FAIR: General Kelly Strong Choice for DHS, appoint Kris Kobach for Immigration Enforcement Role

“General Kelly has spent his life defending our nation and fully understands the critical role border security plays in protecting the country from the threats of terrorism, uncontrolled illegal immigration, and drugs,” said FAIR President Dan Stein

WASHINGTON, D.C. /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) President Dan Stein hailed the selection of Retired General John Kelly as secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), noting that the appointment will bring some much needed expertise and unwavering commitment to securing the nation’s borders against terrorism and illegal immigration.

“General Kelly has spent his life defending our nation and fully understands the critical role border security plays in protecting the country from the threats of terrorism, uncontrolled illegal immigration, and drugs.  He will bring a renewed commitment to controlling our borders and ensuring the safety of the American homeland.”

Stein noted that under the Obama Administration, border security has been all but ignored, criminal aliens have been regularly released back onto the streets, and the men and women risking their lives working in immigration enforcement have been largely demoralized.

“General Kelly’s commitment to the nation’s security is without question, and his military expertise and experience fighting the influx of illegal drugs from Latin America gives him unique insight into the challenges faced by the nation’s immigration enforcement agents, as well as practical knowledge of border deterrents,” he said.

Stein also urged the consideration of Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach for a key position with the administration in immigration enforcement.  “Kris Kobach has decades of hands-on experience working both in the administration and with communities on the front-lines of illegal immigration,” said Stein.  “He’s an incredibly sharp constitutional lawyer who understands the law, and knows exactly what needs to be done to quickly regain control of the nation’s borders,” he said.

ABOUT FAIR

Founded in 1979, the Federation for American Immigration Reform is the country’s largest immigration reform group.  With over 500,000 members nationwide, FAIR fights for immigration policies that serve national interests, not special interests.  FAIR believes that immigration reform must enhance national security, improve the economy, protect jobs, preserve our environment, and establish a rule of law that is recognized and enforced.

SANCTUARY CAMPUSES: How the safety of students and faculty are compromised to achieve the leftist agenda

Two disturbing articles focusing on “Sanctuary college campuses,” serve as the predication for my article today.

On November 22, 2016 “The Atlantic” published, “The Push for Sanctuary Campuses Prompts More Questions Than Answers: It’s not clear how far colleges would or could go to stop the deportation of students.”

This article detailed how some “Sanctuary” colleges will not cooperate with immigration authorities.

Consider this excerpt from this article:

“Faculty at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, who would like to see the school become a sanctuary campus, met on Monday with administrators to “have a better sense of what their expectations are for a sanctuary campus,” said Joanne Berger-Sweeney, the school’s president. Her faculty expressed interest in the school declining to pass immigration information to federal authorities, and in establishing a network of alumni who are willing to offer pro bono legal help to undocumented students.”

On December 1, 2016 the website, “The College Fix” posted, “UC President Napolitano to campus cops: Don’t enforce federal immigration law.”

Here is are salient excerpts from this article:

Napolitano — who served as Secretary of Homeland Security under the Obama administration, charged with protecting the nation’s borders — put out a statement Wednesday that her office will “vigorously protect the privacy and civil rights of the undocumented members of the UC community and will direct its police departments not to undertake joint efforts with any government agencies to enforce federal immigration law.”

The announcement comes as students in the country illegally and their peer allies are distraught that there might be mass deportations of undocumented students under a Donald Trump presidency. Many student leaders have announced their schools are “sanctuary campuses.” Now campus leaders are essentially following suit.

According to Napolitano’s office, there are about 2,500 undocumented students enrolled across the 10-campus UC system.

“While we still do not know what policies and practices the incoming federal administration may adopt, given the many public pronouncements made during the presidential campaign and its aftermath, we felt it necessary to reaffirm that UC will act upon its deeply held conviction that all members of our community have the right to work, study, and live safely and without fear at all UC locations,” Napolitano stated.

The article went on to report:

With that, the University of California also issued its “Statement of Principles in Support of Undocumented Members of the UC Community,” outlining measures they will take to protect DACA students:

The University will continue to admit students consistent with its nondiscrimination policies so that undocumented students will be considered for admission under the same criteria as U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

It is important to consider Napolitano’s statement about all members of the community “living safely and without fear at all UC locations.

How safe are students and faculty members on campuses where illegal aliens are shielded from detection by federal authorities?

Napolitano stated that all members of the community have the right to work.  Illegal aliens, however, are forbidden, by law, from working in the United States.

When Napolitano was the Secretary of Homeland Security, she was in charge of the DHS agencies responsible for the enforcement and administer of the immigration laws yet she now equates immigration laws with discrimination.

The DHS was created in the wake of the terror attacks of September 11, 2001. The enforcement and administration of our immigration laws were moved from the Justice Department to the DHS because it was understood that border security and the enforcement of our nation’s immigration laws were matters of national security.

Our immigration laws are oblivious about race, religion or ethnicity but seek to prevent the entry or continued presence of foreign nationals (aliens) whose presence would pose a threat to national security or public health or public safety.

Title 8, United States Code, Section 1182 enumerates the categories of aliens who are to be excluded from entering the United States.  This includes aliens who suffer from dangerous communicable, diseases or extreme mental illness, are convicted felons, human rights violators, war criminals, terrorists and spies.

Aliens who enter the United States without inspection may have evaded that critical vetting process at ports of entry because they have criminal histories, may be fugitives or know that their names are listed on counter-terrorism watch-lists.

Some aliens who are subject to deportation (removal) were lawfully admitted into the United States but subsequently violated their terms of admission.  Some of these aliens are now subject to deportation because the have, since entry, have been convicted of committing felonies.

Janet Napolitano must certainly be aware of this yet she seeks to harbor illegal aliens who may well be criminals, fugitives or even terrorists on college campuses, including the campuses of the University of California she presides over.

The harboring and concealment of such illegal aliens is a felony under Title 8, United States Code §1324. (Bringing in and harboring certain aliens).

Yet the article noted that “The University will not cooperate with any federal effort to create a registry of individuals based on any protected characteristics such as religion, national origin, race or sexual orientation.”

Schools that admit foreign students are required to notify the DHS when foreign students fail to maintain their status as students.

On August 30 2016 the ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) website posted a news release, “ICE releases quarterly international student data” that reported that more than 1.1 million foreign students are currently enrolled in more than 8,000 schools and universities across the United States.

Thousands of foreign students have gone missing in the United States.  How many are being harbored today on “Sanctuary campuses?”

Consider that on September 2, 2014 ABC News reported, Lost in America: Visa Program Struggles to ‘Track Missing Foreign Students’.”

Here is how this report began:

The Department of Homeland Security has lost track of more than 6,000 foreign nationals who entered the United States on student visas, overstayed their welcome, and essentially vanished — exploiting a security gap that was supposed to be fixed after the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks.

“My greatest concern is that they could be doing anything,” said Peter Edge, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement official who oversees investigations into visa violators. “Some of them could be here to do us harm.”

Homeland Security officials disclosed the breadth of the student visa problem in response to ABC News questions submitted as part of an investigation into persistent complaints about the nation’s entry program for students.

ABC News found that immigration officials have struggled to keep track of the rapidly increasing numbers of foreign students coming to the U.S. — now in excess of one million each year. The immigration agency’s own figures show that 58,000 students overstayed their visas in the past year. Of those, 6,000 were referred to agents for follow-up because they were determined to be of heightened concern.

