FBI Confirms Tren de Aragua Linked to Venezuelan Government

A new report is confirming what President Donald Trump has stated for months: the Venezuelan government is weaponizing criminal gangs and sending foreign terrorists into the U.S. According to a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) assessment shared with Fox News, Venezuela’s socialist president Nicolás Maduro and his deputies are using criminals from the Tren de Aragua (TdA) transnational gang as “proxies” to “destabilize” foreign nations, including Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and the U.S. The FBI anticipates that TdA members the Venezuelan government has sent to the U.S. will, within the next six to 18 months, begin targeting and killing other Venezuelan nationals who have been opponents or critics of Maduro’s administration.

“These findings should shock Americans but not the law enforcement community,” an unnamed Trump administration official commented to Fox News. He added, “They reflect the sentiments of numerous other intelligence assessments across multiple agencies.” The official stated, “Nicholas [sic] Maduro is a Marxist dictator who hijacked a once-prosperous Venezuela and brought in nothing but total economic collapse and gang takeover. He crumbled Caracas, now overrun with drugs and violence, and wants to do the same across the United States by sending his most violent and dangerous criminals into our communities.” He continued, “The Trump administration will continue to use every authority in our power to make sure these TdA terrorists, who are some of the worst in the world, are kept out of our country.”

An official from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) confirmed that the Venezuelan government is actively “aiding and abetting” TdA and offering the criminal organization “sanctuary.” TdA leadership, the ODNI official said, has often been “located” in Venezuela and has “broadly benefited from conditions in Venezuela created by the Venezuelan government.” Venezuela’s government has also “been eager to welcome violent TdA criminals back to Venezuela, providing further proof they see them as allies. Again, this mirrors the behavior of the Taliban in Afghanistan and other Middle Eastern failed states like Syria and Libya that have welcomed terrorists with open arms,” the official said.

According to a report from the Associated Press, the contents of a National Intelligence Council assessment seemingly contradict the FBI’s and ODNI’s findings, claiming that there is no link between Maduro’s government and TdA. The unnamed ODNI official clarified that the FBI’s and ODNI’s recent assessments are more “robust and accurate given their focus on domestic security and crimes, versus limited intelligence assessments from other intelligence elements who by law focus solely on foreign intelligence collection and who, until President Trump took office, had very limited resources focused on TdA.” The official said that the Associated Press report was based on information from “illegal leakers” and said that “propaganda media conveniently did not include [more accurate intelligence] because it gets in the way of their biased narrative and attempt to deceive the American people.”

Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard also criticized the Associated Press report, as well as the intelligence officers responsible for leaking classified information. “The weaponization of intelligence to undermine the President’s agenda is an assault on democracy. Those behind this illegal leak of classified intelligence, twisted and manipulated to convey the exact opposite finding, will be held accountable under the full force of the law,” Gabbard said in a social media post. She continued, “The Office of the Director of National Intelligence fully supports the assessment that the foreign terrorist organization, Tren De Aragua, is acting with the support of the Maduro Regime, and thus subject to arrest, detention and removal as alien enemies of the United States.”

In late February, the State Department formally classified TdA as a foreign terrorist organization. A few weeks later, the president invoked the Alien Enemies Act (AEA) of 1798 to target Venezuelan nationals affiliated or associated with TdA for arrest and deportation. In his invocation, the president stated that TdA is “conducting irregular warfare and undertaking hostile actions against the United States” by “commit[ing] brutal crimes, including murders, kidnappings, extortions, and human, drug, and weapons trafficking.”

“TdA is closely aligned with, and indeed has infiltrated, the Maduro regime, including its military and law enforcement apparatus,” the president announced. He continued, “Venezuelan national and local authorities have ceded ever-greater control over their territories to transnational criminal organizations, including TdA. The result is a hybrid criminal state that is perpetrating an invasion of and predatory incursion into the United States, and which poses a substantial danger to the United States.”

Earlier this week, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced that nearly 30 TdA leaders and members had been charged with crimes under Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act. The 27 TdA members were charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking conspiracy, drug trafficking conspiracy, robbery, and firearms offenses. Attorney General Pam Bondi said in a press release, “Tren de Aragua is not just a street gang — it is a highly structured terrorist organization that has destroyed American families with brutal violence, engaged in human trafficking, and spread deadly drugs through our communities.”

Most of the TdA members charged in the indictment have been operating in New York City, illegally trafficking women into the city from Venezuela and Peru and forcing them into prostitution, committing murders and armed robberies, and flooding the boroughs of Queens and the Bronx with a “pink powdery drug” called “tusi,” which contains ketamine. TdA gangsters in New York also relied on violence to combat rival gangs and hunt down and execute former TdA members, especially those who had joined splinter groups.

Shortly afterwards, the DOJ announced terrorist charges against a TdA leader for the first time. Jose Enrique Martinez Flores, alleged to be a high-ranking TdA officer, was charged with supporting and conspiring to support a foreign terrorist organization, largely through the sale of large quantities of cocaine. Bondi commented, “TdA is not a street gang — it is a highly structured terrorist organization that put down roots in our country during the prior administration.” FBI Director Kash Patel added, “TdA is a direct threat to our national security, to our communities, and to Americans.” He further pledged to “eliminate this violent terrorist organization from our streets.”

