NAACP Disgrace: Rev. Barber and the Negro’s loss of grievances

There can be no debate that a duplicitous hypocrisy exists when it comes to the vitriol black conservatives must face – not only from the white liberal establishment but from other blacks as well.

My Approved Portraits

Senator Tim Scott (R-SC).

So enter the latest example of this heinous practice by Rev. William Barber II, a leader in the North Carolina NAACP. As reported in the Washington Post,

While speaking at Zion Baptist Church in Columbia, South Carolina, Rev. Barber made these comments referring to South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, “A ventriloquist can always find a good dummy. The extreme right wing down here finds a black guy to be senator and claims he’s the first black senator since Reconstruction, and then he goes to Washington, D.C., and articulates the agenda of the Tea Party.”

Senator Scott was appointed by Governor Nikki Haley to the position after former Senator Jim DeMint resigned in late 2012. Senator Scott issued this response, “To reflect seriously on the comments of a person, a pastor, that is filled with baseless and meaningless rhetoric would be to do a disservice to the very people who have sacrificed so much and paved a way. Instead, I will honor the memory of Dr. King by being proactive in holding the door for others and serving my fellow man. And Rev. Barber will remind me and others of what not to do.”

Rev. Barber made his remarks as he spoke on issues such as healthcare and voting. He is a staunch opponent of voter ID but one has to ask, did he speak out against the DNC requiring picture ID for entry into their convention held in Charlotte NC in 2012?

Barber later told FoxNews.com that King “emphasized love and justice rather than extremism,” and that support for “the far right” ignores problems in South Carolina such as aid to the poor and public education.

I wonder if Rev. Barber consents to the expanding poverty and food stamp rolls that have occurred under the past 5 years of the Obama administration. Furthermore, I suppose Rev. Barber concurs with President Obama and his decision in 2009 to cancel the DC school voucher program for deserving young black children — while Obama sends his own daughters to the prestigious Sidwell Friends School.

Such hypocrisy is unconscionable but not unexpected from individuals who Booker T. Washington — surely one of those extremist black “dummies” — described a century ago:

There is another class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs — partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.

The Rev. Kevin E. Donalson Sr., the Zion Baptist Church’s pastor who hosted Rev. Barber, meanwhile, told FoxNews.com that although he agreed “in principle” with Barber’s comments, he would not have used such language. And although he’s “grateful” that South Carolina has an African-American senator, he believes the policies Scott supports hurt the people whom King spent his life trying to help.

This is the insidious perspective coming from these so-called black leaders. They do not want to accept policies that support economic growth and prosperity for the black community. They are more than happy to keep the black community on a 21st century liberal plantation in exchange for votes and their own position of relevance.

Rev. Barber reminds me of the practice in Africa of certain black tribes capturing and selling other blacks to white slavers. It seems this practice continues but in a different manner, but the end result remains — economic servitude and enslavement to the welfare nanny-state, instead of the physical chains of bondage.

I find it shameful that any attempt to promote policies, such as urban economic empowerment zones, which would enable a better standard of living, are attacked as extreme.

The heart of the black community is conservative and these ministers preach individual salvation on Sunday. Unfortunately, they preach collective subjugation Monday to Saturday.

President Obama is Stuck Back on September 10th

It has been said that if you forget the lessons of history, you are doomed to repeat past mistakes.

Nowhere is this more apparent in President Obama’s naïveté when it comes to the threat from Jihadist terrorism.

In an interview with the New Yorker magazine over the weekend, Obama once again downplayed the threat from Al Qaeda.

He indicated that the current Al Qaeda was the “jayvee” and followed that up with a disturbingly mindless analogy using basketball to describe the threat from Al Qaeda, a global Jihadist terrorist organization that has killed thousands of Americans.

Obama even went so far as to infer that Al Qaeda’s activities don’t always threaten America when he said that “how we think about terrorism has to be defined and specific enough that it doesn’t lead us to think that any horrible actions that take place around the world that are motivated in part by an extremist Islamic ideology are a direct threat to us or something that we have to wade into.”

This shows what can only be described as a “September 10th” mindset from the leader of the most powerful nation on earth.

Just two weeks ago, CNN reported that Al Qaeda currently controls more territory in more countries and boasts more Jihadi fighters than at any time in its history.

Does Obama not view the geographic metastasizing of Al Qaeda as a threat to America?

Has he forgotten the lessons from history?

Has he forgotten how Al Qaeda used remote bases in desolate nations like Sudan and Afghanistan to recruit and train Jihadis and then plot and launch terrorist attacks against American targets…

…in August of 1998 when Al Qaeda bombed our embassies in Kenya and Tanzania…

…in October of 2000 when Al Qaeda bombed the USS Cole in Aden harbor in Yemen…

…and on September 11th, 2001 in Washington DC, New York and over the skies of Pennsylvania?

How can the president of the United States so cavalierly dismiss the growing threat from the terrorists?

America is being compromised and betrayed from the top. At a time when America needs strong and wise leadership, a president at the helm who understands the grave threat to our nation and what to do to protect it, we are instead dealing with a president who is basing his foreign policy on wishful thinking not reality; on the ideological world he sees instead of the real world we live in.

We cannot play Russian roulette with our safety, the security of our children and the future of Western civilization. We cannot base our survival strategy on some exaggerated theory of small “core Al Qaeda” scattered around the world that doesn’t really affect America – Really Mr. President?

This administration is populated with Pseudorealists pushing their touchy-feely, goody-two-shoes worldview. They believe first and foremost in negotiating with our sworn enemies. They have a rosy picture of the world and how they think it should be. In reality, they are chasing a concoction of idealistic imaginings like little children chasing butterflies. There is a big hornet’s nest ahead and America is going to run headlong into it.

This dangerously naïve philosophy was driven home forcefully last week when the Obama Justice Department, headed by Attorney General Eric Holder, imposed new rules on federal agents forbidding them from basing decisions on investigations on the religion or national origin of a suspect. In other words, under these new rules, someone from Iceland is viewed the same as someone from Saudi Arabia, Iran or Pakistan!

This is flat out suicidal strategy. The president must face the nation with the truth about Al Qaeda, their growth, their expansion and the ideology that drives them and all other Islamic terrorists threatening to kill Americans.

The stakes are too high, Mr. President, for the wrong assumptions. Our lives and our civilization are on the line.

Food stamps for Pot in Colorado?

In a recent interview with The New Yorker magazine, President Barack Obama said he doesn’t think marijuana is more dangerous than alcohol, “in terms of its impact on the individual consumer.” He even went so far as to remind us of his own drug use (a disqualifier for Top Secret security clearance, by the way),

“As has been well documented, I smoked pot as a kid, and I view it as a bad habit and a vice, not very different from the cigarettes that I smoked as a young person up through a big chunk of my adult life. I don’t think it is more dangerous than alcohol,” the president said.

