U.S. Venture Capital Firms Participated In Chinese Gov’t ‘Technology Transfer’ Contests

Five U.S.-based venture capital firms have participated in Chinese government-backed entrepreneurial contests that effectively aid Beijing’s “technology transfer” strategy, according to a Daily Caller News Foundation review of Chinese-language contest records.

U.S.-based venture capital (VC) firms GGV Capital, GSR Ventures, IDG Capital, Sequoia Capital and Walden International are variously identified as “participating institutions” and/or “angel investors” in Chinese government-backed “start-up” contests supporting the Thousand Talents Plan, according to the contest’s brochures and promotional videos. Executives from these five VC firms have served as Thousand Talents Plan start-up contest judges, steering committee members and mentors for contestants going back to the first 2012 contest, according to a DCNF review of contest records.

For example, the first contest’s website identifies GSR Ventures’ co-founder, Sonny Wu, and IDG Capital’s global chairman, Hugo Shong, as steering committee members. The contest website also lists GGV Capital’s managing partner, Jixun Foo, Sequoia Capital’s global executive partner, Neil Shen, and Walden International’s managing director, Bill Li, as either judges or contestant mentors.

“Launched in 2008, the Thousand Talents Plan incentivizes individuals engaged in research and development in the United States to transmit the knowledge and research they gain here to China in exchange for salaries, research funding, lab space and other incentives,” a staff report by the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs said in 2019.

In January 2022, Jeff Stoff, a former U.S. government analyst and linguist, warned the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission about how China is using “start-up contests” to obtain U.S. technology.

“A key element of China’s technology transfer apparatus are the tethers it has built to tap into the R&D and innovation occurring inside the U.S.,” Stoff testified in 2022. “In addition to benefitting from informal research collaboration and partnerships with U.S. academic institutions described in the previous section, China’s party-state deploys official and unofficial proxies; investment structures such as venture capital funds, incubators and innovation centers; start-up contests; talent programs and supporting recruitment networks; and partnerships with diaspora organizations, at least some of which are part of China’s United Front apparatus commonly and myopically viewed in terms of political influence operations.”

In July 2023, the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) announced it was launching “investigations into U.S. venture capital firms funding problematic PRC companies.” Chairman Mike Gallagher and Ranking Member Raja Krishnamoorthi, the announcement said, “sent letters to four U.S. Venture Capital Firms — GGV Capital, GSR Ventures, Qualcomm Ventures and Walden International — expressing serious concern and demanding information about the firms’ investments in Chinese artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductor and quantum companies in the People’s Republic of China (PRC).”

“Advanced technologies — even if they start out with an innocuous, consumer focus — can be integrated into the CCP’s techno-totalitarian surveillance state or into China’s military modernization,” Chairman Gallagher told the DCNF. “In fact, that is exactly what China’s policy of military-civil fusion requires.”

“While all four firms have begun producing information, we still have a lot of unanswered questions,” Gallagher said.

None of the VC firms targeted by the House committee have been accused of illegal activities, nor have they been charged with any crimes.

‘I Have An Ambition To Transfer My Achievements’

The Chinese government launched its Thousand Talents Plan in 2008. Four years later, the Thousand Talents Plan Venture Capital Center and the Thousand Talents Plan Expert Association jointly held the first Thousand Talents Plan contest in 2012, the contest’s website states.

The inaugural contest — called the “East Sand Lake Thousand Talents Plan Start-Up Contest” — shared its name with the Chinese city of Suzhou’s East Sand Lake, which is near the Thousand Talents Plan Venture Capital Center, according to a brochure on the center’s website.

The Thousand Talents Plan’s contest “gives entrepreneurs the chance to find investment backing to establish companies in China,” according to a 2021 Department of Defense (DOD) report concerning China’s state-sponsored technology transfers.

The inaugural contest’s organizing committee was “composed of Thousand Talents Plan Venture Capital Center and Thousand Talents Expert Association representatives,” according to the contest’s website.

In addition to executives from U.S.-based VC firms, executives from China-based VC firms with U.S. offices also served as judges and/or on the steering committee for the inaugural contest. This includes Sinovation Ventures‘ founder, Li Kaifu; Northern Light Venture Capital‘s founding managing director, Deng Feng; and Qiming Venture Partners‘ founding managing partner, Kuang Ziping, according to the contest’s records.

Sinovation Ventures, Northern Light Venture Capital and Qiming Venture Partners did not respond to multiple requests for comment. Li, Deng and Kuang could also not be reached for comment.

The inaugural contest proceeded in several phases between April 2012 and March 2013, according to the contest’s archived website. Contestants first submitted business plans, which then underwent preliminary evaluation, before the contest’s semi-finals and final in-person competition, the contest’s website states.

In the run up to the finals, the judges evaluated contestants’ business proposals and narrowed down a pool of at least 400 applicants to 66 contestants, from which 20 finalists emerged, according to the contest’s website.

During the March 2013 finals, contestants presented their business proposals for six-minutes, before a 10-minute question-and-answer session, with judges from the various VC firms scoring the finalists’ projects and determining the winners, according to the contest’s rules and procedures.

