Breaking: Global sea level rise ending in 2014

In a news conference held near Miami, Florida last night, the Space and Science Research Corporation (SSRC) announced that the global threat of sea level rise caused by decades of global warming is ending.

Speaking to cheering supporters from several groups from the general Miami area, SSRC President Mr. John Casey issued a formal declaration of the end of global sea level rise during a presentation in which he discussed the vital role the Sun plays in climate change and how the past growth in sea levels was caused by the Sun and not mankind. The event was sponsored by the American Citizens League.

The declaration read:

“As a result of the Sun entering a ‘hibernation’ phase, the Space and Science Research Corporation hereby declares that the past two hundred years of global sea level rise is expected to end no earlier than mid-2014 and no later than 2020. After that time, global sea levels are expected to begin a long term period of decline, lasting at least through the decade of the 2030’s. The estimated global sea level decline during that period will range from 20 to 25 cm from current levels.” Casey elaborated with, “The many climate models that have taken two decades and billions of dollars to fabricate have been utter scientific failures. Once you take the greenhouse gas theory out of the laboratory and try in in the real world it just does not stand up. Not only has there been no effective growth in the planet’s temperature for sixteen years, but current temperature trends show the Earth’s oceans have been cooling for ten years and the atmosphere for seven years! These real world indicators of the true status of the Earth’s climate are of course, an impossibility if the greenhouse gas theory really worked and mankind’s CO2 emissions had the effect as has been alleged. On the other hand, using solar variations for climate prediction, we see global warming ended and the next climate began right on schedule.”

Mr. Casey, is a former White House space program advisor, space shuttle engineer, and NASA Headquarters consultant, and is the Editor of the Global Climate Status Report (GCSR)©. Mr. Casey is also the author of the internationally acclaimed climate book, “Cold Sun,” which describes the cause and effects of this potentially dangerous new cold climate. He has amassed a list of correct, major climate predictions that according to public records of predictions, is unmatched by the UN-IPCC, NASA, NOAA and all US university Ph.Ds funded for climate research by the government.

Using charts of data, sea level and global temperature trends, Mr. Casey explained that the primary reason for the coming historic drop in sea levels will be caused by the recently started “solar hibernation,” a once every 206 year reduction in the energy output of the Sun. A list of other scientists , echoing Casey’s prediction of a new cold climate, was posted for attendees to read and is also available at the SSRC web site. He emphasized the seriousness of the SSRC prediction of a coming cold era by pointing out to the attendees a recent article on display which had comments from scientists at the Russian Academy of Sciences who said that a new “Little Ice Age” would be starting in 2014.

Clarifying how this change in the Sun will affect us, Mr. Casey stated, “As has happened before, when a solar hibernation hits, the Earth gets cold. The Sun cuts back on the energy by which it warms the Earth and we enter a period of at least twenty to thirty years of record, potentially dangerous cold. This next cold era has already begun to show a trend of longer colder winters and weather extremes which mark the transition from the previous climate of global warming to the next climate period of strong global cooling. Our climate varies by highly predictable natural cycles. Mankind and his industrial greenhouse gas emissions have little to nothing to do with major climate changes.”

Joining Mr. Casey via Skype were other experts from around the globe. They included Dr. Nils-Axel Morner, from Sweden, one of the world’s leading experts on sea levels, as well as Dr. Dong Choi, Director of Research at the International Earthquake and Volcano Prediction Center (IEVPC) in Canberra, Australia. Though unable to attend because of work in the field, Dr. Ole Humlum from the University of Oslo, Norway submitted a statement on the future of sea levels.

Dr. Ole Humlum, is also an Associate Scientist at the SSRC, a prominent geomorphologist and glaciologist and Co-Editor of the SSRC’s quarterly climate report. His comment read, “As Co-Editor of the Global Climate Status Report with John Casey, I can say that our regular review of global climate trend data is unmistakable. The past period of global warming has ended, just as John predicted it would in 2007. Now, a new cold climate has begun. Over the next few decades, sea levels will drop, possibly to where they were two hundred years ago. My own research indicates the oceans surrounding Greenland, Svaalbard, and the Arctic are all heading into their own decades-long cold period.”