Well, guess what, the liberal progressives out in Colorado share his assessment. Since pot is no different from cigarettes and no more dangerous than alcohol, as part of the welfare nanny-state expansion, Colorado lawmakers have decided Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) cards, aka Food Stamps, can be used for withdrawals at pot shops. Unbelievable.

As reported by Fox News, Colorado pot shops currently have ATMs where welfare recipients can withdraw cash using their EBT cards.

A Democrat-controlled State Senate committee rejected the Republicans’ proposal to close this loophole. Sen. Vicki Marble, R-Fort Collins, said Colorado’s new legal pot industry needs to make sure not to invite federal scrutiny through improper cash withdrawals at recreational or medical marijuana stores. “Already we are operating an industry which is not allowed under federal law,” said Marble, one of the chief lawmakers involved with Colorado’s marijuana regulation bills.

However, the opposing liberal progressive perspective is always centered on victimization:

“I’m not comfortable limiting that access until I’m certain we’ve done that due diligence to make sure people can access their benefits when they need to,” Sen. Irene Aguilar, D-Denver, said.

I think State Senator Aguilar should go back and read the original intent for the US Food Stamp program, which was to provide healthy nutritious foods — American grown — for lower income families.

This whole matter is completely political and part of the grand design for progressives, where there are no boundaries, no moral standards, and the government — ultimately the American taxpayer — will pick up the tab.

And to think the federal government, under Obama, has produced ads to get even more people on food stamps, including ads appearing in Mexico. Is this just another example of what Alexis de Tocqueville described in the 1800s in his book Democracy in America: The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public’s money.

Is this just another case of political bribery by lawmakers for the return of electoral support, i.e. votes?

Do you think American taxpayers should subsidize the “legal” use of drugs for Coloradans? Of course, if you seek to establish some parameters or restraints on EBT card usage, you’re just a mean, bad, evil, nasty, intolerant, hater Republican.

Well, call me whatever names you wish, but this is wrong and anyone supporting EBT card use at pot shops, strip clubs, and anything not related to actual food is flat out wrong. The state of Colorado conducted a recall vote against several Colorado Democrat State Senators over the issue of gun rights — perhaps lightning will strike twice in the same place?

President Obama: Muslim anti-Semitism is only decades old

He was only about 1,400 years off. “Muslim anti-Semitism is only decades old, Obama claims,” by Neil Munro in the Daily Caller, January 21:

Experts are scoffing at President Barack Obama’s apparent belief that widespread Muslim hatred of Jews is only decades old.

“Obama reveals that he has no idea, or doesn’t want to give the impression that he has any idea, about the reality of Islamic anti-Semitism,” said Robert Spencer, the author of many books on Islamic ideas and director of Jihad Watch.

“Anti-Semitism is hard-wired into Islam,” from its origins before 700, said Andrew Bostom, author of three books about Islam, including “The Legacy of Islamic Antisemitism,” which lists centuries of anti-Semitic hatred, murders, pogroms and apartheid-like discrimination.

Intellectuals, politicians and diplomats are loath to admit the centrality of anti-Semitism in Islamic beliefs, because it fuels conflict with Israel and the West and it can’t be fixed by Westerners, Bostom said. ”You’re dealing with an intractable situation, and people hate intractable situations,” he said, adding “diplomats are the worst.”

In an interview with The New Yorker magazine, Obama described the Muslim hatred of Israel as byproduct of recent fights, not as a consequence of Islam’s doctrinal objection to any Jewish government.

“With respect to Israel, the interests of Israel in stability and security are actually very closely aligned with the interests of the Sunni states,” Obama said.

The “Sunni states” are nations populated by Arabs who believe in the mainstream Sunni version of Islam. In contrast, Iran advocates the Shia version of Islam, which is endorsed by roughly 10 percent of Muslims.

“What’s preventing them from entering into even an informal alliance [against Shia-run Iran] with at least normalized diplomatic relations is not that their interests are profoundly in conflict but the Palestinian issue, as well as a long history of anti-Semitism that’s developed over the course of decades there, and anti-Arab sentiment that’s increased inside of Israel based on seeing [Jewish] buses being blown up,” Obama said….

Obama’s “course of decades” comment “ignores the numerous anti-Semitic teachings of the Quran and other Islamic texts — most notably the Quran’s designation of the Jews as the worst enemies of the believers,” Spencer said.

For example, Spencer cited the fifth chapter of the Quran, which declares that “If [Jews] believed in Allah and the Prophet and that which is revealed unto him, they would not choose them for their friends. But many of them are of evil conduct. Thou wilt find the most vehement of mankind in hostility to those who believe (to be) the Jews and the idolaters.”

The quote is Qur’an 5:82.

The Jew-hatred in the Quran is critical, said Bostom, because orthodox Muslims believe the Quran is a word-for-word copy of a divine book resting on a table in “jannah,” or the Islamic version of heaven. Most Christians believe most of their Bible is open for interpretation, but for Muslims, the Quran is “permanent and perfect. … It applies to all time, it is eternal, it is a pure, divine, eternal form of reality,” Bostom told The Daily Caller.

Islamic traditions also blame a Jewish woman for poisoning their prophet Muhammad, who is credited by Muslims with creating Islam. Several Jews tribes in Saudi Arabia were enslaved, murdered or exiled during the early 600s by Muhammad’s armies, according to Islamic traditions.

The Quran’s words created and maintain Islamic anti-Semitism, which is so ubiquitous that even sects of Sunni and Shia Muslims who are trying to kill each other agree that Jews are to blame for their fighting, he said….

Obama “seems to be attributing the rise in anti-Semitism in Arab culture to the founding of the State of Israel in 1948, which ignores the many anti-Jewish pogroms that took place in that area before the founding of the State of Israel,” said Spencer.

The view fortified his mistaken belief that he can reform the Arab world, Spencer says. ”His hubris is founded upon his ignorance,” Spencer added.

“No well-informed individual could possibly think himself capable of overturning hatreds that are founded in religious texts that are over a millennium old and are still revered by hundreds of millions of people as the perfect and unalterable word of the deity,” Spencer said.

Expecting Christian behavior from Christians

I have been delaying writing this column for more than a year, but in light of recent developments, I have finally decided to address the issue of Christianity and celebrity.

Last year, actress Meagan Good created a controversy when she wore an extremely revealing blue dress at the BET Music Awards show.  The dress was low cut and she was wearing no bra.  Let’s just say, her “twins” were have a moving experience and were filled with excitement, if you get my drift.

