Ken Paxton Claims ‘Secret’ Texas Court Threw Out Nearly 1,000 Cases of Voter Fraud

By: Sarah Arnold | Town Hall, September 22, 2023:

Fresh off of an impeachment vote that found him innocent of corruption charges, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton made a startling revelation regarding the state’s local courts and voter fraud cases.

During an interview with Tucker Carlson, Paxton explained how a local court threw out nearly 1,000 cases of voter fraud that his office was prosecuting.

Paxton said it didn’t make sense for the state’s Court of Criminal Appeals to dismiss over 900 cases of voter fraud and deny him the right to prosecute criminal matters.

“We were fully busy prosecuting voter fraud, and suddenly the Court of Criminal Appeals – all Republicans – said nope, it’s unconstitutional for the attorney general to be in court because these are the executive branch. That was their reasoning,” Paxton said. “They said that was a ‘judicial’ function, so I could no longer be in court.”

The Republican told Carlson that his office prosecuted more than enough cases to prove voter fraud. However, Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan blocked them all.

Paxton then criticized the Texas voting system, which supports mail-in ballots and not requiring people to provide an ID as other forms of voting do.

“When you change it to mailing it out to everybody … We have no idea who’s voting … That’s the system that they like because we can’t prove voter fraud if we set up a system that’s completely open,” Paxton added.

The attorney general claimed Republicans on the Court of Criminal Appeals are attempting to set him up for defeat, allowing voter fraud to happen right before their eyes.

Chief of Staff of the Pentagon’s Counterterrorism Office Served Iranian Government

Senior adviser worked on secret Iranian government propaganda campaign.

In 2016, Ariane Tabatabai co-wrote an article arguing that the United States should ally with Iran against ISIS. The Iranian immigrant suggested the United States Air Force could “provide air cover for Iranian-backed militia” and “the US and Iran can share intelligence on targets”. Finally she warned that “excluding Iran, the region’s major Shia state, from the international coalition built to fight ISIS worsens the regional sectarian conflict, ultimately playing into ISIS’ hands.”

Tabatabai’s bio now describes her as the Chief of Staff to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations and Low Intensity Conflict. Up from a Senior Advisor last year. The ASD(SO/LIC) office advises the Secretary of Defense on counterterrorism and it’s hard to think of a better place for a woman accused of being an Iran regime apologist to find herself in.

Almost as good as her former role representing the United States in the Iran negotiations.

In 2021, when the State Department had brought in Tabatabai as a senior adviser to the Office of the Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security, a congressional letter urged that her security clearance be pulled. The letter stated that Tabatabai “has echoed Iranian regime talking points and has made excuses for Iran’s oppressive government.

“Why would we hire someone… who has access and security clearance to some of the most sensitive and important issues there [and] who obviously has had a relationship with the administration in Iran?” Rep. Van Drew asked.

Biden’s State Department Spokesman Ned Price claimed that she “was thoroughly vetted and investigated before being granted the position. Any suggestion of security-related concerns about Dr. Tabatabai are baseless and illegitimate.” He fumed that, “we will not sit idly by as our employees—dedicated public servants—face personal smears and slander.”

Now a Semafor article by former Wall Street Journal chief correspondent Jay Solomon based on materials gathered by Iran International’s dissident media channel has revealed emails showing Tabatabai’s participation in a secret Iranian government to influence the United States.

In 2014, a year before Tabatabai began working as a NATO consultant, she joined an initiative by the Iranian Foreign Ministry to mobilize “Iranians who have established affiliations with the leading international think-tanks and academic institutions, mainly in Europe and the US.”

Tabatabai, along with Dina Esfandiary, her co-author on the proposal to have the United States ally with Iran, who is currently a senior Middle East advisor to George Soros’ Crisis Group, allegedly became members of the “core group” of Iran’s influence operation.

Before Tabatabai testified about the Iran Deal in Congress, she allegedly checked in with the head of an Iranian Foreign Ministry think tank. “I am scheduled to go to the Congress to give a talk about the nuclear program. I will bother you in the coming days,” she wrote.

In 2015, while Tabatabai was consulting for NATO, serving as a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard Kennedy’s Atom/International Security Program and teaching at Georgetown University, the Iranian government was bragging about her propaganda. Emails containing her articles were circulated from the Iranian Foreign Ministry operation all the way to Foreign Minister Javad Zarif.

Ariane Tabatabai personally forwarded her propaganda articles, including one claiming that Iran really needs nuclear energy and doesn’t intend to use it as a weapon.

In one leaked message, Tabatabai emailed her handler her article, co-written again with Esfandiary, titled, “Meeting Iran’s nuclear fuel supply needs”. “Our goal was to show what is said in the West – that Iran does not need more than 1500 centrifuges – is wrong, and that Iran should not be expected to reduce the number of its centrifuges,” she allegedly told her handler.

Her handler then forwarded the email to Iran’s Foreign Minister Zarif.

Before the Biden administration brought Tabatabai on board to negotiate with the Iranians, she was actually providing propaganda to bolster the nuclear arguments of Iran’s negotiators.

It’s unknown when Ariane Tabatabai stopped working with Iran’s government. Or if she ever did. The exact degree of entanglement is unclear, but Tabatabai asked for permission from her handlers before visiting or meeting foreigners which implies that she was working for Iran.

When Saudi Prince Turki al Faisal proposed having her visit Saudi Arabia, Tabatabai emailed her handler asking, “I would like to know your opinion; would you be interested in this?”

This is the language of an agent acting on behalf of an enemy nation and raises legal questions.

