‘They Are Animals’: Tom Homan Reminds Democrats That MS-13 Gangs Hurt Immigrant Communities The Most

Border czar Tom Homan reminded Democrats Thursday that MS-13 gang members are disproportionately harming immigrant communities they claim to want to protect.

Democrats have continued to show support for Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an alleged MS-13 gang member who entered the U.S. illegally in 2011, with a few even traveling to El Salvador in retaliation to President Donald Trump’s administration. Homan said on Fox News’ “America Reports” that Democrats are choosing to ignore the heinous, inhumane crimes committed by members of Tren de Agua (TdA) and MS-13 against U.S. citizens and immigration communities.

“I knew that [on] day one of the inauguration that we’re gonna be fighting the courts and we’ll be fighting the Democrats, we’d be fighting the NGOs, the activists, we knew the fight was coming and we’re gonna take that fight on,” Homan said. “But you know one thing I know that they don’t, all the ones yelling about this? I’ve seen, in 40 years, what MS-13 and TdA are capable of. I’ve seen the horrific things they have done not only to American citizens, but aliens that live here. I’ve seen their capability. They are animals. I can’t even compare it to animals, animals kill to survive, MS-13 and TdA kill for pleasure, to instill fear not only in American community, they put fear in the immigrant community. That’s who they attack the most. The migrant community.”

WATCH:

MS-13 and TdA are notorious for committing heinous and violent acts against Americans and other individuals, including beheadings and dismemberments. In November 2017, about ten suspects of MS-13 beheaded a man and ripped his heart out after stabbing him more than 100 times in Wheaton, Maryland, Sky News reported.

The two Venezuelan nationals who killed 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray in Houston, Texas, were said to be members of TdA. The men strangled the child to death and dumped her body in a nearby river.

Four Democrat lawmakers, including Florida Rep. Maxwell Frost, traveled to El Salvador to visit Garcia, though their visitation was denied by El Salvadoran officials. Democratic Maryland Sen. Chris Van Hollen flew to El Salvador and sat down with Garcia in what appeared to be a restaurant.

Democrats have accused the Trump administration of deporting Garcia without due process since the deportation was a clerical error, though administration officials have maintained that he should remain in El Salvador. Democrat Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar cursed at Daily Caller News Foundation reporter Myles Morell Thursday for simply asking if she believes Democrats should continue traveling to El Salvador.

U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis, an Obama-appointed judge, ordered the administration to quickly effectuate Garcia’s return to the U.S., which the administration challenged. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts temporarily blocked the judge’s order in an April 7 ruling, stating that the U.S. cannot “compel El Salvador to follow a federal judge’s bidding.”

The U.S. Supreme Court later ruled in April that the administration must “facilitate” the return of Garcia. El Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele said on April 14 that he will not “smuggle” Garcia back into the U.S.

Police records and court documents indicate that Garcia smuggled people into the U.S., had a good standing with MS-13 and physically abused his wife.

In 2019, an immigration judge issued a deportation order for Garcia, according to court documents. A judge gave Garcia a protected status known as “withholding of removal” in October 2019 after determining that he would likely be persecuted by gangs if deported back to El Salvador.

DHS Spox Touts ‘Major Success’ In Florida After Nabbing Nearly 800 Illegals In 4 Days

Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin described the arrest records of some illegal immigrants arrested by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as part of “a large-scale operation” during a Saturday evening appearance on Fox News.

Federal, state and local law enforcement carried out Operation Tidal Wave in Florida, arresting nearly 800 illegal immigrants during the four-day operation, according to a post on X by Fox News reporter Bill Melugin. McLaughlin said the sweep was a “preview” of additional operations.

“This was a major success, it was a large-scale operation. And to your point, this is a preview of what is to come throughout the nation,” McLaughlin said. “We have partnerships under 287(g) authorities that Secretary [of Homeland Security Kristi] Noem signed, and this empowers state and local law enforcement to actually be able to use their enforcement authority to carry out immigration enforcement.”

