VIDEO: Biden’s Legacy of Character Assassination

Former VP set precedent for vicious hearings.

WASHINGTON (ChurchMilitant.com) – Joe Biden mutated Senate hearings of Supreme Court nominees into a “blood sport,” according to a Washington attorney who has worked on three Senate confirmations.

“As we head toward Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s Senate confirmation hearings on her nomination to the Supreme Court, let’s not forget that former Vice President Joe Biden is responsible for turning the high court confirmation process into a blood sport driven by character assassination,” attorney Mark Paoletta commented on Thursday.

A senior official for the Trump administration, Paoletta worked on the Senate confirmations of Supreme Court Justices Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh.

“Biden, now the Democratic presidential nominee, claims to work across the aisle with Republicans,” Paoletta observed. “But his vicious conduct as a Democratic senator from Delaware in the confirmation hearings for Robert Bork (whose nomination was not confirmed) and now-Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas is a permanent stain on the Senate’s reputation.”

Paoletta observed that Biden’s running mate, Sen. Kamala Harris, behaved in like manner during the 2018 Senate hearing for Brett Kavanaugh, smearing the now-Justice’s reputation with “baseless and absurd allegations.”

“We are fortunate that neither Biden nor Harris is chairing the confirmation hearings scheduled to begin Oct. 12 in the Judiciary Committee for [Amy Coney] Barrett, who is currently a judge on the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and was nominated to the Supreme Court Saturday by President Trump,” continued Paoletta.

Paoletta recalled President Ronald Reagan’s 1987 nomination of U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Robert Bork to the Supreme Court, noting Bork “was considered one of the finest legal scholars and well-regarded public servants in our country, earning an extremely well-qualified rating from the American Bar Association.”

“But the left — led by Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., and Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Biden — decided to savage Bork through character attacks and false claims in a craven and unprincipled tactic for political gain,” he explained.

Character Assassination of Justice Clarence Thomas

Biden behaved even worse with the smear campaign against now-Justice Clarence Thomas in 1991, according to Paoletta.

“Thomas seemed on his way to Senate confirmation with more than 60 votes when, prodded on by Democratic staff, Anita Hill lodged last-minute, baseless accusations of sexual harassment against Thomas, which were leaked by these same Democratic staffers,” Paoletta recalled.

Anita Hill accused Thomas of sexual harassment as her supervisor at the U.S. Department of Education and Department of Education and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Paoletta explained that “Biden used his position as Judiciary Committee chairman to execute the character assassination,” allowing “Hill’s lawyer to sit in on her key corroborating witness interview, bending the rules to help hype Hill’s salacious lies by trying to selectively stifle what senators could discuss.”

Spotlighting Biden’s duplicity at the time, Paoletta said:

Biden now says he always believed Hill. But that is a lie. Biden told Clarence Thomas that if Hill’s allegations were leaked, he would defend Thomas’ character. Biden told Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, during the hearings that he did not believe Hill. And Biden told Sen. Arlen Specter, R-Pa., in a 1998 interview that he did not believe Anita Hill was telling the truth.

Paoletta was with Justice Thomas the night he was confirmed when the phone rang.

“It was Joe Biden calling to congratulate Thomas on getting confirmed, telling him not to let this get him down and that Thomas had many years to show the American people what he was — a person of character,” he recollected. “Does that sound like a man who believed Anita Hill’s allegations?”

“I was a young attorney at the time and had worked closely with Thomas through that awful ordeal, and I could not believe that Biden had allowed this circus — this “national disgrace,” as Thomas called it — to happen when Biden never believed Anita Hill,” he added.

Robert Bork‘s Wife in Agreement

Published on Monday in the Wall Street Journal, Mary Ellen Bork, Robert Bork’s widow, offered comment in a piece titled, “Joe Biden and the Borking of Supreme Court Nominees.”

“The week of hearings in 1987 showed me Joe Biden’s partisanship and pragmatism,” she noted. “Most people don’t remember the hearings on Robert Bork for nomination to the Supreme Court, but I do.”

“I was there during the four months of vicious political campaigning against this judicial nominee, my husband, and in the Senate hearing room as then-Sen. Biden presided over a rigged hearing full of an unprecedented level of lying and distortion of a man known for his integrity and judicial wisdom,” she continued. “Democrats flagrantly lied about Bob’s record of opinions.”

Biden was running for president at the time.

“On day four of the hearings Sen. Biden was accused of plagiarism and had to drop out of the presidential race,” Bork remembered. “In the course of one week Sen. Biden orchestrated a vicious lying assault and was caught passing off someone else’s words as his own.”

Now, thirty-three-years later, Biden is running for president again — “still a man without a compass, guided now by prevailing progressive winds,” says Bork.

“After Bob left the court in 1988 to devote himself to writing and teaching, Democrats would often come up to him to apologize for the way the Democratic politicians treated him and would leave with tears in their eyes,” she shared. “We will all have tears in our eyes if Joe Biden is elected president.”

Robert Bork died a Catholic, having credited his wife for his conversion.

REVEALED: Notorious ‘Jewish’ Group Advocated For Anti-Semitic NY Doctor

Since its inception, Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) has devalued, demonized and delegitimized Jews living in Israel. They have defended terrorists and partnered with vile anti-Semitic organizations SJP and AMP. Now, JVP’s veil has been removed – they simply devalue Jewish life, period.

By campaigning for an anti-Semitic doctor to treat Jewish hospital patients, JVP has stooped lower than anyone could have imagined.

In March 2017, Canary Mission published the profile of medical student, Walid Khass. His social media was replete with threatening anti-Semitic posts. Khass then got placed as a medical resident at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist. However, since discovering his profile on Canary Mission in 2019, the hospital has been fighting for their right to fire Khass, citing legitimate fears for the safety of their many Jewish patients.

In September 2019, JVP wrote a shocking and deceitful letter to the hospital, advocating on Khass’s behalf. Of the grossly misleading statements in their letter, the most dangerous falsehood was a claim that, “He has never advocated violence or hatred of Jews.” In reality, Khass’s dozens of threatening tweets include “Kill the Jews” and “Go beat up a Zionist.”

Disturbingly, the New York Supreme Court ruled in favor of Khass, but the hospital is appealing the decision.

Today, an array of organizations and individuals including Canary MissionStandWithUs and Brooklyn State Assemblyman, Simcha Eichenstein, stand squarely in support of New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.

The contrast could not be starker. While the hospital is using its time and resources to advocate for Jewish patient safety, JVP uses its time and resources to advocate against the Brooklyn Jewish community and for a potentially dangerous anti-Semite.

The Democrats’ Abandonment of the Jews

In 1984, David S. Wyman, a professor of history at Amherst College, published The Abandonment of the Jews: America and the Holocaust 1941–1945, in which he documented the degree to which leftist icons like President Franklin Delano Roosevelt were presented with irrefutable evidence of Jewish genocide and did nothing to stop the mass murder of six-million Jews in Hitler’s Europe.

Jewish leaders who were given an “audience” with FDR implored him, beseeched him to intervene in this unprecedented annihilation, and showed him graphic evidence of:

  • Jews being herded into asphyxiating cattle cars on their way to concentration camps,
  • Jewish infants and children being ripped from the arms of their parents,
  • Jews clawing at the walls of gas chambers until their last gasping deaths.

