Far-left Politico enraged that Tuberville says ‘Islamists are the enemy’

Politico, like all establishment media propaganda organs, persists in assuming that Sharia is merely a set of “religious rules,” and that opposition to it is simply “bigotry” and “Islamophobia.” The fact that it is political, supremacist, violent and expansionist never, ever enters into their reporting. You’d almost get the idea that they’re trying to lull Americans into complacency regarding a genuine threat.

“Tuberville shares social media post suggesting Muslims are ‘the enemy,’” by Cheyanne M. Daniels, Politico, March 12, 2026:

Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) on Thursday shared a social media post calling Muslims “the enemy,” joining a growing number of sitting GOP members to share Islamophobic rhetoric.

Tuberville on Thursday retweeted a post that showed a picture of New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani sitting cross-legged on the floor surrounded by people that was juxtaposed with a photo of the Twin Towers in New York burning on Sept. 11, 2001. The caption of the original post read, “Less than 25 years apart.”

Tuberville added his own caption: “The enemy is inside the gates.”

A spokesperson for Tuberville’s office referred POLITICO to a separate post by Tuberville on Thursday that stated that calling Islam a “cult” doesn’t make someone an Islamophobe, among other things….

Sen. Tommy Tuberville: ‘Radical Islamic extremism’ is ‘from the pit of hell, and has no place in American society’

There is nothing radical or extremist about it; it’s mainstream Islam. Still, half a loaf is better than none. No one else dares to state this threat remotely as honestly.

“Tommy Tuberville: Radical Islamic Extremism ‘One of Greatest Threats,’ America Risks ‘Losing Its Identity,’” by Jasmyn Jordan, Breitbart, October 9, 2025:

Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) delivered remarks on the Senate floor warning that radical Islamic extremism continues to pose a grave danger to the United States, invoking past terrorist attacks and urging renewed vigilance against the spread of extremist ideology at home and abroad….

“Twenty-four years ago, September 11, 2001, nearly 3,000 innocent Americans were murdered in a coordinated terrorist attack carried out by radical Islamic extremism,” Tuberville remarked. “Those of us who lived through that day remember exactly where we were when those planes hit the buildings. That day changed this country forever.”…

Tuberville condemned what he described as policy failures that allowed suspected terrorists to enter the U.S., claiming that “thousands of people on the suspected terrorist watchlist were allowed to enter this country over the past four years.” He contended the ideology of radical Islam, combined with Sharia Law, was “anti-American” and called on other states to follow Texas in barring its implementation. “There is only room for one law in this country, and that’s the Constitution of the United States of America,” he asserted.

The senator referenced the October 7, 2023 Hamas terrorist attack in Israel, which left more than 1,200 people dead, including 40 Americans. He criticized members of Congress who he charged “refused to condemn these heinous crimes,” adding, “These two members were elected to represent American citizens. And they are sympathizing with Islamic terrorists instead.”

He drew comparisons to Europe, noting that the U.S. could face similar instability if it fails to act. “If we aren’t careful, the United States will look like Europe in ten years or less,” he cautioned. “Mass migration has destroyed their society. There is no freedom of speech, crime is through the roof, and openly antisemitic, pro-Hamas riots have become a regular occurrence.”

Tuberville also condemned the treatment of women in nations governed by Sharia law, describing practices such as forced child marriage and restricted education. “In Muslim countries that follow Sharia Law, it is considered normal for women to be raped, trafficked, and forced to marry as young as the age of six,” he said. “Everyone, but especially feminist groups, should be outraged about this horrible abuse of women.”

He cited reports of Christian persecution in Nigeria, claiming that “more than 62,000 Christians have been slaughtered since 2000 by radical Islamic terrorists.” He added, “This extreme ideology is straight from the pit of hell, and it has no place in American society.”…

On the Senate floor, Tuberville concluded his speech by urging immediate action to prevent the spread of extremist ideology. “Now is the time to act,” he implored. “Because if we don’t, we will lose this country as we know it. It will be gone.”

EXCLUSIVE: Longtime Trump Ally Morgan Murphy Strongly Considering Run For Open Tuberville Senate Seat

Morgan Murphy is planning on running for Republican Alabama Sen. Tommy Tuberville’s open seat after the lawmaker announced Tuesday that he is running for governor, two sources with direct knowledge of the plans told the Daily Caller.

The former college football coach announced that he will be running for governor of his home state Tuesday, leaving his Senate seat up for grabs in 2026. Contenders are already circling the seat, including White House and State Department senior adviser to Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg, Morgan Murphy, two sources told the Caller.

