At the first-ever live-streamed Cabinet meeting from Camp David, Vice President JD Vance, leader of the administration’s new anti-fraud task force, announced record-breaking levels of fraud against the American people.
“We have identified $230 billion of fraud that’s being perpetrated against the American people, and we have halted $56 billion,” Vance announced at Friday morning’s Cabinet meeting led by President Donald Trump.
“The level of corruption and fraud that took place under the Biden administration was unprecedented,” Trump said following Vance’s announcement.
While Vance confirmed they identified $230 billion in fraud, he said it’s hard to get it back or track it down once it’s “out the door.” But now that it is identified, Vance said they can stop it from happening again.
“This really has required a whole administration approach to try to tackle fraud,” Vance continued. He thanked Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, Small Business Administration Administrator Kelly Loeffler, and Secretary of Veterans Affairs Douglas Collins for their help uncovering fraud.
“The level of corruption is incredible,” Trump continued. He cited Minnesota, California, and Maine as the states with the highest levels of corruption.
“We’re going to keep on working at it because we believe the American people deserve to have their money spent as you, the Congress, have directed,” Vance said to Trump.
In addition to the $230 billion in fraud already uncovered, Vance also announced that Trump is set to announce 17 new anti-fraud actions later Friday. Vance said these actions will total more than $300 million saved for the American people.
On Thursday, as first reported by the Daily Caller, the Department of Justice uncovered $350 million in alleged Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program fraud across the southeastern United States. Vance thanked Assistant Attorney General Colin McDonald and the National Fraud Enforcement Division at the DOJ.
“My message to the fraudsters is this: Our team is getting bigger, our resolve is getting stronger, and your time is getting shorter,” McDonald said at the announcement.
Just last week, the Treasury Department and Secretary Scott Bessent, working with Vance, implemented new guardrails to prevent fraud. The department created a new screening system to detect federal payments being sent to dead people. Already, the system has stopped almost $100 million that had been marked to be sent to those who are deceased.
Camp David, the presidential retreat center, is one of the most private facilities in the country and is rarely, if ever, seen by the public. This was the first Camp David Cabinet meeting livestreamed to the American public, highlighting the administration’s promise of transparency.
Secret Service agents tasked with protecting the Vice President and his family appear to be airing grievances with the Vance family through media leaks.
MSNow published a story about complaints within Vice President JD Vance’s security detail, citing “Secret Service sources,” people with knowledge of his travel, and the frustration of current and former agents. The story focused on a recently planned trip by the Vice President and his son to Joint Base Andrews for a golf lesson, and on agents’ apparent anger over the “inappropriate or even unprecedented use” of government resources.
“[T]he Secret Service staff’s complaints about a planned chopper ride for an elementary school student reflects a building morale problem inside the team of agents assigned to shield Vance and his young family, according to the two people and another person familiar with the agents’ frustration,” the MSNow article states of the trip that was ultimately canceled due to weather.
The article continues to state that, according to “two people and an additional source with knowledge of their travel who spoke on the condition of anonymity for fear of reprisals,” agents are “fed up” with last-minute travel demands made by the VP and his family.
After MSNow broke the news of the vice president’s planned trip to the golf course, it was canceled, the article notes.
Responding to the MSNow claims, an administration official told the Caller that the trip from the Naval Observatory to Joint Base Andrews is the most common and routine flight Marine Two makes. For that particular trip to the golf course, the plans were made because the base is secure and would not impact the public by closing the golf course or roads for a motorcade. Using the helicopter for such travel likely saves resources for local police departments and thousands of motorists, the official added.
“That is RIDICULOUS,” one person with knowledge of the planned golf trip said to MSNow. “Pence and Harris never pulled anything like that.”
“They change everything,” another source told the outlet regarding the Vice President’s shifting schedule. “They don’t stick to their schedules, and that costs shit-tons of taxpayer money.”
The article notes that the VP has recently planned last-minute trips to Middleburg, Virginia, where he is rumored to be searching for a new house. An administration official told the Caller that Marine Two was used for those trips for operational and security reasons, and, once again, to save law enforcement and the public from the inconvenience of a motorcade. Middleburg, Virginia, is about a 45-minute drive from Washington, D.C.
The article also states that the Vice President “plans for foreign and domestic trips change on short notice” after resources have already been mobilized. Diplomatic travel and matters of state arise unexpectedly and must take priority, the administration official explained to the Caller, adding that agents don’t see the full picture behind schedule changes.
Importantly, following a serious scandal in 2012, the Secret Service began requiring employees to sign strict nondisclosure agreements to crack down on media leaks involving protectees’ private information. When signing the documents, agents are informed that they could be terminated or even prosecuted for violating the agreement, the Seattle Times noted at the time.
The VP and his wife have publicly spoken about the struggle of trying to maintain normalcy as a young family while also being protected by the Secret Service. The administration official told the Caller that past presidents and vice presidents have, for the most part, not had young children, and it has been an adjustment for the Vance family. They added that Vance has been more active than past vice presidents and has taken more of a diplomatic role, which has led to rapid schedule changes and increased demands on the detail.
“A motorcade just shuts down streets, right? It means sometimes people can’t get into Mass when they arrive. It means that you have people trickling in after the start because they’re being put through magnetometers, and so we try, especially, we try with timing of Mass and location and everything to mitigate all of these discomforts for all the other people who are just trying to live their lives,” Second Lady Usha Vance said in an interview with CBS News.

