The Amazing Arrogance of the Paris Climate Agreement by Jeffrey A. Tucker

It was December 12, 2015, when headlines in the world’s leading newspapers, in implausibly bold type, celebrated the “historic” agreement in Paris between all nations of the world to curb carbon emissions and thereby stop climate change: or so they said, as if elites get to say what is and is not historic.

The spin, like the agreement itself, was crammed down our throats.

I read the stories that day, and the next and the next, and the continuing coverage for weeks that nearly every reader – apart from a few dedicated activists and permanent regime bureaucrats – ignored. The stories appeared on the international pages and didn’t touch the business pages. Energy stocks weren’t affected in the slightest. The stories had all the signs of dutiful public service announcements – “fake news,” as they say today – and they contained not a single quote from a single dissenting voice, because, of course, no respectable news outlet would give voice to “climate deniers.”

Deniers?

Let me pause to protest this “denial” language. It attempts to appropriate the widely shared disgust toward “Holocaust denial,” a bizarre and bedraggled movement that belittles or even dismisses the actual history of one of the 20th century’s most egregious mass crimes against human rights and dignity. Using that language to silence questions about an attempt to centrally plan the energy sector is a moral low that debases the language of denial.

This rhetorical trick reveals all you need to know about the desperate manipulation the climate planners are willing to engage in to realize their plot regardless of popular and justified skepticism concerning their regulatory and redistributionist policies.

And what are the specifics of that agenda? The Paris Agreement is a “voluntary” agreement because its architects knew it would never pass the US Senate as a treaty. Why? Because the idea of the agreement is that the US government’s regulatory agencies would impose extreme mandates on its energy sector: how it should work, what kinds of emissions it should produce, the best ways to power our lives (read: not fossil fuels), and hand over to developing world regimes billions and even trillions of dollars in aid, a direct and ongoing forcible transfer of wealth from American taxpayers to regimes all over the world, at the expense of American freedom and prosperity.

And you wonder why many people have doubts about it.

The Trumpist Reaction

Consider what else was going on December 12, 2015. Donald Trump was in the midst of a big battle for the Republican nomination. He started with 16 challengers to beat. He was widely considered to be a clownish candidate, a guy in it just to get press attention to build his business brand. Surely the American system of electoral politics, largely but imperfectly managed by responsible elites, would resist such demagogues. Besides, the media that trumpeted the Paris Agreement would be on hand to shame anyone who supported him. He couldn’t win.

The press mostly pretended that he wasn’t happening. The Huffington Post put coverage of his campaign in the humor section.

And so President Obama came home from the Paris meetings to the acclaim of all the right people. He alone had made the responsible choice on behalf of the entire country: every business, every worker, every consumer, every single person living within these borders who uses some measure of this thing we call energy. He would be our master and commander, ruling on our behalf, fresh off cocktail parties in Paris where the best and brightest – armed with briefcases full of government-funded science – decided to give the Industrial Revolution its final comeuppance. The exuberant spokespeople talked about how “the United States” had “agreed” to “curb its emissions” and “fund” the building of fossil-free sectors all over the world. It was strange because the “United States” had not in fact agreed to anything: not a single voter, worker, owner, or citizen. Not even the House or Senate were involved. This was entirely an elite undertaking to manage property they did not own and lives that were not theirs to control.

The Backlash

And then Trump spoke. He said that this Paris bit was a bad deal for Americans. We are already in a slow-growth economy. Now these global elites, without a vote from Congress, are presuming to mandate massive controls over the economy, hampering its productive sector which benefits everyone and transferring countless billions of dollars out of the country, with the acquiescence of the party in power.

He spoke about this in a way that bested all his opponents. The entire scenario fed his America First worldview, that the global elites were operating as parasites on American prosperity and sovereignty. His answer was to put up the wall: to immigrants, to trade, to global managerial elites, and reclaim American sovereignty from people who were selling it out. It was another flavor of statism (globalism and nativism are two sides of the same coin), but it tapped into that populist vein of the voting public that looks for a patriotic strongman to save them from a distant ruling class.Everything about the Paris Agreement seemed structured to play into Trump’s narrative of how the world had gone mad. And then he won the nomination. Then he won the presidency. None of this was supposed to happen. It wasn’t part of the plan. History took a different course from what the power elite demanded and expected to happen. Not for the first time.

How Dare Anyone Dispute Our Plans?

