Ninth Circuit Court Rules Border Wall Must Be ‘Short Enough That A Pregnant Woman Carrying A Child In Each Arm Could Be Expected To Scale It Without Difficulty’

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Amid heated debate in Washington over President Trump’s border wall, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has weighed in, ruling that construction on the U.S.-Mexico border wall can proceed, so long as it is “short enough that a pregnant woman carrying a child in each arm could be expected to scale it without difficulty.”

While that definition may seem vague to some, the Ninth Circuit’s judges further clarified in their decision that “two or three feet high ought to suffice.” Contractors working on the wall have been ordered to have a pregnant woman and several children on hand. Each family will be asked to stress-test climbing over the wall every ten feet to ensure all portions of the barrier are equally easy to scale. Should the sample woman have to exert herself too much, construction workers will have to lower that part of the wall.

“We are in full support of President Trump’s right to secure our nation’s borders, so long as his actions do not cause undue burden on those trying to get into our country illegally,” the court wrote in its decision.

The Court further assured Americans that its decision is in keeping with the Constitution, claiming that they googled “What is the Constitution?” and “Constitutional Law for Dummies” several times during deliberations.

Bloomberg: Unacceptable Presidential Candidate — An unapologetic advocate for open borders.

New York City’s former Mayor Mike Bloomberg has announced his candidacy for the Presidency. Not unlike virtually all candidates for elected office, he has promised to help create jobs and improve opportunities for Americans.

However, as my mom used to say, “Talk is cheap” and his open-borders advocacy is inconsistent with the best interests of our nation and our fellow Americans.

Immigration is not a single issue but a singular issue that profoundly impacts nearly every challenge and threat that confronts America and Americans. The critical question therefore, is “Where does Mike Bloomberg stand on immigration?”

As it turns out, Mike Bloomberg is an unapologetic advocate for open borders. This is no surprise. After all, when he was the Big Apple’s mayor he was a strong supporter of New York City’s “sanctuary” policies that shield illegal aliens from detection from ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement).

So while Bloomberg has promised to help create new jobs, in fact he does not care who actually gets those jobs. I have often made the point that while it is good to create jobs, liberating jobs is a quicker and cheaper way to provide jobs for American and lawful immigrant workers. (Jobs are liberated when illegal aliens are removed from the jobs that they illegally take.) This is one of many missions for ICE, an agency that has come to be reviled by the globalist, open-borders immigration anarchists such as Mike.

In fact, it would appear that Mike Bloomberg would be happy if illegal aliens get those jobs and not American workers, as a means of suppressing wages.

Although Bloomberg has reportedly amassed $50 billion, making him one of the very wealthiest people on earth, in a recent interview he actually publicly stated that golf courses could not survive if they had to pay more for grass cutters, thereby acknowledging that while we are frequently told that illegal aliens do the work Americans won’t do, in reality Americans would gladly do those jobs, but for a living wage under lawful working conditions.

For Mike, screwing Americans out of jobs and wages is preferable to suffering a “hardship” that he and his super-wealthy friends would suffer if they had to pay more for their greens fees on golf courses and their country club memberships!

If you think I am making this up, the November 10, 2019 Irish Central article, “Mike Bloomberg outspoken on the Irish and the huge benefits of immigration” provides the strongest possible argument against Bloomberg’s presidential aspirations.

In that article he not only addressed the wonders of cheap labor but carefully blurred the essential distinction between illegal immigration from lawful immigration.

To provide a bit of much-needed clarity, the difference between an immigrant and an illegal alien is comparable to the difference between a houseguest and a burglar.

Here is an excerpt from that article:

On immigration, a hot topic back then, he was adamant that hardworking immigrants help.

“We should open the borders, not close them. And you need to open them in tough times more than you need to open them in good times. And government has to lead, and I don’t think most of our leaders are willing to do that.

What nobody quite understands about the undocumented, and I think it’s true no matter where they come from, all the conventional wisdoms of Lou Dobbs — who has done an enormous amount of damage to this country – the undocumented have very low (rates of) crime. Why? Because they don’t want to go near the government.

“Undocumented pay taxes. Why? Because their company deducts and there’s no place to send the refund. Undocumented don’t use our schools very much. They tend to be young people coming here who don’t go and have families. They tend to send money back home.