A fugitive accused of helping orchestrate one of the largest Medicare fraud conspiracies in U.S. history has been captured after nearly two years on the run.
Federal authorities said Herbert Leon Kimble, 60, was arrested in the Philippines and returned to the United States to face proceedings connected to a healthcare fraud scheme that allegedly generated more than $1.2 billion in Medicare billings.
FBI Director Kash Patel highlighted the arrest in a post on X, writing, “If you defraud the American people….I told you we WILL find you!” He added, “We are just getting started!” Vice President JD Vance, who leads the White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, also praised the arrest and credited the task force’s partnership with the FBI. “Our message is simple. If you defraud the American people, we will find you and we will bring you to justice,” Vance wrote on X. He added that Kimble allegedly preyed on elderly Americans and cost taxpayers more than $1 billion.
Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said Kimble’s attempt to avoid accountability ultimately failed. “Instead of facing accountability for his $1.2 billion Medicare fraud crimes in the United States, Kimble fled to the Philippines hoping to escape justice,” Blanche wrote on X. “That plan failed.”
Prosecutors allege Kimble played a central role in a healthcare fraud operation that generated more than $1.2 billion in Medicare billings and affected thousands of beneficiaries, many of them elderly Americans. Investigators contend the scheme relied on telemarketing networks and medical equipment suppliers to promote orthopedic braces and other durable medical equipment, often without legitimate medical necessity, according to the Grants Pass Tribune.
Authorities have said telemedicine arrangements were used to obtain prescriptions and support reimbursement claims, allowing the operation to generate large volumes of Medicare billings over several years.

The so-called Iranian memorandum of understanding involving a 60-day period of negotiations that may or may not lead to an armistice was published just recently, and it’s gotten a lot of storm of criticism.
It’s kind of ironic. All last month and up until the memorandum was published, the Left said that Donald Trump was a warmonger. Now they’re calling him Neville Chamberlain and an abject appeaser.
Some on the right were saying he was the bravest of the last eight presidents, the first to take seriously the Iranian threat. In a sense, he didn’t just talk about it. He tried and did end it, I think. And now they are saying he was had. He’s a fool.
So, what’s going on with this memorandum of understanding?
I think everybody is confusing, first of all, military victory versus strategic victory. In a tactical sense, we have had an overwhelmingly historic victory over the Iranian military. There are no air defenses. The airspace is open to anybody who wants it. The Iranians cannot stop the Americans, the Gulf states, or Israel from entering its airspace. That’s new.
Second, they don’t really have a navy. They have some mosquito boats, but now we’ve learned they have very few of those left. We’ve been attriting them in the evening, and there are about 160 ships we sank.
Their missiles have been 90% destroyed, but we don’t know the denominator. We don’t know how many there were. But even then, we are still aware of where they’re stored, and if there is another war, we could pretty quickly dispense with them.
I could go on. Eighty percent of their leadership—80 of their key leaders—have been taken out, including the supreme leader. So that’s a military victory, but that is different from a strategic victory.
Strategic victory means an unconditional surrender, and you dictate terms unconditionally to the defeated. We did that in World War II. We did that in the Civil War. We sort of, kind of, maybe did it in World War I with the Versailles Treaty that followed the Armistice of 1918.
And we did it with Saddam Hussein, and we initially did it with the Taliban.
But here’s the catch: You usually need ground troops to enter the foreign country, and then you remove the regime that you were fighting and install a new one.
We did that with the Confederacy. We did that with Germany, Italy, and Japan. We did that with the Taliban. We did that with Saddam Hussein.
But the key is, you have to have ground troops. To do that required 7,000 American deaths, 53,000 wounded, $2 trillion, and a combined chronological frame of 30 years—10 in Iraq and 20 in Afghanistan.
And then the regimes we installed completely flipped or were replaced. The Taliban came back to power, and now there’s a consensual government in Iraq, but it’s heavily dominated by our enemies, radical Shia.
Do we really want to do that in Iran? It’s 93 million people. It’s one and a half times the size of Texas. If you want to go in there and remove the regime, then of course you can say, “You are not going to have missiles. You are not going to give subsidies to terrorists. You’re not going to send agents throughout Europe and the United States.” But that would require a strategic victory.
Right now, the American people poll overwhelmingly that they do not want any more ground troops in the Middle East. They feel like [Otto von] Bismarck did about the Balkans when he said it’s not worth the bones of one German grenadier, meaning the Middle East isn’t worth that type of expense.
So, we’re not a colonial power, and Iran is not a protectorate that we’re going to micromanage.
That said, our ability to go in at any time and severely damage it means that we can get the objectives that we talked about, specifically the Strait of Hormuz open and no more nuclear weapons. That would be a fantastic achievement.
So far, we’ve tragically lost 13 soldiers. That’s about the accident rate every two weeks in the military. So, it hasn’t cost a lot of blood and treasure yet.
So, what can we do if they violate the memorandum of understanding, if they send missiles into Kuwait or they try to shut down the strait? We can go to the next level of bombing.
You won’t believe it, but Donald Trump hasn’t bombed like [Barack] Obama did in Libya in 2011. He has not bombed like we did in Vietnam. He has not bombed like Bill Clinton did in Serbia.