But the “globalists” of the type that tried to make Paris work have a stunning lack of self-awareness. They pretend to be oblivious to the populist resentment they breed. They act as if there is not a single legitimate doubt about the problem, their analysis of cause and effect, the discernment of their selected experts, or their proposed coercive solution. And there certainly isn’t a doubt that their mighty combination of power, resources, and intelligence can cause all the forces in the universe to adapt to their will, including even the climate that King Canute himself said could not be controlled by kings and princes.

As with countless other statist plans over the last hundred years, they figured that it was enough to gather all the right people in one room, agree to a wish list, sign a few documents, and then watch the course of history conform to their wishes. The Paris Agreement is no different in its epistemological conceit than Obamacare, the war on drugs, nation-building, universal schooling, or socialism itself. They are all attempts to subvert the capacity of society to manage itself on behalf of the deluded dreams of a few people with power and their lust for controlling social and economic outcomes.

Rejecting Elite Politics

How far are the Democrats from recognizing what they have done? Very, very far. John C. Williams, writing in the New York Times, has decried the “The Dumb Politics of Elite Condescension”:

“As a progressive, I am committed to social equality – not just for some groups, but for all groups… Everyone should have access to good housing and good jobs. That’s the point… Too often in otherwise polite society, elites (progressives emphatically included) unselfconsciously belittle working-class whites. Democrats should stop insulting people.”

That would be a good start. But it is not only about rhetoric. Policy preferences have to change. A global agreement that somehow binds entire countries to centrally plan and regulate the whole of a crucial sector of economic life that supports all economic advances of our time – at the very time when the energy sector is innovating its own solutions to carbon emissions in the cheapest possible way –  is certainly going to breed resentment, and for good reason. It is a bad and unworkable idea.

Continued reliance on undemocratic, uneconomic, imposed strategies such as the Paris Agreement will only further feed the populist revolt that could end in the worst possible policy combinations of strong-man nationalism, nativism, protectionism, closed borders, and backwards thinking in general. No good can come from this. The backlash against globalism can be as dangerous as globalism itself. You might think that the election of Trump would offer some lessons. But that is not the way the arrogant minds behind the climate agreement work. They respond by merely doubling down on disdain, intensifying their commitments to each other, heaping more loathing on the workers and peasants who have their doubts about these deals.

Trump and his ilk abroad, backed by voting masses with pitchforks and torches – and not a managed transition from fossil fuels to clean energy – are their creation.

Watch: Morano on Newsmax TV: UN Paris Accord Is About Wealth Redistribution, Not Climate – Morano on Newsmax TV’s Steve Malzberg show: “The UN has actually admitted the real reason for the treaty. They said this is not even environmental policy anymore, we will redistribute wealth by climate policy. That’s what they want, a $100 billion a year slush fund going to governments that are best able to keep your people locked in poverty. “This is all about social engineering, central planning, redistribution of wealth, and empowering UN bureaucrats.”

Watch Morano on TV: Trump touched on ‘religious belief’ – It’s a ‘theological debate’ on climate -Tipping Point With Liz Wheeler on OAN (One America News Network) Morano: ‘What Trump did today was a blow to superstition. No longer in Washington DC do we have to pretend that a UN climate treaty can save the planet or actually control temperature or impact storminess. This truly is a day that science has won out in DC and that is a rare day when it comes to climate change.’

Climate Depot’s Marc Morano statement:

“A U.S. Clexit (Climate Exit from UN Paris Pact) is a victory for science. President Trump today, in one swoop, made perhaps the most consequential decision of his presidency both in domestic and international policy by announcing a Clexit of the U.S. from the UN Paris agreement. One of Trump’s core political principles has been an America first policy and knowing the art of a deal. Trump realized that the UN Paris climate pact would not serve the interests of U.S. foreign policy or domestic energy policy. The near total dismantling of former President Obama’s “climate legacy” is now almost complete. Bravo!  President Trump understands that the UN has no interest in climate. The UN’s real goal is “global governance” and “wealth redistribution.” Flashback: UN IPCC Official Edenhofer: ‘We Redistribute World’s Wealth By Climate Policy’

Climate Depot’s Morano predicted Trump’s actions today back in November 2016 while attending the UN climate summit in Morocco. Morano was ejected from the summit for shredding the UN Paris agreement. See: UN Armed Security Shuts Down Skeptics After SHREDDING UN Climate Treaty at Summit Next To Trump Cut-out – November 16, 2016

A UN climate agreement is totally meaningless when it comes to the climate. University of Pennsylvania Geologist Dr. Robert Giegengack  has noted: “None of the strategies that have been offered by the U.S. government or by the EPA or by anybody else has the remotest chance of altering climate if in fact climate is controlled by carbon dioxide.”