But FDR did nothing! If there is blood on the hands of any politician in the last thousand years, it is on the hands of Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

And yet, leftist American Jews––to this day––celebrate his presidency.

Now we know why, thanks to a few honest historians, among them Rafael Medoff who wrote The Jews Should Keep Quiet: Franklin D. Roosevelt, Rabbi Stephen S. Wise, and the Holocaust and The Deafening Silence: American Jewish Leaders and the Holocaust, and Lucy Dawidowicz who wrote The War Against the Jews: 1933-1945.

Why? Because to leftists like FDR and his toadying adherents, nothing on earth took precedence over actualizing their political agenda, which was––and remains to this day––total government control over the immensely stupid masses, the deplorables, the people who don’t understand the imperative of handing over their destinies to the Regressive powers-that-be.

Many of the Jews who survived the Holocaust and ended up in America had already been physically, mentally and emotionally destroyed and wanted desperately to be in the good graces of anyone who promised to protect them––a sentiment that savvy leftist politicians like FDR were quick to exploit.

Aiding and abetting Roosevelt––and every Democrat regime to this day––were the leftwing media, the same media that covered for the socialist phony FDR, concealed his racism and camouflaged his anti-Semitism.

Today these media whores are doing the exact same thing in covering for the Obama-Biden regime that we now know are mobilizing their virulently anti-Semitic minions––including the Jew haters in Black Lives Matter and Antifa––to demonize Jews and Israel relentlessly and ruthlessly every day in every way.

A BRIEF RESPITE

After the Holocaust, American Jews still suffered from the vicious quotas imposed on them by major universities like Harvard and Yale, and many other institutions of “higher” learning. Also by medical schools that wouldn’t accept them and law firms that wouldn’t hire them––the reason why so many major medical institutions and powerful law practices in America were established by Jews. But for the most part florid anti-Semitism went underground because the growing awareness of Hitler’s genocide silenced even the most fanatical Jew haters.

Even though Jews had arrived on America’s shores centuries ago–– since colonial times––and loved and embraced the freedom that America promised, and contributed mightily to the betterment of our country, the metastatic virus of Jew Hatred followed them.

In response, Jewish community leaders established organizations to combat the hatred, to provide crucial and illuminating information to the uninformed, and to support political figures who enacted legislation against Jew haters and other racists.

HELP IS ON THE WAY

Jewish advocacy organizations functioned with tremendous efficacy, many for over a century, before they were contaminated and compromised––starting in the 1960s––by leftist Jews who replaced Judaism with their new-found religion of “social justice.”

Today, most of those once-powerful organizations are wholly-owned and controlled by leftist billionaires with a fetish for multiculturalism–– the notion that Jews who build symphonies and medical centers in Israel are equal to “Palestinians” who strap homicide bombs onto their three-year-olds.

They also subscribe to political correctness––the idea that organized anti-Semitic groups on college campuses throughout our country can express their hatred for Jews and Israel at will under the rubric of Free Speech, but that Jewish students who protest these assaults can be physically and verbally attacked with total impunity because of cowardly college presidents who are either anti-Semites themselves or have been handsomely paid-off by leftist moneybags or Arab money.

A particularly egregious case is that of college student Louis Shenker––chillingly documented by writer Victor Rosenthal––whose time spent at UMass made him the triple victim of the hate-conservatives/hate-Jews/hate-Trump students and its faculty which relentlessly harassed, tortured and expelled him on false grounds. Shenker’s lawyers are now asking for $27 million in penalties for the school’s violence against him.

FAKE ADVOCATES

Dozens of Jewish organizations have prostituted themselves by throwing their lot into the leftist realm, foolishly believing, against a 5,000-year history, that they––and not the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob––will prevail in determining the future of Judaism. Because of space limitations, I can only mention a few.

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL), founded in 1913, aggressively and successfully fulfilled its mission to “stop the defamation of the Jewish people” until 102 years after its founding, when in 2015, Jonathan Greenblatt became the ADL’s national director and CEO. Greenblatt worked for three far-left regimes antagonistic to Israel––the Clinton administration, the Obama fiasco, and the George Soros-funded far-left Aspen Institute. Now Mr. Greenblatt sounds deranged when he states that “only a small number” of the Black Lives Matter anarchy group don’t like Jews, when he knows full well that it is one of the most rabidly Jew- and Israel-loathing groups in the world!

According to Rabbi Aryeh Spero, president of the Conference of Jewish Affairs title, “…the ADL has made its focus the destruction of political conservatism and President Trump.  Worse, under Mr. Greenblatt, it has betrayed its original mission of fighting anti-Semites by forging a new partnership with one of America’s most notorious anti-Semites, Al Sharpton…. he has made the ADL a defamation.”

The ADL is not worth ten cents of any sane Jew’s contribution.

The Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Organizations (CoP), founded in 1956, was, as writer Jonathan S. Tobin thoroughly documents, “the central address for American-Jewish political interests.” But today many of its 53-member groups are neither “major” nor “influential—let alone representative of American Jewry,” Tobin says.

In fact, in 2020, the CoP elected Dianne Lob, the former head of the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS), a Jewish group whose purpose was to facilitate absorption of immigrants and refugees, but whose mission today is to help refugees from Muslim and other countries. According to the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA), Ms. Lob has also “collaborated with anti-Israel organizations like J Street and IfNotNow and supported noted anti-Semite Linda Sarsour.”

The CoP is not worth ten cents of any sane Jew’s contribution.

AIPAC (The American Israel Public Affairs Committee) was founded in 1951 to promote the alliance between the United States and Israel to the Senate and House of Representatives––the U.S. Congress.

For decades, AIPAC sponsored conferences in Washington, D.C. featuring prominent pro-Israel American politicians and other luminaries. I personally attended a couple of these conferences and was immensely encouraged by AIPAC’s unwavering support for always-besieged Israel.

That ended the day I saw with my own eyes all the bigwigs at AIPAC give a standing ovation to the Oval Office occupant Barack Obama––who loathed Israel, spit in the face of Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and gave Israel’s mortal enemy Iran over a billion dollars in cash to make the nukes they promised every day––to this very day––would destroy Israel forever.

AIPAC is not worth ten cents of any sane Jew’s contribution.

THE DEMOCRAT PARTY OF JEW HATE

Today, less than three months from a presidential election, the Democrat Party––long hailed as a stalwart friend of Israel and the Jewish people––has gone full-bore anti-Semitic.

All Congressional Democrats take their marching orders from Senate Minority Speaker Chuck Schumer and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, who has done the following:

  • Thrown her full support behind “the squad” of outspoken Jew haters Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), Rep Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortex (D-NY), et al.
  • Funneled $14,000 to Ilhan Omar’s campaign as well as endorsed both Omar and Tlaib against moderates running against them.
  • Had not one word of objection when Ocasio-Cortez, the leader of the anti-Israel campaign, threatened to cut off military aid to Israel.

As writers Jeff Ballabon and Bruce Abramson describe in repulsive detail, in “The Democrats Declare a Jew Ban,” Biden’s 2020 presidential platform treats “Jews and Israel as pariahs, uniquely worthy of discriminatory treatment.  It makes a mockery of Israel as a sovereign state and an American ally. It directly aligns the Biden campaign—and the entire Party—with Israel’s mortal enemies.”