All of these Democrats, whether they’re [Lyndon] Johnson, or Clinton, or Obama, hit dual-use targets: docks, TV stations in Libya, schools, hospitals.
Not that we’d ever do that, but we accidentally hit them, including the Chinese Embassy. But we did take out the bridges and the electrical grid in Serbia. In Vietnam, we tried to destroy everything that could be used by the military and civilians.
So, we can do that. If they violate the terms of the agreement, we can say, “OK, you violate it. We’re going to respond disproportionately and take out 10 bridges for every missile.” And I think that would have an enormous effect on them.
But why did Donald Trump and the administration even have a memorandum? Because polls said that the people wanted it over with, because the price of gas had gone up to over $5 a gallon from $3.12 on average, or $3, and because the world was pressuring him to avoid a global recession, and the midterms were coming up.
So, Donald Trump wanted a space in which he could get some of the objectives. He could get the enrichment—it’s under a buried mountain—and he’s got the strait opened, and then the others will be discussed.
In the meantime, the stock market has soared. The price of gas is falling precipitously. And in a generic poll, do you support or reject the negotiations with Iran, the majority support it.
Everybody says he can’t win the midterms. If he were to lose them, he will be impeached. His whole family and associates will be subject to lawfare investigations for two years. So, it’s paramount that he bulk up and break from historical precedent that says he’s going to lose.
Redistricting, whether it’s racial gerrymandering or blue-state gerrymandering, will result in a loss, due to red-state gerrymandering, of probably five to 10 seats.
The Democratic agenda is very unpopular when people hear about it, whether it’s the trans issue, or open borders, or Green New Deal, or DEI, etc.
And, of course, the economy, for all the bad news about the war—record Wall Street highs, good employment, enormous foreign investment, tax cuts, deregulation kicking in—we could have the inflation back to where it was well before the war by November.
People have also mischaracterized the deal itself. This is not the end of the negotiations or the war. This is the very beginning of the problems for Iran.
Once the kinetic part of the war stops, they have to face the people, and the people are angry. We have taken out much of their leadership. The next second- or third-tier are mostly incompetent, and the people are going to say not one dime of reconstruction goes to Arab terrorists—the Houthis, Hamas, Hezbollah.
Not one dime goes to these crazy nuclear programs. Not one dime to your missile fleet.
You lost them all. You were humiliated. You lost half a trillion dollars and a half century of investment. No more.
So they’re going to have a problem with internal dissension that is rising. We can always, at any time, encourage that. We can even arm it.
More important, time is on Trump’s side. Not only can he react with dual-use targeting any time during the memorandum if they break it, but he can also explain to our allies and our friends that the strait itself will be irrelevant in some sense in two years, maybe one year.
Right now as we speak, the Saudis, Oman, Qatar, the UAE, Kuwait—all of the Gulf Councils—are saying expand the pipeline to the Arabian Sea outside the Strait of Hormuz, and we can export oil without even getting near it. Expand the pipeline to the Red Sea without even getting near the Gulf.
Expand pipelines or build them, whether with Turkish plans or with the Israelis, to the Mediterranean.
The result of all that is that you may be able to export 10, 12 million barrels without ever going into the strait, which would flip the entire geostrategic reality.
Iran would be vulnerable. We could shut the strait any time we wanted and shut down all of their oil exports and imports. But if they tried to shut down the strait, it would not affect, within two years from now, the vast majority of oil exports to the West, to Asia, to Africa. And the same thing is true of imports.
Finally, geostrategic, I’ve talked about this before, Russia has lost its clients in the Middle East—Syria and Iran. China has lost its clients—Venezuela and Iran.
They both have enormous problems. Both have very low fertility. China has to import 10 to 11 million barrels. They’re big losers in this war.
They are not winners when Elizabeth Warren says everything was going well until the war, and now Iran is much stronger than it was before the war. She should ask 80 or so of their leaders who are now burning in an inferno if they would prefer the present to the past under Obama when they were ascendant.
She should ask the Air Force generals, the head of missile defense, the Iranian admirals: Would you prefer right now having no military, or would you like to go back to the hey days when you were calling the shots under Obama?
The strait, Senator Warren, was closed sometimes, sometimes it was open, because we decided for the first time to disarm them nuclearly. Every other president, all seven of them, said they cannot have a bomb, and then people said, but they might close the strait. OK, we don’t want to get near that.
They closed the Strait because we took away their nuclear option. When you don’t take their nuclear option away and you appease them, the strait is open. It’s that simple.

Vice President JD Vance stood before a crowd of young conservatives at the University of Georgia on Tuesday, but the person who was supposed to be beside him was nowhere to be found.
Erika Kirk, the CEO of Turning Point USA, did not attend the event after receiving what those close to her described as serious threats against her safety.
Turning Point USA spokesperson Andrew Kolvet took the stage in her place, wasting no time in explaining the situation to the crowd gathered for the nonprofit’s tour designed to fire up young conservative voters ahead of the midterm elections. “I’m going to address it right at the front, Mr. Vice President, I’m on stage here instead of our friend Erika Kirk because unfortunately she has received some very serious threats in her direction,” Kolvet told the audience. “It’s a terrible reflection on the state of reality and the state of the country,” he added.