I must admit, she looked exceedingly gorgeous in the dress.  I have always viewed her as one of the few actresses in Hollywood who carried herself like a lady.  I often tell girls, “You are a woman because of your age (18 or 21, depending on the state), but you are a lady because of your behavior.”  Meagan is definitely a lady in my eyes.

la-et-st-meagan-goods-dress-stirs-up-holy-cont-001.jpg

Meagan Good

BET asked Good to present the award for best gospel artist during the show, so I assume she wanted to get attention for her outfit, which is pretty common in Hollywood and attention she did get. Meagan has always professed her Christianity in public and had recently married Devon Franklin, a Sony Pictures executive and Seventh Day Adventist pastor.

Her attire set off a firestorm of criticism on social media, with many saying her dress was inappropriate for someone who claimed to be a Christian, married to a preacher, and presenting a gospel award.

Good went to her Instagram to respond, “…I’m not any less holy because the dress I wore – I may not be who people think I should be – but I’m morphing into exactly who God wants me to be… My excuse is never ‘I’m going to do me’ and I don’t feel that I need to make an excuse or defend or what I wore .. I know I have a responsibility – and I’m working daily to fulfill the full potential of all God has created me to be…”

A similar controversy is brewing about Christine Vest.  She is a wanna be gospel singer who recently had a baby by Dwight Howard, center for the Houston Rockets of the N.B.A.  Her only claim to fame is getting pregnant by Howard.  Howard is rumored to have up to five children by five women over six years (no one really seems to know the real number).  So much for his Christianity.

Christine Vest (Courtesy Photo)

Christine Vest.

People have been calling her out for having a kid out of wedlock while calling herself a gospel singer.  As with Good, Vest didn’t take too kindly to the criticism and lashed out at her critics.  She vented on her Instagram, “I’m sorry, but I just have to address all the…people…that consider ‘having a child out of wedlock’ a ‘sin.’  Having fornication is the sin, people. FORNICATION… If you want to rebuke me for fornicating, thanks, but I have repented already.”

Allow me to proffer some unsolicited advice and counsel to Good, Howard, and Vest as a fellow Christian and graduate of Oral Roberts University.

If you publicly profess to be a Christian, then people automatically and rightfully expect you to comport yourself in a certain manner.  It has nothing to do with judging you or about degrees of sin (fornication vs, lying, etc.).  Proclaiming to be a Christian used to conjure up a lot of very positive images – trustworthy, loving, caring, modest, etc.  Now we have gangsta Christian rap music, we have Christian punk rockers, and Christian nude models, etc.  It’s hard to distinguish Christians from sinners.

Mrs. Good, how do you justify appearing in public in a dress where everyone can see your twins in a state of arousal?  Mr. Howard, how do you justify all these babies outside of marriage?  Ms. Vest, how do you justify being a gospel singer and having sex without a condom if you just want to keep it strictly on the health tip?

In a way, they are paying you all a compliment because the public’s reaction to your behavior is a testament to how the world used to view Christians and Christianity.  They expected certain behavior that was beyond reproach.

Each of your reaction show how far Christians and Christianity has fallen from the standards of the past.

Meagan, “Let not then your good be evil spoken of (Romans 14”6);” Dwight, “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death (Proverbs 14:12);” Christine, “All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient:  all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any (1 Corinthians 6:12).”

Meagan, yes, you have a right to wear whatever you choose, but remember you have a responsibility to represent the best of Christendom. Or, as Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 13:11, “When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

Dwight Howard

Dwight Howard

Dwight you came into the NBA talking about being a witness for Christ to your teammates; maybe now it’s time for someone to be a witness to you.

Christine, I don’t think people are trying to judge you rather than to remind you that just because you feel you can doesn’t necessarily mean you should.

Each of you injected your Christianity into the public arena, therefore is it not reasonable for them to expect you to live up to what it means to be a Christian?

The Relentless Hillary Clinton

Who said:

“We’re going to take things from you on behalf of the common good”

“It’s time for a new beginning, for an end to government of the few, by the few, and for the few…and to replace it with shared responsibility, for shared prosperity”

“(We) …can just let business as usual go on and that means something has to be taken away from some people.”

“We have to build a political consensus and that requires people to give up a little bit of their own…in order to create this common ground.”

“I think it’s time to send a clear message to what has become the most profitable sector in the entire economy that they are being watched.”

“I certainly think the free market has failed.”

Was it Joseph Stalin? Lenin? Hugo Chavez? Kim Jong II? All reveal a communist philosophy.

It was Hillary Clinton. Over the years, Hillary has made it clear that the redistribution of wealth—communism—is central to her beliefs and that her regard for capitalism and the free market economy of America is nil.

The election of Hillary Clinton would be an extension of the two terms of Barack Obama and, if possible, worse.

There are moments when a politician’s opportunity to win elections passes—often unnoticed at the time. I think that time was 2008 when Hillary lost the Democratic nomination to an unknown Senator from Illinois who offered “hope and change.”

Eight years later, having served as his Secretary of State, she will share his growing disapproval as Obamacare unfolds as the perfect namesake of the worst President the U.S. has ever known. And then, of course, there is their shared Benghazi scandal.

For these reasons, I believe Hillary will decide her time has passed and elect to avoid the ordeal of a presidential campaign even if the Democrats gave her the opportunity.

Her long career in the public eye has been filled with scandals and failures, not the least of which was her early advocacy of “HillaryCare.” When her husband was President, she was put in charge of developing a plan to take over the healthcare sector despite the fact that she was not an elected official, but merely his wife. It was overwhelmingly rejected.

The most astonishing thing about the 2016 elections is that the Party still regards her as the sole candidate to run for the presidency even as 2014 Democrats seeking reelection are fleeing the disastrous failure of Obamacare and the huge debt that Obama imposed on the nation. In addition, elements of the Party’s base, Millennials—younger voters—and Hispanics are among those deserting it while some are beginning to call for Obama’s resignation.

There is something so disconnected from the facts, from reality, about the Democratic Party that it suggests that those who remain within its numbers are deranged.

Some political pundits will be inclined to dismiss Hillary as too old to run, that her agenda would not stand up to examination, that she would be in effect Obama’s third term, or that her record as Secretary of State is littered with lies and failures.

Democrats do not vote based on such things. They vote out of a nostalgic attachment to its past, to its message of fairness and equality, out of concern for its false “war on women”, “income inequality”, and the accusations leveled against the Republican Party and the Tea Party movement. Democrats will be driven by the belief that it is time for a woman to be President, no matter how awful her qualifications or political beliefs.

