RFK Jr. Reveals Running Mate Pick

Independent Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced on Tuesday that Silicon Valley lawyer Nicole Shanahan will be his 2024 running mate for president.

Kennedy had also been considering New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers and former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura, as well as several others like former Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii, according to The New York Times. The Democrat-turned-independent picked Shanahan to be his vice president because she shared his views on health, censorship, immigration and more, he said during a speech in Oakland, California.

“And I found all of those qualities in a woman who grew up right here in Oakland. The daughter of immigrants who overcame every daunting obstacle, and went on to achieve the highest levels of the American dream,” said Kennedy. “So that is why I’m so proud to introduce to you, the next vice president of the United States — my fellow lawyer, a brilliant scientist, technologist, a fierce, warrior mom, Nicole Shanahan.”

Shanahan, who is 38-years-old, donated to Kennedy’s campaign when he was running as a Democrat in May 2023, and helped fund his aligned super PAC’s Super Bowl ad, according to the NYT. The lawyer is also the ex-wife of Google co-founder Sergey Brin.

“So these are two of my political convictions I hold today — to serve peace and to help those in poverty,” said Shanahan. “So you can understand why I gravitated to the Democratic Party, because that was supposed to be the party of peace, the party of compassion. Many Democrats, we still believe in those ideals. But unfortunately as an institution, it has lost its way. There is only one anti-war candidate today, and you won’t find him in the Democratic Party or the Republican Party. He is an independent, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.”

WATCH:

Kennedy needed to pick a running mate to qualify for certain states’ petitions to gather signatures for ballot access, according to the NYT. The independent might have to restart the signature gathering process in Nevada, as he failed to list a vice president when filing the petition, CBS News reported on Monday.

With the help from American Values 2024, his affiliated super PAC, Kennedy is on the ticket in Utah, and is nearing access in New Hampshire, Arizona, Georgia, Michigan and South Carolina.

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) and President Joe Biden’s campaign have ramped up efforts to combat what it views as the negative effects independents and third-party candidates could have on his reelection chances. The DNC created a team to combat the perceived threat, along with a coalition of lawyers to police how candidates like Kennedy gain ballot access.

The party also filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission in early February over American Values 2024 helping Kennedy gather ballot signatures.

Both national and key battleground state polling suggests former President Donald Trump’s lead over Biden grows when Kennedy and other third-party candidates are on the ballot, according to the RealClearPolitics averages.

ROOKE: Trump Needs An Ultimate Wingman As His VP — The Pick Couldn’t Be More Obvious

Who former President Donald Trump picks as his running mate is one of the most anticipated announcements in the 2024 election season.

It can’t be just anyone because Trump can’t afford to have another vice president serving in the role who doesn’t wholeheartedly embrace the America First movement. It’s his entire platform. The policies are as important to Trump as they are to the base pushing him through his primary race.

Former Ambassador Nikki Haley, the last obstacle to Trump’s nomination, lost to the “none of these” option on the ballot in Nevada, erasing any doubt that no matter how many “Independents” or “Democrats” show up to vote in the GOP primary, the old Republican Party is dead on arrival.

The base wants Trump. They want him to come back into the executive branch and wreak havoc on the entitled ruling class that jailed political prisoners, sent billions overseas while our economy collapsed, closed down pipelines, pushed DEI over safety and left the U.S. border wide open for terrorists to enter.

To them, it’s 2016 again, but on steroids. Trump’s VP pick needs to reflect this. Enter Vivek Ramaswamy.

After his defeat in Iowa, he dropped out of the race and immediately endorsed Trump for president. On the campaign trail, he’s an asset. He knows how to talk to the base in ways they connect with and want to listen. As far as optics go, Ramaswamy is handsome, and his wife is beautiful. Their family picture is wholesome. His young children mean he’s got skin in the game. Whatever happens to America, happens to them. It’s everything that most politicians wish to portray but can’t because they rely on the corrupt Washington D.C. echo chamber for their image.

Still, similar to how America got former Vice President Mike Pence, Trump needs someone who speaks to the middle. This is where Ramasway will thrive. On the campaign trail, when activists would crash his events, Ramaswamy calmed them and invited them into the fold. Trump needs someone to settle the ruffled feathers for him without diminishing him.

While Trump is the general moving the chess pieces and being the face of the war the base wants to rage, Ramaswamy would be the major ensuring the men follow orders. No one galvanizes the base like Trump, and Ramaswamy seems to know his role would be to support, not overshadow.

While these other candidates for the VP position have shown they can use the power of the America First movement to get elected in their respective states, most of them still lack the understanding that to be effective, Trump can’t be undercut. The movement can’t afford another defector.

On the presidential campaign trail, Ramaswamy took a different approach to all the other candidates. He embraces all the parts of Trump that were good for the American people. He talked about the issues surrounding the former president without demonizing him. It was essentially a masterclass in handling a base scorned by the ruling class.

Most of the Republican candidates seemed to be confused about how to approach Republican voters when it came to the political indictments against Trump. But one thing is sure: the last thing a candidate should do to the people who were forced to eat the pain of the 2020 election and all its integrity issues is to pretend it wasn’t happening.

Ramaswamy came out fighting. He promised to stay off the ballot in Colorado as long the state refused to allow Trump to run as a candidate. He not only pledged to pardon Trump if he was convicted of any of the charges against him, but he vowed to wage war against the people and agencies responsible for the political persecution.

His fellow Republican candidates could be correct in their attacks that Ramaswamy’s presidential campaign was essentially him auditioning for the open vice president position.

But the jokes on them.

The biggest shock is that any of them ran at all. For those outside the D.C. consultant class, there was never anything more obvious than the reality that Trump would always be the nominee. Whether it’s Ramaswamy or not, the important thing Trump’s VP needs to know with every part of him is that he isn’t there to run the country for Trump but to be the enforcer.