“Undocumented don’t use our hospitals much. Why? Because most of us use three-quarters of our medical expenses in the last three years of our life, and these are young people who come here. And the argument that undocumented take jobs away from Americans is just not true. You cannot get Americans generally to do these jobs.

“Now you can say wait a minute and pay them more, but if you did that, yes, more Americans would take them, but the organizations couldn’t survive. Golf courses can’t survive if they have high-cost grass cutters. To answer your question on what do you do, it’s the elected officials (who must act).”

We must begin by making the distinction that Bloomberg and the other open-borders advocates refuse to make: the one between lawful immigrants and illegal aliens.

I addressed that bit of linguistic sleight-of-tongue in my article, “Language Wars: The Road to Tyranny Is Paved with Language Censorship.”

On June 13th of this year I was a guest on Fox & Friends First and ended my interview by asking cohosts Jillian and Rob if they would be willing to board an airliner if they saw some of the passengers on their flight sneaking past the TSA inspectors. They reacted as I expected them to, so I then asked, “Why then are we being forced to live among millions of people who snuck past a similar vetting process conducted at ports of entry?”

America is indeed a “nation of immigrants”; however, it is not a “nation of trespassers”!

In the article Bloomberg made a number of assertions that are utterly bogus.

While it is true that lawful immigrants are among the most law-abiding segment of our nation, illegal aliens are the most crime-prone individuals. I addressed this incontrovertible fact in my earlier article which I urge you to read in its entirety, “Illegal Immigration And Crime.”

New York City’s schools are prohibited from asking students about their immigration status so there is no easy way to determine the immigration status of these students; however, each year increasing amounts of money in the Board of Education budget are allocated to providing ESL (English as a Second Language) training. This would certainly seem to suggest that many of the students in our public schools are aliens. Furthermore, so-called “sanctuary” policies attract illegal aliens.

Additionally, New York State now provides illegal aliens with driver’s licenses, which not only serves as a magnet to attract increasing numbers of illegal aliens but also undermines national security and public safety. I laid out my concerns on this lunacy in my article, “New York Will Provide Illegal Aliens With Driver’s Licenses,” in which I rhetorically asked, “Where is Gov. Cuomo’s MVP Award from terrorists?”

Make no mistake, “Sanctuary Cities Protect Crooked Employers And Human Traffickers.”

The real question that Bloomberg and all candidates for the Presidency and other elected offices on all levels of government should be asked is, “Have you read, in their entirety, the The 9/11 Commission Report and the companion report 9/11 and  Terrorist Travel?

As a follow-up, Bloomberg and the other candidates should be asked how their abhorrence for secure borders and fair but effective immigration law enforcement as evidenced in their statements square with the findings and recommendations of the 9/11 Commission.

Those reports made it clear that terror attacks, and not only the attacks of 9/11, were only possible because of multiple failures of the immigration system — a system Bloomberg is determined to undermine and obstruct in order to achieve his globalist agenda.

Bronx: Muslim migrant plotted to behead people with chainsaw, amassed large stash of weapons

Yeah, that explains it. Doesn’t everyone who struggles to fit in as a child stockpile weapons and try to join a terrorist group?

An ISIS fanatic who was dubbed ‘The Dentist’ and hoped to behead people with a pocket chainsaw has been jailed for 22 years after a judge branded him a ‘ticking time bomb’.

Sajmir Alimehmeti, 26, who lived in an apartment in the Bronx, was sentenced by US district judge Paul Englemayer, who listed the terrifying stash of weapons he amassed.

They included a military-grade survival knife with a five-inch blade, three tactical knives with four-inch blades, two credit-card-sized folding knives, a commando wire pocket saw, a 24-inch pocket chainsaw, a rucksack designed for tactical combat, a tactical ski mask and handcuffs.

Judge Englemayer said it was impossible to conceive of a ‘benign reason’ for Alimehmeti to ‘stockpile weapons that would be used to restrain, gut, or decapitate a human body’, according to the New York Post.

Alimehmeti reportedly used coded language when referring to places he wanted to travel to ‘brush his teeth’.

Prosecutors also said that he claimed he watched ISIS beheading videos to keep himself motivated while exercising.

He allegedly initially tried to travel to the Middle East to join ISIS twice in 2014 but was stopped by British authorities both times.

