New Study Links Premarital Sex with Separation and Divorce

Study: ‘Generalized beliefs that uncommitted sex is okay … can contribute to the failure of a marriage’

by Paul Murano  •  ChurchMilitant.com

If you already knew divorce rates today are in part the byproduct of the sexual revolution, this will confirm your wisdom. A new study conducted by a group of Florida State University researchers, published in the journal Psychological Scienceconcludes that premarital sex can have deleterious effects on one’s future marriage.

The researchers investigated common factors influential in determining the success and failure of marriagesAmong the major factors contributing to marriage failure is an individual’s premarital beliefs and behaviors toward uncommitted sex.

What we’ve found,” Juliana French, the first author of the studysaid in a statement to the Association for Psychological Science, “is that when, prior to their marriage, one or both spouses hold generalized beliefs that uncommitted sex is okay, that can contribute to the failure of a marriage.”

Generalized beliefs that uncommitted sex is okay can contribute to the failure of a marriage.Tweet

French, along with assistant professor Andrea Meltzer and fellow graduate student Emma Altgelt, collected and analyzed data from 204 newly married couples, focusing primarily on information gathered about their behaviors and attitudes prior to marriage.

While following up periodically with the couples over several years in order to discover what may lead to marital satisfaction, they collected information and cataloged data on which couples had eventually separated or filed for divorce.

The researchers found that people who expressed behaviors, desires and attitudes prior to marriage that would make them more likely to engage in uncommitted sexual relationshipswho generally believed that sex without love or commitment is OKwere more likely to separate and divorce.

The bad news goes even further. While those who were loose in attitude and behavior on sex without commitment were less satisfied at the start of their marriages, and experienced more rapid declines in satisfaction over the first several years of marriagepeople whose marital partners had been “unrestricted” or promiscuous in action and attitude prior to marriage also  experienced a rapid decline in marital satisfaction over the first few years of marriage, leading to greater likelihood of separation or divorce — even if they themselves were premaritally celibate.

“What we found most surprising about these results was the fact that both [spouses’ premarital attitudes and experience] play an important role in long-term marital outcomes,” said French.

This study is another example of science supporting the truth and goodness of natural law, codified in Christian moral teachingScripture infers that sexual union is not simply something one does, but something two become.

Two becoming “one flesh” could happen within (Gen. 2:24), or outside of (1 Cor. 6:16) marriage. Aquinas speaks of the one-flesh union as creating a new relation that cannot be repudiated. We are learning more through science about the profundity of the biblical term of two becoming one flesh.

Scripture infers that sexual union is not simply something one does, but something two become. Tweet

Genetic material, chemical compounds, hormones and prostaglandins, nucleotides and seminal proteins are exchanged and commingled in this greatest of natural human intimaciesTracey Chapman, a researcher at the University of East Anglia in Norwich in the United Kingdom, has conducted studies on fruit flies and has concluded that seminal protein is a “master regulator of genes and that females exposed to it through sexual union show a wide range of changes in gene expression.

Cells have proteins called receptors that bind to signaling molecules and initiate a physiological response. Chapman believes this kind of sexual signaling is widespread in the animal world, raising questions about what kind of behavioral responses may occur in female mammals.

A 2002 CUNY study conducted by psychologist Gordon Gallup and subsequent confirmations indicate that seminal fluid does indeed alter the mood of womenas it is absorbed into their bloodstream and acts as a mood stabilizer and safeguard against depression

It is now well-documented that “bonding hormones” such as oxytocin and vasopressin are released during sexual intimacy, causing emotional and psychological bonding between the two partners. Other scientific studies relating to male microchimerism in women and the possibility of telegony in humans have pointed to other interesting possibilities that may someday uncover more depth of truth about the one-flesh union.

The more science reveals insight into the physical, psychological and social dimensions of the family, the more the “Sexual Revolution” is nakedly exposed as the destructive foundation upholding our Culture of DeathAs this study points to in its correlation between premarital sex and divorce, it is a revolution not only against God, but against human nature as well.

Beaten and Threatened for Defending Women’s Rights

Reda Eldanbouki is a lawyer and the head of the Women’s center for Guidance and Legal Awareness in Egypt. He leads the battle for human and women’s rights and fights FGM in Egypt. He’s also a dear and close friend of Clarion.

A few days ago, Eldanbouki was brutally attacked while trying to save a young woman from being abused by her family.

The incident happened in the city of Mansoura, located northeast of Cairo. Eldanbouki got a phone call from a 25-year-old student who said, “Please, I need help! My parents won’t let me to go to my university! They won’t even let me leave the house. I’m a student in the faculty of sciences. They say it’s because I’ll have relations with a guy and I’ll bring them shame.”

Right after Eldanbouki took down her name and address, he heard screaming. The phone suddenly went dead.

Eldanbouki later found out that besides the fact that this young woman was dating a man who she had chosen (not her family), the girl was enmeshed in a battle with her family from whom she was demanding her inheritance rights.

Egyptian law allows women rights of inheritance. But not only are these laws not implemented, most men block female family members from receiving any of their rightful inheritance.

Without hesitation, Eldanbouki jumped in his car and sped to the young woman’s house. He knew calling the police would be worthless as they wouldn’t help in a situation like this. The young woman’s family also must have figured this out, because when he arrived, four male family members were waiting for him.

They grabbed him and dragged him to the fourth floor of the house where they tied his hands behind his back and bound his legs.

“You’re Reda Eldanbouki!” they shouted while kicking him all over his body and delivering punches to his chest and head. “You want our daughters to be infidels, not get circumcised and date men!”

They broke his glasses and took turns beating him, threatening him that if he continued to defend women and advocate for women’s rights, they would kill him.

At some point, Eldanbouki lost consciousness. He woke up on the side of a road with no ID and his phone broken. A note in his pocket read, “This is just a warning, the next time it will cost you your life.”

Eldanbouki is now recovering. When we asked him if he will continue to fight for women’s rights, he answered, “Without any hesitation, as long as I’m alive,” proving, unfortunately, that the fight for women’s rights in the Middle East is no less dangerous than the rest of the battles in that part of the world.

Trump’s White House Does More for Black Media Members Than Liberal Press Will Ever Tell You

Last week Pastor Mark Burns, a Trump family confidant, and I facilitated a meeting at the White House for members of the executive board of the National Newspaper Publisher Association (NNPA).

NNPA is a trade association of more than 200 black-owned newspapers from across the United States.

The group has been around for more than 75 years.