Climate Depot Marc Morano adds: In layman’s terms: All of the so-called ‘solutions’ to global warming are purely symbolic when it comes to climate. So, even if we actually faced a climate catastrophe and we had to rely on a UN climate agreement, we would all be doomed!  Make no mistake, climate campaigners who tout UN agreements and EPA regulations as a way to control Earth’s temperature and storminess are guilty of belief in superstition. Today, America rejects superstition and the belief that government regulations and UN agreements can control the climate.

NASA’s former lead global warming scientist Dr. James Hansen is also not a big fan of the UN Paris accord. See: ‘Fraud, Fake…Worthless Words’: NASA’s James Hansen on UN Paris Pact – Trump should take note – “[The Paris agreement] is a fraud really, a fake. It’s just bullshit for them to say: ‘We’ll have a 2C warming target and then try to do a little better every five years.’ It’s just worthless words. There is no action, just promises. As long as fossil fuels appear to be the cheapest fuels out there, they will be continued to be burned.”
Climate experts who have looked at the UN climate agreement think Trump is correct to dismantle it. Danish statistician Bjorn Lomborg wrote “Trump’s climate plan might not be so bad after all.” Lomborg added that Trump withdrawing from the UN treaty “will will stop the pursuit of an expensive dead end” because even if you accept the climate claims of the UN, the agreement “will matter very little to temperature rise.” (Also see: Bjorn Lomborg: ‘Germany Spends $110 Billion to Delay Global Warming by 37 Hours’)

Statistician: UN climate treaty will cost $100 trillion – To Have No Impact – Postpone warming by less than four years by 2100Lomborg: “If the U.S. delivers for the whole century on the President Obama’s very ambitious rhetoric, it would postpone global warming by about eight months at the end of the century.”Danish statistician Dr. Bjorn Lomborg, the President of the Copenhagen Consensus Center: “We will spend at least one hundred trillion dollars in order to reduce the temperature by the end of the century by a grand total of three tenths of one degree…the equivalent of postponing warming by less than four years…Again, that is using the UN’s own climate prediction model.” “But here is the biggest problem: These minuscule benefits do not come free — quite the contrary. The cost of the UN Paris climate pact is likely to run 1 to 2 trillion dollars every year.”Lomborg Blasts UN Paris Treaty’s $100 Trillion Price Tag For No Temp Impact: ‘You won’t be able to measure it in 100 years’ – Bjorn Lomborg: The debate about the UN Paris Agreement is “about identity politics. It’s about feeling good… but the climate doesn’t care about how you feel.”

Canada to expedite asylum claims from Yemen and Egypt

That is what Refugees Deeply is reporting here.  (To learn more about the pro-more-refugees site, go here.)

Trudeau and Trump earlier this year.

Obama junior (Justin Trudeau) is ‘welcoming’ the Muslim world to Canada while President Donald Trump has appealed the so-called travel ban case to the Supreme Court.

One of the countries whose citizens Trump would at least temporarily ban (as Trudeau welcomes them!) is Yemen.

Canada to Expedite Entry of Refugees From Yemen and Egypt

Canada has added war-torn Yemen and repressive Egypt to its fast-track asylum list. The inclusion of the two countries will mean swifter decisions on refugee status for nationals of those countries.

Egyptians and Yemenis seeking asylum will still have to secure a tourist or other visa to reach Canada and apply. It will mean a smaller hearing and quicker decision once they make it there.

Petra Molnar, a migration researcher, told the Middle East Eye that the expedited country list aims to recognize that conditions in certain countries may “require a faster processing.”

Canada’s existing expedited list includes Syria, Iraq and Eritrea, with Burundi and Afghanistan also expected to be added this month. [Yikes!–ed]

A claimant from one of the designated countries still has to prove his or her need for protection.

Yemen is in a state of civil war that has created one of the world’s worst humanitarian disasters, with 19 million of its 28 million people in need of aid. Egypt under the government of Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has locked up hundreds of thousands of people in a crackdown on all forms of opposition.

Readers, most of those al-Sisi is trying to control are the Muslim Brotherhood agitators.  The ‘Brothers’ are banned in Egypt.  At one point Donald Trump talked tough about banning them here as well.

VIDEO: President Trump withdraws from the Paris Accord — Let the Hysteria Begin!