The writers continue: “Outgoing Secretary of State Kerry announced that when Democrats were back in power they would punish Israel for its stubborn refusal to be bullied into suicidal positions ‘for the sake of peace.’ Biden’s platform delivers on that threat.”

JEWISH POLITICAL STUPIDITY EXPLAINED

In a tour-de-force article in which she lists dozens of anti-Semitic actions taken by Democrat Party elected officials and supporters, writer Valerie Sobel spells out why a “resounding 72-74% majority of the 5.4-million American Jews have backed the Party since the sun has risen in the East.”

“We get it, Sobel elaborates, “you’re for minority rights because you will forever identify as a minority. You’re forever for JFK even though his brand of liberalism is long gone and has actually morphed into modern conservatism. You’re forever for FDR, even though it was the Republican Ronald Reagan who delivered approximately 3,000,000 Soviet Jews from bondage of anti-Semitic leftist oppression. The Democratic Party of the 1950s was the party of the underdog, and you’re forever the underdog, in your mind….”

Alluding to the upcoming vote in November, Sobel says that it’s not the 1950s anymore, and “after the devastating failure of your Party to stand with Jews unequivocally against the rabid Nazi-era anti-Semitism of Democrat Congresswoman [Ihlan] Omar, you stand in the final hour of a critical decision, depleted of all excuses for your political loyalty. And you know it.”

Yoo Hoo, Jewish Democrats, it is long overdue for you to wake up and smell the now-contaminated coffee. A vote for Joe Biden is a full-on endorsement of the poisonous Jew hatred that has commandeered the Democrat Party and told you––meaning all Jews including left-wingers––that they hate you personally and they hate Israel so much that they share the identical mission of the mullahs in Iran to literally exterminate the only Jewish state in existence.

Your choice.

Why Biden Said ‘Inshallah’ During the Debate

RELATED VIDEO: Bill Warner feels that now that Biden has used the phrase, “Inshe’allah” it is time for the following video:

One of the most revealing moments of last night’s debate was one that most people probably missed. BuzzFeed’s Hamed Aleaziz was overjoyed, tweeting that it was “a historic moment in America.” Over at Slate, Aymann Ismail added that “as terrible as this debate night was, at least a few of us had this moment.”

This glorious occasion came when Donald Trump stated that he would eventually release his tax returns: “I’ve paid millions of dollars, and you’ll get to see it.” Joe Biden responded: “When? Inshallah,” using Arabic for “God willing,” a phrase that is often used in the context of procrastination.

Some Muslims were excited about Biden’s colloquial use of the phrase, so as to mean “This is not likely to happen.” “Interfaith and anti-racism educator” Hind Makki tweeted: “Whenever someone who’s not Muslim drops an inshallah in conversation, I assume they have Muslim colleagues. When they know to use it colloquially [sarcastically], I know they have close Muslim friends.”

These were just the sort of reactions Biden was doubtless hoping for. Arabic-speaking Christians as well as Muslims say “Inshallah,” but in saying this, Biden was not pandering to Arabic-speaking Christians; he was pandering to the part of his base (Muslim and non-Muslim) that believes that counterterror efforts are largely just an exercise in “Islamophobia” and supports the likes of Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib. With the world watching, Biden was demonstrating his support for the Left’s favored religion, Islam. He wouldn’t have said the phrase in English, “God willing,” because his point was not primarily to emphasize that Trump was going to procrastinate in releasing his tax returns; it was to show in a concise, albeit indirect fashion that he was a worthy candidate of the anti-American hard left, a reliable foe of the alleged “Muslim ban,” and a fervent proponent of mass migration.

For Biden has to earn the love of the increasingly dominant hard-left wing of his party. Trump several times last night maneuvered Biden into repudiating pet causes of the far left, notably the Green New Deal, for which Biden affirms support on his own website. This is likely to cause him some difficulty with the most radical of his supporters, for they have already made clear that they’ve got the Democratic nominee on a short leash.

The notorious anti-Semite and former Women’s March leader Linda Sarsour made that clear in July when she declared “I choose Biden” and then immediately began making clear that her support was decidedly conditional: “But I choose him as my opponent in the White House. I want him to defeat Trump so we can mobilize our movements to hold him accountable and push him to do and be better. We can’t do that with Trump.”

Sarsour explained that she and her supporters had supported Bernie Sanders “because he earned our votes & we need Biden to continue to do the same.” She elaborated: “When Joe Biden does the right thing, you better believe Linda Sarsour’s going to say, ‘You know what? Thank you so much President Joe Biden for doing the right thing.’ And when President Joe Biden doesn’t do the right thing our community needs to come together and hold him accountable.”

Biden may have been trying to relieve some of this pressure and win more of the confidence of the far-left by making use of this expression that is common among the adherents of the religion that leftists love most, but it didn’t work with everyone. Journalist Tamer El-Ghobashy huffed: “Biden’s use of inshallah was kinda colonial and derogatory if you ask me.” El-Ghobashy added: “The sarcasm of it reminded me of every mid-level state department dweeb I ever met in Iraq.”

Poor old Joe. What does he have to do or say to allay suspicions that he will not be a faithful servant of the socialist, internationalist, pro-migration, anti-counterterror agenda? His repudiation of the Green New Deal and more last night will not help him with the adherents of that agenda, but they likely understand that Joe was simply saying what he had to say to get out of the corner Trump had backed him into.

They understand, after all, the helpful principle enunciated by that master politician, Muhammad, the prophet of Islam: “War is deceit.” Joe Biden very clearly has grasped that principle as well.

Cardinal Says Biden Not a Catholic in Good Standing. Shouldn’t Receive Communion. Would the Pope Agree?

The Catholic News Agency reported Tuesday that Cardinal Raymond Burke, “a canon lawyer and formerly the prefect of the Church’s highest court, has said that Catholic politicians supporting abortion should not receive Holy Communion, including pro-choice Catholic presidential candidate Joe Biden.” That’s the kind of statement that makes you formerly the “prefect of the Church’s highest court.”

Biden, Burke asserted, “is not a Catholic in good standing and he should not approach to receive Holy Communion,” because “a Catholic may not support abortion in any shape or form because it is one of the most grievous sins against human life.”

If that is the case, then Biden is clearly not a Catholic in good standing. Accordingly, Burke stated, “I would tell him not to approach Holy Communion out of charity toward him, because that would be a sacrilege, and a danger to the salvation of his own soul. But also he should not approach to receive Holy Communion because he gives scandal to everyone. Because if someone says ‘well, I’m a devout Catholic’ and at the same time is promoting abortion, it gives the impression to others that it’s acceptable for a Catholic to be in favor of abortion and of course it’s absolutely not acceptable. It never has been, it never will be.”

The good Cardinal is right in a sense. That is indeed the teaching of the Catholic Church. But teaching is one thing and practice is quite enough. Pope Francis has repeatedly made it clear that as far as he is concerned, the real sins, the real serious sins that get you a tongue-lashing from the Roman Pontiff and doubtless a date with hellfire in the age to come, are opposing mass Muslim migration into the West and believing that Islam is not a religion of peace. Abortion? Come on, man! That’s child’s play, so to speak, compared to the big sins.