WATCH:

Section 287(g) was enacted in 1996 and allows ICE to delegate certain functions to state and local law enforcement agencies, according to ICE’s website.

“What that means is they can actually make arrests and clean up our streets get these criminal aliens off our streets,” McLaughlin said. “So, like you said, almost 800 aliens including MS-13 gang members, convicted murderers, rapists, all of these people are now off of our streets who otherwise have been acting with impunity and terrorizing U.S. communities. You are going to be seeing this throughout the country, and I think that Americans are going to be really thrilled with the results under this administration in the next 100 days.”

Ramon Ciro Castaneda (Department of Homeland Security)

Among the illegal immigrants arrested were Ramon Ciro Castaneda and Carlos Perez-Perez, members of the Venezuelan prison Tren de Aragua (TdA) and each under a “Final Order of Removal,” according to summaries provided to the Daily Caller News Foundation by the Department of Homeland Security.

“This success and massive operation is a window into what is to come throughout the country for the next 100 days of the Trump administration,” McLaughlin told the DCNF when reached for comment. “Our state and local law enforcement are heroes as we execute on the president’s mandate to secure the border, remove illegal aliens and make America safe.”

Carlos Perez-Perez (Department of Homeland Security)

President Donald Trump issued multiple executive orders to address border security and illegal immigration upon taking office Jan. 20, including designating Mexican drug cartels, TdA and the Salvadoran gang MS-13 as foreign terrorist organizations, while invoking the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to speed up the deportation of members of the two gangs on March 15.

McLaughlin also commented on the Friday arrest of Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Hannah Dugan on obstruction charges after she allegedly misdirected ICE agents seeking to arrest an illegal immigrant who had a hearing before her on April 18 before escorting the illegal immigrant out through a back door.

“This is just beyond the pale. I mean, take the Wisconsin judge. The fact she let this individual this illegal alien. American people should know the charges against him more. Strangulation, suffocation, battery, other domestic abuse charges. This is no innocent guy,” McLaughlin said. “As far as the New Mexico case it went beyond just harboring this member of Tren de Aragua.”

“The wife and that judge went so far as to destroy evidence including two photos on this criminal illegal alien’s phone that showed decapitated individuals, he was sending that around,” McLaughlin continued. “They went so far as to take a hammer and destroy this phone so that police couldn’t access this. We are going continue to go after these activist judges, especially in such egregious cases like this.”

‘Looked Like a Fool’: GOP Roasts Van Hollen Over Meeting with Illegal Alien

GOP lawmakers expressed outrage on social media after Maryland Democrat Sen. Chris Van Hollen met with a deported illegal alien in El Salvador on Thursday.

“Sen. Chris Van Hollen of Maryland looked like a fool yesterday standing in El Salvador begging for attention from the fake news media, or anyone,” President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Van Hollen traveled to El Salvador to demand the release from prison of Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, who the senator claims was “illegally abducted” from Maryland. Abrego Garcia entered the U.S. illegally in 2012, has ties to MS-13, and the Department of Homeland Security claims he has been involved in human trafficking activity.

“Find someone who looks at you the way Democrat senators look at illegal alien MS-13 gang members,” Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, wrote sarcastically on X with a photo of the two men talking.

Rep. Mike Collins, R-Ga., called Van Hollen’s actions “traitorous,” and Rep. Andy Harris, R-Md., bashed his fellow Maryland lawmaker for showing more support to an illegal alien than the family of slain Maryland mother Rachel Morin, who was raped and murdered by an illegal alien in 2023.

“Imagine if Sen. Van Hollen cared as much about the families of Rachel Morin and Kayla Hamilton,” Harris wrote on X. An illegal alien MS-13 gang member killed Hamilton, a 20-year-old Maryland woman, in 2023.

“Leftist politicians only want to talk about bringing illegal immigrants back to Maryland,” Harris added.