The Most Significant Accomplishments of Trump’s First 100 Days

Since Franklin D. Roosevelt ushered in the New Deal in 1933 in just three months, historians have measured a president’s success or failure by its first 100 days. As we reach President Trump’s 100th day in office, the 47th president’s second administration has taken a whirlwind of decisive actions to protect life, end artificial support for extreme transgender ideology, uphold religious liberty, secure America’s southern border, restore national sovereignty, and return to a traditional America First foreign policy fostering peace and prosperity.

President Trump’s second first-100-days in office have been “all about one thing: promises made and promises kept. And we have pages and pages and pages of those promises being kept already in just 100 days,” Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-La.) told “This Week on Capitol Hill” host Tony Perkins ahead of this week’s milestone.

Here are some of the president’s most significant accomplishments since his recent return to the Oval Office.

Abortion: Protecting Pro-Life Rights

President Trump began protecting pro-life advocates’ unalienable right to freedom of speech, reversing his predecessor’s weaponization of government against pro-life Christians, and stopping pro-life taxpayers from financing abortion on day one. By the afternoon of January 20 — inauguration day — a Biden-era government website promoting abortion, ReproductiveRights.gov, had gone offline.

On January 23, Trump kept a campaign promise he had made at the 2023 Pray Vote Stand Summit by signing the pardon of 23 pro-life advocates jailed by the Biden-Harris administration. “This is a great honor to sign this,” said the president as he held the pardon aloft in the Oval Office.

The Biden-Harris Justice Department imprisoned many of those nearly two dozen pro-life advocates under a novel legal theory that accused them of violating both the Federal Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act and the Ku Klux Klan Act of 1871. From this time forward, the Justice Department will only press charges under the FACE Act if the allegation results in “death, serious bodily harm, or serious property damage,” announced the Trump administration in a January 24 memo. “Cases not presenting significant aggravating factors can adequately be addressed under state or local law.”

Trump also protected U.S. taxpayers from funding foreign abortions and many abortions in the United States. A January 24 presidential memorandum reinstated his 2017 Protecting Life in Global Health Assistance (PLGHA), which assures U.S. taxpayers shall not be forced to pay any foreign organization that commits, refers, or advocates for abortion. The action also aims “to ensure that U.S. taxpayer dollars do not fund organizations or programs that support or participate in the management of a program of coercive abortion or involuntary sterilization.”

The same day, Trump signed an executive order “Enforcing the Hyde Amendment,” which assures the nearly five-decade-old policy embraced by President Jimmy Carter will be respected for the next four years. Although a younger Joe Biden voted for the Hyde Amendment — which safeguards taxpayer funds from footing the bill for most abortions through Medicaid — the White House detailed how the Biden-Harris administration subsequently undermined this longstanding norm by compelling taxpayers to underwrite “abortion-related travel expenses,” while “the Department of Veterans Affairs allowed hospitals to provide abortions, and the Department of Health and Human Services paid for abortions for illegal immigrants.”

Additionally, in March the Trump administration held up tens of millions of dollars in Planned Parenthood funding over allegations the nation’s largest abortion business adopted so-called “diversity, equity, and inclusion” policies that violated federal civil rights laws. Leakers have said this may presage a larger administration initiative to defund Planned Parenthood, which received $699.3 million in taxpayer funding and carried out 392,712 abortions in its 2022-2023 fiscal year.

The Trump administration’s pro-life actions should prove popular. Three out of four Americans (73%) oppose taxpayer-funded abortions overseas, and nearly six out of 10 of Americans (57%) oppose using federal funds for abortions at home, according to a Marist poll released in January.

Symbolically, Vice President J.D. Vance delivered a speech in person at the 2025 March for Life, and Trump sent a recorded message to the annual pro-life gathering. In his first administration, Trump became the first sitting president to speak to the March for Life in the flesh.

Extreme Transgender Ideology

President Trump has opposed extreme gender ideology from day one, protecting children from transgender hormone injections or surgeries, sheltering battered women and female prisoners from men who say they identify as female, and maintaining fairness in women’s sports.

On his first day in office, Trump signed the executive order “Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government,” which said the federal government recognizes only two sexes, based in observable biological reality, from the moment of fertilization. “‘Female’ means a person belonging, at conception, to the sex that produces the large reproductive cell,” says the order. “‘Male’ means a person belonging, at conception, to the sex that produces the small reproductive cell.”

Eight days later, the president’s executive order “Protecting Children from Chemical and Surgical Mutilation” ended taxpayer funding for transgender procedures involving minors, allows those subjected to such experimental medical interventions to sue, and may lead to the prosecution of those who carry out transgender surgeries. The predatory transgender industry’s “maiming and sterilizing a growing number of impressionable children under the radical and false claim that adults can change a child’s sex … will be a stain on our [n]ation’s history, and it must end,” the order declared.

Trump underscored this in a March 4 address to a joint session of Congress, when he told American youth directly, “Our message to every child in America is that you are perfect exactly the way God made you.”

Trump made it official policy that the military’s emphasis on winning wars and lethality is “inconsistent with the medical, surgical, and mental health constraints on individuals with gender dysphoria. This policy is also inconsistent with shifting pronoun usage or use of pronouns that inaccurately reflect an individual’s sex” in his January 27 executive order “Prioritizing Military Excellence and Readiness” on January 27. The order reverses President Biden’s order opening the military to those who openly identify as transgender but grandfathers in those who have been “stable” for at least 36 months. The executive order stated that identifying as transgender prevents people from living an “honorable, truthful, and disciplined lifestyle, even in one’s personal life.”