“They just disappear,” said Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla. “They get the visas and they disappear.”

Coburn said since the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks, 26 student visa holders have been arrested in the U.S. on terror-related charges.

Tightening up the student visa program was one of the major recommendations made by the 9/11 Commission, after it was determined that the hijacker who flew Flight 77 into the Pentagon, Hani Hanjour, had entered the U.S. on a student visa but never showed up for school.

The official report, “9/11 and  Terrorist TravelStaff Report of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States” focused specifically on terrorists entered the United States and ultimately embedded themselves as they went about their deadly preparations.

Page 47 of this report noted:

“Once terrorists had entered the United States, their next challenge was to find a way to remain here. Their primary method was immigration fraud. For example, Yousef and Ajaj concocted bogus political asylum stories when they arrived in the United States. Mahmoud Abouhalima, involved in both the World Trade Center and landmarks plots, received temporary residence under the Seasonal Agricultural Workers (SAW) program, after falsely claiming that he picked beans in Florida.” Mohammed Salameh, who rented the truck used in the bombing, overstayed his tourist visa. He then applied for permanent residency under the agricultural workers program, but was rejected. Eyad Mahmoud Ismail, who drove the van containing the bomb, took English-language classes at Wichita State University in Kansas on a student visa; after he dropped out, he remained in the United States out of status.

For starters, any school that declares itself to be a “Sanctuary” for illegal aliens should have its authority to issue the form I-20 to foreign students summarily revoked.

Foreign students must present that form (I-20) to the U.S. embassy or consulate in order to be issued a student visa so that they may be admitted into the United States to attend school.

Foreign student advisors at each and every school are responsible for notifying DHS about foreign students who fail to attend those schools for which they were granted visas.  Clearly “Sanctuary Schools” cannot be trusted to cooperate fully with the DHS and make proper notification to the DHS.

No I-20 Forms:  No Visas:  No Foreign Students.

Outrage: Obama White House tells WWII vets to get over ‘feeling embittered’ over Pearl Harbor

Yesterday, Josh Earnest, outgoing Obama White House spokesperson, had the effrontery at a press conference to accuse the few survivors and their generations of families and WWII vets  to get over their being  ‘embittered’ over the Japanese sneak attack that resulted in  2,117 dead and 960 missing and presumed dead  on the morning of Sunday, December 7, 1941.  Earnest apparently conveyed the President’s concern over gestures towards the visit by Japanese Premier Abe who will accompany Obama paying a visit to the Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii signifying “comfort” but no apologies on behalf of all Japanese citizens on the 75th commemoration. Abe is the first Japanese Prime Minister to make such a visit in memoriam to the victims of the Pearl Harbor attack. The President and Premier Abe will be holding their last summit before the President’s final term in office ends.

That dastardly attack is forever engraved in American history of WWII as “the day that will live in infamy” intoned by FDR at the rostrum of a joint session of Congress on Monday, December 8th when he declared War against the forces of Imperial Japan.

The toll at Pearl Harbor stood until the morning of 9/11 when 15 Saudi, Egyptian and Yemeni Islamikaze of Al Qaeda seized commercial air flights at Boston’s Logan Airport, Newark International Airport and Dulles International Airport in Virginia destroying the Twin Towers in lower Manhattan, taking out a section of the Pentagon and being overcome by the heroic passengers on board Flight 93 forcing it to crash in a field in southwestern Pennsylvania. The sneak attack of 9/11, what we and other’s have called the Pearl Harbor of the 21st Century  killed more than 2,996 injured 6,000 others.

There is something more productive that the Obama White could do in the remaining weeks of its second and final term in office. They could right a wrong done to the Pacific Fleet commander, Admiral Husband Kimmel and U.S. Army, Lt. General Walter Short. They were relieved of commands, demoted one star each, and falsely accused of incompetence that day. Reinstating their full ranks along with absolving them of unfounded accusations with apologies to their families and service colleagues is long overdue.

The story that emerged is one of slipshod communications by the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) and protection of the breaking of the Japanese Diplomatic and Naval codes by the US in the 1930’s. Monitoring of those reports revealed the Japanese Imperial government intent that upon the breakdown of oil boycott negotiations with the FDR Administration, Japan would declare war and unleash the attack.  The CNO archives revealed a memo on December 4, 1941 revealing their Japanese intent but the Pacific fleet command was belatedly alerted.  Earlier Admiral Kimmel had made repeated requests for long range reconnaissance aircraft that might have detected the fleet of six carriers approaching the Hawaiian Islands under radio silence. Then there was the confusion over radar signals that morning, given the simultaneous arrival of a squadron of B-17s from the West Coast. 353 torpedo, dive bombers and fighters swept in from the north of Oahu to unleash their attack and destruction at Hickham Field, Schofield Barracks and scuttling of the Pacific fleet inflicted grievous harm on sailors, soldiers, airmen, nurses and civilians.

Naval Marshal General Isoroku Yamamato graduate of the US Naval War College and Harvard University, who planned, assembled and executed  the surprise attack was famously quoted on January 9, 1942 saying:

“A military man can scarcely pride himself on having ‘smitten a sleeping enemy’; it is more a matter of shame, simply, for the one smitten. I would rather you made your appraisal after seeing what the enemy does, since it is certain that, angered and outraged, he will soon launch a determined counterattack.”

That successful counterattack came six months later in the Battle of Midway, when Naval intelligence, and a decision by Pacific Commander Admiral Nimitz, scored a major victory sinking four of the six carriers involved in the Pearl Harbor attack- the Akagi, Kaga, Soryu and Hiryu. Yamamoto was eventually targeted by Naval intelligence and his Japanese command aircraft and escort fighters were ambushed in Operation Vengeance by a USAAF squadron of P-38 “lightnings” on April 18, 1943, over Buin, Papua, New Guinea.

There are two engrossing PBS documentaries that will reprise on December 7, 2016, about battleships attacked 75 years ago on December 7, 1941.  One is a poignant story about the return of remains to the grandchildren for closure and interment of a young ensign who served on board the Oklahoma, a Naval Academy grad and communications officer, who perished that day.  The PBS documentary includes surviving eye witness testimony.

Watch: “Pearl Harbor USS Oklahoma Final Story.”

The second documentary is an amazing video of a visit paid to the Arizona by expert scuba divers and underwater video personnel from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Research Center in Massachusetts and US Park Service experts, watched by a survivor of the Arizona bombing who was horribly burned that day

Watch: “Into the Arizona.”

Thus, the Obama White House warning to Pearl Harbor survivors their generations of families and all WW II veterans falsely accused of “feeling embittered” deserve an apology.  In sharp contrast they recognize closure on their pain of loss from the visit of Japanese Premier Abe and his “comfort’ for the victims  on this 75th  commemoration of Pearl Harbor.

We aid and abet ISIS when we don’t tell the truth about Islam

Editor:  As you know from time to time we post reader comments that we think you might like, but might have missed. This is a comment from ‘7Delta’ in response to our post on how the OSU Somali slasher’s mother is scared (according to her lawyer) by Trump’s tweets.