In 2018, she became a senior fellow at the liberal Center for a New American Security whose members typically staff incoming Democrat administrations. That same year she also joined RAND which acts as the think tank for the military. At that point it was virtually certain that the next Democrat administration would bring her into the State Department and on defense issues.

In 2021, Robert Malley, Biden’s Iran special envoy, currently under investigation for mishandling classified documents, who had turned over the negotiations to Iran lobbyists, brought Tabatabai into the negotiating team where she spent over a year before leaving over an undisclosed issue.

There were multiple red flags about her even before the release of the emails.

Iranian dissidents had repeatedly warned about her ties to the regime. And even her own article on Iran’s “counterterrorism” in which she claims that Iran is actually fighting against terrorists, draws on “several years of fieldwork in Iran, interviews with current and former officials”.

But the Biden administration chose to ignore those warnings and it has refused to address the emails, replying that it won’t comment on “purported leaked Iranian government documents.”

Even in the face of serious evidence that the State Department and the Department of Defense are employing an enemy government agent, the Biden administration is not backing down.

The speed with which Tabatabai, who had been living in Iran during the Ahmadinejad 2009 election, has been able to fully penetrate the highest echelons of our national defense in a little over a decade is a testament to the national security collapse within a disloyal bureaucracy.

Under the Obama administration allegiance to the Iran Deal came to matter more than allegiance to the United States. Anyone willing to argue, as Tabatabai was, that Iran was eager to make a deal and could be trusted to keep to its terms had a smooth glide path into the liberal defense establishment that was busy sidelining the ‘hawks’ skeptical of Iran’s intentions.

Churning out articles like “Why Regime Change in Iran Wouldn’t Work” and “Don’t Fear the Hard-Liners” didn’t make Ariane Tabatabai look like an Iranian government propagandist, but like an Obama administration propagandist. Even while the Obama administration was covertly investigating its political opponents for ties to Israel and Russia, it had so thoroughly blurred the lines that Iranian propagandists couldn’t be told apart from administration figures.

Under Biden, who was backed by Iran lobby figures and benefited from an Iranian hacking campaign, the two groups have blended together so much that they are indistinguishable.

Robert Malley was the prototype of figures like Ariane Tabatabai and others who are not merely anti-American in the traditional leftist fashion, but appear to have outright foreign allegiances. The Left, like most extremist movements, is no longer capable of making such distinctions. And neither is a government whose foreign policy ranks are being populated by Iran Deal advocates.

Tabatabai’s elevation to Chief of Staff to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations and Low Intensity Conflict show how deep the rot is in the Department of Defense. The DOD, entrusted with defending the nation, has allowed itself to be suborned into ignoring national security and its allegiances in order to do the bidding of the Biden administration.

Not just politics, but the most fundamental kind of national security, requires urgently cleaning house in the Pentagon. It’s either that or hand over control over our government to our enemies.

‘Simple Econ 101’: Here’s How California’s E-Truck Push Could Hamstring The American Economy

  • California’s push to electrify the heavy-duty trucking fleet in the state is likely to hurt independent trucking operators and drive up costs for goods across the entire American economy, experts on California policy and the trucking industry told the Daily Caller News Foundation.
  • California will ban the sale of new diesel-powered heavy-duty trucks starting in 2036, and trucking companies that move products between state’s ports and distribution hubs will not be allowed to register new diesel trucks with the state starting in 2024, according to the California Air Resources Board (CARB).
  • The state’s policies will require more trucks “to haul the same amount of freight” and “have a real impact on the supply chain and the cost and reliability of transportation for the goods that consumers depend on every day,” Jeremy Kirkpatrick, a spokesperson for the American Trucking Association, told the DCNF.

California’s push to transition diesel trucks to electric models in the coming years is likely to damage the state’s trucking industry as well as the larger American economy, experts on California policy and the trucking industry told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

California law will ban the sale of new diesel-powered heavy-duty trucks in the state starting in 2036, and trucking companies that move products between the state’s ports and distribution hubs will not be allowed to register new diesel trucks starting in 2024, according to the California Air Resources Board (CARB). The policies could drive up costs for operators and consumers, an outcome that would hurt the overall U.S. economy, given that California’s 12 ports handle approximately 40% of all imported containers to the U.S. and 30% of all of its shipping container exports, according to the California Legislative Analyst’s Office.

“There are serious issues with range and charge times, operability in cold weather environments and reduced payloads because of the battery weight,” Jeremy Kirkpatrick, a spokesperson for the American Trucking Association, told the DCNF. “That means more trucks will be needed to haul the same amount of freight. All of this will have a real impact on the supply chain and the cost and reliability of transportation for the goods that consumers depend on every day.”

The state’s policies effectively mandate that nearly all of the state’s freight hauling, package delivery and box trucks would be zero-emission vehicles by no later than 2045, according to the office of Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom. Without incentives, electric trucks are nearly three times more expensive up front than a diesel powered rig, according to the Environmental and Energy Study Institute.

The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), President Joe Biden’s signature climate bill, provides incentives that can cover about $40,000 of the overall cost of electric trucks, which have an average cost of about $400,000, according to the International Council on Clean Transportation.

“Electric trucks in particular have limited range based on numerous factors (weight, outside air temperature, etc.), and many cannot operate much over 250 miles before needing to be recharged (diesels can operate well over 1,000 miles depending on fuel tank size),” Joe Rajkovacz, director of governmental affairs and communications for the Western States Trucking Association, told the DCNF. “The recharging times (supposing there are sufficient charging points), can take hours, not minutes as with diesel. This takes away significantly from the hours of service drivers are allowed daily under both state and federal regulations.”

“As trucks time out, many will not be replaced, reducing the required number of available trucks to California ports and rail yards,” Rajkovacz continued. “It is simple Econ 101; when a shortage hits, prices go up.”