He is accused of being stopped at Manchester Airport in October 2014 when security found nunchucks and camouflage clothing in his luggage.

And he is accused of trying to get to the Middle East again in December that year but was stopped by security at Heathrow Airport in London when they found images of ISIS fighters and improvised explosive devices on his cellphone….

Defense attorney Susan Kellman said Alimehmeti had struggled to fit in after moving to the US aged six from Albania.

She claimed he was radicalized as a teenager during a stint for robbery in the Fishkill Correctional Facility by Mohamed Mamdouh, one of the masterminds behind a foiled plot to blow up a Manhattan synagogue in 2011.

In addition to 22 years in prison, Alimehmeti also was sentenced to five years supervised release.

Terror Attack At Naval Air Station Highlights Immigration Catastrophe

Limitations in the vetting process endanger national security.

The nearly all-consuming fixation on the lack of border security along the U.S./Mexican border ignore the many other elements of what should be a cohesive and coordinated immigration system.

Contrary to the claims made by the open borders, immigration anarchists, the purpose of the border wall is not to prevent the entry of aliens and/or cargo into the United States, but to make certain that all who enter the United States are properly vetted and records of their entry are created.

However, not enough attention is paid to the vetting process itself upon which the integrity of the immigration system depends.

The issue of border security must include the process by which visas are issued and by which aliens are screened at ports of entry.

The great majority of foreign terrorists who have attacked our nation have actually entered the United States through ports of entry either with visas that were obtained by concealing the backgrounds and true identities of the aliens in question, or by making bogus claims to political asylum, getting released and then disappearing.

The issue of the vetting of aliens has made it to the front page of newspapers and the “A block” of television news program because of the deadly shooting at the Pensacola Air Naval Station by a 21 year old member of the Saudi military, Mohammed Saeed Alshamrani, a second lieutenant in the Saudi Air Force as reported in the New York Times on December 6, 2019, Trainee on Military Base Mounts Deadly Attack.

It has been reported that Alshamrani had posted virulently anti-American remarks in social media.  The immediate obvious question is whether or not the vetting process including appropriate searches of social media accounts that might have disclosed his hatred of America before he was granted his visa.

The ability to effectively vet applicants is limited.  Searches delve into possible criminal histories, but when applicants have no criminal histories and no known ties to criminal or terrorist organizations, such vetting process may fail.

Apparently there are two purposes behind the training of foreign pilots by the U.S. military: to protect U.S. national security interests and encourage the sale of military aircraft and other equipment by U.S. military suppliers.

Justifiably, a number of political leaders, and other have called for the suspension of this program so that the vetting process can be evaluated.  To this point, on December 8, 2019 the New York Post reported, Lindsey Graham wants training program suspended after Pensacola shooting.

That report included this excerpt:

US Rep. Matt Gaetz, a Florida Republican who represents the base, said on ABC’s “This Week” that the incident “has to inform our ongoing relationship with Saudi Arabia.”

“We should not be taking new incoming Saudi students until we’re absolutely confident in our vetting process,” Gaetz said.

There are currently more than 850 Saudis in the US for various training activities — among about 5,000 foreigners from 153 countries in the country undergoing some form of military training.

There has been a string of incidents that include foreign military students going missing in the United States in the past. There have also been worrying reports about foreign students enrolled in other U.S. schools going missing, including some who are citizens of countries that have a nexus to terrorism.  Yet with only about 6,000 ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) agents for the entire United States and with more than half of them engaged in the investigation of non-immigration issues, there are precious few agents available to enforce the immigration laws.  “Sanctuary” policies of a growing number of cities and states exacerbate the crisis.

One of the most astonishing incidents involving a failure of the vetting process occurred six months after the terror attacks of September 11, 2001 when it was discovered that two of the dead terrorists had been granted authorization to attend a civilian flight school in March 2002, six months after they participated in the terror attacks of 9/11.

On March 19, 2001 the House Subcommittee on Immigration and Claims conducted a hearing into that fiasco on the topic, INS’s March 2002 Notification Of Approval Of Change Of Status For Pilot Training For Terrorist Hijackers Mohammed Atta And Marwan Al-Shehhi.  The video of that hearing is worth watching.

I was called as an expert witness at that hearing.