Today, these 200 black newspapers reach more than 20 million black readers each week. Many of these newspapers have active websites and social media presences as well.

To be sure, certain publishers were skeptical about anything substantive coming out of such a meeting at the White House — yet the skepticism all but disappeared by the end of it.

Now, Pastor Burns — who runs Harvest Praise & Worship Center in South Carolina — and I have been tasked with making sure we follow up on all of the positive action items that flowed from the White House staff with whom we consulted.

When we called the Trump White House to gauge the openness to meeting with these newspaper owners, the answer was an unequivocal “yes.” Staff went on to ask, in fact, how soon we could organize this meeting.

We responded that the publishers were already in town for another conference, so we could facilitate asap. The White House seemed to moved heaven and earth to accommodate our meeting request.

Right about now, you might be asking, “Who in the White House would show this level of interest in meeting these influential newspaper publishers?”

The answer is that Stephanie Grisham, Hogan Gidley, and Darin Miller hosted the meeting with us.

Grisham is the White House press secretary; Gidley is the White House principal deputy press secretary; and Miller is deputy press secretary for Vice President Mike Pence.

This shows the level of seriousness given to this meeting. These three senior aides have the ear of the president and vice president; and we were told that both President Donald Trump and Vice President Pence would be briefed on our meeting and that the three individuals we met with would communicate how pleased they were with the dialogue that took place.

Oh, and did I tell you the White House thought enough of this group that the meeting didn’t just take place in just “any” of the meeting rooms in the White House — it took place in the vice president’s ceremonial office? This office is an ornate, historic room that is typically reserved for special occasions. Based on this, I will let you draw your own conclusions!

Grisham, Gidley, and Miller expressed great appreciation the group had made the time to get-together. The show of humility was very moving.

The aides asked the publishers to speak up about any concerns they might want or need addressed. The biggest concern by far was a lack of access to the White House and various administration officials.

The group was given an ironclad commitment this would no longer be an issue. They vowed to assist the publishers with access to various administration officials they were trying to reach for stories they were in the process of working on and reporting. Their job is to serve all of the American people, they stressed — not merely those who support the administration.

The aides indicated they wanted to have an ongoing dialogue with this group so that they could continue to build better relations with America’s black press.

There are about five follow-up items Pastor Burns and I will be handling; everyone involved thought this was a great first meeting.

The final thing Grisham, Gidley, and Miller said that left a good impression was that they were not necessarily expecting glowing stories about the administration — though they would welcome that. Rather, they felt it critical the administration was given an opportunity to present its side of whatever issue the media might be addressing. That’s all most people can ask.

The Trump administration has a great story to tell relative to the black community. It now has a chance to be heard directly by over 20 million blacks every week.

The Democrats’ biggest fear, it seems, is that the Trump administration will speak directly to the black community in a substantive, meaningful way without political input from the Left.

Yet Pastor Burns and I are committed to working with the Trump White House to share the administration’s message of hope and progress directly with the black community throughout the U.S.

After all, what do we have to lose?

PODCAST: In NYC, a Change of Orientation

The last place anyone would expect liberals to rethink their extremism is New York City. But, thanks to a new lawsuit, even the Big Apple seems to understand when it’s vulnerable. “Pinch yourself,” FRC’s Cathy Ruse says. One of the most radical cities on earth is about to walk back its LGBT counseling ban. All because one courageous psychotherapist fought back.

Like most Americans, Dr. Dovid Schwartz doesn’t want the government telling him what he can and can’t say — especially not to patients in desperate need of a listening ear. As someone who’s practiced in New York City for 50 years, he’s seen countless people who want his help overcoming same-sex attractions. After the council passed its ban on talk therapy for patients like his, simply offering that help would have come at a price: $1,000, $5,000, or $10,000 for first, second, and third violations. In Schwartz’s opinion, people should have the right to seek whatever counseling they need. By passing the law, they weren’t just punishing therapists, they were punishing patients. It’s “inhumane,” he argued.

So, with the help of Alliance Defending Freedom, he filed a lawsuit. And, without even stepping foot in a courtroom, Schwartz won. The council, seeing the writing on the wall, buckled, announcing that it would be the first legislative body in America to reverse itself on the issue. “Obviously, I didn’t want to repeal this,” the council’s speaker, Corey Johnson, told reporters last week. “I don’t want to be someone who is giving in to these right-wing groups. But the Supreme Court has become conservative; the Second Circuit, which oversees New York, has become more conservative. [And] we think this is the most responsible, prudent course.”

Friday, on “Washington Watch,” lead ADF attorney Roger Brooks told listeners that this case was about a lot more than sexual orientation or gender identity. It goes to the heart of free speech as we know it. “What this lawsuit is about is defending the right of New Yorkers — and obviously, down the road, protect every American to pursue their [own] lives [and seek their own] counsel… [T]here were fundamental constitutional issues at stake… And the bottom line, I think, is that after they looked a little harder at the case, the city attorneys had to agree and agreed that this was simply found unconstitutional.”

ADF’s hope — and ours — is that more elected officials see what’s happening in New York and stop to think about the dangerous side effects to policies like this one. This law, he points out, “extended to conversations between a therapist and an adult,” but there are a great many other laws that take aim at minors and their free speech and personal rights. “Some of those laws are currently being challenged… [and] I think that this case is likely to slow down the emotion elsewhere in the country.” Maybe, he hints, it’s the start of something.

FRC’s Ruse agrees. In a column for the Stream, she talks about the significance of the LGBT movement — “a wrecking ball against any cultural or legal edifice in its way — repealing its own law out of fear. It fears that the new slate of federal judges — who see themselves as umpires and not social problem-solvers — might well strike its law. And in the process, create a precedent that threatens other new laws policing LGBT speech. This is, in a word, huge. It might even rise to the level of a paradigm shift.”

But, she warns, it’s not over until it’s over. “Even if the New York City gag rule is repealed, nearly 20 state gag rules still stand, including one passed by the New York General Assembly this January.” That’s where you come in. There are plenty of local councils and state leaders trying to keep Americans trapped in a lifestyle of pain and bondage. Ohio has a hearing on a similar ban this Wednesday. Minnesota, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin aren’t far behind. Make sure you’re informed. Find out how Sexual Orientation Change Efforts (SOCE) are helping people — and what you can do to protect them in Peter Sprigg’s new issue analysis, here.