Murphy, a former national security adviser to Tuberville, caught national attention after he architected Tuberville’s stance against taxpayer-funded abortion, one source explained to the Caller. Currently a White House staffer, Murphy also served in the first Trump administration in the Pentagon as the press secretary to former Secretary of Defense Chris Miller.

“I say this having worked closely with him when he was one of my principal advisers when I was Acting Secretary of Defense during the first Trump Administration,” Miller told the Caller. “I’ve seen his mettle and calm, deliberate decision making skills under fearsome and unrelenting stress. Alabama and the Nation will be much better off with him in the United States Senate.”

Murphy is a reserve Navy captain and veteran of Afghanistan.

Also rumored to be considering runs are Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall and Rep. Barry Moore, a source familiar with the race told the Caller.

“I am honored to be in the conversation as Alabamians begin to look at who they want to represent them in the United States Senate,” Moore told the Caller in a statement.

“My family and I are praying and asking the Lord to guide us in this decision. As we seek His guidance, we’re listening to the people of Alabama and considering how we can best continue to serve this great state,” he added.

Auburn basketball head coach Bruce Pearl is also considering a run, one person told Semafor. Pearl is the chairman of the US Israel Education Association and was on Capitol Hill earlier in May, the outlet reported.

The general election for both the Alabama governor’s seat and Tuberville’s Senate seat will take place Nov. 3, 2026.

Trump Campaign Reveals Plans For 2023

Former President Donald Trump’s team announced their plans for 2023, laying out their “overwhelming” campaign strategy for the next presidential election.

The campaign is rolling out “top-level teams in early voting states” and expanding its “massive data operation” to “wage an overwhelming campaign that’s never been seen before,” the former president’s spokesperson, Steven Cheung, told the Daily Caller.

Trump officially announced his 2024 bid Nov. 15 at Mar-a-Lago. Since his announcement, Trump has attended events with the Republican Jewish Coalition, America First Policy Institute, Log Cabin Republicans and the 14th Annual President’s Conference of Torah Umesorah.

He also attended galas with American Freedom Tour and Helping a Hero, participated in the Georgia runoff tele-rally, conducted numerous interviews and video appearances, and met with members of Congress, Cheung said.

Trump has released videos on freedom of speech, the Omnibus and the Jan. 6 Committee’s final report, promising in his first video that he would ban the federal government from censoring the “lawful speech of American citizens” in one of his first acts.

“There will be more policy related events and President Trump will continue to lead on key issues like [he] has done on free speech and the border crisis in the past few weeks. Additionally, more print, on-camera, and radio interviews with the press have been scheduled so President Trump can lay out his vision for the campaign and highlight Joe Biden’s disastrous policies that have made America less safe and less prosperous,” Cheung said.

Some polls indicate that Trump’s 2024 support has wavered with Republicans, especially after the results of the midterm elections. Some former officials from the Trump administration, like former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and former Vice President Mike Pence, seem to have expressed some degree of doubt over the president and his effect on the party.

“I think we’ll have better choices … than my old running mate,” said Pence. “I think America longs to go back to the policies that were working for the American people, but I think it’s time for new leadership in this country that will bring us together around our highest ideals.”

Trump’s 2024 plans were hardly mentioned on stage at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest, the largest multi-day conservative conference. Speakers like Fox News host Tucker Carlson and Republican Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley refused to say if they would endorse Trump in a matchup against Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Some speakers told the Caller offstage that they would be endorsing Trump over a possible challenge from DeSantis.

“Donald Trump is the guy. He’s the guy. He’s the leader of the clubhouse. Ron DeSantis is great — great governor, my governor — but right now, there’s one person running. It’s Donald Trump. That’s it,” Republican Florida Rep. Byron Donalds said.

“Ron will be president one day. He’s a great guy, a great leader, but in this moment, President Trump has a unique ability to marshal the populist energy that can break through the corrupt establishment,” Republican Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz said.

Trump also holds endorsements from Republicans, Cheung said, including Alabama Sen. Tommy Tuberville, New York Rep. Elise Stefanik, Texas Rep. Troy Nehls, Illinois Rep. Mary Miller, Ohio Rep. Mike Carey, Texas Rep. Ronny Jackson, Arizona Rep. Paul Gosar, Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Louisiana Rep. Clay Higgins, Alabama Rep. Barry Moore, Texas Rep.-elect Wesley Hunt, Ohio Rep.-elect Max Miller, Arizona Rep.-elect Eli Crane, Alabama Rep.-elect Dale Strong, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller, Kari Lake and the New York Young Republicans Club.