This is also a belief of the nation’s leftist media and the momentum of news coverage about Hillary will be orchestrated by her. In the meantime, she will earn tidy sums giving speeches and receiving every leftist award that’s out there. No doubt there is a book in the works as well.

Hillary has left a long record of scandals in the course of her “public service.” The most recent was the lies about the killing of an American ambassador and three security personnel in Benghazi on the 2012 anniversary of 9/11. Most famously, under questioning she said, “What difference does it make?” Nowhere during the course of her service as Secretary of State is there a single major international treaty or significant accomplishment. Indeed, her tenure is marked by the severe loss of respect for America and its influence over foreign affairs.

The Clintons have always been about the acquisition of money to fund their lifestyle. In 1979 Hillary earned $100,000 profit on a $1,000 investment in cattle futures within the course of just nine months. She was guided to the windfall by a highly placed Tyson Foods connection. An investigation into her role as an attorney with the Rose law firm was stymied until its billing records magically appeared in her White House office, years after they had been subpoenaed.

Like Obama, Hillary never recalls anything involved with her past. She knew nothing. She was the victim of others around her. It’s all a right-wing conspiracy.

The real conspiracy has been the takeover of the Democrat Party by the far Left and its elected office holders who appear to have no regard for the decline of the nation thanks to their relentless spending and borrowing.

Hillary Clinton has been among the most relentless of all Democrats, concerned only with her determination to become the next President and for the acquisition of wealth that puts her and Bill firmly in the one percent of the extremely wealthy that Democrats and liberals defame.

A significant defeat of Democrats in 2014’s midterm elections will influence her decision. A lot can happen between now and 2016. Even the mainstream media’s fixation on getting her elected may decline. Stay tuned.

US 9th Circuit Court of Appeals: Bloggers are journalists!

As a citizen journalist and the publisher of this online e-Magazine, I was most interested in the recent decision by the US 9th Circuit Court of Appeals decision to provide the same First Amendment rights given to me and my contributors. Bloggers are no different than journalists!

I started my life as a blogger in 2002 with a free Google blog account. I have, as have the contributors to my e-Mag, matured over the years. Each has learned how to do cutting edge research, tell the truth and cover stories the mainstream media will not cover. This ruling provides each of us, and the new media or Fifth Estate, protections under the US Constitution by validating what we do is for the public good.

Fox News reports, “A federal appeals court ruled Friday that bloggers and the public have the same First Amendment protections as journalists when sued for defamation: If the issue is of public concern, plaintiffs have to prove negligence to win damages. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ordered a new trial in a defamation lawsuit brought by an Oregon bankruptcy trustee against a Montana blogger who wrote online that the court-appointed trustee criminally mishandled a bankruptcy case.”

Gregg Leslie of the Reporters Committee for the Freedom of the Press said the ruling affirms what many have long argued: Standards set by a 1974 U.S. Supreme Court ruling, Gertz v. Robert Welch Inc., apply to everyone, not just journalists.

“It’s not a special right to the news media,” he said. “So it’s a good thing for bloggers and citizen journalists and others.”

Crystal L. Cox, a blogger from Eureka, Mont., now living in Port Townshend, Wash., was sued for defamation by Bend attorney Kevin Padrick and his company, Obsidian Finance Group LLC, after she made posts on several websites she created accusing them of fraud, corruption, money-laundering and other illegal activities. The appeals court noted Padrick and Obsidian were hired by Summit Accommodators to advise them before filing for bankruptcy, and that the U.S. Bankruptcy Court later appointed Padrick trustee in the Chapter 11 case. The court added that Summit had defrauded investors in its real estate operations through a Ponzi scheme.

A jury in 2011 had awarded Padrick and Obsidian $2.5 million.

Troubling Jurisprudence in Miami-Dade: The Tale of Two Teachers

The actions by the Miami-Dade School District in the aftermath of Adobegate have been troubling to say the least and poses interesting questions in terms of justice and fairness for the parties involved.

How is it that the black, Christian, union member bears the brunt and gets the worst of Adobegate and the white, Jewish, non-union member gets a slap on the wrist?

How is it that I, a Catholic union steward, is removed from the school, following an unsuccessful transfer a month earlier, when I did nothing wrong?

The Miami-Dade OIG Final Report concluded that, “Miami Norland has benefited in the form of attaining a higher school grade and may have received financial compensation or other benefit resulting from its high pass rate on the industry certification exams” (page 13).

With the assistance of cheating, undertaken by Mr. Emmanuel Fleurantin and Mrs. Brenda Muchnick, Miami Norland’s school grade went from a “C” for the 2010-11 school year to an “A” for the 2011-12 school year.

As a result, total federal funds (SIG, RTTT) given out due to a grade influenced by cheating was $100,560; the total state funds per FSRP was between $130,000- $140,000; the total overall combined federal and state incentive funds were $230,560- $240,560.

Each teacher at Miami Norland Senior High School received $1730.41 from all three payouts.

On October 16, 2013, the Miami-Dade School Board voted to terminate Mr. Emmanuel Fleurantin for his role in Adobegate, and rightfully so.

On November 19, 2013, the Miami-Dade School Board voted to suspend Mrs. Brenda Muchnick for 30 working days without pay for her role in Adobegate, which boggles the mind.

When Mr. Fleurantin appeared alone on the D55 item of the School Board Agenda on October 16, 2013, something seemed amiss and it was common sense that something was in the works given the disparity in actions taken against them.

Most crimes, such as theft and homicide, have varying degrees; test cheating does not and state law is straightforward and clear.  In any given instance of test cheating, a role is a role; there is no distinguishing a major role from a minor role. Either one was involved or they were not.

Both Mr. Fleurantin and Mrs. Muchnick, according to the Miami-Dade OIG Final Report, allegedly “knowingly and willfully” violated test security rules irrespective of quantity of students in their respective roles.

When one reads that document and the Department of Administrative Hearings brief, issued by the School Board Attorney on January 8, 2014, justifying Mr. Fleurantin’s termination, one can reasonably conclude that Mrs. Muchnick is equally culpable and a reasonable person would think her employment was up for termination as well.

Excerpts concerning the actions of Ms. Muchnick from Mr. Harvey’s brief follow:

18. ‘O.D.’, a minor student, revealed to the OIG Investigator that during the 2011-2012 school year Respondent along with another teacher, Ms. Brenda Muchnick, allowed him to use a study guide during his certification exam.

