Kamala’s Dilemma

I am here to reach out to The New York Times, and especially to their executive editor Dean Baquet, to get their input on Kamala’s historic trip to Guatemala.

After putting on her diplomatic genius for all the world to see, she is being bombarded with criticism, some of it from her own party. I understand AOC is outraged. What is the world coming to when a Patriot like Kamala gets attacked. Always putting the needs and welfare of this country and it’s citizen’s as her top priority. With an occasional break for a pastry or two.

Well the right has been showing what they call, a national embarrassment of her trip non stop. I was hoping to see the Old Gray Lady come to her defense, but all I saw was a small AP story yesterday. It must be a deadline issue, yeah that must be it.

KAMALA’S TRIP TO GUATEMALA

Well for months now, the radical right has been harping on the Harris administration to get down to the border. So after just a few short months that dynamo Kamala flew into the Guatemalan/ Mexican border. Which by the way is just about 2,500 miles away from the US/Mexican border. Does it really matter that much, radical right? After all it is still a border, sheesh.

Let’s look at what this trailblazer accomplished on her first diplomatic trip, shall we. Well her main goal was to identify the root causes of this border catastrophe. I agree wholeheartedly with Kamala, you want to do in-depth research while a catastrophe gets exponentially worse by the day. You can never have enough data, I say.

Of course these Conservatives are screaming from the roof tops that the crisis at OUR border needs to be addressed immediately. That flat out says this is a result of reversing all of President Trump’s very successful policies, not investigating “root causes”. They claim Joey’s rapid fire executive orders are an utter failure. The right calls these actions plain vindictive and grossly incompetent.

They point out the trafficking of young children, rampant influx of drugs including fentanyl, people being left for dead as they march to the border in Biden/Harris tee shirts. More and more cages for children being built, I mean holding facilities. Kamala has changed her description on these cages over the last 5 months or so.

Illegal immigrants being bused to airports and flown out in the dead of night under the shroud of secrecy, to avoid any media detection. But those pesky right wing media groups did indeed get footage of this happening. You know, in line with when they caught Pete Buttigieg having secret service pull his bike out of a van, close to his office, you know, so he could claim how green he was by peddling to work. President Trump is a racist.

Well, Kamala’s retort was the main problem for the influx of illegal immigrants was climate change. There, take that radical right! I guess the climate must have really changed since President Trump left office. I guess, it must be attributed to El Niño. Let’s go with that Deano, El Niño is the cause of the catastrophe at the border, our border that is.

The only thing that is a little confusing is she is telling illegals not to come now. Her administration previously said all are welcome. I mean, she just listed the root cause as climate change. I mean, does she want these poor people to remain there and possibly get sunburn? You can see the quandary here, quite vexing. I know AOC is not happy, she would like to have a word with her, maybe after she takes care of her Grandma’s house in Puerto Rico.

GUATEMALA’s TAKE ON ALL OF THIS

Well talk about ingratitude, after Kamala treks all the way to the wrong border, to identify the problem of illegal immigration. You know, the root cause of ALL of this is climate change, and possibly a little government corruption.

Well, Guatemalan President Alejandro Giammattei, gave his opinion. He lays the blame squarely on the Biden administration, not this climate change nonsense that Kamala is touting. I mean, of all the nerve. Then during their meeting with the press, one reporter had the audacity to ask Kamala why she hasn’t visited the US/Mexican border? Well, without skipping a beat and looking, oh so comfortable and confident, stammered and said, I’m not getting caught up in these Republican games! Fantastic representation of our country and oh so professional, really shows her in-depth insight, and how she stays cool under pressure.

My question, who vetted these reporters down there in Guatemala? I mean don’t they know we usually supply the Harris administration with pictures of reporters who ask tough questions, you know, like Joey has at all his press conferences. Well, I mean his one and only scripted, I mean unrehearsed presser. Well, anyway President Trump is a racist.

Word is, Kamala demanded her cookie back that she gave to Mr Giammattei earlier in the day. Rumor from the right is that the secret service we’re running after his motorcade screaming for her cookie back. Damn scoundrel! I always thought the old cookie trick was a shoe in. It worked wonderfully for “Dr” Jill Biden as she gave them out to the National guard after they were forced to sleep on the floor of the DC parking garage. Where she get the time to bake is beyond me. Maybe they were from Joey’s midday after work supply.

MEDIA MAYHEM

The coverage from this highly successful trip has been nonstop. Well, from the right that is, not all that much from you media icons from the left, you guys the beloved CNN too.

How about Rino Lester Holt grilling obviously exhausted Kamala ( poor woman hadn’t had a pastry for hours), if she had any plans to visit the border. Well Kamala said, THEY have been to the border! But Old Lester fired back…..you specifically, when will you go to the border, you’ve never been yet? Well the unflappable Kamala replied, well I haven’t been to Europe either. What a brilliant comeback, Old Lester just seemed speechless. That was her JFK, FDR, shining oratory moment, breathtaking. Of course, she emphasized her point with her lilting ,coquettish, girlish laughter. Some from the right refer to it as a form of Tourette’s Syndrome. I also understand, she looked out the window of her plane when it passed over the actual border in crisis. It was a little fuzzy from 35,000 feet, but she gets the picture.

The right says, she is so used to being treated with kid gloves from liberal propaganda hacks, that she has folded like a cheap suit when put under scrutiny. They claim her ineptitude for her job title was on full display for the world to see. The right claims, if one or two more questions put the spotlight on her incompetence, she would have broken down into tears, like a young schoolgirl.

Well thank goodness for honest, unbiased reporting from you guys at The Times, Deano. Always showing both sides of the story, always apolitical. A shining example to our children on how to present yourself in a unscrupulous and respectable manner. That is why I was happy to see your minuscule coverage of this developing disaster. Kudos on a job well done.

New Report Sheds Light on Harassment of U.S. Election Officials

Funding, education and legal safeguards are needed to protect democracy’s frontline workers.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. /PRNewswire/ — A new California Voter Foundation report sheds light on the threats and attacks U.S. election officials have endured in the wake of the 2020 election.

“Documenting and Addressing Harassment of Election Officials” features findings gathered through interviews with eleven election officials from six states along with eight of the nation’s leading election experts.

The report finds that ten of the eleven officials interviewed endured death threats, other threats or abusive language.

The report is available online at www.calvoter.org/harassment.

“While many have put the last election in the rear-view mirror, election officials are still being attacked,” said Kim Alexander, California Voter Foundation (CVF) president and founder. “These attacks are driving a disturbingly high number of our democracy’s frontline workers to leave their positions. In California, 15 percent of election officials have already resigned and more may follow.”

Officials interviewed for the report are not identified and were selected for their perspective and experiences of harassment. The report is authored by Grace Gordon, a UC Berkeley Master of Development Practice graduate who conducted her research under the guidance of Alexander and Cathy Darling Allen, CVF’s board chair and County Clerk and Registrar of Voters for Shasta County, CA.

Four of the eleven officials interviewed reported receiving explicit death threats. Some election officials described attackers threatening to inflict harm upon their family members. Election staff members have also been harassed and threatened. The report includes direct quotes from election officials and contains a trigger warning for readers that the content is violent and may be disturbing. Nearly all threats were received by phone calls or voicemail.