After more Democrats expressed an interest in visiting Abrego Garcia in El Salvador, Rep. Mark Green, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, issued a statement saying his colleagues on the Left “can use their own personal credit cards—not taxpayers’ money—to virtue-signal to their radical base.”

GOP politicians were not the only ones criticizing Van Hollen after his meeting with Abrego Garcia. The Libs of TikTok X account, which has over 4 million followers, shared a blank photo on social media with the caption, “Here’s an image of Democrat Sen. Chris Van Hollen meeting with Rachel Morin’s family who was murdered by an illegal in his state.”

Ahead of Van Vollen’s meeting with Abrego Garcia, The Daily Wire political commentator Michael Knowles made a meme of Van Hollen looking into the eyes of a man intended to represent an illegal alien gang member.

After the meeting in El Salvador, Knowles shared the image of Van Hollen and Abrego Garcia seated at a table together talking with the tongue-in-cheek caption, “He … he did. He actually did it. [Van Hollen] did my meme.”

Despite Van Hollen’s calls for Abrego Garcia to be returned to America, and U.S. courts ordering the Trump administration to “facilitate” his return, Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele says the deported illegal alien has the “honor of staying in El Salvador’s custody.”

Sen. Chris Van Hollen’s Trip To El Salvador Likely Paid For By Taxpayers, Senate Aides Say

Democratic Maryland Sen. Chris Van Hollen’s trip to El Salvador to try to secure the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a deported illegal alien, was likely funded by taxpayers, six individuals familiar with congressional travel tell the Daily Caller.

Three Senate aides and one former aide told the Caller that they believe the trip was likely a Congressional Member Delegation (CODEL), which refers to an official visit abroad by members of Congress and their staff. Such trips are paid for with federal government resources.

“Gotta be,” said one high-level Senate aide when asked if they believe taxpayers foot the bill for Van Hollen’s travel.

A former senior congressional aide said, “Zero doubt the Senator either paid out of the office MRA [Member’s Representational Allowance] or paid personally and will get reimbursed as an ‘official travel’ expense.”

Van Hollen flew to El Salvador on Wednesday morning in a bid to get the country’s government to release Abrego Garcia. Abrego Garcia was deported and sent to the CECOT prison despite an immigration judge issuing a withholding of removal in 2019 after the Salvadoran national said he feared he would be targeted by Barrio 18, a Salvadorian gang that is a rival to MS-13, if he were returned to his home country.

Court documents and a Gang Field Interview Sheet released by the Department of Justice indicate that when Abrego Garcia was first picked up by police in 2019 he was with two other ranking members of MS-13, wore clothing that signified he was a gang member, and was identified as a member of MS-13 by a trusted confidential informant. Two immigration judges in 2019 agreed with the government’s assessment that Abrego Garcia posed a danger to the public and was a “verified member” of the gang.

“If I had to bet, this trip was funded with taxpayer dollars. Regardless, it’s insane that Democrats are more concerned about illegal immigrant gang members being sent home than their constituents’ safety,” one Senate aide said.

Van Hollen was unsuccessful in meeting or having a phone call with Abrego Garcia while he was in El Salvador. The senator said he was able to meet with the vice president of El Salvador, who allegedly told him “he was not able to make that happen.”

Salvadoran president Nayib Bukele asserted in an Oval Office meeting with President Donald Trump earlier this week that he has no intention of returning Abrego Garcia to the U.S., calling the idea “preposterous.”

“I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Van Hollen’s little PR stunt to support an illegal alien was actually paid for by hardworking Americans,” another Senate aide said. “Democrats like Van Hollen are more outraged by a justified deportation than they are by horrific crimes committed by criminal illegals in the U.S. This little trip is a perfect example of why Americans overwhelmingly voted for President Trump and his commonsense immigration policies. Van Hollen’s potentially taxpayer-funded trip might play well with radical liberals on the East and West Coast, but regular Americans just want to know whether they have to foot the bill.”