22. During the 2011-2012 school year ‘C.N.,’ ‘A.O.,’ ‘L.T.,’ and ‘R.P’, minor students, were enrolled in Ms. Muchnick’s Dreamweaver class. During the course of the year, Ms. Muchnick took the entire class to take the certification exam. According to both students, Ms. Muchnick, along with an unknown black male teacher, allowed the entire class to use a study guide and a questionnaire with highlighted answers during the certification exam. ‘C.N.’, ‘L.T.’ and ‘A.O.’ stated that the questionnaire was similar to the document discovered by Mr. Gant in the computer lab.

However, this is not the case, and Mrs. Muchnick went back to work at Norland SHS two weeks ago while I am still displaced from there, and the library media program has been shuttered in violation of state law, since October 24, 2013, given my role as the whistleblower in this affair.

The optics of this does not look good and one wonders about the outcomes being anti-labor and questions of race and religion:

How is it that the union member, Mr. Fleurantin, who is black (Haitian) and Christian, is up for termination and his union steward (me), white and Catholic, has been removed from the school three months ago, but Mrs. Muchnick, a non-union member who is white and Jewish, the same religious persuasion as the Chief Human Capital Officer (Enid Weisman) over the process and two influential School Board members (Vice-Chair Dr. Larry Feldman and Dr. Martin Karp), received an inconsequential 30 day suspension without pay (possibly will be made up with supplements to her and/or her husband) and goes back to work at Norland?

One does wonder, especially given that my meritorious Civil Rights Compliance complaint was dismissed and a bogus CRC complaint devoid of merit was processed against me but later dropped last October.

A fair-minded person may conclude that Mr. Fleurantin lacked background, connections, and money, thereby being unable to evade justice like Mrs. Muchnick, and received what was right and just; and I, though contrary to federal and state law, was wrongly moved from Norland not only because I upset the School District, but because I was a white steward who exposed a massive fraud in terms of cheating in conjunction with over $230,000 of awarded federal and state incentive funds to teachers in a predominately African-American school.

Who’s right: Putin gays are pedophiles or ABC’s “Bachelor” gays are perverted?

Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson during a GQ interview stated, “If you’re a homosexual, he’ll take it away. If you’re an adulterer, if you’re a liar, what’s the difference? If you break one sin, you may as well break them all. Why don’t we just love each other enough that we wouldn’t want to do these things to each other?” Phil continued, “I love all men and women. I am a lover of humanity, not a hater… I have been immoral, drunk, high. I ran with the wicked people for 28 years and I have run with the Jesus people since and the contrast is astounding.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin has a put forward his view of homosexuality. The Washington Post reported, “Russian President Vladimir Putin has offered new assurances to gay athletes and fans attending the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics next month. Yet he defended Russia’s anti-gay law by equating gays with pedophiles and said Russia needs to ‘cleanse’ itself of homosexuality if it wants to increase its birth rate… He said the law was aimed at banning propaganda of homosexuality and pedophilia, suggesting that gays are more likely to abuse children.”

Not all pedophiles are homosexual but all pederasts are homosexual notes Liberty University visiting Professor of Law Dr. Judith Reisman, who said that “post the ‘landmark’ Lawrence v. Texas decision in 2003, paraphrasing Justice Antonin Scalia, everything goes.” Professor Reisman said, “Following Alfred Kinsey ‘sexologists’ began to occupy our schools, so that educated professionals have largely been trained to be a form of sexual anarchists.”

“Although the stupidity of advocating harmless amoral sexuality overwhelms us daily, our arrogant ‘educated’ populations say morality has no place in our sexual lives,” Reisman said. “Just as AIDS is a natural outgrowth of amoral sexual education and media, so too is child sexual abuse. We are breeding a new human character and child sexual abuse is increasingly part of that character.”

Finally, Juan Pablo Galavis, ABC’s Bachelor star, stated, “There’s this thing about gay people — it seems to me, I don’t know if I’m mistaken or not — I have a lot of friends like that, but they’re more pervert in a sense. To me, the show would be too strong, too hard to watch on TV…”

I received an email from Steve Baldwin. He read a column about homosexual pederast Jimmy Savile abusing up to 1,000 victims on BBC premises and how executives turned a blind eye to attacks. Steve wrote, “I interned in Hollywood (in entertainment PR) during college and Hollywood is no different. Many of the big movers and shakers who create stars are pedophiles.  As a 17 year old I was constantly hit on by lots of powerful men.  Some of my fellow interns were raped. One committed suicide years later. If anyone wants to know how all the young stars eventually turn into addicts alcoholics. Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, etc.. well they are all fed drugs and sexually abused early on.  Everyone in Hollywood knows this but no one talks about it.  If you identify who they are, your career is over.  There are Jimmy Saviles are over Hollywood and many are powerful movie producers.”

So who is right? Actually, Phil Roberson, President Putin and Juan Pablo Galavis all are in a way.

An open public discussion about homosexuality is upon us. Time for everyone to learn more and have a reasonable debate on this sexual behavior. Not to do so is suppression of the truth.

More than 140 million girls over the next decade will be married before they turn 18

And what is to stop this from happening? It has broad sanction in Islam, as few things are more abundantly attested in Islamic law than the permissibility of child marriage. Islamic tradition records that Muhammad’s favorite wife, Aisha, was six when Muhammad wedded her and nine when he consummated the marriage:

“The Prophet wrote the (marriage contract) with Aisha while she was six years old and consummated his marriage with her while she was nine years old and she remained with him for nine years (i.e. till his death)” (Bukhari 7.62.88).

Another tradition has Aisha herself recount the scene:

The Prophet engaged me when I was a girl of six (years). We went to Medina and stayed at the home of Bani-al-Harith bin Khazraj. Then I got ill and my hair fell down. Later on my hair grew (again) and my mother, Um Ruman, came to me while I was playing in a swing with some of my girl friends. She called me, and I went to her, not knowing what she wanted to do to me. She caught me by the hand and made me stand at the door of the house. I was breathless then, and when my breathing became Allright, she took some water and rubbed my face and head with it. Then she took me into the house. There in the house I saw some Ansari women who said, “Best wishes and Allah’s Blessing and a good luck.” Then she entrusted me to them and they prepared me (for the marriage). Unexpectedly Allah’s Apostle came to me in the forenoon and my mother handed me over to him, and at that time I was a girl of nine years of age. (Bukhari 5.58.234).

Muhammad was at this time fifty-four years old.

Marrying young girls was not all that unusual for its time, but because in Islam Muhammad is the supreme example of conduct (cf. Qur’an 33:21), he is considered exemplary in this unto today. And so in April 2011, the Bangladesh Mufti Fazlul Haque Amini declared that those trying to pass a law banning child marriage in that country were putting Muhammad in a bad light: “Banning child marriage will cause challenging the marriage of the holy prophet of Islam… [putting] the moral character of the prophet into controversy and challenge.” He added a threat: “Islam permits child marriage and it will not be tolerated if any ruler will ever try to touch this issue in the name of giving more rights to women.” The Mufti said that 200,000 jihadists were ready to sacrifice their lives for any law restricting child marriage.