Dr. Morner’s presentation focused on the lack of reliability in sea level measurements and his prediction of declining levels during the next cold climate. In it he stated, “Mr. Casey is correct in his assessment of the impact of the coming cold climate on the world’s oceans. My research shows from a study of sea levels over the last 600+ years that they will reach a new low between 2030 and 2050 judging from solar variability.”

Dr. Choi’s presentation comments included, “There is a strong correlation between these solar hibernations and the largest earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. We should be on our guard over the next few decades for increased, perhaps record levels of geophysical activity. In 2011, I was pleased to have endorsed his book, Cold Sun, which discusses this important relationship. I said then that he was right about the coming climate change and that we will have challenging decades ahead. My research and work done at the IEVPC confirms this.”

Mr. Casey tied these subjects together by adding, “It is important to note that solar hibernations affect all life on the planet as well as the geophysical nature of the Earth’s oceans, atmosphere, and land masses. The predicted drop in sea levels is just one of the important effects of the new cold climate.

There are other related effects like reduced solar wind, earthquakes and fluctuations in the Earth’s magnetic field. We are all intimately linked to what the Sun is doing. Further, it is time to accept the overwhelming proof that now exists showing the greenhouse gas theory and associated climate models simply don’t work and are fundamentally unreliable in their global temperature and sea level forecasts. They should all be discarded. Solar-climate models have already proven themselves and should become the new, better, highly reliable standard for climate prediction. The Sun rules climate change on Earth, not mankind.”

He summarized by saying, “The choice is straightforward, do we want our lives and our government to be determined by old climate theories that have been shown they don’t work or do we want to rely on climate theories that are highly accurate and account for all past climate variations including the one that is happening now?”

Mr. Casey concluded his presentation with one somber recommendation by stressing that, “We should prepare for a difficult new cold era that has already begun.”

Dr. Choi is a specialist in global tectonics, Sun-Earth interaction, earthquakes and paleolands in the present-day oceans. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the New Concepts in Global Tectonics (NCGT) Newsletter. The NCGT publishes papers of its many members and is widely followed for its leading edge research. Dr. Choi received his PhD in Geology from Hokkaido University, Japan in 1972. Journal of Medical Ethics supports “after birth abortions” and “euthanasia”

Since the revelations stemming from the Dr. Kermit Gosnell trial many are asking: How this could have happened?  Perhaps a review of a paper published in the Journal of Medical Ethics in 2012 by Alberto Giubilini and Francesca Minerva titled, “After-birth abortion: why should the baby live?” will answer this question.

The abstract reads:

Abortion is largely accepted even for reasons that do not have anything to do with the fetus’ health. By showing that (1) both fetuses and newborns do not have the same moral status as actual persons, (2) the fact that both are potential persons is morally irrelevant and (3) adoption is not always in the best interest of actual people, the authors argue that what we call ‘after-birth abortion’ (killing a newborn) should be permissible in all the cases where abortion is, including cases where the newborn is not disabled.

Giubilini and Minerva state, “Sometimes the two reasons are connected, such as when a woman claims that a disabled child would represent a risk to her mental health. However, having a child can itself be an unbearable burden for the psychological health of the woman or for her already existing children, regardless of the condition of the fetus. This could happen in the case of a woman who loses her partner after she finds out that she is pregnant and therefore feels she will not be able to take care of the possible child by herself.”

Single parenthood is an ethical justification for euthanasia.

“[W]e need to assess facts in order to decide whether the same arguments that apply to killing a human fetus can also be consistently applied to killing a newborn human,” write Giubilini and Minerva. They note, “Euthanasia in infants has been proposed by philosophers for children with severe abnormalities whose lives can be expected to be not worth living and who are experiencing unbearable suffering.”

Giubilini and Minerva write, “[W]e propose to call this practice ‘after-birth abortion’, rather than ‘infanticide’”

Giubilini and Minerva appear to be making the ethical case for Eugenics.

They truly were the elites of America.”, notes Sullivan.

Have we returned to that period in American history where the infirm, the poor, the minorities are the targets of a “new Eugenics movement“?

Sullivan writes, “Despite the fact that proponents of eugenics thought they were working for a better world, their work became brutish as it advocated only for the good of a very select few.  The horrific result was 60,000 Americans who were forcibly sterilized through state-sponsored eugenics programs that forever ruined countless lives.”