For all of the beast-beating and complaints of the members of that subcommittee and other members of congress, measures to prevent such failures have been outweighed by the demands of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and a veritable laundry list of corporations and special interest groups that our immigration laws not be enforced and our borders be allowed to remain wide open by those who know the price of everything and the value of nothing- even when lives and national security are on the line!

Today we are focused on aliens being given the best possible military flight training in America’s latest fighter planes.  The possibilities of what such a highly-trained pilot could do in the seat of such as aircraft is mind-numbing.

In the wake of the shooting at the Pensacola Air Naval Station information had been circulated that the alleged shooter had visited New York City days before the attack, possibly in the company of other classmates.  This immediately gave rise the concern that he, and possibly others, might have been scoping out potential targets for terror attacks.

The mainstream media, in a moment of rare candor raised that possibility.  Yet no one had thought to a Department of Justice press release published just days earlier.

On December 3, 2019 the DOJ reported, Hizballah Operative Sentenced to 40 Years in Prison for Covert Terrorist Activities on Behalf of Hizballah’s Islamic Jihad Organization; Ali Kourani Was Trained by Hizballah’s External Terrorist Operations Component and Gathered Intelligence in New York City in Support of Attack-Planning Efforts.

You will notice in this excerpt from the earlier DOJ press release that announced Kourani’s  conviction that immigration law violations were among the crimes that he committed:

Yesterday, a jury returned a guilty verdict against Ali Kourani, a.k.a. “Ali Mohamad Kourani,” a.k.a. “Jacob Lewis,” a.k.a. “Daniel,” on all eight counts in the Indictment, which charged him with terrorism, sanctions and immigration offenses for his illicit work as an operative for Hizballah’s external attack-planning component.  Kourani is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 27, 2019…

On September 19, 2019 the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York issued a press release that announced, Manhattan U.S. Attorney Announces Indictment Of New Jersey Man For Terrorist Activities On Behalf Of Hizballah’s Islamic Jihad Organization. The subtitle of that press release provides more disturbing information, Alexei Saab Allegedly Was Trained by Hizballah’s External Terrorist Operations Component in Bomb-Making and Conducted Intelligence-Gathering in New York City and Washington, D.C., and Elsewhere in Support of Hizballah’s Attack-Planning Efforts.

There is a clear nexus between immigration and national security yet, for decades, the immigration system has abjectly lacked the resources it needs to imbue this important mission with the resources essential to enhancing the integrity of this vital system.  Furthermore, the radical Left have demanded the dismantling of immigration law enforcement altogether, in essence ordering “Shields down” in a truly perilous era.

How many more innocent victims must be slaughtered before our nation comes to its senses?

Six Saudi Muslims arrested near Naval Air Station after jihad attack, three of them filmed the massacre

There needs to be a thorough and realistic reevaluation of this training program of foreign nationals. But that probably will not happen; it would be “Islamophobic.”

The Air Force trainee who killed three and injured eight when he opened fire at a naval base in Florida assailed the United States as ‘a nation of evil’ before he went on his shooting rampage, AFP reports.

The man, first identified by NBC News as Saudi national Mohammed Saeed Alshamrani, opened fire inside a classroom at Naval Air Station in Pensacola early Friday morning. Police quickly responded to the scene and he was shot dead.

US officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing investigation, said the suspect was a second lieutenant attending the aviation school at the base.

Meanwhile six other Saudi nationals were arrested near the base shortly after the attack, as investigators began to probe a terror link.

Three of the six were seen filming the entire incident as it unfolded, a source told The New York Times on Friday evening….

Four Years Ago Today: A Tribute to the Victims of the San Bernardino Jihad Attack

Four years ago today, at 10:58 PST on December 2, 2015, Syed Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik began shooting his own friends and colleagues at the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health.

By 11:04, the first police arrived at the scene, but Farook and Malik had already escaped. Four hours later (at 3:08), they were sighted on North Tippecanoe Avenue in San Bernardino by a law enforcement officer, and by 3:14:53, both had been killed in a dramatic shootout with police, just 1.7 miles away from the Department of Public Health.

Here are the pictures of the 14 people who lost their lives in this Islamic Jihad attack. More can be learned about them here, here and here.

What we don’t see here are the pictures of the 17 other people who were injured during the shootings, nor do we know very much about what they’ve gone through because of their injuries, or how they’ve have been doing in the last four years since the attack.