California’s policies on truck emissions are the strictest in the nation and are oriented around the state’s goal to achieve an overall emissions reduction of 85% by 2045, according to Newsom’s office.

“These vehicles are far more expensive and cost-prohibitive for most truckers,” Kirkpatrick told the DCNF. He added that “96% of trucking companies in this country are small businesses operating ten trucks or fewer. The charging infrastructure is nowhere near in place, and even if it was, there’s not electricity on the grid to power the fleet.”

There were less than 700 electric truck chargers across the entire state as of July, and the state estimates that more than 150,000 new chargers will be required in order to power the fleet of the future, according to The Wall Street Journal. California’s grid already struggles to comfortably meet periods of peak demand, as the state’s grid operator issued “Flex Alerts” over a 10-day period in September 2022 urging residents to turn up their thermostats during the late afternoon and evening hours to conserve energy amid a heatwave.

The potential problems of an electrified trucking fleet will not be exclusive to California, as eight other states have opted into at least some of California’s rules for truck emissions. Those states are Oregon, Washington, Colorado, New Jersey, New York, Maryland, Massachusetts and Vermont, according to CARB.

“There are new technologies coming fast and mandating pure electric vehicles closes off innovation and creates obsolete trucks within a few years,” Edward Ring, senior fellow for the California Policy Center. told the DCNF. “Meanwhile, our entire fleet gets sidelined and countless independent truckers are wiped out.”

‘Playing Spoiler’: Multiple Third-Party Candidates Could Spell Bad News For Biden In 2024

  • Multiple third-party candidates could sway the 2024 presidential election in key battleground states if there’s a rematch between former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden, political observers and polling analysts told the Daily Caller News Foundation.
  • Green Party candidate Cornel West, a Libertarian Party candidate, a No Labels candidate and likely Robert F. Kennedy Jr. could all be on the ballot in 2024, which could siphon off more support from Biden than Trump, polling analysts and political strategists told the DCNF.
  • “I can imagine a world in which we have two, three, four legitimate third parties, and unlike usual, all in they’ll get 1%, 2%, they might get 5% or 6% — and that, without a doubt, is going to be the most important element of this election,” Mike McKenna, GOP consultant and president of MWR Strategies, told the DCNF.

With another close presidential election expected in 2024, third parties are likely to impact the general election in key battleground states if there’s a rematch between former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden, polling analysts and political observers told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Multiple third-party candidates could be on the ballot in 2024, including a Green Party candidate, a No Labels candidate, a Libertarian Party candidate and likely Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as an independent. Several polling analysts and political strategists believe that the additional third-party candidates will likely siphon off more support from Biden, which could allow Trump to return to the White House in 2024, they told the DCNF.

“If there is a rematch between Biden and Trump, there are going to be a significant number of voters who hold negative views of both candidates, given that both have favorability numbers only around 40% and unfavourability over 50%. Those are conditions ripe for heightened third-party voting,” Kyle Kondik, nonpartisan polling analyst and managing editor for Sabato’s Crystal Ball at the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics, told the DCNF. “I wouldn’t expect the third-party vote to be all that large, but the margins in key states are likely to be so small that the third-party candidates could end up playing spoiler.”

Cornel West is running for the Green Party nomination, many are running for the Libertarian Party nomination and centrist organization No Labels is considering running a third-party ticket in 2024, with West Virginia Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin often mentioned as a potential contender. Kennedy, who is currently seeking the Democratic Party nomination, is expected to switch his party affiliation to run as an independent in Philadelphia on Oct. 9.

Many attribute Hillary Clinton’s defeat in 2016 to Green Party candidate Jill Stein, arguing if Stein’s votes went to Clinton, Trump wouldn’t have won. Some have signaled a similar phenomenon is likely to play out in 2024, but at a larger scale with the potential for more third-party candidates on the ballot, they told the DCNF.

“Jill Stein did win enough votes to tip Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania to President Trump…third parties have a long history of spoiling,” Bruce Mehlman, political analyst and founder of Mehlman Consulting, told the DCNF. “The calculus by most observers appears to be that while Joe Biden has a slightly higher ceiling than Donald Trump, he also has a lower floor than Donald Trump. And the fear among Democrats is that a third party will take more voters from Biden than they will take from Trump.”

Mike McKenna, GOP consultant and president of MWR Strategies, echoed Mehlman’s sentiment, and told the DCNF the “fundamental reason” Clinton lost was due to Stein’s candidacy.

“The election in 2024 looks remarkably similar, with one important exception, and that is 70% of the voters don’t want either of these guys to run,” said McKenna. “I can imagine a world in which we have two, three, four legitimate third parties, and unlike usual, all in they’ll get 1%, 2%, they might get 5% or 6% — and that, without a doubt, is going to be the most important element of this election.”

McKenna added that because Biden’s support is “much softer” than Trump’s, these third-party candidates will likely take more of the president’s votes away, which is key in battleground states that could come down to a few thousand votes.

An Emerson College survey released in early August indicated that Trump and Biden were tied for a head-to-head matchup in the battleground state of Michigan. With West in the mix, Trump would beat Biden by 2 points, followed by the Green Party candidate at 4%, according to the poll.

Since the election will likely be “incredibly close,” a third-party candidate could win enough votes in a swing state to sway the election, said Mehlman. If 2024 isn’t a rematch between Trump and Biden, McKenna and Melhman don’t think third parties will have as much of an effect, as there will be “less of a desire for change” among voters, said Melhman.

A majority of voters in eight battleground states — Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin — don’t want either Trump or Biden to run for another term, according to a No Labels/HarrisX survey. The poll suggested that 63% of voters would “consider voting for a moderate or independent candidate” if there’s a rematch between Trump and Biden.

