American Refugee Do-Gooders: This is how real Christian charity is done!

This is a message to all of you working for American resettlement contractors pretending to be Christian charities.

It is easy to bring Muslim refugees to America while pretending to be Christian charities preaching from your cushy offices in New York, Baltimore and Washington, DC—that means you—US Conference of Catholic Bishops, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service, World Relief (Evangelicals), Episcopal Migration Ministries, and Church World Service!

It is easy for you ‘religious’ refugee resettlement contractors to bully local communities into accepting refugees with appeals to their Christian charitable spirits, but this is a story about real Christian charity.

(By the way, don’t fall for the idea that these resettlement contractors are working to bring Muslim refugees to Christ when they get them to your towns. They are strictly forbidden to preach to Muslim refugees, or any refugees, when taking government money, see here.)

Christian Aid Mission goes to the Middle East and helps refugees where they are with material needs and at the same time brings some to Christ.

The article at Christian Headlines (hat tip: Joanne), begins by confirming something we knew—that UN camps are full of terrorists and criminals (and that is where we are getting most of our refugees for your towns).

Syrian militants are among refugees fleeing to other countries, and they don’t leave their Islamic extremist practices behind. They have brought brutality and a culture of fear into some refugee camps, the director of a ministry in the Middle East said.

In United Nations camps in Jordan, Islamist gangs bring the same practices that refugees have fled: coercion to join terrorist groups such as the Islamic State (ISIS), conflict between militias on both sides of the civil war and the criminal buying and selling of females as sex slaves.

Then get this!

Reaching any Middle Eastern Muslim, much less one associated with ISIS, with the gospel is a delicate, gradual process, and the ministry’s 32 full-time workers and 400 volunteers throughout the region are trained to initiate relationships, answer doubts, share the good news of Christ’s salvation and develop disciples.

One member of ISIS from northern Syria came to visit his relatives who had fled to Jordan because he had heard Christians were providing them aid, the director said. He intended to kill the Christian workers providing aid to his relatives, who were not living in a refugee camp. After hearing the gospel and witnessing the love of the Christians, he put his trust in Christ.

“He first saw how Islam brainwashed him about Christianity, and how that contrasted with the reality of what he saw in the Christians,” the director said. “And we’re talking about an area of Jordan that has three Salafist [a strict, fundamentalist branch of Sunni Islam] mosques. They raise up people to go and fight.”

White House: Secret meeting with George Batah, who wants 65,000 Syrians admitted to U.S.

I told you about this White House petition here, and I know that the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants and possibly the International Rescue Committee (two federal resettlement contractors) were initially involved, or I wouldn’t have mentioned USCRI (their affiliation with the petition must have been removed) in my original post.

George Batah

George Batah (right) invited to White House but prohibited from saying who he met with.

However, now we are told that it was one Syrian immigrant guy from Chicago, one stalwart young activist, who single-handedly came up with the idea and succeeded in getting over 100,000 signatures.

Of course all of those open borders activists who signed the petition have been identified by the White House as potential future allies for the Democrat party.

And, as a secondary benefit, the resettlement contractors and others pushing for more (mostly Muslim) Syrians to enter the US get a news hook (and more media pressure for Obama to raise the number of refugees to be admitted).

Here is the Huffington Post reporting on young George Batah:

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration has responded to a petition calling on the U.S. to resettle tens of thousands of Syrian refugees within its borders, inviting the man who started the petition to the White House for a meeting.

George Batah, 23, came from Syria in 2013 and now lives in Chicago. He said he started the petition in late August because he felt the United States has a moral obligation to continue being “the leader in refugee resettlement.”   [What is young George’s immigration status? It doesn’t say he is a refugee.—ed]

His petition asked the White House to accept at least 65,000 Syrian refugees by 2016. The administration did not commit to that number in its response Thursday, instead reiterating that it intends to bring at least 10,000.

[….]

Batah told The Huffington Post Thursday that while he was pleased to see the administration’s response, he intends to keep pushing officials to take more refugees.

“Ten thousand by 2016 is very meaningful, because 10,000 people’s lives would be saved,” Batah said. “But at the same time, I feel that a country like the U.S., with its resources, can contribute more in terms of the number.”

[How many readers here are infuriated that young George (here since 2013 with immigration status unknown) “feels” that you can spend more of your hard-earned tax dollars on Syrians running from THEIR civil war?—ed]

Why the secrecy?

After Batah started his petition, administration officials invited him to the White House for a meeting in mid-September. He met with staff members from the National Security Council and other departments, but said he wasn’t allowed to disclose exactly who was there.