‘7delta’ (emphasis added is mine):

Oh, for Pete’s sake. The jihadist’s family is traumatized by a tweet and the excuse for Wrong-Way Artan jack-knifing on campus is that he became “radicalized?” The old “the devil made me do it” radicalization defense…meaning, of course, that people who object to stealth jihad and hurt wittle Iswammic feewings are “recruiting” for ISIS. Okay, it’s the right motivational sentiment, but the wrong devil. Of course, according to our Mouths of Sauron, Wrong-Way’s actions can’t have anything to do with Islamic doctrine, now can it?

CNN News anchor Alisyn Camerota suggested last week that American women wear hijabs in solidarity with Moms like this Somali woman. Needless to say, it inspired a flood of responses, like this one, on Twitter:
screenshot-78

Sorry, that song and dance went out with the minuet. Knowing Islamic doctrine is in style and their own operator’s manuals blow their flimsy fears and excuses out of Wrong Way’s tail pipe. Mom and Dad, wherever he may be, just got a free ticket to paradise, along with 68 additional close relatives.Chances are Mom and her remaining six young’uns (and probably Dad) had a wedding feast (paid for by us) with their closest friends to celebrate. Passed out sweets to their neighbors too (also purchased on our dime.) She’s not afraid of anything other than her attempts to trick us into being compliant with Shariah blasphemy laws won’t work anymore, as are her fellow hizrahites. In that respect, her fears (and theirs) are well founded.

Still, there’s good news! The reported rapidly spreading ailment, Islamophobia, has been cured! It’s a miracle! Amazing… true…but it never even existed. Imagine that! What a relief. We can quit worrying about it, just in time for Christmas.

Nothing Trump, nor any other happy infidel has done, will do, or can do has any effect whatsoever on Islamic doctrine. We are irrelevant to what Islam believes. The Double Duds, Mohammed and Allah, “radicalized” her son, only they called it devout.

Does anybody with a few functioning brain cells really think ISIS or cultural jihadists would actually tell us that criticizing Islam or electing Trump will recruit for the jihadists, so we shouldn’t do it, if it really did? What? Do they have too many soldiers of Allah and need to cut back to slow down establishing their caliphate so nobody gets hurt? Booty just being spread too thin? The sex slave market is saturated? I don’t think so. Wrong-Way was a devout follower of the 2 D’s. Pretty simple and doesn’t even require more than a basic understanding of Islamic doctrine.

The only thing we do that aids and abets ISIS and the Double D’s is to not tell the truth. Islam is what it is.

No sympathy from my keyboard for Mama Wrong Way’s “fears.” I’m sorry her son felt the obligation to try to kill people and to die a martyr, but that’s an Islamic issue. Maybe she should ask her prophet for profit (he got 1/5 of the booty, ya know) and Allah’s Head what to do when their infidel targets can read and won’t cooperate? That is, if she can figure out how to say it in Arabic, since that’s the only language Allah speaks.

I mean, seriously. Whining and name calling is just not working anymore, not even with the help of female news anchors suggesting infidel women should comply with Shariah law and wear hijabs in solidarity with Muslim women when a jihadist decides to get martyred, as if that’ll make everything okay when their men beat them or they’re the victims of an honor killing, which is in accordance with Shariah law too, or when the Filthy Rich Lawless Center puts people telling the truth on their Dollars for Hate List, or when our suspiciously “ignorant” of Islam president keeps telling us jihad isn’t Islamic. What happened to good old fashioned lying working?

Dang those fake news sites that truthfully report on Islamic atrocities!

A curse of fleas upon the Internet for making the Qu’ran, Hadith and Sira available for the infidel’s reading pleasure.

Seriously, these whiny rote replies are severely lacking in creativity and are as old as Mohammed’s first camel. Nobody, except the bobble-headed, bleached blonde news anchors, their suck-up male counterparts and the few parrots still flapping their fake social justice feathers, believes it anymore. The liars issuing talking points to the blondies and bird brains know the truth. Islam is their tool. Islam, naturally, intends to take their heads. Tickets will be available soon, at a venue near you. Popcorn is welcome.

Okay, got that off my chest. I’ll take another dose of Mucinex just to be sure. Later.

VIDEO: Bill O’Reilly calls for one year moratorium on refugee resettlement

I happened to catch his talking points memo last night.

However, he didn’t have the story exactly accurate on Australia.  He praised that country for its tough stance on illegal migrants as if it’s always been that way. But for those interested in digging in to the facts there, see our category on Australia (184 posts going back 8 years) and see that their hardline stance is relatively recent and that the country foolishly admitted, for years, large numbers of Muslim migrants that are now pretty aggressive.

O’Reilly also mentioned the strange deal that the Obama Administration is advancing where we would take off Australia’s hands hundreds (at least) of Australia’s rejected asylum seekers (our coverage here) presently housed in off-shore detention facilities.

However, here is the part we liked best in O’Reilly’s statement.  Thanks to Media Matters for tracking this type of story more closely than some on our side do.

You can see 3 + minutes of the statement by O’Reilly by clicking here.  (I see they left out the Australia portion.) You may not like some of O’Reilly’s prescriptions for dealing with our illegal aliens living in the US.

Minnesota: The highest Somali Resettlement State in the Nation

Minnesota CAIR rally.

For those of you in cities and states contemplating whether to ‘welcome’ refugees, remember this:  Once you have set up a program, there is no stopping it. The federal government looks to see if your community has a particular ethnic group growing and you then will get more of them. (Obviously, even if you have had a terror attack as St. Cloud did!)

LOL! The feds want the refugees to be with their own folks, their own kind of people (never mind that that seems a bit racist to me!).

Minnesota CAIR director worried that the September Islamic terror attack could cause blowback against Somalis in St. Cloud. Not to be deterred, the Obama State Department and Lutheran Social Services are still pouring Somalis in to St. Cloud.

Since I was  having fun with numbers, see my previous post about how Somalis are being resettled at the fastest rate in US history, I thought I would have a look at where the 334 Somalis were resettled in Minnesota in the last 2 months.  So, here we go (Wrapsnet.org). Top two in bold letters.

Burnsville (3)
Chaska (1)
Fairbault (1) typo?
Faribault (29)
Inver Grove Heights (6)
Mankato (4)

North Mankato (2)

Rochester (15)
St. Cloud (57)
St. Joseph (1)
St. Paul (26)

Many Somalis find work in meatpacking plants (which are luring them to the state!). When I made my summer swing to visit many meatpacking/manufacturing towns overrun with refugees, I stopped at a rest stop near Rochester, MN and I was shocked to see Muslim women praying on the lawn of the rest stop in the middle of lovely farm country stretching from Wisconsin to Minnesota.  I said to myself, I guess I am in Minnesota and my East Coast neighbors would not believe this!

One more thing, this story floating around over the last few days says Minnesota will get 2,500 total refugees this year (we assume they are using the standard fiscal year as we do).   At the rate of Somalis we are reporting here, that means that just over 2,000 of the 2,500 would be Somali. (If Trump doesn’t step in on January 21 and cut off the flow from Islamic terror-linked countries.)

By the way, most of our Somali refugees come through Kenya so I hope Trump’s people aren’t blindsided by that! Somalis are Somalis wherever in the world we find them.

***Update*** I just remembered this post I wrote in 2015 when I looked back for ten years at all the towns in Minnesota seeded with Somalis, click here.