We don’t know very much about their families, either, and the great price they have paid since that day, four years ago.

I have had the honor of getting to know some of them.

As a sworn Federal Law Enforcement Officer who has also been deeply affected by this case, it is my intention, in the weeks, months and years ahead, to help make sure that their stories are not forgotten, and that on one fine day, we will all know more about what really happened on that December day in San Bernardino.

Indiana: ISIS Wife Guilty of Sneaking Money to the Terrorists

Editor:  Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!  Sorry, I haven’t written much at ‘Frauds and Crooks’ lately but things are hopping on the refugee front and I’ll have to keep my focus there (at Refugee Resettlement Watch) in the coming weeks.

The President’s September Executive Order which would give state and local governments some say in whether refugees will be placed in certain locations has energized the refugee industry and all across the country they are mobilizing to pressure governors and local governments to tell the President that they want MORE refugees.  Six governors have so far said—send them to my state!  There appears to be a late December deadline for all to weigh in, but guidance has not been published as far as I can tell.

The day before Thanksgiving, I published a list of 88 mayors who said they wanted more refugees and that post went viral.

Here is the news I had planned for today.

I’m reminded once again that a gullible young woman got involved with a (likely charming) Moroccan national and produced 4 children with him while helping him help ISIS.

He is dead, she was returned from Syria to face justice in the US, has lost her children to Indiana social services and now faces prison time.

Sentencing is scheduled for March 2020.

Time is short (must get back to RRW), so I’m posting only the Justice Department press statement from earlier this week, if you want to learn more about her, search her name and you will see several news accounts giving more details about how she became a traitor to America.

Former Indiana Resident Pleads Guilty to Concealing Terrorism Financing

Samantha Marie Elhassani, aka Samantha Sally, 34, formerly of Elkhart, Indiana, pleaded guilty yesterday to a one-count Information charging her with concealment of terrorism financing in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 2339C.

Kirsch II for the Northern District of Indiana. “She traveled with her husband and brother-in-law to Syria, both of whom became ISIS fighters, putting the lives of her children at risk. Yesterday’s guilty plea to federal terrorism charges reflects the seriousness of her criminal conduct. My office is committed to prosecuting those who provide support to terrorist organizations. ”

“The charges that the defendant in this case has plead guilty to are a reminder the FBI will never relent in ensuring that Americans who abandon their country to further the heinous goals of a designated terrorist organization like ISIS see justice for their betrayal”said Assistant Director Mike McGarrity. “I am proud of the work of the FBI’s Indianapolis Field Office on this case and grateful for the assistance of our many international and interagency partners.”

“Ms Elhassani knowingly engaged in the concealment of resources which were intended to support future ISIS fighters whose intent is to harm her fellow Americans and others, and her plea should serve as a strong reminder that these actions have serious consequences and will not be tolerated,” said Special Agent in Charge Grant Mendenhall, FBI Indianapolis. “The defendant also exposed her young, impressionable children to an environment of hatred and violence with no regard to the harm she was causing them.”

In November 2014, Elhassani was informed by her husband that he and his brother wanted to travel to Syria to join ISIS, which she knew was a terrorist organization that engaged in terrorist activities. Between November 2014 and April 1015, Elhassani helped the two men join ISIS by making multiple trips to Hong Kong and transporting more than $30,000 in cash and gold from the United States and depositing it in a safe deposit box in Hong Kong. Elhassani melted down the gold to look like jewelry and did not disclose the cash and gold on customs declaration forms. At the time Elhassani transported the money and gold, she knew that her husband and brother-in-law had expressed an interest in joining ISIS and that they intended to use these resources to support ISIS.

In July of 2018, Elhassani was transferred from the custody of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to U.S. law enforcement custody.

I would like to know how she hooked up in the first place with a Moroccan national who was apparently living in Indiana.  How was he here?  Legally? Illegally?  If anyone sees any news about that, send it my way.

Soros-Funded ‘United We Dream’: ‘We Need to Abolish ICE’

United We Dream, an open borders lobbying group partially funded by billionaire globalist George Soros, wrote on Twitter Wednesday that “we need to abolish” the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency to protect illegal aliens accused of visa fraud.

