ROOKE: D.C. Republicans Prove The Swamp Is As Infested And Useless As Ever

After losing over and over again, state after state, to former President Donald Trump, Nikki Haley finally won a Republican Primary race in the District of Columbia.

If Republican voters were ever in doubt about whether Republicans in D.C. understand them and the issues facing everyday Americans, Haley’s win should solidify in their minds that they don’t. In the 2020 general election, D.C. voters overwhelmingly voted for President Joe Biden. Trump garnered just 5% of the vote in the district. The 2024 GOP primary was more of the same. Only about 2,000 people voted, and of that sampling, Haley won 63% of the vote to Trump’s 33%.

In open primary states, Haley has been able to hang on because Democrats are willing to jump the aisle to side with the “anyone but Trump” option in hopes their failing candidate, Biden, will be able to sneak out a win in November against a candidate adamantly rejected by the Republican base.

However, D.C. is not an open primary. Only registered Republicans can vote in the D.C. primary, making her win an eye-opener for voters about who is running the offices of the most important officials in the country.

Haley is not the base’s choice in Iowa, South Carolina, Michigan, Missouri, Idaho, New Hampshire, etc., but the D.C. political class overwhelmingly supports her. The people who think they know better than the Republican base about what issues and policies are good for them love Haley.

Chair of the D.C. Republican Party Patrick Mara and Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) at National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors Dan Schuberth perfectly encapsulated this point with their quotes about Haley’s win to Politico.

“This universe is a little more sophisticated than just about any universe in any other state,” Mara told the outlet. “I listen to the political podcasts in the morning. I read the newsletters throughout the day. That’s probably, like, half the people showing up at this.”

“You’ve got a really dialed-in political class,” Schuberth, who hosted Haley’s D.C. campaign stop, said. “You know, folks read POLITICO. They read The Hill. Folks here are reading the Washington Post.”

Mara and Schuberth are among the Republicans living inside the D.C. echo chamber who believe that reading mainstream media newsletters and political punditry, knowing all the people working on the campaigns and living in the district gives them a better understanding of what’s good for Americans. In the political class system, they would consider themselves at the top, while a family of six burdened by the economic and social repercussions of their hubris is an uninformed lemming.

Haley’s presidential campaign has been nothing short of a wish list for the old guard of the Republican Party that flies in direct contrast to the new GOP. Middle America does not want to send their boys to fight in another endless war in the desert, where death is inevitable. Parents are disgusted with the state of the U.S. education system, which acts as an indoctrination camp for far-left policies. Working-class Americans can not only see but feel how illegal immigration puts their families at risk, lowers their wages, and makes them compete for jobs that are rightfully theirs.

Trump captures the angst of everyday Americans in the way the Democrats used to do, while Haley campaigns like a Reagan-era Republican devoid of this insight. He stands up for these people, tells them it’s okay to recognize how these policies affect them, and promises to right the wayward ship once he’s back in office.

To disregard this reality the way the GOP political class does is why the base will take two steps forward and one step back. While at the state level, Republicans are fortifying election integrity, fighting back against open borders and killing the infestation of DEI, the D.C. swamp is terrified even to admit these issues are a problem, much less take the fight to the radicals implementing them.

It takes a level of ignorance and arrogance to tell Republican voters they can’t have the safe, prosperous country they grew up in. That their wish to have policies focused on putting Americans first isn’t popular or winnable when Trump beats their preferred candidate, Haley, into the ground in every state, gaining momentum with each victory. He’s a political force not just because of his one-liners and smash-mouth style of campaigning but because he gave a voice to the base when everyone else told them to forget their patriotism, forget their American dream and instead bow down to the global machine ruining their country.

ROOKE: Trump Needs An Ultimate Wingman As His VP — The Pick Couldn’t Be More Obvious

Who former President Donald Trump picks as his running mate is one of the most anticipated announcements in the 2024 election season.

It can’t be just anyone because Trump can’t afford to have another vice president serving in the role who doesn’t wholeheartedly embrace the America First movement. It’s his entire platform. The policies are as important to Trump as they are to the base pushing him through his primary race.

