Buttigieg Defends Harassing Conservative Justices Over Abortion

It’s never an insurrection when your side is the one doing it. Just ask good ol’ Mayor Pete.

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg on Sunday defended protesters against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh who gathered earlier this week outside Morton’s steakhouse, where he was eating dinner.

Buttigieg’s boyfriend, Chasten, tweeted in response to the news: “Sounds like he just wanted some privacy to make his own dining decisions,” a shot toward Kavanaugh’s vote to overturn Roe v. Wade last month, ending a woman’s constitutional right to an abortion.

During an appearance on “Fox News Sunday,” moderator Mike Emanuel asked Buttigieg if his Chasten’s tweet about the incident was “appropriate.”

“Look, when public officials go into public life, we should expect two things. One, that you should always be free from violence, harassment, and intimidation,” Buttigieg replied. “And two, you’re never going to be free from criticism or peaceful protest, people exercising their First Amendment rights.”

Speaking out is a First Amendment right. Harassing people in their private life isn’t. There’s a huge difference between protesting outside the Supreme Court, and outside the homes and private gatherings of individuals.

Buttigieg isn’t very bright, despite trying to make that into his brand, but he knows the difference quite well and is being disingenuous when he pretends that he doesn’t.

“So, yes, people are upset,” Buttigieg concluded. “They’re going to exercise their First Amendment rights.”

If they were exercising “their First Amendment rights” outside Sotomayor’s cafe, the conversation would be quite different.

20 Threats a Day Leading Up to Super Bowl Sunday

San Jose Police Dept. will investigate up to 20 threats a day in the week leading up to the 2016 Super Bowl, to be held in Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, home to the San Francisco 49ers.

Depending on the threat, security officials will decide whether to send in a SWAT team bomb sniffing K-9’s, or one of the many security apparatus in place.

Here are some of the ways the security at Super Bowl 50 is panning out:

  • 90 Canine Teams of bomb-sniffing dogs will be employed. The dogs have also K-9 Corps training for the SuperbowlK-9 Corps training for the Superbowlbeen familiarized with sounds and vibrations of three different military helicopters that might need to be used to evaculate players in case of an incident.
  • 80 FBI bomb technicians with a mobile command vehicle operating remote-controlled robots that can analyze threats.  Bay Area bomb squads on stand-by.
  • Sniffer Box – a high tech sensing device that can detect a biological attack.
  • No Fly Zones over the stadium, F-15 on standby to escort a plane out (182 Cessnas were used to simulate a trespassing in weeks of training).
  • 24-hour/7-day ops – Security starts today, one week before the Super Bowl when the teams arrive. Every event leading up to the big game will be monitored. Sweeps for explosives will be made before each event.

Are Bombs Hidden Throughout America?

Is it possible Islamic terrorists have planted radioactive or biological bombs in cities across America?  I think it is highly probable.  Never before in the history of America have political leaders been so reluctant to fight our enemy (Islam and Muslim Terrorists).

Of course we do have a very weak leader as President and this has to factor into our passive reaction to Islamic terrorism.  Although Obama is weak, there are still Islamic terrorists who would have an advantage in America if they could blackmail U.S. politicians.

It is not very difficult to hide bombs with enormous explosive energy inside a small place.  It is not beyond the mindset of Muslim terrorists to plan ahead for mass casualties of their enemy. Remember the Boston Marathon bombing? A small yet very effective attack by Muslims.

Can Americans imagine what would happen if a dirty radioactive or biological bomb was planted in schools across the United States in shopping malls, or in major sports stadiums?

In 2011 CBS Reported on 160 Nuclear Bombs Hidden in America:

Attorney Tracy Rizzo was the recipient of one of 25 threatening letters claiming there are nuclear bombs hidden all over the country.

Attorney Tracy Rizzo was alarmed. A number of days ago, an envelope, with a Chicago postmark and a hand-written address to her private investigations firm, came in the mail.
The letter inside said, “The Al-Qaeda organization has planted 160 nuclear bombs throughout the U.S. in schools, stadiums, churches, stores, financial institutions and government buildings.” It also said, “This is a suicide mission for us.”

This theory is not a new concept or threat from Muslim terrorists.  If bombs are already planted in America, this of course hinders our ability to effectively fight Islamic based terrorism.

Hopefully a trustworthy journalist from a trustworthy media network will investigate this theory in greater detail and report the results to the American public.  The only hindrance is that America has few trustworthy journalists and even fewer trustworthy media outlets.

Red Dawn? They have nukes!

The following commentary on events on the Korean peninsula are from the Heritage Foundation:

North Korea on the Edge

Yesterday, North Korean officials warned foreigners in South Korea to leave that country. Today, the foreign ministers of the Group of Eight (G8) countries—the United States, Britain, Russia, Japan, Canada, France, Germany, and Italy—are meeting in London to discuss North Korea’s threats.

Americans are taking notice. CNN reports that “more than four in 10” Americans in a new poll say “they see the reclusive nation as an immediate threat to the United States…That’s up 13 percentage points in less than a month.”

Heritage’s experts have been following the threats closely—in fact, senior research fellow Bruce Klingner, formerly the CIA branch chief for Korea, warned of the growing risk of a clashin late March.

VIDEO: Watch North Korea experts explain where these threats are coming from

Klingner says in his latest paper this week that the escalating threats are new and “more dangerous”:

Perhaps most worrisome is that the regime’s threat du jour is occurring so rapidly. In the past, Pyongyang would issue a threat and then allow Washington and its allies time to respond, preferably by offering benefits to buy its way back to the status quo ante. The current rapid-fire threats conflict with previous North Korean behavior and reduce the potential for de-escalating the crisis.

A few things to note:

North Korea is capable of firing missiles.

Heritage’s Michaela Dodge warns that “North Korea can already hit Hawaii, parts of Alaska, and California. It can also hit U.S. forward-deployed troops in South Korea, Japan, and Guam…While the Obama Administration does not believe that North Korea is capable of hitting the U.S. with a nuclear weapon, the U.S. has a history of underestimating North Korea’s ballistic missile and nuclear weapons programs.”

The U.S. has already responded to the threats—but more commitment to missile defense is needed.

The United States has sent nuclear-capable B-2 and B-52 bombers, F-22 fighters, and Aegis destroyers to South Korea. The Obama Administration reversed just a few of its harmful cuts to missile defense, now that the President realizes those defenses might be needed. But at the same time, the Administration has cut half a billion dollars from missile defense. This is the wrong direction to take.

Diplomacy doesn’t work with Kim Jong-un.

Klingner recommends tough sanctions against North Korea and others violating U.N. resolutions. The U.S. should “resist the siren song” of engaging North Korea in talks, while backing up our allies with a sustained show of force.

We can’t afford to be wrong. As Klingner says:

North Korea is easy to ridicule…Its leader could well play the villain in a James Bond or Austin Powers movie. Self-appointed ambassador Dennis Rodman’s visit affirmed the image of the reclusive regime as the ultimate reality show. As such, the tendency has been to dismiss all North Korean threats as bluster. That would be a mistake.