“When we met, they clearly cared about the issue and wanted to help address the crisis overall,” Batah said. “I’m not in politics, it’s not my strength, but I felt they genuinely care about it.”

Now young George (“not in politics”) wants to start more petitions to get U.S. mayors to ask for more Syrian refugees for your towns and cities.

Readers, beware of signing any petitions at Change.org!

Batah said he is continuing his activism on the issue, recently working with Change.org to encourage people to start petitions calling on their mayors to welcome more refugees.

Grrrr!

Don’t forget to help ACT pound those 18 mayors who have been demanding Obama admit 100,000 Syrians, here.

VIDEO: Interfaith group working to colonize Connecticut with Syrian Muslim ‘refugees’

Council on American Islamic Relations becomes a player!

I’ve been reporting this morning (here) and in the last week (here and here) that there is a new player promoting the resettlement of third world refugees from countries where people hate us (from Iraq, Somalia, Afghanistan, Burma and most recently Syria).

Having followed this issue for eight years I can attest to the fact that the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), although stepping in to defend the ‘rights’ of Muslim refugees to, for instance, pray in the workplace, have not until just recently played an active (visible!) role in the UN/US State Department Refugee Admissions Program.

It seems that all of that is changing, and this video news clip from Connecticut shows CAIR’s leadership role in Connecticut to colonize ten towns with Syrian refugees. And, readers, beware! these so-called ‘Interfaith groups’ are willing participants in changing the demographic make-up of your communities.  See CT Senator Richard Blumenthal (reduce security screening) in the clip!

“A group of leaders, activists and concerned people from various faith traditions in the region gathered on Oct. 11, Sunday, at Berlin Mosque, pushing for “Hope for Humanity” Syrian Refugee Initiative. The interfaith network includes representatives from Council on American-Islamic Relations, First Congregational Church of Old Lyme, Catholic Charities as well as refugee resettlement organizations including Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services and the International Institute of Connecticut.

‘Seeding’ ten cities as Connecticut colonization gets underway!

The group is looking to place ten Syrian refugee families in ten cities including New London and Old Lyme.”

Demand transparency!

The best advice I can give for Connecticut citizens (potential ‘Pockets of Resistance’) is for you to go to your local elected government and ask what the Mayor and council (or county commission) are going to do to demand, at minimum, transparency so that everyone in the city or county knows what they are in for as the cost to local and state taxpayers is enormous (not to mention the social costs of ‘welcoming’ diverse ethnic and religious immigrants who have no intention of assimilating).

Demand that the US State Department and its contractors present a plan to the local community that includes the cost of resettlement and describes the potential social and cultural impact to the community.

The mayor of Athens, Georgia demanded such a plan a year ago and as far as I know, no refugees have yet been resettled there.

See here where we learned that the U.S. State Department is telling reporters and Congress that there is “consultation” with the community.

Go to this list and find the resettlement contractors working in Connecticut.  Call them and ask for the R & P Abstract for FY2016 and ask them for a schedule of the upcoming “quarterly consultations” they hold with stakeholders (you, as tax payers, are stakeholders—maybe the most important stakeholders of all!)

By the way, Connecticut did resettle the largest number of refugees of the New England states in FY2015 which ended on Sept. 30th, see map here.

Invasion of Europe news….

70% of supposed ‘refugees’ arriving in Germany are men!

This is news from last week that we didn’t get to, from Reuters (emphasis is mine):

Germany’s police union and women’s rights groups accused the authorities on Tuesday of playing down reports of harassment, sexual assault and even rape at refugee shelters because they feared a backlash against asylum seekers.

[….]

…. police union chief Rainer Wendt said he believed that authorities in Germany’s federal states, which are responsible for housing asylum seekers, were playing down the problem of assaults on women in the shelters.

“It is understandable that there is the desire to calm things down politically,” Wendt told Reuters. But he, along with women’s groups, believed that ignoring the problem would be counterproductive. “There is a lot of glossing over going on. But this doesn’t represent reality,” he said. But police union chief Rainer Wendt said he believed that authorities in Germany’s federal states, which are responsible for housing asylum seekers, were playing down the problem of assaults on women in the shelters.

With men accounting for about 70 percent of asylum seekers, other groups across the country have demanded gender-segregated accommodation and safe zones for women.

At least 800,000 asylum seekers are expected in Germany this year, and Chancellor Angela Merkel’s popularity has fallen with polls showing many voters believe she is taking too soft a line on allowing them into the country.

Our archive on the ‘Invasion of Europe’ is here.   And here is more on the mess ‘Mama’ Merkel is making in Germany.

