ANOTHER SOLD-OUT EVENT: Trump Rallies in Clemson, South Carolina
Unstoppable.
President Donald Trump took the stage in Pendleton to a roaring welcome from the crowd and Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA,” greeting the crowd with “a very big hello to South Carolina” as protesters inside the rally briefly offered a counterpoint and were quickly escorted from the venue. Trump predicted that South Carolinians will elect Darline Graham and Republicans to the House and Senate. Trump also said how much he “loved her brother. A seriously good politician.” A couple of protesters were escorted from the venue during the first few minutes of his remarks (Greenville).
He is a once-in-a-century figure, and we will never see his like again.
At Pitt-Greenville Airport in Greenville, North Carolina, on Tuesday night, Trump rallied supporters amid surging early voting for the midterms, urging immediate mail ballots for Republicans. Petty, the 89-year-old ‘King’ of NASCAR, endorsed Trump with a racing analogy, calling for the best ‘pit crew’ to back him. Trump attacked Democratic Senate candidate Roy Cooper over prisoner releases, highlighted $1 billion in Camp Lejeune settlements plus funding for semiconductors and military families, and pledged $5,000 payments to adults if Republicans win both chambers of Congress.
The previous night, Trump was joined by a legend on the track, Richard Petty. Last night, he was joined by a legend in the ring, Evander Holyfield: I’d like to thank Donald Trump…. I’m so happy for him to be our president (Daugherty).
Darline Graham Nordone—the sitting Senator and sister to the late Lindsey Graham is facing Democrat Annie Andrews, a pediatrician. Graham Nordone is up three points (RCP).
WITN: On the campaign trail for Michael Whatley, Trump called his Democratic opponent Roy Cooper a “disgrace to this state.” “Cooper released over 3,500 convicted, highline criminals, including 86 convicted murderers,” the president said. It’s the same thing being claimed in a pro-Whatley ad the WITN First Alert Investigates team fact checked earlier this year. The ad refers to a move in 2021 where then-governor Cooper agreed to a civil rights lawsuit settlement that led to 3,500 inmates being released during the COVID-19 pandemic (WITN).