Former Ambassador Nikki Haley, the last obstacle to Trump’s nomination, lost to the “none of these” option on the ballot in Nevada, erasing any doubt that no matter how many “Independents” or “Democrats” show up to vote in the GOP primary, the old Republican Party is dead on arrival.

The base wants Trump. They want him to come back into the executive branch and wreak havoc on the entitled ruling class that jailed political prisoners, sent billions overseas while our economy collapsed, closed down pipelines, pushed DEI over safety and left the U.S. border wide open for terrorists to enter.

To them, it’s 2016 again, but on steroids. Trump’s VP pick needs to reflect this. Enter Vivek Ramaswamy.

After his defeat in Iowa, he dropped out of the race and immediately endorsed Trump for president. On the campaign trail, he’s an asset. He knows how to talk to the base in ways they connect with and want to listen. As far as optics go, Ramaswamy is handsome, and his wife is beautiful. Their family picture is wholesome. His young children mean he’s got skin in the game. Whatever happens to America, happens to them. It’s everything that most politicians wish to portray but can’t because they rely on the corrupt Washington D.C. echo chamber for their image.

Still, similar to how America got former Vice President Mike Pence, Trump needs someone who speaks to the middle. This is where Ramasway will thrive. On the campaign trail, when activists would crash his events, Ramaswamy calmed them and invited them into the fold. Trump needs someone to settle the ruffled feathers for him without diminishing him.

While Trump is the general moving the chess pieces and being the face of the war the base wants to rage, Ramaswamy would be the major ensuring the men follow orders. No one galvanizes the base like Trump, and Ramaswamy seems to know his role would be to support, not overshadow.

While these other candidates for the VP position have shown they can use the power of the America First movement to get elected in their respective states, most of them still lack the understanding that to be effective, Trump can’t be undercut. The movement can’t afford another defector.

On the presidential campaign trail, Ramaswamy took a different approach to all the other candidates. He embraces all the parts of Trump that were good for the American people. He talked about the issues surrounding the former president without demonizing him. It was essentially a masterclass in handling a base scorned by the ruling class.

Most of the Republican candidates seemed to be confused about how to approach Republican voters when it came to the political indictments against Trump. But one thing is sure: the last thing a candidate should do to the people who were forced to eat the pain of the 2020 election and all its integrity issues is to pretend it wasn’t happening.

Ramaswamy came out fighting. He promised to stay off the ballot in Colorado as long the state refused to allow Trump to run as a candidate. He not only pledged to pardon Trump if he was convicted of any of the charges against him, but he vowed to wage war against the people and agencies responsible for the political persecution.

His fellow Republican candidates could be correct in their attacks that Ramaswamy’s presidential campaign was essentially him auditioning for the open vice president position.

But the jokes on them.

The biggest shock is that any of them ran at all. For those outside the D.C. consultant class, there was never anything more obvious than the reality that Trump would always be the nominee. Whether it’s Ramaswamy or not, the important thing Trump’s VP needs to know with every part of him is that he isn’t there to run the country for Trump but to be the enforcer.

Kari Lake Reveals If She Would Accept VP Slot Under Trump

Republican Senate Candidate Kari Lake of Arizona demurred when asked if she would serve as former President Donald Trump’s running mate Monday evening.

Speculation about who Trump would select as his running mate increased after Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis dropped out of the Republican primary race Sunday in a video posted on X, formerly known as Twitter less than a week after Trump won the Iowa caucuses by a record margin. Lake deflected when Fox News host Jesse Watters asked if she’d accept the vice-presidential slot on the ticket.

WATCH:

“I see myself in the Senate and helping America, to secure our border and make Arizona a safer and better place to live in the U.S. Senate,” Lake told Watters.” I’m here in New Hampshire right now helping President Trump and I really want to get him back in office, but I think we need to make sure, not only do we take back the White House, but we have got to have the majority in the Senate.”

Lake is running for the Senate seat held by Independent Sen. Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona, who is also facing a challenge from Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego of Arizona.

“If we don’t have the majority in the Senate, can you imagine how hard it’s going to be for President Trump to get things done?” Lake asked Watters. “And this outrageous ruling by the Supreme Court just proves we need a law to build the wall and secure the border. We need a law to finally stop people from pouring across our border and destroying our country. That’s what I’m willing and able to do, and starting on day one I’m going to help President Trump do that.”