Rep. Steve King: Let the Syrians ‘fight for their own country or go to Saudi Arabia!’

King put forth a sensible alternative to bringing Iraqis and Syrians to the U.S. (and thus adding them to our welfare rolls).

Here is the story at the Des Moines Register:

An organization representing the rights of Muslims in the U.S. has criticized U.S. Rep. Steve King for comments the Iowa Republican made Monday about refugees fleeing Syria.

Speaking at a rally in Sioux City with U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, King chastised the idea that the U.S. would accept Syrian Muslims, saying they would be unable to assimilate into the country.

“I can’t find models of the folks that, let’s say do the hajj to Mecca, I can’t find models where they’ve assimilated into the broader culture and civilization wherever they’ve gone,” said King, a U.S. representative.

In a statement Tuesday, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR, called that statement a “bizarre claim.”

Every sensible person viewing the photos of the invasion of Europe thinks the same thing as King expresses below—why aren’t these fighting-age young men at home fighting for their country?

At the rally, King also said refugees should be trained to defend the countries they are fleeing.

“So, I say instead, the refugees that come out of Iraq and come out of Syria: first, I’d train them and say ‘go back and defend your country.’ Give them uniforms … but if you can’t get them to do that then send them to Saudi Arabia where they have the air-conditioned tents at Mecca. Those tents are not busy for 11 months out of the year and they would assimilate into that culture like a hand into a glove,” King said.

Of course, commonsense is not in vogue these days, and the Muslim ‘refugees’ are participating in the Hijra (CAIR is smoothing the way)—the migration encouraged by Mohammed to bring Islam to the land of the infidels.  97% of the Syrians being admitted to the U.S. are Muslims.

As refugee resettlement continues unabated, you know that one day CAIR hopes to have enough voters in Iowa to get rid of King and others like him.  Young patriots—have more babies!

Take a minute and contact Rep. Steve King and thank him for his forthrightness.  Click here and call one or all of his offices.

Florida: Muslim leader says the Sunshine state will get 1,000-2,000 Syrian migrants this year

He is guessing on the numbers and basing it on the fact that Florida is one of the top states receiving mostly Muslim Syrians so far. We listed the Top Ten states here.  And, we listed all the cities receiving Syrians (so far) here.

Dr+Doured+Daghistani

Dr. Doured Daghistani

This is from WLRN (Miami) (I sure hope there are a lot of mental health dollars available in Florida!):

According to the State Department, the six states that have housed the most Syrian refugees so far are Texas, California, Michigan, Illinois, Arizona and Florida.

Dr. Doured Daghistani, a pediatric oncologist and board member of the Syrian American Council of South Florida, says the culture shock endured by Syrian refugees arriving here is unlike any other immigrant experience.

“They’re coming with a big psycho-social burden on them,” said Daghistani.

[….]

Last month, President Obama said his administration is preparing to accept 10,000 Syrian refugees in the coming budget year. Daghistani said he expects 10-20% of the refugees to relocate to Florida and at least 10% to South Florida.

Recent polls show a majority of Americans are opposed to Obama’s plan, with most believing it poses a threat to national security.

[….]

“I think bringing the Syrian refugees here will help the humanitarian issues and will beef up the diversity of South Florida,” Daghistani said.

Syrian American Council of South Florida Facebook page is here.

What you can do!

I urge all of you in Florida to visit my post yesterday and contact your state’s resettlement agencies.  You will be asking for a schedule of upcoming “quarterly consultations” and the “FY 2016 Abstract” for your city.  Report to me what you find out!

Meeting tomorrow in Orlando

Although not Southern Florida, a reader yesterday told me about a meeting TOMORROW in Orlando.  If you are in the area please attend!

Trump doubles down on Muslim refugee ‘Trojan Horse’ comment

Here we have the New York Post reporting on 2016 presidential candidate Donald Trump (on the Sunday shows) reemphasizing his contention that the Syrian refugee stream to Europe and America could bring ISIS terrorists in with it.

donald serious

Donald Trump: “What she [Merkel] has done to Germany is insane.”

Trump also said he carries a gun from time to time.

Just a reminder, the Syrian stream to America is well underway, 97% are Syrian Muslims.

From the New York Post:

WASHINGTON — It’s “insane” that Chancellor Angela Merkel is allowing so many male Syrian refugees into Germany, Donald Trump said Sunday.

“I’ve been watching this migration. And I see the people. I mean, they’re men, they’re mostly men, and they’re strong men,” Trump said on “Face the Nation.” “What I won’t do is take in 200,000 Syrians who could be ISIS.”

“These are physically young, strong men. They look like prime-time soldiers. Now, it’s probably not true. But where are the women?” the GOP frontrunner wondered.