Last September, Pope Francis, who back in 2014 fired Burke from his position as “prefect of the Church’s highest court,” made clear what the big sins really are as far as he is concerned, when he emphasized that Christians had a responsibility before God to take in migrants: “This loving care for the less privileged is presented as a characteristic trait of the God of Israel and is likewise required, as a moral duty, of all those who would belong to his people.”

On that same occasion, the Pope unveiled a huge statue in St. Peter’s Square, “Angels Unawares,” which depicts a boat full of migrants and a pair of angel wings, so as to emphasize that the migrants into Europe, among whom have been numerous jihad terrorists, rapists, and other criminals, are saintly and deserving of Christians’ support and protection.

What about Christians in Europe who are concerned about the spiraling crime rates and the strain on the welfare systems of nations that have taken in large numbers of migrants? Are they allowed to exercise charity toward their neighbors and friends by opposing mass migration and trying to preserve and defend their own cultural heritage?

Not on your life. Or at least they can’t do that and remain Catholics in good standing. And Francis’ Brave New Church has other newly-minted “grievous sins” as well. The Pontiff has claimed risibly that “authentic Islam and the proper reading of the Koran are opposed to every form of violence.” As ridiculous and readily disproven as this is, it has become a superdogma in the Catholic Church: if you don’t believe that Islam is a Religion of Peace, you will be ruthlessly harassed and silenced by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) and the hierarchy elsewhere as well. The bishops of the Catholic Church are much more concerned that you believe that Islam is a religion of peace than that you believe in, say, the Nicene Creed. And so what possible reason could there be to be concerned about these “refugees”? It’s a religion of peace!

As of several years ago, the U.S. Catholic bishops had 91 million reasons — indeed, 534 million reasons — to turn against the truth and disregard the safety and security of the American people: “In the Fiscal Year 2016, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) received more than $91 million in government funding for refugee resettlement. Over the past nine years, the USCCB has received a total of $534,788,660 in taxpayer dollars for refugee resettlement programs.” And how much have pro-life organizations given to the Church in that span? Not $534,788,660.

As Ilhan Omar might say, it’s all about the Benjamins.

And so Cardinal Burke may say Biden is barred from Communion, but it’s certain that there are numerous others who will readily administer Communion to the candidate. After all, he’s right on the really important things.

“Leave them; they are blind guides. And if a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit.” (Matthew 15:14)

Christians Need Not Apply?

Should being an active Christian bar you from public service? Yes, say many pundits today. It would seem that the left wants to impose a religious test to bar anyone who truly believes in Jesus from serving in government.

The death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg left a vacancy on the Supreme Court. In the days following her death, all of the candidates on President Trump’s shortlist to replace her were dedicated Christians, and the left once again bared their anti-Christian bigotry.

The Constitution says there can be no religious test applied to those seeking office at the federal level (Article 6, clause 3).

A famous incident in 2017 involved California Senator Diane Feinstein scorning Catholic judge, Amy Coney Barrett (who is now Trump’s nominee to fill the Supreme Court vacancy), for being too religious. The senator said, “I think whatever a religion is, it has its own dogma. The law is totally different. And I think in your case, professor, when you read your speeches, the conclusion one draws is that the dogma lives loudly within you, and that’s of concern.”

Washington Post writer Ron Charles recently criticized Judge Barrett because of her belief that a “legal career is but a means to an end … and that end is building the Kingdom of God.”

When George W. Bush, an outspoken Christian, was president, one of his biggest antagonists (at least behind the scenes) was George Soros. The billionaire venture-capitalist is committed to a secular vision for America. Soros has paid out billions of dollars to try and impose his godless vision on America. With Bush 43 in mind, Soros said, “The separation of church and state, the bedrock of our democracy, is clearly undermined by having a born-again president.”

These are amazing statements. Why not just hang out a sign on Constitution Avenue: “Government Service Openings: Christians Need Not Apply”?

One man had the impertinence to hold a different opinion than these. He said, “Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty, as well as the privilege of interest of our Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers.”

Oh my goodness. Who was this backwoods rube? Didn’t he know anything about the Constitution and about our nation’s sacred institutions—er, make that “secular institutions”? That quote was from founding father John Jay, one of the three authors of the Federalist Papers, perhaps the finest political science writings in American history. John Jay was appointed by President Washington to serve as the first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States.

I spoke recently with my friend Dr. Peter Lillback of the Providence Forum on the radio, and I mentioned the Diane Feinstein quote to him. He noted that we could turn it around and observe that Senator Feinstein is also dogmatic. But her dogma is one rooted in secularism.

Gary DeMar of American Vision puts it this way: “The left hates any ‘dogma’ that questions their ‘dogma.”’

Meanwhile, an honest reading of American history shows that faith—the Christian faith—was very important to most of the settlers and the founders of America:

  • This year we celebrate the 400th anniversary of the voyage of the Mayflower. The Pilgrims said they were establishing their colony “for the glory of God and the advancement of the Christian faith.”
  • Rev. John Winthrop, the leader of the Puritans who founded Boston and Harvard, said of their colony, “For we shall be as a city upon a hill,” providing a metaphor for the future nation that ultimately came from Jesus Himself.
  • George Washington said, “[T]rue religion affords to government its surest support.”
  • In his Inaugural Address, John Adams said, “I feel it to be my duty to add, if a veneration for the religion of a people who profess and call themselves Christians, and a fixed resolution to consider a decent respect for Christianity among the best recommendations for the public service…” [emphasis added] Rather than prevent one from serving, being a devout Christian is an asset to one’s service in government, said our second president.
  • Alexander Hamilton expressed his desire to create “the Christian Constitutional Society,” but his premature death scuttled his plans.
  • Thomas Jefferson, certainly not as orthodox as most of the other founders, nonetheless said, “Of all the systems of morality ancient or modern, which have come under my observation, none appear to me so pure as that of Jesus.” (Letter to William Canby, September 18, 1813).

The dogmatic anti-Christian bigots in our society are very wrong in their notion that being a devout Christian should somehow disqualify you from public service. The idea that there’s some sort of anti-Christian magnet over the threshold of government buildings does not comport with our history nor with our Constitution.

VIDEO: The Vortex — American vs. Catholic. It’s finally comes down to this.

TRANSCRIPT

Church Militant (a 501(c)4 corporation) is responsible for the content of this commentary.

The world of politics is the arena in which the culture and the Church are now colliding head-on in a war for the ages. It’s taken a man like Trump to actually set the stage for this epic battle, to set the table for everything to come together.

For example, in a stunning admission this past weekend, in light of the announcement of Catholic Amy Coney Barrett by Trump to the Supreme Court, New York Times columnist Elizabeth Bruenig just flat out said, “Judge Barrett’s nomination has merely renewed attention to a fundamental conflict, centuries underway, between Catholicism and the American ethos.”

Well, at least Bruenig has the decency to be upfront about her anti-Catholic bigotry. Most of her Marxist-minded allies do not. But more and more of them are beginning to speak of actual Catholics as some sort of pariahs, speaking of us in terms of the enemies of the State.

It’s not been that long in this country since Catholics were treated as the enemy. It was really only in the wake of World War II where Catholic servicemen fought alongside millions of their non-Catholic American brothers-in-arms that we caught a break.