The RealClearPolitics (RCP) average for a 2024 national Republican and Democratic primary, based on the most recent polling, indicates Trump and Biden are leading their respective fields by 42 points and 50 points, respectively. Trump is currently winning against Biden by 1.3 points in a general election matchup, according to the RCP average.

The Green Party has ballot access in 17 states and Washington, D.C., according to its website. No Labels has secured ballot access in ten states — Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, North Carolina, Oregon, Utah, South Dakota, Nevada and Florida — and is planning to get to 28 states by the end of the year.

John McLaughlin, CEO and partner of McLaughlin & Associates, a polling firm that works closely with the Trump campaign, told the DCNF that Democrats are concerned that voting for a third-party candidate is “a vote for Trump.”

“They know Trump’s base is like very, very solid — much more so than Biden’s. And most of the votes that go for these independents are pulled from Joe Biden, not from Donald Trump, and Trump’s already ahead,” said McLaughlin, referring to a survey he shared with the DCNF that has Trump leading Biden by 4 points.

In a three-way general election matchup between Trump, Biden and West, the former president secured 43% of the vote, followed by Biden at 38% and West at 6%, according to the poll conducted between Sept. 22 and Sept. 26. In a four-way race with Manchin as the No Labels’ candidate, Trump led with 40%, and Biden garnered 36%, Manchin received 6% and West had 4%.

“Polling generally suggests that Biden is a little bit more hurt than third parties than Trump, but that’s not automatically how it would have to end up,” said Kondik.

Jon McHenry, a GOP polling analyst and vice president at North Star Opinion Research, isn’t convinced third parties will advantage one party over the other in 2024, he told the DCNF.

“I could see, depending on who No Labels nominates, that being sort of a safety valve for some, probably not Republicans, but at least sort of conservative-leaning independents, who just can’t pull the trigger for Biden again, but they’re also like, ‘you know what, I sort of think Trump committed treason, and, you know, maybe by that point he’s found guilty on a felony charge or five,’” said McHenry. “So I think it could affect, assuming Trump is the nominee, Trump as much as it affects Biden.”

Trump, Biden, West, Kennedy, Manchin, the Green Party, the Libertarian Party and No Labels did not immediately respond to the DCNF’s requests for comment.

Rep. Matt Gaetz announces plans to oust Speaker McCarthy

Republican Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz announced his plan Sunday to oust House Speaker Kevin McCarthy from leadership on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

Gaetz told CNN’s Jake Tapper he will file a motion this week to remove McCarthy from his seat over a lack of trust. The motion would force a House vote on whether to vacate McCarthy’s seat.

“Speaker McCarthy made an agreement with House conservatives in January and since then he’s been in brazen, repeated material breach of that agreement,” Gaetz said Sunday. “This agreement that he made with Democrats to really blow past a lot of the spending guardrails we’d set up is a last straw.”

The Florida representative said there will be enough Republican votes to oust McCarthy, which will lead the speaker to strike a deal with the Democrats in Congress. He vowed to refuse to cut any deals with Democratic members of Congress.

“The only way Kevin McCarthy is Speaker of the House at the end of this coming week is if Democrats bail him out. Now, they probably will. I actually think that when you believe in nothing, as Kevin McCarthy does, everything’s negotiable and I think he’ll cut a deal with the Democrats,” he said.

If McCarthy does strike a deal with Democrats, Gaetz said, the current Republican leader “will be serving at the pleasure of the Democrats.”

“I’m done owning Kevin McCarthy,” Gaetz continued. “We made a deal in January to allow him to assume the speakership, and I’m not owning him anymore because he doesn’t tell the truth. And so if Democrats want to own Kevin McCarthy by bailing him out, I can’t stop them, but then he’ll be their speaker, not mine.”

Gaetz has reportedly been approaching Democrats about potential replacements if he files the motion to vacate, CNN reported. The tension between Gaetz and McCarthy escalated after President Joe Biden signed a short-term, McCarthy-supported bill Saturday to keep the government open until mid-November. The bill was signed into law just minutes before the federal government’s funding for fiscal year 2023 was slated to expire by midnight.

Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said in a separate Sunday interview with Tapper she would “absolutely” vote in favor of vacating McCarthy’s seat, according to CNN.

“I think Kevin McCarthy is a very weak speaker. He clearly has lost control of his caucus. He has brought the United States and millions of Americans to the brink, waiting until the final hour to keep the government open, and even then only issuing a 45-day extension,” she said.

Federal Investigators Looking Into Charging Hunter Biden for Sex Trafficking Crimes

But it’s Trump and his supporters that are being indicted with fictitious nonsense because he tried to clean this cesspool of vermin from government.

Here’s the latest from the Biden crime family:

  1. A number of women are believed to have crossed state lines for paid sex with Hunter — possibly violating the Mann Act’s prohibition on interstate prostitution.
  2. “There were some flying people across state lines, paying for their travel, paying for their hotels. They were what we call Mann Act violations,” Ziegler said.

Federal investigators explored charging Hunter Biden for sex trafficking crimes

By Victor Nava, NY Post, September 29, 2023:

Federal investigators raised the possibility of charging first son Hunter Biden for crimes related to sex trafficking, according to IRS whistleblower documents made public this week.

Justice Department Tax Division prosecutor Jack Morgan outlined nine instances in which President Biden’s 53-year-old son appeared to be communicating with prostitutes and coordinating their travel across state lines, in an October 2020 email to Assistant US Attorney Lesley Wolf released by the House Ways and Means Committee on Wednesday.

