Rogue judges Will Not Stop Trump’s America First Agenda

The American people spoke with a roar in 2024, delivering Donald Trump a mandate to unleash his America First agenda. But a cabal of rogue judges, intoxicated by their own power, dares to defy the nation’s will. These unelected, black-robed tyrants, appointed by Democrats and entrenched in their activist fiefdoms, are waging a judicial jihad to sabotage Trump’s presidency. From blocking deportations of illegal gang members to forcing taxpayers to fund globalist NGOs, these judges are not interpreting the law—they’re rewriting it to thwart the executive branch. They believe they can rule from the bench, but are gravely mistaken. Judges have no authority to administer the executive branch, and their overreach will crash against the unbreakable resolve of Trump and the American people.

These radical rogues are not neutral arbiters. They’re partisan warriors, weaponizing their gavels to preserve the rotting corpse of Joe Biden’s failed policies. Take Judge Amir Ali, a prime example of judicial hubris. Ali had the audacity to order the Trump administration to funnel $2 billion to NGOs that bankrolled liberal programs abroad with American tax dollars. This wasn’t justice—it was theft, a blatant attempt to subvert Trump’s foreign policy and force taxpayers to fund globalist schemes. Ali didn’t even have jurisdiction; the case belonged in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, not his courtroom. Yet he seized power, acting as if he, not Trump, were commander-in-chief. This is not the law. This is tyranny.

The assault doesn’t stop there. Biden-appointed Judge Brian Murphy blocked Trump from fast-tracking deportations of suspected gang members to countries like El Salvador. Another judge in South Texas halted the deportation of Venezuelan gang members, citing a warped reading of the Alien Enemies Act. In California, Judge Jennifer Thurston barred Border Patrol from arresting suspected illegals without warrants, crippling enforcement. These rulings aren’t about legal nuance—they’re about protecting criminals and illegals over American citizens. These judges are spitting in the face of Trump’s mandate to secure the border and deport those who threaten our safety.

Reps. Jim Jordan and Brian Mast have sounded the alarm, and their words burn with truth: these rogue judges are “out to stop Trump’s America First agenda.” They’re not just bending the law—they’re breaking it, manipulating jurisdiction to obstruct the president’s constitutional authority. Jordan, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, and Mast, head of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, aren’t mincing words. They expose these judges as unelected bureaucrats who think they can override the 2024 election. Their solution? Strip these activist courts of their stolen power. Mast’s bill, which has already passed the House, ensures that federal district judges’ injunctions apply only to the parties in their jurisdiction, not nationwide—no more single judges holding the entire nation hostage.

The House Republicans are on the warpath and are right to be. Fox News reports they are crafting a battle plan to crush this judicial overreach. They are not just talking—they are acting. Legislation is in motion to limit the scope of these rogue rulings and restore power to the elected executive. The Daily Caller lays it bare: Congress has the tools to stop these judges without resorting to impeachment. They can redefine jurisdiction, curb nationwide injunctions, and cut the purse strings of courts that defy the Constitution. This is not a suggestion—it is a necessity. The American people did not vote for judges to run the country. They voted for Trump.

Senator Marsha Blackburn is equally fierce, criticizing these “out-of-control leftist judges” for obstructing Trump’s agenda. She’s not mistaken. These judges operate as a fifth column, masquerading as defenders of justice while promoting a radical leftist agenda. They’re not upholding the law but advocating for open borders, globalism, and unaccountable bureaucracy. Blackburn’s call to rein them in is a rallying cry for every patriot who prioritizes the rule of law over the rule of robes.

The evidence is undeniable. Fortune reports that Trump’s administration is accumulating legal setbacks, not because his policies are unlawful, but because these judges are acting like dictators. They’re targeting Trump’s deportation orders, his efforts to remove unaccountable bureaucrats, and his moves to realign foreign aid with American interests. This isn’t justice—it’s a judicial coup d’état. Newt Gingrich nailed it: 92% of the judges blocking Trump’s first-term agenda were Democrat appointees. This isn’t random—it’s a coordinated assault by a politicized judiciary.

But here’s the truth: these judges can’t escape. They have no power to stop Trump, as the Constitution vests executive authority in the president, not the courts. Judges can’t administer the executive branch, no matter how loudly they bang their gavels. Trump’s mandate is ironclad, backed by millions of Americans who rejected the chaos of open borders and globalist surrender. The people chose strength, security, and sovereignty, not judicial activism.

Congress is rising to the fight. Jordan’s oversight, Mast’s legislation, and the GOP’s relentless push to curb judicial overreach are the opening salvos in a war to restore constitutional order. These rogue judges may think they’re untouchable, but they are not. The American people will strip them of their ill-gotten power through their elected representatives. Trump will not bend. His America First agenda will not break. These judges can delay and obstruct, but they will not win. The will of the people is a tidal wave, and no bench can stand against it.

Trump Establishes Religious Liberty Commission

President Donald Trump has kept a campaign promise to establish a commission to fight infringements on religious liberty. On Thursday, he signed an executive order establishing the Religious Liberty Commission.

“The Founders envisioned a Nation in which religious voices and views are integral to a vibrant public square and human flourishing and in which religious people and institutions are free to practice their faith without fear of discrimination or hostility from the Government,” says the executive order.

The members will “offer diverse perspectives on how the Federal Government can defend religious liberty for all Americans” and produce a report on the current state of religious liberty in America.

It appears the commission will not back away from hot button issues where Christians currently experience repression from liberal, secular states. “Key focus areas include parental rights in religious education, school choice, conscience protections, attacks on houses of worship, free speech for religious entities, and institutional autonomy,” said a White House fact sheet that accompanied the announcement.

The committee will be chaired by Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick (R) and co-chaired by former brain surgeon and former Trump Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Ben Carson. Its members include:

  • Ryan Anderson, the president of the Ethics and Public Policy Center and author of “When Harry Became Sally,” a groundbreaking book on the transgender phenomenon that was at times banished from Amazon.
  • Bishop Robert Barron, Roman Catholic bishop of the Diocese of Winona-Rochester in Minnesota.
  • Carrie Prejean Boller, a former Miss California who made waves at the 2009 Miss USA pageant for defending traditional marriage.
  • Cardinal Timothy Dolan, the Roman Catholic archbishop of New York.
  • Franklin Graham, president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and the relief organization Samaritan’s Purse.
  • Allyson Ho, an attorney at Gibson, Dunn, & Crutcher.
  • Talk show host Dr. Phil McGraw.
  • Eric Metaxas, a bestselling author and host of a syndicated talk show and host of a show on TBN.
  • Kelly Shackelford, president and CEO of First Liberty Institute, which defends religious liberty.
  • Rabbi Meir Soloveichik of Congregation Shearith Israel, who frequently fights for religious liberty alongside Christians and members of other faiths.
  • Paula White, the president’s faith adviser.

The actions came as the president celebrated the National Day of Prayer, which falls each year on the first Thursday in May. “From the earliest days of our Nation’s journey, America has been guided by the grace of Almighty God,” says his presidential proclamation. “This National Day of Prayer, we thank God for His endless blessings — and we ask Him to grant us fortitude, wisdom, and a renewed spirit of justice as we continue the work to save our country and restore our national promise.”

Democrats Promise, Fail to Deliver Alternative to Trump’s First 100 Days

As President Donald Trump celebrated his consequential first 100 days in office this week, Democratic leaders Kamala Harris, Chuck Schumer, and Hakeem Jeffries promised to unveil their party’s platform for the rest of the Trump administration. Instead, their speeches and publicity events struggled to find a coherent, substantive message beyond their undying opposition to the 47th president.

Former Vice President Kamala Harris returned to the spotlight during a 15-minute-long speech to the annual gala of Emerge America, a left-leaning group that recruits women to run for office. There, Harris returned to her 2024 campaign norm: overly rehearsed lines and choreographed gesticulations, sandwiched between bouts of mugging and giggling.

“Understand,” she commanded viewers, the Trump administration is “a high-velocity event, where a vessel is being used for the swift implementation of an agenda that has been decades in the making” to “slash public education … shrink government and then privatize its services, all while giving tax breaks to the wealthiest among us.”

Rather than offer an alternative, she predicted Democratic elected officials’ cowardice would trigger a “constitutional crisis” where the only salvation will be “the voice of the people,” expressed through mass resistance.