‘Bloody Friday’: Islamic State vows massacres on Trump’s Inauguration Day

If these happen, the establishment propaganda media will claim that Trump’s words “provoked” the Muslims to mass murder. Hillary Clinton made this claim during the campaign, and Van Jones just repeated it on CNN.

“EXCLUSIVE: ISIS declares WAR on Trump’s inauguration day calling it ‘BLOODY FRIDAY,’” by Siobhan McFadyen, Express, December 3, 2016:

ISLAMIC STATE is planning a ‘Bloody Friday’ assault on the SAME DAY as Donald Trump is inaugurated as US president, it can be revealed.

And the Islamic terror organisation is reported to have recruited a number of new English speaking operatives in recent months in a major bid to communicate messages ahead of the event.

US special forces will be on high alert when Mr Trump takes over as 45th President of the United States on Friday, January 20, 2017, in Washington, DC.

But security analysts have been following communications between members of the group who are planning large scale attacks on that day, it has been claimed.

According to reports ISIS has expanded production of special editions of official videos with English subtitles in recent weeks and with a view to reinforcing targets on US soil.

And their ISIS-linked Amaq Agency Telegram channels have resumed posting on social networks after they were went temporarily offline following a terror attack in the US last Monday….

Kellogg Foundation Funding Black Lives Matter

Aaron Klein from ValueBit News reports that the W.K. Kellogg Foundation gave nearly $1 million to the Black Lives Matter movement:

The W.K. Kellogg Foundation, which maintains strong financial ties to the Kellogg Company, has provided at least $930,000 in support of the controversial work of the Black Lives Matter organization.

The financing is listed on the Foundation’s website. It includes a June 1, 2016 grant to the International Development Exchange, which is in a contractual relationship with Black Lives Matter to process donations for the group.

The Associated Press reported the International Development Exchange, also known as IDEX, “has been acting as a mostly unseen financial arm of Black Lives Matter, with the ability to receive grants and tax-deductible donations on the group’s behalf.”

Kellogg has come under fire for selectively stopping advertising on news site s such as Breitbart because they are not aligned with the Kellogg Corporation’s values. Claire Atkinson from the New York Post notes:

Looks like Kellogg has a little Eggo on its face.

The cereal giant, whose products include Frosted Flakes, Corn Flakes and Eggo Waffles, found itself on the firing line on Thursday after the far-right news outlet Breitbart News launched a campaign calling for its readers to boycott the food maker.

As of Thursday evening, more than 150,000 had signed the Breitbart petition, the news site said.

Breitbart News, co-founded by Steve Bannon, chief strategist for President-elect Donald Trump, launched the broadside against the Battle Creek, Mich., company after Kellogg on Tuesday publicly stated it didn’t want its ads to appear on the controversial site.

Breitbart is not “aligned with our values as a company,” Kellogg said in a statement.

Sudan: The Cornerstone of the ‘Caliphate’ in Africa?

Just after the election of President-elect Donald Trump, Dr. Walid Phares, his principal advisor on Middle East Affairs, spoke before a group of American Sudanese Nuba émigrés in Washington, DC. Eric Reeves of Amnesty International wrote in a November 15, 2016 column in the Sudan Times about Phares’ statement. He speculated on what the Trump Administration might accomplish in the first 100 days to address the genocide by the corrupt Bashir regime:

He said America under the leadership of Donald Trump would not tolerate what he called abuses practiced by the Khartoum government against its own citizens. Furthermore, he added that there is no reason why the United States and its European allies should lift the economic sanctions on Bashir’s regime established in 1997 in light of the continued violations in Sudan. Moreover, Mr. Walid Phares indicated that they will work with the international community during the first hundred days to end the crisis in Darfur, Blue Nile and South Kordofan.

Mahmoud A. Suleiman wrote about the duplicity of President Bashir’s outreach to President – elect Trump, in another Sudan Times op-ed, “Bashir’s call for mutual cooperation with U.S. Trump:”

It is pathetic that Omar al-Bashir offered congratulations to the U.S. President-elect Donald Trump and looked forward to cooperate with the new US president. The NCP Génocidaire Omar Hassan Ahmed al- Bashir forgot or ignored the mere promise of achieving democracy for the people of Sudan. This style of political discourse is not surprising in the era of the unratified [27-year] ruling regime of the National Congress Party (NCP). The regime has decided during the so-called Wathba dialogue or National Dialogue Conference in Khartoum on October 10, 2016 that Omar al-Bashir will continue as President of Sudan until the year 2020 without being democratically elected by the disenfranchised.  There is no comparison between this and what happens in the United States of America. The comparison between what is followed democratically in the United States of America and the dictatorship in Sudan is neither fair nor appropriate.

[…]

President–elect Donald Trump confirmed during most of his campaign that he would declare the war on radical Islam. The peaceful way employed by President Barack Obama in his diplomatic relations with the radical Islamist duo Khartoum and Tehran and called the “Obama’s approach”, was exploited by the Sudanese regime and Iranian governments seems to have approached the end. Since the Islamic countries found in the Obama regime simply a break from the George W. Bush Presidency’s ultimatum that puts clear: “either with us or against us”. Thus, that honeymoon period might be approaching an end.

President Bashir wrote President-elect Trump as the “duly elected” President of the Islamist Republic Sudan. His faux election in 2011 was conducted in accordance with Sharia in that only Muslims in the Khartoum capital region could vote for him as President of the NCP regime.  African tribes elsewhere in the Sudan in Darfur, South Kordofan and the Blue Nile regions are not considered Muslims and therefore ineligible to vote. The NCP Khartoum central government propaganda is that these regions do not recognize the fraudulent election of President Bashir, which it contends is recognized as the ‘legitimate’ government, internationally.

The problem that the incoming Trump Administration faces is that President Bashir is mobilizing an enormous Jihad army poised to perpetrate the final destruction of resistance forces in both the Darfur and South Kordofan regions of the Sudan. The fighting season in the Sudan has begun. Bashir and his National Congress Party (NCP)-led government have already unleashed attacks on November 24, 2016 in the Nuba region of South Kordofan, a prelude to conquering the area. At the same time, he is facing civil unrest in the capital of Khartoum, where troops are preparing mass graves for the expected slaughter of protesters over the failure of his domestic economic policies. Opposition in Khartoum has called for a three-day strike, reported on November 27, 2016, protesting fuel shortages. The Bashir security forces have begun using tear gas against protesters with worse consequences to come.

His agenda is to cleanse these regions of African tribes for resettlement by the families of the Orwellian-named “Peace Force,” formerly the Janjaweed, composed of foreign mercenaries, and then to exploit precious metals resources in the Nuba Mountains and Jebel Amir gold mines in North Darfur. The Khartoum regime ‘ethnic cleansing’ of Darfurians in the Jebel Marra region was described in detail by Gen. Abdallah in our November 2016 New English Review interview with him, “Only Regime Change Can Stop Sudan’s Genocide.” What follows is a situation report (SITREP) on what is happening in the Sudan. The corrupt Islamist regime of indicted war criminal President Omar Bashir is seeking, with Arab countries financing and support, to create a massive Jihad army. He will soon launch a campaign to create by armed force a Caliphate across sub Sahara Africa ruled under Islamic Sharia law.