“All year, ICE has been running a fraudulent university to bait and arrest (mostly Indian) immigrants looking for a chance at higher education,” the group tweeted. “They’ve arrested 250 people. This agency is vile. We need to #AbolishICE!”

This week ICE arrested about 250 foreign nationals in the case of a fake university set up by the Dept. of Homeland Security. The DoJ said 100% of the “students never spent a single second in a classroom” because the fake university had no teachers or educational services.

United We Dream, funded partially by Soros’s Open Society Foundation, wants an end to national borders and amnesty for all illegal aliens, along with the Soros-funded American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).

On February 14, 2019, UWD held a demonstration where approximately 50 people gathered on Capitol Hill to demand that Congress stop enforcing immigration laws and grant amnesty to all “undocumented” people residing in the United States. They also demanded that the Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency and the Customs & Border Protection (CBP) agency be defunded and dismantled. Among the chants they shouted were the following:

  • “We have nothing to lose but our chains!” (This is a famous quote from Karl Marx‘s Communist Manifesto.)
  • “[I] Came down to the Capitol to take back what they stole from me!”
  • “Undocumented, unafraid!”
  • “Queer, trans, unashamed!”

Sanctuary Cities Continue To Obstruct ICE: Protecting criminal aliens while endangering innocent victims.

On November 22, 2019 Immigration and Customs posted a news release, ICE announces Montgomery County, Prince George’s County criminal offenders shielded by current non-cooperation policies.

Once again local supposed “law enforcement” officials of Prince George’s County and Montgomery County decided to ignore detainers lodged by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

This is not the first time that these officials and other such officials have ignored detainers so that ICE could take these illegal aliens into custody to seek their deportation (removal) from the United States.

Clearly these officials refuse to learn the lessons even when their wrong-headed sanctuary policies result in the preventable death of a child!

That article included a link to a May 21, 2019 ICE press release, ICE seeks custody of teen murder suspects for a second time– Local jurisdiction failed to honor previous detainers which began with this excerpt:

BALTIMORE – Following the recent arrest of two unlawfully present teens suspected in the violent murder of a young girl in Maryland, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officers in Baltimore are again seeking to take custody of the illegal aliens through the ICE detainer process following the Prince George’s County Detention Center’s (PGCDC) failure to cooperate.

Josue Rafael Fuentes-Ponce and Joel Ernesto Escobar, both Salvadoran nationals, were previously arrested on May 11, 2018 when they were arrested by Prince George’s County Police Department (PGCPD) for attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, participation in gang activity, conspiracy to commit murder, attempted robbery, and other related charges. ICE officers lodged a detainer with PGCDC, however both were released on an unknown date and time without notification to ICE.

On May 16, 2019, PGCPD arrested the same individuals and charged them with first-degree murder.

The murder victim was a young teenage girl who would still be alive had the Prince George’s County Police Department cooperated with ICE.

Insanity has been defined as doing the same things the same way and expecting a different result.

My parents taught me that there are no errors in life, only lessons, provided that we learn from the situations where things go wrong.  However, for them, and for me, ignoring those lessons are utterly unacceptable!

The ICE press release that serves as the predication for my commentary today, noted that although they have issued detainers for aliens charged with a variety of serious violent crimes because of the non-cooperation policies of the police departments in question, it is likely that they will ultimately be released back onto the streets of the communities where they were arrested without appropriate notification being made to ICE.

When individuals are convicted for committing sex crimes they are placed on a registry of sex offenders to protect communities from their depraved and violent conduct.  You would think that all of our leaders in politics and law enforcement would agree that aliens who pose a threat to public safety and/or national security should be handed over to ICE when their jail sentences are completed to protect additional victims.

The oaths that elected officials, members of law enforcement agencies and our military are similar, requiring that they defend the Constitution and our nation to protect our nation and our citizens.  Indeed, frequently local police departments describe their mission statement simply as “To protect and serve.”

The obvious question is who is being protected by insane “Sanctuary” policies?  Certainly not the hapless victims of the crimes that criminal aliens commit.

Sanctuary cities not only protect illegal aliens, including those with criminal histories.  In point of fact, Sanctuary Cities Protect Crooked Employers And Human Traffickers.  Exploitation of the vulnerable is anything but “compassionate.”