President Trump has kept another campaign promise. On June 1st, 2017 he formally announced that the United States is withdrawing from the Paris Agreement stating, “I was elected to represent Pittsburgh, not Paris!”

In their column 4 Reasons Trump Was Right to Pull Out of the Paris Agreement Nicolas Loris  and Katie Tubb write:

President Donald Trump has fulfilled a key campaign pledge, announcing that the U.S. will withdraw from the Paris climate agreement.

The Paris Agreement, which committed the U.S. to drastically reducing greenhouse gas emissions, was a truly bad deal—bad for American taxpayers, American energy companies, and every single American who depends on affordable, reliable energy.

It was also bad for the countries that remain in the agreement. Here are four reasons Trump was right to withdraw.

1. The Paris Agreement was costly and ineffective.

2. The agreement wasted taxpayer money.

3. Withdrawal is a demonstration of leadership.

4. Withdrawal is good for American energy competitiveness.

PowerLine’s  Steven Hayward reporting on the President’s decision wrote:

I know what you’re thinking. How can the climatistas be any more hysterical than they already are? Is it even possible to turn it up past 11? In any case, here are a few early returns, which I’ll update as the day unfolds. (That was a great speech, by the way: “I was elected to represent Pittsburgh, not Paris.”) Hear, hear! The Unkindest Cut

Perhaps there are no longer many who know the name Martin Niemoeller, a Protestant pastor, most famous for his poem, as follows:

“First they came for the Communists, but I was not a Communist so I did not speak out.

Then they came for the Socialists and the Trade Unionists, but I was neither, so I did not speak out.

Then they came for the Jews, but I was not a Jew so I did not speak out.

And when they came for me, there was no one left to speak out for me.”

Neimoeller, an anti-communist, supported the Nazis until the churches were placed under Nazi control. He then founded the Pastors’ Emergency League, on September 11, 1933, to unite German evangelical theologians, pastors and church office-holders against Aryanism. He was tried and imprisoned for seven months, followed by seven years in concentration camps. Freed after the war, he became president of the Protestant church in Hesse and Nassau (1947- 1964), and president of the World Council of Churches in the 1960s, against which he would speak out now, given the opportunity.

The World Council of Churches, founded in 1948 and headquartered in Geneva, and its 350 mostly Protestant and Orthodox churches and some evangelical membership, overtly expressed concern for the safety of the Jewish people, but clandestinely began promoting a lethal anti-Israel agenda aimed at delegitimizing Israel in the Middle East conflict. Instead of worrying about Israelis’ being blown up by homicidal bombers during the Second Intifada (2000-2005), the group justified the Palestinian violence and vilified Israel’s self-defense. They established the Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel (EAPPI) and the Palestine Israel Ecumenical Forum (PIEF) to end Israel’s “occupation,” aware that this action would eventually deprive the Jewish people of their own homeland.

With their hostility clearly focused on Israel, the Council sends activists to the West Bank to confront Israeli soldiers and settlers, while also repudiating the Arab aggression toward Israel and the Jews. So, they denounce anti-Semitism for public consumption, but individual members nevertheless continue their demonizing rhetoric against Israel.  And there is more (there always is): They avoid denouncing Muslim anti-Semitism and Muslim assassinations of Christians.

Interestingly, when the Provisional Committee prepared to create the WCC in Amsterdam, in 1948, they guaranteed full Church rights to Christians of Jewish descent, and expressed remorse to the Jewish survivors of the Holocaust along with gratitude to the Christians who had sheltered them. In fact, they even acknowledged that the Church had contributed to anti-Semitism – but they would consider Israel’s sovereignty. Not only did the WCC not support the creation of a Jewish state, but they attempted to delegitimize the entire concept.  They determined it best to not offend the Muslims who sought a second Holocaust. Recognizing the rights of Jewish converts to Christianity was an easy decision, but the rights of Jews to live in their own country remained problematical.

The PLO’s terror attacks in the early 1970s, as well as the Lod Airport massacre that left 26 dead and scores injured, and other Palestinian kidnappings and murders of Israelis, were also met with the Council’s benign condemnation, as though the Palestinians were striving for “human rights,” and not the annihilation of the entire state of Israel. Hijackings, once called “reckless acts of anarchy that disregard human rights” were now excused as “something not so bad because nobody got killed.”