In the end, the inaugural Thousand Talents Plan contest awarded first prize to a project involving nanomedicine and tissue regeneration products, according to the contest’s website. After the finals, the contest’s main page featured a photo of first prize being awarded to the winner who was identified as Wen Xuejun, a professor in the Department of Chemical and Life Science Engineering at Virginia Commonwealth University.

“After winning the championship, he received 10 million yuan ($1.6 million) in strategic funding from venture capital investors, as well as 300,000 yuan in prize money,” Chinese state-run media outlet China Daily reported several months after the finals.

Before the contest, Wen’s U.S. lab had “mastered a core technology to make collagen-coated medical catheters, which are more resistant to bacteria and cost less,” China Daily reported. Wen told China Daily that he established Ryan Nanomedicine Co. Ltd. in Suzhou, because “the cost of commercializing the technology in the U.S. would have been too high.”

“I have an ambition to transfer my achievements in the lab into useful medical products, and I chose to realize this ambition in China, after careful consideration,” Wen said, according to China Daily.

A Virginia Commonwealth University spokesman referred press inquiries to Wen.

“Yes, Ryan Nanomedicine took part in the ‘Thousand Talents Plan Start-Up Contest,’” Wen told the DCNF via email, adding that his start-up never actually received any prize money.

“Ryan nanomedicine got 300K (~$41K) for participating in the competition to cover the expenses attending the contest,” Wen told the DCNF. “But Ryan nanomedicine didn’t get 10 million yuan venture capital investment because no investment company was interested in investing Ryan nanomedicine. I felt we were cheated by the competition organizer.”

‘Overvalue Opportunities And Undervalue Risks’

In 2019, the East Sand Lake Thousand Talents Plan Start-Up Contest rebranded as the “Jinji Lake Thousand Talents Plan Start-Up Contest,” taking its name from another nearby Suzhou lake. The contest, however, remains backed by the Chinese government and administered by members of the Thousand Talents Plan Venture Capital Center and the Thousand Talents Plan Expert Association, according to a review of the contest’s website.

Executives from GGV Capital, GSR Ventures, IDG Capital, Sequoia Capital and Walden International have continued to participate in the Thousand Talents Plan’s contests since their 2012 inception, and members of each VC firm are listed on the contest’s 2023 roster, contest records show.

“These judges are likely in it for the connections and the money that comes from the connections,” Dan Harris, a lawyer specializing in emerging markets and the editor of China Law Blog, told the DCNF. “By participating, they are aiming to be the first person called when these companies — or other Chinese companies — seek foreign funding.”

However, maintaining a bullish investment approach towards China may be financially risky “given the laundry list of political, economic, security and geostrategic risks,” Steve Yates, senior fellow at the America First Policy Institute and China Policy Initiative chair, told the DCNF.

“It truly is remarkable that venture capital firms would continue to overvalue opportunities and undervalue risks in China,” Yates said, citing the possibility of war in the Taiwan Strait and China’s apparent real estate bubble.

Far too few companies investing in China have realistic exit strategies, Harris added.

“Getting the money out has become increasingly difficult,” he said, “but this has not received much coverage because few want to be viewed as not having seen this coming.”

‘The Interests Of The State’

Although brochures and promotional videos for the Thousand Talents Plan’s contests identify GGV Capital, GSR Ventures, IDG Capital, Sequoia Capital and Walden International as “participating institutions” and/or “angel investors” for the contests, it remains unclear with which contestants these VC firms may have invested, if any.

In July 2023, the House Select Committee on the CCP sent a letter to GGV Capital stating that from “2015 to 2021, GGV Capital conducted 43 investment transactions in PRC AI companies — more than every other firm examined by the Center for Emerging Technology in a recent study.”

“GGV,” the letter said, “has invested in Megvii, which actively supports the surveillance of Uyghurs.”

The Treasury Department in 2021 identified Megvii as “part of the Chinese Military-Industrial Complex.”

For their part, Sequoia Capital and Walden International have both invested in Chinese drone manufacturer DJI, according to the investment portfolios on the VC firm’s websites. The Treasury Department identified DJI as “part of the Chinese Military-Industrial Complex” in 2021.

GSR Ventures, IDG Capital and Sequoia Capital have likewise invested in Chinese AI chip manufacturer Horizon Robotics, according to Horizon Robotics’ website. In July 2023, the Select Committee on the CCP identified Horizon Robotics as “PLA-linked,” stating that “the CEO of Horizon Robotics was recognized for his contributions to the PRC’s military-civil fusion strategy.”

In June 2023, Sequoia Capital China was split-off from Sequoia Capital’s main operations, according to Nikkei Asia. Despite this split, Sequoia Capital China’s website and the 2023 Thousand Talents Plan contest steering committee roster identify Neil Shen as both Sequoia Capital’s “global executive partner” as well as Sequoia Capital China’s “founder and executive partner.”

GGV Capital, GSR Ventures, IDG Capital, Sequoia Capital, Sequoia Capital China, Walden International and their executives did not respond to multiple requests for comment.