“Just like on the campaign trail, it was as though solutions could not be discussed. The only theme was: Trump bad,” wrote Kate Andrews in The Spectator. At one point, Harris began discussing viral video footage of elephants in the San Francisco zoo during an earthquake as she gave her signature cackle.

Solutions failed to emerge even when promised. “On Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m., I will deliver a speech talking to the country about the first 100 days and outlining a blueprint for a better America,” House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) told his fellow Democrats in a “Dear colleague” letter released Monday morning.

But much like Beyoncé’s rumored concert at the Democratic National Convention or at a future Kamala Harris campaign rally, the agenda failed to take place. The closest America got to seeing a concrete Democratic agenda came by way of a pledge the party would unveil its designs by the first week of August.

During the speech, Jeffries said, “Over these next 100 days, House Democrats are going to lay out a blueprint for a better America,” a “vision for this country’s future that isn’t about Donald Trump. It’s all about you.” Until then, Democrats “will continue to push back aggressively.”

Instead, Democratic leaders unleashed a rhetorical battery on the president. “Donald Trump and the Republicans have given us 100 days of chaos, 100 days of cruelty, and 100 days of corrupt behavior,” declaimed Jeffries, who called the administration a “debacle.”

“It’s 100 days of just crap,” said Minnesota Governor and unsuccessful 2024 vice presidential candidate Tim Walz (D) on Tuesday.

“Donald Trump’s first 100 days have been 100 days from Hell,” said Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) on the Senate floor Wednesday.

Schumer revisited the Democrats’ unsuccessful 2024 campaign strategy of calling President Trump a fascist, saying the president is “acting like a king, a despot, a wannabe dictator.”

The closest Democrats got to specificity came when Harris saluted the actions of potential Democratic rivals, including:

  • Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.), who traveled to El Salvador to try to return a deported MS-13 member to the United States.
  • Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), who have hosted a series of “Fighting Oligarchy” events, one of which featured a blasphemous song from a trans-identifying singer.
  • Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas), who has made a series of racially charged statements about Republicans.
  • Maxwell Frost (D-Fla.), whose mother placed him in adoption, opposed a bill requiring abortionists to provide life-saving care to newborns who survive botched abortions, claiming the bill violated the rights of “child-bearing adults,” and claimed the Parents Bill of Rights would cause “hate, bigotry and, yes, sometimes death of our students.”

“Don’t be fooled by the so-called unified front, because Democrats are anything but unified at this point,” Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-Wis.) told “Washington Watch” guest host and former Congressman Jody Hice Wednesday.

Tiffany pointed to Democratic governors such as J.B. Pritzker in Illinois, Tony Evers in Wisconsin, and Tim Walz in Minnesota as failures where citizens have made a mass exodus and are “headed to the states largely run by red state governors.” Pritzker “just basically doubled down” on the Democratic agenda: “‘We’re going to have boys in girls’ sports. We legalize marijuana in Illinois. That’s a great success. We legalized abortion.’ All these things they’re pointing as a success [are] the reason they were defeated on November 5.”

Despite media attempts to portray President Trump as uniquely unpopular as he approached his 100 days in office, including 92.2% negative coverage from the three major networks, only 2% of Trump voters would change their vote, according to CNN’s Harry Enten.

Meanwhile, both Schumer and Jeffries have net unfavorable ratings. Schumer has a 17% favorable and 40% unfavorable rating, including a 10% net unfavorable rating among young Democrats and Democratic-voting independents. Jeffries is also underwater: 20% favorable, 27% unfavorable. The results marked Schumer’s lowest rating in that poll since 2017, the first year of the first Trump administration.

“Senator Schumer is being dismissed by the American people because they know it’s just rhetoric. He’s not providing results for the American people,” said Tiffany. “President Trump is following through on what he said he would do last fall and what people voted for on November 5.”

Pollsters agree with the assessment that the Democrats appear rudderless. “The Democrats don’t really have a platform or authenticity to convince voters that all of a sudden they have an answer to MAGA,” Mark Mitchell, chief pollster at Rasmussen Reports, told Hice Monday.

In addition, Sanders and AOC’s polls look “not that great,” Mitchell remarked. “They are third, fourth, fifth when ranked against other Democrats” who may seek the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination. “They have no chance. Americans fundamentally think that free market economies are better. They’re not going to vote for open socialist candidates.”

“There’s a vacuum in the Democratic Party,” concluded Mitchell.

Kash Patel’s Pursuit of Truth Amid January 6th Satire

FBI Director Kash Patel is a man on a mission, a relentless force cutting through the fog of deception surrounding January 6, 2021. A recent report from the Dunning-Kruger Times claimed Patel seized the phone and bank records of Nancy Pelosi’s entire staff from that fateful day, alleging a conspiracy to frame patriots and smear the MAGA movement. But here’s the rub: the Dunning-Kruger Times is satire, a biting parody that exaggerates for effect. While the story isn’t factual, it channels a more profound truth—Patel’s unyielding crusade against the Deep State’s narratives makes him the kind of leader who would shake the foundations of the corrupt elite. This article sets the record straight while amplifying Patel’s righteous fight with the same thunderous conviction.

The satirical piece painted a vivid picture: Patel’s FBI combing through bank transfers, Venmo payments, and Uber receipts to expose Pelosi’s aides as orchestrators of January 6 chaos. It’s fiction, not reality—no such seizures have been documented. But the story resonates because it captures the spirit of Patel’s war on the establishment. He’s not chasing coffee receipts or coded texts; he’s targeting the lies that have festered since that day. The Deep State wants you to believe January 6 was a simple riot, a spontaneous act by rogue Trump supporters. Patel knows better, and so do we. The Capitol events were exploited to vilify patriots. While the Dunning-Kruger Times took creative liberties, its satire underscores a real suspicion: the official narrative stinks, and Patel’s the man to blow it apart.

Patel isn’t deterred by satire or smears. A former prosecutor, National Security Council warrior, and author of the Nunes Memo, he has built a career dismantling the establishment’s hoaxes. From exposing the Russia collusion farce to defending January 6 defendants through his Kash Foundation, Patel has proven he is a patriot who fights for the forgotten. The Dunning-Kruger Times may have spun a yarn, but it’s not hard to imagine Patel leading a charge to uncover the truth about January 6. He has faced down the DOJ, shrugged off media hit pieces, and stared into the abyss of grand juries without blinking. This man thrives in the crucible, and the idea of him seizing records to expose a Pelosi-led plot fits his relentless character, even if it is fictional.

Let’s talk facts: Patel’s real work is just as explosive. As FBI Director, he’s positioned to delve into the murky details of January 6—not with satirical flourishes but with hard evidence. The House January 6 Committee, packed with Pelosi loyalists, pushed a one-sided narrative, ignoring inconvenient truths such as the FBI’s informants in the crowd and the questionable role of Capitol security. Patel doesn’t need to chase Venmo payments to know something’s rotten; he can demand answers from agencies, subpoena documents, and grill bureaucrats hiding behind “classified” stamps for too long. The Dunning-Kruger Times may have exaggerated, but it’s not wrong about one thing: Patel terrifies the swamp.

The establishment is desperate to downplay the complexities of January 6. They scream “insurrection” to silence dissent, but Patel isn’t buying it. He’s seen how the Deep State operates—staging crises, twisting facts, and weaponizing power to crush opposition. The satirical report called Pelosi the ringleader of a cabal, and while that’s hyperbole, her influence over the January 6 narrative is undeniable. She handpicked the committee, controlled its scope, and ensured it buried anything that didn’t fit the “Trump’s fault” script. Patel’s fundamental mission isn’t about seizing staff records; it’s about dismantling this rigged system, exposing every lie, and giving voice to the millions who feel betrayed by their government.

The left is already howling, dismissing Patel as a Trump loyalist. Let them. Loyalty to truth, the Constitution, and the American people—that’s what drives him. The Dunning-Kruger Times story, though fake, shines a spotlight on why Patel’s enemies fear him: he’s unstoppable. His book Government Gangsters names the corrupt; his actions shame them, and his leadership at the FBI will bury them. The satire got the details wrong, but the vibe was right—Patel’s a warrior, and the Deep State’s on notice. Every dodged question, every shredded document, and every shady deal from January 6 will face his scrutiny. The American people demand answers, and Patel’s delivering them with a sledgehammer.