Vance confirmed that Kirk had personally contacted him before the event to discuss the threats, and the situation nearly derailed the rally entirely. “I love Erika, and I know that she did get some threats,” Vance said. “About two hours ago… I was a little worried that we were going to have to cancel the event because Erika was not going to come, and she was very worried about it.” Vance consulted with the Secret Service before ultimately deciding to move forward with the event. No details about the specific nature of the threats have been publicly disclosed. The Daily Mail reached out to the White House seeking comment.
Kirk’s rise to the top of Turning Point USA came under devastating circumstances. Her husband, Charlie Kirk, was assassinated on September 10 at Utah Valley University while engaging with students on campus. Erika stepped into the CEO role in the immediate aftermath of his death.

According to federal government data, the government loses more taxpayer dollars every year to fraud than it spends on the entire budgets of several Cabinet agencies. Thank goodness President Donald Trump has launched the Task Force to Eliminate Fraud and directed Vice President JD Vance to lead the effort.
The Government Accountability Office recently conducted a government-wide study to get an idea of just how much fraud costs taxpayers. That study estimated annual fraud losses to be between $233 billion and $521 billion. On the low end, that would pay for the entire budgets of the departments of State, Commerce, and Labor, and there would still be enough left over to pay for NASA; on the high end, you could add to the budgets of those departments the budgets of the departments of Education, Energy, Justice, and Interior.
That’s an awful lot of money to lose to deliberate theft every year. Keep in mind, we’re talking solely about fraud, not its siblings, waste and abuse.
The Trump administration is determined to address the fraud problem. He chose his highest-profile public address of the year (and the biggest audience of the year, which goes with it) to make the announcement; during his State of the Union address in late February, Trump announced a War on Fraud.
The very next day, Vance announced a pause on $260 million in federal government payments to the government of the state of Minnesota, home to a massive social services fraud that’s been unfolding over the last several years, and which could end up costing taxpayers as much as $9 billion. Vance announced the payments would be frozen until the state government put systems in place to show that the money was going to its intended recipients.
The implementation of the Trump administration’s “war on fraud” began with the announcement of the creation of a White House task force. It was followed by the vice president’s announcement of the pause on the cash flow to Minnesota. Those two steps were only the start.
In addition, the administration created a new senior position at the Department of Justice to focus on the problem. That position, the assistant attorney general for national fraud enforcement, has been filled by Colin McDonald. McDonald is a veteran federal prosecutor who has most recently been serving as associate deputy attorney general, the right-hand man to acting Attorney General Todd Blanche.
McDonald has the right kind of experience. In one particular case, when he was working as an assistant U.S. attorney in Southern California, he prosecuted the Honolulu police chief and his wife, along with two Honolulu police officers, for conspiracy and obstruction of justice for their roles in a public corruption scandal.
Demonstrating the White House’s commitment to the effort, Vance explained that the new assistant attorney general for national fraud enforcement will take direction from the president and the vice president.
Creating new positions and task forces and appointing people to fill out the org chart are important moves, but they’re only first and second steps on the road. The real test of the Trump administration’s commitment to its war on fraud will be what it does with those people and with others it’s already had working on the problem.
Early signals are encouraging.
For instance, the focus on Minnesota right out of the gate is important because the fraud there is centered on the state’s generous social services programs. Medicaid in particular is vulnerable to scammers. Its federal-state match, in which federal dollars heavily outweigh the states’ contributions, provides all the incentive needed for state-level welfare state bureaucrats to look the other way and fail to police their systems properly.
The vice president’s task force might also want to keep an eye on New York City, where Mayor Zohran Mamdani, an admitted democratic socialist, recently appointed Julie Su to serve as deputy mayor for economic justice. Su, who served as President Joe Biden’s acting secretary of labor, famously oversaw between $30 billion and $40 billion in fraudulent payments in her previous position as director of California’s Employment Development Department. Letting the new mayor know folks in Washington are keeping an eye on his administration might be a good preemptive strategy to help reduce or even prevent fraud before it ever occurs.
Theft of taxpayer funds is a cancer on the body politic. It’s long past time that the federal government took action to eliminate it. Thank goodness Trump and Vance are on the job.

The White House is declaring Operation Epic Fury a success and pushing for a negotiated peace, while also making clear that U.S. forces are prepared to escalate if Iran fails to comply.
The White House said on Wednesday the joint military operation with Israel achieved its core objectives “with overwhelming strength and lethal precision,” and press secretary Karoline Leavitt called it “a victory for the United States of America.”
War Secretary Pete Hegseth doubled down at the Pentagon on Wednesday, calling the operation a ”decisive military victory.”
However, there is also a second message coming from the White House and the Pentagon.
President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social that U.S. military assets, weaponry, and personnel will remain “in and around Iran“ until any “REAL AGREEMENT” is fully honored. Reuters reported that Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Dan Caine said U.S. forces are ready to resume combat if diplomacy fails.
The real question now is not whether the administration landed a serious blow, but what will prove that the operation produced long-lasting strategic success.
Vice President JD Vance on Wednesday called the current arrangement a “fragile truce” and said Trump is ”impatient” with the pace of progress.
The administration has said the mission was clear from the start: destroy Iran’s missile capability, cripple its navy, sever its support for proxy forces, and ensure Tehran never acquires a nuclear weapon.