On February 5, Trump announced his administration would prosecute Title IX violations by schools or universities that force female students or athletes “to compete with or against or to appear unclothed before males.” Allowing males to compete in women’s sports is “demeaning, unfair, and dangerous to women and girls,” stated the executive order “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports.” He also cut off student loan forgiveness for LGBTQ activists in a March 7 executive order, “Restoring Public Service Loan Forgiveness.”

The Trump administration has steadfastly implemented these orders against intransigent blue states such as Maine, led by Governor Janet Mills (D). On April 7, the Trump administration notified Maine officials that it would withhold all non-essential funding from the state Department of Corrections after it placed a 6’1” man who confessed to murdering both his parents (and his dog) in a women’s correctional facility. The Biden administration, by contrast, forced women to share prison cells with trans-identified male offenders and filed lawsuits against states that refused to go along with his orders. By January, 15% of all inmates in female correctional facilities were men.

On April 11, the Education Department announced it was moving to cut off all K-12 funding to the state of Maine for flouting federal law, cutting off prison funding. Similarly, Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins held up USDA funding for “administrative and technological functions” in Maine schools that forced girls to change in front of, or compete against, boys.

Th White House released a theologically rich and inspiring statement celebrating Holy Week. One year earlier, then-President Joe Biden placed the weight of his bully pulpit behind a campaign needling Americans to celebrate the “Transgender Day of Visibility,” which also fell on Easter Sunday. Biden’s transgender proclamation ran nearly seven times as long as his Easter statement.

Trump press aides have said they do not respond to questions from reporters who put their personal pronouns in their biographies or social media profiles.

Restoring Religious Liberty

President Trump has established religious liberty departments within Cabinet agencies and recently hosted a conference on the violation of Christians’ rights. The administration has pointedly denounced violations of religious liberty and free speech rights by U.S. allies in Europe. Vice President J.D. Vance told the Munich Security Conference in February that the continent’s “backslide away from conscience rights has placed the basic liberties of religious [believers], in particular, in the crosshairs.” Days later, police handcuffed a 74-year-old grandmother for silently offering to talk to mothers outside an abortion facility. They charged her with violating Scotland’s Abortion Services (Safe Access Zones) Act, which carries a potential fine ranging from £10,000 ($12,600 U.S.) to an unlimited amount.

Securing the Border

On the president’s signature issue, Trump swiftly returned order to the U.S. border by reinstating the Remain in Mexico policy, ending the policy of catch-and-release, designating criminal syndicates such as Tren de Aragua and MS-13 as foreign terrorist organizations or criminal enterprises, and using the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to deport illegal immigrants. He also signed the Laken Riley Act into law and turned the CBP One app from importing to exporting illegal immigrants. He has deported 135,000 illegal immigrants to date.

His policies have proven effective. “Illegal border crossings dropped precipitously. In March, U.S. Customs and Border Enforcement said 7,181 people were apprehended nationwide between border crossings — a 14% decrease from February and a 95% drop from March 2024,” reported the Associated Press. As Trump told Congress, “The media and our friends in the Democrat Party kept saying we needed new legislation. ‘We must have legislation to secure the border.’ But it turned out that all we really needed was a new president.”

National Sovereignty

President Trump has restored national sovereignty by withdrawing from the World Health Organization (WHO), effectively scuttling any chance the global body had of seeing significant progress on the WHO Pandemic Agreement. “WHO proved itself to be a corrupt organization run by the Chinese Communist Party and global leftists,” Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) told “Washington Watch” earlier this month. “President Trump is acting boldly, swiftly, and decisively.” WHO reported a $2.5 billion budget shortfall shortly after Trump’s announcement.

The 47th president also promptly withheld U.S. taxpayer funds from the World Trade Organization (WTO), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

The February 4 directive also ordered the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations to “conduct a review of [Ameria’s] membership in UNESCO,” the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization. President Ronald Reagan exited the organization in 1984, but George W. Bush rejoined in 2003. Trump then withdrew again in 2018, but the Biden administration reversed that decision in 2023.

On February 6, Trump issued an executive order titled “Imposing Sanctions on the International Criminal Court,” rebuffing the ICC for investigating U.S. personnel “without a legitimate basis” and for “issuing baseless arrest warrants targeting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Former Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant” for committing war crimes in Israel’s response to the October 7, 2023, terrorist attack by Hamas.

Moving to Abolish the Department of Education and Hold the Federal Bureaucracy Accountable

In what may prove to be President Trump’s most consequential action, he has taken the first steps to abolish the Department of Education. On March 11, the Trump administration fired half of the Department of Education’s staffers. Although the DOE has spent more than $3 trillion since its formation by President Jimmy Carter in 1979, U.S. reading scores in 2023 were “not significantly different from the average score in 1971,” according to the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP). The action fulfills a campaign promise made in a July 2023 online video and repeated at the 2023 Pray Vote Stand Summit to “move everything back to the states.”