Merkel has welcomed the flood of mostly Syrian and Afghan refugees with compassion saying it’s her “damned duty” to help those running for their lives. An estimated 800,000 newcomers will arrive in Germany by the year’s end.

“What she’s done in Germany is insane. It’s insane. They’re having all sorts of attacks.”

The Gulf States “who have nothing but money” and others should find a big swath of land in Syria and create a safe zone to harbor families, Trump suggested. The US could help economically, but should limit taking in Syrian refugees because they could be terrorists.

See all of our posts on the ‘Invasion of Europe’ by clicking here.  And, see what Merkel is doing to Germany, here (“unparalleled historical mistake”).

Going to Europe and Coming to America

Flying from the United States to any destination in Germany is not much different from what it was in years past.  My wife, Joyce, and I arrived in Munich on the morning of September 24 following an overnight flight from Houston.

During the long tedious flight from Houston I could have watched at least six full-length movies, but I watched just two.  I saw my old friend and former Malibu neighbor, Tatum O’Neal, in her Oscar-winning performance in “Paper Moon,” a movie she made when she was just ten years old, and I saw Orson Welles in “Citizen Kane,” one of Hollywood’s greatest movies of all time.

As I watched Welles’ performance as a crass, overbearing, egomaniacal newspaper publisher, I couldn’t help but feel as if Donald Trump is a perfect reincarnation of Welles’ character, Charles Foster Kane.  Trump and Kane are mirror images of each other.  Anyone wishing to understand the political appeal of “Citizen Trump” should simply rent a video copy of “Citizen Kane.”

After standing in a short line in Munich to show our passports, we were directed to the baggage claim area where our checked bags arrived in a matter of minutes.  We then proceeded to two pairs of swinging doors, one marked “passengers with nothing to declare.”  We passed through the doors with a welcoming smile from a lone customs official and minutes later we were aboard a bus bound for a ski resort in Soell, Austria, just 54 miles south of Munich.

On Friday, we spent a full day in old-town Innsbruck, enjoying a sandwich and a glass of wine in a sunny sidewalk café across the street from the Hofburg Palace where Marie Antoinette grew up.  Although there is no real evidence that she ever uttered the words, “Qu’ils mangent de la brioche” (“Let them eat cake”), Marie Antoinette eventually became a very unpopular figure in France and was sent to the guillotine on October 16, 1793, during the French Revolution.

The following day, Saturday, September 26, I experienced the joy of driving a 5-speed Ford stick-shift rental car over some 120 miles of high-speed autobahns and just over 100 miles of winding two-lane alpine roads to visit the famed Neuschwanstein castle of Bavaria’s King Ludwig II.  With heavy traffic in both directions, the local farmers pulling their wagonloads of silage made passing a frightening experience… more so for my three passengers than for me.

After riding horse-drawn carts up the mountain to the castle… I can still recall the days when I walked up the long road to Neuschwanstein faster than the horse-drawn carts… we shared lunch with friends before descending the mountain and returning to our ski resort.  On the way back we came across several thousand very frustrated drivers who were stuck in a 10-mile long traffic jam on a two-lane mountain road.  A big Mercedes sedan, pulling a camper trailer, was stalled at the base of an incline with no possibility of getting off the road, turning around, or backing     down.  And since traffic was heavy in both directions there was no opportunity for those stuck in the traffic jam to turn around and find another route.  They may still be there a week later.

In our remaining days we drove to Salzburg, Mozart’s birthplace, where we strolled through the same palace gardens where Julie Andrews sang and danced with the Von Trapp children in “The Sound of Music.”  And we traveled to Berchtesgaden uber Salzburg, where we enjoyed a cold beer in what was once Adolph Hitler’s mountain retreat, the Eagle’s Nest.  We also spent a day driving over the Brenner Pass into northern Italy where we were treated to the most “generous” wine-tasting party I’ve ever experienced in the vineyards of the Merano-Bolzano region.

Although a principal reason for our trip to Austria and Germany at this time of year was to attend Munich’s Oktoberfest, we decided that, with hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees flooding into Germany from Austria and Hungary, it might be a good idea to avoid Munich and other major German cities.  With widespread reports of women dragged from buses and automobiles and gang-raped in broad daylight, it simply wasn’t worth the gamble.

What was most surprising was that, in a week of watching news broadcasts on the BBC, CNN International, and an English-language French network, we saw almost no news coverage of the millions of Muslim refugees fleeing war and brutality in their home countries.  To judge by the amount of coverage of the crisis on European TV, there was no reason to believe that refugees were flooding across European frontiers, that boatloads of refugees were dying at sea, or that hordes of refugees were trudging overland from Greece and Turkey to Western Europe.

