Many Beltway Republicans miniaturize the problem this plan presents. Stating the obvious, they argue that our government cannot conceivably vet these immigrants. Therefore, the argument goes, we cannot figure out who is a legitimate refugee and who is an ISIS terrorist — like the suicide jihadist, believed to be from Syria, who recently entered Europe with the tide of immigrants and helped carry out last week’s attacks in Paris.
But identifying terrorists is not the half of it. The bigger challenge is the infiltration of a population of people schooled to resist assimilation. President Trump has called for merit based immigration to the United States. According to the White House fact sheet on immigration:
Merit-based immigration reform will benefit American workers and relieve the strain imposed by our current system on Federal resources.
- Years of mass low-skilled immigration has led to suppressed wages and has strained Federal resources.
- Most immigrants who receive green cards every year are low-skilled or unskilled workers.
- Almost one-third of all adult immigrants in the United States have not graduated high school.
- Only about 1 of every 15 immigrants who come to the United States each year is admitted on the basis of skill.
- Our current immigration system strains the resources of our Nation’s welfare programs.
- More than half of all immigrant households use one or more welfare programs.
- Immigrants with a college education or higher, however, are less likely to receive welfare benefits.
- Real hourly wages for Americans with a high school diploma or lower have declined since 1979.
Paris has become a sh**hole because of an out of control immigration system based upon social justice rather than assimilation. It is well past time for Congress to tighten up our immigration system and make it merit based. This is yet another reason the 2018 midterm elections are so very important.

I have watched all eight initial episodes of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan series an Amazon Prime original series. I can only say that it is stunning in its honest treatment of the difficulties faced in war between the U.S. government (CIA, DOD, DHS) against the global Islamist threat. I can’t wait for then next episodes.

Why is this series so different from what most people see? Because it tells the truth about Islam. Because of this I found it refreshing that this series was ever made given the pro-Islamic bent of Hollywood. The lead character is Jack Ryan played by John Krasinski, who appeared in “13 Hours” the docudrama about Benghazi.
I found this series politically incorrect but the best portrayal of what America faces from the followers of Islam. Here are some of the reasons:
I won’t tell you about episode #8 but it is a fitting finish to this first season of Jack Ryan.
This series is the best portrayal of who and what we are fighting. What is interesting is that during the November 2018 midterm elections we find that the Democrat Party has nearly 90 Muslim candidates. Not to speak of the co-Chair on the DNCC, Keith Ellison, who is a Muslim and supports groups like that which Jack Ryan is fighting.
I highly recommend this thriller to all to see and learn from its many lessons.
The Democrat Socialist running for governor of the state of Florida appeared on CNN. Gillum’s platform contains lots of free stuff but isn’t clear on how it would be paid for. Gillum’s campaign website states:
Andrew believes that healthcare should be a fundamental right, not a privilege. Instead, extreme politicians refuse to acknowledge that Floridians struggle every day to keep themselves and their families from going bankrupt due to the lack or cost of healthcare. Andrew believes that Senator Sanders’ Medicare for All plan will help lower costs and expand coverage to more Floridians. [Emphasis added]

MyPanhandle.com did an analysis of Gillum’s policies. Here is what they found:
According to his website, Gillum believes that climate change is real and is an urgent threat. He believes the best way to address the impacts of climate change is to “to embrace a plan to transition Florida to clean energy as rapidly as possible.”
Gillum says he supports the legalization of marijuana, “in order to generate new revenue to pay for teacher and instructional staff pay increases and to reduce the mass incarceration of people with low-level drug offenses.”
Gillum says he will push for equal pay legislation and will protect and encourage women-owned businesses.
Gillum’s website states that he “trusts women to make their own healthcare decisions with their doctor — not politicians.” He says he is the only candidate to propose a law protecting women’s access to no-cost contraceptive care under Obamacare.
The DeSantis campaign in an email states:
When it comes to raising taxes, Andrew Gillum just can’t help himself.
First he proposed increasing the corporate income tax by over a billion dollars. Now he has gone even further with his disastrous “plan” for single-payer healthcare that, if implemented nationwide, would cost taxpayers nearly 33 TRILLION dollars.
[ … ]
He also proposed Florida joining a “confederation of states” with California, New York, and other left-wing states in order to negotiate the socialist healthcare plan. We’re still not sure what that means or if it’s possible.

That’s United Way’s defense for the $2.7 million in donations given to Planned Parenthood in 2016. Apparently, United Way thinks because “only a small number” of chapters give, we shouldn’t be concerned that the dollars donated could pay for at least 2,901 Planned Parenthood abortions.
United Way is the world’s largest privately funded non-profit organization and raises over $5 billion every year. United Way claims neutrality on the Life issue, but many chapters have financially supported Planned Parenthood programs. According to United Way’s own admission, an estimated 5-6% of local chapters have financial ties.

The death of my old friend John McCain evoked mixed emotions. On the one hand, there is a sense of bittersweet happiness for the Senator and his family that the suffering which marked his final years is at an end.
On the other hand, I am saddened that John’s passing evidently was not accompanied by an acknowledgement of a serious strategic error he made, let alone an apology to someone he very uncivilly wronged in the process.
In 2012, Sen. McCain took to the Senate floor to denounce then- Representative Michele Bachmann for having posed officially entirely legitimate questions about the Muslim Brotherhood’s influence on, and penetration of, the U.S. government.
That attack contributed to Ms. Bachmann’s premature departure from Congress. Worse, it chilled to this day the necessary oversight of and response to our Sharia-supremacist enemies, domestic as well as foreign.

An illegal immigrant from Mexico stands accused of killing college student Mollie Tibbetts and dumping her body in an Iowa cornfield — after he allegedly accosted her during a July 18 jog and she threatened to call police.
Cristhian Bathena Rivera, 24, was charged with first-degree murder Tuesday in Tibbetts’ death, officials confirmed.
Authorities said Rivera, who lived in the rural Poweshiek County area, is being held on a federal immigration detainer. He’s believed to have been in the area for four to seven years.
The body of Tibbetts, a 20-year-old University of Iowa student, was found Tuesday in a field covered with corn stalks.