Nearly 380,000 illegal immigrants have been encountered at the U.S.-Mexico border during the first two months fiscal year 2024, which started Oct. 1, according to data released by United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP), following 2,045,838 encounters in fiscal year 2023, 2,206,436 in fiscal year 2022 and 1,659,206 in fiscal year 2021. Another 302,000 illegal immigrants entered the United States in December.

Trump vs Cruz Feud and Handyman Irv

The MSM eagerly anticipated Cruz responding to Trump bringing up the issue of Cruz’s eligibility to be president. The MSM hoped Trump’s comments would launch a war of words between the two GOP front-runners. To the MSM’s chagrin, Ted Cruz wisely did not respond to Trump’s remarks. The MSM loves to get GOP contenders at each others throats rather than informing voters of Hillary’s and Obama’s moral, cultural and unconstitutional crimes against Americans.

The MSM hoped a Cruz vs Trump feud would spark talk radio to trash Trump, thus knocking Trump from atop most polling hills. I pray talk radio does not begin trashing Trump. While Cruz is my guy for president, I refuse to trash Trump. As a matter of fact, I am extremely grateful to Trump. Trump has played a huge role in freeing up the tongues of GOP presidential contenders.

Obama, Democrats and the MSM urinate on us daily while telling us it’s only rain and is good for us. I was among those angry, frustrated and hurt Americans who wanted to metaphorically slap the arrogance off the faces of Obama’s Democrat and MSM operatives. Unapologetic, Trump repeatedly slapped them. Americans of all stripes cheered; winning Trump massive instantaneous, enthusiastic and loyal supporters. Clearly, there’s a new sheriff in political town and his name is Donald Trump.

The MSM would have you believe that if racist, sexist, rich dude, Trump is the nominee, Hillary is a shoe in winner of the WH. Hogwash! Polls show that support for Trump crosses all demographics. I witnessed the Trump phenomenon on display in my politically clueless longtime amateur handyman Irv who is shockingly excited about Trump running the country.

Irv is a scruffy looking white guy in his late 40’s; a self-taught electrician and mechanic. Irv lives with his welfare mom and sister in a drug and crime infested neighborhood. Irv worships Obama for giving him a free phone and for caring about the little guy. Irv loves Obama for taking from evil selfish rich people to give to needy people like him.

I know. I know. Irv sounds like a political idiot. However, I like him. You can imagine my surprise witnessing Irv bubbly with excitement about Trump making America great again. Irv has always struck me as someone who does not giving a rat’s derriere about his country. I thought Irv only cared about government freebies. “Trump is gonna clean this mess up!” said Irv. This told me Trump has birthed something truly magical in the 2016 race for the WH.

Ironically, Trump has even paved the way for Ted Cruz. Ted Cruz has been fearless and steadfast in his efforts to defend, preserve and restore freedom and liberty. Both the MSM and GOP establishment, to an extent, successfully branded Cruz a bit extreme in the arena of professional political decorum.

Trump’s non-conventional, no-holds-barred, common man and straight talk brand of politicking suddenly makes Cruz appear not so radical. Cruz’s polling continues to rise, even beating Hillary

Displaying class, character and wisdom, Cruz’s rise has everything to do with substance; who he is and what he intends to do day one as president. Cruz has risen high in the polls without playing the MSM’s (Democrat operatives) game of “Trash Your Fellow Republicans.”

As much as I like Trump and would enthusiastically vote for him if he wins the nomination, Ted Cruz trumps Trump on substance, conservative credentials and presidential gravitas. Folks, when that 3am phone call comes, I want Ted Cruz answering it. When the Left wants to jail another Christian for not embracing sodomy, I trust President Cruz to say this ain’t gonna happen on my watch. With all due respect, Trump sided with those who threw Kim Davis into jail.

Realizing I sound like a broken record repeating myself. The crucial question in selecting our presidential nominee is who can we trust to remain true to conservatism when elected? Politicians will say whatever they think you want to hear to secure your vote.

As teenagers, my cousin and I were discussing girls while walking home from a Baltimore yaka-mein joint. He said, “Just tell them you love them.” I replied, “I can’t say that.” He looked at me like I was an idiot. But, I digress.