With women accounting for over 75 percent of local election officials, the report also explores the relationship between misogyny and harassment in the threats and abuse of election officials.

Several officials reported an insufficient response from law enforcement to death threats and other threats they received. Most of the election officials and experts interviewed cited lack of funding for election offices as a major concern.

“Election administration is chronically underfunded and under-resourced, which contributes to election officials feeling at risk and undervalued,” said Darling Allen.

Several recommendations for addressing harassment are detailed in the report and include decreasing the impact of mis- and disinformation by strengthening public education, increasing funding to support election administration and expanding legal and law enforcement protections for election officials.

“We are at risk of losing the vast institutional knowledge required to conduct free and fair elections in the U.S.,” Alexander warned. “By shining a light on the suffering and pain inflicted upon our election officials, we hope to motivate lawmakers, law enforcement, philanthropists, and the nonprofit and academic sectors to work together to safeguard this mission critical role in U.S. elections.”

ABOUT THE CALIFORNIA VOTER FOUNDATION

The California Voter Foundation will host a June 9th webinar to share the report findings and will provide a recording of the event on its web site. CVF is a nonpartisan, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization working to improve the voting process to better serve voters. Release and distribution of this report is supported by a generous contribution from Craig Newmark Philanthropies.

More Democrat Governors Moving To Florida To Escape Their Own COVID Policies

U.S.—A shocking study has found an increasing number of Democratic state governors are fleeing to Florida, desperate to escape the ravages of their own COVID lockdown policies.

The report found that Governors Whitmer, Newsom, and Cuomo have already secretly purchased homes in The Sunshine State.

“Let me be clear. Florida is a deep dark pit of deep right-wing darkness,” said Newsom as he watched his servants pack up his U-Haul. “But also, their restaurants are actually still in business, and I’m really hungry.”

The study also found that Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York has secretly been making trips to Florida since last year, mainly due to the fact that no one lives in New York anymore and he gets lonely sometimes. “Listen,” he said while eating a meatball sub he had made himself since there were no sub shops left in New York, “even a guy like me needs someone to talk to every once in a while. That’s why I’m movin’ to Florida.”

Governor Ron DeSantis has expressed concern over the influx of Democrat Governors clamoring to get into the state and has mandated that they all quarantine for at least a year before mixing with the general populace.

Post-Election Survey of U.S. Election Officials Finds Funding Shortages, Partisan Pressure, and Disinformation Campaigns as Key Concerns at the Local Level

WASHINGTON, D.C. /PRNewswire/ — Protect Our Election, a non-partisan 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to strengthening democratic institutions at the state and local level, today released the results of its 2020 Local Election Official Research Survey. The survey is the first public study of county-level election administrators’ opinions conducted after the events of the 2020 presidential election and the January 6, 2021 assault on the U.S. Capitol.

The 122-question survey was sent to over 4,600 local election officials (LEOs) in all 50 states, and covered topics ranging from election security and funding to COVID-19 preparations and voter communication efforts. Key findings include:

  • The 2020 election cycle impacted the way LEOs feel about their role in our democracy, with nearly a third of respondents saying they are considering a career change;
  • Significant numbers of LEOs reported feeling “inappropriate partisan pressure” from voters, party organizers, elected officials, and even law enforcement;
  • Roughly half of our LEOs lack the time and resources to effectively engage in proactive voter communications on digital platforms;
  • 73% of LEOs who responded received public funds via the 2020 CARES Act, while 43% received grant money from non-governmental sources;
  • Opinions are mixed on election reform efforts currently underway at the state and federal level, with most LEOs preferring collaborative action from all levels of government.

“It is no secret that our local election officials are underappreciated, underpaid, and under attack in the wake of the 2020 election cycle,” said Steve Wanczyk, executive director of Protect Our Election. “They are an irreplaceable national resource, and their experiences on the ground must be part of the narrative around democracy and electoral reform going forward.”

The results of the survey have helped inform actionable next steps in Protect Our Election’s mission to rebuild civic relationships and repair the damage done to American democracy in 2020. The non-profit is teaming up with like-minded partner organizations, local election administrators around the country, voters, and volunteers to address resource gaps identified in the study via a suite of pro bono services scheduled for launch later this summer.

The survey report and media kit are available at Protect Our Election’s website.

Senator Manchin Blisters Fellow Democrats Over Sweeping Voting Suppression Act

Only one Democrat? The Democrats are truly the party of totalitarianism and oppression. From his op-ed explaining why he will vote against the “For the People Act”:

: …we now are witnessing that the fundamental right to vote has itself become overtly politicized. Today’s debate about how to best protect our right to vote and to hold elections, however, is not about finding common ground, but seeking partisan advantage. Whether it is state laws that seek to needlessly restrict voting or politicians who ignore the need to secure our elections, partisan policymaking won’t instill confidence in our democracy — it will destroy it (Gazette mail). From Bonchie: Manchin putting this marker in the ground has the left going absolutely insane, which is to be expected. Now, the Civil War is going hot. Rep. Mondaire Jones of New York responded to Manchin by accusing him of codifying Jim Crow (RedState). From Rich Lowry: The Left’s response, of course, is to imply he’s some sort of racist (National Review). One reporter juxtaposed a story highlighting Biden criticizing Manchin with the Manchin op-ed (Twitter). From Byron York: Given fact that 1) It is very, very difficult to eliminate the legislative filibuster, and 2) Democrats do not control a majority of seats in the US Senate, it is amazing that some Democrats and their allies are so upset about this. What did they expect? (Twitter).

Pollster Finds Hispanics Turning Republican

More Trump magic.

According to the story, GOP pollster Curt Anderson explained the details in “a new NRSC survey of Hispanic voters in battleground states. The top line from his 34-page slide deck? “The coalition of the ascendant is descending.” The proof? The two senators sitting at the table who won election in a Sun Belt state that has become “substantially less white and more Republican.” The moment for their multiethnic, multiracial working-class coalition has arrived, Republicans hope, and Hispanic voters are the key. “They said how well Marco would do because he is of Cuban descent,” Scott said, noting how Rubio won 48% of those voters in his 2016 race, “but when I did it, they said, ‘Well, there is something different about Florida.’ If you look at these poll numbers, it is not. If you look at these poll numbers, Hispanics across the country are Republicans” (Real Clear Politics).

This comes as a Republican won a mayoral race in a majority-Hispanic Texas town (Washington Examiner).

Canada’s Leap From Socialism To Communism!

We saw this coming for a long time. And it seemed to explode extemporaneously within this last month. It had already pushed off in the United States, using the Covid19 Virus, as the fuse to began shutting churches down. These actions were attributed to the pandemic ruling that due to the virus, people cannot gather.

This protects people from getting this contagious disease, they say. Great tool for Commicrat thugs who want to control every movement we make. This protects people from getting this contagious disease, they expostulated, even though not that convincingly.

The most threatening gathering place, say the Communist Party recruiters, is the church. The Reds know that a Christian Mind cannot be enslaved. So the first thing they do before takeover is to eliminate all churches. Notice today how in Communist China they bulldoze churches and any crosses that may be in view.