The massacre of the Israeli Olympic team by the PLO in September 1972 was termed “senseless terrorism.” Rather than condemn the Palestinians’ heinous acts and demand the criminals be prosecuted, the WCC general secretary expressed consternation at the “senseless (!)” deaths of the Israelis, their abductors and the German officials – as though the “sacrificed lives” were not only equal but could have made sense given different circumstances. The suggestion is grotesque. He condemned Israel not to respond with reprisals, which thereafter became their modus operandi.

Contrary to its title, the UN World Conference Against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance held in Durban, South Africa, in 2001, became a dedication to hate against Israel. Although the WCC claimed to disapprove of some of the statements, it nevertheless supported the document.

In 2004, they eulogized Arafat upon his death as a leader who recognized true justice, peace and security for Palestinians and Israelis. The WCC disregarded his massacres of Jews and Christians, the terrorism despite the Oslo Accords, and the billions of dollars in aid that was never used to improve Palestinian lives.

In February 2005, the WCC joined the American Protestant churches in the Presbyterian Church’s (USA) divestment campaign against Israel, blaming Israel’s occupation for the violence, not Palestinian aggression or the companies that profit from that aggression. The group also directed their blame against Israel for boarding the Mavi Marmara flotilla that was carrying jihadists and armaments to Gaza in June 2016, despite videos that showed the passengers to be the violent aggressors.

The WCC was quick to condemn Israel’s invasion into Lebanon in 1984, but protected the identity of the earlier massacres by the PLO and Christian Phalangists in the 1970s and 1980s, and the PLO’s massacres in Lebanon (1982). They also maintained their silence about the Palestinians’ horrific atrocities and executions of the Maronites (Roman Catholics) in January 1976.

The World Council of Churches no longer stands for democracy and Christianity – if it ever did without Niemoeller. In a world that has grown more dangerous, with fanatical terrorists and unstoppable migrants overcoming countries from which the indigenous populations are fleeing,  the WCC has declared its affinity for the enemy, those who threaten to establish a caliphate at Buckingham Palace, at the White House, and throughout Europe and Asia.  Statements issued by the Central Community of the WCC in response to brutal attacks against Christians refrain from naming the Islamic attackers.  Rather, they criticize Israel and silence those who dare defame Islam.

It is no surprise for Israel to be vilified by the followers of Islam, because Islam, like Nazism, is the antithesis of Judaism and they could never co-exist.  But when the Council of churches joins the accusers, it is the unkindest cut of all. Such action is foolhardy and self-defeating as the integrity of the Church’s theology requires the existence of Israel and the Jews, but the reverse is not true.  If it were possible to remove Judaism, Christianity would suffer the same fate thereafter.  Islam’s declared purpose is global conquest.  Pastor Niemoeller’s words ring as true today.

Like the tail-devouring Ouroboros, the WCC has turned on itself, and should no longer be able to rely on our citizens’ taxes and generosity to support the Palestinian Authority and the armed jihadists who seek Jewish and Christian destruction.  Isaiah 5:20: Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil.

Leftists Want Their Enemies Dead

Should neo-Nazis be allowed to use gym facilities?

It’s an odd question, but it has larger implications for the future of conservatives in the public square, and for America’s prospects of staving off a new civil war.

The question about neo-Nazis and the gym came up recently when Georgetown University professor Christine Fair happened upon neo-Nazi Richard Spencer, who is not me, at a gym and began berating him. The gym then revoked Richard Spencer’s membership.

I have no regard for Richard Spencer, as often as I am confused with him: he has more than once demanded that I reveal my “real” name, as he is convinced that I am secretly a Jew who has changed my name to fool good white folks like him. He has become notorious for openly espousing a white nationalism that most people would have rather remained a relic of history.

But does that mean he can’t even use gym facilities that he paid for, and in which he wasn’t bothering anyone?

I have nothing but disgust for Richard Spencer, but I have even greater disgust for Christine Fair, who in this incident showed herself to be more of a Nazi than Richard Spencer could ever hope to be.

Like the Nazis, Christine Fair wants those whom she hates destroyed, full stop. Just destroyed. She doesn’t want them to be able to speak in public. She doesn’t want them to be able to hold memberships in gyms. She doesn’t want them to be allowed to live in the city she lives in. She told Richard, among other things: “I find your presence in this gym to be unacceptable, your presence in this town to be unacceptable”.

Is there anything that Christine Fair thinks Richard Spencer ought to be allowed to do? Does she find his breathing unacceptable?

Fair’s berating of Richard Spencer, and getting him kicked out of his gym, was quintessentially Nazi behavior, and was in direct contradiction to the principles that make a society free.