The White House has tied that next phase of the ceasefire to specific outcomes: no path to a nuclear weapon, an open and secure Strait of Hormuz, and full compliance with what Trump called a “real agreement.”
Vance will lead the U.S. delegation to Pakistan for the first round of peace talks with Iranian officials on Saturday, the White House announced Wednesday.
Iran’s lead negotiator, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, warned this week that Israel had violated the ceasefire by continuing attacks against the Iran-aligned militant group Hezbollah in Lebanon, and added that the U.S had violated the agreement by insisting that Iran abandon its nuclear ambitions, Reuters reported.
“In such a situation, a bilateral ceasefire or negotiations were unreasonable,” he said in a statement.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday he is seeking direct talks with Lebanon that would include disarming Hezbollah.

The Justice Department this week wrapped up health care fraud investigations in California, Florida, and Nevada, saying it recovered about $500 million.
Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said the Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, chaired by Vice President JD Vance, and the Justice Department are together “supercharging efforts to take down every fraudster and bring them to justice.”
Here are three adjudicated cases this week that ended in either a settlement, sentencing, or guilty pleas.
1. Florida Obamacare Payments
The DOJ obtained guilty pleas and a civil settlement from AP of South Florida LLC., a one-time subsidiary of AssuredPartners Inc., a national insurance firm.
AP of South Florida pleaded guilty to charges over an enrollment scheme for the Affordable Care Act, better known as Obamacare, in which it obtained $141.5 million in unwarranted subsidies, according to the Justice Department.
The DOJ alleged that the Florida company targeted low-income individuals—including people experiencing homelessness, the unemployed, and those with mental health and substance abuse problems—with cash or gift cards to enroll in Affordable Care Act plans. This caused enrollees to lose Medicaid coverage and face increased costs for treatment.
The department further alleged that AP of South Florida employees submitted false information to Florida’s Medicaid program to generate letters denying Medicaid coverage.
The Florida firm agreed to pay a $27.6 million fine, according to the Justice Department.
AP of South Florida’s former parent company, AssuredPartners Inc., a national partnership of insurance brokers, agreed to pay $107 million in a separate civil penalty to resolve fraud allegations. The national company was not charged in the criminal case, the Justice Department said.
The current owner of AssuredPartners Inc. is Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., which issued a statement noting they did not own the company at the time the federal probe commenced and that they never owned the Florida subsidiary.
“Today, the U.S. DOJ announced a settlement with APSF and AssuredPartners. The settlement is in relation to actions that occurred at an agency that was owned by APSF from February 2021 through September 2022,” the Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. statement said. “This period predates Gallagher’s acquisition of AssuredPartners in August 2025.“
“Importantly, Gallagher became aware of the government’s investigation during its pre-acquisition diligence of AssuredPartners. APSF was not included in Gallagher’s acquisition of AssuredPartners, and Gallagher has never owned APSF,” the statement continued.
”The investigation and potential settlement were considered under the purchase agreement, the settlement amount was fully reserved, and settlement does not impact the purchase price Gallagher paid for AssuredPartners.”
The Daily Signal reached the phone and email contacts listed for AP of South Florida, but no one responded by publication time.
2. California Pharmacy Fraud
In the California case, three people have pleaded guilty in a Medicaid scheme involving the submission of $269.1 million in fraudulent claims.
Paul Randall, 66, of Orange, pleaded guilty this week for his role in the plot after two others—pharmacy owner Kyrollos Mekail, 37, of Moreno Valley, and nurse practitioner Patricia Anderson, 58, of West Hills—pleaded guilty in 2024 and 2025.
The DOJ charged them with crimes spanning from May 2022 to April 2023, under a business called Monte Vista Pharmacy.
A lawyer for Randall was not listed in the Justice Department press release or news accounts of the case. The publicly listed phone number listed for a Paul Randall in Orange, California, was disconnected.
The Justice Department said the three billed Medicaid tens of millions of dollars per month for purportedly providing high-priced medications that actually contained generic ingredients. The department said Randall paid illegal kickbacks to patient marketers and to Anderson to sign prefilled prescriptions.
Under his plea agreement, Randall agreed to forfeit property obtained from the fraud, including bank account balances of more than $17 million, three vehicles, seven properties, and sports memorabilia. The government seized about $126.5 million in assets that the trio accumulated from the scheme.
3. Nevada and COVID-19 Claims
Candies Goode-McCoy, formerly of Las Vegas, was sentenced this week to 54 months in prison and three years of supervised release on fraud charges.
She pleaded guilty in February 2025 to conspiracy to defraud the government by claiming $98 million in COVID-19-related tax credits, according to the Justice Department.
Goode-McCoy was also ordered to pay the Internal Revenue Service $26 million in restitution, according to the Justice Department.
Prosecutors said that from June 2022 to September 2023, she filed more than 1,200 tax returns for her businesses and those of others, claiming tax credits and seeking refunds totaling more than $98 million.
The IRS paid out about $33 million as a result of the scheme.
There was not a publicly-listed phone number for Goode-McCoy.
Vice President J.D. Vance declared Friday that the White House will “go after” Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar for alleged immigration fraud.
President Donald Trump and other conservatives have long accused Omar of marrying her brother, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, to facilitate his move to the U.S. in 2009. Vance said on “The Benny Johnson Show” that the White House “definitely” believes Omar committed fraud, and they are actively looking into options on how to investigate and ultimately “go after” her for it.