Ten years later, Abp. Fulton Sheen was dominating the airwaves, speaking of Catholic majesty and truth and virtue. His Life Is Worth Living television show was the number-one-rated show when it aired from 1952 till 1956. He even won the Emmy award for “Most Outstanding Television Personality” in the show’s first year.

Sheen — American born and Catholic formed — was a strident patriot and a zealous anti-communist. He often railed against the evil of Marxism, even famously saying of Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin on the air, “Stalin must one day meet his judgment.” The next week, Stalin hit the floor, dead from a stroke.

Of course, this was all nearly 70 years ago, and a lot has changed in America since then. America has Marxist creep. It has become this way because the American experiment is based on the foundation of a virtuous people. Once virtue leaves the room, chaos sets in. Sheen never had to talk about widespread ills of our society — fatherless children, shattered families, an acceptance of homosexuality, abortion as the most common surgical procedure performed in the country.

It was precisely to prevent evils like this that Sheen preached to begin with. Yet here we are, a nation sunk so low that many are questioning, “Is America on life support; is this its demise?” Despite this past weekend’s prayer rally organized by Frankin Graham (with a conspicuous absence of Catholic bishops, incidentally) the large gathering of thousands does not mask that America has traded vice for virtue.

Little by little, each election cycle, fewer believers vote, ultimately because there are simply fewer believers to vote. The scales are at the tipping point, and soon, barring some action by Heaven, they will complete their tilt toward godlessness, enshrining immorality into law and eviscerating any opposition to that what Bruening calls “the American ethos.”

What has happened though is that what she describes as the American ethos is little else than a sophisticated way to speak of Marxism. Her American ethos is as far from the actual American ethos as James Martin’s version of Catholicism is from actual Catholicism — which is to say light-years away.

Anti-Catholicism will soon become etched into that new ethos if the Marxists win this election. In some ways, in fact, it already has. President Trump had to actually come out this past weekend and address the entire topic of anti-Catholicism.

Now the last battle is being waged in the arena of politics. A win here for the Marxists means it’s over. Time will be all there is standing between faithful Catholics and those who want to destroy them. Consider, almost a hundred Catholic parishes or shrines around the nation have been vandalized this year.

Faithful Catholics have been insulted, spit on at pro-life prayer sessions and vilified in the media for defending Catholic teachings. This will not go away if Biden wins. It will increase — it will, in fact, come to be blessed by the State (for how else should an enemy of the State be treated?).

The case could be made — strongly — that 70 years ago, America was on the verge of becoming Catholic. But that was not to happen. Many of the religious orders — even back then — had already been penetrated (as well as Catholic colleges and universities).

The seminaries were beginning to stink of subtle heresy. The Church had been neatly prepared to be offered up to the Sexual Revolution of the 1960s. By that time, enough of the hierarchy had become corrupt — doctrinally, liturgically, financially or sexually, or in some cases, all of the above.

A giant structure of the Church in America had been constructed in those first hundred or so years, and it would take a number of generations to dismantle it. But over the decades, dismantle it they did — the enemies of Christ inside the Church we’re speaking of.

Their champion is Joe Biden; he is the very model of everything the current American ethos is about. And he is the very model at the same time of all that fraudulent Catholicism is about. He is the son of the fraudulent Church of Nice, and those in his entourage would turn around and smash the authentic Church to pieces.

Understand, Catholics who actually believe, understand everything that is at stake here.

VIDEO: The Vortex — Gay Democratic Bishops

Actual honesty would be refreshing.

TRANSCRIPT

It’s not really shocking that, in a political landscape dominated by identity politics, certain “types” would gravitate around one party or another, one candidate or another. It’s not really hard and fast — or a guarantee — but the Marxist media assures us it is the case, so it must be true. Remember, even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then.

So, buzzing around the Biden-Harris ticket are child-murderers; homosexual activists; climate-change fanatics; illegal-immigration, open-border enthusiasts; poorly catechized Catholics and so forth. You know — the Marxists. Trump, of course, has pretty much the other end of the spectrum: Patriots, pro-lifers, religious-minded and so forth. You know — actual Americans.

There is some crossover (but not much, particularly in the increasingly polarized society). But there’s another group that kind of gets to fly under the radar, but which really bears much closer scrutiny. That group is the U.S. bishops. And that body deserves much scrutiny because of the disproportionate influence they have over voters.

It’s not that the individual Catholic voter hangs on every word emanating from the U.S. hierarchy (thank God), but they have created an environment through decades of deceit, deception and distortion that gives the impression that the Catholic Church aligns better with the Democratic Party than Republicans.

But it doesn’t. Not even close. The Democratic Party platform supports outright intrinsic evils while also denying natural law. But there are bishops in the U.S. who are all down with that evil, and Church Militant thinks that those bishops should just come clean and stop hiding behind each other’s skirts.

We all know that a sizable number of clergy are homosexual. Even James Martin admits that. Heck, he even upbraided them and said they all need to come out of the closet and fess up. You’ll rarely hear this out of Church Militant’s mouth, but we agree with Martin. He should start with himself: Admit it or deny it, Father — come on.

But he is certainly not alone. How about Lexington, Kentucky bishop John Stowe. How about it Bishop? Are you a homosexual? We mean, why should you get to abuse your office to promote all kinds of moral filth, pretending you don’t have a dog in the fight. You house the anti-Catholic “Fortunate Families” outfit in your diocese, you speak at gay conferences like New Ways Ministry and you even share the stage with known homopredator clerics. But that sexual abuse is okay, right — because it’s all in “the family”?

Look, if you’re a big, ol’ queen, fine. We can use that as a jumping-off point to start talking about all this. But until you come clean, you can’t be taken seriously because you’re fundamentally dishonest and untrustworthy. And is there anything else that can be said more disgraceful of a successor of the Apostles?

So when you publish social media posts about how evil President Trump is, why should anyone listen? You haven’t shown your cards — and we suspect you may have two or three queens. Speaking of gay bishops, how about Joseph Bambera of Scranton, Pennsylvania who has had James Martin in the diocese so many times to promote sodomy that it raises questions about what’s really going on there.

Bambera is so effeminate that some of his own clergy call him “Bambi,” and Bambera has been outed previously by Church Militant as a registered Democrat. You know, a card-carrying member of the party that hacks up little children and sells their pieces for profits and also promotes gay sex like nobody’s business.

Giving Bambi the benefit of a doubt in presuming he doesn’t actually support the chopping up of little babies, whatever could be his reason for remaining in the party? While abortion is the religion of the Marxists, taxpayer-supported, non-stop, constitutionally protected gay sex is a really close second. So why would any bishop be a Democrat and throw his support behind child murderers and gay sex? To protect the spotted owl? Seriously? Come on!

These exact same questions can be asked of Cupich in Chicago, McElroy in San Diego, Tobin in Newark and in quite a number of other places, some of which might escape scrutiny the first time around. The question is simple: Are you gay? Yes or No? Given the current climate in the Church and the world, every single Catholic has a right to know that.

Long gone are the days when bishops could be trusted — many of them even admit that. Good. At least that’s a start. We won’t go into the reasons we can’t believe you or trust you; the list would need two eternities to be read aloud in its entirety. But a major reason you can’t be trusted is because so many of you are homosexuals in hiding, working to destroy the Church from within. And you need to say out loud, all of you (which I suspect is a pretty sizable number, if you are homosexual.

