President Trump has had it with the Iranian regime. He’s been making that abundantly clear for the past two weeks as US forces continue to pound IRGC targets in and around the Strait of Hormuz.

On Thursday, he told Axios that he was getting close to deciding to launch a “massive attack” on Iran — bigger than anything we’ve seen before — and would probably make that decision over the weekend. He also said that while waiting, he would destroy one bridge or power plant every time Iran fires on a ship transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will be consulting with the President on Tuesday at the White House.

So far, the President has said he is not seeking Israel’s help, but I’m willing to bet Bibi has got some juicy intelligence he will lay on the Resolute Desk that will be hard for Trump to ignore — perhaps new details about Mount Kalang, often referred to by reporters as PickAxe Mountain.

(As an Iranian friend explained it, Kalang does indeed mean Pickaxe, but so does Mont Blanc mean White Mountain, and you don’t hear anyone calling it by the translation because it is a proper noun).

Over the past few weeks, a few facts have emerged about the Mount Kalang facility. First, it has never been targeted by the US or the Israelis. That means that as of June 2025, when we joined the 12 day Israeli strike on Iran’s nuclear archipelago to drop bunker-buster bombs on Fordo, Iran’s main enrichment plant, we didn’t know about Mount Kalang.

Next, we are told that the facility is built around 100 meters below the surface, in principle beyond the reach of our deep earth penetrators.

This week, the Israelis publicly disclosed they have intelligence that Iran began transferring uranium enrichment centrifuges from Fordo to Kalang before the June 2025 strikes. If true, that blows a hole the size of Hiroshima in our military strategy so far.

Everything we have done has been predicated on bomb damage assessments on Iran’s nuclear plants after the June 2025 strikes that showed Iran’s nuclear program had been “obliterated,” as the president said.

But what if the regime’s 450 kg of 60% enriched uranium is currently inside Mount Kalang, along with the centrifuges needed to enrich it to weapons grade? What if they transfered bomb components to Mount Kalang as well? Iran could already be a nuclear weapons state, just waiting for an opportunity to launch.

This week, they threatened to strike the Royal Air Force Base at Fairford, England, which incoming British Prime Minister Andy Burnham has now allowed the US to use to launch B1 bomber strikes on Iran. We know the Iranians have missiles with the range to hit the UK after US warships intercepted those missiles en route to Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean, a similar distance from Iran.

So it looks like we are quickly moving into Act IV of the war, the resumption of major military operations. But it also looks like the stakes could be much higher than anyone anticipated when this all started on February 28.

Also of concern is a report from Reuters that Iran has successfully been targeting top secret CIA bases in the Middle East, allegedly with intelligence assistance from Russia. One of those facilities was the CIA station in Saudi Arabia, located inside the US Embassy. Another was in eastern Iraq. The Iranians knew exactly where these secret facilities were located and targeted them with drones.

The Iranian regime has shown itself to be much more capable militarily than the US anticipated at the start of the war. It’s hard to imagine Centcom commander Admiral Bradley Cooper telling the President we had obliterated “95% of their ballistic missiles” if he didn’t have intelligence to support that finding.

But if so, that intelligence was wrong. Despite repeated hits on their missile launchers and supply depots, the Iranians continued to launch. Now they claim that they have actually tripled their production of ballistic missiles since the beginning of the war. Tripled!

While that may be typical Iranian regime bravura, it’s clear they are continuing to produce missiles and drones and we are unable to stop them from doing so. That’s one reason the US hit the bridges to Tajikistan last week. They were main supply routes for military gear from both China and Russia.

I believe we have gone so far with military operations that there is no turning back. The June 17 MoU showed that Iran would take any offer of a ceasefire as a sign of US defeat, and redouble their aggression through their proxies.

They have made zero concessions, and have fulfilled none of their commitments under the MoU. As the President said this week, they “need to feel more pain.” A lot more pain.

But we also need to be strategic, and that’s where the Israelis come in. They have much better intelligence than we do on the IRGC, its leadership, and how it functions.

We need to jointly launch a knock-out blow on the IRGC, so it will be incapable of rolling back the popular uprising that is sure to follow their defeat. This is what I call Act V of this five act Shakespearean drama, and it will transform the world for good.