For the first time it was possible to believe that perhaps the Germans who lived in close proximity to Dachau, Buchenwald, and other concentration camps during the Nazi holocaust really didn’t know what was going on behind the barbed-wire fences and the iron gates that proclaimed, “Arbeit Macht Frei.”  If leftist regimes during the 1930s and ‘40s could keep their people ignorant of the horrors of the concentration camps by merely managing the news, why couldn’t they keep them ignorant of the invasion of African and Middle Eastern refugees in 2015 when leftist control of the media is just as pervasive and even more sophisticated?

But what was most important for me was to see the joy in Joyce’s eyes as she experienced Austria and Germany, my favorite places on Earth, for the first time.  On first sight, a newcomer to the German and Austrian Alps might feel as if they are looking at a few miles of Potemkin Villages, where every home, every window box, every lawn, every meadow, every mountain stream, and every highland pasture are manicured to absolute perfection.  But it doesn’t take long for the first-time visitor to realize that the perfection in the Alpine region of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland goes on for hundreds of miles, in all directions, apparently without flaw.

In eight days of travel throughout Bavaria, Austria, and the Italian Tyrol, there was not a piece of litter to be seen… no discarded beer cans, plastic bottles, or hamburger wrappers.  There were no automobile junk yards, no garish fast-food restaurants, no highway billboards, no graffiti-sprayed walls, and no dilapidated automobiles.  In a word, that entire region of Planet Earth is “pristine.”  The roads and highways are completely devoid of potholes and the trains and buses run on time.

But, as in everything else, all good things must come to an end.  On Thursday morning, October 1st, we packed our bags and returned by bus to the Munich International Airport.  Arriving at the airport with time to spare, we had plenty of time to stand in a long baggage-check line and a much shorter and faster-moving security check line where all we had to do was place our carry-on bags, our wallets, and our pocket-change into baskets for x-ray examination.  However, while the return flight from Munich to Washington (Dulles) was some three hours shorter than our long flight from Houston to Munich, what awaited us at Dulles was a most unpleasant end to a spectacular European vacation.

Upon entering the Dulles terminal, we found ourselves inching forward in a seemingly endless maze of retractable crowd-control barriers, at the end of which were three or four surly customs agents checking passports.  Passing that obstacle, we were directed to a baggage claim area to retrieve our checked luggage.

After waiting for nearly a half hour to reclaim our bags, we were directed to a second crowd-control maze which appeared to be nothing more than a people-storage facility because there was no discernible movement in the line.  After an hour or more, moving just inches at a time, we learned why the line moved so slowly.  The line we’d been standing in emptied into a room with some 20 or 30 unattended electronic kiosks which required thousands of kiosk-illiterate travelers to study glowing touch-screens, trying to figure out what was required of them.

Once passengers figured out that they were first required to scan their passports, they were then required to position themselves so that the kiosk could produce a photograph of the passenger, along with a form to be completed affirming that the passenger carried no fruits, vegetables, plants, or seeds; no meats, animals, or animal products; no disease agents or cell cultures; no soil from a foreign farm or ranch; that the passenger had not been in close proximity to livestock; that the passenger was not carrying in excess of $10,000 in U.S. currency; etc… the very same questions we’d responded to on the customs declaration form completed prior to landing.

Once we’d completed the kiosk interrogation and had our kiosk-generated customs declaration forms in hand, we were directed to yet another waiting area filled with crowd-control barriers.  After moving through that maze at a snail’s pace we found three or four bored customs officers sitting behind desks, doing nothing but collecting the kiosk-generated customs declarations.  Then, after unburdening ourselves of our customs declarations we were directed to a baggage collection area where we were able to return our checked baggage to United Airlines for the final leg of our journey to Tulsa.

From there, we found ourselves in a fourth passenger collection room with a seemingly endless maze of retractable crowd-control barriers, at the end of which we were required to empty our pockets into trays, along with our carry-on-bags, remove our shoes and belts, and submit to a full-body scan and a full-body pat-down.

To say that the process of reentering the United States was a maddening ordeal would be an understatement, but it’s the sort of thing that happens when the inmates are allowed to run the asylum.  As I stood in those endless lines, the most painful and humiliating punishment devised by the fiendish bureaucrats of the Transportation Security Administration, I couldn’t help but think of the millions of illegal aliens streaming unimpeded across our southern border.

George Orwell warned us about this.  Nineteen eight-four has finally arrived!