Senator Ted Cruz addressed the issue of funding for Van Hollen’s trip during Wednesday’s edition of his “Verdict” podcast.

“That’s one of the prerogatives of being in the Senate, is that you can travel internationally on official travel, and each senator can make a determination of where he or she wants to go,” Cruz said of taxpayer-funded trips. “And it should be related to your responsibilities, related to your work, but particularly for someone like Van Hollen or Murphy. They both serve with me on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and so that, in and of itself, gives you a significant justification to travel abroad work-related.”

Cruz continued, “So, look, can the Democrats travel to El Salvador if they want, and is that part, reasonably, of their work? Yes, but what they’re doing is traveling there in order to highlight, ‘We want to bring this illegal immigrant whom two courts have found as an MS-13 member, back to America.’ That’s astonishingly bad policy, and I think astonishingly bad politics.”

Van Hollen’s office did not respond to a request for comment in time for publication.

A committee chair’s approval is typically needed for a member to go on an official congressional delegation, individuals familiar tell the Caller.

A spokesperson for the Senate Foreign Relations Committee told the Caller that committee chair Sen. Jim Risch did not approve Van Hollen’s trip, but noted that some other committees and Senate leadership — including Democratic Minority Leader Chuck Schumer — have the power to approve foreign travel, so Van Hollen “must have found another way.”

Reps. Maxwell Frost and Robert Garcia said in a letter requesting their own CODEL for a trip to El Salvador that the Senate “has already authorized CODEL travel to CECOT.”

Van Hollen said he will not stop fighting for his “constituent” and referred to Abrego Garcia as an “American citizen” on Tuesday. His staff later said he “misspoke” and meant to refer to Abrego Garcia’s wife, who was born in the United States.

Van Hollen’s office did not respond to multiple inquiries from the Caller about the funding of his trip.

Abrego Garcia’s wife previously filed two domestic violence protection orders against him, according to court documents obtained by independent journalist Andy Ngo.

While Van Hollen was in El Salvador, the White House held a special press briefing with Patty Morin, the mother of Rachel Morin, a Maryland mother murdered by an illegal alien. Morin noted that while Van Hollen issued a press release following her daughter’s death, he never called her to express sympathy nor did he meet with Rachel’s family.

Morin said she was outraged that “a senator from Maryland who didn’t even acknowledge — or barely acknowledged — my daughter and the brutal death that she endured, leaving her five children without a mother” opted to “use my tax money to fly to El Salvador to bring back a person … who isn’t even an American citizen.”

EXCLUSIVE: The First Photos Of The FBI’s Arrest Of Major MS-13 Leader

The Daily Caller exclusively obtained the first photos of the FBI’s raid Thursday that resulted in the arrest of a major MS-13 leader.

Law enforcement arrested top MS-13 leader, Henry Josue Villatoro-Santos, in an early morning raid in Northern Virginia.

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, Virginia GOP Governor Glenn Youngkin and FBI Director Kash Patel announced the arrest at a press conference March 27. Villatoro-Santos, who was allegedly one of the top three leaders of the gang in the U.S., was caught just miles outside of Washington, D.C.

The FBI shared with the Caller the first photos of the raid, offering a behind the scenes look at the operation.

MS-13 is an international criminal syndicate that has been tied to countless murders, rapes and other heinous crimes across the country. The gang originated in Los Angeles, but is now largely associated with Salvadoran nationals.

“He was the leader for the East Coast, one of the top three in the entire country, right here in Virginia, living half an hour outside of Washington, D.C.,” Bondi said at a joint press conference. “He is an illegal alien from El Salvador and he will not be living in our country much longer.”

“America is safer today because one of the top domestic terrorists in MS-13 is off the streets,” Bondi continued.

In two photos obtained by the Caller, FBI Director Kash Patel is seen thanking agents for their work the day of the raid.