“So we actually think that Ilhan Omar definitely committed immigration fraud against the United States of America,” Vance said. “And I talked to [White House deputy chief of staff] Stephen Miller about this actually recently. We’re trying to look at what the remedies are. That’s the thing that we’re trying to figure out is what are the legal remedies now that we know that she’s committed immigration fraud? How do you go after her? How do you investigate her? How do you actually do the thing? How do you build the case necessary to get some justice for the American people? There’s a related issue, Benny, which is she has been at the center of a lot of the worst fraudsters in the Somali community.”
Omar allegedly married her brother, Ahmed Elmi, in a 2009 civil ceremony in Minnesota, after marrying Ahmed Abdisalan Hirsi seven years earlier, according to a timeline published by the Daily Mail. She split from Elmi in 2011, reconciled with Hirsi and had a third child with him. Omar claimed that she and Elmi separated in 2011, though the divorce did not take place until 2017.
Omar married Hirsi, who is not her brother, for a second time in 2018. The two divorced a second time after she allegedly had an affair with Democratic consultant Tim Mynett, according to the New York Post.
Vance is heading a new anti-fraud task force, which convened for the first time on Friday. The committee is tasked with cracking down on fraud being committed on social services in the U.S., particularly in Minnesota.
Dozens of Somalis in Minnesota were charged in the theft of $1 billion in taxpayer money for state and federal social services programs, including $300 million from Feeding Our Future, a child nutrition program that fed low-income children during the COVID-19 pandemic. YouTuber Nick Shirley exposed nearly a dozen Somali-run daycare centers for not actually providing services.
Omar attacked Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for targeting Somali communities throughout Minnesota, even trying to claim in December that Somalis were victims of the welfare fraud scheme.
Vance announced in February that the administration would halt some funding for Medicaid in Minnesota over fraud concerns. He said that the action was to “ensure that the state of Minnesota takes its obligations seriously to be good stewards of the American people’s tax money.”

Vice President JD Vance’s family was away from their Cincinnati, Ohio, home when an individual damaged windows at the residence early Monday.
The Vances were in Washington, D.C. during the time of the potential break in, a Vance spokesperson told The Daily Signal. Local news shared photos of what appears to be damage to the house’s windows that occurred overnight.
“I appreciate everyone’s well wishes about the attack at our home. As far as I can tell, a crazy person tried to break in by hammering the windows,” Vance said Monday on X. “I’m grateful to the secret service and the Cincinnati police for responding quickly.”
Vance asked the media to cease posting photos of his Ohio home.
“One request to the media: we try to protect our kids as much as possible from the realities of this life of public service,” he said. “In that light, I am skeptical of the news value of plastering images of our home with holes in the windows.”
U.S. Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi said one person has been taken into custody. He was arrested shortly after midnight.
Local news WLWT reported that William DeFoor, 26, was the suspect who was arrested in connection with the incident.
“An adult male was taken into custody by the Cincinnati Police Department after being detained by U.S. Secret Service personnel for causing property damage, including breaking windows on the exterior of a personal residence associated with the Vice President,” Guglielmi said in a statement.
“The U.S. Secret Service is coordinating with the Cincinnati Police Department and the U.S. Attorney’s Office as charging decisions are reviewed,” Guglielmi continued.
Turning Point USA COO Tyler Bowyer said Erika Kirk’s early endorsement of Vice President JD Vance for 2028 seeks to unite Republicans and create chaos for Democrats.
“She did run that one by me,” Bowyer told the Daily Caller’s Reagan Reese. “We’ve been captaining this ship for the JD Vance 28 campaign.”
Bowyer said the endorsement shows broad conservative consensus rather than just Turning Point’s position.
“That’s not just us. That’s the virtual feeling of everyone,” he said. “In almost every poll, he’s up 50 points. It’s silly to consider anything else.”
Erika Kirk, who now leads Turning Point USA following her husband Charlie’s assassination, endorsed Vance during her AmericaFest speech Thursday in Phoenix.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio supported that sentiment in a Vanity Fair interview published Dec. 17, saying he would be “one of the first people to support” Vance if the vice president runs.
Recent polling supports Vance’s frontrunner status. A November New Hampshire survey showed him leading the GOP field with 57% support, with Rubio trailing at 9%. An Emerson College poll from June found Vance at 46% among Republican primary voters.
Bowyer pointed to 2024 as a model for early party unity.
“We were super clear, the party, the people were super clear: we want Trump back. And we had that early,” he said. “Then they had to figure out the whole Biden-Kamala thing, and that didn’t work out too well for them.”
He predicted Democrats will face similar turmoil in 2028 if Republicans consolidate behind Vance now.
“We just got to get behind our guy, JD Vance, and then just propel this rocket ship straight forward,” Bowyer said.
President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance are hitting the road to tout the administration’s economic policy, and Vance is seemingly playing the long game in combatting Democrats’ effective “affordability” messaging.
Trump visited Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday, kicking off a year-long tour across the country to ease voters’ concerns about the economy. The affordability crisis has been top of mind for the GOP going into a midterm year following some key wins from Democrats who campaigned on the issue.