The same order directs the secretary of Education to assure all public schools abide by the “requirement that any program or activity receiving Federal assistance terminate illegal discrimination obscured under the label ‘diversity, equity, and inclusion’ or similar terms and programs promoting gender ideology.”

Trump’s executive orders and actions have also rooted out racially discriminatory policies branded under the label “diversity, equity, and inclusion” — which often include LGBTQ indoctrination — from federal agencies and sought to thwart bureaucrats who simply maintained DEI policies and offices under different names. Meanwhile, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has exposed federal waste, fraud, and abuse, and sought to make the vast federal workforce responsive to the will of the American people.

In less than 100 days, President Donald J. Trump has “accomplished more than most politicians and presidents accomplish in an entire lifetime,” Speaker Johnson told Perkins.

White House lawn lined with the faces of people ‘arrested’ for sex and drug-related violent crimes

The White House lawn is lined with posters of 100 of the “worst illegal immigrant criminals” arrested in the first 100 days of President Donald Trump’s second term.

“Good Morning from The White House!” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt wrote on X on Monday morning, sharing video of the posters, which say “arrested” at the top and appear to have a mugshot or other photo of the person followed by the label “illegal alien.”

The bottom of the poster lists a crime the person is accused of committing, including rape, murder, sexual assault of a child, lewd acts in front of a child, and distribution of fentanyl and illegal guns.

Illegal immigrant posters at the White House

“We will hunt you down. You will face justice. You will be deported — and you will never set foot on American soil again,” the White House wrote in a separate X post. “Oh, and your mugshot may just end up on a yard sign at the White House.”

Leavitt and Border Czar Tom Homan hosted an early morning press briefing Monday. Homan alleged that former President Joe Biden “unsecured the border on purpose.”

“I started the Border Patrol in 1984. I’ve been at this for over 40 years. I worked for six presidents, starting with Ronald Reagan. Every president I ever worked for took more security seriously. Because you can’t have national security if you don’t have strong border security,” Homan told reporters. “Even President Obama and President Clinton took some steps to secure the border. They understood national security was important.”

“Joe Biden was the first president in the history of this nation who came in office and unsecured the border on purpose. That’s just a fact,” Homan said.

The White House also released a list and photos of all 100 illegal immigrants featured on the yard signs, highlighting several higher-profile cases.

There’s a poster of Jose Enrique Pol Troncoso, a 31-year-old Dominican national arrested earlier this month by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Miami. He was convicted of fentanyl possession and carrying a concealed weapon. His criminal histo also includes cocaine and heroin possession and stalking in Orange County, Florida, according to the White House.

Last month, ICE Houston arrested 66-year-old Guatemalan national Norberto Che Xol, whose photo is also featured at the White House Monday. He was convicted of indecent sexual contact with a child in Harris County, Texas.

The White House is also displaying the image of Virginia Basora Gonzalez – a Dominican woman previously deported for fentanyl trafficking who broke down in tears when she was arrested by federal agents again in Philadelphia last month. Gonzalez had a final order of removal dated March 4, 2020. Her criminal history includes a conviction for attempted possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl in Philadelphia, according to the White House.

ICE Denver arrested 65-year-old Mexican national Francisco Schraidt-Rodriguez, who was convicted of fentanyl distribution in Baja California. His photo is now on the White House lawn.

As is a photo of 55-year-old Honduran national Hector Rolando Valle, who was convicted of performing lewd acts in front of a minor in Oklahoma and sentenced to five years in prison. ICE Philadelphia arrested Valle on March 13. He had a final order of removal dated May 2, 2022.

WHITE HOUSE: 100 Days at the Border

President Donald J. Trump has delivered on his campaign promises to secure the U.S. border, achieving historic reductions in illegal crossings and apprehending dangerous criminals.

His administration has implemented tough policies, including designating violent gangs as Foreign Terrorist Organizations and resuming border wall construction, to enhance national security and public safety.

Through mass deportation operations and targeted enforcement, the administration has arrested over 150,000 illegal immigrants, including gang members and criminals, while drastically reducing the number of unaccompanied minors crossing the border.

The President has taken decisive action to eliminate sanctuary cities and cut federal benefits for illegal immigrants, redirecting resources to support American citizens.

His administration has also invoked the Alien Enemies Act to dismantle migrant criminal networks and shut down immigration apps used to exploit the system.

With measures like the Laken Riley Act and executive orders to streamline border security, his policies have transformed the border into the most secure in modern American history!

America is BACK & America is SAFE!

PROMISES MADE, PROMISES KEPT: Border Security Achieved in Fewer Than 100 Days

Since President Donald J. Trump took office, he and his administration have ushered in the most secure border in modern American history — and he didn’t need legislation to do it. President Trump has made good on the promises he made on the campaign trail to usher in an unprecedented era of homeland security.

Here are a few of those promises:

PROMISE MADE: “We will close the border. We will stop the invasion of illegals into our country.” (10/12/24, Aurora, CO)

PROMISE KEPT:

  • Illegal border encounters are down by 95%.
  • Illegal immigrant “gotaways” — the top threat to public safety — are down by 99%.
  • Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin: “If Fox were to send me down there right now, I would have trouble finding a single migrant on camera.”
  • CBS immigration reporter Camilo Montoya-Galvez: “Typically, when we go to the U.S./Mexico border, we at least see one group of people who are trying to cross into the U.S. illegally. We did not see a single migrant.”
  • The Wall Street Journal: Border Crossings Grind to Halt as Trump’s Tough Policies Take Hold

100-plus undocumented immigrants detained in large drug raid at Colorado Springs nightclub: Officials

DEA reports more than a dozen U.S. active-duty service members were also in the club at the time of the raid.