“Lesley: Attached are some, but not all, of the relevant documents related to SM and solicitation,” Morgan writes in the missive, referring to Hunter Biden as “SM.”

“I summarize the contents below. The highlighted records are those that are most probative for Mann act purposes,” he adds.

Morgan’s email highlights two cases where “likely” escorts traveled from Los Angeles and New York to meet with Hunter in Boston.

Congress Squanders Opportunity to End Disaster at the Border, Supports Status Quo Instead

The following statement was issued by Dan Stein, president of the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), regarding the failure of the House of Representatives to include meaningful border enforcement language in the Continuing Resolution:

Washington, D.C., “During this spending battle, the Republican-controlled House of Representatives squandered a chance to address one of the nation’s most pressing crises—our dangerously out-of-control borders. The Continuing Resolution (CR), which was offered on the floor Friday, included many of the spending cuts conservative Republicans were demanding and it included strong policy changes that would have reversed the Biden administration’s open-borders policies. Yet, nearly two dozen House Republicans voted against it.

“After that failure, Speaker McCarthy today put a clean CR on the floor that offers no spending cuts and no immigration enforcement provisions, but succeeded in passing it with the support of Democrats. In doing so, the Republicans who blocked Friday’s CR proposal allowed the perfect to become the enemy of the good. The good, in this case, would have been passage of meaningful border enforcement measures and a step toward the overall budget cuts they championed.

“The Senate, eager to capitalize on this failure, quickly moved to pass the clean CR offered by the House. The result is that, even in the face of new record numbers of encounters at the border, for the next 45 days nothing will change and the crisis at the border will rage on.

“The CR passed today allows President Biden and Secretary Mayorkas to continue their open-borders agenda, and actually provides them the opportunity to abuse our immigration laws to help facilitate the entry of illegal aliens. The status quo is not acceptable, and only policy changes will avert the crisis that the American people and communities across the country see today.

“Congress’ failure to act in the face of this raging border crisis and humanitarian disaster is unconscionable. Between now and November 17, when the CR runs out, House leaders must make it clear that any spending agreements for FY 2024 must include H.R. 2, the Secure the Border Act.

“What took place over the last few days was a missed opportunity to address a full-fledged crisis. The nation cannot afford to wait. Congress has failed us once. It must use the next 45 days to act.”

Texas Republicans Call for Speaker Dade Phelan’s Resignation

The Republican Party of Texas has spoken with a resounding voice! Voting 52-2 in favor of a resolution that calls for the resignation of Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan is genuinely massive.

The resolution itself has a robust set of reasons. One of the primary concerns voiced is Speaker Phelan’s controversial appointment of Democrats to chair crucial legislative committees. This decision, which was a direct challenge to voters’ wishes, has raised concerns about the direction of the state’s legislative agenda. The appointment of Democrats to such influential positions within the House suggests a willingness to compromise on core conservative values. This prospect does not sit well with many in the Republican Party. It raises questions about the direction of Texas politics and whether these appointments will result in legislation that aligns with the state’s conservative base.

Furthermore, Speaker Phelan’s tenure has been marked by what many see as an unsettling pattern of undermining the GOP’s core priorities. Key among these is the issue of border security and election integrity, both of which hold paramount importance for the party. Phelan’s failure to prioritize legislation addressing these concerns has left many feeling disillusioned and disconnected from the leadership of the House.

These issues have been at the forefront of party concerns in recent years, and the failure to address them effectively has raised eyebrows among party members. For many, border security is not just a policy matter; it’s a matter of fundamental security and sovereignty. Texas, with its extensive border with Mexico, is pivotal in safeguarding its borders. The failure to prioritize legislation addressing border security raises alarm about the state’s ability to protect its citizens and the integrity of the immigration system.

Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, a prominent figure within the Texas GOP, minced no words when he declared that Phelan is “undeserving of his leadership position.”

Adding fuel to the fire is Phelan’s controversial support for the impeachment of Attorney General Ken Paxton. While Paxton was ultimately acquitted, the fact that Phelan endorsed such a move has led to internal strife within the Party in Texas. Paxton asserted that Phelan “pressured other House members to vote for the impeachment … and continues to defend his action despite the weakness of the case.”

The resolution itself is a clear message from the Texas GOP that a change in leadership is needed. It reflects the party’s apprehension that members have been coerced into acting and voting against the platform and principles cherished by the party and its voters. The call for change becomes even more urgent as Texas braces for a special session.

It remains to be seen whether Speaker Phelan will heed the call for his resignation or if he will dig in his heels and attempt to weather the storm. Political pundits, constituents, and party members will closely watch the political drama unfolding in the coming days and weeks.

The outcome remains uncertain as Speaker Phelan’s response and the subsequent political developments unfold.

Harris County GOP Chairman Cindy Siegel weighed in on the growing discontent with Speaker Phelan, emphasizing the significance of county parties across the state expressing their displeasure. She stated:

“The growing number of county parties across Texas voicing their displeasure with Speaker Phelan should not be taken with a grain of salt. Like our own, the voting members of these parties are the Grassroots — They’re the backbone and the beating heart of the Republican party.”

As the Lone Star State navigates this tumultuous chapter in its political history, one thing is clear: the eyes of the nation are firmly fixed on Texas, watching to see how this pivotal moment unfolds.

Ivanka Trump listed as prosecution witness in her father’s New York fraud trial

Judge Arthur Engoron ruled this week that Trump engaged in fraud

Filing says prosecutors will call Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump

By Geoff Earle, Deputy U.S. Political Editor For Dailymail.com 28 September 2023:

Former first daughter Ivanka Trump is among the Trump family members prosecutors plan to call in the fraud trial set to start Monday in New York.