Muslim Refugee Resettlement Resistance Grows: Feds shifiting costs to State and Local Taxpayers

Fox News reporter, Melissa Jacobs, posted a very useful piece earlier this week entitled, ‘Obama’s refugee resettlement plan could stir battle with states.

Here is a bit that interested me (be sure to read the whole thing because she mentions several states and local communities resisting the resettlement of more refugees.  See if your city or state gets a mention!).

The Obama administration’s pledge to absorb thousands more Syrian and other refugees could run headlong into resistance from state and local officials worried about whether their communities can handle the influx.

[….]

“It’s a fiscal issue,” said Peter Steele, a spokesman for Maine Gov. Paul LePage. “You can only pay for what you can afford, and those funds should be going to the most needy citizens in our state.”

Don Barnett

Don Barnett, Center for Immigration Studies Fellow.

[….]

…. push back from the states could pose practical challenges.

According to a 1980 law, states can opt out of the program and need to be consulted in the process. However, Don Barnett, a fellow with the Center for Immigration Studies, describes refugee resettlement as a “secretive” and lucrative business for “non-profits” who operate with little coordination with state and local communities.

“In every encounter I’ve had with resettlement representatives, they will say if the locality doesn’t want it, we won’t resettle them — but this hasn’t been tested,” Barnett said.

Concern about the funding burden falling on local governments is hardly new.

The 1981 Select Commission on Immigration and Refugee Policy noted, “Many state and local officials are concerned that the costs of resettlement assistance will continue beyond the period of federal reimbursement and that the burden of providing services will then fall upon their governments.”

“There is a complete cost shift to the states,” Barnett said.

Indeed, federal funding, extended for 36 months at the beginning of the program, dropped to the current eight-month period by 1991. The Heritage Foundation estimates the total lifetime cost of government benefits at $6.5 billion per 10,000 refugees.

See Julia Hahn at Breitbart, here, for more on the Heritage Foundation study.

‘Refugee’ security screening Greek-style

How do I find out if my town is targeted for Muslim refugees?

Because it is just me here (no staff, no interns), I’m going a bit crazy trying to keep up with your e-mail and phone requests.  So, I decided to put a little time into listing the usual questions I get and put answers here (in one place).

(There is no particular order to the following frequently asked questions):

How do I find out if my town is targeted?

You won’t get much of a warning.  If you hear a rumor (like the Idaho one we posted here), follow it up (and let us know!). Also be sure to see this map, click here, and this handy list, click here.  If you are within a hundred miles of  any of those resettlement offices, your town is fair game.  The legend on the map lists abbreviations of the nine major federal resettlement agencies.  BTW, they are running out of ‘welcoming’ places to resettle refugees so they are out scouting for fresh territory.

Who are the nine federal resettlement agencies choosing sites for refugee resettlement?

The nine VOLAGs are listed here.  VOLAG stands for Voluntary Agencies which is a joke because they are largely paid by the US taxpayer to do the resettlement.

What do I need to know if I do learn that refugees are planned for my town?

See this post we wrote some months ago, ‘Ten things your town needs to know.’

Where do I start to learn how the Refugee Admissions Program works?

Start with our fact sheet (sorry it is two years old, we need to work on updating it, but it is still useful).  I find the Annual Reports to Congress very very useful.  We also have a category with hundreds of posts in it entitled, ‘where to find information.’  Serious students of refugee resettlement should periodically scroll through it.

Also, I urge you to just follow my blog postings for awhile and you will learn as you go.  I try hard to link back to previous information every day.

You are always talking about doing data base research, where do I do that?

Go to the Refugee Processing Center, here and/or here and just play around with the data bases available.  I can’t explain exactly how to pull up all the information, but you will figure it out if you spend a little time exploring them.

I need information on ______, what do you know about it?

We have a very good search function here at this word-press blog.  Please type a few key words into our search window in the upper left hand corner.  Since we are now over 7,000 posts, I use it all the time to see what I know about a certain subject or resettlement location.  Please search here at RRW.  LOL! You probably will find plenty of information faster than e-mailing me with your question!

How do I find a ‘Pocket of Resistance’ near me?

Contact Jim Simpson, resettlementresister@gmail.com.  Learn more about Jim here.

How do I get your book?

WordPress doesn’t allow me to sign you up.  You need to follow directions to subscribe.  Or, if you want to see everything I post on your twitter feed, follow me on Twitter.  I also have a Facebook page but with the help of Kelly we post some other things there, and not all of my RRW posts.  If you don’t want your inbox filled with notifications, just visit RRW daily and scroll back through what I’ve posted during the day.

Do you take donations?