So let the satirists spin their tales. They’re merely echoing what patriots already feel: the system is broken, and Kash Patel is the man to fix it. The Dunning-Kruger Times may have fired a fictional shot, but Patel’s real battle is a revolution of truth. He’s not hunting Pelosi’s aides with a dragnet; he’s hunting the lies that have poisoned this nation. The swamp is trembling, and they should be. Patel is coming, and he’s bringing hell with him. The truth will out; when it does, the architects of January 6’s narrative will wish they’d never underestimated the man who dared to fight.

‘Cost A Lot Of People Their Jobs’: JD Vance Slams Biden Admin For Deciding Products Would No Longer Be Made In America

Vice President JD Vance on Thursday slammed former President Joe Biden’s administration during a speech at Nucor Steel Berkeley for deciding that products would be made overseas instead of in the United States.

Vance said that over the last few decades, political leaders forgot about the “core part of American national identity” by allowing the U.S. to rely on foreign powers for essential goods. The vice president said manufacturing facilities like Nucor immensely struggled over the last four years due to the Biden administration’s “crushing environmental regulations.”

“For a couple decades, though, our leaders forgot about that core part of American national identity. They decided that America would no longer be a manufacturing power,” Vance said. “Instead, we let the rest of the world make the necessary things that we needed for our homes and for our families. And when a nation decides to deindustrialize my friends, you know what else they stop using? The intermediate goods, the things that are essential to manufacturing, like steel that you all make right here in Nucor. So we stopped making the things that we needed.”

WATCH:

Nucor Steel’s leadership told Vance that the company’s facility in West Virginia that “sat idle” under the Biden administration due to its environmental rules. The vice president said that these types of regulations cost hard working Americans their good paying manufacturing jobs and wages.

“So when our leadership decides that Americans don’t want to make anything, you know what we do? We cost great businesses and corporations like Nuccor a lot of money, we cost great workers their wages and we cost a lot of people their jobs. And that was the policy of the last administration that came before us.”

Vance added that President Donald Trump’s administration wants American architecture to be “built with American hands and with great American steel.”

The Biden administration strived to make manufacturing eco-friendly by handing as much as $6 billion to 33 different projects in 20 states in order for them to reduce emissions generated by industrial production in March 2024. In Trump’s second term, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin has repealed dozens of environmental regulations put in place by the Biden administration to lower costs and open up new job opportunities in the country.

The Trump administration placed reciprocal tariffs on other countries, which are currently under a 90-day pause, with the intent of returning manufacturing to the United States. Many union workers in the steel and auto industry have praised the administration’s move, stating that it will bring back jobs and help their industries flourish.

A Battle for the Soul of our Nation

We are in a battle for the hearts and minds of Americans; we are in a true battle for our future; a real battle to reclaim the gift given to us by our founders. This gift of liberty was purchased with great sacrifice, personally, financially, positionally. The men and women who gave us this gift understood well the gift of liberty is a gift directed by God, and that God’s gifts are worth our every effort to maintain. John Adams wrote to his dear friend and love, Abigail in 1777, “you will never know how much it cost the present generation to preserve your freedom! I hope you will make a good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in Heaven that I ever took half the pains to preserve it.”

We are in a battle for the hearts and minds of our fellow Americans, a battle for the very immediate future of our nation. We are in a battle to reclaim our culture. We have a very real choice to make and soon. Do we employ every effort to pass on the gift of Liberty to our very sons and daughters, our grandchildren or do we remain “comfortably numb” and believe someone else will fight the good fight? Is he perfect…NO! But we see daily how Donald Trump has come forward to fight the very fight to reverse the deliberate seduction encased in our schools, healthcare, elected officials, elections, economy and international relationships. We see daily how Donald Trump has come forward to steer our nation away from the cliff we are so close to falling over. Our nation at all levels has been infiltrated by people who are trained to subvert stealthily. The evidence mounts and appears most difficult to oppose although the Marxists and liberal establishment republicans sure take a good swipe at doing just this in spite of the evidence.

Already candidates are coming forward for the 2026 election. Do not be lulled by their political platforms and nicely conceived brochures. Demand the candidate presents evidence to demonstrate his or her verifiable positions to restore limitations to government and stand against federal overreach. What about the privilege granted by our founders for us to be independent sovereigns to not comply with unconstitutional laws and overreach, will they (the candidate) stand and be counted as our representative defending against such? The principle that limitations on the federal government are more than just a recommendation, more than mere rhetoric, and separation of powers must be viciously protected by all – especially elected officials sworn to uphold the constitution and WE THE PEOPLE. Federal overreach is a political disease with sobering consequences, and we must either attack the disease like our Forefathers demonstrated, or we will see the death of liberty. We must elect representatives at all levels local, county, state and national who do not merely talk-the-talk or come across as glib or smooth but pledge openly to push back against overreach. Failing to PROVE a measurable set of actions to combat such, these elected representatives agree to be replaced, and their agreement is in writing!

Our founders were not perfect; they were flawed vessels like you and me. The amazing thing is that our founders understood the foundation of an enduring nation must be Liberty, and that Liberty is maintained by citizens grounded in a shared morality. Benjamin Franklin rose on the floor of the Continental Congress and said, “…God Governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise (may I add, be sustained) without His aid?” Patrick Henry said, “millions of people, armed in the holy cause of liberty, and in such a country as that which we possess, are invincible by any force which our enemy can send against us. Besides, sir, we shall not fight our battles alone. There is a just God who presides over the destiny of nations, and who will rise up friends to fight with us.”

Donald Trump walked into a major, massive battle raging to alter and then abolish our nation. He walked into a set of rising tides of corruption, greed, deceit, and gross immorality set into place to overwhelm the bulwarks erected by our founders. It will require courageous and tireless efforts to return this nation to balance. Leaving it to someone else will certainly cost us irreparably. Will you come forward like our founders? Will you become uncomfortable and take a public stand holding officials accountable? Daniel Webster said, “Is our Constitution worth preserving? Guard it as you would guard the seat of your life, guard it not only against the open blows of violence, but also against the spirit of change….”

Trump Nominates Mike Waltz For UN Ambassador, Confirms He’ll No Longer Serve As National Security Advisor

President Donald Trump announced Thursday that he is nominating National Security Advisor Mike Waltz to be his ambassador to the United Nations after reports that the top official would be departing his role this week.

Trump also wrote that in Waltz’s absence from his national security role, Secretary of State Marco Rubio will serve as interim National Security Advisor. Ahead of Trump’s post, it was reported that Waltz would soon depart as National Security Advisor after the president and top aides had grown frustrated with his tenure.

“I am pleased to announce that I will be nominating Mike Waltz to be the next United States Ambassador to the United Nations. From his time in uniform on the battlefield, in Congress and, as my National Security Advisor, Mike Waltz has worked hard to put our Nation’s Interests first. I know he will do the same in his new role,” Trump wrote.

“In the interim, Secretary of State Marco Rubio will serve as National Security Advisor, while continuing his strong leadership at the State Department. Together, we will continue to fight tirelessly to Make America, and the World, SAFE AGAIN. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” the social media post continues.

Waltz originally came under fire after The Atlantic published a story revealing that its editor-in-chief and longtime Trump rival had been accidentally added into a text group chat dedicated to discussing pending strikes on Houthi rebels in Yemen. The president expressed support for Waltz at the time, but since then the former National Security Advisor has been on shaky ground with the president, sources told CNN.

Despite his best efforts to fight for his job this week, Waltz’s standing with the president and top aides never recovered, sources told CNN.

After “Signalgate,” several members of the National Security Council were ousted. Activist Laura Loomer had visited the Oval Office before the firings and presented Trump with research she had on staffers indicating they were not loyal to the president, Axios first reported.

Waltz also struggled to get along with other White House staff, Axios reported, and Vice President JD Vance had previously counseled him on “working more collaboratively.”

“He treated [Chief of Staff Susie Wiles] like staff and didn’t realize he’s the staff, she’s the embodiment of the president,” one official told Axios. “Susie is a deeply loyal person and the disrespect was made all the worse because it was disloyal.”

But trouble may have been brewing for Waltz even before “Signalgate,” as sources told Semafor that Waltz’s traditionally hawkish views on national security caused tension between officials with non-interventionist view points.

“President Trump lost confidence in him a while ago,” once source told CNN.

Musical Chairs At The White House

My guess is, we will know over the weekend whether the firing of National Security Advisor Mike Waltz heralds a shift in Trump policy, or was merely a personnel decision.

Trump hinted it was the latter just days after Waltz’s deputy, Alex Wong, invited a jounalist to an encrypted Signal chat.