Mobilization of 150,000 Men to Complete Destruction of Darfur, Nuba and Establish Caliphate

The Sudan regime uses tribes and terrorist groups to fight proxy wars for the benefit of the National Congress Party (NCP) regime in Khartoum and Arab Coalition partners. In January 2016 the Khartoum government mobilized 9,000 men composed of Janjaweed militias, ISIS operatives, Lord Resistance Army fighters from Uganda, Boko Haram from Nigeria, and al Shabaab of Somalia, Mali Jihadists, and Sudanese armed forces. The combined force attacked Jebel Marra using chemical weapons. Since then the recruitment has not stopped as the regime continues to recruit people from Arab tribes and bring in foreign terrorists to fight beside the Sudanese government army. Over the 15-year-old Darfur crisis, the NCP regime mobilized Arab militia forces of 10,000 to 30,000 each year. However, the mobilization this time is different in terms of numbers, parties involved, and overall objectives.

The regime has changed the name of the Rapid Support Forces into Kuat al Salam (Peace Forces). The new recruitment is being done under that name. The reason for the name change was to eradicate the references to the Janjaweed and Rapid Support Forces that most people in Darfur and the international community knew were committing genocide, war crimes, and human right abuses. The name change amounts to Orwellian Islamic taqiyyah – religiously condoned dissimilitude – lying for Allah – to deceive people in order to join up for training, especially among non-Arab youths.

The regime’s strategy is to mobilize 150,000 men for the Darfur attack to eradicate the people of Darfur and overthrow the adjacent government of Chad. They maintain that all Zagawa are the same and even if they killed all Zagawa of Darfur (Sudan) and left those of Chad they have done nothing. The objective behind this massive mobilization of a veritable Jihad army of 150,000 men is to destroy the Zagawa and overthrow the governments of Chad, Niger, Mali, South Sudan, and the Central African Republic establishing a Caliphate in Sub Sahara Africa. There are an estimated 400,000 Zagawa African Muslim pastoralist people spread over Darfur in Western Sudan (145,000), Chad (271,000) and Libya (10,000). The name Zagawa is derived from the type of sheep raised by the ethnic group. They usually refer to themselves as the Beri people. The Tuareg Jihadist Ansar Dine group operating in the Azawad region in Northern Mali is tasked to take over Mali. Some factions of the SELEKA rebels commanded by people of Arab origin will be tasked to liberate the Central Africa Republic. The plan is that South Sudan will be liberated by Riek Machar and supported by the South Sudan Islamic Liberation Movement led by Ali Tamim Fartak. Fartak was a member of Muslim Brotherhood Organization and National Congress Party prior to South Sudan’s independence. There are also 8,000 militiamen currently grouped in D’ean, the Eastern Darfur region, prepared to attack south Sudan.

If that objective were attainable, it would change the map of Africa. The area from South Sudan to Mali would constitute an African Caliphate. The Khartoum regime is preparing to field this massive Jihad Army to fight and occupy this swath of sub-Sahara Africa to be administered under Islamic Sharia law.

Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar would provide funding and political guidance, while Sudan would organize the Jihad mercenary army, conduct training, and provide operational control. Training camps are located in the Azawad region of Mali, Libya and Darfur.

According to our sources Sudan has already mobilized 30,000 men in Darfur and recruited thousands of others in both Sudan and contiguous Chad. Khartoum has airdropped supplies of weapons such as AK-47s and RGPs for this basic force. They have already provided 2,500 Toyota Hi-lux pickup trucks that will be used for military operations. 500 additional Toyota vehicles are on the way.

In order for the Khartoum regime to achieve its recruitment goal, they openly recruited men for the “Peace Forces in Darfur.” They have also secretly recruited personnel in Chad and sent them to Sudan for training. They are exploiting the current financial crisis of the government of Chad. For months now people have not received their salaries and there is anger. People are protesting against the government. The Khartoum regime pays 30,000 SDG per person and a similar amount or more to middlemen.

In Chad the payment to recruits for the so-called Peace Force varies. It is based on the different status of an individual as between cadre and an ordinary recruit. For some cadres they pay a million CFA about $2,000 USD while others receive 500,000 CFA, which amounts to about $1,000 US dollars. Cadres that cannot travel directly to Sudan are sent to West African States of Niger, Senegal etc. and from there fly to Sudan. The operation is well coordinated with Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar governments, and is supported by political parties and private organizations in Chad.

There is one political party named Militants’ Party for Unity and Development (Parti des Militants pour l’Unité et Development). Khalil Ali Osman is the leader of the political party and he is the overall coordinator of these different groups of militias and terrorists operating in Darfur, the Azawad Region of Mali, and Libya. There is another member of the same political party in charge of foreign relations. He coordinates activities with Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait. There is also an organization called Defense and Development of Arabic Language in Chad working together with the above mentioned political party. They organize conferences and invite Arab governments and individuals from Gulf States to raise funds.

Our sources also said that they opened centers in different places in Darfur to teach French Language to their militia forces so that when they occupied Chad, Niger, and Mali they will not be having language problems.

About 5,000 Chadian rebels are currently completing their training with Libyan Islamic groups, possibly Fajir Libya, which the Sudan government supports. They are waiting for deployment. They moved this Chadian rebel force from Sudan to Libya between late July and August of 2016.

As of this report militias changed the name of Kutum, North Darfur to “Waha” and declared it a liberated area of Janjaweed, now renamed “Peace Force.”

As an example of the brutality of this “Peace Force,” there is a man called Dr. Abdallah who lives in Geinena, Western Darfur in charge of the Hakamas (women who sing war songs to encourage fighters). Reportedly, he has told the Janjaweed militias that no Hakamas will sing for anyone who did not kill one hundred people. Each militiaman must bring body parts for hundred people to allow Hakamas to sing for him.

Unleashing the attack on the Nuba Region

The Sudanese Government and militias have massed forces for an invasion of the Nuba Mountains in South Kordofan. There are upwards of 8 training camps in the area of Kordofan that have trained 15,000 international jihadists, about 2,000 trainees per camp. These mujahedeen are part of the invading force in Nuba. The majority of these mujahedeen are from Syria. Additional mujahedeen recruits are flooding into Sudan from the Middle East to join the proposed Caliphate to fight against the West. They believe they must cleanse the land of Abeed (black, indigenous, African) people. Abeed in Arabic means, “slave.” When these jihadists have graduated training they will join the battle in the Nuba Mountains in order to accomplish ethnic cleansing of the land. After training these mujahedeen they will join the heavily armed Sudanese government force in Kordofan in December 2016 and January 2017 when the full Kordofan cleansing operation is scheduled to begin.

Reports from Kadugli, Sudan, capitol city of Nuba Mountains indicate that the heavily armed militia now outnumbers the remaining citizens, approximately 500 people. Kadugli once hosted 300,000 inhabitants prior to the 2012 massacre by Sudan Armed Forces bombing raids. The current estimated population is approximately 94,000. The militia is there to build a factory to produce enough cyanide for Khartoum’s gold production needs from deposits in the Nuba Mountains. The current push that began on November 24, 2016 is directed at ethnically cleansing the Umm Derien area. (See area 3 on the Nuba battle map above.) The remaining people have protested and been threatened by the militia with death. The Khartoum regime will likely order the militia push to ‘neutralize’ the protesters.