VIDEO: Exposing the mainstreaming and disguising of communism in the USA

Posted by Eeyore

She does quite a good job. The first guy she speaks with is a classic example of the communist hyperbole. He doesn’t say communist or socialist preferring the term, progressive. At this point its worth knowing that a famous communist leader in a speech in the USA that was attended by Bella Dodd, quoted here, said in Philadelphia, PA on November 16, 1953,

I was told by Gil Green, chairman of the party in New York State, that if ever communism came to America it would not come under the Socialist label or the Communist label but it would come under a label palatable to the American people.”

That Communist Party leader Alexander Trachtenberg included terms like “progressive democracy” and “liberalism.”

FIFA: Did a Woman Have to Die Before You Stepped In?

FIFA officials will make a visit to Iran after a young woman set herself on fire after being arrested for attending a soccer match.

FIFA (the International Federation of Association Football) gave the Islamic Republic until August 31 to allow women to enter soccer stadiums, but the deadline passed with no signs of compliance. Unfortunately, it appears that it has taken the death of young woman to wake FIFA up.

This story began when Sahar Khodayari, a young Iranian woman who has been since dubbed “Blue Girl” (due to her favorite team’s colors), was arrested for trying to enter a soccer stadium disguised as a man.

After spending three days in jail, she was released on bail and a court date was set for six month later. However, when Khodayari showed up for her trial, she found that it was postponed due to the judge being called away for a family emergency.

It was reported that when she went to pick up her cell phone, she overheard someone saying that if she was convicted, she would be sentence to between six months and two years in jail.

Hearing this, she set herself on fire in front of the courthouse and later died in the hospital.

Women have been forbidden from entering stadiums to watch men’s sporting events since 1981, two years after the Islamic Revolution that propelled the ayatollahs into power. One exception was made last year when women were allowed in a stadium to watch the streaming of the World Cup.

145 companies just made it official: Leftist claptrap is more important than the U.S. Constitution

The United States’ Founders understood that law-abiding, decent people must be able to protect themselves from criminals and governments. They enshrined this right into the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

Regretfully, leaders of 145 of America’s corporations – some of them industry and cultural leaders – just decided that sucking up to the “woke” leftist crowd is more important than human rights, constitutional guarantees, and evidence.

Complete cluelessness

From Twitter to Levi’s to Edelman and Eventbrite, these CEOs and co-founders wrote a letter demanding that Congress step in to restrict firearm ownership rights. They urged background checks and increased ability for law enforcement to restrict the rights of people interpreted as potentially dangerous – “red flag” laws.

Here’s the problem: Government has often missed obvious signs with current laws, never mind ones which put more responsibility on faceless bureaucrats and law enforcement officers. As we discussed earlier this month, the recent Odessa, Texas shooting happened a month after police were called about the alleged shooter threatening a neighbor with a rifle. Police never showed and the shooter never should have owned a firearm in the first place, according to media reports.

This is a common occurrence – the same government which these CEOs want us to trust to stop shooters completely missing obvious signs of future violence.

What about abuse of power?

Gun ownership is not a problem in America. The 2ndVote Gun Cam proves that a gun under constant surveillance NEVER commits a crime on its own, and the data shows that justified self-defense is a greater cause of gun deaths than homicide.

But these CEOs don’t get that. They want government to step in to stop crimes before they take place – thought-crime that can be valuable in keeping society safe, but can also easily be abused…especially if the citizenry is disarmed.

Take action

America’s corporations are increasingly taking an anti-constitutional approach to firearm ownership. We urge you to contact Twitter’s, Levi’s, and Eventbrite’s CEOs. Tell them to respect the human and constitutional right to self-defense by sticking to business instead of poking their noses into the morass of politics.

Republicans Sweep North Carolina Special Elections — Sign of 2020 KAG Landslide?

The Democratic National Campaign Committee has for the past several months  made the Congressional special elections in North Carolina a referendum on the Trump administration and its policies.

Well, the results are now in. Both Republican candidates won handily.

Sign of KAG 2020 Landslide?

According to the Daily Caller’s Capitol Hill reporter Henry Rodgers:

North Carolina Republican candidates Dan Bishop and Greg Murphy won the state’s special elections on Tuesday in the ninth and third Congressional Districts, after continued support from President Donald Trump.

Bishop, a state senator defeated Democrat Dan McCready with 50.47 percent of the vote compared to McCready’s 48.9 percent, with 86% of the vote counted, after millions of dollars were spent on this election. This comes after one of the largest pro-Trump super PACs backed Bishop in the special election, spending over $200,000 in independent expenditures on the Bishop campaign.

Valor America’s Joseph Arlinghaus in an email stated:

Despite almost $10 million in money from the outside for the Democrat in the suburbs of Charlotte and Democratic attempts to make him sound moderate, Republican Dan Bishop has won tonight by more than a 2% margin. That’s excellent.

And along the Outer Banks, Dr. Greg Murphy crushed his opponent by a 24% margin.

The Democrats threw everything but the kitchen sink at North Carolina and they came up short. Surprisingly short from their perspective. This is a momentum booster for the President and for candidates for Congress nationwide who wonder if they should stand close to Donald Trump.

These victories come two days before the third Democratic presidential primary debate in Houston, Texas. These wins were a test of the ability of the Trump campaign’s strategy to win back the U.S. House of Representatives in 2020.

President Trump has shown the ability to fire up his base and get Republicans elected to Congress.

The Key Issues in 2020

It is becoming more and more apparent that there are three key issues that will shape the 2020 election: immigration, the economy and the Second Amendment. All three are to the advantage of the Republican Party.

While there is still over a year before the Presidential election on Tuesday, November 3rd these wins were important for both parties. The Democrats lost, the Republicans won. It’s as simple as that.

The Moral Decay of the Democratic Party — It’s no longer the party of Thomas Jefferson

“Of all the systems of morality, ancient or modern, which have come under my observation, none appear to me so pure as that of Jesus.” – Thomas Jefferson (Letter to William Canby, September 18, 1813).

Thomas Jefferson is considered the founder of the Democratic Party. Today you do not hear about President Jefferson. Why is that? Perhaps the quote above is the answer. Jefferson was a Christian and a believer in Jesus.

Why is the Democratic Party evil and immoral?

In an article titled The Equation That Explains Evil Dennis Prager presents a simple equation that inextricably leads to evil:

GI – W = E

Good Intentions (GI) minus Wisdom (W) leads to Evil (E).

Today’s Democratic Party has long used good intentions without wisdom to create new public policies. These public policies have lead to evil and an immoral society. The Democratic Party is at its core bad, black, dark, evil, iniquitous, nefarious, rotten, sinful, unethical, unlawful, unrighteous, unsavory, vicious, vile, villainous, wicked and wrong. Why? Because the Democratic Party lacks wisdom.