One of the key points raised by Colonel Mills is the resemblance between the current situation in the United States and the well-known “little green man” strategy used by Russia. This term, “little green man,” is used to describe agents or operatives placed by Russia in target regions, often as a prelude to invasions, as seen in Georgia in 2008 and Ukraine in 2014 and 2022. These agents are used to foment unrest, gather intelligence, and create chaos to facilitate Russia’s strategic objectives.

Over 107 thousand illegal Chinese military-aged immigrants have been admitted into the United States since Biden took office.

Colonel Mills draws a parallel with China’s attempts to employ a similar strategy in Taiwan. However, he highlights the success of a new national security law passed in December 2019, which has helped identify and neutralize such agents who were operating within the legacy Kuomintang (KMT) political party which should serve as a guide to a similar solution here in the US.

The core concern is that, with the unsecured Southern Border acting as a point of entry, the United States could be hosting an array of such covert operatives, whether they be international terrorists or Chinese paramilitaries.

The dark relationship between China, Islamism, and conflicts in the Middle East is alarming. China has established ties with Iran, which is predominantly Shia, and Iran, in turn, supports Hezbollah, another Shia organization. However, Iran also supports Sunni Hamas in the Palestinian territories. The notion of “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” often applies in these cases.

The Chinese state media’s coverage of the Israel-Hamas conflict is concerning, portraying the United States as an “enemy of peace” in the context of this conflict. This rhetoric reflects the wider geopolitical rivalry between China and the United States, where both nations are positioning themselves as global powers.

The Chinese Communist Party’s aggressive stance toward Taiwan, along with territorial disputes with neighboring countries like India, the Philippines, and Japan, underscores its broader ambitions and the complex geopolitical landscape in the Asia-Pacific region. The interplay between China’s foreign policy, support for various factions in the Middle East, and its wider geopolitical goals paints a dangerous picture.

As the United States grapples with the ongoing border security issue, it becomes crucial to address the potential presence of covert operatives, agents, or actors who might be leveraging the situation for their purposes.

As Democrats Disparage School Choice, Experts Say Increased Competition Fuels Innovation

While states have successfully expanded their school choice programs, left-wing critics argue that the programs are an “existential threat” to public education. But experts are pointing out that not only do school choice programs relieve pressure off of the public education sector and provide parents with more schooling options, they are also proving to help students thrive academically and are fueling academic competition and innovation.

On Sunday, National Review reported that Florida has seen an additional 90,000 students enroll in private schools and other “innovative” educational programs in the last year due to the universal school choice bill that was enacted this year, marking a 43% increase in the number of students enrolled in the program, which now totals over 256,000 students. The program allows any Florida family to use state scholarships funded by corporate tax credits and other state funds to send their children to the private school of their choice.

Currently, 10 states have enacted school choice programs similar to Florida’s.

As the programs have expanded nationwide, Democratic lawmakers have almost universally denounced the programs, claiming that they present an “existential threat” to the public school system by redirecting public money away from it. But as observers have noted, the financial shortfall projections that left-leaning organizations have claimed would occur have proven to be wildly inaccurate. The Florida Policy Institute estimated that the state’s school choice program would cost the state $2 billion to fund scholarships in its first year, which was almost 10 times higher than the legislature’s estimate.

“They were grossly over-inflated in their estimates, and that they did so, in my mind, deliberately to stop kids from having the kind of customized, quality education that they deserve, and only for partisan purposes and in defense of their union allies that put the needs and interests of institutions and adults over the needs of children,” said Florida House Speaker Paul Renner (R).

Renner went on to tell National Review that “we’ve had Democrat members who have reached out to us, our staff, to find out how their families can benefit from the scholarship, even though they voted against our bill.”

In recent years, public education has seen a remarkable downturn in equipping students with proficiency in basic skills. Reading and math scores are currently at their lowest levels since 1971, and the Associated Press reported in May that “40% of eighth grade students are performing below basic proficiency in history, meaning they likely cannot identify simple historical concepts in primary or secondary sources,” with 31% “performing below basic proficiency in civics.”

At the same time, recent studies have shown that students who are enrolled in school choice programs show more political tolerance than public school students, with “13 studies showing a private-school advantage and only one showing a government-school advantage.” In addition, a study of Milwaukee’s school choice program found that it significantly reduced criminal activity of students, including a 53% reduction in drug convictions, an 86% reduction in property damage convictions, and a 38% reduction in paternity suits.

As Doug Tuthill, president of Step Up For Students, contended, school choice programs will lead to “a lot more growth with very innovative 21st-century learning environments.” He went on to observe that “we’re in a weird place where the people who like to think of themselves as progressives are very, very conservative and traditional. They do not want the innovation and change. When people say, ‘You’re trying to destroy public education,’ what I hear is, ‘You’re trying to destroy my 1950s concept about what public education should be.’ And that’s true, we are trying to move away from a one-size-fits-all industrial model that’s been around really since the 1800s.”

Meg Kilgannon, senior fellow for Education Studies at Family Research Council, concurred, while also arguing that the rise of controversial ideologies on gender, race, and sexuality that have arisen in public schools are a direct threat to Christian families — further highlighting the value of school choice programs and the need for Christian engagement in the educational sector.