She is among three Trump children listed as witnesses in the case, after Judge Arthur Engoron issued a stunning ruling finding Trump and his company committed fraud over a period of years.

New York state AG Letitia James has sued Trump and his firm for $250 million in damages, in a trial where the penalty phase kicks off next week following Engoron’s summary judgement ruling.

Trump has attacked the judge as a ‘Trump Hater’ and fumed about the attack on his family business, amid uncertainty about whether the latest ruling would force him to liquidate his real estate and hospitality empire in the state.

Prosecutors plan to call former first daughter Ivanka Trump as a witness in the Trump fraud case. She was a senior advisor in the Trump White House. As an employee of her father’s company, she was involved in the lease of the Old Post Office for the former Trump hotel in D.C.

A Principled Conservative’s Triumph

The Acquittal, Motives, and Retribution of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.

The recent acquittal of Ken Paxton on all 16 articles of impeachment is a testament to the resilience of a principled conservative who refused to be swayed by political adversaries driven solely by their agendas rather than principles. The impeachment trial, initiated by Democrats and Republicans in Name Only (RINOs), was nothing short of a politically motivated attack on Paxton, a close ally of former President Donald Trump. His acquittal represents a personal triumph and a blow to those who harbored personal interests in his removal from office.

Motives Behind the Impeachment

Paxton embarked on a thorny path that ultimately led to the impeachment trial, driven by an unyielding commitment to justice in the shadow of formidable, entrenched interests. Fearlessly, he delved into the activities of such titans as Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson, spotlighting their roles in gain-of-function research and their potential manipulation of public perception. His pledge to root out corruption extended to pharmaceutical manufacturer Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, where he took action against inflated drug prices that harmed the Texas Medicaid program.

But Paxton’s principled stance did not end there. He vocally opposed vaccine and mask mandates, setting himself apart in a political climate fraught with divisive rhetoric. The investigations into the use of puberty blockers were seen as targeting trans-Texans by some. Still, Paxton saw it as a necessary step in ensuring transparency and safeguarding the well-being of young individuals.

However, as the events leading to the trial unequivocally demonstrated, Paxton’s support for former President Donald Trump and his steadfast adherence to conservative tenets made him a target for Democrats and GOP establishment members alike. Paxton’s adversaries perceived him as a potent challenge to their firmly entrenched power structures. Their shared concern stemmed from a deep-seated fear that Paxton’s unwavering dedication to conservative principles could unravel their nefarious designs. Paxton’s steadfastness in upholding these ideals was seen as a direct insult to the intricate web of interests that had, over time, become entangled in the state’s political machinery.

The Impeachment Trial: A Politically Motivated Attack

The impeachment trial, a stark and public display of political maneuvering, was a calculated assault on Paxton’s character and deeply held principles. This theatrical spectacle siphoned precious taxpayer resources and offered little beyond a futile endeavor to besmirch his reputation. Orchestrated by those with vested interests, the trial aimed to erode Paxton’s credibility and undercut the foundations upon which he steadfastly stood, which revolved around a commitment to the rule of law and unwavering principles.

Paxton’s Promise of Retribution

Ken Paxton, a man of conviction, made it clear that he would not let these attacks go unanswered. In a recent interview, he vowed retribution against his political enemies, singling out individuals and groups that had played a role in his tribulations.

Karl Rove, a prominent figure in Republican pundit and fundraiser, found himself in Paxton’s crosshairs, facing the consequences of his actions. Additionally, Texans for Lawsuit Reform (TLR), a group that had funded one of Paxton’s 2022 primary challengers, became a target of Paxton’s ire. He accused TLR of having a hand in a Wall Street Journal op-ed by former Gov. Rick Perry, urging senators to proceed with the impeachment trial. Paxton’s determination to hold those responsible accountable revealed his commitment to justice.

Not stopping there, Paxton did not hesitate to criticize fellow Republicans he perceived as having betrayed him and the party. House Speaker Dade Phelan, U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, and even the all-Republican Court of Criminal Appeals faced Paxton’s disapproval. His readiness to confront those within his party illustrated his dedication to upholding conservative values, even when it meant challenging his allies.

A Principled Conservative’s Victory

Therefore, Paxton’s recent exoneration vividly illustrates his unyielding fidelity to Texan values. Paxton’s relentless pursuit of truth emerges as a beacon that vividly describes a political landscape marred by turbulence of agendas and the resulting polarization. His unwavering stance against powerful entities such as Big Pharma, Big Tech, and election fraud concerns demonstrates a commitment deeply rooted in the hearts of Texan voters.

This event reaffirms his position as a prominent figure, championing the causes that resonate with the Lone Star State. It underscores the enduring influence of his convictions and signifies his continued role as a stalwart defender of justice and the sanctity of the rule of law in Texas.

It is a beacon of hope for those who believe in the resilience of true conservative morals.

Tucker Carlson Declares Abortion a ‘Spiritual Battle’

Veteran reporter and cultural-cum-political commentator Tucker Carlson is declaring that the fight against abortion is in fact a matter of spiritual warfare. Speaking at a gala hosted by The Center for Christian Virtue last week in Cleveland, Carlson stated that abortion is not a “political debate” but a “spiritual battle.”

The ex-Fox News host said that for most of his life and career “the debates that we had in the political sphere were over competing visions for how to improve people’s lives.” Referring to debates over issues like minimum wage, Carlson said, “I was on one side of it, but I could also sort of see the other side. Both sides were at least pretending to try to improve the lives of the people who voted for them.” The prevalence of abortion as a political issue is, argued Carlson, a departure from the sort of debate he and much of America has long been accustomed to.

