Reporting This Week From Israel

I spent the past week in Israel with filmmaker Ricky Schroder and his producer, Julie Trammel, getting a ground-based “reality-check” on Israel’s war on Hamas.

From the moment I arrived at Ben Gurion airport, the trauma Israelis are experiencing after the barbaric October 7 massacres by Hamas was obvious.

On the hundred or so steps down to Immigration, posters of each of the 240 Israeli hostages Hamas terrorists ripped from their homes or from the music concert that day were exhibited. A few, by that time, had been released – holes in the unending line of the hostages.

By the time I left, five days later, more hostages thankfully had been released and the holes were larger. But so many – so many – remain in the hands of Hamas.

This past week we learned greater detail of how the released hostages have been treated. Children were beaten repeatedly, deprived of food, and terrorized daily by their captors, to the point where after their release they were afraid to speak aloud.

Women were raped so brutally that their pelvic bones were broken. Even the United Nations has belatedly admitted these atrocities.

We also learned that one hostage was held for 50 days by a United Nations teacher in his home. Yes, that’s UNWRA, the UN Agency that employs 30,000 people on behalf of the Palestinians, and that teaches Palestinian children it is their duty to murder Jews when they grow up.

Donald Trump thought he’d cut off funding to UNWRA, but apparently that money has been deposited into an escrow account and could be released by the Biden State Department at any moment.

Contact your Congressman to make sure that doesn’t happen.

UNWRA has become an enabler of Hamas. More on that in posts to come. US taxpayers should not be funding genocide.

Speaking of genocide, I took Ricky and his producer to Yad Vashem, the Israeli Holocaust memorial. I hadn’t visited it in many years, and I must say, almost every exhibit, every Nazi roundup and atrocity, had its collorary with Hamas.

It was striking. Hamas are the Nazis of today. They seek to kill every Jew in Israel – and they say so.

Another important takeaway from this trip was the unbending resolve of Israelis of all political persuasions – as well as the IDF – to finish Hamas once and for all.

Don’t believe in the “ceasefire” talk you hear in Washington.

Yes, the Israeli government wants to get Israeli hostages released. But not at any price. They are determined – and say so every day – to finish this war so that Hamas will NEVER re-emerge as a terrorist organization capable of hitting israel.

We in the U.S. must not get in their way. Israel must FINISH THE JOB.

There has been lots of talk about intelligence failures, and we will learn much more once fighting has ended many months from now. But it’s already clear that senior military intelligence leaders did not want to listen to the analysts who had their ears to the ground.

The Hamas attack resulted from a failure of imagination on the part of Israeli intelligence leaders. They simply could not believe that Hamas could pull it off.

Pray for Israel. Pray for the families who lost their loved ones to the Evil One. And pray for the soldiers who have willingly joined the fight to defeat him.

Americans too often want to believe that evildoers are just deluded. Or they need help. Or they were deprived as children.

That is not the case here.

Hamas has used the mosques of Gaza and the United Nations (UNWRA) schools to deliberately raise generations of child fighters dedicated to genocide.

It’s time to take the handcuffs off the Israel Defense Force (IDF). It’s time for them to defeat Hamas once and for all.

Yours in freedom.