Speaking to reporters on Air Force One on April 3, the President applauded his national security team for their “big success with the Houthis,” but added this: “Always, we’re going to let go of people we don’t like, or people we don’t think can do the job, or people who may have loyalties to somebody else.”

And the fact that Waltz was not exiled to Outer Slobovia but sent instead to New York as our United Nations representative, argues that the President continues to respect Waltz and his bold advocacy of America First positions.

That is not the case with Steve Witkoff, one of several people whose names have been floated as Waltz’s successor. Remember that during his first negotiating session with the Iranians Witkoff said it was just fine and dandy for them to retain their uranium enrichment capabilities, just as long as they limited it to 3.67%.

As I have said before, that is like handing them the keys to a dual-motor Tesla and expecting them to keep it below 30 mpH.

Witkoff was summoned back to Washington after he made that statement and was given a very public dressing down by the entire national security cabinet, after which he “remembered” that the President himself had said the Iranians had to totally “dismantle” their nuclear programs, just like Qaddafi did in Libya.

Witkoff is one of many Trump supporters who, while well meaning, have zero experience or understanding of foreign policy. This week, for example, you had Charlie Kirk opining on X that Trump cabinet members and think tankers who opposed a Witkoff-negotiated Iran deal were evil “neo-cons” and “anti-MAGA.”

That kind of talk simply ignores the physics of uranium enrichment, as well as the history of Iran’s forty-year slow walk to a robust nuclear weapons capability.

As I relate in my new book, The Iran House: Tales of Revolution, Persecution, War, and Intrigue, the Iranians explicitly designed their nuclear program to be able to manufacture nuclear weapons, using the “legend” of nuclear power to disguise their intentions.

As one Iranian official told me at an international conference where I presented a paper on Iran’s nuclear weapons program already in 1995 (see Chapter 8), the regime intended to “keep its options open” by developing a robust uranium enrichment capability.

If anyone had any doubts as to their intentions – as the US intelligence community continues to harbor – then Exhibit A was Iran’s rejection of a proposal by then-Russian President Boris Yeltsin to give them a 10-year supply of uranium fuel rods for their one nuclear power reactor and to reprocess them in Russia, all for just $30 million.

Instead of taking the deal, the Iranians pursued their plans to master the entire nuclear fuel cycle, building uranium mines, mills to transform the ore into yellowcake, a uranium hexafluoride plant to transform the yellowcake into a gas, and then multiple centrifuge plants to enrich the gas by spinning, efforts which cost them billions of dollars.

Over the years, the Iranians became increasingly skilled at designing newer and faster centrifuges, so that today they can spin up enough lower-enriched uranium to make a nuclear bomb in just one week, according to the International Atomic Energy Agency.

And they have enough lower-enriched uranium currently on hand to make 17 bombs in five months. Seventeen bombs! That’s not a nuclear weapon or two, that is a nuclear arsenal.

Oh, and let’s not forget that to preserve their “civilian” nuclear infrastructure, the Iranian regime has twice – twice – been willing to undergo an international embargo on selling its oil, which cost it $150 billion in lost revenues each time.

If they really had only wanted civilian nuclear power, why would they make such truly awful economic decisions?

No one who subscribes to bad nuclear negotiations has ever answered that question. And people like Charlie Kirk, Tucker Carlson, and Steve Witkoff are probably not even aware of the math.

I discuss this, as well as President Trump’s growing irritation over Putin’s unwillingness to negotiate an end to the Ukraine war, as well as what appears to be China’s capitulation in the tariff war, on this week’s Prophecy Today Weekend.

Canada’s Islamist Takeover: ‘It’s Open Season On Jews And Jewish Institutes’ — An Active Front In The Clash Of Civilizations

MEMRI Daily Brief No. 765

Media reports and videos on social media, immediately after the October 7, 2023 attack and to this day, document a significant segment of Canada’s Muslim community’s targeting, bullying, and trying to intimidate the Jewish community in the country, with disturbing protests often thousands strong. As one recent X post stated, “it’s open season on Jews in Canada.”

While the U.S. has had its share of extremist pro-Palestinian supporters, marching with signs, flags, and banners of Hamas, Hizbullah, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), and other terror groups, and targeting of the U.S. Jewish community, the size and scope of this phenomenon in Canada is even more pervasive and severe – and at times terrifying.

Since October 7, 2023, antisemitic incidents in Canada have increased by 670%, and members of the Jewish community have said they feel abandoned by the government. At the same time, Canada’s Muslim community constitutes 4.9% of the population, and in some cities, including Toronto, it is rapidly approaching 10% – and in the Greater Toronto Area it is 12%-14%; the Canadian Jewish community is less than 1% of the total population.

The growing problem of support within Canada for jihadi groups, which is well documented on social media, has been growing in size and scope for a decade, and the virulent antisemitism and hatred for Israel on full view at these protests is only part of the protestors’ ideology. In addition to the frequent calls for the destruction of Israel, the U.S., and Canada itself, there are calls for jihad and martyrdom. As this phenomenon continues to play out daily, there is a need for some pointed questions about who these protestors actually are. They should be named and exposed, and any who have so far broken laws with impunity should face consequences.

Violent Attacks On The Jewish Community: Schools, Synagogues, Senior Citizens

Self-identified Canadian Muslim supporters of designated terrorist organizations, including Canada’s own Samidoun, a PFLP affiliate, have taken to the streets in full force targeting the Jewish community. They do this not only through aggressive and often frenzied protests, but also through recurring vandalism.

In the past year, this vandalism has included swastikas and graffiti at synagogues – in some cases as many as seven times – along with broken windowsarson attacks against community centersJewish schoolsschool propertymore than one instance of firebombingharassment of and physical attacks on Jewish elementary school students as well as university students and college campusesmultiple instances of gunfire; harassment of worshipers and theft of religious artifacts; shouting for violence against Jews outside Jewish hospitals and chanting support for “the resistance” – i.e. Hamas and Hizbullah – outside Jewish old age homes; picketing Jewish restaurants with terrorist flags; and delivering death threats to Jewish business owners. Just earlier this month, Mohamed Ilyess Akodad was charged with arson and related criminal offenses following his arrest for the December 2024 firebombing of a synagogue in a Montreal suburb.

Mobs have even thronged Jewish residential neighborhoods, going door-to-door to intimidate residents.

Recent Muslim Immigrants Call For Jews Whose Families Have Been In Canada Since The 1760s To “Go Back To Europe” Express Support For Hamas And Hizbullah

Participants in these violent Canadian protests comprise network of jihadi and Islamist sympathizers across the country best described as vile for what they stand for and how they express it. In Montreal, shortly after October 7, 2023, Canadian imam Adil Charkaoui called on Allah to “kill the enemies of the people of Gaza,” shouting “Destroy the Zionist aggressors… Allah, count their number and slay them one by one, and spare not one of them,” as the crowd repeated “Ameen.” Charkaoui had been arrested in 2003, and was alleged to have trained at an Afghanistan camp, but was never formally charged.

A typical protest in Canada features calls for ‘”jihad,” chants of “Jews go back to Europe,” and even “death to Canada,” as participants wave signs and banners with swastikas and the Hamas red triangle, used by Hamas in its videos to mark its targets. These keffiyeh-covered activists and Islamists harass Jews, including children and the elderly.

On a number of occasions, some have dressed up as Hamas fighters, including at universities, and re-enacted the “martyrdom” of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, including in Jewish neighborhoods. At their public rallies, they chant their support for the October 7 attacks and give Nazi salutesAt one Toronto rally, protestors praised Sinwar and another slain Hamas leader, Ismail Haniyeh, as well as “resistance fighters.”

Pro-Palestinian rallies in Canada have also featured “kids’ intifada corners” where children, including toddlers, can dress up as Hamas fighters and speakers tout the importance of teaching children to support “the resistance.” Little children are often a feature of rallies and protests.

Mosques Hold Commemorations For Hizbullah Fighters And Iranian Jihadi Figures

The widespread support for Hamas in Canada over the past few years is accompanied by increasing signs of support for Hizbullah and other U.S.- and Canada-designated terrorist organizations, and for Iran. A January 7, 2025 memorial service at the Ahlulbayt Youth Collective in Windsor, Ontario for “martyrs murdered by Israel in Lebanon” highlighted slain Hamas deputy leader Saleh Al-Arouri and Hizbullah officials, as teen boys saluted posters of these “martyrs” while the song “Salute, Commander” played. This is a song that exhorts young people to serve as soldiers for Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and to emulate jihad fighters. Also, a Toronto vigil on January 3, 2025 marking the fifth anniversary of the killing of Iranian IRGC Qods Force commander Qassem Soleimani featured protestors burning U.S., Israeli, and U.S. Marine Corps flags and chanting “Down, Down Trump” and “Death to America!”