The Democratic Party is evil and immoral.

Let’s take a look at each of the Merriam-Webster synonyms for immoral.

BAD

The Democratic Party is simply bad because of its rejection of morality. This is particularly evident in how it treats those who disagree with them. Those who support the Democratic Party bully those both in the party and those not, by name calling. Members of the Democratic Party and their allies throw around words like: racist, misogynist, Nazi, deplorable, capitalist, homophobic, Islamophobic, 1%, etc. The purpose is to silence anyone who would not give them total power and control.

BLACK

Black is both a color and a race. Today blacks predominantly vote Democratic. The Democratic Party works daily to keep blacks within the fold by telling them that Republicans in general, and President Trump in particular, are racists. But who really are the racists? Who created the Ku Klux Klan? Who created the welfare programs that keep blacks dependent on government social programs? Who supports Planned Parenthood that kills more unborn black babies than any other race? Which party hates white people?

DARK

The Democratic Party has taken the dark road toward Socialism. Socialism leads to serfdom. The core of Socialism is greed, one of the seven deadly sins. Democrats constantly propose forcibly, via taxation, taking from those who work and giving to those who do not work. The Democratic Party is at its core greedy.

EVIL

At a CNN special on the Climate Crisis Senator Bernie Sanders, when asked by a teacher what he would do to control population growth, said women “in poor countries” should have access to birth control. This is population control via Eugenics.

INIQUITOUS

Iniquity is defined as a gross injustice. Can you name any Democrat, or one of their supporters, who has committed a crime, violated the public trust, used their public office for personal gain or broken the law who has not been brought to justice? Injustice is a gross iniquity.

NEFARIOUS

Nefarious is defined as flagrantly wicked or impious. The Democratic Party has embraced groups and individuals who are flagrantly wicked such as the LGBTQ activists, Harvey Weinstein, Jeffery Epstein, Bill Clinton, etc. Impious is not showing respect or reverence, especially for God. Can you name any Democrat that has publicly stated that God is no longer needed in our lives? Have you seen the Democratic Party ally like the ACLU work to remove God from the public square?

ROTTEN

Rotten means suffering from decay. Can you name any inner city controlled by the Democratic Party that is rotting? Can you name any city controlled by the Democratic Party that is infested with: diseases, acute poverty, lawlessness, rats, vermin, etc.?

SINFUL

Can you name any Democrat who has not violated at least one of the Ten Commandments? Perhaps the most nefarious (see above) is the Democratic Party’s violation of the 10th Commandment, “Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s house, nor his farm, nor his cattle, nor anything that is his!” The 10th Commandment warned everyone about the lure of Socialism/Communism/Marxism.

UNETHICAL

Can you name any Democrat who has been unethical? Violated the public trust recently?

UNLAWFUL

Think about the Russian collusion hoax.

UNRIGHTEOUS

Think about how supporters of President Trump have been attacked repeatedly. Some have even called a red hat as triggering.

UNSAVORY

Think about using government funding of abortion to cull the population of the world in order to stop climate change.

VICIOUS

Think about how viciously President Trump and his supporters are attacked daily by Democratic members of Congress, the media and the Democratic Party. Think about the confirmation hearing of Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

Vile includes synonyms such as: foulnastyunpleasantbaddisagreeablehorridhorribledreadfulabominableatrociousoffensiveobnoxiousodiousunsavoryrepulsiveoff-puttingrepellentrevoltingrepugnantdisgustingdistastefulloathsomehatefulnauseatingsickening. Can you name any recent statement by a Democrat that fits one or more of these labels?

VILLAINOUS

Think of the words and actions that come out of the mouths of the supporters of Democrats in Hollywood.

WICKED

The Democrat mantra is wickedness. See evil above.

WRONG

Democrats are wrong about everything. Their policies, positions, history and embrace of Communism are just wrong. The Democratic Party forgets history and therefore is doomed to repeat it. The only historical fact is that Socialism has failed 100% of the time.

Conclusion

As Dennis Prager in his article The Equation That Explains Evil notes:

The problem with communists and with leftists who don’t consider themselves communists is not that none of them mean well. It’s that they lack wisdom. There are wise and foolish liberals, wise and foolish conservatives; but all leftists are fools. Every one of the Democrats running for president is a fool. This is not, however, a description of their totality as a human being. Fools may be personally kind and generous, may be loyal friends and devoted spouses, and of course, they may be well-intentioned. But in terms of making the world worse, there is little difference between a well-meaning fool and an evil human being. Tens of millions of well-intentioned Westerners supported Stalin. The Westerners who supplied Stalin the secrets to the atom bomb were not motivated by evil. They were simply fools. But few evil people did as much to hurt the world as they did. [Emphasis added]

In 2016, the Oxford Dictionaries selected “post-truth” as the “Word of the Year” and defined it as “a term relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief.”

Today the Democratic Party is built upon the shifting sands of post-truth.

Anyone disagree? If so please leave a comment.

Marijuana, Mental Illness, and Violence

The following is adapted from a speech delivered on January 15, 2019, at Hillsdale College’s Allan P. Kirby, Jr. Center for Constitutional Studies and Citizenship in Washington, D.C.

Seventy miles northwest of New York City is a hospital that looks like a prison, its drab brick buildings wrapped in layers of fencing and barbed wire. This grim facility is called the Mid-Hudson Forensic Psychiatric Institute. It’s one of three places the state of New York sends the criminally mentally ill—defendants judged not guilty by reason of insanity.

Until recently, my wife Jackie—Dr. Jacqueline Berenson—was a senior psychiatrist there. Many of Mid-Hudson’s 300 patients are killers and arsonists. At least one is a cannibal. Most have been diagnosed with psychotic disorders like schizophrenia that provoked them to violence against family members or strangers.

A couple of years ago, Jackie was telling me about a patient. In passing, she said something like, Of course he’d been smoking pot his whole life.

Of course? I said.

Yes, they all smoke.

So marijuana causes schizophrenia?

I was surprised, to say the least. I tended to be a libertarian on drugs. Years before, I’d covered the pharmaceutical industry for The New York Times. I was aware of the claims about marijuana as medicine, and I’d watched the slow spread of legalized cannabis without much interest.

Jackie would have been within her rights to say, I know what I’m talking about, unlike you. Instead she offered something neutral like, I think that’s what the big studies say. You should read them.