In the 1932 dystopian novel,“Brave New World” Aldous Huxley wrote that:

“In politics the equivalent of a fully developed scientific theory or philosophical system is a totalitarian dictatorship. In economics, the equivalent of a beautifully composed work of art is the smoothly running factory in which the workers are perfectly adjusted to the machines. The Will to Order can make tyrants out of those who merely aspire to clear up a mess. The beauty of tidiness is used as a justification for despotism.”

Report: Florida ethanol plant a bust – zero gallons of biofuel produced

The Institute for Energy Research (IER) did a review of the Environmental Protection Agencies’ (EPA) biofuel mandate. According to IER, “The Energy Policy Act of 2005 requires the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to set mandatory levels of cellulosic biofuel for refiners to blend into transportation fuels.  In order to restrain EPA, the law requires that the mandate be based on an estimate from the Energy Information Administration (EIA) as to how much cellulosic biofuel would be produced in the given year.”

One of the companies formed to meet the need for biofuels is INEOS Bio. INEOS Bio USA, LLC is located at 925 74th Avenue Southwest, Vero Beach, Florida. INEOS Bio’s parent company is the INEOS Group.

INEOS Group was founded by James Arthur “Jim” Ratcliffe, a chemical engineer turned financier and industrialist. According to the 2010 Sunday Times Rich List, Ratcliffe is one of the richest people in the United Kingdom. INEOS Group is the fifth largest chemical company in the world measured by revenues. In April 2010, Ratcliffe relocated the INEOS Group to Lausanne, Switzerland from the UK to cut the tax bill and save the company £100m a year.

The INEOS Bio website states:

The Center is the first large-scale project in the United States to receive registrations from the EPA for a facility using non-food vegetative waste materials (vegetative and yard waste) to produce cellulosic ethanol. Construction on the Center was completed in June 2012, and production of advanced cellulosic bioethanol is scheduled to begin in the 4th Quarter. INEOS Bio has plans to run municipal solid waste at the Center after the initial start-up.

The BioEnergy Center created more than 400 direct jobs in construction, engineering and manufacturing during its development and injected more than $25 million dollars directly into the Florida economy. The Center has 60 full-time employees and provides $4 million annually in payroll to the local community. The project sourced over 90 percent of the equipment from U.S. manufacturers creating or retaining jobs in more than 10 states.

According to IER:

In November 2011, Ethanol Producer Magazine conducted an interview with INEOS Bio CEO Peter Williams.  The article stated:

The project is on schedule and on budget so far, and if things continue to go as planned, the plant will be mechanically complete in April and will be continuously churning out waste-based ethanol by the second half of next year [2012].

The facilities were not completed by April.  INEOS Bio did not issue a news release on the project until July 23rd, stating:

Construction of Ineos’ $130 million biorefinery joint venture project in the US has been completed, with production expected to begin in the second half of 2012, said Peter Williams, CEO of Ineos Bio, the Switzerland-based company’s bioenergy business.

INEOS Bio did not produce any cellulosic ethanol in the second half of 2012.  In a subsequent news release on August 9, 2012, the company stated:

The Center is scheduled to begin production in the 3rd Quarter of this year.

In an October 31, 2012 news release, INEOS Bio stated:

Construction on the Center was completed in June 2012, and production of advanced cellulosic bioethanol is scheduled to begin in the 4th Quarter.

As EPA is aware, INEOS Bio produced 0 gallons of cellulosic biofuel from it[s] Florida plant in 2012.  As of the date of this comment, the company still has not produced any cellulosic biofuel in 2013.

Smart Brief reported, “Ineos Bio has joined Algenol in asking Florida Gov. Rick Scott to reject a bill [HB 4001] that would do away with the state’s ethanol requirement. Signing the bill into law “would send a clear signal to companies like ours and other investors that Florida is unfriendly to advanced biofuels, investing in new technology and jobs it creates or to building a clean energy economy,” Ineos CEO Peter Williams wrote in an e-mail. The bill “is an all-out attack on ethanol,” said Algenol CEO Paul Woods, adding, “I would rather go to a state that welcomes the jobs and the opportunity.”