Another commemoration in Windsor, for Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah, took place September 29 at the Ahlul Bayt Mosque, a leading Shi’ite Islamic center in the city. This mosque regularly holds memorial services for slain Hizbullah fighters; a previous mass memorial, on June 22, honored over a dozen Hizbullah fighters. The mosque also frequently glorifies Hizbullah on its Instagram account and promotes a Telegram channel providing minute-by-minute updates on operations against Israel by Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Hizbullah, and other terror organizations.

These celebrations of terrorism do not appear to faze local authorities: Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens was photographed at an event at the mosque in support of the family of a slain Hizbullah leader. In the photo, Dilkens stands next to Firas Al-Najim, a very active young supporter of the Iranian regime, who wore a scarf depicting Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

The Ahlulbayt Youth Collective memorial is only one reflection of the clash of civilizations that is growing by the day, not just in Canada and the U.S. but in Europe and Australia as well. As the speaker at the memorial said, in English: “We gathered today for loved ones who paid a price in this battle and in this war, the war of good versus evil… We hear from the evil side that this is not our fight to fight. They are wrong – this is the best time and the best fight.”

In fact, the Islamist and pro-jihadi Canadians see their actions of targeting Jews and others as engaging in a battle of “good versus evil” – with them on the side of good. Their actions reflect deeply held ideological beliefs which are not properly understood by law enforcement, government officials, and others responsible for addressing this threat.

Canadian Law Enforcement Comes Under Criticism For Inaction In Every Case Of Support For October 7 Attack, Amid Accusations Of Political Surrender

Canadian law enforcement has been criticized for inaction in the face of this hatred. Shockingly, video footage of some incidents shows police present but not intervening – and even arresting victims of antisemitic attacks or Jews who fight back. Not a single instance of deportation of extremist activist non-citizens has been reported since October 7, nor has a single mosque exposed as extremist lost its government-granted status. We have also been been unable to find a single significant prison sentence handed down for assaults or property destruction against Jews.

In March, Canada’s largest municipal police force, the Toronto Police Service (TPS), came under criticism for an official TPS podcast episode in which two Muslim liaison officers discussed the positive outcomes of the October 7 Hamas attack, saying that it had produced greater interest in Islam, including more people studying it and converting. The TPS later apologized and deleted the episode.

As disturbing as this law enforcement and judicial passivity is, what is even worse is the inaction or even acquiescence on the part of some of Canada’s political leaders. The government appears to be too timid to deal with this threat. When a “Vigil For Resistance Leaders,” titled “Lest We Forget Our Heroes” and commemorating “the great hero” Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, was planned by Canadian Defenders 4 Human Rights for November 26, 2024 at a public space in Mississauga, Ontario, the city’s mayor responded to calls for its cancellation by defending the event. Saying “Your terrorist and somebody else’s terrorist may be two different things,” she went on to compare Sinwar to Nelson Mandela. Ultimately, the event did not take place.

Terror Plots, Government Documents Warn Of Coming Lone Wolf Attacks Against Jewish Community

The Islamist protests and violent antisemitic attacks are just one aspect of Canada’s Islamist crisis; there is an omnipresent threat of major terror attacks in Canada as well. Terror plots are regularly disrupted by authorities, and the toxic brew of a growing jihadi threat in the country is reflected by the series of arrests over the past year of would-be terrorists and supporters of ISIS, Al-Qaeda, and other jihadi groups.

Actual terror plots against Jews have been foiled multiple times. In December 2023, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) arrested and charged “a young person” for “facilitation of a terrorist activity by communicating instructional material related to an explosive substance” and “knowingly instructing, directly or indirectly, a person to carry out a terrorist activity against Jewish persons.”

In July 2024, a naturalized Canadian citizen originally from Egypt – who is also accused of war crimes committed outside the country in 2015 – and his son who has refugee status were caught before carrying out their plan for a mass attack against Jews in Toronto. According to a Canadian MP, “we were within a hair’s breadth – minutes, hours or potentially days away – of a mass casualty event on the Toronto Jewish community.” The man who killed 14 people in New Orleans on New Year’s Day is also known to have travelled to Canada in July 2023; authorities are investigating.

Security guard Bezhani Sarvar was charged with firing multiple rounds from an assault rifle and throwing firebombs in Edmonton City Hall in January 2024, as a class of first graders was visiting. In a video manifesto recorded prior to the attack, he addressed “leaders and officials and anybody that has hands in” the “genocide that is going on in Gaza,” saying “Inshallah, we will rise against you.”

Also in January 2024, in Quebec, restaurant employee Ahmed May was arrested and charged with three counts of attempted murder, assault and obstructing police officers at his workplace. Immediately after his attack, he posted photos of himself in the restaurant pointing upward with his index finger in a jihadi gesture, with the words “Free Palestine.” Previously, he had praised Hamas on social media.

In July, the RCMP arrested a father and son, Ahmed and Mostafa Eldidi, on terrorism-related charges, including “participation in the activities of a terrorist group.” They were, according to the RCMP, “in the advanced stages of planning a serious, violent attack in Toronto.” That same month, a British Columbia woman was arrested and charged with terrorism offenses; according to the RCMP, she had left Canada and traveled to Syria in 2015 to join ISIS. And, in August, a “person from the Greater Toronto Area who was allegedly participating in the activities of a listed terrorist group” was arrested and charged with “participating in the activities of a terrorist group and “counselling another person to commit a terrorism offence.”

In March 2025, a Toronto man was convicted of criminal offenses for his threats a year earlier to “plant a bomb in every synagogue in Toronto and blow them up to kill as many Jews as possible.”

These arrests reflect the serious threat of an attack on the scale of 9/11 – not only in Canada but also in the U.S. and Europe – with the very real possibility that the Jewish community will be targeted. In one close call, a man arrested in Canada in September had sought to carry out the “largest” U.S. attack “since 9/11,” involving the “murder [of] as many Jewish people as possible” in New York, “all in support of ISIS.” The attack was planned for around October 7, 2024. Canadian lawyer and author Warren Kinsella wrote in the Toronto Sun about reports from the Integrated Terrorism Assessment Centre (ITAC) – the Canadian federal body assessing terror threats in the country – that were declassified in 2024; one stated: “Amid (rising) antisemitic hate, an undetected lone actor could commit an act of serious violence in Canada at any time.”

The very active PFLP-affiliated Samidoun organization, finally outlawed and designated as a terror group in Canada in October after it had been banned years ago by other countries, operated with impunity across the country, harnessing student movements to work for its Marxist and terrorist agenda and raising funds for the PFLP. As of this writing, it continues its activities wherever it is allowed.

Extremist Mosques And Imams Openly Incite Their Communities, With Calls For Violence – Including Calls For Jihad And Martyrdom, And Praise For Hamas And Hizbullah

Over the past year, MEMRI has monitored scores of extremist mosques and imams in Canada, documenting many of them flaunting their support for jihad, and openly and proudly posting videos of their lectures and sermons on social media for the world to see. Canadian authorities continue to avert their eyes from figures such as British Columbia’s Sheikh Younus Kathrada, known for labeling Canadian society “evil and filthy” and regularly calling for the annihilation of the Jews. He was even invited to speak in November 2024 at the University of Victoria by the Muslim Student Association, but once this became public and an outcry ensued, the invitation was rescinded. One of his recent sermons praised Sinwar and denounced young Muslims who do not follow in his footsteps; he has also called Jews apes, pigs, and vermin. Other sermons of his are explicit calls for jihad and martyrdom – in other words, incitement to young Muslims to carry out suicide attacks to gain the rewards of martyrdom, including “72 black-eyed virgins.” Despite being the object of mainstream media attention, Kathrada continues undisturbed by any government or legal action.

Kathrada is only one of the many extremist sheikhs in Canada who have openly mourned Hamas leaders responsible for the October 7 attack and other terror leaders eliminated by Israel. The main mosque in Hamilton, Ontario held a memorial service for Sinwar on October 18, 2024; the proceedings were broadcast by Qatar’s Al-Jazeera TV. Also, at the Islamic Centre of Southwest Ontario in London, on October 25, Canadian imam Munir El-Kassem eulogized Sinwar at length, saying: “What a beautiful lesson Abu Ibrahim [Sinwar] gave us. What a beautiful lesson.”