The Governor of the Nuba area requested help from the outside world, but only regime change will stop this latest proposed massacre in 2016.

The Saudi Sudan Connections – Money for Switching Sides

One of the strategic aspects of this latest wave of ethnic cleansing in both the Darfur in Western Sudan and in the Nuba Mountains in South Kordofan is motivated by the exploitation of gold deposits. Further, we noted the backing of Saudi Arabia and Emeriti members of the Gulf Cooperation Council behind possible creation of a Caliphate in the Sahel region of Sub-Sahara Africa.

There are several developments arising from the sudden switch of Sudan, as the only Sunni country in the horn of Africa, to have been a long-standing ally of the Shi’ite Islamic Republic of Iran. Iran had assisted the Sudan in creating a munitions industry. Sudan had facilitated transshipment of Iranian weapons to other Sunni proxies, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad in Gaza. That prompted periodic Israeli air attacks on convoys transiting from Port Sudan across Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula, as well as interdiction of Iranian arms cargoes in the Red Sea.  Moreover, Sudan had been a major state supporter of terrorism providing training camps for Osama bin Laden. It had also previously supplied weapons for the Houthi insurgency in Yemen across the Bab al Mandab straits in the Red Sea.

Sudan faced onerous fiscal isolation caused by nearly 20 years of international sanctions, the loss of substantial oil revenues with the founding of the independent Republic of South Sudan and civil war there. Khartoum found itself in dire financial straits facing internal unrest and protests over its faltering economic policies. Military and security expenditures claimed fully 70 percent of Sudan’s dwindling budget. What to do?

The answer was to switch sides and opt for major Saudi financial support and investment in precious metals development both offshore in the Red Sea and on-shore in both North Darfur and the Nuba Mountains. That switch took place in 2014 when Sudan closed Iranian and Shia cultural centers in Khartoum. In 2015 the Bashir regime sent 6,000 troops with supporting aircraft to provide boots on the ground in the Saudi and GCC air campaign against the Iranian backed Houthi rebels. The Iran-supported Shi’ite Houthi had ousted the Yemeni government of Saudi ally, President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi. The Saudi Kingdom provided a $5 billion military aid package to Khartoum. Riyadh invested in the Atlantis II Red Sea bed mineral extraction project. It may produce a $20 billion profit for the Saudi Kingdom under its so-called modernization program aimed at reducing reliance of oil revenues. Riyadh further bolstered its financial support to both Djibouti and Somalia in the Horn of Africa.

Eleonora Ardemagni an international relations analyst of the Middle East, focused on Yemen and the GCC region, noted these developments in an April 2016 article published by The Arab Gulf States Institute in Washington, DC, “The Yemeni Factor in the Saudi Arabia Sudan Realignment.” She summarized the financial benefits to Khartoum from switching sides:

The Saudi-Sudanese realignment is based on a “money for proxies” informal pact: external financial-military aid from Riyadh to Khartoum in exchange for direct military commitment of Sudanese troops for overseas operations. Such military interdependence has also boosted economic ties and joint projects between Sudan and Saudi Arabia, as well as other Arab Gulf states. This includes Sudanese gold production and the exploitation of offshore mineral resources in the Red Sea, where Saudi Arabia and Sudan share a common area, the Atlantis II joint venture. In 2015, the Sudanese central bank received $1 billion from Saudi Arabia and, previously, $1.22 billion dollars from Qatar. Riyadh and Abu Dhabi hosted the Saudi-Sudanese and the UAE-Sudanese Investment Forum, respectively. On November 2015, Saudi Arabia committed $1.7 billion for the building of three dams in northern Sudan, to be constructed within five years, plus $500 million for water and electricity projects and the cultivation of agricultural land in eastern Sudan.

With the influx of billions in Saudi and GCC funds, Khartoum now has the financial underwriting for its “final solution” for Darfur and South Kordofan giving it a free hand to exploit their gold deposits. Perhaps the long sought gold production in these regions might back its faltering currency. Moreover, the profits from joint ventures with the Saudis would aid in launching its mercenary Jihad Army to create a Caliphate across most of the Sahel region of sub–Sahara Africa. It also may have the Saudi Kingdom’s support to intercede on its behalf to end the 20-year international sanctions regime. The Saudi and GCC backing may also effectively stifle the International Criminal Courts outstanding warrant for the arrest of Sudan’s President for war crimes in Darfur. That has already happened with South Africa’s refusal to arrest Bashir during a state visit and a recent announcement by the OAU that it is capable of trying dictatorial leaders of member countries for “crimes against humanity,” as in the case of the former Chadian despotic leader.

Conclusion

President Bashir and his NCP government members were hoping that Hillary Clinton was going to win the US Presidential election. If Clinton won, they believed that she would continue Obama’s policies that embraced the Khartoum regime. However, President-elect Donald Trump surprised them. So they are preparing to quickly finish their operation between now and first 100 days of the Trump Administration following his inauguration on January 21, 2017.

Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar are sources of financing terrorists that cause instability in Africa and the world. They are also the countries that currently cause instability in South Sudan, Mali, Niger, Chad, Nigeria, Cameroon, Libya, as well as the Sudan regions of Darfur, Kordofan, and Blue Nile. They pose a threat to international peace and security. Sudan’s regime is playing the role of late Libyan Leader Gaddafi who destabilized Chad for more than thirty years in an attempt to expand Arab territory in Sub-Sahara Africa. We urge the international community, especially United States and countries that are fighting the global war on terrorism, to take seriously this SITREP and deal with the Islamist Sudan of indicted war criminal President Omar Bashir.

Illegal Alien Children eating up Health and Human Service’s agency budgets

You’ve probably all seen this news about the Department of Health and Services scrambling to re-direct money from other areas of the agency budget to take care of the largest number of ‘children’ (ever!) entering the U.S. illegally.

train-map

Where the wall needs to be…

I’m posting this so that as we move ahead in the coming days with news on the budget for FY17 and the Continuing Resolution, you have some background understanding of the dilemma the refugee program is in during the waning days of the Obama Administration.  The ‘kids’ (who are NOT refugees) are gobbling up limited funds putting their needs in direct competition with the refugees entering the US from all over the world. (In addition to depriving US citizens of other needed programs.)

For new readers, the Office of Refugee Resettlement is an agency at HHS which has been given the duty of taking care of the illegal alien kids.

Here is Jessica Vaughan at the Center for Immigration Studies:

An average of 255 illegal alien youths were taken into the custody of the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) every day this month, according to the latest figures the agency provided to Congress. This is the largest number of illegal alien children ever in the care of the federal government. To pay for it, the agency says it will need an additional one or two billion dollars for the next year – above and beyond the $1.2 billion spent in 2016 and proposed for 2017 – depending on how many more arrive. For now, the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), where ORR resides, is diverting $167 million from other programs to cover the cost of services for these new illegal arrivals through December 9, when the current continuing resolution expires.

An email to congressional staff from Barbara Clark of the HHS legislative liaison office, dated November 28, 2016, stated:

Daily referrals of unaccompanied children averaged 247 over the last seven days, and 255 so far in November. For comparison, referrals averaged 185 per day in November of FY 2016 and 64 per day in November of FY 2015. As of November 27, 2016, the number of children in ORR care is approximately 11,200.