While Richard Spencer is indeed a Nazi, albeit in a different way from how Fair is one, there is no excuse for what she did. As long as he was not breaking any laws, he had as much right to be in that gym as Christine Fair has.

Christine Fair has apparently not reflected upon the precedent she is setting, or on the possibility, as remote as it is, that one day her views could be out of favor, and she could find herself getting poisoned, and prevented from speaking by riots, and screamed at by campus fascists, and driven out of gyms, and the like, and that a healthier and freer society allows for the freedom of expression and doesn’t persecute or hound those whose ideas are unpopular or even unarguably obnoxious.

Instead, she believes we need ideological purity tests even for gym memberships. Once the precedent is set that one must hold a certain set of beliefs and shun others in order to be able to work out at the gym, the required beliefs could shift, and any individual or group could be victimized.

This is the road to totalitarianism, and we’re racing down it.

Another example of the Left’s determination to destroy utterly everyone who opposes it is the recent experience of Terry Jones, the infamous Qur’an-burning pastor. I am not a supporter of Terry Jones; I oppose burning books. I believe in free speech and free discourse. The thuggish, authoritarian Left shuts down opposing views and censors those whom it hates. Burning books is the kind of thing they do, if not literally, then by shutting down, smearing, and defaming those whom they hate. I am not inclined to emulate them.

All that said, however, Terry Jones lives in a nation that has the First Amendment in its Constitution. It is not illegal for him to dislike Islam or to burn Qur’ans. But in early February, the Washington Post wrote a gleeful story about how Jones had been working as an Uber driver, but had been fired by Uber after the Post reporter, a Muslim named Faiz Siddiqui, called Uber and alerted them to who Jones was.

So now your Uber driver has to love Islam. If he doesn’t appreciate Islam sufficiently, he could be fired.

What does loving Islam have to do with driving for Uber? About as much as being a neo-Nazi has to do with holding a gym membership. Is it acceptable for your plumber to take a dim view of Buddhism?

The Left is becoming so totalitarian, so inhospitable to the slightest dissent, that even when a critic of Islam is doing something that has nothing to do with Islam, Leftists move to shut him down. Jones had to close down a french fry stand he was running in a Florida mall, and he can’t drive for Uber. What can he do? The Left just wants him dead — that’s all.

Similarly, when I was scheduled to speak several years ago at an education conference that had nothing to do with Islam, Christine Fair’s colleague Nathan Lean of Georgetown University (who has several times posted a link on Twitter to what he thinks is my home address, in an obvious attempt to get me killed by jihadis and/or frighten me into silence) successfully got the host, a Catholic bishop, to cancel the event because of my work on Islam, even though Islam had nothing to do with what I was set to discuss. (The event was held at another location, and I spoke as planned.)…

… and the KGB in the White House

Those words of the title are not mine, they belong to my friend Vlad, a KGB man, in a warning to me a year before my emigration to the U.S. In America, it was the time of Carter’s administration and my friend Vlad, the KGB man, gave me a menacing picture of America’s future in our conversation, while walking along a Leningrad street in 1979:

“Please remember, America is in turmoil. It’s losing its moral compass. I’ve already told you that it is under the constant assault of Soviet Intelligence, which has infiltrated every facet of American society—the government, the arts, the unions, organized crime even played a role in the demise of the Nixon presidency. If these events progress in the same direction in ten years from now, the American treasury will be empty, like ours, the city streets full of crime, and the KGB in the White House.” He said it in one forceful breath…

At the time, listening to him, I felt threatened and intimidated, but nevertheless, I emigrated a year after that meeting with the man. Because the agenda, the objectives, and motivation of the Soviet Intelligence were clear to me: destruction of America and Western civilization by all means possible. You can read the entire conversation in the Chapter 17: Beyond Three Dimensions: Soviet Fascism, p.286, Baltic Winds: Testimony of a Soviet Attorney, Xlibris, 2002.

It was then in the winter of 1979 when I also heard for the first time these two words put together: Soviet Fascism. Intimidated, tormented and threatened by those two words, I wanted to cast them from my memory forever. Forty years have passed by since then, and I am a different person now, an American citizen who dearly loves my adopted country. Beside my personal experiences, I learned a great deal of information about America and my mission is absolutely clear to me—defend America by writing about Soviet Fascism and identifying the evil ideology to educate all Americans. I have done it in all my books and columns during last decades.