In the Vancouver area, in Coquitlam, imam Adnan, in his August 2, 2024 sermon, called jihad the “pinnacle of Islam” for which Allah has awakened desire. The “Jews – may Allah curse them,” he added, had killed “the martyr” Hamas “mujahid leader” Ismail Haniyeh – just as they had attempted to poison Islam’s Prophet Muhammad, according to a hadith. He concluded: “May Allah curse them and the Christians that are supporting them… [and] the Christian and atheist countries that are supporting them, the U.S., and everyone that is supporting them – may Allah curse you.”

Ayman Taher, chaplain at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto – Canada’s most research-intensive hospital and largest children’s health center – praised Hamas and its founder Ahmed Yassin in his December 18, 2023 speech at Toronto Palestine House. Focusing on children, he exhorted his audience to have their children watch an interview with Yassin predicting Israel’s end in 2027, because, he said, Yassin “never doubted that Allah is going to give victory to His religion, [and] we [also] should not, because he has inspired millions.” He was later suspended from his position pending investigation.

Imams in Canada are inciting not just against Jews but also against Christians. In his April 25, 2025 Friday sermon at the Toronto and Region Islamic Centre, following the passing of Pope Francis, Canadian Islamic scholar Abdullah Hakim Quick spoke about the arrogance shown by Christians in Arabia against the Prophet Muhammad, likening it to the attitude of Christians in the Vatican today, saying, “You see them with their clothing, their arrogance, and their splendor.” The Christians of Arabia were allowed to remain Christians, he said, but had to pay the jizya poll tax. Turning to Canada, he said that three things distinguish Muslims in the country from the Christian majority: Christians eat “swine flesh,” use “pagan symbols” like the cross, and have no modesty or shame. Adding that Jesus is alive, he said that He will return to rule over the Muslims, and will he will slay the pigs and break the cross.

Despite The Threat Of Radicalization, Foreign Extremist Sheikhs Regularly Visit Canada

Another problem is that mosques and other venues in Canada regularly host extremist imams and sheikhs from outside the country, from the U.S. and elsewhere, who are allowed to freely enter the country to speak to large audiences. In August, for example, a touring Saudi cleric, Assim Al-Hakeem, who had said that “3,000 Jews did not go to work ” on 9/11, was set to speak at a theater in Montreal, after an engagement earlier that month at a Winnipeg church. The Montreal event was eventually cancelled.

Muhammad Hijab, who has been condemned for inciting violence against the LGBT community, Jews, Hindus, and other groups, was scheduled to speak at a “Reviving Roots Conference” in Burlington, Ontario. The event was eventually cancelled following pressure from the community and politicians. The “2025 Khilafah [Caliphate] Conference” planned by the Islamist group Hizb ut-Tahrir Canada was initially slated to be held in Hamilton, Ontario before being moved to Mississauga, but eventually moved to online only, with no apparent consequences for anyone involved in it. This is despite the fact that Hizb ut-Tahrir is banned in many countries worldwide.

A Clash Of Civilizations Is Playing Out In Canada

The pro-Palestinian protests, often expressing outright support of designated terrorist and extremist groups, and the increasing extremism taking over the mosque pulpits – all from a bold new post-9/11 generation – are evidence of, in their words, a “clash of civilizations” between Islamists and Western society. Across the West – Canada, the U.S., Europe, and Australia – lines are being drawn, as children, teens, and susceptible young Westerners are indoctrinated in the virtues of jihad and martyrdom, and extremist sheikhs incite their followers to attack unbelievers. They demand that the Jews return to Europe, amid calls for “death to Canada” and to other Western countries where they reside.

Some Canadian government officials have proposed solutions to begin to address this challenge, including establishing and implementing a national plan to combat antisemitism and to protect Canadian democracy from pro-Hamas, pro-Iran, and jihadist movements. But to this day, no actual steps have been taken.

Canada is respected around the world for its welcoming of immigrants, its tolerance, and its vibrant multiculturalism. It has proudly accepted tens of thousands of refugees over the past decade from the Syrian civil war, and is reportedly now taking in 5,000 Palestinian refugees. Sadly, it appears to also be welcoming, as well as tolerating, those who seek to attack other Canadian communities, such as the Jews, and who also seek the destruction of Canada as we know it – with no ability to summon the will to change course.

VIDEO: In Rememberance of the ISIS Jihadi Attack on an Art Show in Garland, Texas on May 3rd, 2015

RAIR Foundation’s Amy Mek, thorn-in-the-flesh of fire-breathing, often inbred, Muslim Shariah Imams, is covering the 10th Anniversary of the first ISIS attack on U.S. soil, May 3, 2015, in Garland, Texas.

BOSCH FAWSTIN – “DRAWING MUHAMMAD”

Amy’s legendary videography, Vlad Tepes, is doing a series of interviews with significant counter-jihad warriors who have been kicking the ass of the
Muslim “Armani Suit” Brotherhood leaders in America.

This is the interview with Tom Trento, Director of The United West, who had his teamat Pamela Geller’s FREE SPEECH event and came under attack.

Watch Tom’s detailed and riveting explanation of this ISIS attack and then follow Amy Mek on X, as she interviews other warriors like Robert Spencer, Pamela Geller and Bosch Fawstin

Exclusive: RAIR Foundation sat down with Tom Trento, founder of The United West and eyewitness to the Garland jihad attack, in a hard-hitting interview where he warns Texans: if Islamic terrorists tried to kill us over a cartoon, imagine what they’ll do when you hand them power to govern your neighborhoods—wake up, Texas, before it’s too late.

Ten years ago, in a suburb of Dallas, Texas, Islamic terrorists opened fire on a free speech event because Americans dared to draw Muhammad. That moment — May 3, 2015 — should have been a turning point in the West’s battle against Islamic supremacy. Instead, it was quickly buried by media silence, political cowardice, and a deepening national amnesia of Islamic terror in America.

Just four months earlier, in January 2015, the staff of Charlie Hebdo in Paris were massacred by Islamic terrorists for publishing cartoons of Muhammad. Incredibly, within weeks of that slaughter, an Islamic group held a “Stand with the Prophet” event at the very same venue in Garland, Texas, calling for restrictions on free speech critical of Islam. In response, the American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI), Pamela Geller, and Robert Spencer resolved to host a counter-event in the exact location — one that celebrated, rather than surrendered, the First Amendment. That moment — May 3, 2015 — should have been a turning point in the West’s battle against Islamic supremacy. Instead, it was quickly buried by media silence, political cowardice, and a deepening national amnesia.

While the bullets in Garland failed to kill the First Amendment, the real threat never left. Today, that threat has evolved. It no longer arrives with assault rifles, but with land purchases, real estate development, city charters, and Sharia-based political influence. What jihad failed to accomplish with blood is now being pursued through bureaucracy. And Texas is ground zero.

In 2015, Bosch Fawstin, a former Muslim and bold critic of Islam, drew a cartoon of Muhammad holding a sword saying, “You can’t draw me.” Underneath, he wrote: “That’s why I draw you.”

Raising a Thinking Child in a World That Prefers Zombies

Here is another guest post — this time by my friend John Rosemond, the national parenting expert. (e.g., see his website and many good books listed there. This commentary is from his Substack on parenting…

Note: I’ve written a few times about the best way to teach children, etc. to be Critical Thinkers — e.g., here and here.

Parents, you’ve been lied to.

Schools aren’t teaching your kids how to think — they’re teaching them what to think.

Want to raise a real critical thinker?

First step: TAKE AWAY THE SMARTPHONE.

Second step: READ THIS. 👇

(Warning: Common sense ahead. Proceed at your own risk…)

A regular reader asks, “I have been reading about teaching children to think critically, but don’t really understand what that means and how, exactly, one teaches it to children. Can you help me?”

Hopefully, possibly, probably, and let’s give it a try and find out.

In a nutshell, a person who thinks critically has assumed he may be wrong about everything he believes and sets out to either prove or disprove that hypothesis.

To give a personal example, in my early 40s, I decided to put my belief in Darwin’s theory of evolution to the test. I grew up with parents—mother and stepfather—who taught Darwin’s theory at the university level and seized upon every opportunity to make sure I became one of his disciples, which I did.