Vance, who is set to appear in Allentown, Pennsylvania, next Tuesday, has typically acknowledged voters’ struggles when talking about the economy and requested patience as the administration works to make things more affordable. Trump, contrastingly, has shown frustration with Americans’ feelings on the issue as polls continue to show voters aren’t satisfied with his handling of the economy.
“I inherited a MESS from the Biden Administration — The Worst Inflation in History, and the Highest Prices our Country has ever seen. In other words, Affordability, just 13 months ago, was a DISASTER for the American People, but now, it’s totally different! Tariffs are bringing in Hundreds of Billions of Dollars, and we are respected as a Nation again,” Trump wrote in a Thursday TruthSocial post.
“When will I get credit for having created, with No Inflation, perhaps the Greatest Economy in the History of our Country? When will people understand what is happening? When will Polls reflect the Greatness of America at this point in time, and how bad it was just one year ago?” he added.
While the president has repeatedly posted about and addressed questions on the affordability crisis, the vice president’s first extensive remarks on the economy came at a Nov. 20 fireside chat with Breitbart News. Vance asked voters for patience before repeating some key talking points the president has hammered — namely that Democrats are the ones responsible for Americans’ pain.
“The thing I’d ask for the American people is a little bit of patience. This economy was not harmed in 10 months,” Vance said. “And as much progress as we’ve made, it’s going to take a little bit of time for every American to feel that economic boom, which we really do believe is coming.”
The president and the vice president have largely hit the same message when talking about the economy. Both emphasize the strength of the economy and how their administration has made things more affordable. The duo also has branded Democrats campaigning on making things more affordable as a “hoax,” arguing that it is the party that made things so difficult.
But Vance has conceded that they haven’t achieved total success yet and has declined to dismiss Americans’ dissatisfaction.
“My message to the American people who are still feeling like things are unaffordable, who are still feeling like things are rough out there, is, look, we get it and we hear you and we know there’s a lot of work to do,” he said. “There’s a lot of wood to chop because the Biden administration put us in such a very, very tough spot.”

Vance’s admission that things still need to get better seems tonally different from Trump’s more defensive posture on the issue, as the president has called people who question how much time he is spending abroad “stupid” and suggested such complaints don’t come from his supporters. He has vacillated between asserting to Americans, “You’re doing better than you’ve ever done,” and reassuring that prices will come down further throughout his presidency.
Trump has long taken pride in his economic success, especially during his first term. Vance notoriously comes from a rough, poor childhood in the Midwest.
A White House official told the Daily Caller that there’s no contradiction between Trump and Vance’s message.
“Even [Trump] has stressed that there’s more work to do, but our policies have a proven track record — just see [the] first Trump term — which is why they have made great progress and will continue to do so,” the official told the Caller.
In the first stop of his tour, Trump, after touting the prices his administration had lowered and the current strength of the economy, did admit there is more work to be done.
Prior to his softer tone on the tour, Vance seemed to echo the president’s frustration with Americans’ sentiments on the economy.
“I think I would certainly say voters are impatient. I think voters have every right to be impatient,” the vice president noted. “We are impatient, too, and we’re going to see if what we do and what we think we have to do converges with what the voters think we should be doing.”
Trump most frequently takes an aggressive tone. In his most recent cabinet meeting he blamed the media for drumming up concern about the economy.
“When you talk about affordability … are the American people, do you believe getting impatient with the reforms that you are making?” Fox Business White House correspondent Edward Lawrence asked during a cabinet meeting.
“I think they are getting fake news from guys like you. Affordability is a hoax. It was started by Democrats, who caused the problems of pricing. And they did not end it,” Trump said, going on to recount how he was elected because affordability was a problem.
“So we are bringing prices down. Way down. Beef is coming down now. We have done certain magic. Beef is coming down. We inherited horrible prices. We inherited really the worst, again, the worst inflation in history. We inherited that. When I came in, that was what he had and we fixed inflation. And we fixed almost everything if you want to know the truth, including eight wars. We got one to go, including eight wars,” the president continued.
Kevin Hassett, a top White House economic adviser, has also similarly appealed to Americans’ struggles while emphasizing that “Trumponomics” is going to work.
“We understand that people understand as they look at their pocketbooks and go to the grocery store, that there’s still work to do,” Hassett said.
In an interview with Politico which published on Tuesday, the president gave himself an “A-plus-plus-plus-plus-plus-plus” grade on the economy.
“The word affordability is a Democrat scam,” Trump said during his most recent cabinet meeting.

The head of Proclaiming Justice to the Nations told the ILTV News Podcast that in Genesis 12:3, God says He will bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse Israel. THE UNIVERSITY OF MISSISSIPPI — Seven weeks to the day since Charlie Kirk was assassinated on a college campus in Utah, Erika Kirk and Vice President JD Vance took the stage at another university, honoring the late founder of Turning Point USA in an emotional, packed rally.
The Daily Caller was a part of the traveling press with Vance on the trip to Ole Miss.
Though a stormy day in Oxford, Mississippi, the vice president was cheery as he and the second lady exited the plane and were greeted by Republican Gov. Tate Reeves. Vance’s staff, administration officials and the press buzzed with excitement on the way to the trip, as reports began to circulate that thousands of students were already lining up for the event.

Lines of students snaked around the Sandy and John Black Pavilion arena ahead of the event, which was filled to the brim an hour before Erika Kirk took the stage.