I gave you that conversation with Vlad, the KGB man for a reason, because I see my America again in turmoil and losing its moral compass forty years later. Yet, the objectives, motivation, and agenda of Russian Intelligence remains the same.

Moreover, the predictions of the KGB man are coming true on all accounts as stated forty years ago: our treasury is almost empty, our streets are full of crime and the KGB in the White House. I am referring to Barack Obama’s presidency and drastic changes in the Democrat Party and American culture during the last forty years…

The first two points are obvious, the third one I have been writing about for the last thirty years—Soviet/Russian infiltration into all strata of our society. Just go to my book What is Happening to America? The Hidden Truth of Global Destruction, Xlibris, 2012. The Chapter 7, WW III: Recruitments and Drugs, Infiltration and Assassinations is directly listing the methods, tools, devises, and tricks used by the Russian Intelligence to destroy America from within. American national security has always been my major concern.

The Deep State of the KGB on American Soil

Today, in June 2017, forty years later, my great concern is still our national security. I’m watching how the Democrats are waging a total war against Trump’s administration and against the President himself. It is a real witch hunt. Yet, I am not surprised; for forty years the Democrats were soft on the Soviets, while our Academia had not educated Americans and the leadership of our Intelligence in the agenda of Socialism/Communism, and the coming danger. Today it is not the poverty that created terrorism, it is a Socialist/Communist ideology that infiltrated and uses Islam to fight Western civilization —the result you are witnessing yourself.

The campaign to orchestrate a Trump/Russia collusion is a carefully crafted fraud to cover up the real collaboration with the enemy by Obama’s clan. I am appalled by the mute, deaf, and toothless Republicans betraying our Republican President. They are ill-informed, incompetent, and missing the golden opportunity to confront the Democrat Party, the enemy within. Fortunately, some decent and knowledgeable Republican leaders are quite vocal, disturbed by this fraud.

Urgent Message from Michael Reagan

Dear Friend:

I am watching the cable news channels and I am just stunned.

This is a brazen attempt to oust Donald Trump as president.

This is nothing short of a coup attempt against the duly elected president.

David Horowitz predicted all of this in his bestseller “Big Agenda: President Trump’s Plan to Save America.”

Rush Limbaugh agrees with author David Horowitz – and says insiders want to stop President Trump and have even launched a “silent coup” against him!

Here is what Rush said: “I think it has a purposeful, studied effort and outcome, which is a coup. We are watching a silent coup here to oust a duly elected president, and this coup is being mounted by career government people who can traffic anonymously and who are protected by people in the media and within the Democrat Party.”

Both Michael Reagan and Rush Limbaugh are right in blaming the Democrats, yet, due to my personal experiences, I can add some other information. For the last eight years I have been writing about the Obama/Putin joint venture, especially highlighting the time of election 2016 described in my latest book Socialist Lies: From Stalin to the Clintons, Obamas, and Sanders, Xlibris, 2016. The book chronicles the KGB modus operandi (the knowledge needed today), when Obama’s shadow government is not alone conducting the war against President Trump. Obama/Putin joint venture has developed a unified enclave of un-American activities by the Democrat leadership, Clinton’s media-mafia and the KGB. The recent example of Soviet fascism on American soil you saw in the hand of comedian Kathy Griffin, it was a bloody head of our Republican President…  This is Radical-Fascist Left in action!

The targets are the Trump administration and its plans and agenda to >Make America Great Again. Some called this enclave The Deep State. Whatever the name of the enclave, it has adhered to the ideology of Soviet fascism and already created a constant stew of suspicions to divert attention from the real crime and real criminals. Obama/Putin joint venture or The Deep State will not tolerate building America Great Again. Hence, we can expect a long continuation of fraudulent activities, provocations, fake news, and disinformation in the best traditions of the Stalinist KGB. The best lawyer in the country Alan Dershowitz is right: “We can’t judge a person without evidence, like Stalin did.” Socialist Maxine Waters doesn’t understand that.

Stay tuned…

You will be surprised by the role Director Comey was playing in the above mentioned enclave. I would recommend you to find and read a most interesting and fairly accurate post about him by Lisa Frank, STATE OF THE NATION, May 18th. She is unwrapping James Comey from the aura of being an honest and highly professional man: “COMEY IS THE CENTRAL FIGURE IN THE SCHEME TO TAKE DOWN TRUMP.” You will also be surprised by the abuses of personal liberty, privacy, and spying on Americans by Obama’s scheme involving people from DOJ in cahoots with some members of the American Intelligence.