I was maybe 42 when I decided to put Darwin to the critical thinking test. I began by doing a deep dive into books that contradicted his conclusions and argued for intelligent design—God, that is, albeit the authors in question were careful not to admit that the God of Judeo-Christian scripture is the ONLY alternative explanation that fits the evidence.

My new mentors—I began with several of Phillip E. Johnson’s books and continued my explorations from there—convinced me of several things:

  • Darwin was a genius and his theory was elegant.
  • Darwin lacked scientific knowledge that was not discovered until the later half of the 20th century, knowledge that would have caused him (because he was a genius) to believe in Supernatural Creation.
  • Since he published his theory in 1859 (On the Origin of Species), evidence that would support Darwin’s theory of trans-species evolution has been lacking to non-existent, and evidence that contradicts it has been abundant.
  • A 166-year-old theory that lacks a substantial body of confirming evidence is not worthy of further scientific efforts.

And so, at the age of 45, approximately, I rejected the atheism of my parents, embraced belief in God, and eventually became convinced that the creation account contained in the first two chapters of the Book of Genesis is completely factual (albeit not written in scientific language). I did not, however, come to believe in the Gospels until I was 50, but that’s a separate story.

That’s an example of critical thinking. I began my journey to theism by assuming that believing in Darwin’s theory required more proof than my parents had provided. Upon setting out to find that very proof, I came to the one conclusion that would have horrified them. Such is the nature of truth…it is often NOT what one wants to hear.

Children are not born critical thinkers, but they are born with the ability to become critical thinkers. Unfortunately, that ability is not being properly nurtured in the typical home and is definitely not being nurtured in today’s public schools (albeit some public school teachers do a fairly good job with it).

RABBIT HOLE: My wife and I were fond of telling our children, “Don’t tell us what other kids have that you don’t have and can do what we won’t let you do because in almost every case, that will only make it less likely that you will ever have or be able to do those things.”

That was standard parent practice until the 1970s, when parents decided, en masse (I applaud the increasingly rare exceptions), that their kids were not going to experience “deprivation” of any sort. And so, many of today’s parents think nothing of giving their kids mind-numbing “devices” when they are toddlers, and the numbing proceeds downhill from there. Quite simply, one cannot learn to think critically about the real world if one’s “world” is not real.

Concerning how to promote critical thinking skills, letting your child(ren) have “smart” devices (clever name, ain’t it?) is my top “DO NOT DO THIS” recommendation. And now, having gotten that out of the way, here are three “DO THESE INSTEADs”

  1. Help your child refine his thinking: When he tells you he thinks this about that, ask him, “Tell me how you came to that conclusion?” or a similar question that challenges his beliefs and opinions.
  2. See that he develops a musical skill: Teach or have someone teach him to play the piano, guitar, or (anything besides the glockenspiel). Learning an instrument opens up all sorts of cerebral pathways and…who knows?…may lead to a lucrative career in a heavy metal band. That was a joke.
  3. Put his critical thinking potential to work! Teach (or have someone else teach) him a trade skill like carpentry or plumbing. The trades are constant exercises in problem solving. Good stuff, and…who knows?…may lead to a lucrative career in constructing small nuclear reactors. Not a joke.

In conclusion, helping your child develop critical thinking skills is second only to helping him develop a self-deprecating sense of humor.

That wasn’t a joke, either.

DISLODGING THE BUREAUCRACY

It’s been two weeks since President Donald Trump’s deadline for government agencies to submit plans on downsizing their workforces and moving most of their functions outside of D.C.

We haven’t heard much about whether any agencies will actually be moving from D.C., but the idea is incredibly popular with conservatives for several reasons: the government could save money if employees are living in lower cost areas, it’s an easy way to downsize because a number of employees will quit rather than move, and the bureaucracy could be more efficient and make better decisions if it is closer to the people it governs.

This was the premise of a Steamboat Institute debate I moderated at Colorado Mesa University on Tuesday night. The resolution was, “Should more federal agencies, such as the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), be relocated outside Washington, D.C?”

Former Acting BLM Director William Perry Pendley, who oversaw moving the BLM headquarters to Grand Junction, Colorado, in 2019, argued the affirmative. He said the on-the-ground experience he had working with local experts and seeing the issues facing local citizens empowered him to be more confident in his decision-making. Mary Jo Rugwell, the president of the Public Lands Foundation and the former state director of the Bureau of Land Management in Wyoming, argued the negative. Rugwell felt that moving BLM leadership out of DC would lead to poor cooperation with other agencies and inefficiency in communicating decision-making to the executive branch, but acknowledged that it’s a worthy goal to try to shrink government and make it more efficient.

It was a well-argued debate and you can watch the entire thing for yourself here. My main takeaway, though, was that more government agencies should be structured like the BLM.

Even before it moved to Grand Junction (which Biden reversed during his presidency), 97% of BLM employees work in the western U.S, with really only agency leadership stationed in D.C. Ninety-nine percent of the land that the BLM manages is in the West or Alaska, so the staff reflect the area it governs. When Pendley relocated the BLM, he kept some public relations, communications, and government affairs staff in D.C. to handle cooperation with Congress and other agencies. Individuals who were doing their jobs well but did not want to move to Grand Junction were offered positions in other parts of the federal government.

Even Pendley, who is supportive of DOGE’s efforts to cull the federal workforce, said that most of the staff that he worked with at BLM were good at their jobs and were not involved in attempts to sabotage or undermine the Trump administration. I suspect that’s probably the case for two reasons: 1. There were fewer dyed-in-the-wool northern Virginia glowies in the workforce and 2. Bureaucrats were working on issues closer to home, ones that often superseded partisan politics.

BLM will always be unique in that land management is, again, not an issue that neatly cuts across partisan lines. However, the idea of decentralizing agencies while keeping a handful of positions required to negotiate budgets, advocate for legislation, or otherwise work with the legislative and executive branches, in D.C., seems pretty smart to me. It could lead to actual experts instead of just people who read white papers all day helping to make decisions on behalf of the American people. Plus, it might be harder to abuse your power if you are forced to delegate decision-making and don’t have tens of thousands of gung ho g-men housed in one building in the most corrupt city in the country.

Obama Judge Orders Release of Columbia ‘Student’ Jihadi Mohsen Mahdawi Who Boasted That He Killed Jews

According to Trump court filings, Mohsen Mahdawi told a Vermont gun store owner he had “extensive firearm experience” and used it “to kill Jews in Palestine.”

This is the Democrats’ cause celebre Radical judge Geoffrey W. Crawford.

Columbia student Mohsen Mahdawi is free on bail after judge orders his release from federal custody

Judge orders release of Columbia student Mohsen Mahdawi

By Chloe Atkins and Matt Lavietes, NBC News, May 1, 2025:

Columbia University student Mohsen Mahdawi is free on bail after a judge ordered his release from federal immigration custody Wednesday, weeks after armed DHS agents detained him in Vermont during his naturalization interview.

Mahdawi, a 34-year-old U.S. permanent resident who was born and raised in a refugee camp in the West Bank, was detained April 14 and had been held at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility, the Northwest State Correctional Facility, in St. Albans, Vermont.

“I am saying it clear and loud to President Trump and his Cabinet: I am not afraid of you,” Mahdawi said Wednesday outside the Vermont courthouse after his release.

“What we are witnessing now and what we’re understanding is exactly what Dr. Martin Luther King has said before: Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere,” he added.

From the bench, U.S. District Judge Geoffrey W. Crawford ordered the release of Mahdawi from prison on bail, pending the resolution of his habeas petition.

The government requested that Crawford pause Mahdawi’s release from prison for seven days by issuing a stay of the order, but the judge denied it.

Following Wednesday’s hearing, DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin issued a statement stating that the judge would not prevent the Trump administration from “restoring the rule of law to our immigration system.”

“It is a privilege to be granted a visa or green card to live and study in the United States of America,” she said. “When you advocate for violence, glorify and support terrorists that relish the killing of Americans, and harass Jews, that privilege should be revoked, and you should not be in this country.”

The Justice Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Why Stupid People are Destroying Society — The Laws of Human Stupidity

“Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.”

Hanlon’s Razor

What is responsible for the sickness of modern society? Is it the evil machinations of the power hungry? Is it due to a conspiracy of the ruling class? In this video, relying on the Italian historian Carlo Cipolla’s essay The Basic Law’s of Human Stupidity, we explore how much of what ails society can attributed to the widespread prevalence of human stupidity.

