American Family Association calls for a boycott of Target

afa logoThe American Family Association is calling for a boycott of Target after the retail giant said it would allow men to use the women’s restrooms and dressing rooms in their stores.

On its web site this week, Target announced, “[W]e welcome transgender team members and guests to use the restroom or fitting room facility that corresponds with their gender identity. …Everyone deserves to feel like they belong.”

This means a man can simply say he “feels like a woman today” and enter the women’s restroom…even if young girls or women are already in there.

Target’s policy is exactly how sexual predators get access to their victims. And with Target publicly boasting that men can enter women’s bathrooms, where do you think predators are going to go?

Clearly, Target’s dangerous new policy poses a danger to wives and daughters. We think many customers will agree. And we think the average Target customer is willing to pledge to boycott Target stores until it makes protecting women and children a priority.

One solution is a common-sense approach and a reasonable solution to the issue of transgendered customers: a unisex bathroom. Target should keep separate facilities for men and women, but for the trans community and for those who simply like using the bathroom alone, a single occupancy unisex bathroom option should be provided.

Easy for me to boycott Targer. They stock mostly made in china items, overpriced and inferior quality. They used tk have a policy not allowing nursing mothers to do so in their stores but men using women’s bathrooms are ok? no thanks.

I think they’ve totally flipped wanting to cater to a few at the danger to many. No Target for me period. There are too many other stores you can go to.

If a store wishes to ‘accommodate’ transgender people, then they should furnish dressing rooms & restrooms specifically for their use, NOT allow them to use the facilities as per their gender identity. I would definitely NOT be comfortable allowing my daughter to use a dressing room or restroom where males – transgender or otherwise – would be allowed. What’s to stop a non-transgender male from entering such a facility who is a pedophile?

So if a transgender female this she’s a guy, can go into the men’s restroom, and pee with guys? Oh yeah, she doesn’t have a Penis. Just like those trans guys don’t have a vagina.

Are we to believe that there have never been any sexual predators in restrooms, before this? Hasn’t anyone here ever heard that most sexual predators are men, and many children have been molested in men’s restrooms? It’s completely unfounded, unfair, and downright ridiculous to think that being transgender means that someone is a pedophile! Now, there are some bad examples of people who aren’t REALLY transgender, but put on a big show for attention, which is what I suspect of a certain person whose celebrity was waning, who wanted to be back in the public eye. Most people, however, don’t pretend to be transgender. There is too much pain and too many challenges that come with it, for most people to pretend.

What are they going to see in a women’s restroom, anyway? We have stalls, not urinals. We don’t use the bathroom in front of everyone, and we don’t get undressed, or anything similar, in public restrooms. This bigoted response to Target stores’ policy is uncalled for.
