Racist Offsets now accepted by NAACP

The LA chapter of the NAACP is refunding Donald Sterling’s contributions, for now at least. In a public statement Monday afternoon Chapter President Leon Jenkins said he was open to the idea of talking with Mr. Sterling, to negotiate a price for Racist Offsets no doubt.

“God teaches us to forgive, and the way I look at it, after a sustained period of proof to the African American community that those words don’t reflect his heart, I think there’s room for forgiveness. I wouldn’t be a Christian if I said there wasn’t.”

Most glorious compassion indeed. Mr. Jenkins continued…

“We are negotiating with him about giving more moneys to African American students at UCLA, and so we are in preliminary discussions.”

You read it right, comrades… “negotiations”. Mr. Sterling, with an undoubtedly generous “Racist Offsets” donation will be forgiven for his misdeeds. Let no racist rant go unfunded, comrades. 

“Mr. Sterling has given out a tremendous amount of scholarships, he has invited numerous African American kids to summer camps, and his donations are bigger than other sports franchises… “

As long as the Racist Offsets continue to roll in, Mr. Sterling’s rants will be forgiven by the NAACP. As they should be.

Michelle Malkin Rips Into Jeb Bush And “Fed-Ed” Common Core Standards

Conservative blogger, FOX News contributor, and my fellow “brownie” amiga,  Michelle Malkin was recently in Florida doing what she does best, railing against progressives and squishy establishment Republicans.

Malkin was the keynote speaker at the 2014 Hernando County Lincoln Day dinner this past weekend, and did not pull punches with her disgust with the likes of former Common Core pied piper, Florida Governor Jeb Bush, and others who support the “Fed-Ed” education standards.

Common Core is a huge issue for Malkin, and has reached a fever pitch in Florida. State Representative Debbie Mayfield has recently introduced legislation keep Common Core out of the state’s school system.

Republican congressional candidate, Jorge Bonilla, who is challenging Democrat Alan Grayson, has recently called for a full defunding of Common Core, was also in attendance.

Even Senator Marco Rubio has put himself at odds with Jeb Bush by openly expressing his opposition to government-run socialized education.

Florida Coalition Calls for Action on Ethics Reform, Open Government

On April 16th, a coalition of groups, including Integrity Florida, the First Amendment Foundation,  Common Cause Florida, the Citizens Awareness Foundation and The Tea Party Network held a press conference to call for the House to take action on ethics reform (SB 846) and open government (SB 1648, HB 1151) bills that were stalled in the Florida Legislature.

Since this press conference Ethics Reform Proposal SB 846 was passed by the Florida House State Affairs Committee.

“Integrity Florida applauds our lawmakers for continuing to strengthen our state’s ethics laws,” said Dan Krassner, executive director of the nonpartisan government watchdog group Integrity Florida. “For the second year in a row, the legislature is advancing anti-corruption measures to improve public trust in government. While more work will be needed in the future to take on corruption, lawmakers are moving in the right direction.”

SB 846, as amended by the House State Affairs Committee, would do the following:

  • Allows the Florida Commission on Ethics to independently begin investigations when officials fail to file financial disclosure reports;
  • Requires lobbyist disclosure at the state’s water management districts;
  • Requires ethics training for elected city officials; and
  • Applies some of the state’s ethics code to Enterprise Florida and Citizens Property Insurance.
