Remembering American Hero Chris Kyle on the 9th Anniversary of his Death

On February 2, 2013, in Erath County, Texas Navy SEAL and American hero Chris Kyle died. Sadly, he was shot to death by a fellow veteran.

Chris Kyle was know as the American sniper and a film was made about him and his four tours in the Iraq War. Chris Kyle was considered the “most lethal” sniper in American history.

The Trace’s Mike Spies wrote:

Kyle’s death generated an outpouring of grief in Texas, where he was celebrated as a hero in a memorial service at Texas Stadium, the home of the Dallas Cowboys. It also resonated with gun enthusiasts across the country, who embraced Kyle as a celebrity at major events like Las Vegas’s SHOT show, the annual firearms industry convention.

Kyle’s legend as a kind of modern Wyatt Earp was enhanced by his books. In his bestseller American Gun: A History of the U.S. in Ten Firearms, he writes, “One of my proudest possessions is a replica Peacemaker — the famous Colt revolver that defined the Wild West.” He was especially recognized for his 2012 autobiography, American Sniper, which chronicled his exploits as a Navy Seal in Iraq, where he served four tours and logged 160 kills, a U.S. military record.

We will always remember Chris, Taya and the many heroes who deserve our everlasting respect and deep admiration. They served their country well.

May God shed His grace and mercy upon Taya, her family and the families of all of those who have died in service to our great nation.

    Fellow Veterans and Patriots!

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2022, the ninth (9th) anniversary of the murders of Former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle (The Great American Sniper) Chad Littlefield, Chris Kyle’s close friend, who is often lost in the media coverage.

As fate would have it, early on the afternoon of Saturday, February 2, 2013, I was doing some “intel gathering” on names of Our Fallen Heroes who had been killed in the War on Terrorism with the intention of having their names engraved on the 9.11 Victims and Fallen Heroes Memorial we built at Patriots Park in Venice, Florida.

Listening to FOX News (in the background) I learned about the fatal shootings of Former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle and his friend Chad Littlefield. I picked up the phone and called an obscure artist I knew who was working on (his words) a generic Navy SEAL sculpture, I told him to change the sculpture to Chris Kyle and turn on FOX News for more details.

Thanks to our Dear Friends Carl and Carol Wallin for their significant “Contribution” to Transport the Clay Sculpture of anthallen Heroes Memorial at Patriots Park in Venice, Florida.

My wife Carol Jean and I along with Carl and Carol Wallin had the distinct pleasure of meeting Mr. & Mrs. Wayne Kyle, Chris’s Brother Jeff, wife Taya Kyle and Children along with Don and Judy Littlefield, parents of Chad Littlefield and several Navy SEAL’s.

The original Chris Kyle Statue was totally funded and “gifted” in 2013 to The Kyle Family, it remains in their possession today. A second statue of Kyle’s likeness is the centerpiece of the 2,800-square-foot Chris Kyle Memorial Plaza in the West Texas city of Odessa where Chris Kyle was born.

Back in March 2013 we added the name of Christopher “Scott” Chris Kyle to the 9.11 Fallen Heroes Memorial at Patriots Park in Venice, Florida.

As The Late Great Texan Newscaster Paul Harvey would have said, “and now you know the rest of the story”…