Ted Cruz’s list of confrontations with freedom grabbers; Obama, Democrats, GOP establishment and the MSM confirms we can trust him seated in the big chair in the Oval Office.

Fearful of Hillary, some Christians and conservatives believe Trump is our only hope for winning the WH. Consequently, they are bashing Cruz, calling him a wolf in sheep’s clothing; even claiming that Cruz is not conservative. Well for crying out loud, please tell me the GOP contenders who are more conservative than Cruz? Trump is certainly not among them.

Also, I think it is unwise to embrace the Left’s language and tactics to attack our candidates; portraying Cruz as the devil.

It turned me off big-time when GOP contenders began saying “amen” to the Left’s accusation that Trump is a racist for simply stating truth and common sense regarding securing our border. GOP contenders feeding into the Left’s bogus narratives is selfish, shortsighted and a betrayal of our party and the American people. Shameful.

Let’s put Ted Cruz in the White House folks.

Will You Play Your Trump Card in 2016?

This political season has started with a big bang. So far, we do not even have to pay that much attention to the boring Democratic side of this process. What we have at this writing is more than 16 serious candidates for the GOP nomination for President of the United States of America.

I cannot recall a time when we had so many candidates to choose from. We, of course have the typical white male candidates. But we also have many minority candidates representing the Hispanic community and the Indian (from India) community as well as a strong female candidate. The diversity of this field of candidates is staggering, indeed.

But so far, there seems to be one candidate in particular that seems to be garnering the attention of the media and the nation. That candidate is Donald Trump, of course The reason? Well, the reason is very simple. Donald Trump is telling it like he sees it. He is saying what is on his mind and what he believes the problems are. And he doesn’t care if some folks don’t like what he says or how he says it. He is sticking to his guns and the people of this country seem to be liking that.

Now some say that Donald should bow out of the competition. Make no mistake about it this fight for the GOP nomination for president of the United States of America is a competition. It’s a take no prisoners competition where the winner takes it all and he or she just might take the The White House. So there is a lot at stake and the professional politician knows there is a lot at stake because what they cannot have is an unpolished, non-politician ruining their chances of being the next President.

The professionals will say how raw Donald is and they will say how UN-presidential Donald is. They state that as President you have to be more diplomatic. They say that nobody takes him seriously. They say that Donald has no real chance at getting elected. They say that Donald Trump cannot beat Hillary Clinton in the November 2016 election. In short they all will say anything to discredit and to get rid of The Donald because they know that Donald Trump cannot be bought. He cannot be bribed and he cannot be persuaded because he is an honest man with a true American heart and that scares professional politicians’ on both sides of the political aisle.

After all, how can you control a man who is used to calling all the shots? How do you control a man who is self-made and doesn’t need nor want any insider money? How do you control a man who already wields tremendous influence and power around the world in business and political circles? You can’t. They can’t. Let me suggest something for the professionals out there running for high office. Take note of Donald Trump and take note of how the voters seem to be supporting him. Take note that the American people are following him in growing numbers because the American people like the fact that he is not polished.

They know he is brash and bombastic and they know he is a little arrogant. They know he will do his best to clean house in Washington, D.C. if he is elected. They know that many world leaders would not want to negotiate with Donald because he would do what is best for this country and her people. I would suggest that the professionals begin to sound more like Donald and tell us the truth, not what they think we want to hear. Talk to us from the heart not what some poll data thinks we want to hear.

Be bold and bombastic and even a little arrogant in your presence and make the people believe that you are a strong leader that cannot be bought. Make the people believe that you are strong leader that cannot be persuaded and a strong leader that will look after the interest of the people of the United States of America and not their own selfish interest.

In return the American people will then follow you and the American people will reward you with higher office. The American people will back you and support you while in office and all it takes is for you to be more like Donald and less like, well less like you. After all, this nation was started and built by amateur statesmen and they built the most prosperous and most powerful nation this world has ever known. We have had professional politicians in charge for about 150 years or so now and look at the mess those professionals have made. Maybe it’s time we pick the men and women who are not so polished. and not so politically trained.

Maybe its time we choose a candidate with a little tarnish on them because they cannot do any more damage than what the professionals have already done.