Likewise the influential website Islamonline.com in December 2010 justified child marriage by invoking not only Muhammad’s example, but the Qur’an as well:

The Noble Qur’an has also mentioned the waiting period [i.e. for a divorced wife to remarry] for the wife who has not yet menstruated, saying: “And those who no longer expect menstruation among your women—if you doubt, then their period is three months, and [also for] those who have not menstruated” [Qur’an 65:4]. Since this is not negated later, we can take from this verse that it is permissible to have sexual intercourse with a prepubescent girl. The Qur’an is not like the books of jurisprudence which mention what the implications of things are, even if they are prohibited. It is true that the prophet entered into a marriage contract with A’isha when she was six years old, however he did not have sex with her until she was nine years old, according to al-Bukhari.

Other countries make Muhammad’s example the basis of their laws regarding the legal marriageable age for girls. Article 1041 of the Civil Code of the Islamic Republic of Iran states that girls can be engaged before the age of nine, and married at nine: “Marriage before puberty (nine full lunar years for girls) is prohibited. Marriage contracted before reaching puberty with the permission of the guardian is valid provided that the interests of the ward are duly observed.”

Iran’s Ayatollah Khomeini himself married a ten-year-old girl when he was twenty-eight. Khomeini called marriage to a prepubescent girl “a divine blessing,” and advised the faithful to give their own daughters away accordingly: “Do your best to ensure that your daughters do not see their first blood in your house.” When he took power in Iran, he lowered the legal marriageable age of girls to nine, in accord with Muhammad’s example.

“Rights group: Law failing to protect child brides,” by Aya Batrawy for the Associated Press, January 19 (thanks to Kenneth):

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — Cultural traditions and a lack of legal protections are driving tens of millions of girls around the world into early marriage, subjecting them to violence, poverty and mistreatment, an international human rights group says.Equality Now, citing the United Nations Population Fund, said in a report issued over the weekend that more than 140 million girls over the next decade will be married before they turn 18.

“When a young girl is married and gives birth, the vicious cycle of poverty, poor health, curtailed education, violence, instability, disregard for rule of law … continues into the next generation, especially for any daughters she may have,” the report said.

The 32-page report found that despite laws that set a minimum age for marriage in many countries, social norms continue to provide a veneer of legitimacy to child marriage in remote villages and even in developed countries. Child marriage is defined as a marriage before age 18.

“Child marriage legitimizes human rights violations and abuses of girls under the guise of culture, honor, tradition and religion,” the report said.

The report gave examples of cases in countries such as Afghanistan, Cameroon, Guatemala, India, Jordan, Kenya, Malawi and Mali.

Often when child brides are married off to older men, it is to restore or maintain family honor, or to settle a father’s debts or obtain some other financial gain. A girl married off is seen as one less mouth to feed, and the wedding dowry is spent by her family to support itself.

Yemeni school students hold up posters denouncing child marriage, as they take part in a protest outside the parliament in Sanaa, Yemen, March 2010.

In some countries, families encourage early marriage to protect young girls from premarital sex and to uphold a family’s honor, according to the report.

In one case, a young girl named Mariam was born in France to parents from Mali. She had never been to Mali until her father sent her at age 14 and her sister at 16 to a village while they were on vacation from school.

When they arrived, their father took their passports, and Mariam was told to marry her father’s cousin. Her sister was to marry the local imam, or preacher. Mariam eventually escaped with the help of a policeman she met during a visit to the village market, but her sister remains in Mali, the report said.

Equality Now said it uses pseudonyms for girls for their safety.

In another case in Afghanistan, a 3-year-old girl’s father killed a man. To avoid prison, he handed his daughter over to the victim’s family, which regularly beat her and forced her to do household chores. At 10 she was raped by an older man in the family, and that same year she was married to a teenager from the family.

Her husband divorced her when she was 12, and she was forced to marry the uncle who had raped her. It was not until she managed to run away that police helped her find shelter with a women’s organization. The uncle was arrested and is serving a 13-year sentence for rape, Equality Now said.

Equality Now said child marriages often lead to young brides who are isolated and, because of their marital status, have little access to education and other services generally provided to children. In cases where a girl has the legal right to void her marriage, it is difficult to do so without knowledge of the law, education and financial support.

The U.N. population fund says rates of child marriage are highest in the West African nation of Niger, where 75 percent of girls are married before they turn 18, and a third are wed before age 15. Under Niger’s law, the minimum age for marriage is 15, but traditional customs often prevail in villages.

In Bangladesh, the rate of child marriage is 66 percent, and in Central African Republic and Chad it is 68 percent. In India, 47 percent of girls are married before they turn 18.

In the Middle East, Saudi Arabia and Yemen are the only Arab countries that do not have laws that set a minimum age for marriage. According to a December 2011 Human Rights Watch report, approximately 14 percent of girls in Yemen, the Arab world’s poorest nation, were married before age 15, and 52 percent were wed before they turned 18.

50 Ways to Celebrate Michelle Obama’s Birthday

Comrades, our beloved First Lady’s 50th birthday is today, or tomorrow, or some time this weekend. But whenever it is, we can make every day her birthday by doing the exact same stuff she does!

I present for your consideration the following link from ABC News:

50 Ways to Celebrate Michelle Obama’s Birthday

First Lady Michelle Obama turns 50 today, and although the big White House celebration planned by President Obama isn’t until Saturday, that doesn’t mean you have to wait to celebrate.

If your invite to Saturday’s dance party in Washington went missing, here are 50 other ways to honor the first lady on her big day — by doing some of her favorite things, from wearing stylish dresses to eating your veggies to doing the Dougie, preferably with Jimmy Fallon.

queen micheleYes, they include a list of 50 things you can do to get in touch with your inner Moochelle, from traveling the world on Air Force One to working out “yours arms.”

But we needn’t limit ourselves to 50. How many other ways can we honor the greatest First Lady to ever grace humanity by pretending to do what she does? I’ll even get things started:

1. Shop at Target and don’t worry about hackers stealing your credit info. After all, it’s not as if you’re spending your own hard-earned money.

2. When escaping the bubble to go incognito among the masses, never dress to blend in. Always wear the most outrageous get-up that will make you stand out like a big red zit on prom night. And always warn media outlets in advance of what you’re doing so they’ll respect your privacy by staying away.