A separate email informed congressional offices of HHS Secretary Burwell’s intent to transfer money from other programs to ORR to pay for shelters, health care, schooling, recreation, and other services for the new illegal arrivals, who typically were brought to the border by smugglers paid by their parents, who often are living in the United States illegally.

Continue reading here and see which programs are being robbed to pay for the ‘kids.’

About the map: I was searching for a graph to show how many ‘kids’ (mostly Central American teenage boys, see here) had come in to the U.S. in the most recent years, but every graph I found only went to 2014. So what is up with that!  I figured the map would be a nice addition to the post instead.

By the way, this post is tagged ‘Unaccompanied minors’ because many years ago they were called that and that is how I first tagged the topic.

PODCAST: Trump’s Cabinet and the World He’s Inheriting from Obama

This week, Trump made two critically important picks for his Cabinet: James “Mad Dog” Mattis at Defense, and Steve Mnuchin at Treasury. In Mattis, the United States will have a highly decorated, recently retired four star Marine general heading the Pentagon. Although he will require an exemption from Congress to take office (rules stipulate that Defense Secretaries be out of active service for at least seven years), this brilliant warrior is uniquely qualified to rebuild the United States Armed Forces.

With Steve Mnuchin, Trump has selected one of the finest financial minds in the world today. Best luck to Mnuchin – he has a $20 trillion hole to plug. This banker/entrepreneur is has one of the toughest jobs in the history of finance. We wish him good fortune!

Trump makes history by taking a phone call from longtime ally, Taiwan

Trump’s call to Taiwan was magnificent. I never cottoned to Nixon throwing our great ally Taiwan under the bus at the command of communist China. It was wrong. This call is long overdue. Viva la Trump!

It’s a gorgeous move — and the left is frothing at the mouth, of course.

Trump Speaks With Taiwan’s Leader, an Affront to China

WASHINGTON — President-elect Donald J. Trump spoke by telephone with Taiwan’s president on Friday, a striking break with nearly four decades of diplomatic practice that could precipitate a major rift with China even before Mr. Trump takes office.

Mr. Trump’s office said he spoke with the Taiwanese president, Tsai Ing-wen, “who offered her congratulations.

He is believed to be the first president or president-elect who has spoken to a Taiwanese leader since 1979, when the United States severed diplomatic ties with Taiwan after its recognition of the People’s Republic of China.

In the statement, Mr. Trump’s office said the two leaders noted that “close economic, political, and security ties” exist between Taiwan and the United States. The statement also said Mr. Trump “congratulated President Tsai on becoming president of Taiwan earlier this year.”

The White House was not told about Mr. Trump’s call until after it happened, according to a senior administration official. The official spoke on ground rules of anonymity to discuss sensitive diplomatic relations.

But the potential fallout from the conversation was significant, the administration official said, noting that the Chinese government issued a bitter protest after the United States sold weapons to Taiwan as part of a well-established arms agreement.

Mr. Trump’s call with President Tsai is a far bigger provocation, though the Chinese government did not issue an immediate response. Beijing views Taiwan as a breakaway province and has adamantly opposed the attempts of any country to open official relations with it.

Tucker Carson vs. Muslim Professor on Islamophobia

Did Islamophobia cause the terror attack at Ohio State?

If that question seems as ridiculous to you, as it does to us, we have a video you need to see!

Fox News host Tucker Carlson, recently debated a Muslim Professor over the motivation for the recent Ohio State terrorist attack.

This conversation outlines perfectly, the discussion taking place in our increasingly divided America.

In one corner, we have those willing to speak the truth about the threat of radical Islam and in the other, we have those who not only deny the reality of the threat, but attempt to shame, and silence those who speak the truth.

To individuals like the Muslim Professor in this video, the reaction to an Islamic terrorist attack is not, “How can we do our best to prevent these horrific incidents from re-occurring?”

Rather, it is “What did we as Americans do to cause this hatred towards us?”

If these appeasers had it their way, our only defense to Islamic terrorism would be silence and submission.

More to it, that is exactly what our radical Islamic adversaries would prefer, for us to keep our lips sealed, and hands tied behind our backs.

We cannot allow ourselves to fall into this fatal trap of tolerance. Instead, we must continue to speak the truth, regardless of how uncomfortable it makes the politically correct appeasers.

Trump: ‘People are pouring in from the Middle East. We have no idea who they are…we’re going to stop that dead’

The question is simple: allow in more Muslim migrants, among whom will inevitably be an unknowable number of jihad terrorists, or stop that migration at the risk of being called “racist.” In reality, it is not a racial issue, it is a national security issue.

“Trump vows to ‘stop dead’ Mideast immigration: ‘We have no idea who they are,’” Times of Israel, December 2, 2016:

President-elect Donald Trump vowed to “keep America safe” by cracking down on immigration from the Middle East and favoring “stability” in foreign policy.

Speaking to a raucous audience of thousands of supporters in Cincinnati, Ohio at the start of what his staff have billed as a “Thank you” tour of the American Midwest, Trump seemed to double down on key campaign promises about Muslim immigration and a wall on the Mexican border.

“The job of the president is to keep America safe, and that will always be my highest priority,” Trump said.

“We will do everything in our power to keep the scourge of terrorism out of our country. People are pouring in from regions of the Middle East. We have no idea who they are, where they come from, what they’re thinking. And we’re going to stop that dead, cold, flat,” he said.

“People coming into the country have to have the potential to love us, not to hate us,” he said.

He added: “We will stop looking to topple regimes. Our goal is stability, not chaos, because we want to rebuild our country. It’s time.”

Trump also used the address to take a stance against hatreds: “We condemn bigotry and prejudice in all of its forms,” he said. “We denounce all of the hatred and we forcefully reject the language of exclusion and separation. We have no choice. We have to, and it’s better.”…

Keith Ellison: Israel controls U.S. foreign policy

Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN), whose ties to the Muslim Brotherhood are well known, has managed to climb the ranks of the Democratic Party and now seeks to be its leader, which is itself proof of the widening gap between those who value human rights and democratic freedoms and those who are willing to hand such values over to Islamic supremacists without a fight.

Ellison has “unfriendly” intentions toward the state of Israel, threatening (and promising, in essence) to reduce American friendship with Israel and enhance ties with neighboring Islamic states. He revealed these intentions some time ago at a fundraiser that was hosted by Esam Omeish, a past president of the Muslim American Society who had to resign from a Virginia state immigration panel when the Investigative Project busted him with a videotape that showed him “praising Palestinians for choosing the jihad way … to liberate your land.” Now it’s Ellison’s turn:

Ellison lashed out at what he sees as Israel’s disproportionate influence in American foreign policy. That will change, he promised, as more Muslims gained political influence:

“The United States foreign policy in the Middle East is governed by what is good or bad through a country of 7 million people. A region of 350 million all turns on a country of 7 million. Does that make sense? Is that logic? Right? When the Americans who trace their roots back to those 350 million get involved, everything changes. Can I say that again?”

keith-ellison-end-the-occupation-podium“IPT Exclusive: In Private Fundraiser, Ellison Blasted Israeli Influence Over U.S. Policy”, Steven Emerson, IPT News, November 29, 2016:

U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison’s announcement earlier this month that he wants to be the Democratic National Committee’s next chairman drew quick support from several key lawmakers, including Jewish senators Chuck Schumer and Bernie Sanders.

