Member of Iranian parliament laments that talks with Trump are snatching defeat for Iran from the jaws of victory

Akhound Nabavian, member of the Parliament’s National Security Commission who has seen the final text:

By signing this agreement, we officially become a colony of the USA!

Every time Trump added a new clause, the gentlemen retreated and said yes.

The Strait of Hormuz will be immediately opened without restrictions or fees; even for Israel.

Nuclear materials must be diluted.

If we want to do the smallest enrichment, we must first get permission from the USA! Even for making medicine, electricity, etc.

Release of blocked funds? Uncertain.

Iran’s benefit from the $300 billion fund? Uncertain.

Sanctions relief? Uncertain.

This is noteworthy, as it looks much more as if Trump is the one who is snatching defeat from the jaws of victory with these negotiations. Will Trump not end up handing the Islamic Republic a new lease on life, regional hegemony, a new source of income, and a chance to embolden jihadis worldwide by claiming a decisive victory over the Great Satan?

We can hope.