3. Go sleeveless, even when most of the country is freezing, because you can jack up your thermostat as high as you want. Or just stay in Hawaii a few extra weeks.

4. Tell other people to eat their vegetables.

5. Have your staff plant a garden, then make them tend it. Never do it yourself unless the cameras are rolling.

6. Wear $450 shoes with sparkly pink toe caps while appearing for a photo-op at a homeless shelter.

7. Travel to military installations where you’ll tie up traffic and shut down most facilities to make speeches about how you really care about military families.

8. Empathize with the military wife whose husband is deployed to a war zone by talking about how tough you had it in your Chicago mansion with all those people to do things for you while your husband was in Springfield or Washington and only came home every weekend.

9. For the first time in your life, be proud of your country because they finally nominated a candidate based on his skin color instead his qualifications.

10. Tell someone else to give up their own piece of pie.

11. Sit between your husband and the Danish prime minister to stop them from flirting with each other.

12. Go on all those silly women’s talk shows to gab about all the things you dream of doing after you go back to being a private citizen in 2017—none of which seem any different from what you’re doing now.

13. Whine about what a huge sacrifice it is to be the most privileged woman in America.

14. Just keep on dancing…and partying…and shopping…and spending…and living it up on other people’s money!

This Black Man appreciates the Police Exposing Black Toddler Cursing Video

Liberal’s reaction to Omaha Nebraska police exposing the ignorant thug mindset behind the shocking video of a black toddler cursing is yet another example of liberals getting it all wrong; all about making themselves feel good – tolerant, superior and compassionate. Rather than severely condemning the child’s parents for abusing the toddler, liberals are ripping into the police; calling them racists.

The Omaha Police Officers’ Association is catching heck from the city’s police chief, the ACLU and at least one community leader. These liberals accuse the police of antagonizing the city’s large black community.

Insistent on viewing everything along racial lines, liberals fail to realize that the disturbing video is offensive to all decent Americans. One could call it a bit racist for liberals to assume Omaha blacks would be more offended by the police rather than black parents abusing their child.

A liberal media outlet actually accused the police of using the video to reinforce racial stereotypes that are unfair to the black community.

As a black person, I say to you liberals, “Stop it!” Your nauseating bigotry of low expectations does not help our cause. You are nothing more than enablers along with Sharpton, Jackson and the modern so-called civil rights advocacy community.

Clearly, declining moral standards and a lack of personal responsibility are devastating the black community; epidemic school dropouts, abortions, out-of-wedlock births, substance abuse, black-on-black crime and incarcerations. And yet, anyone daring to point out this huge elephant in black America’s living room, especially if they are white, is vilified.

Bitter, lazy, victim and entitlement mindset blacks are celebrated by liberals. Motivated, ambitious, self reliant and proud to be an American blacks are viewed suspect by liberals; traitors to their blackness.

I was appalled when CNN’s Piers Morgan and other liberals in the media condescendingly celebrated Rachel Jeantel, a witness in the Trayvon Martin trial. Morgan called Jeantel “one smart cookie”. Jeantel is a 19 year old black woman who is still in high school and admitted that she can not read cursive. Her first language is urban thug, using ignorant terms such as “Creepy a** cracka.” which liberals say should be respected as a cultural thing.

On an airplane, I overheard the conversation of a young black woman articulating her desire to attend law school. As a black person who has always refused to be forced inside the liberal’s box for acceptable black behavior, I suspect this ambitious black youth has had to endure accusations of her trying to be white; speaking English correctly, good grades and plans for law school.

The way liberals treat blacks in America is disgusting and humiliating. According to liberals, the destruction of the black family and every other issue plaguing the black community is the result of whitey’s insensitivity, apathy or conspiring against blacks. Ridiculous.

Rather than truly dealing with high drug abuse and crime rates in the black community, liberals whine about too many blacks going to jail. The liberal condescending producers at the Oxygen channel tried to give us a reality show titled, “All My Babies Mommas”; celebrating a serial impregnating black rapper with 11 babies by 10 black women. How low rent low expectations is that? The arrogant producers were shocked upon receiving push-back from the black community.

The video of the black toddler cursing was posted online by the perpetrator. And yet, liberals are having a cow because police exposed the shocking child abuse and alerted the public about the under-reported “thug cycle”. Why are liberals attacking the messenger? Answer: Publicizing bad behavior by blacks is politically incorrect.

Consequently, the knockout game and polar bear hunting (blacks punching out whites) goes under-reported by the mainstream liberal media.

With liberal enablers as our friends, we in the black community do not need enemies. For decades, these “friends”/advocates have told us we are inferior in need of lowered educational and moral standards and government intervention to succeed. Conservative blacks find liberal’s pandering and condescension repulsive and extremely offensive.

Thus, I tip my hat to the Omaha police for exposing the shameful black toddler cursing video.

Until liberals honestly address bad black behavior and begin holding them accountable, the decline of the black community will continue. True friends/advocates to not constantly seek to lower the bar, they inspire you to come up higher.

Benghazi: A Tale of Three Senators

In a time where courage is a precious commodity on Capitol Hill, a Democratic U.S. Senator has set an admirable example of statesmanship in stark contrast to two of her former colleagues.

Senator Diane Feinstein of California, the Chair of Senate Intelligence Committee has sounded the alarm over the escalating threat from Jihadist terrorism and released a report in the pursuit of the truth about the terrorist attack on U.S. diplomatic facilities in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11th, 2012.

Senator Feinstein’s words and deeds stand in stark contrast to those of former Senators Hillary Clinton and John Kerry, the former and current Obama administration Secretaries of State.

Senator Feinstein recently correctly defined our enemies as a “very fundamentalist jihadist Islamic community” – in a warning that terrorism is on the rise. During a December 1st interview on CNN’s State of the Union with Candy Crowley, Senator Feinstein noted,

I think there is a real displaced aggression in this very fundamentalist jihadist Islamic community. And that is, that the West is responsible for everything that goes wrong and that the only thing that’s going to solve this, is Islamic sharia law and the concept of the caliphate. And I see more groups, more fundamentalists, more jihadists, more determined to kill to get where they want to get. So, it’s not an isolated phenomenon. You see these groups spread a web of connections. And this includes North Africa, it includes the Middle East, it includes other areas as well.

It took great courage for Senator Feinstein to publicly identify the enemy and describe the basics of the doctrine that underpins their actions. She knew full well that her democratic base will be very uncomfortable with her bold truth about a problem that is devastating our country yet no one wants to identify including the president. Her words were like a breath of fresh air. Few Republicans, much less Democrats, on Capitol Hill have done as good a job of articulating the threat we face from Jihad.