No, this is my charitable work. I do not make money writing this blog.  I may explore putting some advertisements on RRW in the future, but I’m usually too busy to research what I need to do to make that happen.

Can I interview you on my radio show?

I do some radio interviews, but honestly I think I am missing requests (and do apologize), but it is because my e-mail inbox is so full I miss them.   Please put very clearly in the subject line something like:  ‘MEDIA REQUEST’.  That goes for reporters too wanting interviews or questions answered.

If you have sent me a media request and have not heard back, please resend with ‘MEDIA REQUEST’ clearly in the subject line.

Will you speak to my group in _____?

I have been to lots of places this year to speak and have met some very wonderful people (South Carolina, Missouri, Texas, Minnesota, Iowa, and Tennessee), but honestly I am not a speaker and it is very stressful to travel and speak.  And, when I travel I don’t get much blogging done, which I think is more important for the overall cause.  So I am not planning on taking any more trips (other than those I previously committed to that are fairly close to home).

If you contact me, I will be giving you the names of a couple of people knowledgeable about the Refugee Admissions Program that might be willing to travel (but be prepared to pay expenses and an honorarium, we don’t have the money in our movement as the other side has!).

Oh, and I am doing a couple of skype meetings coming up soon.

That is all for now.  Again, sorry I can’t get to all of your e-mails (at least a hundred a day).  I hope this helps.  I’ll be re-posting it from time to time, or adding new information as needed.

U.S. Department of Homeland Security: No way to vet Muslim Syrian refugees

And since the Obama Administration continues in its resolute denial of the motivating and guiding ideology behind the global jihad, there is no possible way that DHS could effectively subject these refugees to “robust screening.” Any attempt by them to do so is foredoomed.

DHS Confesses: No Databases Exist To Vet Syrian Refugees,” Investor’s Business Daily, October 6, 2015:

Immigration: As the White House prepares to dump another 10,000 Syrian refugees on U.S. cities, it assures us these mostly Muslim men undergo a “robust screening” process. Not so, admits the agency responsible for such vetting.

Under grilling from GOP Sen. Jeff Sessions, head of the Senate subcommittee on immigration, the Homeland Security official in charge of vetting Syrian and other foreign Muslim refugees confessed that no police or intelligence databases exist to check the backgrounds of incoming refugees against criminal and terrorist records.

“Does Syria have any?” Sessions asked. “The government does not, no sir,” answered Matthew Emrich, associate director for fraud detection and national security at DHS’ U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Sessions further inquired: “You don’t have their criminal records, you don’t have the computer database that you can check?” Confessed Emrich: “In many countries the U.S. accepts refugees from, the country did not have extensive data holdings.”

While a startling admission, it confirms previous reporting. Senior FBI officials recently testified that they have no idea who these people are, and they can’t find out what type of backgrounds they have — criminal, terrorist or otherwise — because there are no vetting opportunities in those war-torn countries.

Syria and Iraq, along with Somalia and Sudan, are failed states where police records aren’t even kept. Agents can’t vet somebody if they don’t have documentation and don’t even have the criminal databases to screen applicants.

So the truth is, we are not vetting these Muslim refugees at all. And as GOP presidential front-runners duly note, it’s a huge gamble to let people from hostile nations enter the U.S. without any meaningful background check. It’s a safer bet just to limit, if not stop, their immigration.

“If I win, they’re going back,” Donald Trump vowed. “They could be ISIS. This (mass Syrian immigration) could be one of the great tactical ploys of all time.”

Ben Carson, for his part, said that he would bar refugees from Syria because they are “infiltrated” with terrorists seeking to harm America. “To bring into this country groups infiltrated with jihadists makes no sense,” Carson asserted. “Why would you do something like that?”

The Obama regime claims to have no evidence of terrorist or even extremist infiltration. But Sessions made public a list of 72 recent Muslim immigrants arrested just over the past year who were charged with terrorist activity.

The list doesn’t include the Boston Marathon bombers, who emigrated from Chechnya as asylum seekers. Or the several dozen suspected terrorist bomb-makers brought into the U.S. as Iraq war refugees.

They included two al-Qaida in Iraq terrorists mistakenly resettled as refugees in Bowling Green, Ky. Waad Ramadan Alwan and Mohanad Shareef Hammadi were sent to Bowling Green even though they had been detained by authorities in Iraq for killing U.S. soldiers.

Alwan had crossed the border into Syria. Still, both passed background checks and were declared “clean.” They were then placed in U.S. public housing and afforded other welfare benefits.

While here, the two refugees plotted to obtain Stinger missiles and attack homeland targets. The FBI caught up to them before they could carry out their plans. They are now serving 40 years in federal prison….