Federal law enforcement officials said they detained more than 100 people who were in the country illegally in a raid at an “underground” Colorado Springs nightclub early Sunday morning.

The Drug Enforcement Administration said it also seized cocaine and guns during the raid at the northwest corner of Academy Boulevard and Airport Road.

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, in a post on X, said the club is frequented by members of the Venezuelan prison gang Tren de Aragua and international gang MS-13.

“This morning @DEAHQ apprehended over 100 illegal aliens at an underground night club frequented by Tda and MS-13 terrorists. Cocaine, meth, and pink cocaine was seized. 2 people were also arrested on existing warrants,” Bondi’s post read.

The Rocky Mountain division of the DEA reported the multi-agency enforcement operation on X around 4 a.m.

“@DHSgov has taken more than 100 illegal aliens into custody. Drugs and weapons have also been seized at this underground nightclub in Colorado Springs,” the agency posted around 6 a.m., sharing a video of the raid.

The video shows dozens of men and women stream out of the front door of the building after law enforcement officers break a window.

During a news conference, DEA Special Agent in Charge Jonathan Pullen said Colorado Springs “was waking up to a safer community” Sunday after agents found pink cocaine, evidence of prostitution and drug trafficking, and firearms during the raid.

Federal Officials Take TDA-Harboring Judge, Wife Into Custody

Former New Mexico Democrat Judge Jose “Joel” Cano and his wife were reportedly taken into custody Thursday by federal officials after being accused of harboring a Tren de Aragua (TdA) gang member in their home.

KFOX14 captured video Thursday afternoon showing federal officials placing Cano and his wife Nancy into custody as U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers executed a search and probable cause arrest warrant at their Las Cruces home. The video shows officials wearing Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) vests detaining the couple near a set of vehicles, with both placed in handcuffs.

In March, Cano resigned from his position after 23-year-old Venezuelan national Cristhian Ortega-Lopez was arrested by authorities, according to the Albuquerque Journal. Ortega-Lopez had reportedly met Nancy Cano after illegally entering the U.S. in 2023 near Eagle Pass, Texas and later accepted her offer to stay in a “casita” behind their home, the outlet reported.

Leading up to Cano’s resignation, the Department of Justice said federal authorities had executed search warrants related to unlawful firearm possession and other offenses involving four illegal migrants in the state — Ortega-Lopez among them.

A spokesperson for ICE said to KFOX14 that both Cano and his wife had been taken into custody during the raid of their home, with HSI agents telling the outlet that both face evidence-tampering charges.

Ortega-Lopez is accused of being an illegal migrant in possession of firearms as well as having affiliations with TdA. Official charges against Cano and his wife have not been officially released.

The FBI was unable to provide the Daily Caller News Foundation with any further information due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.

HSI and ICE did not immediately respond to the DCNF’s request for comment.

Billionaire technocrat Peter Thiel’s company, Palantir, lands $30 million contract with ICE to help round up and deport illegals

What could possibly go wrong with such a system in government hands? 

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has awarded a $30 million contract to arch-technocrat Peter Thiel’s company, Palantir Technologies.

The contract calls for Palantir to develop ImmigrationOS, a comprehensive digital platform aimed at streamlining and expanding the agency’s deportation apparatus.

Biometric Update reports that the contract marks a deepening of Palantir’s role in immigration enforcement, which stretches back to when it first supplied data-gathering tools to ICE in 2014.

Palantir also has contracts with the CIA, FBI and DoD and, as I reported on April 14, recently struck a deal with NATO to supply AI-powered Smart warfighting systems.

President Trump pledged on the campaign trail to deport at least 13 million illegal aliens in what he said would be “the largest domestic deportation operation in American history.”

However, his efforts have been severely hampered by logistical, legal, and political hurdles.​ In the first 50 days of Trump’s second term, ICE reported a mere 32,000 arrests, nothing approaching the millions of deportations promised by Trump and his border czar Tom Homan. ​

According to the report by Biometric Update:

“ImmigrationOS is an end-to-end digital ecosystem that automates the lifecycle of deportation. Its architecture is built to optimize three primary enforcement areas. First, the system prioritizes targets using AI to sift through immigration records, criminal histories, and social indicators such as known affiliations or prior infractions.

“Second, it provides near real-time monitoring of “self-deportation” events, enabling ICE to track individuals who exit the United States voluntarily, often under pressure. Third, it supports what the agency refers to as ‘immigration lifecycle management,’ which includes coordinating logistics for detentions, removals, and administrative follow-through to minimize operational delays.

“At the center of this platform is the integration of data from an extraordinary range of sources. ImmigrationOS pulls from the Social Security Administration (SSA), Internal Revenue Service (IRS), U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), and state voter rolls, among others.”

Biometric Update noted that there are allegations that data for ImmigrationOS is being sourced through unauthorized access to government databases, facilitated by individuals with high-level access, leading to concerns about the legality and ethics of the data-collection methods being employed.