And they are the ones who created and released…not accidental leaked–but released Covid19. Bill Gates, who works with the U.N. to depopulate the earth, gave $1.3 million to Dr. Fauci who took it to the Wuhan lab in China to create this pandemic.

One major church in America that is targeted is John Macarthur’s church, Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California. The feds have done everything to shut his church down including raids and lawsuits. But fortunately, Rev. Macarthur is a bit bull headed and he faces them toe to toe and is not about to budge.

We’ve always known that Canada is a Socialist Country which is the stepping stone to Communism. For me there has always been something off center with Canada. Now the war has begun. The Gestapo Cops have been raiding churches, some during services, demanding that people depart. and by the way, take in the following.

In the United States it is a felony to disrupt a religious service. So the next time these intruders storm a church, at least in America, immediately file charges against them with the District Attorney. I had to do that once.

So far the police have been doing this without checkmate. Using the notion of the Covid19 Virus, they claim that they are putting everyone at risk by gathering for church. Perfect for the Communist Storm Troopers who do not want God in their area.

Pastor Artur Pawlowski of Street Church in Calgary, Alberta, was conducting a service when the storm troopers pushed their way into the church, during a service, and ordered everyone to leave or face arrest. Pastor Pawlowski who was familiar with Communist Rule while living in Poland, charged towards the cops and ordered them to leave the area immediately. They did.

Than after another service, as the pastor was leaving the church to go home, five police cars were waiting, followed him, then with sirens suddenly breaking the sound barrier, they stopped him in the middle lane of a Freeway where they arrested him, handcuffed him with his arms behind his back, dragged him down the street and threw him down, again, in the middle of the lane of that busy freeway. He could have been killed but the so called police officers had no feeling about that. He represented God and the church so it isn’t important if he dies.

Next his property was firebombed. To Pastor Pawlowski, this was a sign that someone wanted him dead. Rev, Pawlowski said that his arrest was “painful” and actual torture” saying the entire ordeal was “unbelievable.”

Meanwhile, a small “Church of God” in Aylmer, Ontario, faced a police ambush during their service, ordered the parishioners to exit the church, then they changed locks on the church so that nobody could come in again. The church group decided to have their services outdoors. This rankled the authorities who fined the little church, $200,000 for continuing to hold worship despite provincial ‘Stay at home” orders.

Still not satisfied, those crazy Canucks fined that little church an additional $66,000 over Memorial Day Weekend, for having outdoor services which attracted some 400 attendees. and live-streamed online. They were then fined an additional $100.000 dollars.

The Crown Communist Attorney, Lisa Brost said in court, “The church is escalating its defiance of governor edicts by continuing to hold outdoor worship service,” which she described as ‘an intentional confrontation.’ “The church ‘deliberately did exactly what they knew they were not permitted to do,” Brost belched, adding she believes the congregation should be barred from appealing having their facility locked until they fully repay all the outstanding fines against them. Get that? Pay up first then you can go back into your church. Sounds like Ransom to me.

So even in a Communist Country money can compel others to change their minds.

And Canada, with this latest and ferocious attack against churches, have, as expected, taken the step from Socialist to Communist. There, to me, was always a sense of something strange in Canada, while dissecting the personalities of people I met. First of all, I met a lot of former Nazis who retired there. They were not that pleasant to talk to. While in show business I performed throughout Canada. And that is the only country that actually booed me. And why?

I was the Ringmaster of the Shriner’s Circus, a huge benefit program which supports the Shriners Hospital for children. While performing in a major arena with a packed house, the Fire Marshall came to me and requested that I make a “No Smoking” announcement, which I did. Then I added, “And to you young people here, don’t even start it or even try it. You only have one set of lungs…take care of them.” That resulted in resounding BOOS throughout the stadium arena. I couldn’t believe it.

I let them continue the booing until they stopped. I waited another minute, then said, “Any country who would boo someone for advising young people to protect their lungs by not smoking, is not ready for self government.” Things suddenly got so silent that one could hear a caterpillar doing pushups on a Lemon Meringue Pie.

I waited another minute, then resumed the show. There were no further problems.

Let’s face it. One by one, countries are giving in to Communism. Yes, it is even in The United States, but it is not fully recognized yet, but it is getting there..

God help us all!

Facebook Now Allows Claims That COVID Was Engineered

How many people had their “reach” throttled down to nothing, or had their groups cancelled, or were banished altogether from Facebook, for stating what initially was taboo, then was controversial, and now is a likely fact: COVID-19 is an engineered “gain of function” virus, not found in nature.

It was only two months ago that Facebook announced they would “crack down on groups that break its rules.” As if they haven’t been cracking down ever since 2016. When Facebook has a CEO that’s willing to personally spend nearly a half-billion dollars to buy the presidency of the United States – and they do, his name is Mark Zuckerberg – you may rest assured that Facebook “cracking down” on unwanted political sentiments is an ongoing phenomenon.

Perhaps it’s fair to give Facebook credit for being flexible. Or maybe they’re just recalibrating their political agenda: When the overriding goal was to destroy the reelection chances of Donald Trump, it was important to claim anything Trump said must be false, but once Trump was out of office, it was safe to permit speculation as to the origins of COVID-19.

The news media sure played up the reversal. It made the headlines on CNNPoliticoReuters, the Washington PostUSA TodayYahoo, and countless other media properties. The Washington Post, predictably enough, had to put a leftist spin on the news, with a headline warning that “Facebook’s reversal on banning claims that covid-19 is man-made could unleash more anti-Asian sentiment.”

Is it possible that Americans will ever manage a collective puke at this infantile, destructive propaganda? At what point do we all dare again to identify the sources of potentially existential threats, even when they aren’t the work of wicked White people?

There are now dozens of alternative platforms big enough to host millions of users, free of censorship. But Facebook hosts 2.6 billion users. YouTube, for that matter, hosts 2.0 billion users. No other platforms come anywhere close to this sort of reach. When it comes to social networks, Facebook is a monopoly. When it comes to online video, YouTube is a monopoly.

This is why political activists have to work in both worlds – they operate on the monopoly platforms like Facebook, because of its unique potential to get their message in front of millions, while at the same time they migrate as many people as they can to their accounts on alternative platforms. That way, on the day that Facebook – without any accountability whatsoever – vaporizes their account, their lists, their content, all their years of work, they aren’t completely destroyed.

Rep. Jamie Raskin Demands Republicans Stop Blocking Money for Hamas

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D – Weasel) dispatched a letter to Senator Jim Risch (R – Idaho) demanding that he unblock money for Hamas.

In a letter co-signed by notable Democrat patriots and lovers of the Jewish State like Rep. Ilhan Omar, Rep. Rashida Tlaib, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, Rep. Mark Pocan, and Rep. Jerrold Nadler, Raskin demanded immediate aid for Gaza.

“Gaza is experiencing a humanitarian catastrophe. Buildings lie in rubble. Access to clean water and electricity is sporadic or nonexistent. Food insecurity is spreading. COVID-19 is running rampant and thousands of people have been displaced and rendered homeless. The magnitude of the crisis is staggering,” Rep. Raskin wailed.