“These kinds of dire predictions of ultimate demise are typical fearmongering from the Left,” she told The Washington Stand. “They are afraid of their own demise if they are prevented from indoctrinating a new generation of leftist activists via highly politicized public education. As birth rates decline in the U.S., the fight for the minds and hearts of children will intensify. Christians need to engage in our educational system in every way: churches starting their own schools and Christians running for office or serving as teachers, administrators, or staff. Our witness is desperately needed.”

Anguished Families Cling to Hope that Hamas Hostages Will Be Found

“I can’t describe such a moment in words where you watch your whole family get taken away from you,” Yoni Asher tried to explain. Summoning the courage to keep talking, he looked around the room of diplomats, U.N. officials, and other suffering families, and put himself back in the moment where his world changed forever.

“My wife was visiting her mother at one of the kibbutzim, and I stayed home,” Yoni stopped, as he probably had a million times in the last week, to let his decision sink in. “I got a phone call from my wife,” who was, “scared — scared,” he repeated, “whispering, terrif[ied], saying that she’s hearing gunshots and people are entering the house.” It wasn’t until later that he saw the video of his wife and two daughters on one of Hamas’s cars or trucks. “I recognized them,” Yoni said quietly of his two little girls, Raz and Aviv, and his wife, Doron.

As the tears fell freely down his face, Yoni finally got out the words that thousands of tortured families have said since October 7: “I woke up to the worst nightmare of my life.”

Others, like Yakov Argamani, pace around their houses, clutching a book of psalms. Surrounded by memories, he mourns that his beautiful teenage daughter’s smell is gone from the room. “Noa was here, there, everywhere,” he told The New York Times’s Jeffrey Gettleman. “All of a sudden, it’s gone. And I’m lost,” the broken father laments.

Other dads, like Hen Avigdori, try to comfort the one child who’s left — while slipping away to cry for his son’s missing sister and mom. “I’m in this endless loop of hope and despair, hope and despair,” he said. “I need some proof of life. I need to know where my wife and daughter are.”

From Thailand to France and America, the families of the 199 missing hostages are in an aching form of limbo. Between television interviews and underground meetings with government officials in Tel Aviv, they live hour to hour, haunted by their last conversations and the knowledge of what Hamas is capable of. To so many, captivity is a fate worse than death. As one heartbroken father told reporters, realizing his eight-year-old little girl had been killed was better than thinking of her in the terrorists’ hands. “It’s a blessing,” an emotional Thomas Hend told CNN the moment he learned Emily’s fate. “She was either dead or in Gaza,” he said after the 48-hour search. “And if you know anything about what they do in Gaza, that is worse than death.”

The number held by Hamas, which Israeli officials increased to almost 200 over the weekend, is complicating things for the soldiers on the ground. While teams of military teams search the 30-mile Gaza strip, terrorist Abu Obeida warned that his men have scattered the hostages — babies, grandmothers, young women, newly orphaned children, and soldiers — in “safe places and the tunnels of resistance” all throughout the area.

Brigadier General Daniel Hagari, a top Israeli military spokesman, insisted they have information on the location of the captives and sought to reassure families that the troops “will not carry out an attack that would endanger our people.” In the meantime, Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, issued a stunning declaration, offering himself to Hamas if the terrorists would let the child hostages go. “I am ready for an exchange, anything, if this can lead to freedom, to bring the children home.”

Countless parents at the makeshift headquarters of the Families of Hostages and Missing Persons Forum would almost certainly do the same. “All we have been told is that her phone is in Gaza,” Meirav Gonen said helplessly. Romi, who was kidnapped from the music festival, stayed on the line with her mom for almost 45 minutes until her phone went dead.

“I know she was shot,” Meirav explained. “She called me at 10:15 and I was on with her until 10:58, she was fading away and I heard shooting around her coming closer to the car and then people shouting in Arabic … shouting she was alive and that they need her.”

Romi’s face is one of many lining the wall of Tel Aviv’s HaKirya government building, a horrifying reminder of the dozens of missing. “It’s so, so lonely,” Meirav chokes up. “All the thoughts and feelings that you have once you stop for a minute to listen to them.”

Lt. General (Ret.) Jerry Boykin understands the pain of hostage crises more than most. As commander of the Army’s elite Delta Force, he was one of the leaders on the failed mission to rescue Iran’s hostages in 1980. Like so many veterans, he knows the incredible lengths America will go to bring its people home. “I think most of what you see, other than the bombing and the shelling by the Israelis … is reconnaissance to try to locate the hostages,” he explained to guest host and former Congressman Jody Hice on “Washington Watch.” “This is a big issue for the Israelis because there are Americans being held. And I can assure that those people on the ground in [Gaza] include some Americans, our special operations that are experts at hostage rescue.”

But, Boykin warned, “the key thing to hostage rescue is good intelligence, and I think that’s what they’re doing [in Gaza right now]. … They’re in there looking for the hostages. And I pray that they will find them before the end of this campaign … because ultimately,” he said soberly, “these people will be killed if we can’t find them in time.”