Carlson pointed to two Ohio ballot initiatives — one enshrining abortion in the state constitution and the other decriminalizing recreational drug use — that he found especially distressing and disturbing. He asked, “When you wind up in an election where the two top ballot initiatives are 1) encouraging people to kill their own kids and 2) encourage their kids to do drugs, who’s benefitting here?” He then extolled the joys of being a parent and raising a family, saying, “I’m serious. The one unalloyed source of joy in your life is your children, the point of life is to have children, and to watch them have grandchildren. Nothing will bring you joy like that will — nothing comes close, nothing comes close.” Carlson continued:

“So anyone telling you, ‘Don’t have children, kill your children,’ is not your friend, it’s your enemy. And by the way, it’s a very recognizable promise that they’re making to you, because it’s as old as time and it’s chronicled in great detail throughout the Hebrew Bible — it’s human sacrifice, which rears its head about every four chapters, and which is singled out for approbation every time. Of all the sins the ancient committed, that sin, every single time it’s described, is called detestable… Detestable. God singled that out.”

“Why were people doing that?” he asked. “Because, of course, they believed that they were getting power and contentment and happiness in return.” Carlson explained that child sacrifice was not a practice relegated to the Mayans or Aztecs but was practiced by practically every major civilization or peoples from antiquity. “Human sacrifice, the sacrifice of children, the killing of children is the one constant in human civilization.”

He continued to note that all these various ancient civilizations, spread across different regions and continents across the globe, all reached the same conclusion: that child sacrifice might provide happiness or safety. Carlson said that conclusion couldn’t be reached “organically,” pointing out that it contradicts evolutionary biology and the instinct to preserve and continue not just the species but the family.

So where did human sacrifice come from? “That’s an idea, an impulse that was introduced,” Carlson explained. “Outside forces are acting on people at all times throughout history in every culture on the planet to convince people that if they sacrifice their children they will be happy and safe.” He continued:

“And that’s exactly what this is. This is a religious rite. This is not a policy debate, they’re not telling you that some girl got raped at 13 and she needs to go to college and therefore, unfortunately, we need to abort the child. No. That was 20 years ago. Now they’re saying, ‘Abortion is itself a pathway to joy.’ Really? So this is not a political debate, this is a spiritual battle. There is no other conclusion.”

Addressing the other ballot initiative promoting recreational drug use, Carlson quipped, “Take more drugs and be happy? Right, okay.” He expounded that the results of that initiative would essentially zombify the population. “Less conscious, less aware, give your soul over, dull yourself, become a robot. Really? Those are the promises they’re making?”

The bulk of Carlson’s speech last week is reminiscent of a speech he delivered earlier this year at The Heritage Foundation’s 50th anniversary gala. In that speech, Carlson said that American debate used to center on differing policy plans for achieving what was generally an agreed-upon good outcome. But now, he said, “people … decide that the goal is to destroy things — destruction for its own sake — ‘Hey, let’s tear it down’ — what you’re watching is not a political movement, it’s evil.”

Referring to abortion, he reiterated that abortion advocates have gone from claiming that abortion is “sometimes necessary” to foaming at the mouth for abortion on demand anywhere, any time, for any reason. “If you’re telling me that abortion is a positive good … you’re arguing for child sacrifice.… That’s like an Aztec principle, actually.” He argued that the era of policy paper debates is over and America is now in a period of “theological” war. Days after delivering that speech, Carlson was removed from Fox News, reportedly because then-Fox chairman Rupert Murdoch thought the speech was too Christian and was unsettled by its theological overtones.

Last week, though, Carlson did more than just highlight the reality of America’s present spiritual war. He asked, “So how do you respond to this?” The answer, he suggested, is to remain courageous. Citing St. Paul as a hero of his, Carlson said:

“This is like the bravest guy ever. There’s not a letter he wrote where he didn’t have a sword hanging over his neck, he expected at any moment to be murdered, and I think the consensus among historians is, in the end he was. He was murdered. … But he lived with the certainty that he was going to be killed for his beliefs every day. And he was totally unbothered by it, completely. … He was never afraid.”

“And by the way,” Carlson asked, “why would he be afraid? He believed his fate was sealed. He was going to join Jesus. He was going to Heaven.” Carlson proclaimed that courage is the “marker” of the Christian faith, adding that if a Christian is afraid, then “you’re kind of not doing it right, are you? There’s no excuse for being afraid.” Whether facing the threat of a worldwide “pandemic” with a 99% survival rate or facing a firing squad for being a Christian, Carlson’s exhortation was clear: be not afraid.

‘Mountain Of Evidence’: Oversight Chair Comer Sets Stage For First Biden Impeachment Hearing

House Oversight and Government Accountability Committee Chairman James Comer will emphasize America’s desire for accountability during the first impeachment inquiry hearing into President Joe Biden Thursday, according to an opening statement reviewed by the Daily Caller.

The House Oversight and Government Accountability Committee is set to hold a hearing Thursday regarding the value of an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden for his alleged involvement in an influence-peddling scheme connected to Hunter’s foreign business dealings. Comer will open the hearing, according to an opening statement reviewed by the Daily Caller, by detailing the committee’s past findings including that the Bidens and their associates have “created over 20 shell companies and raked in over $24 million dollars.”

“For years, President Biden has lied to the American people about his knowledge of and participation in his family’s corrupt business schemes,” the Kentucky Republican’s opening statement reads. “Evidence reveals that then-Vice President Joe Biden spoke, dined, and developed relationships with his family’s foreign business targets. These business targets include foreign oligarchs who sent millions of dollars to his family. It also includes a Chinese national who wired a quarter of a million dollars to his son.”

Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy directed House Republicans in September to open a formal impeachment inquiry into Biden over his conduct as vice president. The House speaker first started weighing an impeachment inquiry in August over whether the Department of Justice (DOJ) used David Weiss’s position as special counsel to block or alter an investigation into Hunter Biden by the House Oversight Committee.

Hunter Biden pled not guilty to two tax misdemeanors in July after his diversion agreement and plea deal fell apart under the scrutiny of U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika, which led to a disagreement between Hunter Biden’s legal team and the DOJ.

“To date, the House Oversight Committee has uncovered how the Bidens and their associates created over 20 shell companies and raked in over $24 million dollars,” Comer’s statement reads. “We’ve also identified nine members of the Biden family who have participated in or benefited from these business schemes. What were the Bidens selling to make all this money?”

“Joe Biden himself,” the statement continues.

The latest evidence in the Biden impeachment inquiry includes a Tuesday report from the committee that shows that Hunter Biden’s Chinese business associates sent the first son more than $250,000 worth of wires using Joe Biden’s Delaware home listed as the beneficiary address.

Hunter Biden was paid $10,000 by Chinese associate Wang Xin in July 2019 with another $250,000 being wired to Hunter by Johnathan Li, a different Chinese business associate, in August 2019, the House Oversight Committee found. President Joe Biden’s address in Wilmington, Delaware, is listed as the beneficiary for both of the 2019 wires.

“The American people demand accountability for this culture of corruption,” Comer’s opening statement reads. “They demand to know how these schemes have compromised President Biden and threaten our national security. They demand safeguards to be put in place to prevent public officials from selling access to their public office for private gain.”

James Comer Announces Subpoenas For Hunter And James Biden’s Bank Records

Republican Kentucky Rep. James Comer, chairman of the House Oversight Committee, announced Thursday he is issuing subpoenas for personal and business bank records from Hunter Biden and his uncle, James Biden.

Comer announced the new subpoenas at the conclusion of the first impeachment inquiry hearing into President Joe Biden led by the House Oversight Committee.

“I want to thank the witnesses for their testimony today. It confirms the evidence compiled by this committee justifies the investigation of Joe Biden’s role in his family’s international business schemes and justifies the next step of this investigation,” Comer said in his closing statement.

“Therefore, today I will subpoena the bank records of Hunter Biden, James Biden and their affiliated companies,” Comer concluded.

Comer clarified during the hearing that the bank records already obtained by House Oversight came from suspicious activity reports sent by banks to the Treasury Department flagging the Biden family’s foreign business dealings.

The House Ways and Means, Judiciary and Oversight Committees are leading the impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden related to Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings and the IRS whistleblower testimony accusing the Department of Justice (DOJ) of giving Hunter Biden special treatment during its ongoing investigation into Biden’s alleged tax and gun offenses.

The chairmen of the three committees circulated a memo Wednesday showing the Biden family and its associates brought in more than $24 million from Ukraine, Russia, China, Romania and Kazakhstan from 2014-19 through a network of shell companies. Joe Biden’s false statements about his knowledge of his son’s business dealings and Hunter Biden’s business dealings with China were also included in the memo.

The House Ways and Means Committee released 700 pages of documents Wednesday substantiating IRS whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler’s testimonies that DOJ investigators allegedly slow-walked and obstructed the Hunter Biden investigation.

Among the documents are text messages from Hunter Biden, a memo summarizing an interview with James Biden, internal DOJ correspondence, internal IRS documents, emails from Hunter Biden’s laptop archive, diagrams outlining Hunter Biden’s network of business entities and communications with Ukrainian energy firm Burisma.

Burisma paid Hunter Biden more than $80,000 per month to be a board member of the company despite his lack of experience with Ukrainian affairs and the energy industry, bank records indicate.

The House committees leading the impeachment inquiry continue to investigate the IRS whistleblower allegations alongside House Oversight’s investigation of the Biden family’s foreign business dealings.

Hunter Called Biden ‘Brand’ His Family’s Only ‘Asset’, Message Shows

Hunter Biden referred to the Biden “brand” as his family’s “only asset” in a message released in new documents by the House Ways and Means Committee.

The House Ways and Means Committee released a 700-page report Wednesday containing documents to corroborate the testimony of IRS whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler, who alleged that the Justice Department slow-walked the investigation into Hunter Biden and gave him “preferential treatment.” The younger Biden wrote in a June 6. 2017 message to James Biden, his uncle, that the Biden brand was his family’s only asset and called access to it as “the keys,” according to the report.

“Bull***t James – all around bull**t. Explain to me one thing Tony brings to MY table that I so desperately need that I’m willing to sign over my family’s brand and pretty much the rest of my business life?” the message reads, appearing to refer to his former business partner Tony Bobulisnki. “Read the f***ing documents people.”

“It’s plane f***ing English,” he wrote, according to the document. “Why in gods name would I give this marginal bully the keys my family’s only asset? Why?”

Devon Archer, Hunter Biden’s former business associate, testified to the House Oversight Committee in July that the value of adding Hunter to the board of Ukrainian energy company Burisma was “the brand” — then-Vice President Joe Biden. Archer also said Joe Biden spoke with his son’s business associates more than 20 times.

Joe Biden’s role in helping Hunter’s business dealings is central to House Republicans’ investigation, and resulting impeachment inquiry.

The documents released Wednesday also contain an email from Justin T. Cole, the Office of Communications Director for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), who said a CNN producer who reached out about the investigation had an email Hunter wrote stating he “expected all of this ‘stuff’ to go away when his dad becomes President.”

“This evidence makes clear Hunter Biden’s business was selling the Biden ‘brand’ and that access to the White House was his family’s most valuable asset – despite official claims otherwise,” House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith said in a statement.