Gaza’s five-star hotel and its 600 Hamas millionaires are also feeling down. But the number of stringers taking photos of teddy bears that they’ve strategically arranged in the rubble of a Hamas facility is way up.

The assistance aid notified by the State Department is to be provided in full accordance with U.S. law. It is administered and overseen by our government and by trusted and vetted partners on the ground. Secretary Antony Blinken has made clear that Hamas and other terrorist groups will not benefit from our humanitarian assistance.

Stuff has been made very clear. Just don’t ask for guarantees.

“We’re going to be working in partnership with the United Nations and the Palestinian Authority to kind of channel aid there in a manner that does its best to go to the people of Gaza,” a senior State Department official told reporters Monday. “As we all know in life, there are no guarantees.”

When you move aid through territory controlled by a terrorist group, it goes to the terrorists. We’ve seen this in Yemen, Syria, and oh, Gaza.

Hamas infiltrated a large international aid organization operating in Gaza and redirected tens of millions of dollars – 60 percent – of the organization’s budget to its “military” wing, the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) announced on Thursday, following an investigation that lasted almost two months.

The World Vision organization, which operates in 100 countries and employs 46,000 people, fell victim to a complex Hamas takeover scheme, a senior Shin Bet source said, adding that Hamas’s armed wing stole $7.2 million a year from the budget, which was supposed to pay for food, humanitarian assistance, and aid programs for disabled children, and channeled the funds to buy weapons, build attack tunnels, and to other preparations for war with Israel.

This time around, Hamas was bragging about using water pipes to make rockets. Good thing Biden promised to rebuild their water infrastructure.

“Access to clean water and electricity is sporadic or nonexistent,” Raskin whines. Maybe he should take that up with Hamas.

Trump Reveals First 10 Items On His Agenda For When He’s Reinstated As President In August

Trump is going to be reinstated as president this August, reliable sources have informed us — the best sources, everyone says so. When this happens, he has a lot of work to do returning America to its former greatness. Luckily, high-energy Trump is up to the task. He has already released a list of the first ten things on his agenda for when he gets back in office later this summer:

1. Re-drain the swamp. – There’s been a lot of swamp build-up over the past few months — time to start re-draining!

2. Nuke a blue state as a warning to the rest of the blue states. – California will do nicely.

3. Un-gay the military. – Trump says he will make the military the straightest it’s ever been!

4. Sign an executive order bringing back Aunt Jemima, Mr. Potato Head, and Uncle Ben. – Wow! Promises made, promises kept!

5. Lock up Hillary but for real this time. – Lock her up, but actually do it!

6. Order ten new seasons of Firefly. – A move that will gain our true president real bipartisan support.

7. Build 500 new pipelines making gas plummet to a dime a gallon. – It’s a foolproof plan.

8. Jail everyone involved in The Last Jedi – Starting with the ringleader Rian Johnson.

9. Make America great again again. – There’s a lot of work to do to make America great again, again, but Trump is up to the job. Again.

10. Wipe away every tear. – He will also make the lion lie down with the lamb.

We. Can’t. Wait!

To Save The Republican Party, the GOP Must Die

Bingo. The spineless, gutless wonders of the GOP are disconnected with the Republican voter. Ferocious enemies abound, we must defeat those in our own house if we are to prevail.

To Save The Republican Party, the GOP Must Die

By: Brian Parsons, The American Thinker, June 2, 2021:

The GOP must die. The Grand Old Party is over and unsalvageable. The name finds its origin in the post-Civil War era as the party that saved the Union, but whatever positive connotations may have come with the GOP moniker are dead and gone now.  Today, GOP conjures images of gray hairs at the country club and board meetings at Halliburton, and it seems the only thing it is interested in saving is the status quo. There was a time when these perceptions could be dismissed as partisan pejoratives, but at some point, Republican Party leadership chose to embrace and embody the characterization.  Fool me twice, shame on me.

As of late, GOP legacies like Paul Ryan and Liz Cheney have decided that they will draw a line in the sand and say “you’re either with us or against us.”  Denouncing the effective but unpolished populism of Donald Trump, they paint the future of the Republican Party as bleak should it continue down this path of uncouth but wildly successful policy. The answer, of course, is a resounding “bye Felicia!”  Believing themselves the arbiters of conservatism, they have determined that populism has no place in the Republican Party. By their standards, conservatism amounts to congeniality and infinite surrender.  Like a toothless dog that threatens to gum you to death, the GOP has no bite. And I’m left questioning whether it wants to?

Time and again the GOP is swift to embrace the grassroots enthusiasm, fundraising, and voter recruitment efforts, but want none of the policy demands of the foot soldiers of the party. With Joe Biden’s paint still fresh on the walls of the White House in January, the RNC began sending out fundraising emails imploring party members to fund the advancement of Trump’s America. Trump for his part sent a cease and desist to the RNC demanding they divest from the Trump name in their efforts. The party that couldn’t be bothered to mount a legitimate defense of Trump or his supporters is happy to solicit funds to advance candidates who will toe the party line and extinguish the torch of America First. This GOP feels a lot more like controlled opposition than a legitimate alternative to the statism of the Left.

Populism is not foreign to the Republican Party.  In its history, perhaps only Teddy Roosevelt and Donald Trump have been elected on the Republican ticket.  Still, other candidates like Ron Paul or Pat Buchanan wielded effective ideological influence on the party’s grassroots members.  Given the active nature of the grassroots, a party that wishes to exert influence in the national conversation cannot ignore its most politically active members. Because populism is beholden first and foremost to the people and not the party, there is a measure of fluidity that allows the candidate to bring new voices into the fold that strict adherence to party platforms does not. The downside to the populist proposition is question marks around adherence to ideological tenets of the party. Considering the nature of the politicians and their duplicitous tendencies, this does not seem much of a departure from the status quo.

The grassroots of the Republican Party are nothing if not tenacious.  Like a predator testing the electric fences for weak spots, the grassroots have consistently mounted offensives against the GOP establishment, only to be rebuffed by the deep pockets and entrenched bureaucracy of Washington, D.C. At times they have found a measure of success in elevating their strongest dark horse candidates such as Ronald Reagan or Donald Trump. Re-emerging from the Paleoconservative/Neoconservative schism was the Tea Party movement of the 2010s, which sought a renewed commitment to fiscal conservatism and a rejection of the offensive wars of the George W. Bush era. From that class of politicians, we saw the rise of several Goldwater-style conservatives, who by remaining true to themselves have seen a measure of success and staying power. Conservatives like Rand Paul, Mike Lee, and Ron Johnson have pushed to the head of the influence pack in terms of the public conversation, though Johnson emerged as a vocal leader later in the Trump years and has yet to declare for re-election in 2022.

Still, others have reverted to their natural roots and find themselves on the waning end of political sway. Scott Brown of Massachusetts lasted a mere three years in office. The anti-Trump Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania has declared his retirement, and Marco Rubio finds himself on the outs with strict Constitutionalists who prefer less of a war hawk. #NeverTrump moderates like Jeff Flake and Bob Corker saw their flames extinguished, and some milquetoast moderates who remain, like Mitt Romney, Susan Collins, or Lisa Murkowski, find themselves increasingly at odds with their own party. The emergence of MAGA has done nothing if it has not exposed the establishment for what it is: a dying power structure lashing out in self-defense.