As the vice president’s motorcade zipped through Mississippi and then campus, the Daily Caller watched from within as Americans got out of their car. Some lined up on the side of the road or stopped on the side walk to cheer and wave, eager to catch a glimpse of the vice president.
Upon entering the arena, the Caller was placed just feet from the stage to witness the vice president address the already roaring crowd.
Ten-thousand students donned MAGA hats, waved American flags and posters reading, “I am Charlie Kirk.” In the corner of the stage was a chair with a “freedom” t-shirt draped over it and a microphone, a tribute to Charlie, who was assassinated Sept. 10.
Many of the students were there to see the vice president and Erika, but also memorialize Charlie and learn how they could carry on his legacy.

Prior to Kirk taking the stage, the arena sang “God Bless the USA.” A video of Erika’s late husband then played. His voice, introducing Erika, echoed throughout the arena.
The Caller watched as students rose to their feet as the new CEO of TPUSA walked out onto the stage, wiping her tears and acknowledging the crowd. Erika donned a “freedom shirt,” the same design Charlie was wearing when he was assassinated.
The arena seemed to hold its breath; the audience was somber, yet grateful that Erika had found the strength to carry on her husband’s legacy.
The 10,000 students fell silent as Erika gathered herself behind the lectern.
Then a shout broke through and echoed off the walls.
“We love you!” a student in the upper seating section yelled.
Ole Miss students remained standing for the entirety of Erika’s speech, which lasted 30 minutes.
The packed stadium fixated on her every word, clapping and cheering at appropriate moments, but remaining mostly silent.
From the Caller’s position, there were very few phones in hands capturing the moment. The students’ eyes stayed on Erika, hardly ever leaving as she encouraged them to keep up her husband’s fight.
Kirk told the students that she prayed about appearing at this stop alongside Vance, saying she heard Charlie in her heart urging her to do the campus tour, to “reclaim the territory” from the opposition.
“You guys are the heartbeat of Turning Point USA. You’re the heartbeat of this organization,” Erika told the crowd of students, switching between telling stories of her late husband and encouraging them to get involved and profess their conservative values.
“I want to encourage you, especially the students here: find your voice. You are the courageous generation. That’s what you are,” Erika told the students.
“All of you, Gen Z, you are the courageous generation. Hear me when I say that my husband believed that to his core, that’s why he went on campuses. That’s why he was trying to reach you. You are the courageous generation. Own it,” she continued.

It was then Erika’s turn to introduce the main event.
Calling him a close friend and recounting how he flew to comfort and support her in wake of the TPUSA founder’s murder, Erika encouraged the students to welcome the vice president.
The crowed erupted as Vance walked on stage, some students standing on their tippy toes to try to get a better look. Many pulled out phones to capture the moment.
Vance embraced Erika, looked out at the crowd and took his place at the lectern.
It was a warm welcome that caused Vance to announce that he completely scrapped his prepared remarks to speak from the heart.
Vance explained to the students that his role at the event wasn’t really to lecture the students, but rather to pick up Charlie’s mic and take questions from college students who disagree with him, to debate them and hopefully change their minds, like the Turning Point founder set out to do years ago.
The vice president first memorialized his friend, an emotional and strong address.
But then he pivoted to the real reason the crowd gathered there, for the opportunity to debate the vice president.
The line of students waiting to ask Vance a question never shortened in length, wrapping around the inside of the arena. The vice president continuously remarked that he would take as many as he could, returning to Washington, D.C., an hour and a half later.
Though some students asking questions voiced their support for Vance, others disagreed with the vice president or sought his explanation on various administration moves, or even his own personal beliefs.
“I can tell that most of you apparently agree with a lot of what I said and I’m sure that a lot of you disagree with some of the things I said. That’s O.K,” Vance said.
“We don’t need in our political movement people who agree with us on every single issue,” Vance continued. “What we need is people of good faith, who love the United States of America and are willing to work hard to save it.”
Students asked Vance to clarify his position on abortion, with one girl expressing that she felt the vice president had changed his stance. Another student challenged the administration’s position on Israel. One attendee pressed the vice president on why Trump wants to primary Republican Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie. Another student wanted to know how Vance raised his children in an interreligious marriage.
Vance, though sometimes poking fun at students for their lengthy questions, was joyful and composed as he took some somewhat contentious questions.
Much of the arena seemed impressed with each answer from the vice president. Some students laughed, cheered. Some around the Caller remarked as Vance retorted each student’s question with apparent ease.

Following his remarks, the arena broke out in a “48” chant, a nod at Vance potentially succeeding Trump in the White House.
“Now let’s not get ahead of ourselves,” Vance laughed.
Throughout the night, Erika and Vance emphasized how Charlie’s assassin didn’t end Turning Point USA or its mission Sept. 10. The arena was one example. And the students who lined up in droves to hear how they could continue on the mission of Charlie Kirk were another.
Eventually, the vice president’s staff signaled to the Caller that the event would be wrapping up soon and Vance then did the same to the students.
“I think one of the critical lessons of Charlie Kirk’s life to his dying breath, this was a man who never lost hope in his Creator and never lost hope in the United States of America,” the vice president said to cheers from the crowd. “So let’s remember that and carry that forward.”