A simple “yes” or “no” would do. But of course, that will open up another set of questions for those of you who are gay. For example, how much do you let your sexual inclinations and attractions influence your politics, doctrine and well, frankly, your personal lives? It’s abominable, given your track record, that you think we don’t have a right to know this.

Of course we do. Faithful Catholics should be picketing your residences and chanceries demanding to know if you are homosexual. Much of the gay world supports the Democratic Party and brain-dead Biden. But you already know that, of course. You hate the religious air that surrounds the Republican Party, even if it is thin, questionable or even somewhat imagined.

You gay bishops hate God. You hate Scripture. James Martin even tweeted out that the Bible does say homosexuality is wrong and bad and all, but he added the Bible is wrong. Most importantly, you hate the Church. Admittedly, some of you have this love-hate relationship with the Church — you live with a tortured conscience, longing to have sex with men, maybe even actually doing so, but also knowing it’s wrong. And you are unable to come to terms with the inner conflict.

You need to resign. You need to get out now and save your soul. And if you need a little help, then call on the laity. You all may not like it but what the Era of Trump has caused is the great unmasking — pun intended. Everyone is now learning where everyone else stands on everything, and as a result, everyone is realigning themselves.

We think that all you bishops should join the party. Come out of the closet. Like you buddy Jimmy says, come screaming out and declare what you are. It’s probably safe to say that — while there would be a few surprises — most of you aren’t gonna shock any of us. We already know who you are by the way you direct your politics.

We know many of you ran deep into the closet in seminary and have made a pretty comfortable life for yourselves. Well, time’s up. Many of you are gay Democrats, which admittedly is kind of redundant. But regardless, your people need to start asking you. They need to go up to you after Mass (whether it’s in Detroit, New York, Washington, D.C. or Fort Worth, and flat out ask you, “Are you gay?”

If there was ever a time for total exposure in the Church, this is the time. What the faithful need to understand is a large number of these men are more gay than they are Catholic, and they are doing everything they can think of to get you to vote Democrat. It’s just helpful to know where a person stands. Nothing wrong with that, right your excellencies? A little actual honesty would be refreshing.

Presidential Message on the National Day of Prayer and Return, 2020

On this inaugural National Day of Prayer and Return, the First Lady and I join millions of Christians here in the United States and around the world in prayer, as we turn our hearts to our Lord and Savior.

Our great Nation was founded by men and women of deep and abiding faith—a faith that has stood the test of time.  Four hundred years ago, early American settlers trusted their lives to His providence and braved a voyage to a New World.  From the pilgrims who sought His protection aboard the Mayflower to the countless believers who today bow their heads to ask for His guidance during these unprecedented times, our country continues to turn to the Lord.  Following in our ancestors’ footsteps we continue the “firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence” that provides us enduring strength and reassurance in our times of need.

The trials and tribulations the American people have faced over the past several months have been great.  Yet, as we have seen time and again, the resolve of our citizenry—fortified by our faith in God—has guided us through these hardships and helped to unite us as one Nation under God.  As we continue to combat the challenges ahead of us, we must remember the sage words of President George Washington during his first Presidential Address: “propitious smiles of heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right, which Heaven itself has ordained.”  As a country and a people, let us renew our commitment to these abiding and timeless principles.

Today, I am pleased to join my voice to yours in thanking God for blessing this nation with great power and responsibility.  With reverence, humility, and thanksgiving, we beg for His continued guidance and protection.

Tens of Thousands Gather for Prayer March Because ‘Things Change When You Pray’

A crowd gathered on the National Mall in Washington on Saturday to pray for the country at a time of deep national divisions.

“I think that things change when you pray,” said Sofia Swiger, 16, standing with her father on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. “It makes a big difference to come together as Christians and agree together to pray for our country.”

Led by evangelist Franklin Graham, the son of the late Billy Graham and the president and CEO Samaritan’s Purse, the Prayer March 2020 was attended by Christian and political leaders, including Vice President Mike Pence and his wife, Karen Pence. “Organizers say up to 50,000 people attended,” reported NBC4 Washington.

“Today, at this Washington prayer march, you continue a great American tradition,” Pence said, his voice reaching the mass gathering, which stretched from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial to the Reflecting Pool, through large speakers. “Since the founding of our nation, the American people and our leaders have gone to prayer in challenging times.”

The vice president asked those gathered to remember to pray for all those serving within the administration, in Congress, and on the Supreme Court, noting that the “sweetest words” he and the president hear from fellow Americans are “I’m praying for you.”

The march stepped off from the Lincoln Memorial and ended at the U.S. Capitol. Participants were asked to stop and pray at seven different locations down the National Mall with a specific prayer focus assigned to each stop.

Pausing at the World War II Memorial to pray for members of the military and law enforcement, and for the peace and security of the nation, Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, prayed, “May the transcendent truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ be released upon this nation as we stand with courage and selflessness and bravery.”

A prayer and repentance event called “The Return” took place on the National Mall on Friday night and all day Saturday in tandem with the prayer march.

Both events drew participants from around the country who said they felt compelled to intercede on behalf of America at this moment in history.

Carrie Spears, 58, traveled all the way from Portland, Oregon, to pray for the country because “without repentance, and without prayer, there won’t be any change,” she told The Daily Signal.

“People just need to acknowledge God, Him, as the supreme authority over life,” Spears said.

A message of repentance, particularly focused on the abortion of more than 60 million unborn babies, was central to Saturday’s event.

We have sacrificed our children, Jonathan Cahn, author of “The Harbinger,” said to thousands on the Mall and others watching online.

“To shed the blood of an unborn baby is to murder a human life, and the most innocent of human lives,” he added.

“Without repentance, there can be no revival,” Cahn repeated throughout his message Saturday morning.

Many churches and schools brought busloads of people to the event, including Liberty University, a private Christian university in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Caleb Hawthorn, 18, a freshman at Liberty, told The Daily Signal that he was one of about 2,200 of the university’s students to drive more than three hours to Washington for Saturday’s march.

“There is so much polarization in the country at the moment between racial injustice and, like, everything that is going on,” Hawthorn said. “If everybody just took time to breathe and pray for everybody and be kind to each other, I think it would be a lot better than where we are now.”

Graham closed the march outside the U.S. Capitol by encouraging Americans to continue to pray for the nation because “we are at a crucial point in this country,” adding:

There are people who are wanting to manipulate the direction of this country, and we just need to pray that God will intervene.

The Return

A Note for our Readers:

Democratic Socialists say, “America should be more like socialist countries such as Sweden and Denmark.” And millions of young people believe them…

For years, “Democratic Socialists” have been growing a crop of followers that include students and young professionals. America’s future will be in their hands.

How are socialists deluding a whole generation? One of their most effective arguments is that “democratic socialism” is working in Scandinavian countries like Sweden and Norway. They claim these countries are “proof” that socialism will work for America. But they’re wrong. And it’s easy to explain why.

Our friends at The Heritage Foundation just published a new guide that provides three irrefutable facts that debunks these myths. For a limited time, they’re offering it to readers of The Daily Signal for free.

VIDEO: The Vortex — Trump’s Nominee

WASHINGTON (ChurchMilitant.com) – President Trump has announced Judge Amy Coney Barret as his pick for the Supreme Court.