Having exhausted their support from corporations and the religious right, the GOP establishment is now in a race to the bottom of identity politics. They call it recruitment, but I call it debasement. Whether promoting record numbers of female or minority candidates or elevating the Caitlyn Jenners of the political world, the GOP has lifted a page from the Democrat playbook. The American Left is quick to pounce on conservative minority candidates as tokenism, and, the way in which they are paraded around specifically on their minority status, I have a hard time disagreeing with the label.  Identity politics is the entire electoral strategy of the American Left, so if anyone knows tokenism it’s the Left. All of this is not to say that all minority candidates of the conservative persuasion are token candidates, but touting ethnicity, gender, or sexuality as an electable virtue certainly fits the definition. The GOP wants to emulate the success of Donald Trump’s appeal to minorities, which saw the highest minority Republican support since 1960. They are engaging classes of people based on identity instead of promoting good policy. In doing so, the GOP eliminates any modicum of separation between themselves and their counterparts on the Left.

With razor-thin margins for error in government, the current class of GOP establishment consistently fails their constituents.  Whether it’s a failed impeachment born of the opposition, or a last-act thumbs down by John McCain on the repeal of the ACA, what remains of the GOP establishment lashes out like a cornered dog.  It’s past time to put Ol’ Yeller down.  If the Republican party is to survive, it needs to return to its ideological roots and put personal animus aside. It must weed out its phonies and frauds and empower its grassroots to take up its cause.  It must listen to its devotees and adapt accordingly.  The Republican Party has always been a party of superior ideas, only lacking effective voices to see them to fruition. If the Republican Party is to survive, the GOP must die.

In Honor Of Pride Month, Here Are The Babylon Bee’s Top 2 Genders

Well, it’s pride month, which is a time of celebration for all orientations, biological sexes, and genders. Thirty full days of celebrating all the letters in the LGBTQ+ alphabet — what fun! We at The Babylon Bee don’t want to get left behind, of course, so let’s kick off Pride Month with a list of our top two genders!

We had all our writers vote on their favorite genders and narrowed it down to just the best two. Here they are:

1. Women – Women took the top slot this year. Congratulations, women! Women are great. One of the best genders of all time– everyone says so. They are really beautiful to look at, especially when they are married to you and they smile at you with those beautiful faces of theirs. According to experts, women make life worth living and fill the world with sweetness, warmth, and love! They have the amazing ability to think about 32 things at the same time and predict infinite possible outcomes to every scenario, kind of like Dr. Strange. Amazing!

Women are so amazing, in fact, that men spent thousands of years fighting wars and building civilization just so women could have air conditioning. Many of us Babylon Bee writers have even selected one wonderful person of this gender to spend the rest of our lives with, since they are so amazing.

Great job, women!

2. Men – Coming in a close second was men. Many of us were surprised that men didn’t take the top slot. They have the distinct advantage, after all, of being able to pick what restaurant they want to go to. They are handy around the house. They also drive better and are way better at telling Dad jokes. They also risk their lives climbing high telephone poles and working on dangerous oil rigs, all so women can have air conditioning. But those factors just weren’t enough to push them to the top. They tend to be way less good-looking than women, and way smellier. Better luck next time, men!

Congrats to the winners, and check back next year to see whether the same two genders top our list!

VIDEO: Today in France — An Interview with Nidra Poller

TRANSCRIPT

France is embroiled with protests over the court decision not to try the Muslim killer of the Orthodox Jewish retired teacher, Sarah Halimi, for alleged mental incapacity to stand trial. The decision gave rise to protests in France, Canada, UK, and Israel seeking justice. The Jerusalem Post reported in late May 2021, “Leaders and officials from France, Canada, Israel and the United Nations held a special digital rally demanding justice for Sarah Halimi, a French Jewish grandmother murdered by Kobili Traore.” France hosts Europe’s largest Jewish and Muslim Communities.

This news came shortly after the cease fire ending the 11 day Fourth Israel-Hamas war during which more than 4,000 rockets and missiles were launched by the Gaza Muslim Brotherhood extremists and Iran-backed Palestinian Islamic Jihad. That reign of terror was thwarted by Israel’s Iron Dome rocket defense system in a nightly ‘Star Wars’ display with a 90 percent downing of incoming rockets fired indiscriminately by these Islamist extremists. Hamas aroused sectarian protests in the West Bank, Temple Mount, Jerusalem’s Sheikh Jarrah section—originally a Jewish area seized by Jordan during the 1948—over legal evictions of Arabs who lacked deeds of ownership. Add to the outbreak pogroms in joint Arab-Jewish towns in Israel like Lod, Jaffa, Acre, and others. Israel made ‘precision’ attacks on Hamas tunnels, command structures sparing as much as possible Gazan civilians. That was, admitted by the UNWRA director before being forced to recant by Hamas. Because the US and international media provocatively portrayed Israel’s defense as “excessive” the Jewish nation’s usual Democratic supporters in Congress were riven given calls by so-called progressives of “apartheid” and “occupation” insinuating a racist anti-Semitic toxic meme. That led to an outburst of Palestinian protesters attacking Jews in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles spiking anti-Semitic incidents. Concerns over existential threats to Israel and the American Jewish community were expressed by the Biden White House, major Jewish communal leaders, and condemned by the leaders of the Democratic majority and Republican opposition in Congress.

France by contrast banned Palestinian protests given nightly protests and burnings during Ramadan among the Muslim banlieues suburbs. The French National Assembly had introduction legislation against “separatism” —a euphemism for dealing Islamic extremism. In late April, a French policewoman was killed by a Tunisian émigré. Those illegal Palestinian protests that did occur through France were relatively smaller than in prior outbursts. The National Police used tear gas and water cannons to disperse protesters in Paris and other major French cities. The separatism issue was the subject of an open letter from 1,000 French Servicemen, including 20 former generals raising the threat of insurrection, especially in the predominantly Muslim banlieues. The separatism issue will figure prominently in the upcoming 2022 Presidential election in France pitting President Macron against Marine Le Pen of the National Rally. There is also concerns about France commitment to combatting rising Islamist extremist threats to the G-5 countries in former French Equatorial Africa region of Sahel.

Against this background we brought back very dear friend, Nidra Poller, long-term American expat in Paris, talented writer, author, and activist for her views. Nidra (right) has written extensively on Islamic Antisemitism, murders of French Jews, terrorist events in France and elsewhere. She is most noted for being one of the earliest investigators in the Muhammad al-Dura affair that involved a 12-year-old Palestinian boy who was allegedly killed by Israeli gunfire on September 30th, 2000, at the start of the second Intifada. That was a piece of classic Palestinian propaganda. It was made up. Unfortunately, it involved a French, Jewish producer for France 2 tv whose 54-second film clip triggered this entire investigation. I met Nidra Poller nearly 18 years ago in Boston to go over some of the original findings in that groundbreaking effort. Much of that has been captured in a book that she wrote, published in 2014, called Al Dura: Long-Range Ballistic Myth  Poller contributes commentary on English-speaking media for ELNET which is a strong international organization defending Israel and defending democracy.