Law enforcement officers are not provided with the latitude to only enforce the laws that they like and ignore those that are not to their liking.  Unlike patrons of restaurants who get to pick and choose from a menu, limiting their order to a few items, law enforcement officers are expected to enforce the laws, all of the laws, faithfully, objectively, fairly and dispassionately.

The biggest issue is that for the wealthy and powerful, the immigration system is not broken.  For them immigration has become a delivery system that delivers an unlimited supply of cheap and easily exploited labor, an unlimited supply of foreign tourists, and nearly unlimited supply of foreign students and finally, and of extreme significance considering that both political parties have members in key positions who are attorneys, an unlimited supply of clients for immigration law firms.

I laid out the magnitude of this underlying motivation for the failures of the immigration system in an extensive article, Sanctuary Country – Immigration failures by design.

The 9/11 Commission identified multiple failures of the immigration system as being directly responsible for the ability of international terrorists to enter the United States and then embed themselves in towns and cities across our nation as they went abMicout their deadly preparations.  The commission was clear that these failures of the immigration system including a lack of border security and the enforcement of our immigration laws from within the interior of the United States figured prominently not just in the terror attacks of 9/11 but in multiple other attacks and attempted attacks in the decade leading up to 9/11.

We have certainly seen additional terror attacks and massive levels of violent and deadly crimes committed by transnational criminals who easily gained entry into the United States and managed to hide in plain sight because of a lack of ICE personnel and resources that have been exponentially exacerbated by “sanctuary policies.”  While the open borders anarchists claim that they seek to “protect the immigrants” from ICE, in reality aliens who abide by our laws need no protection from immigration law enforcement officers.

Today Americans and immigrant communities need protection from two groups of individuals, criminal aliens and the politicians who protect and shield them from ICE.

In a FloridaPolitics.com article titled Ron DeSantis wants E-Verify bill in 2020 for ‘public safety’ Renzo Downey reports:

Gov. Ron DeSantis asked the Legislature Monday to send him a bill this coming Session to require employers make E-Verify checks, saying it would make Florida communities safer.

Republicans Sen. Joe Gruters and Rep. Cord Byrd joined DeSantis in The Villages for the announcement. Gruters, chair of the Florida GOP, is co-sponsoring Sen. Tom Lee’s E-Verify requirement bill (SB 664) while Byrd intends to file a House counterpart.

“The reason this is so timely is twofold — It’s about fairness for lawful immigrants and native-born workers, and it’s about public safety,” DeSantis said.

Many of those running for public office in the Florida House, Senate and for Governor have promised to implement E-Verify statewide. It appears that the E-Verify requirement bill (SB 664) is the best chance yet that it will become law statewide.

Fears That Citizenship Question Would Lower Response Rates Fizzle Out

One of the primary arguments made by those opposed to including a citizenship question on the 2020 census was that doing so would deter Hispanics, Asian-Americans, and other immigrants from participating. Preliminary results from the 2019 Census Test conducted this summer actually show it would have little impact on response rates.

“The major finding of the test was that there was no difference in self-response rates between forms with and forms without a citizenship question,” said Dr. Victoria A. Velkoff, the Bureau’s associate director of Demographic Programs, in an Oct. 31 blog post explaining the findings.

“Self-response rates from this test were similar to other mid-decade tests, including the 2018 Census Test conducted in Providence County, RI, which had a 52.3 percent self-response rate,” she continued.

For the households that received the questionnaire without the citizenship question, the response rate was 52 percent, while the response rate for those asked about citizenship, it was 51.5 percent, which falls within the standard statistical error range.

Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross’ March 2018 announcement that a question about citizenship status would again be included on the decennial census questionnaire was met with fearful rhetoric and lawsuits.

“This is a brazen attempt by the Trump administration to cheat on the census, to undermine the accuracy of the census and to attack states that have large immigrant populations — states, most of which just happen to be Democratic states,” said Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) at an April 2018 press conference announcing the first lawsuit challenging the question’s inclusion.

New York’s Democratic Attorney General Letitia James predicted in April 2019 that “this question would incite widespread fear in immigrant communities and greatly impair the accuracy of the Census.”

After numerous lawsuits and lower court rulings, the Supreme Court heard arguments and issued a decision in June 2019 agreeing that the question itself is constitutional, but the pretext for adding it offered by Ross was not.

The Census Bureau moved ahead in June  with plans to ask almost 480,000 households in the U.S. to fill out test questionnaires  – some with and some without a question about citizenship.