Ellison backers also have defended him against claims he may hold anti-Semitic views in addition to being anti-Israel. A column in Israel’s liberal daily Haaretz quotes two rabbis praising Ellison, D-Minn., as “the best of our constitutional democracy and the best of America” and “an extraordinary leader. Anyone who would associate him with any kind of hatred hasn’t met him and certainly hasn’t worked with him.”

A 2010 audio of Ellison speaking at a private fundraiser obtained by the Investigative Project on Terrorism calls such praise into question. In a fairly intimate setting, Ellison lashed out at what he sees as Israel’s disproportionate influence in American foreign policy.

The fundraiser for Ellison’s re-election campaign was hosted by Esam Omeish, a past president of the Muslim American Society (MAS) who was forced to resign from a Virginia state immigration panel in 2007 after an exclusive IPT videotape showed him praising Palestinians for choosing the “the jihad way … to liberate your land.” Omeish was a candidate for Virginia’s general assembly the previous year, and Ellison spoke at a fundraiser for that losing effort.

In his 2010 remarks, he described Omeish as “my beloved brother and I love you and you are the best and your family is so beautiful and again, you know, you put it out there. You ran. And I hope you run again.”

Also present at the fundraiser was Nihad Awad, a co-founder and executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), and a member of a Muslim Brotherhood-created Hamas support network in America known as the Palestine Committee.

Ellison’s comments about Israeli political influence do not appear to be a poor choice of words. A year earlier, as conflict raged between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, Ellison told Al Jazeera that “the people who have a strong sympathy for the Israeli position dominate the conversation. It is really not politically safe to say there have been two sides to this.”

A month later, Ellison told the BBC that outreach to Hamas was not feasible for a member of Congress – not because it is a terrorist organization with an anti-Semitic charter demanding Israel’s destruction – but because it is too politically risky.

“What I can tell you now is that the constellation of political forces in the United States at this moment would make a member of Congress who has reached out directly to Hamas spend all their time defending that decision and would not be able to deal with other critical issues that need to be focused on. So for example if I were to make a move like that I wouldn’t be able to focus my attention on the humanitarian issue. I’d have to defend myself to my colleagues why I reached out to a terrorist organization. It would absorb all of my time. I would spend a lot of time fighting off personal attack and would not be able to achieve goals that I have.”

Just after the 2009 Gaza war, Ellison was among 22 House members to vote “present” rather than take a stand on a nonbinding House resolution “recognizing Israel’s right to defend itself against attacks from Gaza, reaffirming the United States’ strong support for Israel, and supporting the Israeli-Palestinian peace process. Ellison claimed he was “torn” on the issue because it “barely mentions the human suffering of the Palestinians in Gaza.”

Ellison long has demanded that Israel open its borders to Gaza, arguing that economic aid and development would help ease tensions and resulting violence. In 2010, he authored a letter signed by 53 House colleagues which called on President Obama to pressure Israel into opening the border.

Ellison described the blockade as “collective punishment” on Gaza residents.

He re-upped the argument in a 2014 Washington Post oped which was written during new conflict between Israel and Hamas. Hamas terrorists provoked the war by kidnapping and murdering three teenagers and by launching thousands of rockets at Israeli civilian areas.

But Ellison argued that peace would come with economic relief in Gaza and said an end to the blockade should be part of any ceasefire.

“The status quo for ordinary Gazans is a continuation of no jobs and no freedom,” he wrote. “This is not an attractive future. Gazans want and deserve the dignity of economic opportunity and freedom to move.”

The restrictions on imports to Gaza were aimed at curbing the flow of materials sent to Hamas to build rockets, bombs and other tools for terrorism. Israel allows humanitarian aid into the territory. But Hamas continues to divert millions of dollars in aid and supplies which could be used to improve daily life in order to dig more attack tunnels and restock its terrorist arsenal.

While he also said that “Hamas must give up its rockets and other weapons” to achieve peace, Ellison was one of only eight House members to vote against increasing funding for Israel to provide added funding for Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense program. Even though it successfully intercepted dozens of Hamas rockets, especially those aimed at population centers, Ellison said the proposal was no good because “the US government needs to be prioritizing a ceasefire between the two sides.”

These statements and countless others should concern DNC officials before choosing a leader early next year. Any chairperson’s job will include efforts to preserve and maintain the party’s support from American Jews. Exit polling indicates an estimated 71 percent of Jewish voters supported Hillary Clinton’s candidacy.

Jewish leaders either don’t know the extent of Ellison’s relationship with Islamist groups like CAIR, or of his consistent criticism of Israeli actions, especially in response to Hamas terror, or they do not care. Jonathan Greenblatt, the Anti-Defamation League’s chief executive, issued a statement last week saying Ellison “is a man of good character” and “an important ally in the fight against anti-Semitism and for civil rights.”

As we have shown, he’s also a man who believes Jewish interests disproportionately influence American foreign policy.

During last summer’s national convention, Ellison and other delegates supporting Sanders wanted the Democratic Party platform to delete a description of Jerusalem as Israel’s “undivided capital” and wanted to gut language opposing the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement targeting the Jewish state.

Those efforts were pushed back, but should have a far stronger position under an Ellison-run DNC.

In addition to seeing Israel as controlling government policy, Ellison has supported prominent Islamists targeted for their direct support for Palestinian terrorist organizations.

During a 2008 radio interview, Ellison praised Sami Al-Arian. Years earlier, evidence admitted into a federal court showed Al-Arian served on the Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s Shura council, in essence, its board of directors. Despite that fact, Ellison said he wished “that Dr. Al-Arian and his family have peace, have justice, and are able to secure a greater quality of justice for their case,” saying he found “some things about his case that I think raise legitimate questions.”

Similarly, Ellison expressed frustration at the 2007 terrorist financing trial of the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development and five former officials. The charity, shut down by the U.S. Treasury Department in 2001, funneled millions of dollars to Hamas through a network of Palestinian charities the terrorist group controlled.

But after a trial ended with a hung jury on most counts, Ellison blasted the case as “persecution” during remarks at a CAIR fundraising banquet in Anaheim. CAIR was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the case, in part due to internal Palestine Committee documents showing CAIR was part of the Muslim Brotherhood’s U.S. network from the moment of its 1994 inception.

“And the worst of it was not that these people’s lives were disrupted, their reputations were tarnished,” Ellison said. “The worst of it was that [300] other organizations were tossed in to the mix of it all as they were listed as unindicted co-conspirators. No evidence to be found that they had done anything. So here is what we have today. 300 reputable civil rights organizations, including CAIR, put on a list they never should have been put on in a case where they had been thoroughly exonerated. It’s time to call an end to wasting taxpayer money in this manner. There have been other prosecutions for Muslim charities and we’ve come up with nothing at all when it comes to convictions in these cases. It’s time for us to call a stop to this selective prosecution. It’s time to say that our justice system and our prosecutors and our police officers are here to investigate crime for the sake of public safety, not to pursue a political agenda.”

The Holy Land defendants were retried in 2008, with jurors convicting the defendants on all counts. Ellison did not comment.

In 2009, Ellison made the pilgrimage to Mecca known as the Hajj. His travels were financed by the Muslim American Society (MAS), which insiders have acknowledged is the Muslim Brotherhood’s overt arm in the United States….