He made the announcement Saturday evening in the Rose Garden to a standing ovation, with Barrett accompanied by her husband and seven children. Maureen Scalia, widow to Justice Antonin Scalia, who once said of Barrett that she was his best student, was also present.

“Law and order is the foundation of the American system of justice,” said Trump. “No matter the issue, no matter the case before her, I am supremely confident Judge Amy Coney Barrett will issue fair rulings based on the law.”

He also hinted at the difficult confirmation battle ahead, and made a plea to Democrats “to refrain from personal or partisan attacks.”

Barrett took to the podium to thank the president, promising to carry out her duties faithfully.

“If the Senate does me the honor of confirming me, I pledge to discharge the responsibility of this job to the very best of my responsibility,” she said. “I love the United States, and I love the United States Constitution.”

In an ode to her mentor Scalia, she said of her judicial philosophy, “The law must be applied as written. Judges are not policy makers.”

A Distinguished Career

Barrett is a graduate of Notre Dame Law School, graduating summa cum laude and going on to serve as law clerk to Judge Laurence Silberman on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals. She afterwards clerked for the man to whom she is considered ideological heir: the late Justice Scalia on the U.S. Supreme Court.

She taught at Notre Dame Law School for 15 years, and was among hundreds of signatories to a 2012 letter objecting to an accommodation in the HHS Contraception Mandate in Obamacare, described as an “assault on religious liberty and the rights of conscience” of religiously affiliated employers.

Her prolific writings and jurisprudence embody an originalist approach to the Constitution, and a rejection of the activist model followed by jurists who fail to separate personal preference or political ideology from law.

“A judge is obligated to apply the law as it is and not as she wishes it would be,” said Barrett at a 2019 speech at Hillsdale College. “She’s obliged to follow the law even when her personal preferences cut the other way, or when she will experience great public criticism for doing so.”

Barrett has been a member of the influential Federalist Society, founded in 1982 and describing itself as “a group of conservatives and libertarians dedicated to reforming the current legal order.”

A Catholic mother of seven, with two children adopted from Haiti and one child with Down Syndrome, the 48-year-old is hailed by conservatives and liberals alike as a person of integrity and intelligence.

When she was nominated in 2017 for the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, every law clerk who served at the Supreme Court during Barrett’s time there in 1998 — including clerks for Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen Breyer — wrote a letter supporting her nomination.

“Professor Barrett is a woman of remarkable intellect and character. She is eminently qualified for the job,” the letter states. “This view is unanimous — every law clerk from October Term 1998 has joined this letter.”

Fellow Notre Dame Law Professor Richard Garnett wrote of her in 2018,

Barrett is careful, conscientious, civil, and charitable, and blessed with an unusual combination of decency, grace under pressure, kindness, rigor, and judgment. If nominated and confirmed, she would be an outstanding justice, committed to the rule of law and to the faithful performance of her judicial duty.

Professor Carter Snead, also of Notre Dame Law School, recently said of her, “She puts people at ease because she always puts the needs of other people, and that includes students, in front of her own — which is very unusual in the world of people who perform at the level she does.”

And former student Laura Wolk, the first blind woman to clerk on the Supreme Court, credits her success to Barrett, while defending her former professor’s Catholic faith: “The warmth and compassion that Judge Barrett has shown me on so many occasions flow from the same wellspring of faith for which she is now so excoriated.”

Roe v. Wade

The landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade case will be front and center in the confirmation battle.

Unlike Trump’s previous nominee, Brett Kavanaugh, who was replacing the moderate Justice Anthony Kennedy, Barrett would be filling the seat of liberal icon Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who devoted her judicial career to advancing abortion from the bench. And it is the right to abortion the Left finds under greatest threat with Barrett’s nomination.

While Barrett is a devout Catholic and pro-life, she has made clear she will not approach the Constitution from an ideological standpoint. An acknowledged originalist, she believes the historical context and meaning of the Constitution must be taken into account in its interpretation; but she also recognizes the role of stare decisis (precedent).

Even so, she has clarified that precedent — especially when it is bad law — is not insurmountable. And Roe is widely criticized by conservative and liberal jurists alike as poorly reasoned and bad law.

Even Justice Ginsburg regretted the decision, saying of Roe that the Court had gone too far, “fashion[ing] a regime blanketing the subject, a set of rules that displaced virtually every state law then in force.”

Roe‘s harshest critics, including Justice Clarence Thomas, have described the case as creating a right to abortion “out of whole cloth.”

“Our abortion precedents are grievously wrong and should be overruled,” Thomas wrote in a scathing dissent in June Medical Services v. Russo (2020). “The idea that the Framers of the Fourteenth Amendment understood the Due Process Clause to protect a right to abortion is farcical.”

Barrett has signaled her own opinion that Roe is not beyond reversal.

“Stare decisis is not a hard-and-fast rule in the Court’s constitutional cases, and the Court has not been afraid to exercise its prerogative to overrule precedent,” she wrote in a 2013 Texas Law Review article. “Moreover, members of the public (and particularly elites) regularly argue that the Court should overrule certain of its cases.”

“If anything, the public response to controversial cases like Roe reflects public rejection of the proposition that stare decisis can declare a permanent victor in a divisive constitutional struggle rather than desire that precedent remain forever unchanging,” she added.

Barrett’s supporters are bracing for a difficult confirmation battle, with questions that will likely swirl around her faith and how it may impact her rulings from the High Court bench.

Linda Sarsour In Louisville: The Leftist/Islamic Alliance in Action

Sharia-adherent leftist activist and former Women’s March leader Linda Sarsour tweeted Wednesday: “Justice has NOT been served. Rise UP. All across this country. Everywhere. Rise up for #BreonnaTaylor.”

She meant it: yesterday evening Sarsour, who was bounced from the Women’s March leadership because of her anti-Semitism, was spotted in video from Louisville, walking among protesters and apparently leading them to their next destination. Sarsour’s presence among demonstrators in Louisville, many of whom quickly began rioting (two police officers were shot), was yet another example of the leftist/Islamic alliance.

We saw two other such examples during the riots in New York City several months ago. Urooj Rahman, a Muslim lawyer and activist for the Palestinian jihad, threw a Molotov cocktail into a police cruiser, and in Brooklyn, a Muslim migrant from Bosnia named Dzenan Camovic stabbed an NYPD officer, Yayonfrant Jean Pierre, in the neck while screaming “Allahu akbar.”

Sarsour’s presence in Louisville was no real surprise. She was arrested in Louisville on August 25 at “BreonnaCon,” an earlier protest over the death of Taylor. Back on May 27, she tweeted: “‘A riot,’ Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, ‘is the language of the unheard.’ #JusticeForFloyd.”

Sarsour is also an unapologetic defender of Sharia. As far back as September 22, 2011, Sarsour tweeted: “shariah law is reasonable and once u read into the details it makes a lot of sense. People just know the basics.” Her position didn’t change over time. On May 12, 2015, she tweeted: “If you are still paying interest than Sharia Law hasn’t taken over America. #justsaying.” And on April 10, 2016, Sarsour tweeted about Sharia again: “Sharia Law is misunderstood & has been pushed as some evil Muslim agenda.”