The randomized test measured the impact of the inclusion of a citizenship question on self-response rates for the purposes of allowing the Census Bureau improve its plans for performing follow-ups with nonresponding households and public communications.

In July, President Trump announced he was abandoning efforts to get the question included by other regulatory means,

The report found no difference between forms with and without a citizenship question for internet and telephone self-response rates. With regard to those mail responses, the response rate for forms without the citizenship question were an insignificant 0.3 percent higher.

The results likely will not be enough to convince opponents. Responding to the results, a lawyer with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), which filed suit against the Commerce Department, asserted that “There’s not enough information in today’s blog post to understand what precisely it means.”

Somehow, it is hard to believe there will ever be “enough information” to satisfy activist critics.

Illegal Alien Allegedly Killed Vietnam Veteran Day Before Veterans Day

An illegal alien living in Pennsylvania is accused of killing a Vietnam War Veteran the day before Veterans Day, according to law enforcement officials.

Nemias Perez Severiano, a 31-year-old illegal alien from Mexico, is accused of killing Samuel Jackson, a disabled 69-year-old who served as a Marine in the Vietnam War, the day before Veterans Day this year in Norristown, Pennsylvania, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.

On November 10, police said Severiano was driving drunk when he hit and killed Jackson before fleeing the scene of the accident. According to court records obtained by CBS Philly, the illegal alien had been drinking for five hours at a nearby bar before the fatal crash.

“While at the bar [Severiano] indicated he consumed seven to eight Modelo beers,” the arrest records stated. “[Severiano] informed the detectives that when he left the bar, he was ‘a little drunk.’”

Jackson’s sister, Peggy Jackson, said her brother “loved the Marines” and was “so proud to have served his country.”

“It was basically his day, it’s what he fought for,” Jayden Guidici, Jackson’s grandson, told ABC 6 News of his grandfather’s love of Veterans Day.

VIDEO: Latest Islamist Tactic to Undermine Programs Preventing Extremism

Is it just an Islamist response to call programs preventing extremism part of the surveillance state — or is there more to it?

The answer may depend on which country we’re discussing and who is being brought to the table to have that discussion.

Over in the UK, Roundtable recently hosted a conversation that brought together four experts in the field — two of them Muslim — to talk about the progress and pitfalls of programs to prevent extremism.

While there is a concern in the UK to make sure prevention programming doesn’t unfairly spotlight Muslims, the same standards don’t necessarily apply in the U.S.

To date, there is no national umbrella organization in the  U.S. for countering violent extremism as there is in the UK.

There is also no cohesive conversation on genuine concerns that can arise in such a space.

Yet in the U.S., instead of a conversation that moves the needle, we have Islamists and their allies setting the tone without participation from non-Islamist Muslims — meaning,  there is no nuance or balance in that conversation.

The most recent of these narrow dialogues will be hosted by the Muslim Student Association on November 25, 2019, in Minneapolis Minnesota. Speakers include Jaylani Hussein, CAIR-Minnesota’s Director, and Hassan Shibly, CAIR-Florida’s Director.

Hussein is a known provocateur and disrupter in Minneapolis. In 2017, he refused to condemn the terrorist organization Hamas. Hussein operates a CAIR chapter which includes members who have openly lamented that Hitler wasn’t alive to “add more casualties” to the Holocaust.

Two months ago, Hussein faced further public humiliation after the U.S. Census Bureau backed out of a town hall with CAIR-Minnesota after public backlash.

The director of CAIR-Florida, Hassan Shibly, is on record as saying that Hezbollah isn’t a terrorist organization. He supports sharia law for Muslim-majority countries. Shibly also entertains conspiracy theories that the U.S. government and Israel frame Muslims for terrorism. He twice posted a video on his Facebook page titled, “Former American Terrorist Denounces American Terrorism.”

Shibly also believes nationalism is a plot against Islam.

All of this is to also underscore that:

(a) There’s a need to have critical conversations about counter extremism programs, but they will never be had in a meaningful way if they only occur in spaces dominated by Islamists, and

(b) There’s a difference between countering violent extremism (CVE) and preventing violent extremism (PVE). CVE focuses on deradicalization programs whereas PVE looks to prevent radicalization from targeting vulnerable populations in the first place.