White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby was cagey on Sunday about the involvement of U.S. special ops, saying only that the military “won’t rule anything in or out” about the hostage effort on the ground.

For now, Boykin insisted, the world needs to keep its eye on the ball. All of this, he argued, “is on the backs of Hamas.” “Hamas is responsible for everything that has happened up to this point. There is nothing, no one killed, nothing that Hamas is not responsible for. And we have to remember that. … What has happened here is a terrible, brutal, even demonic attack on the Israelis. … And we stand with the Jews.”

Saturday, October 7th, 2023—a date which will live in infamy—as the Islamic terrorist organization Hamas began and continues its murderous slaughter of the innocents. This was not an attack on Israel, it was an attack on the World, Western Europe and mankind itself.

As of today we have learned the following:

  1. Hamas terrorist sympathizers held a rally in Orlando, Florida where a Screaming Jihadi In Yoga Pants. During the rally a Muslim woman was leading Muslim men (…the times are a changing!); the attendance was very poor (maybe, even Muslims realize HAMAS is ISIS); the terrorist sympathizers used the word “Zionist” instead of Jew (this is supposed to trick you into thinking this is NOT Jew-Hate); and the total ignorance about the facts of this war by those who attended. Are yoga pants Haram?
  2. Israel denounced Pope Frances’ Statement calling for a cease-fire as ‘unacceptable’. Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen denounced the Pope’s expression of concern “primarily” for Gaza civilians over Israelis and demanded a “clear and unequivocal” condemnation of the Hamas Oct. 7 terrorist attacks.
  3. The U.S. Congress is being asked to take action to stop stop Hamas terrorists based in Venezuela from crossing America’s border.

Progressive City Plans to Hand Out ‘Guaranteed Incomes’ To Transgenders, Illegal Immigrants

If you didn’t think San Francisco could get any more liberal, think again.

The progressive city announced plans to hand out money to low-income transgender people, favoring black and “Latinx” recipients in particular. The “Guaranteed Income for Trans People” (GIFT) program will also be open to illegal immigrants and people who are incarcerated.

According to 1,719 pages of documents from the City of San Francisco, obtained by Judicial Watch, San Francisco will allocate tax dollars on a preferential basis for black and Latino transgender individuals through a program that offers financial assistance to transgender people

Fox News Digital reported: 

The pilot program provides low-income transgender residents with payments of up to $1,200 each month for up to 18 months with the goal of providing “economically marginalized transgender people with unrestricted, monthly guaranteed income as a way to combat poverty.” It uses pre-paid debit cards due to participants potentially not having bank accounts. The amount someone can receive is capped at $4,000. 

Program documents, including those on its public website, say it prioritizes enrollment by race as well as those who engage in “survival sex trades,” those who have been in prison, and illegal immigrants.

DHS Fails to Deport 99.7% of the 2.1 Million Illegal Immigrants it Freed Inside U.S.

Besides shattering records for allowing enormous amounts of illegal immigrants into the U.S. through the Mexican border, the Biden administration has also failed to deport millions of migrants released by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) inside the country pending removal proceedings. Between January 20, 2021, and March 31, 2023, the agency created after 9/11 to safeguard the nation freed at least 2,148,738 illegal aliens into the United States, government figures obtained by members of Congress reveal. Only 5,993 were actually deported, according to a distressing report released this week by the House Judiciary Committee.

Titled “The Biden Border Crisis: New Data and Testimony Show How the Biden Administration Opened the Southwest Border and Abandoned Interior Immigration Enforcement” the lengthy document includes new data obtained by federal lawmakers from DHS that expose the alarming state of immigration enforcement. Besides failing to remove millions of illegal immigrants released inside the country, the records show that a mere 6% of migrants were screened for fear of persecution when seeking asylum. “The Biden Administration has removed from the United States only 5,993 illegal aliens who were encountered at the southwest border and who were placed in removal proceedings before an immigration judge during that time,” the report states. “In other words, of the at least 2.1 million aliens released into the United States since January 20, 2021, the Biden Administration has failed to remove, through immigration court removal proceedings, roughly 99.7 percent of those illegal aliens,”

The U.S. Border Patrol recorded a ghastly 5 million illegal immigrant encounters during the period examined by federal lawmakers and an eye-popping 6.2 million since Biden took office. “More than two and a half years into President Biden’s term, his Administration’s border crisis continues unabated,” the report states. “Publicly available information shows that encounters of illegal aliens on the southwest border surpassed 100,000 for the 31st straight month and total southwest border illegal alien encounters exceeded 2.2 million in the first 11 months of fiscal year 2023.” The bad news continues. “In August 2023, encounters of illegal aliens at the southwest border skyrocketed to 232,972 and the unreleased encounter numbers for September 2023 will reportedly shatter previous records, exceeding 260,000 encounters in a single month,” the congressional report says. As if those figures were not bad enough, more than 1.7 million known “gotaways” have evaded Border Patrol and escaped into the U.S. since January 2021, the stats show, with “untold numbers of unknown gotaways avoiding detection during that period.”