If you’re a patriotic flag-waving MAGA Republican, this might all sound just dandy. And I agree, we have way too many illegals in this country.

But if you’re a thinking conservative whose patriotism is tethered to a strong belief that government cannot be trusted to stay within its Constitutional bounds, this story is disturbing. Is it not part of a strategic move, a Hegelian dialectic, on the part of the globalists to create a problem under one administration, in this case that of Joe Biden, that cries out for a solution by the next administration, even if by extraordinary means? And if that extraordinary means is normalized, could it not be weaponized against American citizens later on, likely by a future administration?

Think about this: What’s to stop Palantir from selling this same AI-powered software system to the FBI or DHS under a future Democrat administration, renaming it, and using it to round up outspoken Christian conservatives and Trump supporters and place them in detention camps?

It may sound crazy, but we’ve already seen a nationwide manhunt for J6ers under the Biden administration. They looked under every stone for folks whose biggest crime was trusting police who welcomed them into the Capitol and a space they weren’t supposed to legally be in. Think of how quickly they could have rounded those folks up with Palantir’s data-gathering and self-analyzing artificial intelligence! This system can find out everything about a person within a matter of seconds, including where you live, where you shop, where you bank, where you work, your favorite hangouts, and the same information about all your friends, family members and co-workers.

Trump Scores a Key Win Against the Immigration Industrial Complex

Did you know that your tax dollars funded the housing and transportation of illegal aliens across the country? President Donald Trump has moved to stop this phenomenon, and his efforts recently met with an important success.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops announced that it would not renew agreements with the federal government relating to children’s services and refugee support.

As I wrote in my book, “The Woketopus: The Dark Money Cabal Manipulating the Federal Government,” the USCCB formed one arm of the Immigration Industrial Complex, the network of NGOs receiving federal funds to move illegal aliens across the country.

Some of this work may be noble—it involved finding homes for unaccompanied alien children and those freed from human trafficking—but it also abetted the border crisis, on an industrial scale.

The Immigration Industrial Complex

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas admitted in an April 2022 memorandum that his plan for “border security” involved “bolstering the capacity of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to receive noncitizens after they have been processed by [Customs and Border Protection] and are awaiting the results of their immigration removal proceedings.”

The Biden administration released millions of illegal aliens on parole, giving them court dates to adjudicate their immigration status, but these aliens routinely miss their court dates and move to live elsewhere in the country.

In 2022, The Heritage Foundation’s Border Security and Immigration Center teamed up with the Oversight Project to track where illegal aliens move. They traced cell phones detected at federal immigration facilities, finding that these devices moved across the country.

Illegal aliens in facilities maintained by Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley, for example, moved to 433 out of America’s 435 congressional districts.

As a reminder, at least 9 million illegal aliens entered the United States under President Joe Biden. Only 11 U.S. states have populations greater than 9 million, and even left-leaning “sanctuary city” mayors lamented their inability to deal with the influx of illegal aliens.

Many faith-based NGOs that launched to help legal immigrants in previous eras of U.S. history revamped their efforts in recent years, helping immigrants apparently regardless of legal status. These Immigration Industrial Complex groups likely would not exist without federal funding.

Global Refuge, formerly Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service, for example, received $180 million in government grants, more than seven times what it received in “all other contributions” ($25 million), in 2022. The U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants reported receiving the vast majority of its revenue ($117.4 million of $121.7 million) through government grants in 2020.

Chapters of Catholic Charities received at least $1.13 billion under Biden through the Refugee and Entrant Assistance State/Replacement Designee Administered Programs grant from the Administration for Children and Families in the Department of Health and Human Services, for example. Catholic Charities USA received $1.4 billion of its $4.7 billion in revenue from government support in 2022—more than the $1 billion it received in private donations.

The Trump Freeze

The Trump administration froze tens of millions of dollars in grants in order to conduct a program integrity review. This seems eminently reasonable. While Americans of faith like myself may support programs that care for the less fortunate—particularly legal immigrants and refugees— we should not be forced to pay for these charitable programs with our tax dollars, much less have our tax dollars spent to help relocate illegal aliens across the country.

The administration should ensure that these programs do not abet the immigration crisis and incentivize more illegals to enter the country.

Predictably, however, the Immigration Industrial Complex responded with lawsuits.

USCCB sued the State Department in March to challenge the freeze on around $65 million in federal funding for refugee services. The Biden administration had provided the USCCB with $100 million annually, and the funding covered more than 95% of the bishops’ spending on those programs.

The State Department canceled two multimillion-dollar refugee resettlement contracts with USCCB last month, directing the bishops to “stop all work on these program[s] and not incur any new costs.”

Only in this context did the USCCB finally announce the end of its work with the federal government.

“Today, the USCCB makes the heartbreaking announcement that we will not be renewing existing cooperative agreements with the federal government related to children’s services and refugee support,” the bishops said. “This difficult decision follows the suspension by the government of our cooperative agreements to resettle refugees.”

In other words, the USCCB is claiming to take a pro-active action, but the announcement actually represents the USCCB’s recognition of reality—the administration had already made the determinative steps.

‘Rigorous Screening’

Notably, USCCB claimed, “All participants in these programs were welcomed by the U.S. government to come to the United States and underwent rigorous screening before their arrival.”