“The stupid are all around us: they are in every place, in every class, ready to cause damage to others and naturally to themselves. The stupid form the most dangerous category of human beings. Woe betide those who underestimate them.”

Carlo Cipolla, The Basic Laws of Human Stupidity

Cipolla believed that most of us are ignorant to the immense destruction caused by human stupidity. We easily recognize the effects of evil, corruption and greed, but we tend to overlook the damage caused by human stupidity. Cipolla wrote his essay to help correct for this blind spot, or as he wrote:

“The following pages are in fact the result of a constructive effort to detect, know and thus possibly neutralize one of the most powerful, dark forces which hinder the growth of human welfare and happiness.”

Carlo Cipolla, The Basic Laws of Human Stupidity

In his essay Cipolla enumerates five basic laws of human stupidity, the first of which states: “Always and inevitably everyone underestimates the number of stupid individuals in circulation.” The philosopher Voltaire echoed the sentiment behind this law when he wrote “Common sense is not so common.” While Einstein, in conversation with the German psychiatrist Frederick S. Perls, reportedly said “Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I’m not sure about the universe.”

Not only do we tend to underestimate the number of stupid people in society, but we also tend to underestimate the number of stupid people in our social orbit. We like to believe that members of our family, and those we socialize with, are smarter than average and it is only when they do something so incredibly stupid that it dawns on us that this person may in fact belong to the class of the stupid, or as Cipolla writes:

“No matter how high are one’s estimates of human stupidity, one is repeatedly and recurrently startled by the fact that: a) People whom one had once judged rational and intelligent turn out to be unashamedly stupid. b) Day after day, with unceasing monotony, one is harassed in one’s activities by stupid individuals who appear suddenly and unexpectedly in the most inconvenient places and at the most improbable moments.”

Carlo Cipolla, The Basic Laws of Human Stupidity

The Second Basic Law of Human Stupidity states that: “The probability that a certain person be stupid is independent of any other characteristic of that person.” The stupid are spread throughout all classes, ethnic groups, genders and races. They are found as frequently among the rich as the poor, they are found in politics and the business world, in academia and in science – there is, in other words, nowhere to hide from the effects of the stupid, or as Cipolla writes:

“Whether the Second Basic Law is liked or not, however, its implications are frightening: the Law implies that whether you move in distinguished circles or you take refuge among the head-hunters of Polynesia, whether you lock yourself into a monastery or decide to spend the rest of your life in the company of beautiful and lascivious women, you always have to face the same percentage of stupid people — which percentage (in accordance with the First Law) will always surpass your expectations.”

Carlo Cipolla, The Basic Laws of Human Stupidity

While there are more stupid people than most of us can imagine and while they occupy all walks of life, some may wonder how Cipolla defines human stupidity. This is explained by his third law. To understand this law, however, we need to explore a basic way of categorizing people. Firstly, there is the category of the helpless. The helpless person is one whose actions produce a loss for himself, but a gain for someone else. Secondly, is the category of the bandit. The bandit is a person whose actions produce a gain for himself, but a loss for another. The third category is that of the intelligent. An intelligent person behaves in such a way that they produce a gain for themselves as well as a gain for others. And finally, there is the category of the stupid and as the Third Basic Law of Human Stupidity states:

“A stupid person is a person who causes losses to another person or to a group of persons while himself deriving no gain and even possibly incurring losses.”

Carlo Cipolla, The Basic Laws of Human Stupidity

Often our behavior will oscillate between these different categories. Sometimes we act in a helpless way, sometimes like a bandit, while at other times our actions will be characterized by their intelligence. But the stupid are different. The stupid consistently harm other people, while not deriving a gain for themselves. Cipolla even identified a class of the super-stupid, who take their stupidity to another level. Unlike the run of the mill stupid person who hurts another person through their actions while deriving no gain or loss to themselves, the super stupid consistently hurt themselves, and others, through the way they behave.

The stupid and the super-stupid are a menace to society. They are responsible for many of our social problems and in some cases the havoc they wreck can lead to the downfall of a civilization. Most people fail to recognize this and so the Fourth Basic Law of Human Stupidity states:

“Non-stupid people always underestimate the damaging power of stupid individuals. In particular non-stupid people constantly forget that at all times and under any circumstances to deal and/or associate with stupid people infallibly turns out to be a costly mistake.”

Carlo Cipolla, The Basic Laws of Human Stupidity

Cipolla claims that the damage a stupid person causes is determined by two factors. The first factor is their innate stupidity. According to Cipolla, some people are genetically wired to act in profoundly stupid ways and the stupider someone naturally is, the greater the damage they will cause. The second factor determining the damage caused by a stupid person is the amount of power and social influence they possess. A stupid person who occupies a high-level position in government, the military, or in a large corporation, can cause far more damage than a stupid person who is unemployed. But how do the stupid reach such positions of power? Shouldn’t their stupidity prevent them from climbing the heights of social status? Cipolla explains:

“The question that reasonable people often raise is how and why stupid people can reach positions of power and consequence. Class and caste were the social arrangements which favoured the steady supply of stupid people to positions of power in most societies of the pre-industrial world. Religion was another contributing factor. . .But in lieu of class and caste we have political parties and bureaucracy and in lieu of religion we have democracy. Within a democratic system, general elections are a most effective instrument to insure the steady maintenance [of the stupid] among the powerful.”

Carlo Cipolla, The Basic Laws of Human Stupidity

Elections allow the great number of the stupid in the general population to determine which politicians hold office and very often they elect someone stupid like them. And once a stupid person is in office, he or she helps to maintain the proportion of stupid people in bureaucracies and the judicial system by appointing them to positions of power. Thus, democracy ensures that a continual supply of stupid people walk the halls of governmental power.

Another reason that stupid people are such a menace to society is that most of us fail to detect their stupidity and fail to put up defenses against their actions. In Cipolla’s view stupid people are far more dangerous than even bandits as at least with a bandit there is rhyme and reason for how they behave. The bandit wants to obtain a gain for himself, he is just not intelligent, or moral enough, to do it in a way that produces a reciprocal gain for someone else. But the bandit’s actions, even if immoral, are still rational and so somewhat predictable. Not so with the stupid, or as Cipolla explains:

“A stupid creature will harass you for no reason, for no advantage, without any plan or scheme and at the most improbable times and places. You have no rational way of telling if and when and how and why the stupid creature attacks. When confronted with a stupid individual you are completely at his mercy. Because the stupid person’s actions do not conform to the rules of rationality, it follows that: a) one is generally caught by surprise by the attack; b) even when one becomes aware of the attack, one cannot organize a rational defence, because the attack itself lacks any rational structure.”

Carlo Cipolla, The Basic Laws of Human Stupidity

And this leads to the Fifth, and final, Basic Law of Human Stupidity, which states “A stupid person is the most dangerous type of person.” (Carlo Cipolla, The Basic Laws of Human Stupidity)

The stupid impoverish society, ruin lives, including their own, and if they become too influential and occupy positions of great social power, such as a president or prime minister, social ruin is the inevitable result. Cipolla believed that the only way to prevent stupid people from ruining a society is if more people move from the classes of the bandits and the helpless into the class of the intelligent. For while the stupid lack the ability to change categories it is possible for the helpless and the bandits to learn to act in intelligent ways. And if there are enough intelligent people in society then their mutually beneficial actions will outweigh, or neutralize, the damage caused by the stupid.

Sadly, in the modern-day social forces are moving people in the opposite direction, away from the class of the intelligent into the classes of the bandits and the helpless. Paternalistic governments promote helpless behavior by minimizing the consequences for those who act in this manner. On the other hand, we have a social value system that elevates the attainment of wealth and material goods above all else which is creating such an insatiable desire for these things that many people have no problem acting like bandits to enrich themselves. Without enough intelligent people to neutralize the effects of the bandits and the stupid social collapse becomes an ever more likely possibility, or Cipolla writes:

“In a country which is moving downhill, the fraction of stupid people is [relatively constant] however in the remaining population one notices among those in power an alarming proliferation of the bandits with overtones of stupidity and among those not in power an equally alarming growth in the number of helpless individuals. Such change in the composition of the non-stupid population inevitably strengthens the destructive power of the [stupid] fraction and makes decline a certainty. And the country goes to Hell.”

Carlo Cipolla, The Basic Laws of Human Stupidity