As the illegal alien numbers keep rising and records get crushed, the Biden administration insists the border is under control with DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas laughably proclaiming his agency has made it very clear the border is not open, that crossing irregularly is against the law and those who are not eligible for relief will be quickly returned. That clearly has not materialized, figures provided in the House Judiciary Committee report show. In fiscal year 2021, the Biden administration released 310,379 illegal aliens at the southwest border. The number more than doubled during the administration’s first full fiscal year (2022) to 777,283. In the first 10 months of fiscal year 2023, Biden’s DHS released 929,496 illegal aliens encountered at the Mexican border. It is important to note that as outrageous as the figures are, they do not even include Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC), which immediately get transferred to the custody of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The report reveals that between fiscal year 2021 through the end of July 2023 at least 341,802 UAC were transferred to HHS shelters where American taxpayers spend a fortune to house, medically treat, educate, counsel and entertain them.

On September 29th  we reported: “The Biden administration and DHS have recently reclassified Venezuela for Temporary Protected Status (TPS), providing work permits and a shield from deportation to 472,000 that entered before July 31st. The cost of this one TPS grant cost Americans 56,640,000,000!

Uncoincidentally, the southern border is experiencing a surge of predominantly Venezuelan single adults with 4,000 entering this week alone, knowing that Biden has authorized the entry of 30,000 Venezuelans, Cubans, Haitians, and Nicaraguans every month under a ‘humanitarian parole program’ and would likely extend the TPS Status to parole’s entering after the current cut-off.”

Arguably, this special Venezuela program will likely result in a catastrophic national security nightmare, and here is why.

Iran, along with its Lebanon-based proxy, Hezbollah, has developed strong connections with Venezuela’s central government, primarily through the Lebanese diaspora residing in the country. These ties trace back to the late dictator Hugo Chavez’s rise to power in 1999 when he appointed numerous Venezuela-born Lebanese individuals to key cabinet positions. This presence and influence, bolstered by Russia in recent years, has persisted through the regime of Nicolas Maduro after Chavez’s passing.

Help Us Stop Hamas-Hezbollah Linked Venezuelan Aliens from Entering the US!

Inside contacts in Venezuela, have extensively reported on the collaboration between Iran, Hezbollah, and the Maduro regime. They are involved in establishing transnational organized crime networks, human smuggling operations, and financial networks spanning South America and even reaching the United States.

Intelligence services from the United States and Israel have long been aware that Iran, Hezbollah, and Venezuela provide these foreign operatives with state-sponsored cover identities and access to government resources like the state-run airline and banking systems, allowing them to operate freely in the Western Hemisphere.

This practice enables terrorist operatives to travel across regions and nations, engaging in illicit activities and building terrorism capabilities, all while keeping their true origins and identities hidden. The process involves the creation of comprehensive fake identities, complete with new birth certificates, passports, banking, and property records, falsely indicating that they were born in Venezuela.

In 2020, Reuters reported that former Venezuelan lawmaker Adel al Zabayar faced accusations from US federal prosecutors for his alleged involvement in a drug conspiracy, alongside President Nicolas Maduro, involving South American and Middle Eastern militant groups. Additionally, he was charged with aiding in the recruitment of Hezbollah and Hamas members for planning attacks against US targets. The charges are part of a broader case against Maduro and several other current and former Venezuelan officials, focusing on narco-terrorism and drug smuggling activities.

Last Monday, in a televised address, Maduro defended his narco-terrorist business partners stating, “We have witnessed in the past massacres and brutal atrocities against the Palestinian people.” The current situation, he pointed out, is a “new apartheid system” against Palestinians. “We demand an immediate ceasefire, respect for UN resolutions, respect for the rights of peoples, and the commencement of peace negotiations to allow the Palestinian people to regain their legitimate rights to independence, land, and peace.”

Maduro went on to state, “The government of Venezuela holds Israel responsible for the current escalation of violence as a result of its continuous violations of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and the systematic provocations against their sacred sites.”

Despite the numerous cases of clandestine Hezbollah agents being uncovered inside the United States, the full extent of their operations remains challenging to ascertain, given the complex mix of Venezuelans fleeing their country’s conditions and potential terror figures moving through the same corridors.

We must prioritize our nation’s genuine national security interests and reconsider our approach to Venezuelan illegal immigrants, as their unchecked entry could potentially lead to a catastrophic terror attack on U.S. soil. Let us not forget the ominous chants of Iran, Hezbollah, and Hamas: “Death to America, Death to Israel.”