The Biden administration “welcomed” many immigrants outside the legal channels established by Congress, particularly through the program that imported people from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela. The Biden administration chartered planes for these aliens and granted them parole to remain in the country, a protection the Trump administration will remove later this month.

Lora Ries, director of The Heritage Foundation’s Border Security and Immigration Center, contested the vetting claim.

“The Biden administration demonstrated repeatedly that aliens and sponsors were not adequately vetted, whether that was Afghan evacuees, sponsors for unaccompanied children, sponsors for parolees, or others,” she told The Daily Signal.

“Lack of vetting was the reason for multiple Inspector General reports and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services pause of one of its parole programs,” Ries added.

A Critical Admission

Bill Canny, the executive director of USCCB’s Migration and Refugee Services program, told EWTN News that the program cannot continue without federal funding.

“You can’t replace the generosity of the [United States] taxpayer and how they help either needy people overseas or needy people domestically,” Canny told EWTN. “You can’t replace that, in this case, some $200 million a year, which it would have been this year. So we can’t replace it with private [money].”

Perhaps USCCB should create a new program that can be funded with private donations, to address the real human concerns that justified the original program. In that case, not only would the program be directed to the people who most need it, but it would also be able to survive without federal strings attached.

USCCB was fulfilling a few important charitable functions, but its old program formed part of a noxious Immigration Industrial Complex. I pray that it can establish a new program dedicated to helping legal refugees and human trafficking victims, without abetting the border crisis.

Americans of faith in general—and Catholics, in particular—are a generous people. Let’s allow them to fund charity with their own dollars, not by using the power of the state to force them to fork over the cash.

Justice Alito: SCOTUS’s Ruling against Trump deportations ‘unprecedented’

The Supreme Court acted “literally in the middle of the night” and without sufficient explanation in blocking the Trump administration from deporting any Venezuelans held in northern Texas under an 18th-century wartime law, Justice Samuel Alito wrote in a sharp dissent that castigated the seven-member majority. 

NEWSMAX — Joined by fellow conservative Justice Clarence Thomas, Alito said there was “dubious factual support” for granting the request in an emergency appeal from the American Civil Liberties Union. The group contended that immigration authorities appeared to be moving to restart such removals under the Alien Enemies Act of 1798.

The majority did not provide a detailed explanation in the order early Saturday, as is typical, but the court previously said deportations could proceed only after those about to be removed had a chance to argue their case in court and were given “a reasonable time” to contest their pending removals.

“Both the Executive and the Judiciary have an obligation to follow the law,” Alito said in the dissent released hours after the court’s intervention against Republican President Donald Trump’s administration.

The justices’ brief order directed the administration not to remove Venezuelans held in the Bluebonnet Detention Center “until further order of this court.”

Alito said that “unprecedented” relief was “hastily and prematurely granted.”

He wrote that it was not clear whether the Supreme Court had jurisdiction at this stage of the case, saying that not all legal avenues had been played out in lower courts and the justices had not had the chance to hear the government’s side.

“The only papers before this Court were those submitted by the applicants. The Court had not ordered or received a response by the Government regarding either the applicants’ factual allegations or any of the legal issues presented by the application. And the Court did not have the benefit of a Government response filed in any of the lower courts either,” Alito said.

Alito said the legal filings, “while alleging that the applicants were in imminent danger of removal, provided little concrete support for that allegation.” He noted that while the court did not hear directly from the government regarding any planned deportations under the Alien Enemies Act in this case, a government lawyer in a different matter had told a U.S. District Court in a hearing Friday evening that no such deportations were then planned to occur either Friday or Saturday.

“In sum, literally in the middle of the night, the Court issued unprecedented and legally questionable relief without giving the lower courts a chance to rule, without hearing from the opposing party, within eight hours of receiving the application, with dubious factual support for its order, and without providing any explanation for its order,” Alito wrote. “I refused to join the Court’s order because we had no good reason to think that, under the circumstances, issuing an order at midnight was necessary or appropriate. Both the Executive and the Judiciary have an obligation to follow the law.”

The administration has filed paperwork urging the high court to reconsider its hold.

Alleged MS-13 gangbanger Kilmar Abrego Garcia was seen “sipping margaritas” with Sen. Chris Van Hollen on Thursday amid his high-profile deportation battle, according to photos shared by El Salvador President Nayib Bukele.

Bukele shared three pics of Van Hollen (D-Md.) meeting with Abrego Garcia — who was wrongly deported to El Salvador’s notorious megaprison last month — lounging in the country’s “tropical paradise” with what appeared to be salt-rimmed drinking glasses containing an unknown liquid and a cherry.

“Kilmar Abrego Garcia, miraculously risen from the ‘death camps’ & ‘torture’, now sipping margaritas with Sen. Van Hollen in the tropical paradise of El Salvador,” Bukele said in an X post Thursday night.

“Now that he’s been confirmed healthy, he gets the honor of staying in El Salvador’s custody,” Bukele, who said earlier this week that he has no intention of returning Abrego Garcia to the US, wrote in a separate post.

The directive involves a series of enforcement measures intended to safeguard taxpayer dollars, remove incentives for illegal immigration, and address instances of benefit fraud.