HB 4001 reads:

An act relating to the Florida Renewable Fuel Standard 2 Act; repealing ss. 526.201-526.207, F.S., the Florida Renewable Fuel Standard Act, to remove the requirement that all gasoline offered for sale in this state include a percentage of ethanol, subject to specified exemptions, waivers, suspensions, extensions, enforcement, and reporting; amending s. 206.43, F.S.; conforming a cross-reference; providing an effective date.

Governor Scott signed HB 4001 on May 31, 2013. HB 4001 takes effect July 1st, 2013.

American Academy of Pediatricians wrong on “gay social stigmatization”

GAINESVILLE, Fla., June 25, 2013 /Standard Newswire/ — The American College of Pediatricians (the College) applauds raising awareness of the health disparities among youth who claim a non-heterosexual identity, and is committed to promoting the best for all children. However, the College disputes the recent policy statement issued by the American Academy of Pediatricians (AAP) claiming that elevated health risks associated with non-heterosexual sexual activity are due primarily to social stigmatization, and that pediatricians should affirm non-heterosexual attractions in adolescents as normal.

The College states, “Physicians are unethical to withhold all facts from LGBTQ youth.”

In its call to affirm LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning) youth, the AAP overlooks the best interest of these adolescents. Despite the AAP claim to the contrary, there is no evidence that the grave health risks, self-destructive behaviors, and struggles with self-image associated with the LGBTQ lifestyle are caused primarily by social stigmatization; the same elevated rates exist in countries long accepting of these lifestyles. Delaying all sexual activity and delaying “coming out” during adolescence is the best way to avoid these negative consequences.

Savin-Williams and Ream in their 2007 research documented so many changes in sexual attractions among youth that they questioned whether the concept of sexual orientation had any meaning for adolescents. Seventy-five percent of adolescents who had some initial same-sex attraction between the ages of 17-21 ultimately declared exclusive heterosexuality.

Moreover, contrary to the AAP statement, rates of success and negative effects of psychotherapy aimed at changing homosexual attractions are on par with those of therapy aimed at other behavioral challenges. Not only is psychotherapy therefore appropriate to offer any questioning adolescent but it is unethical to withhold it.

Dr. Den Trumbull, president of the American College of Pediatricians states, “In many cases, youth experience sexual confusion. They need the private counsel of their parents, and sometimes the assistance of a therapist. They do not need persons of authority affirming that these feelings of same-sex attraction are inherent or fixed for life.”

The College encourages pediatricians to welcome all adolescents. Patients expressing gender confusion or same-sex attractions need factual advice from their doctors, and sensitivity and patience from their families as they navigate the course together.

Cold Climate Preparation demands US Academic Support

The Orlando, FL headquartered Space and Science Research Corporation (SSRC) announced today that it has launched a nationwide campaign to encourage the largest US academic institutions to become active participants in getting the US prepared for the next climate change, expected to be one of decades of extreme cold weather.

The campaign is in the form of a letter being sent to the heads of major US universities and colleges, academic associations, science and environmental departments, media, and government leaders. Universities in the Washington, D.C. area will be the first to be notified.

The letter was composed by SSRC President, Mr. John L. Casey. Mr. Casey is the leading climate researcher in the US advocating national and international preparedness for the coming cold climate era. His foundational research into cycles of the Sun completed in 2007, led him to the creation of the “Relational Cycle Theory” of global climate change and subsequently, the SSRC. This theory establishes that the Sun drives climate change, not mankind and that repeating cycles of the Sun allow us to predict climate changes decades in advance.

Shock Video: Abortion Doctor Compares Death Injection to ‘Flu Shot’

The latest investigative video [below] from the anti-abortion group Live Action unveiled Thursday shows an Albuquerque, New Mexico abortion doctor comparing the injection used to kill a fetus to a flu shot. The shocking video provided to Secrets features recordings from Dr. Carmen Landau, of Southwest Women’s Options in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and a counselor employed at the same facility.

In the video, the fifth in a series meant to draw attention to the disturbing procedures at abortion clinics highlighted by the recent Philadelphia murder trial of Dr. Kermit Gosnell, Landau tells the investigator acting at a women seeking an abortion that the injection that will kill her baby is “like any shot, you know, like a flu shot, or a vaccine, really.” It comes as 6:20 in the video.

