Trump Renews Netanyahu Endorsement Days Before Election

President Trump understands that the U.S could not ask for a better partner in confronting the Islamic Republic of Iran than Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. PM Netanyahu has shown incredible courage, brilliance, and tenacity in leading Israel in it’s war against Iran, the UN, the Democrat Party, the EU, et al.  No one should be fooled by Gadi Eisenkot’s military service. High ranking IDF officials have a disastrous record of appeasement after being elected prime minister. Gadi Eisenkot is of that mold.

The polling shows a tight election.

But: If the vote goes according to the latest polls, look for a fairly-even split between the two largest blocks in the Knesset—the Yashar party, formed recently by Gadi Eisenkot and Bejamin Netanyahu’s Likud party. Yashar looks to have about 22 seats. Likud looks to about 19 seats. Both are well short of a majority So: The question is, who can form a governing coalition? And—if they can—how stable will that coalition be?

The Jerusalem Post looks at the last polls, then sums things up: Across the four polls, the opposition parties average 54 seats, compared with 49.5 for Netanyahu’s bloc. The Arab parties average 14.5 seats combined. The average gap between the two major blocs is 4.5 seats, and neither has reached the 61-seat majority needed to form a government (Jerusalem Post).

Just as an aside, note what is necessary for Israelis to vote, one of:

  1. Israeli identity card, either standard or biometric. You do not need to bring the accompanying address appendix.
  2. Valid Israeli passport.
  3. Valid Israeli driver’s license bearing a photograph.
  4. Knesset member identification card, if you are a Knesset member (Israel Hayom).