Key components of this initiative include the Social Security Administration (SAA) collaborating with at least 50 U.S. Attorney Offices to strengthen its fraud prosecutor program. To further combat identity fraud, the SSA Inspector General has been tasked with examining income records for people aged 100 and over with inconsistencies in their Social Security information. Additionally, the agency is exploring whether to reinstate civil monetary penalties for those committing Social Security fraud, a measure that has been dormant for several years.

According to the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), American taxpayers incur expenses surpassing $182 billion yearly due to the presence of approximately 20 million illegal aliens and their offspring, based on both federal and state expenditures. Despite some illegal aliens contributing taxes, reports suggest they remain a net fiscal burden, estimated at roughly $150.7 billion.

GOP lawmakers expressed outrage on social media after Maryland Democrat Sen. Chris Van Hollen met with a deported illegal alien in El Salvador on Thursday.

“Sen. Chris Van Hollen of Maryland looked like a fool yesterday standing in El Salvador begging for attention from the fake news media, or anyone,” President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Van Hollen traveled to El Salvador to demand the release from prison of Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, who the senator claims was “illegally abducted” from Maryland. Abrego Garcia entered the U.S. illegally in 2012, has ties to MS-13, and the Department of Homeland Security claims he has been involved in human trafficking activity.

“Find someone who looks at you the way Democrat senators look at illegal alien MS-13 gang members,” Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, wrote sarcastically on X with a photo of the two men talking.

Rep. Mike Collins, R-Ga., called Van Hollen’s actions “traitorous,” and Rep. Andy Harris, R-Md., bashed his fellow Maryland lawmaker for showing more support to an illegal alien than the family of slain Maryland mother Rachel Morin, who was raped and murdered by an illegal alien in 2023.

“Imagine if Sen. Van Hollen cared as much about the families of Rachel Morin and Kayla Hamilton,” Harris wrote on X. An illegal alien MS-13 gang member killed Hamilton, a 20-year-old Maryland woman, in 2023.

“Leftist politicians only want to talk about bringing illegal immigrants back to Maryland,” Harris added.

After more Democrats expressed an interest in visiting Abrego Garcia in El Salvador, Rep. Mark Green, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, issued a statement saying his colleagues on the Left “can use their own personal credit cards—not taxpayers’ money—to virtue-signal to their radical base.”

GOP politicians were not the only ones criticizing Van Hollen after his meeting with Abrego Garcia. The Libs of TikTok X account, which has over 4 million followers, shared a blank photo on social media with the caption, “Here’s an image of Democrat Sen. Chris Van Hollen meeting with Rachel Morin’s family who was murdered by an illegal in his state.”

Ahead of Van Vollen’s meeting with Abrego Garcia, The Daily Wire political commentator Michael Knowles made a meme of Van Hollen looking into the eyes of a man intended to represent an illegal alien gang member.

After the meeting in El Salvador, Knowles shared the image of Van Hollen and Abrego Garcia seated at a table together talking with the tongue-in-cheek caption, “He … he did. He actually did it. [Van Hollen] did my meme.”

Despite Van Hollen’s calls for Abrego Garcia to be returned to America, and U.S. courts ordering the Trump administration to “facilitate” his return, Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele says the deported illegal alien has the “honor of staying in El Salvador’s custody.”

EXCLUSIVE: The First Photos Of The FBI’s Arrest Of Major MS-13 Leader

The Daily Caller exclusively obtained the first photos of the FBI’s raid Thursday that resulted in the arrest of a major MS-13 leader.

Law enforcement arrested top MS-13 leader, Henry Josue Villatoro-Santos, in an early morning raid in Northern Virginia.

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, Virginia GOP Governor Glenn Youngkin and FBI Director Kash Patel announced the arrest at a press conference March 27. Villatoro-Santos, who was allegedly one of the top three leaders of the gang in the U.S., was caught just miles outside of Washington, D.C.

The FBI shared with the Caller the first photos of the raid, offering a behind the scenes look at the operation.

MS-13 is an international criminal syndicate that has been tied to countless murders, rapes and other heinous crimes across the country. The gang originated in Los Angeles, but is now largely associated with Salvadoran nationals.

“He was the leader for the East Coast, one of the top three in the entire country, right here in Virginia, living half an hour outside of Washington, D.C.,” Bondi said at a joint press conference. “He is an illegal alien from El Salvador and he will not be living in our country much longer.”

“America is safer today because one of the top domestic terrorists in MS-13 is off the streets,” Bondi continued.

In two photos obtained by the Caller, FBI Director Kash Patel is seen thanking agents for their work the day of the raid.

To capture Villatoro-Santos, an FBI SWAT team breached the front and rear door of his mother’s home, the New York Post reported. After agents spotted Villatoro-Santos trying to hide and refusing to surrender, agents lobbed a stun grenade and pulled him out of the house, according to the outlet.

Bondi said on Fox News’s “The Ingraham Angle” that Villatoro-Santos had been recruited to join the gang in middle school. According to officials, he had a stash of weapons, ammunition, and silencers in his garage when they found him.

Villatoro-Santos’ mother denied to WUSA9 News, a local outlet, that her son was a part of the gang.

Daily Caller Senior Editor Amber Duke asked Patel during Thursday’s press conference how long the gang member had been living in the United States.

“The bottom line is — for FAR too long … If you’re here for a minute, a day, a month, or a year you’ve been here far too long,” Patel answered.