Sarsour tweeted on March 8, 2011: “Brigitte Gabriel = Ayaan Hirsi Ali. She’s asking 4 an a$$ whippin’. I wish I could take their vaginas away – they don’t deserve to be women.” This call for physical violence against someone she hated was a harbinger of things to come, but it received no notice among her sycophants on the left. After all, why would it? They’re committed to the same violence.

Linda Sarsour is also a practiced purveyor of the grievance-mongering that keeps the rioters’ ranks full. She is an energetic purveyor of the “Islamophobia” myth and has hysterically claimed that “Muslim kids” are being “executed” in the United States. She was instrumental in prevailing upon New York Mayor Bill de Blasio to end legal and necessary surveillance in Muslim communities in New York. She was also a frequent visitor to the Obama White House, and even claimed that the jihad underwear bomber was a CIA agent — part of what she claims is a U.S. war against Islam. She is also an enthusiastic supporter of the “Palestinian” jihad against Israel and has even claimed that feminists cannot and must not support Israel.

This is the left today. Sarsour’s anti-Semitism, her embrace of Sharia, her paranoid “Islamophobia” conspiracy-mongering – all that is the mainstream left now. For Linda Sarsour is not alone; other Muslim activists in the U.S. have actively fostered this alliance. Zahra Billoo, Executive Director of the San Francisco Bay Area office of the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-SFBA), tweeted: “Non-Black POC, first and second generation immigrant Muslims friends in particular, what are you doing today to support #BlackLivesMatter?” Imraan Siddiqi of CAIR-Arizona tweeted out a video of a hijab-wearing Muslim woman kicking a tear gas canister toward police with the approving comment, “Drop-kick that tear-gas canister, sister.”

Meanwhile, not long ago in Los Angeles, rioters were so grieved and angered by Floyd’s death that they spray-painted “Free Palestine” on the wall of a synagogue. This was in line with Urooj Rahman’s Molotov cocktail back in Brooklyn. In an interview before her attack, she enunciated the common goal of both movements: “This s–t won’t ever stop unless we f–kin’ take it all down.”

In both the interview and during her attack, Rahman kept a Palestinian keffiyeh close to her face. Her sartorial choice was not incidental. With her attempted torching of the police cruiser (her Molotov cocktail didn’t light), she brought Palestinian jihad tactics to the riots in the U.S. She also revealed the congruence between the ideology of the left in America today and that of jihadists, not just the Palestinians, but all over the world.

Meanwhile, the left’s anti-Americanism and determination to “f–kin’ take it all down” has been on abundant display in the recent riots in Louisville and elsewhere, and continues, to the apparent delight of Muslims such as Linda Sarsour, Urooj Rahman, Zahra Billoo, and Imraan Siddiqi. When Rahman was arrested, she was wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with the slogan “THE STRUGGLE CONTINUES REGARDLESS.” The Arabic word for “struggle” is, of course, jihad.

Harry Potter and the Islamophobic Author

J.K. Rowling, the famed author of the Harry Potter series, has fallen victim to the cancel culture. Laurie Charles, a British writer who equals Rowling neither in accomplishment nor in renown, has accused Rowling of “transphobia” for a book she wrote under a pseudonym in 2014, The Silkworm. The UK’s appalling Daily Mail, noticing that the “transphobic” passage involves a burqa, claims that Rowling “has been accused of playing into both Islamophobic and transphobic prejudices.”

Here is the offending passage. If you can’t spot the “transphobia” and “Islamophobia,” you just aren’t woke enough:

A young woman wearing a hijab was watching them talk from an opposite seat. She had large, sweet, liquidbrown eyes.

‘Assuming somebody really did enter the house on the fourth, I’ve got to say a burqa’s a bloody good way of getting in and out without being recognised. Can you think of another way of totally concealing your face and body that wouldn’t make people challenge you?’

‘And they were carrying a halal takeaway?’

‘Allegedly. Was his last meal halal? Is that why the killer removed the guts?’

‘And this woman—’

‘Could’ve been a man…’ ‘—was seen leaving the house an hour later?’

This enraged Laurie Charles, who took to Twitter to call attention to this passage, about which she fumed: “JK Rowling made her f**ked up attacks against trans people and threatened to sue anyone who called her transphobic because she’d already sent her manuscript off to the publisher and wanted to preempt the inevitable criticism of this.”

And just to make sure everyone knew the depth of her moral indignation, Charles added: “It’s like she’s sipping human blood and viscera from a skull through a curly straw with one hand and typing with the other.”

Charles may have been on the lookout for new evidence of Rowling’s “transphobia,” for she has been in hot water for it before, when she dared to note that using the term “people who menstruate” instead of “women” is absurd. And even that wasn’t the end of Rowling’s villainy, according to the Daily Mail: “The row worsened after her new book Troubled Blood was released on Tuesday, which tells the tale of a man who dresses as a woman to kill his victims – a trope in literature that’s been criticised by activists for perpetuating negative stereotypes about transgender people.”

So now, in the Left’s moral universe, making the common-sense observation that “a burqa’s a bloody good way of getting in and out without being recognized” is somehow prejudicial to men who dress in women’s clothing, and men who like to think they’re really women, and that will just not do. And the burqa! You know what that means. “Not just transphobic but Islamophobic too… I regret ever spending money on Harry Potter,” commented one former Rowling fan on Charles’ tweet.

Another added: “So apparently Rowling is just racist as well. What a surprise, transphobes tend to be obsessive bigots, huh.” And a third: “Ewwwww how does she manage to be racist and transphobic in one paragraph?”

Of course Rowling must be racist, because Rowling is bad, and everything bad is racism, and so there you are. Islam is not a race and women of all races wear burqas and niqabs, but no matter: in Britain and the U.S. today, you’re a racist for imagining someone committing a crime while wearing a burqa. Because that never, ever happens, right?

Well, let’s see. Back in February, a burqa-clad man in New York City stole nearly $1 million in jewelry. In October 2018, France’s most-wanted fugitive evaded police by wearing a burqa. And in Cameroon in July 2015, burqa-wearing Muslims murdered at least twelve people in jihad-martyrdom suicide attacks.

There are many, many other such incidents. In January 2014, the Syrian army arrested a jihadist who was trying to evade capture by dressing as a woman. Four French soldiers in Afghanistan were killed in June 2012 by jihad suicide bombers who were wearing burqas. Two months before that, a man who was accused of participating in the July 7, 2005 jihad bombings in London was caught fleeing in a burqa. In June 2011, a Taliban burqa-brigade attempted a prison break in northwestern Pakistan.

In April 2010 in Pakistan, jihadists dressed in burqas murdered 41 people in double jihad suicide bombings. The year before that, jihad suicide bombers in burqas killed six in Afghanistan.

All that and much more indicates that when J.K. Rowling imagined a criminal escaping by wearing a burqa, she wasn’t engaging in gratuitous “Islamophobia,” much less “transphobia,” but was simply reflecting reality. It is reality, however, that the Left is making war against. They’ll cancel everyone, no matter how famous, no matter how beloved, in order to push us all into accepting their fantasies about the world. Orwell neatly encapsulated this impulse in 1984 when he had Winston Smith’s torturer force him to say, and believe, that two plus two equals five. Now we’re being forced to affirm that again, on pain of being labeled “transphobic,” “Islamophobic,” and “racist.”