Unfortunately, Feinstein’s former colleague, Secretary of State John Kerry, is not nearly as well informed as she is. He has uttered nothing to indicate that he has any grasp of the enemy threat doctrine and what makes our enemies “tick.”

In fact, just this week, Kerry parroted the long-discredited theory that terrorism is caused by poverty. In remarks delivered during a visit to the Vatican, Kerry proclaimed poverty to be the “root cause” of terrorism.

This isn’t the first time Kerry has regurgitated such nonsense. Speaking at the Global Counterterrorism Forum in the wake of the Jihadist terrorist attack on a shopping mall in Nairobi, Kenya, Kerry called for “providing more economic opportunities” for youth to prevent them from being recruited to terrorism.

Perhaps Kerry has forgotten that Osama Bin Laden was a multimillionaire who left a life of luxury in Saudi Arabia to wage global jihad? Or maybe he forgets that the current leader of Al Qaeda, Ayman al-Zawahiri, was no pauper either. He was a professor of surgery and practicing physician at one time in his native Egypt before he turned to jihad. Then there is current captive Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, who was well off enough to come to the United States to earn a degree in engineering from North Carolina A&T.

There is no actual evidence that poverty causes terrorism. Jihadist terrorism has its roots in the doctrine known as sharia. Jihadists have come to commit acts of terror from a variety of lifestyles, nationalities and socioeconomic backgrounds. There is no evidence to indicate that poverty is a prerequisite for Jihadist terrorism, despite what Kerry says.

In fact, Kerry’s statement shows a profound confusion and naïveté when it comes to the war with which we are faced. Fortunately, Senator Feinstein doesn’t have the same problem that Secretary Kerry has.

In fact, as Chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Senator Feinstein has just released a new, bipartisan report on the Jihadist terror attack on US diplomatic facilities in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11th, 2012, that goes a long way toward dispelling some of the myths surrounding that attack and assigning accountability for what went wrong.

Among the report’s findings:

  • The attack was NOT a spontaneous act of violence touched off by a protest in reaction to a video about the prophet Mohammed.
  • The U.S. government did not do enough to prevent the attack or protect the diplomatic facilities.
  • The Obama State Department had ample warning of a dangerous security situation in Benghazi but failed to take proper action to secure lives and property.
  • The Obama intelligence community issued statements after the attack that turned out to be wrong and then was slow in correcting those incorrect statements.

Feinstein’s committee’s candid, accurate report is quite different from the testimony before the Senate delivered by Senator Feinstein’s former colleague, then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, on January 23rd, 2013. Who can forget the shameful prevarications and doublespeak from Hillary Clinton that day?

But worst of all was this cynical and infamous passage:

With all due respect, the fact is we had four dead Americans. Was it because of a protest? Or was it because of guys out for a walk one night and decided they would go kill some Americans? What difference at this point does it make?

Congratulations to Senator Feinstein for identifying the mistakes for which Hillary Clinton was ultimately responsible and laying out the facts for the American people that Benghazi was PREVENTABLE, because to us, it DOES make a difference!

Women Voters This Year and Beyond

Men when in the company of other men have no hesitancy to admit they have no idea why women are so different in so many ways.

Well, viva the difference, but one does have to wonder why so many women of the present era feel no need for a man as a husband or father.

In May, the Census Bureau released a report noting that more than six out of ten women who gave birth in their early 20s were unmarried. “Overall,” a Washington Post article reported, “36 percent of all births in the United States were to unmarried mothers in 2011, the year that the census analyzed from answered in the American Community Survey.” Among whites, it was 29 percent. Among blacks, it was 68 percent.

For the second year in a row, according to the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 40.7% of the babies born in the United States were born to unmarried mothers. That is very bad news.

It is an enormous commitment when a man asks “Will you marry me?”, but are we in an era when the answer is “No, thanks” or “Why?”

This is happening when women in general still earn less than men, encounter more problems borrowing for a car or a mortgage, and, if the Internet match-up services ads are true, are still are looking for Mr. Right. Their problem often is that he has done a Google search and learned she would involve a big investment. Many men choose to remain single these days or as the divorce rate indicates, to opt out of marriage.

None of this has anything to do with the 2014 midterm elections or the ones in 2016…or does it?

Well, yes it does. In a recent Wall Street Journal article, columnist Gerald F. Seib said “The gender gap is alive and well in American politics. Indeed, it may be the defining characteristic of our political system as next year’s midterm elections beckon.”

“We are not talking here just about the well-established pattern in which women are more likely to vote Democratic and men Republican in presidential elections. That’s true, but it appears to be only the tip of a gender-gap iceberg.” And here’s where it gets scary for conservatives of both sexes, a Wall Street Journal/NBC poll found that 52% of men want Congress under Republican control “while just 38% of women feel that way.”

The poll reported that 49% of women say they approve of the job (Obama) is doing; just 37% of men approve. In either case, the numbers are too high because he has done the worst job of any President of the modern era or earlier.

Seib reported that “women are more likely to give the President high grades on leadership qualities, overall competence, and improving America’s image abroad.” This is so absurd it defies any explanation. “College-educated women, in short, emerge as a core Obama constituency.”

That might not be the case in 2014 because The Hill reports that, based on a Dec 23 CNN/ORC poll, support for Obamacare is dropping rapidly and “The drop in support indicated could be particularly troubling for the Obama administration because almost all of it came from women, whose opposition rose from 54% to 60% in a month.” The poll cited by Sieb indicates that Republican woman—more than 80%–dislike Obamacare.

The gender gap is well documented and in 2012 it was the largest in the history of Gallup’s polls—20 points—since the polls measuring it began in 1952.

One thing needs mentioning and that is the extraordinary Republican women. There’s Rep. Michelle Bachman, Sen. Susan Collins, and Gov. Jan Brewer, to name just a few in positions of political leadership and others like columnists Peggy Noonan. Michelle Malkin, and Ann Coulter. The list is much longer, but it tells me that the GOP is fortunate to have them.

Clearly, the Republican Party has to undertake a major effort to draw more women into the party and, right now, it is a divided party as the GOP establishment wage battle with the Tea Party Movement that challenges their control.

It must also strongly refute the Democratic Party’s lie that the GOP has “a war on women.” There is no such war.

The GOP, however, need not look to the League of Women Voters for any support. Despite its claim to be non-partisan, it has for decades tilted in favor of the Democratic Party and liberal policies. The League is pro-abortion, favors environmentalism, and a greater role for government in all aspects of the lives of women and men.

Who knows? The 2014 and 2016 elections may signal a shift in the liberal views of women voters. If so, that is bad news for the Democratic Party, but the Republican Party has to do a much better job of enlisting the support of American women.