So I did. The big studies, the little ones, and all the rest. I read everything I could find. I talked to every psychiatrist and brain scientist who would talk to me. And I soon realized that in all my years as a journalist I had never seen a story where the gap between insider and outsider knowledge was so great, or the stakes so high.

I began to wonder why—with the stocks of cannabis companies soaring and politicians promoting legalization as a low-risk way to raise tax revenue and reduce crime—I had never heard the truth about marijuana, mental illness, and violence.

Over the last 30 years, psychiatrists and epidemiologists have turned speculation about marijuana’s dangers into science. Yet over the same period, a shrewd and expensive lobbying campaign has pushed public attitudes about marijuana the other way. And the effects are now becoming apparent.

Almost everything you think you know about the health effects of cannabis, almost everything advocates and the media have told you for a generation, is wrong.

They’ve told you marijuana has many different medical uses. In reality marijuana and THC, its active ingredient, have been shown to work only in a few narrow conditions. They are most commonly prescribed for pain relief. But they are rarely tested against other pain relief drugs like ibuprofen—and in July, a large four-year study of patients with chronic pain in Australia showed cannabis use was associated with greater pain over time.

They’ve told you cannabis can stem opioid use—“Two new studies show how marijuana can help fight the opioid epidemic,” according to Wonkblog, a Washington Post website, in April 2018— and that marijuana’s effects as a painkiller make it a potential substitute for opiates. In reality, like alcohol, marijuana is too weak as a painkiller to work for most people who truly need opiates, such as terminal cancer patients. Even cannabis advocates, like Rob Kampia, the co-founder of the Marijuana Policy Project, acknowledge that they have always viewed medical marijuana laws primarily as a way to protect recreational users.

As for the marijuana-reduces-opiate-use theory, it is based largely on a single paper comparing overdose deaths by state before 2010 to the spread of medical marijuana laws— and the paper’s finding is probably a result of simple geographic coincidence. The opiate epidemic began in Appalachia, while the first states to legalize medical marijuana were in the West. Since 2010, as both the epidemic and medical marijuana laws have spread nationally, the finding has vanished. And the United States, the Western country with the most cannabis use, also has by far the worst problem with opioids.

Research on individual users—a better way to trace cause and effect than looking at aggregate state-level data—consistently shows that marijuana use leads to other drug use. For example, a January 2018 paper in the American Journal of Psychiatry showed that people who used cannabis in 2001 were almost three times as likely to use opiates three years later, even after adjusting for other potential risks.

Most of all, advocates have told you that marijuana is not just safe for people with psychiatric problems like depression, but that it is a potential treatment for those patients. On its website, the cannabis delivery service Eaze offers the “Best Marijuana Strains and Products for Treating Anxiety.” “How Does Cannabis Help Depression?” is the topic of an article on Leafly, the largest cannabis website. But a mountain of peer-reviewed research in top medical journals shows that marijuana can cause or worsen severe mental illness, especially psychosis, the medical term for a break from reality. Teenagers who smoke marijuana regularly are about three times as likely to develop schizophrenia, the most devastating psychotic disorder.

After an exhaustive review, the National Academy of Medicine found in 2017 that “cannabis use is likely to increase the risk of developing schizophrenia and other psychoses; the higher the use, the greater the risk.” Also that “regular cannabis use is likely to increase the risk for developing social anxiety disorder.”

Over the past decade, as legalization has spread, patterns of marijuana use—and the drug itself—have changed in dangerous ways.

Legalization has not led to a huge increase in people using the drug casually. About 15 percent of Americans used cannabis at least once in 2017, up from ten percent in 2006, according to a large federal study called the National Survey on Drug Use and Health. (By contrast, about 65 percent of Americans had a drink in the last year.) But the number of Americans who use cannabis heavily is soaring. In 2006, about three million Americans reported using cannabis at least 300 times a year, the standard for daily use. By 2017, that number had nearly tripled, to eight million, approaching the twelve million Americans who drank alcohol every day. Put another way, one in 15 drinkers consumed alcohol daily; about one in five marijuana users used cannabis that often.

Cannabis users today are also consuming a drug that is far more potent than ever before, as measured by the amount of THC—delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, the chemical in cannabis responsible for its psychoactive effects—it contains. In the 1970s, the last time this many Americans used cannabis, most marijuana contained less than two percent THC. Today, marijuana routinely contains 20 to 25 percent THC, thanks to sophisticated farming and cloning techniques—as well as to a demand by users for cannabis that produces a stronger high more quickly. In states where cannabis is legal, many users prefer extracts that are nearly pure THC. Think of the difference between near-beer and a martini, or even grain alcohol, to understand the difference.

These new patterns of use have caused problems with the drug to soar. In 2014, people who had diagnosable cannabis use disorder, the medical term for marijuana abuse or addiction, made up about 1.5 percent of Americans. But they accounted for eleven percent of all the psychosis cases in emergency rooms—90,000 cases, 250 a day, triple the number in 2006. In states like Colorado, emergency room physicians have become experts on dealing with cannabis-induced psychosis.

Cannabis advocates often argue that the drug can’t be as neurotoxic as studies suggest, because otherwise Western countries would have seen population-wide increases in psychosis alongside rising use. In reality, accurately tracking psychosis cases is impossible in the United States. The government carefully tracks diseases like cancer with central registries, but no such registry exists for schizophrenia or other severe mental illnesses.

On the other hand, research from Finland and Denmark, two countries that track mental illness more comprehensively, shows a significant increase in psychosis since 2000, following an increase in cannabis use. And in September of last year, a large federal survey found a rise in serious mental illness in the United States as well, especially among young adults, the heaviest users of cannabis.

According to this latter study, 7.5 percent of adults age 18-25 met the criteria for serious mental illness in 2017, double the rate in 2008. What’s especially striking is that adolescents age 12-17 don’t show these increases in cannabis use and severe mental illness.

A caveat: this federal survey doesn’t count individual cases, and it lumps psychosis with other severe mental illness. So it isn’t as accurate as the Finnish or Danish studies. Nor do any of these studies prove that rising cannabis use has caused population-wide increases in psychosis or other mental illness. The most that can be said is that they offer intriguing evidence of a link.

Advocates for people with mental illness do not like discussing the link between schizophrenia and crime. They fear it will stigmatize people with the disease. “Most people with mental illness are not violent,” the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) explains on its website. But wishing away the link can’t make it disappear. In truth, psychosis is a shockingly high risk factor for violence. The best analysis came in a 2009 paper in PLOS Medicine by Dr. Seena Fazel, an Oxford University psychiatrist and epidemiologist. Drawing on earlier studies, the paper found that people with schizophrenia are five times as likely to commit violent crimes as healthy people, and almost 20 times as likely to commit homicide.