Jerome Gordon: This is Jerry Gordon. I am a Senior Editor at The New English Review, and Producer and Co-host for Israel News Talk Radio – Beyond the Matrix. Nidra, I would like to open this discussion about this current fourth war between Israel and the terrorist groups, Hamas, and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. Nidra, what can you tell us about the reactions in France and other places in the ‘The West’ whether it be London, Germany, and especially here in the United States?

Nidra Poller: Apparently, a total of 22,000 people demonstrated last Saturday in all of France. Maybe 2,000 or 3,000 in Paris. That demonstration was prohibited, and I think the hallmark of that demonstration is the image of one of the protesters standing in front of the stream of water from the water cannon, holding a Palestinian flag upside down and sideways. I do not know if that has been captured but upside down and sideways, and that sums it up. That is what I expected. Because between 2014 and 2021, we had massive Jihad attacks in France. The victims were not only Jews. and the population is aware of that. Sometimes you feel that even if the media  has not caught on, the population has caught on, including, I would say, a majority of the Muslim population in France that is no longer ready to get mobilized for Hamas. There were other demonstrations in other cities that were not prohibited. They are described as calm, with no incidents. Of course, the message that they carried was defense of Hamas. For us it is not that innocuous. But the important thing is that you did not get massive mobilization.

Even in the media, you get the usual…what I call lethal narrative. The whole story of the Mid-East conflict, the occupation Netanyahu is extreme right, or they violated the Al-Aqsa Mosque, or they are doing ethnic cleansing in Sheikh Jarrah. However, you do not have the passion and the obsession with the Israel-Palestine conflict as in the past. You do not have that now, and that is a good sign. I think in France, where we have the biggest Muslim population in Europe and the biggest Jewish population in Europe, the third biggest in the world, it matters. It matters more than what happens elsewhere. I have noticed that there are many more serious incidents in the UK than here. Of course, we are bracing, still more things can happen. This is an important element to observe and to follow through on. Because we should not ourselves be captured in the past and think that it is going to happen the same way as before. The reaction of the United States government is very encouraging for those of us who defend Israel, and it is not the total support of the Palestinians that, in some quarters in the United States, was expected from this Administration.

It has not happened. That is important too. Also, all over the world, and especially leaders of European countries have come out much more against the attacks by Hamas rockets than the old story of Israel’s disproportionate response. I would say our media, as much as I have been able to observe, are much less virulent against Israel than for example, CNN International.

Jerry Gordon: There was an interesting report from the Mayor of Nice in France,  Mr. Christian Estrosi, who displayed Israeli and French flags and backed the ban against Palestinian protests in France. He had very enlightening comments, one of which was to the effect that these people allegedly protesting for Palestinians were really supporting Hamas.

Nidra Poller: Yes.

Jerry Gordon: That was one thing. However, he also said something about the intellectual development in the educational system in France. You had a rather insightful comment about how France is significantly different from the cancel-culture movement here in the States. I wonder if you could talk about that.

Nidra Poller: Yes. Cancel culture is not absent. But there is a much stronger counterforce in France. Many French intellectuals and academics are aware of the danger. They are fighting it off with all they can. The government is helping: the Assistant Minister of education in charge of higher education has precisely and specifically set out to root out this useful idiot left-wing sympathizing with the terrorists with the Jihad. This is important because I do not see the same balance in the United States. There is lamentation from academics, especially retired academics. They lament what is happening, but I do not see that they have any ground to stand on or chance to root this out in the American academic world. I would like to say that in a very general way, there is a rich intellectual life in France and in Europe, and I think it is not appreciated in the United States.

Especially what comes from France: there is a language barrier. However, the level of French thought on these questions that are besieging all of us, is remarkably high. This intellectual reflection is going to come forward with strategies to fight back against the Jihad destruction of western civilization. Since it is not translated, people seem to think it does not exist. They are very dismissive. I can cite an article by Melanie Phillips, about the French reaction to the murder of Sarah Halimi. Phillips, who is usually well-informed, when she wrote about this in an article published by JNS Syndicate, she just did not know a tenth of what has been going on here. I can explain something that would help people to understand the case of the murder of a French Jewish woman, Sarah Halimi. It is not the French government that did not want to bring the killer to trial, it is the investigating judge. That is how the French judicial system works. The investigating judge is the first step, and he looks at all the evidence and then decides what to do next. . This investigating judge has stubbornly and perversely prevented every single effort to bring Sarah Halimi’s killer to trial.

The government has pleaded for him to be brought to trial. The only thing the government could have done, beyond that, would have been to take the case out of her hands. But they did not. . Aside from that, the government has been outspoken about the need to bring him to trial. The other thing is, we have brilliant and extremely competent lawyers working on this case. They have not given up and they will not give up, and something will come of their efforts. It is a mistake to think that this is an example of the French government wanting to push this anti-Semitic murder under the carpet.

Many people in France have come to understand that when Jews have been attacked, the next thing you know, people in a cafe are attacked, and French people in a concert hall are attacked, the police are attacked. We have had riots every night during the month of Ramadan in what I can call “mixed cities “in France, where you have Muslim and non-Muslim populations. They have been burning cars, attacking the police, and in the worst cases, killing the police. Perhaps it is going to take a little more time to make that connection. We have been experiencing for one month during Ramadan what Israel has been experiencing. Now, if Morocco or Algeria decided to protect the poor Muslim residents of France who are not being given their rights, and shot 3000 rockets at France, well, I do not even have to ask what France would do. You know very well; they would defend themselves.

Jerry Gordon: Nidra, in late April there was an interesting open letter that was signed by over 1000 ex-French servicemen including 20 generals, which talked about seven deadly dangerous scenarios with the possibility that these banlieues (working class suburbs) in major French cities would erupt in insurrections. There was a peculiar aspect to the date in the release of the letter. It was on April the 21st of this year, but it also reflects an event that occurred 60 years ago in French history.

Nidra Poller: Except that it was released before then. First, my present assignment is covering English-speaking media for ELNET which is a strong international organization defending Israel and defending democracy. I must concentrate on following English-language media, and then summarizing articles in French. So there are things I have not followed closely in France. I have mixed feelings about this letter. I have mixed feelings about the currents that could pick it up and carry it forward. I do not think the salvation of our democracy will come from that direction. It is not the level of thinking that we need, and it is going to be picked up by people that have not the best interest of the entire society at heart. On the other hand, of course many people are warning of the danger, so that is nothing new. I would rather listen to the police who are in touch with this problem every day. We have new legislation coming out against separatism–it is really against Islamism, but they call it “separatism”–to try to deal with urban violence.

Jerry Gordon: Yes.

Nidra Poller: That is the direction we will go. The coming presidential election in 2022 will concentrate on that issue. That is the subject that matters the most today.

Jerry Gordon: Speaking about the national election coming up next year, one of the supporters of the letter of 1000 was Marine Le Pen from the Rassemblement National. Was that opportunistic on her part? Purposeful?

Nidra Poller: Oh, well, she is always opportunistic. [chuckle].

Jerry Gordon: I guess we knew that.