Orlando group predicts another strong earthquake before July in SW China

John Casey, the co-founder of the Orlando, Florida headquartered International Earthquake and Volcano Prediction Center, in the below video talks about the center’s prediction that there’s going to be another earthquake in Southwest China before the end of July. He talked about the methods used by the center to conduct prediction and cautioned the Chinese government to prepare for future earthquakes.

With such an historic capability to make predictions accurately with long notification periods, the IEVPC believes that perhaps many thousands of lives can be saved annually.

The International Earthquake and Volcano Prediction Center (IEVPC) was founded by a team of scientists and other experts with established track records for excellence in science research, especially tectonics, volcanism, seismic research, management, and other skills necessary for achieving the Mission and Objectives of the IEVPC. This team originated after its founders realized that there were strong correlations between the occurrences of earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic activity, solar activity, and precursor geophysical events.

These precursors have been studied for many years by the IEVPC founders, staff scientists and researchers who represent the primary body of expertise in understanding these early signals that catastrophic geophysical events (CGE) are about to strike.

Behind the Green Mask (+ video)

The Wars, Attack of Christians, Attack of God & Religion, Chem-trails  Economic and Monetary Collapse, Government Corruption, Carbon Taxes, Gun Control, CORPORATE Owned Media, UFO Sham, Erosion of Rights, Lies About Global Warming, Lies About Overpopulation, Perversion of Societal Values, Dumbing Down, Drugs, Substandard K-12 Education, Monsanto, are all a result of the Mandates set forth by U.N. Agenda 21.

At the Rio 2012 Summit on UN Agenda 21, it was stated that “Governments should invest their transportation money on Public Transportation because roadways only largely benefit those that own vehicles”. Really? I thought Roadways benefited the Economy and Society as a Whole. Roadways get us to and from work, to grocery stores, to the bank, to restaurants, to shopping malls. Roadways transport our food and things we need. The UN intends to Impede our Right to Travel and Pursuit of Happiness.

As far as the Middle East Wars go, Reagan demonstrated that war is unnecessary. When Khadaffi was openly threatening us, Reagan bombed his house and we didn’t hear much from him after that. The other middle east countries quickly fell in line and repaired their relations with us. With the technology we have today, and that includes Intelligence, Satellite, SDI, Drones and DEWS, we could take out the hostile leaders of these countries without having to go to war.

How did it come to this? It all started with the Fabian Society and the Act of 1871, where Congress created the DC Corporation & created a new Constitution, then the FEDERAL US GOVERNMENT became a Corporation. As the largest Corporate Conglomerate on the planet, the US GOVERNMENT owns majority shares in ALL of THE Fortune 500 Companies and their CAFR reports prove this (See the channel belonging to Corporation Nation “Dear Matt Damon” videos). The Act of 1871 was not only Unconstitutional, but is INVALID. The FED GOVERNMENT we have today is the de Facto, or Shadow Government. But, we cannot do anything about that now but we can put a halt to the Ultimate Goal, which is this Evil Agenda and then begin to put this Great Country of ours back together and reverse the treasonous legislation. We must also OUST anyone who showed any inkling of support for UN Agenda 21. UN Agenda 21 has been in the works for decades, now, and is the primary reason for the corruption & depravity we see everywhere today at all levels.

Don’t let yourselves be fooled – everything else is a smokescreen to keep your attention away from Agenda 21. Once Agenda 21 becomes fully implemented, all hope is lost. Get the information out to your neighbors, home owners, business owners. Chances are, they have never heard of UN Agenda 21. Since Agenda 21 is implemented Locally, once the people are mobilized, they can take the issue to their City Council and County and put a halt to all policies, monies and ties to UN Agenda 21 and ICLEI.

Global Climate Status Report sent to Senator Reid and Speaker Boehner

The Orlando, Florida based Space and Science Research Corporation (SSRC) announced the public release of the Executive Summary for its Global Climate Status Report for 2013. This scientific data based document provides political leaders, business executives, educators and the general public with a concise overview of the actual climate trends now present and an analysis of the Earth’s climate future based on these trends.