NAMI’s statement that most people with mental illness are not violent is of course accurate, given that “most” simply means “more than half”; but it is deeply misleading. Schizophrenia is rare. But people with the disorder commit an appreciable fraction of all murders, in the range of six to nine percent.

“The best way to deal with the stigma is to reduce the violence,” says Dr. Sheilagh Hodgins, a professor at the University of Montreal who has studied mental illness and violence for more than 30 years.

The marijuana-psychosis-violence connection is even stronger than those figures suggest. People with schizophrenia are only moderately more likely to become violent than healthy people when they are taking antipsychotic medicine and avoiding recreational drugs. But when they use drugs, their risk of violence skyrockets. “You don’t just have an increased risk of one thing—these things occur in clusters,” Dr. Fazel told me.

Along with alcohol, the drug that psychotic patients use more than any other is cannabis: a 2010 review of earlier studies in Schizophrenia Bulletin found that 27 percent of people with schizophrenia had been diagnosed with cannabis use disorder in their lives. And unfortunately—despite its reputation for making users relaxed and calm—cannabis appears to provoke many of them to violence.

A Swiss study of 265 psychotic patients published in Frontiers of Forensic Psychiatry last June found that over a three-year period, young men with psychosis who used cannabis had a 50 percent chance of becoming violent. That risk was four times higher than for those with psychosis who didn’t use, even after adjusting for factors such as alcohol use. Other researchers have produced similar findings. A 2013 paper in an Italian psychiatric journal examined almost 1,600 psychiatric patients in southern Italy and found that cannabis use was associated with a ten-fold increase in violence.

The most obvious way that cannabis fuels violence in psychotic people is through its tendency to cause paranoia—something even cannabis advocates acknowledge the drug can cause. The risk is so obvious that users joke about it and dispensaries advertise certain strains as less likely to induce paranoia. And for people with psychotic disorders, paranoia can fuel extreme violence. A 2007 paper in the Medical Journal of Australia on 88 defendants who had committed homicide during psychotic episodes found that most believed they were in danger from the victim, and almost two-thirds reported misusing cannabis—more than alcohol and amphetamines combined.

Yet the link between marijuana and violence doesn’t appear limited to people with preexisting psychosis. Researchers have studied alcohol and violence for generations, proving that alcohol is a risk factor for domestic abuse, assault, and even murder. Far less work has been done on marijuana, in part because advocates have stigmatized anyone who raises the issue. But studies showing that marijuana use is a significant risk factor for violence have quietly piled up. Many of them weren’t even designed to catch the link, but they did. Dozens of such studies exist, covering everything from bullying by high school students to fighting among vacationers in Spain.

In most cases, studies find that the risk is at least as significant as with alcohol. A 2012 paper in the Journal of Interpersonal Violence examined a federal survey of more than 9,000 adolescents and found that marijuana use was associated with a doubling of domestic violence; a 2017 paper in Social Psychiatry and Psychiatric Epidemiology examined drivers of violence among 6,000 British and Chinese men and found that drug use—the drug nearly always being cannabis—translated into a five-fold increase in violence.

Today that risk is translating into real-world impacts. Before states legalized recreational cannabis, advocates said that legalization would let police focus on hardened criminals rather than marijuana smokers and thus reduce violent crime. Some advocates go so far as to claim that legalization has reduced violent crime. In a 2017 speech calling for federal legalization, U.S. Senator Cory Booker said that “states [that have legalized marijuana] are seeing decreases in violent crime.” He was wrong.

The first four states to legalize marijuana for recreational use were Colorado and Washington in 2014 and Alaska and Oregon in 2015. Combined, those four states had about 450 murders and 30,300 aggravated assaults in 2013. Last year, they had almost 620 murders and 38,000 aggravated assaults—an increase of 37 percent for murders and 25 percent for aggravated assaults, far greater than the national increase, even after accounting for differences in population growth.

Knowing exactly how much of the increase is related to cannabis is impossible without researching every crime. But police reports, news stories, and arrest warrants suggest a close link in many cases. For example, last September, police in Longmont, Colorado, arrested Daniel Lopez for stabbing his brother Thomas to death as a neighbor watched. Daniel Lopez had been diagnosed with schizophrenia and was “self-medicating” with marijuana, according to an arrest affidavit.

In every state, not just those where marijuana is legal, cases like Lopez’s are far more common than either cannabis or mental illness advocates acknowledge. Cannabis is also associated with a disturbing number of child deaths from abuse and neglect—many more than alcohol, and more than cocaine, methamphetamines, and opioids combined—according to reports from Texas, one of the few states to provide detailed information on drug use by perpetrators.

These crimes rarely receive more than local attention. Psychosis-induced violence takes particularly ugly forms and is frequently directed at helpless family members. The elite national media prefers to ignore the crimes as tabloid fodder. Even police departments, which see this violence up close, have been slow to recognize the trend, in part because the epidemic of opioid overdose deaths has overwhelmed them.

So the black tide of psychosis and the red tide of violence are rising steadily, almost unnoticed, on a slow green wave.

For centuries, people worldwide have understood that cannabis causes mental illness and violence—just as they’ve known that opiates cause addiction and overdose. Hard data on the relationship between marijuana and madness dates back 150 years, to British asylum registers in India. Yet 20 years ago, the United States moved to encourage wider use of cannabis and opiates.

In both cases, we decided we could outsmart these drugs—that we could have their benefits without their costs. And in both cases we were wrong. Opiates are riskier, and the overdose deaths they cause a more imminent crisis, so we have focused on those. But soon enough the mental illness and violence that follow cannabis use will also be too widespread to ignore.

Whether to use cannabis, or any drug, is a personal decision. Whether cannabis should be legal is a political issue. But its precise legal status is far less important than making sure that anyone who uses it is aware of its risks. Most cigarette smokers don’t die of lung cancer. But we have made it widely known that cigarettes cause cancer, full stop. Most people who drink and drive don’t have fatal accidents. But we have highlighted the cases of those who do.

We need equally unambiguous and well-funded advertising campaigns on the risks of cannabis. Instead, we are now in the worst of all worlds. Marijuana is legal in some states, illegal in others, dangerously potent, and sold without warnings everywhere.

But before we can do anything, we—especially cannabis advocates and those in the elite media who have for too long credulously accepted their claims—need to come to terms with the truth about the science on marijuana. That adjustment may be painful. But the alternative is far worse, as the patients at Mid-Hudson Forensic Psychiatric Institute—and their victims—know.

