BREAKING: Secret recording reveals Basij fear of new Iran protests

A recently published secret recording from a closed meeting of a media-cyber organization affiliated with Iran’s Basij and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps reportedly reveals growing concern inside the regime over the possibility of a new wave of anti-government protests.

The meeting took place in Pakdasht and focused on recent developments, the growing role of social media and the difficulties Iranian authorities face in controlling information and suppressing dissent online.

According to the recording, officials are worried not only about renewed demonstrations, but also about infiltration of security bodies and the exposure of the identities of personnel involved in suppressing protesters.

The discussion suggests that Iran’s security establishment increasingly sees social media as a serious vulnerability. Information about regime activities can now spread quickly, while photographs, names and details of security personnel can be circulated among the public.