To capture Villatoro-Santos, an FBI SWAT team breached the front and rear door of his mother’s home, the New York Post reported. After agents spotted Villatoro-Santos trying to hide and refusing to surrender, agents lobbed a stun grenade and pulled him out of the house, according to the outlet.

Bondi said on Fox News’s “The Ingraham Angle” that Villatoro-Santos had been recruited to join the gang in middle school. According to officials, he had a stash of weapons, ammunition, and silencers in his garage when they found him.

Villatoro-Santos’ mother denied to WUSA9 News, a local outlet, that her son was a part of the gang.

Daily Caller Senior Editor Amber Duke asked Patel during Thursday’s press conference how long the gang member had been living in the United States.

“The bottom line is — for FAR too long … If you’re here for a minute, a day, a month, or a year you’ve been here far too long,” Patel answered.

Florida Officials Nab MS-13 Member on Terror Watch List

Florida officials have come in contact with roughly 10,000 migrants, including an MS-13 gang member on the U.S. terror watch list, as part of Operation Lone Star, Gov. Ron DeSantis announced last week.

Florida stands as one of four states that recently deployed resources to support Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s Operation Lone Star, focused on addressing the illegal immigration crisis. DeSantis provided an update, revealing that Florida officials have come into contact with roughly 10,000 illegal migrants:

Florida teams have…assisted the Texas Department of Public Safety with over 600 arrests including felony charges for human smuggling, drug paraphernalia, unlawful carrying of weapons, a suspect with a capital murder warrant, and an MS-13 gang member currently on the U.S. Terror Watch List.

“Florida teams continue to intercede [sic] human smugglers and drug traffickers with over 230 pounds of drugs worth an estimated $184,000 seized over the weekend,” the press release added.

Deployed Florida resources include over 300 service members with the Florida National Guard (FLNG), as well as Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) agents, Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) troopers, and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) officers.

FHP alone has been involved in over 160 human trafficking arrests, and troopers have assisted with 2,541 traffic stops. They also assisted in “repelling over 100 undocumented migrants attempting to forcibly push towards the U.S. border at Brownsville International Bridge. All responding agencies utilized barriers to hold the line and prevent the migrants from illegally crossing,” according to the press release.

Killers came in as ‘unaccompanied alien children’

Killers, gangbangers and other assorted criminals came across the US Southern border in recent years and are beginning to ‘show’ themselves such as in this dreadful case reported by Leo Hohmann writing at World Net Daily:

Two Central American teens charged in the recent execution-style killing of a Massachusetts man came to the U.S. as unaccompanied alien children or UACs under President Obama’s “open-border free-for-all,” according to a Judicial Watch report.

unaccompanied alien children

This is a 2014 photo of some of the apprehended “children.” Obama and the religious refugee contractors want them to be legitimate asylum seekers. Lawyers ready and willing to make them Americans!

The two 17-year-old boys also have ties to the notorious MS-13 gang, according to the Boston Herald.

Upward of 130,000 women and children from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras have poured across the U.S.-Mexico border since the summer of 2014 and the administration has distributed them into communities nationwide with the help of the Catholic, Lutheran, Baptist and various evangelical churches.

WND reported Wednesday that a new study by a Catholic organization found that nearly 80 percent of those coming from Honduras were not fleeing violence but merely seeking economic opportunities.

Lawmakers want answers from the Office of Refugee Resettlement (the lead agency responsible for the whereabouts and the care of the “children” most of whom are teenage boys!)

This week two federal lawmakers – a senator and a congressman – sent a letter to the administration demanding answers on exactly how and when the teens entered the U.S. The lawmakers, Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, and Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., chair of the House Judiciary Committee, also want to know if the administration had knowledge about the suspects’ gang connections.

“Please provide a complete copy of the alien file for Jose Vasquez Ardon and Cristian Nunez-Flores,” the lawmakers state in a letter to the Department of Homeland Security and Health and Human Services, the agency that’s mostly handled the barrage of UACs and the relocation process.