VIDEOS: A half-century of Democrat rule has foisted unmitigated havoc on the inner city

After America being led for eight years by its first black president, here are a few headlines about the deplorable state of affairs in our inner cities near the end of Barack Obama’s second term:

Black pastors endorse Trump: “What do black folks have to lose?”

Despite $22 trillion spent on anti-poverty programs since the 1960s, millions of people in urban America are surrounded by crime and mired in chronic poverty. When the decent people of the inner city finally realize what six decades of liberalism has done to them, Democrats will be faced with a massive defection of black voters.

If you think things aren’t all that bad in America’s Democrat-run cities, the jobless black men in the 2014 videos below will tell you who the real racists are.

The Black Roots of Identity Politics

Identity politics began with the the 1977 publication of the Combahee River Collective Statement. The statement was written by “black feminists” with this goal:

Above all else, Our politics initially sprang from the shared belief that Black women are inherently valuable, that our liberation is a necessity not as an adjunct to somebody else’s may because of our need as human persons for autonomy.

The Combahee River Collective Statement reads:

We realize that the liberation of all oppressed peoples necessitates the destruction of the political-economic systems of capitalism and imperialism as well as patriarchy. We are socialists because we believe that work must be organized for the collective benefit of those who do the work and create the products, and not for the profit of the bosses. [Emphasis added]

Merriam-Webster defines identity politics as:

politics in which groups of people having a particular racial, religious, ethnic, social, or cultural identity tend to promote their own specific interests or concerns without regard to the interests or concerns of any larger political group.

The Democratic Party has fully embraced identity politics in all of its forms.

Those who embrace identity politics are fickle and can, and many times do, either turn against one another or their political party. We are seeing this happen since the 2016 Presidential election.

My Way or the Highway

My way or the highway is a predominantly American idiom that dates back to the 1970s. It is an ultimatum like “take it or leave it.” You’re either with me or against me.

Identity politics is tearing the Democratic Party apart.

Identity politics died on November 8th, 2016 according to the Left Voice’s Albert L. Terry III. In his column A Few Words on Marxism and Identity Politics Terry wrote:

The year 2016 will be remembered as the year that identity politics, as it is commonly understood, began the long descent into irrelevancy. The first Black President that saw conditions grow worse for Black Americans and Clinton’s corporate identity politics saw electoral defeat. We must build a Marxist identity politics, which recognizes the special oppression that comes with race and the consequent importance of fighting racism head-on. [Emphasis added]

Terry says identity politics is irrelevant but believes that only Marxism will help restore identity politics to its glory. What Terry wrote on January 8, 2017 is coming true today in the Democratic Party.

The Black Rot that has Infected Identity Politics

The key question: What are the outcomes of the effort to “liberate” the black feminists.

According to according to a new Pew Research Center analysis of U.S. Census Bureau data:

The share of U.S. children living with an unmarried parent has more than doubled since 1968, jumping from 13% to 32% in 2017. That trend has been accompanied by a drop in the share of children living with two married parents, down from 85% in 1968 to 65%. Some 3% of children are not living with any parents.

The Pew report notes:

More than half (58%) of black children are living with an unmarried parent – 47% with a solo mom. At the same time, 36% of Hispanic children are living with an unmarried parent, as are 24% of white children. The share of Asian children living with unmarried parents is markedly lower (13%).

The primary outcome of this socialist/black feminist/identity politics is the destruction of the nuclear family.

Socialism, true to form, equally shares the life long misery of single parenthood. We are now in a time when there is no real liberation, rather there is government patriarchy in the form of welfare programs. Welfare is dependence and not freedom. Only jobs, created by capitalists, and a Constitutional Republican form of government can defeat imperialism.

The single parent family is neither valuable nor autonomous, rather it is dependent on government largess.

The black roots of identity politics has infected the entire family tree, which is now rotten to its core.

INTEL REPORT: Israel-Lebanon, Israel-Egypt-Hamas, Japan-America

ISRAEL-LEBANON

Last week we reported that the Foreign Minister of Bahrain, Shaykh Khaled bin Ahmad bin Muhammad Aal Khalifa, tweeted that Israel has a right to defend itself, in response to the flap over the two Israeli drones that violated Lebanon’s airspace, one of which carried explosives and took out an Hizbollah office in south Beirut.  In this context, the Bahraini FM stressed that since Iran “has declared war against all of us,” implying that any attack against any of their IRGC entities, their Lebanese Hizbollah, their “popular mobilization” militias in Iraq, or their Houthi arm in Yemen, constitutes “self defense.”

This week, according to www.al-jazeera.net, the Bahraini FM has doubled down by directly accusing Hizbollah of escalating the situation by attacking Israel (in reference to Hizbollah’s taking out an Israeli military vehicle this weekend).  Then he took it a step further by accusing the Lebanese government itself of being complicit in the escalation.  This would stem from the fact that the “Lebanese government” (which includes Sunni and Christian members) is essentially hostage to Hizbollah).

Therefore, according to the Bahraini FM’s reasoning, the Lebanese government is responsible and “any aggression by one state against another is forbidden by International Law” and is subjecting its citizens to the subsequent danger.

The Foreign Ministry of Bahrain then issued a formal statement ordering all of its citizens in Lebanon to leave immediately.

The above statements by the Bahraini FM were also reported on the Saudi-owned www.al-arabiyya TV, a day later.

ISRAEL-EGYPT-HAMAS

Israel sharing sensitive Counter-Terrorism (CT) intelligence with its arch enemy, the terrorist entity of Hamas?  Ridiculous!  Or is it?  According to an article published by

al-Monitor, a Washington, DC-based news entity founded by a Christian Arab-American from Lebanon/Syria, that is exactly what is happening.  The author of this al-Monitor article is one Shlomi Eldar, an Israel-based journalist who for the past two decades has covered the Palestinian Authority and Gaza for Israel’s TV channels 1 and 10.

Here is how this has come about:  Israel and Egypt have been sharing intelligence information for several years.  At first this intelligence information included CT on Hamas, which both countries considered to be a terrorist group.  Egypt had declared the Muslim Brotherhood to be a terrorist group in 2013 with former General as-Sisi assuming the presidency of Egypt’s nominally civilian government.  Since Hamas was founded as the Palestinian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB), Hamas was automatically included in that designation.

Furthermore, Egypt has been having trouble with Hamas in terms of cross-border smuggling of weapons, drugs, and jihadis.  As a part of this Egypt-Hamas contention Egypt had closed its border with Gaza and joined with Israel in enforcing an embargo on it.  Egypt had also accused Hamas of aiding the anti-government protests and terrorist activities in Egypt’s Sinai.

