New Iran Strikes and President Trump teases retaliation on Kharg Island

President Donald Trump has ramped up his Iran rhetoric, calling the regime a “Failed Nation” while posting AI-generated imagery suggesting Kharg Island — Iran’s major oil-export hub — might be targeted.

Iran fired at least eight ballistic missiles toward U.S. forces in Jordan after American strikes hit IRGC launch positions on Larak Island; Fox News sources said air defenses intercepted most of the incoming fire.

U.S. strikes on Iranian minelaying forces have pushed the Strait of Hormuz back to the center of the Iran war, though CENTCOM says Tehran’s claim that a supertanker hit two mines is false.

Oil prices climbed as renewed U.S.-Iran attacks rattled markets, while the opening-bell drop underscored fears the conflict could worsen inflation and keep interest rates elevated.

The Iran economy is under growing pressure from sanctions and falling oil exports, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said, as the rialslid to a historic low and Tehran warned it would answer every U.S. attack with a response “dozens of times greater.”