Where Has Kamala Harris Been For Seven Months?

Vice President Kamala Harris has apparently disappeared from leading any public events on migration — dodging one of the responsibilities bestowed upon her by the president — for over seven months, a Daily Caller analysis found.

The last time Harris led an event on migration was on June 7, 2022, when she announced nearly $2 billion in additional funding to address the “root causes” of migration. She has not led a migration event since and did not accompany President Joe Biden on his first trip to the border, according to a Daily Caller analysis of White House public statements.

In December, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said she didn’t have any updates on what Harris has been doing on migration. Harris’ office did not respond to an inquiry from the Daily Caller posing the question, “has she done anything on migration” since June?

Instead of Harris tackling illegal migration issues, White House public statements show her attention visibly shifted to abortion, diplomacy and diversity events in the second half of 2022.

A large part of Harris’ summer was spent pushing abortion rights after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in May and speaking to state leaders across the country about reproductive rights. Since her last migration related event, Harris had at least 28 meetings with various leaders about reproductive rights, including with Latina state legislators and disability rights leaders.

Harris’ abortion efforts were accompanied by meetings with foreign leaders. In the last seven months, she met with the presidents of Mexico, France, South Korea, South Africa and Moldova; traveled to South Korea, Thailand, the Philippines and Japan; spoke with leaders of the Pacific Islands, Nigeria, and the Caribbean, the president of Guyana, and the prime ministers of Canada, Australia, South Korea, Japan, Poland, Jamaica and Lithuania. She also participated in the U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit.

She also participated in at least 10 events for the Democratic National Committee (DNC), held events as the chair of the National Space Council, and advertised the administration’s legislative agenda — like the Inflation Reduction Act — across the country. Other Harris events include those on climateLGBT rights, and a flurry of Democratic campaigning before the midterms.

Biden appointed Harris to lead the migration efforts of the administration in March of 2021, saying, “it’s not her full responsibility and job, but she’s leading the effort.”

“I’ve asked her, the VP, today — because she’s the most qualified person to do it — to lead our efforts with Mexico and the Northern Triangle and the countries that help — are going to need help in stemming the movement of so many folks, stemming the migration to our southern border,” Biden said at the time.

The Biden administration has experienced record numbers of illegal immigrant encounters, with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) recording 250,000 encounters in December — the highest in history. Several CBP agents have committed suicide amid the record numbers, and the U.S. is undergoing a fentanyl epidemic due to the drug being smuggled across the border.

On Jan. 5, before Biden’s trip to the border, the president said he was “proud” of Harris for securing $3.2 billion in private sector funding for Central America. Harris did not participate in the remarks on the administration’s border strategy, and just jumped in to fill in for Biden’s gaffes.

Open Letter to Donald Trump RE: Scott Brown as Vice President

Dear Mr. Trump,

Many thanks for bringing hope back into the hearts of the American people and a chance to a return to this nation back to fiscal sanity and prosperity.

I must step in quickly though sir to respond to what you said about former Senator Scott Brown. On Saturday the 16th of January 2016 when speaking to a crowd at a Portsmouth, N.H., rally hosted by Scott Brown you said former Senator Scott Brown would make a “very good” vice president.

I must say “Negative on that sir”. We cannot have Scott Brown in the White House. He is the opposite of your free market growth ideology.

scott brown donald trump

Scott Brown (left) and Donald Trump.

Conservatives DO NOT support Scott Brown.

He was the man that cast his last vote on the fiscal cliff deal sending our nation into the first economic calamity adding trillions to our national debt.

He promised the people that got him elected, including the Combat Veterans for Congress PAC during is election campaign, that he would “never raise taxes.” So what did he do?

He voted to raise taxes on millions of working and middle class Americans.

His vote raised payroll taxes to 2 percent. The result is that households then making between $50,000-$200,000 a year had their tax bill rise an average of $1,635. He stuck his hand in our wallets like the liberal that he is and fleeced us all.

His support of massive tax hikes crippled economic growth, it helped to push the U.S. economy into a double-dip recession and deprive working families of much-needed income.

Scott Brown is a money grabbing Obama tax and spend Democrat in establishment Republican clothing. This is all unsustainable—Scott Brown advocates a European-style entitlement state.

The GOPe and Scott Brown should be ashamed of themselves. Yet the establishment Republican sheep still keep voting these types of people into office. We must stop it.

Mr. Trump you think he would make a good Vice President but I am here to help you stay away from this toxic avenger.

Scott Brown betrayed his constituents in the past, he let down the military that helped elect him and he lied to the very people who put him in power in 2010—Tea Party Republicans, independents, small-business owners, and working- and middle-class Americans who pay their bills and pay their taxes.

Scott Brown is anti-Second Amendment and he blamed the gun on the Newtown shooting. He supports all federal assault weapons bans.

He supported the Dodd-Frank, abortion rights agenda including Planned Parenthood.

He supports homosexual marriage. He thinks gays should openly serve in the military.

He supported the START Treaty, which unilaterally dismantled our nuclear weapons arsenal. This gave Russia the edge on us and enabled China to catch up to us.

Scott Brown is a disgrace to all of us that believe in the conservative cause and has no business in the White House unless to visit to wash windows and cut the grass.

He is anti-gun, pro-tax and a social liberal. There is very little difference between him and the Democrats.

Scott Brown is a New England liberal-socialist masquerading as a working-class capitalist RINO of the highest caliber.

Mr. Trump I am stepping in now to get you up to speed on some of the frauds that are in the Republican Party, i.e. GOPe.

Scott Brown is at the top of the GOP Establishment poster boys.