So, what gives?  What led to both Egypt and Israel altering their positions on Hamas? Or vice-versa?

For one thing, according to Mr. Eldar, Hamas has been moving closer to Egypt in order the get the embargo eased.  Egypt, for its part is wanting to woo Hamas to get its aid and cooperation vis-à-vis the ongoing CT war in the Sinai, and beyond that, to entice it on board a possible future pan-Palestinian peace deal with Israel.

However, as Hamas has moved closer to Egypt, including pretending to disassociate itself from the mother ship, the MB, in order to please Egypt, a note-worthy splinter group has declared Hamas to be a “traitor” to the “Arab-Islamic-Palestinian” cause and has begun conducting car bombings and other terrorist acts against the terrorist group Hamas!

The name of this splinter group is bayt al-miqdis, which in Arabic means “The House of Holiness” and is a name for Jerusalem.  This term also refers to an Islamic prophecy contained in the ahadeeth referring to a massive Islamic army that will march out from Khorusan (an area in SW and central Asia including Afghanistan and parts of Iran, Pakistan and other Central Asian countries).  This army, it is said, will bear the “black banners” and will reconquer bayt al-miqdis for the Muslims.  Most Palestinians believe that when this Latter Day army reaches their region that they will become the vanguard, the spearhead, of this army as it destroys Israel and takes over Jerusalem.

Hamas, consequently, fears that this bayt al-miqdis organization will out recruit it and become a major threat to its hold on power in Gaza.  Thus its acceptance of CT intel from Israel, the very entity it has vowed to destroy.  But, of course, it can’t admit to itself that it is doing so.  This is where Egypt enters the equation according to Mr. Eldar.  This bayt

al-miqdis group is the primary group causing Egypt headaches in the Sinai, and so, as Hamas has recently moved closer to Egypt, it and Egypt are now sharing CT intelligence on bayt al-miqdis and “inadvertently” as Hamas accepts CT intel from Egypt among that CT intel is intel Israel has provided to Egypt.  Egypt, for its part, passes along Israeli CT only that intel agreed upon by Israel.  “The very essence of a paradox” says Mr. Eldar. “The relationship between Israel and Hamas is tangled and complex, with all sorts of remarkable twists and turns.

This paradox also underscores two age-old adages:  “The enemy of my enemy is my friend” (at least temporarily), and “politics makes for strange bedfellows.”  Frankly, Egypt, Israel, and Hamas all in bed together is about as strange as it can get.  Welcome to the modern Middle East.

JAPAN-AFRICA

Over the weekend, and immediately after the G-7 meeting in France, Japan hosted the Japan-Africa conference.  Egyptian talk-show host ‘Amru Adeeb reported on this conference for his al-hakaya (The Story) show as a vehicle for boasting about Egypt’s importance.  Mr. Adeeb first beamed with pride over President as-Sisi’s hobnobbing with the world leaders of the planet’s major powers, then flying directly to Japan to represent the entire continent of Africa as this year’s president of the Organization of African States.

According to Mr. Adeeb, Japan has pledged to invest some $20 billion U.S. in Africa, in hopes of competing with China for Africa’s allegiance.

Democrats go full Marxist: Officially embrace the “religiously unaffiliated”

Democrats are now officially the party of the nonbelievers. Merriam-Webster defines a nonbeliever as “especially an atheist.”

How did this happen?

Karl Marx wrote in Critique of Hegel’s Philosophy of Right:

Religious distress is at the same time the expression of real distress and the protest against real distress. Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, just as it is the spirit of a spiritless situation. It is the opium of the people. The abolition of religion as the illusory happiness of the people is required for their real happiness. The demand to give up the illusion about its condition is the demand to give up a condition which needs illusions.

Democrats Come Full Circle on Going Godless

Remember that during the 2012 Democratic National Convention delegates opposed adding language on God and Israel’s capital to their platform. Watch this Fox News report:

On January 30, 2019 The Epoch Times  reported that a key House of Representatives committee has voted to remove the phrase “so help you God” in an oath used in its proceedings. Watch:

In a press release the Secular Coalition for America notes:

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) this past Saturday embraced American nonbelievers for the first time, adopting a resolution that recognizes their contributions to society and to the Democratic Party.

This move by the DNC, which was unanimous absent one abstention, demonstrates that they are living up to the big-tent inclusive values they regularly espouse, though it also shows they recognize the value of courting the largest, fastest growing religious demographic in the nation.  It was first passed in the DNC’s Resolutions Committee on Thursday [August 26, 2019]. [Emphasis added]

DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL COMMITTEE: Resolution Regarding the Religiously Unaffiliated Demographic states:

WHEREAS, nonreligious Americans made up 17% of the electorate in 2018 and have the potential to deliver millions more votes for Democrats in 2020 with targeted outreach to further increase turnout of nonreligious voters; and

WHEREAS, a record number of openly nonreligious candidates are running for public office;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL COMMITTEE recognizes:

1. The value, ethical soundness, and importance of the religiously unaffiliated demographic, a group of Americans who contribute in innumerable ways to the arts, sciences, medicine, business, law, the military, their communities, the success
of the Party and prosperity of the Nation; and

2. That religiously unaffiliated Americans are a group that, as much as any other, advocates for rational public policy based on sound science and universal humanistic values and should be represented, included, and heard by the Party.

Conclusion

The Democratic Party is no longer the party of Thomas Jefferson. It is now the party of Karl Marx.

Thomas Jefferson the founder of the Democratic Party wrote:

“Under the law of nature [God], all men are born free, every one comes into the world with a right to his own person, which includes the liberty of moving and using it at his own will. This is what is called personal liberty, and is given him by the author of nature [God], because necessary for his own sustenance.”

The Democratic Party may have just signed its own death warrant.

According to Pew Research Center’s data on Religion & Public Life the five largest religious groups that are Democrat/lean Democrat are:

  1. Historically Black Protestant – 80%
  2. Buddhist – 69%
  3. Jewish  – 64%
  4. Muslim – 62%
  5. Hindu – 61%

Affiliated (religious “nones”) are 54%.

The denial of God, in order to garner votes and create a Socialist/Marxist state, is now the official policy of the Democratic National Committee. What is most interesting is that Muslims (62% of Democrat/lean Democrat) can never accept religious “nones.”

You can’t make this stuff up. We have truly entered the Democratic theatre of the absurd.