Japan wants to preserve its distinctive culture by limiting Muslim refugees

They give generously to humanitarian causes around the world, but do not want to dilute their culture by admitting refugees.  We have written many times on Japan, but once again as the Syrians are invading Europe, the Japanese are being called unwelcoming.

From USA Today:

TOKYO — It came as no surprise when Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe announced a major increase in financial support last week for migrants flooding into Western Europe — but no change in his country’s restrictive policy toward those seeking refuge in Japan.

For decades, Japan has been one of biggest contributors to international relief organizations, spending billions of dollars to help people fleeing wars, poverty and natural disasters worldwide.

Yet Japan also has been one of the least welcoming nations to refugees. Of 5,000 foreigners who requested political asylum in Japan last year, only 11 were granted safe haven, an acceptance rate that is 1/100th of the world average.

By comparison, the United States granted asylum to nearly 70% of 63,000 people who applied last year.

Refugee advocates say Japan’s reluctance to accept asylum seekers stems from a combination of factors: geographic isolation, language and cultural barriers, and a historical wariness of foreigners and a lack of interest in foreign affairs.

Somali rejected!

In one case cited by Watanabe, a Somali man’s asylum application was rejected after immigration officials concluded that while the man’s father and brother were murdered by al-Shabab terrorists, the rest of his family was not murdered and the asylum seeker remained in Somalia for several months before fleeing. The reviewing officer concluded: “We do not find that you have fear of being persecuted required by the refugee convention.”  [I’ll bet a buck that the Somali asylum seeker couldn’t even prove that his father and brother were killed by al-Shabab!—ed]

There is more, continue reading here.

For American readers, just so you know, as the UNHCR is sending Somalis back to Somalia from its Kenyan camps we admitted 8,858 Somalis to the U.S. in FY 2015, here (many from the Kenyan camps!).

A Muslim organization’s influence operation on Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT)

Yesterday we told you that Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) is leading the charge to lessen the security screening for Syrian and other Middle Eastern refugees and he wants to expand the so-called P-3 (fraud ridden!) family reunification program.

See yesterday’s post by clicking here.

(When I mentioned to a friend that I had updated my post with that information (thanks to Kyle), she suggested I write a second post because as a subscriber, who received the earlier one, she would not see the update.)Now we know the answer to the question I asked all of you to help answer.  Looming over Blumenthal’s shoulder is none other than Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR)- Connecticut director Mongi Dhaouadi.

But it is worth mentioning again because this is now the second time we have seen CAIR involving itself directly in the Syrian (mostly Muslim) resettlement issue (and you can bet they are not advocating for the persecuted Syrian Christians).

Clearly their interest is in boosting the Muslim population in the US.

CAIR was here in the St. Louis ‘Bring them here march’ last month.

Here is Mr. Dhaouadi’s bio at CAIR’s website:

Mongi Dhaouadi
Executive Director

Mongi S. Dhaouadi was born and raised in Tunisia. He moved to the US when he was 19 years old and studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. As The Executive director of CAIR-CT, he conducts civil rights workshops throughout the state of Connecticut under the title “Know Your Rights.” Also, he leads several workshops and discussions on Islamophobia and the Muslim experience before and after 9/11. He has participated in and led several media campaigns and press conferences on issues concerning the Muslim community ranging from discrimination cases to advocating for the change of racial profiling laws in the state of Connecticut. Dhaouadi was featured in countless local, national, and international media outlets including NPR, FOX News, and Democracy Now with Amy Goodman. During the summer, he runs a youth internship program during which high school and college students work on several projects ranging from preparing a toolkit on Islamic cultural competency for schools, to writing and publishing articles from a Muslim youth perspective in the local papers and publications. Dhaouadi leads a Connecticut delegation at the Capitol Hill visits; an event that is organized every year by CAIR National, where members of the Muslim community visit their representatives in Wasington, DC and advocate for issues of concern domestic and foreign. Prior to joining CAIR-CT on a full time bases Dhaouadi was the Head Administrator at SKF Academy in Hamden Connecticut. Dhaouadi is married with three children: ages 11, 14 and 18. He lives with his family in New London, Connecticut. His favorite past time is playing or coaching soccer.

So far Connecticut doesn’t get very many refugees compared to other states.  I guess Blumenthal and Dhaouadi would like to change that.  Go to this map and have a look!

Is CAIR getting into the refugee resettlement program where you live?  Let me know.  And, while you are at it, see if you notice the involvement of Islamic Relief (USA) as well.

Go here to find the regional offices of Islamic Relief (USA) thanks to reader Cathy.