In the Executive Summary, the SSRC report authors show convincing evidence that the Earth’s atmospheric and oceanic temperatures are on a long term temperature cool down as a result of the just started reduction in the Sun’s energy output. Called a “solar hibernation,” this rare and powerful natural cycle of the Sun has been shown to bring long and potentially dangerous cold climate eras to the planet.

Using data form numerous researchers and science organizations, in addition to the SSRC’s own research, the Executive Summary spells out with detailed charts of climate trends, what is actually happening with the climate.

According to SSRC President, Mr. John L. Casey, “This report was planned for some time. Clearly though, its release at this time is intended to put some reality into the ongoing Congressional debates about to begin on the administration’s proposed new carbon taxes and other regulations supposedly designed to stop man-made global warming.”

“The government’s release of its own draft climate assessment report continues to show our government is on the wrong track for addressing climate change and is still shackled to the disproved greenhouse gas theory of climate change. As is well known, however, past predictions about the climate using that theory have been all wrong, global warming ended years ago, and now a new cold climate has arrived. The general public and our leaders need the truth about climate change at their disposal before making long term decisions about climate change for government policy and managing their day-to-day lives. This next climate change to a potentially dangerous cold climate needs to be well understood by all so they can best prepare for what is coming,” notes Casey.

“I am sending letters and copies of the report to Senate President Harry Reid and Speaker of the House John Boehner as well as other leaders at the federal and state level,” states Casey.

The Executive Summary is now posted for public download from the SSRC web site. The full Global Climate Status Report, will be available for a fee when published on March 4, 2013.

An Atheist and Muslim Debate: Is Religion a Force for Good or Evil?

Richard Dawkins, author of The God Delusion and a self-professed atheist, agreed to an Al Jazeera interview with Mehdi Hasan, a Muslim journalist. The interview is highly enlightening. This may be the first time Dawkins has been interviewed by a journalist who is faithful to the second largest religion in the world – Islam.

While this begins as an interview it turns into more of an interrogation and at times a debate between Dawkins, with Hasan taking the position of a theist.

According to Al Jazeera, “Fanaticism, fundamentalism, superstition and ignorance. Religion is getting a bad press these days. Much of the conflict in the world, from the Middle East to Nigeria and Myanmar, is often blamed on religion.”

“But how are things from a different perspective? Defenders of religion claim Adolf Hitler was an atheist. Communism under Joseph Stalin, Pol Pot or Mao Zedong banned religion, but also massacred millions. And science brought incredible and amazing advances, but also pollution and the atomic bomb,” notes Al Jazeera.

During the interview Hasan notes that religion like science can be used for good or evil. Both Dawkins and Hasan agree that politics has a lot to do with how both are perceived and used. Has science become a religion to those like Dawkins?

During the interview Dawkins and Hasan discuss the existence of a mono-theistic God. Dr. William Lane Craig, noted Christian apologist and author of Reasonable Faith, lays out detailed arguments that God does exist in his column “The New Atheism and Five Arguments for God“. Dr. Craig’s moral argument for a God, for example, takes the following form:

  • If God does not exist, objective moral values and duties do not exist.
  • Objective moral values and duties do exist.
  • Therefore, God exists.

It is in times of great suffering and turmoil that individuals turn to religion. Many believe we are in those times and religion may be the only thing that will provide us with comfort and salvation. What do you think?

American Public School Students Going Hungry?

The Huffington Post column “Michelle Obama’s Low-Calorie School Lunches Slammed By ‘Hungry’ High Schoolers” reports, “Michelle Obama’s childhood obesity initiative has been the subject of conservative criticism for some time, and now there’s another group joining in on the attack.”

The group that HuffPo is referring to are public school students, whose video titled “We Are Hungry” [watch below] about school lunches has gone viral.

The video beings with the statement – Active teens require between 2,000 and 5,000 calories a day to meet energy and growth needs (“A Guide to Eating for Sports“).

According to Beverly L. Girard, PhD, MBA, RD, Director of Food and Nutrition Services for Sarasota County Florida Schools, “President Harry S. Truman signed the National School Lunch Act on June 4, 1946. Though school food service began long before 1946, the Act authorized the National School Lunch Program. The legislation came in response to claims that many American men had been rejected for World War II military service because of diet-related health problems [recruits were undernourished]. The federally assisted meal program was established as ‘a measure of national security, to safeguard the health and well-being of the Nation’s children and to encourage the domestic consumption of nutritious agricultural commodities’.”

