Open Letter RE: AG Ken Paxton to the Honorable Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick and Senator Angela Paxton of Texas

Honorable Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick,

On behalf of over 4 million Texans who voted for General Paxton, I thank you for your leadership during the AG Ken Paxton sham impeachment trial. We, the residents of Texas who value fairness, due process, and the principles of justice, were shocked to witness the sudden coup by both parties colluding to remove our popular attorney general from office. By doing so, they betrayed their constituents. They betrayed Texas.

The House’s rush to impeach Attorney General Paxton with 20 impeachment articles without evidence was a disheartening example of how political expediency can overshadow the pursuit of justice and due process. It raised serious concerns about the erosion of the principles that our democracy is built upon.

You, honorable Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, served as president of the Senate. You were fair, just, and unwavering in your commitment to upholding the principles of our democracy during this tumultuous time. Your leadership in maintaining due process and ensuring that the impeachment trial followed the appropriate procedures is commendable.

In a time when political agendas often overshadow the pursuit of justice, your dedication to upholding the values that this great state of Texas was built upon shines brightly. The rush to impeach Attorney General Paxton with 20 impeachment articles without any substantial evidence was a concerning display of falsity that threatened the very foundations of our democracy resting upon the will and aspirations of the people. Through individuals like you, Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick, we find hope and reassurance that truth and fairness will always prevail.

As Texans who value integrity, duty to rightful legislation, and a fair judicial process, we are grateful for your unwavering commitment to these principles. Your leadership in the Senate during this challenging period has not gone unnoticed by Texans, and we believe it exemplifies the spirit of honesty and justice that our state and nation deserve.

The political landscape, as exemplified by the last few months’ events, with elected representatives going against the people’s will, no doubt made a daunting task of moral decisions. Nevertheless, we would like to let you know that your efforts in this matter have protected the rights of Attorney General Paxton and upheld the trust that the people of Texas have placed in our government.