Since October 7th we have learned:

      1. Senior Hamas official Ali Baraka confessed that they began secretly planning the invasion for two years, since the U.S. with drawl from Afghanistan.
      2. Biden’s Senior Director for Intelligence Programs Maher Bitar is a Palestinian.
      3. Qatar has been enabling Hamas’ war against Israel
      4. Israel’s last leftist government issued 17,000 work permits to Gazans which helped Hamas enter Israel.
      5. That the war against Israel is all about Islam, and Islam is all about terror.
      6. Iraqi Muqtada al-Sadr, leader of the Sadrist Movement, wants the destruction of the United States. Al-Sadr stated, “We are also waiting for the fall of the American entity, led by senile old Biden.”
      7. Hamas is a genocidal terrorist organization. Dr. Harold Brackman of the Simon Wiesenthal Center wrote, “Hamas has held secret summits with Al Qaeda operatives in locales as distant as India, and even sent a select few members to train in bin Laden’s Afghan camps. For what it’s worth, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas claimed in 2007 that: ‘It is Hamas that is shielding Al Qaeda, and through its bloody conduct, Hamas has become very close to Al Qaeda [in Gaza].’”
      8. The Hamas Charter, written in 1987, puts forth “The Slogan of the Hamas,” which closely resembles the Muslim Brotherhood’s credo and reads as follows: “Allah is its goal, the Prophet its model, the Qur’an its Constitution, Jihad its path, and death for the case of Allah its most sublime belief.”

Finally Daniel Greenfield reported, “The currently announced total is 22 Americans murdered in the attacks. This number will likely increase. It is however the single deadliest death toll for Americans from Islamic terrorism since the Pulse Massacre in Florida in 2016. Beginning with 9/11, this would appear to be the third deadliest Islamic mass murder of American civilians in this century.“

Prime Minister Netanyahu Vows To ‘Dismantle,’ ‘Obliterate’ Hamas As Troops Amass Along Border, Casualties Rise

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed Sunday to “dismantle” and “obliterate” Hamas, according to official statements.

“Hamas thought that we would come apart – we will dismantle Hamas,” Netanyahu said at a Cabinet meeting expanded to include five opposition National Unity Party members, including their leader, Benny Gantz.

Netanyahu’s expanded national emergency government was sworn in Thursday at the Knesset, the unicameral legislature of Israel. During the ceremony, Netanyahu said, “The sword of David has been pulled from the scabbard and the bow of Jonathan will not go back. I am certain that from the ‘Swords of Iron’ war, we will emerge stronger than ever.”

Netanyahu met with Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers Saturday while touring the Kibbutz Be’eri and Kibbutz Kfar Aza communities in the Gaza Envelope, where Hamas massacred over 1,300 civilians beginning daybreak Oct. 7. Netanyahu also spoke with U.S. President Joe Biden for the fifth time since the massacre, as well as German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, French President Emmanuel Macron and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, expressing appreciation for their support.

Referring to the Oct. 7 attack as “that cursed Saturday,” Netanyahu said in a speech at the Kirya military base Friday, “We will obliterate Hamas, we will triumph. It might take time, but we will end this war stronger than ever.”

Earlier that day, Netanyahu spoke with the families of the bereaved and the missing civilians, according to The Times of Israel. He then met and commiserated with grieving families Sunday, per the outlet.

The IDF called for Gazans to move south, saying, “Israel is at war with Hamas, not the people of Gaza.” Hamas has allegedly been hampering the civilian evacuation efforts, according to an IDF report.

The World Health Organization warned Saturday that patients and medical personnel in northern Gaza faced a potential death sentence if evacuated to the burdened south. Newborns receiving life-saving care there were also at risk, amid an impending Israeli ground assault, Reuters reported.

Senior Hamas official Ali Baraka said in an October 8, 2023 interview that aired on Russia Today TV that Hamas had been secretly planning the invasion of southern Israel for two years, even as it was making it seem like it was busy governing the Gaza Strip. He explained that this is the reason Hamas did not join the Palestinian Islamic Jihad in its previous round of fighting against Israel. He said that Hamas notified its allies in other Palestinian factions, in Hizbullah, in Iran, in Turkey, and in Russia only after the invasion started, and he stated that any prisoner exchange deal should involve Hamas prisoners held in the United States. Later in the interview, Baraka said that Hamas has a license from Russia to locally produce bullets for Kalashnikovs, that Russia sympathizes with Hamas, and that it is pleased with the war because it is easing American pressure on it with regard to the war in Ukraine.

Ali Baraka: “The zero hour was kept completely secret. A limited number of Hamas leaders knew it. The number of people who knew about the attack and its timing could be counted on one hand.

“In the past couple of years, Hamas has adopted a ‘rational’ approach. It did not go into any war, and did not join the Islamic Jihad in its recent battle.”

Interviewer: “But all this was part of Hamas’s strategy in preparing for this attack.”

Baraka: “Of course. We made them think that Hamas was busy with governing Gaza, and that it wanted to focus on the 2.5 million Palestinians [in Gaza], and has abandoned the resistance altogether.

“The rockets of the resistance cover all of Palestine. Where would [Netanyahu] take [the Israelis who were attacked]? To Tel Aviv? We bombed Tel Aviv on the very first day of the attack. Does he want to take them to the Galilee? The northern front – with Lebanon – has opened today. The Galilee is no longer safe for the Zionist enemy. We can bomb the Galilee from inside occupied Palestine.

“In order to keep the attack secret and successful, the different factions and our allies did not know the zero hour. But after half an hour, all the Palestinian resistance factions were contacted as were our allies in Hizbullah and Iran. The Turks were also notified, and a meeting was held with them three hours later, at 9 am. We updated anyone who contacted us. Even the Russians sent a message and enquired, and they were updated about the situation and about the goals of the war.”