Upon signing the National School Lunch Program legislation President Truman stated, “Despite our capacity to produce food we have often failed to distribute it as well as we should … Congress has contributed immeasurably both to the welfare of our farmers and the health of our children.”

Have we met, if not surpassed, the initial legislative intent of Congress? Do we need government to be concerned about those volunteering for our military services having diet-related health problems? Do we need to be concerned about the redistribution of food given our nation wide system of grocery store chains? Is government the best determiner of a child’s eating habits? Do taxpayers need to provide welfare for farmers?

Many citizens are questioning governments expanding role in the free and reduced lunch program as amended by the Health and Hunger-Free Act of 2010. The new guidelines — the first major overhaul of school meals in 15 years — mandate public school cafeterias serve less fat and sodium and more fruits, vegetables and whole grains.

Taxpayers are also questioning the growing number of students on free and reduced lunches. Sarasota County, one of the wealthiest counties in Florida, has 50.37% of students in the district currently eligible for free or reduced price meals according to Dr. Girard.

Dr. Girard notes, “The determining body for the revised USDA meal pattern was the Institute of Medicine, chaired by Virginia Stallings, MD, The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, University of Pennsylvania.” Why does one institution have such power in determining what and how much children should eat?

The lunch caloric ranges for students are: elementary students – 550-650 calories; middle school students – 600 to 700 calories and high school students – 750 to 850 calories. Dr. Girard states, “If a child eats lunch at school for the 180 days of the school year, they receive about 16.4% of the meals they eat in a year at school. Sarasota school lunches represent adequate portion size and nutritional balance.”

Michelle Obama is concerned about obesity in America. It appears that the free and reduced lunch program’s initial intent to address the diet-related health problems of our draftees is no longer needed. Perhaps it is time to reconsider the need for this federal program?

If obesity is a problem then is there an over redistribution of food in America?

Is this the the American version of Hunger Games?

MOVIE REVIEW: Prometheus An Epic to Darwinism

I enjoy epic movies, particularly epic science fiction movies. Star Wars, Star Trek, and Close Encounters of the Third Kind are all epic science fiction. Ridley Scott’s new film Prometheus does not rise to the level of Star Wars, but its visuals are stunning. Many science fiction movies deal with human struggles; Prometheus tries to deal with the greatest question of all: Where did mankind come from?

Ridley comes firmly down on the side of Darwinism. Prometheus is no more than Darwinian propaganda.

The opening scene is of a human-like alien coming to earth where he self-destructs. His DNA then flows into the pristine waters of a new Earth, and from that comes mankind. This scenario is used by atheists to describe the origin of mankind. Some scientists and atheists suggest that lightning struck a primordial soup of chemicals and suddenly life began. Ridley promotes the idea that we came from extraterrestrials. That is the theme of the movie – man’s quest for his alien origin. A fool’s errand if there ever was one, as the movie demonstrates.

The characters are scientists on a quest to a distant galaxy seeking the “engineers” of mankind. What they end up finding is, surprise, the last of a race of extraterrestrials who are bent on killing mankind. At the end the alien species is co-joined with a slimy alien species to create a new alien species – pure Darwinism. Get ready for Prometheus II: Darwin Evolving, the sequel.

Of course Ridley does have one character who clings to a cross given to her by her father. That cross, symbolizing another reasonable explanation for the origin of man, is never fully developed. At the end it is this character who survives, wearing her cross. Ridley does not end his movie on a positive note but rather on a negative note. Because of that, he lost my interest and he devolved into commercialism.

I would like Ridley to address intelligent design by a supreme being – a.k.a. God – in a future movie. Now that would be an epic.

Ridley could have made the argument, that “yes there is a God” and he designed us. There are more rational arguments in favor of intelligent design than not. Perhaps the most powerful argument for the existence of God is offered by William Lane Craig, author of Reasonable Faith: Christian Truth and Apologetics and On Guard: Defending Your Faith with Reason and Precision. Dr. Craig presents the Moral Argument for the existence of a supreme being as:

1. If God does not exist, objective moral values and duties do not exist.
2. Objective moral values and duties do exist.
3. Therefore, God exists.