Nidra Poller: That’s how she operates. I do not know how we can continue to have this choice between Marine Le Pen and one other candidate. I do not know why that party keeps gaining support, based on the unrealistic notion that because they are sort of loudmouth on these issues of security, and a bit turbulent, it means they could govern this country. Don’t people see what happens when you choose a president who does not want to govern? It is disastrous. Usually, at the last minute, the French people say, “No, finally, we can’t have her as president,” and so Macron will win. The normal right-wing conservative party is in trouble. If you see the Republican Party in the United States, it is similar. You say, “How are they going to put themselves back together again?” They will eventually.

Marine Le Pen is a dead end. If you look at her program, the last time she wanted to pull out of the European Union and the euro-zone . . . what was it based on and where did it disappear to? She is truly incoherent. You remember that Steve Bannon came here, thinking he was going to organize the new alt-right in Europe. He went back home where, excuse me, he can talk nonsense. So, yes, the forces that can defend democracy do not come from an undemocratic political party. And the Rassemblement National is not democratic and there is no way that they can solve the problems that are facing us.

Jerry Gordon: So, what does that say about Macron’s chances next year? And is it too early to even address those?

Nidra Poller: Well, something I never like to do is guess how an election would turn out. Especially because, most often ,the population does not agree with me. I think Macron’s chances are rather good because he is going in the right direction on the burning issues. If he did not, if he took the position that to beat Marine Le Pen he had to show that he is in favor of diversity and equal opportunity, not stigmatizing delinquents and so on, then he would have no chance. But I think he is smart and that he will not go that way. So, I think he has a good chance.

Jerry Gordon: There is a report out that France is going to be releasing upwards of several hundred Jihadists from prison. How is it going to deal with it?

Nidra Poller: Well, as in all the world, they will deal with it partially. They are very much aware of the problem. No democratic country has enough people to follow all these Islamists. While they are following the ones that got out of prison, the new ones coming up will start to do their thing. It is a huge problem. It is a problem of war on civilization. So, each time you look at one aspect of it you say, “Oh, how are they going to deal with it.” Well, they will try. They are not naive . You know they used to have very harsh words for Guantanamo, but in a way, that is the kind of set up you need for Jihadists. If you are going to negotiate with Iran, if you are going to make a ceasefire with Hamas, if you are going to let Jihadists out of prison, obviously you are going to let the fire that wants to burn you up smolder. Little by little, I think, democracies are learning what they are dealing with. I remain confident that democracies will get smart enough soon enough and will not be destroyed. But it is a tough fight anyway and anywhere you look at it.

There is no place to be smug, no place to say, “All those stupid Europeans, they don’t know, we know.” Because that is not true. We all must think together, to come with a new strategy. I’m in favor of that, and when we’re faced with a crisis as occurring today, that is the occasion to say, “Oh, we have to be sharper about it, we have to think better about it. Israel must be more forceful. You can feel that today. Israeli forces are not going to bend to phony international pressure. That is an important positive development. Later, those of us who are not on the front lines will analyze that and will use that to develop better strategies, both for everyday domestic and for international situations.  There is more solidarity with Israel today. I saw something interesting—that the United Arab Emirates said to Hamas, “If you don’t stop shooting rockets, we won’t invest anymore.” That is a beautiful outcome from the Abraham Accords. It only shifts slightly, but every shift is important.

Jerry Gordon: Speaking about Israel, there was a contretemps this past weekend about the Israelis taking out a building, flattening it, that had the press quarters for Al Jazeera, the BBC, and the US AP.

Nidra Poller: Yes.

Jerry Gordon: There was an interesting comment made by Jonathan Spyer in Israel.

Nidra Poller: Yes.

Jerry Gordon: Spyer brought to my attention and a lot of others who saw his Facebook post, the fact that these news organizations must make what I call, “A pact with the devil,” to position themselves in hotspots, whether it is Gaza, or Syria, or some other locale in the news these days. There is a question about whether they have made a Faustian bargain for freedom of the press.

Nidra Poller: I must say that I enjoyed that. First, their argument is, “But we are here to tell you what’s going on.” “Oh, but you were in the building, but you didn’t know what was going on in the building where you worked every day?” The message is exactly that, if you are willing to snuggle up to Hamas in the same building, in the same governing structure, you are not there as an opposition press. You are not there as the press that says, “Now we’re going to tell the truth about what’s going on here.” We have been following this for years. Are they telling the truth about what goes on in Gaza? Absolutely not. including telling us that buildings in Gaza are just hovels, refugees living in hovels, in dirt, mud. Suddenly we discovered all these noticeably big luxurious buildings. To my mind, this was one of the best strikes by Israel. Say whatever they want, the position of the foreign press in Gaza is unjustifiable. The fact is they were in that building and the building was destroyed, so now let them find another place to set up their tents.

Jerry Gordon: Someone who I think you respect, I certainly do, is Colonel Richard Kemp.

Nidra Poller: Yes.

Jerry Gordon: Sky News report came out with an interesting observation by him. He said, “Israel has delivered a body blow to Hamas and its partner Palestinian Islamic Jihad.” To use a ruse, which is a good word, I think, of French origin, or a feint, as someone else recorded it, was appropriate to destabilize and degrade Jihadist leadership in these massive attacks that occurred early Friday morning last week. He should know. In 2014 he was a quasi-personal consultant to Prime Minister Netanyahu during the 2014 Operation Protective Edge in Gaza, and reported factually what was occurring on the ground and Israel’s military doctrine. He subsequently provided testimony on that before the UN “Human Rights” Council in Geneva. The credibility of his latest comments on 2021 Operation Guardian of the Walls stems from having fought Jihadists in Afghanistan as a British commander of forces there and having personally been on the scene during Operation Protective Edge back in 2014. He knows what he is talking about.

Nidra Poller: I found that all so enlightening. Really, it gives you strength ,if I can say it that way. In a recent issue of my press review for ELNET, I gave a summary of an earlier, brilliant article by Kemp, about how to fight this kind of war. It helps you to understand what is going on. The concept of endless wars is so childish and so ignorant. Kemp explains what kind of war we are facing today and why you must fight it in a different way.

You watch the news and you go on to something else, you go back to the news, you read it in the press you are on the computer, you look at TV and suddenly they are talking about a ground invasion. I immediately think of my friends whose children or grandchildren are in the Israeli army and were poised for a ground invasion. Then the next day, you realize that it was a trick. That was beautifully done. I have heard that the chief of staff of the Israeli Army is very sharp in strategy. It is not just a question of having a lot of weapons. That is why I continue to be optimistic, because I think democracies learn. I hearken back to the imagery of this protester in Paris going to be pushed over by a water cannon, standing there with a Palestinian flag upside down and sideways. He is not going to get anywhere. It really matters for us to know that, because if you lose heart, you cannot defend yourself. That is why I constantly try in my writing and speaking to people to say, “No, don’t lose heart. Keep your mind sharp and look clearly at what’s happening and adapt to each step.”