There is much more, continue reading here.

We have an extensive archive on so-called ‘unaccompanied alien children’ here.  Thousands of these teenage boys have been secretively distributed throughout the US.  Many more are on the way in 2016!

Be sure to see this post about the squabbling resettlement agencies trying to get their cut of the federal boodle for the “children.”

FBI Data Backs Up Trump Claims On Illegals and Crime

Arron Klein from World Net Daily reports:

Largely unreported data published by the FBI appears to back up Donald Trump’s contentions regarding illegal aliens from Mexico committing drug and violent crime offenses in the U.S. According to the FBI, criminal gangs – in some regions comprised significantly of illegal aliens – are wreaking havoc in the U.S., with 65 jurisdictions nationwide reporting gang-related offenses committed with firearms account for at least 95 percent of crime in those areas. The FBI further documented gangs in Southwestern border regions consisting of up to 80 percent illegal aliens were committing a multitude of crimes in America, “including drug-related crimes, weapons trafficking, alien smuggling, human trafficking, prostitution, extortion, robbery, auto theft, assault, homicide, racketeering, and money laundering.”

The information was contained in the FBI’s 79-page National Gang Report published in 2013, the most recently released extensive agency report providing an overview of gang activities and trends in the United States.

The data is newly relevant following a national debate about illegal alien criminals emanating from Mexico sparked by Trump’s controversial comments. “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best,” Trump said when he announced his run for president. “They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.” Trump has since clarified numerous times his comments were in reference to illegal aliens crossing into the U.S. from Mexico. “I accept the 80 percent number, but I’ve heard testimony that goes higher than that,” Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, told WND. “It might be that gangs are now starting to recruit children that are born to illegals.

Ann Coulter takes apart the arguments from advocates for amnesty and illegal aliens, in “Adios, America,” and in the course of her work reveals that Democrats always have thought of immigration reform as a way to stuff the ballot box.

“That might account for some of the remaining 20 percent,” he said, noting it could get worse. “You turn over another generation of this and you won’t be able to characterize them as illegals anymore. They will be anchor babies.” Michele Bachmann, a former member of Congress, added, “With every news cycle, Donald Trump is being proven right about problems associated with illegal aliens. The Dem/GOP ruling class in D.C. is petrified their false claim that massive Third-World immigration is good for America is unraveling. “The ruling class should be worried, and their handmaidens in the media, because the American people are sick of watching our glorious nation be destroyed and they are longing for a true champion to fight for American greatness and sovereignty.”

The FBI’s latest National Gang Report extensively documents criminal gangs, some comprised in large part of illegal aliens, are indeed importing drugs and committing a high percentage of violent crimes throughout the U.S. One section of the 79-page report details “Gangs and the U.S. Border.” It documents gangs, “especially national-level Hispanic gangs, such as MS-13, the Eme, Sureños, and TB, continue to pose a significant threat to the Southwest border region.” The report reveals that “in many cases, gang members who commit criminal activity in the region are not U.S. citizens nor lawful permanent residents.”

The FBI documented that surveys conducted by U.S. Customs and Border Protection indicate in some southwest border sectors “the percentage of non-U.S. citizen gang members was as high as 80 percent.” The report states that once deported, gang members have been documented as repeatedly attempting to re-enter U.S. illegally “in order to re-join the gang and engage in criminal activity.” The FBI statistics show gangs “exploit opportunities along the nearly 2,000 miles of contiguous U.S.-Mexico territory” to engage in a multitude of crimes, “including drug-related crimes, weapons trafficking, alien smuggling, human trafficking, prostitution, extortion, robbery, auto theft, assault, homicide, racketeering, and money laundering.” “Of these offenses, drug-related crimes – such as production, smuggling, trafficking, and distribution – are the most widely reported criminal acts committed by gangs of all types,” according to the 2013 report.