Interviewer: “There are also Palestinian prisoners outside of Israel, in European countries.”

Baraka: “There are also prisoners in the U.S. We want them. Of course. There are Hamas members sentenced for life in the U.S. We want them too. Of course. We demand that the U.S. free our sons from prisons. The U.S. conducts prisoner swaps. Only recently, it did one with Iran. Why wouldn’t it conduct a prisoner swap with us? After all, it is participating in this war. Biden, the highest authority in the U.S., declared that he stands with Israel against Hamas and the Palestinian people. Therefore, he is a partner to this aggression, he must pay the price.

There is also Hizbullah, and the Arab and Islamic people who are standing by us. There are countries that support us politically. Even Russia sympathizes with us. Even the Russians sent us messages yesterday morning. They sympathize with us. Russia is happy that America is getting embroiled in Palestine. It alleviates the pressure on the Russians in Ukraine. One war eases the pressure in another war. So we are not alone on the battlefield.”

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) joined Meet the Press this morning to discuss the ongoing battle for the next Speaker of the US House of Representatives.

[O]n Friday, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) won the GOP nomination for Speaker. Jordan is wildly popular with grassroots conservatives and numerous conservative groups. Several Kevin McCarthy supporters were outraged that the grassroots would challenged the entrenched Republican establishment and remove the former Speaker from office.

On Sunday Jeffries, one of the least impressive political leaders in recent history, told Meet the Press that a handful of RINOs are working with Democrats to sabotage Jim Jordan’s vote in the House.

Kristen Welker: We heard you talking about a bipartisan solution to resolving this stalemate in the House. Are you actually having conversations behind the scenes with your Republican counterparts about trying to create a bipartisan solution, a governing coalition?

Hakeem Jeffries: There are informal conversations that have been underway. When we get back to Washington tomorrow, it’s important to begin to formalize those discussions. From the very beginning of this Congress, House Democrats have made clear that we want to continue to put people over politics and to fight for things like lower costs, better paying jobs, safer communities, and to build an economy that works from the middle out and the bottom up.

If this happens it will be the end of the Republican party.

The Star of David has been graffitied on the doors of homes in Berlin, in a chilling echo of anti-Semitic persecution of Jewish people under the Nazis.

Pictures circulating online show the symbol was drawn on several buildings, with four cases reported to German police in recent days.

Jewish people living in the German capital have reported a rise in abuse following Hamas’s bloody attack on Israel last week.

Among those targeted by vandalism was a young Jewish woman, who said she was shocked when she returned to her apartment on Thursday evening to find a star marked on her door.

The woman, who has a mezuzah – a Jewish house blessing – outside her flat, said that the incident was a ‘huge shock’ and left her ‘scared’.

‘I speak Hebrew, talk on the phone in Hebrew, and wear a Star of David… I really thought about whether I should stay at home,’ the woman told Bild.

Police said they are now investigating ‘whether the other houses have a Jewish resident and whether the incidents are connected.’

The incidents amount to a crime under German law, and seem to be an imitation of the persecution of Jews during the 1930s.

During the Holocaust, Nazi Brownshirts painted the Star of David in white on the doors of Jewish businesses to discourage non-Jewish Germans from going into them.

It comes as a German intelligence chief claimed that ‘some Palestinians are openly and blatantly calling for a kind of Kristallnacht 2.0,’ in reference to the Nazis’ violent coordinated attacks on Jewish homes and businesses in 1938….

Pro-Palestinian school board member opposes honoring Hamas attack victims: ‘Ignores the root of the violence

A pro-Palestinian Fairfax County school board member scolded fellow board members Thursday for giving a statement and holding a moment of silence for the victims of Hamas’ recent deadly attack against Israel.

During the meeting, Abrar Omeish rebuked the board for their “sneak attack” of inserting a moment of silence for victims of Saturday’s surprise terrorist attack and Israel’s ensuing war against Hamas into the meeting’s agenda….

Airing her grievances with how the memorial was conducted, she said, “I wasn’t expecting what seemed to be a sneak attack after we had discussed making sure we represent all children in the ways that we speak and when we speak. So it’s disappointing that my colleagues would do that behind my back after conversations that I had with them in saying that the statement represents everybody’s views.”…

“Many are thinking about the incredible devastation and human suffering unfolding today in Israel and Palestine. And we mourn the loss of hundreds of innocent civilians killed and homes destroyed this week alone and the thousands over the decades,” Omeish said.

Omeish continued by declaring that seeing Israel’s retaliation against an aggressor as a black and white issue is insufficient, stating, “It might seem simple – aggressors attacking families in a state seeking vengeance – but we often sympathize with and humanize the side that we relate to and the side that looks more like us, or that our biases guide us towards.”

“But doing so ignores the root of the violence,” she said. Appearing to lessen the moral culpability of Hamas in its terrorism on Saturday, Omeish added, “Centuries of human history teach us that escalations happen when problems are ignored, realities are denied, and voices are censored. When one narrative dominates from the world stage all the way to our classrooms.”

She then uttered the social justice quote, “No justice, no peace,” and slammed Israel for building an apartheid state and murdering Palestinians….