There is such a strong temptation to constantly go back to the past and talk about the present as if it were the past. As Jews, we are not in the position of victims as we used to be, and it is important to know that. We have a message to the democracies. The message is not one of the canaries in the mine. The message is, we must help you to defend yourself, because if the democracies fall, we as Jews cannot defend ourselves alone. If you do not heed what is happening to us and the way that we are able to overcome it by our intellectual efforts, then you will not be able to defend yourself. I do feel, despite what the common beliefs in the United States, this is the direction we are going … especially in France. I do not deny the falling back to the old habits and all this perverse condemnation of Israel that exists. However, that is not the thrust of the future and it is that thrust we must follow. Take the movement that is going in the right direction and encourage it, and not be obsessed with all the backslidings.

Jerry Gordon: Two final questions. Macron showed up at the funeral of Chad’s heroic president Idriss Déby. It raises a question about France’s support for combating Jihadism across the whole continent in what is called the Sahel, what used to be called French Equatorial Africa. The question is, how successful has that been and what kind of support should the US consider bring to the table? I raise this for a reason. USA has something called the AFRICOM, the African Command. Guess where it is headquartered?

Nidra Poller: Wait a minute, Djibouti? No, it is not that. Tell me…

Jerry Gordon: Stuttgart, Germany. There has been a request made by the current head of the Nigerian government, a former senior military officer, about maybe it is time for the US to establish a real command center in Africa, to deal with the question of the Jihadism threat in the region.

Nidra Poller: Yes. Let us try to break it down: The French stepped up in Mali, because they saw that the Jihadis were going to reach Bamako. That is a step away from North African countries, a skip across the Mediterranean to France. Talk about endless wars. Mali would fall under the category as an endless war. The French could not go in, wipe them out and come home. An interesting thing is, the French, in the recent past, did not much like the military. They have changed but, they do not have much taste for battlefield scenes. The soldiers are over there fighting so hard, and they are incredibly good, However, you do not see it in the news, as if it were not happening. It is a hopeless situation, but they are doing their best. They try to get other European countries to pitch in. Up to now, it is almost impossible. The United States cannot be the world leader and then just pull out every time things get tough, or you cannot win, right? We are in a situation where you cannot win. All we can do right now is fight. So, of course United States must get involved. Daesh, the Islamic State is reconstituting. You see what is happening in Afghanistan.

Every time you turn your back, they are building up in some other lost corner of Africa. I had close contact with Burkina Faso. When I went there, it was such a beautiful, quiet place, lovely experience of Africa. Today they are beset with every kind of terrorist attack. The Muslims are fighting the Christians in Burkina Faso and elsewhere. Of course, you must deal with all those things. I do not know at what stage, but somewhere along the way the US will must get involved.

Jerry Gordon: The legacy of the late President of Chad, Déby indicated he did the right thing. He trained his senior commanders, one of whom I know, in the United States to deal with this. Chad formed a unit of about the same size as the French that has ranged across all the Sahel, to attack the Jihadists in places like Mali, Burkina Faso, and others. It is an indication that if there is the commitment on the part of the leadership in these countries threatened to be overrun by Jihadism in Africa, that the resources of both the French and the Americans, could be used to train effective native forces and commanders to combat this threat in the Sahel.

Nidra Poller: Perhaps with a greater success than what they are trying to do in Afghanistan.

Jerry Gordon: That’s another potential explosive problem.

Nidra Poller: Yes.

Jerry Gordon: Last question, before we end this interesting conversation.

Nidra Poller: Since we are deep into reality.

Jerry Gordon: What is happening with the third lockdown in France for COVID?

Nidra Poller: Now we are going to be unlocked. We are going to be unlocked Wednesday, this week. Yes, it is fun to see what happens. The Parisians are going to run to the cafes. We have the most dreadful weather you can imagine, nothing like spring. It is very cold . . . most days, it is about 14 degrees Celsius. We have wind every day, horrible wind. But I can tell you, the Parisians will be on those cafe terraces, even if it rains, they will be there.

Fauci Conspiracy??????????????

Wow, it seems the radical right is attacking the integrity and honesty of the esteemed “Dr” Fauci. The right is now claiming the good doctor has a slew of e-mails suggesting that there was a good possibility that the China virus was manufactured in a Wuhan lab. This just can’t be true, can it Deano?

They point out he was denying this allegation back in the beginning of 2020, when these e-mails were exchanged. You know, when President Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo were suggesting it quite possibly was man made in a laboratory.

Please Deano, don’t tell me that President Trump was right again! I mean the right is screaming from the rafters about a major coverup. You know , accusing all those credible news , like yourselves and other media outlets, of promoting this idea, that this was just a right wing political ploy, pushing conspiracy theories during an election year. The right often refers to it as a Plandemic. They are accusing such trustworthy stalwarts as Jack Dorsey and Twitter, Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook, even the ever unbiased CNN as well as you pristine guys over at the Times, of censorship and working as a propaganda arm of the Democratic Party. The audacity of the radical right, I mean where is the proof………well, President Trump is a racist!

The also point to the many flip flops on mask use by Ole Doc Fauci, and just his general incompetence. There are purportedly e-mails where he admits that the masks are basically useless. That it may help against large droplets like a sneeze, but are useless against the general airborne particles. My own doctor last year, equated it to trying to catch mosquitoes with a chain link fence. He asked me to leave though, as I started screaming you have to follow the science like doc Fauci and Andy Cuomo reminds me daily! So, I have been following the science , just like, I’m sure you have been Deano. But, you have to admit, it was a little tough following his guidelines. You know no mask necessary, yes it is necessary, two masks should do the trick, oh, they are really not needed.

I tried to reach Joey for comment, but he put the lid on the things, as it was getting late in the day.

It was after all 4 in the afternoon. This, I’m told is when Joey likes to settle in and watch Judge Judy and Matlock with pudding cup or two.

I tried to reach Kamala. But she was out shoe shopping. The right is calling her grossly incompetent and in way over her head. You just wait radical right, just wait for that press conference regarding the border catastrophe, just wait, just wait………………just wait, President Trump is a racist.

That is why I’m looking for you Deano, to come out blazing against this Conservative assault, light up the front page refuting all these baseless allegations. I just can’t wait for today’s edition. Of course, I hope there are the usual couple of stories about Russian collusion in the 2016 election or President Trump’s tax return. Stay away from that other propaganda also Deano. You know, rampant inflation, gas prices, food prices skyrocketing. Small businesses crumbling, due to people making more money sitting home….you go Joey. Cyberattacks on the rise, Joey caving to Putin, removing Russian sanctions on pipelines, while shutting ours down. Major Cities ablaze, crime skyrocketing. Maybe a story on what Joey claims is the biggest problem in our country, systematic racism and white supremacy. Yeah, that’s the ticket.

Of course the right keeps referring to Joey as a cognitively challenged puppet for the likes of Pelosi, Schumer, AOC and the like. I myself, see a strategic genius, plotting his next move. Don’t get me started on his superior orating skills, clear ,concise and unscripted, reminds me of a young Jack Kennedy.

As always, the Times integrity is beyond reproach. CNN as well, just outstanding. Keep fighting the allegations from the radical right, or do what you do best, don’t even acknowledge anything that doesn’t fit your narrative. Your following if I be so bold, is almost cult like. Not Jim Jones cult like mind you. Wait a minute, his ideology was based on Socialism, so………..you guessed it, President Trump is a racist.

The example you set for our children is immeasurable. Thank you shaping the young minds of America. You must be so proud.