Ridley deals with this in his film. Each character is faced with objective moral values and decisions. Objective moral decisions such as: seeking immortality, using science to further nefarious ends, robotics, cloning and even the creation of alien biological weapons of mass destruction. Evil does exist within each of the characters in Prometheus and good does somehow triumph. However, evil is reborn in the form of another alien being, a hybrid portrayed in his original film Aliens.

I would have wished Ridley had delved into a rational and scientific analysis of God as the most likely “engineer” of us all.

For Progressives Science is a One-Way Street named “Settled”

The term “settled science” is used by progressives and the media on a routine bases. According to EcoWho.com, “Settled Science is a phrase often encountered in newspapers and press reports, usually associated with climate change reporting. Basically it is used to indicate that the science of climate change is ‘settled’ and therefore further discussion on the point is pointless as the underlying science is so strong as to not require any more discussion.”

“The real problem is that proper science is never ‘settled’ rather it moves and advances as new findings are made, even when what was effected was considered solid fact (like the Earth being flat and the center of the universe)”, states EcoWho.com.

Jennifer Marshall, writer for The Foundry,  in her column, “Why the Liberal Intolerance for New Family Structures Study?” observes, “The author of a new study showing some negative outcomes for young adults whose parents had same-sex relationships is under attack because his findings conflict with what, in some corners, has become conventional wisdom. Apparently, the idea that there is “no difference” between children of same-sex parents and their peers raised in traditional married mother-and-father households has become so entrenched among some advocates that new research presenting a contrasting picture is unwelcome—to put it mildly.” [My emphasis]

For the progressive gay agenda the science is settled. As Jennifer notes, “And these [critics] are the folks who urge us to be tolerant of differences and respect scientific research.”

Bernie Goldberg in his book Bias: A CBS Insider Exposes How the Media Distort the News, talks about  how in the 1980s the media began reporting on the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The narrative was that HIV/AIDS was wide spread in the heterosexual community when then as now the disease is primarily confined to men who have sex with men (MSM) and intravenous drug users. In Florida 70% of known HIV/AIDS cases were caused by MSM according to the Florida Department of Health. This narrative, according to Goldberg, was promoted without scientific evidence or any research. The media message trumps science.

More recently the settled science that being gay is genetically based has been called into question. The best-designed study of sexual-orientation change efforts (SOCE) to date, has just concluded in a follow-up report that some people can indeed move from homosexuality to heterosexuality, and that harm is unlikely to result from such efforts. The original study was published in 2007 by Stanton Jones, Ph.D., of Wheaton College, and Mark Yarhouse, Ph.D., of Regent University, in their book, “Ex-Gays?”. The follow-up study has just appeared in the Journal of Sex & Marital Therapy. In the Journal of Sex & Marital Therapy, the authors conclude:

“Evidence from the study suggested that change of homosexual orientation appears possible for some and that psychological distress did not increase on average as a result of the involvement in the change process” (Jones & Yarhouse, 2011, p. 404).”

Alan Caruba in his column “The 50th Anniversary of ‘Silent Spring’: A Lethal Legacy“, warns that settled science can have long term negative effects. “This year marks the 50th anniversary of the publication of ‘Silent Spring’ by Rachel Carson; a book that is credited with giving rise to the environmental movement in general and, in particular, America’s unfounded fears of pesticides, especially DDT”, writes Alan. Alan states, “Carson kicked off  ‘the precautionary principle’ cited by environmental groups and government agencies that, in effect, leaves the public defenseless against the health threats that Mother Nature provides in the form of insects and rodents known to spread disease, or mold-contaminants such as aflatoxin, many times more toxic than the fumigant that was banned to control it.” Carson’s book was based upon “settled science”, which has since been proven to be false by among others Entomologist J. Gordon Edwards.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), “About 3.3 billion people – half of the world’s population – are at risk of malaria. In 2010, there were about 216 million malaria cases … People living in the poorest countries are the most vulnerable to malaria. In 2010, 90% of all malaria deaths occurred in the WHO African Region, mostly among children under five years of age.” DDT is effective in killing the mosquitoes that spread malaria.

Settled science is an oxymoron as pointed out by EcoWho.com. Science is never settled but for political purposes it can be made to be so.