Yet, there is nothing wrong with the American system, Mr.Mark Zuckerberg! You should read my books and learn the evil nature of the ideology your Socialist professors didn’t teach you, and you are not the only one inculcated with Socialist propaganda and made up narratives. Unfortunately, two/thirds of Millennials do not know the true Socialism, they are defrauded by Political Correctness and can’t recognize the evil ideology. It is unthinkable in the country of the First Amendment to see how the students are rioting and fighting free speech on campuses and universities. You can see now how our culture transformed enormously for the last forty years. Do you know why? Just recall the agents of influence established by the Soviets in 1955.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Davin Nunes, to a certain degree, confirms my ideas. He said: “Democrats don’t want an investigation into Russia… Because they want to continue the narrative that Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump are best friends…” The Washington Examiner, May 30, 2017. Davin Nunes is right. We are witnessing a typical KGB policy of Disinformation, executed by the Democrat Party to cover up the crimes committed. It is a fishing expedition by the Democrats to accuse Trump’s team and divert attention from the DNC leadership and the crimes committed by them …

The Betrayal of American Interests

If you haven’t read my books and don’t know historical events that were handed to us by the Democrats, let me give you a few examples for your judgment. Obama wasn’t the first, who collaborated with Soviet/Russian Intelligence, Bill Clinton was the first one.  I didn’t like Bill Clinton since I have seen him among a group of the Russian youngsters, organized by the KGB. Then, I found out that Clinton lived in the family of the KGB’s members in Moscow in 1970s. All of that gave me a real picture of the man. Later it was the election, where a suspicious threat to Ross Perrot made Bill Clinton the U.S. President in 1992. His connection with Russia has always alarmed me. His presidency just doubled my dislike to him, as an enormous harm had been done to America. I have dedicated pages in my books to the activities of the Clinton mafia…

Bill Clinton paved the way for a Nuclear North Korea in 1994. “Democratic president’s 1994 deal making with Pyongyang started a process that led to ICBM capabilities.” Today, in June 2017 we are threatened by that militant regime, created by Stalin in 1948. North Korea has been Russia’s marionette since then. The Trump administration is timely voicing alarm bells as North Korea inches closer to having a nuclear missile capable of reaching Hawaii or the West Coast of the United States.

“The North Korean deal of 1994 is the prototype for why open societies should not negotiate arms control agreements with rogue regimes.” Jim Stinson, updated March 2017. Reading the piece, you will find all the details of Clinton’s deal making with the Stalinist regime. One foreign-policy expert said he traces North Korea’s current saber-rattling to a nuclear deal made two decades ago by President Bill Clinton. And reading my books, we will find me talking about the Russian connection for the last twenty-five years.

There is another event that deserves attention and deep thinking about the Clinton Mafia. Do you remember Monica’s “blue dress?” I have found an interesting chronology connected to the “blue dress” in 1998. The FBI asked for Clinton’s blood sample to compare it with the sperm’s stain on the “blue dress,” three days later the terrorists committed two tragic blasts of American Embassies in Africa. Don’t tell me about the coincidences in life. It was the “work” of the Russian connection to divert attention from Clinton and “the blue dress.”

Pay attention to the Russian behavior in the management of diverting attention from the criminals connected to them. I gave you a lot of similar examples in Socialist Lies. Today we have a witch hunt of President Trump to connect him to Russia and to divert attention from the Obama administration and the Democrat Party… Let me give you another example of betraying the American interests and aiding the enemy. In the above mentioned book, Socialist Lies, I analyzed many events when Obama betrayed American interests to benefit Russia. Here is an interesting knot of events to confirm that.

I believe there was a connection between NATO’s actions in Libya and the presidential election in France in 2012. Do you remember a scandal of Dominique Strauss-Khan in the New York Hotel? It was during the time of a presidential election in France and Dominique Strauss Khan was ahead of President Sarkozy. Reading my books, you know that Russia wanted to monopolize the sources of oil in the world. You also know my opinion that all terrorist groups run by Russia are united by the ideology of Soviet Fascism.

Putin used the situation in Libya to continue destabilization of the region in 2012. To convince Obama was not difficult for Putin. In my interpretation of the events, Putin offered Sarkozy to eliminate Strauss Khan for a certain favors from Sarkozy, the latter agreed and Libya’s fate was decided. NATO got trapped in a middle of civil war in Libya. Putin wanted Libya’s oil and destabilization of North Africa. Organized crime was activated and Dominique Strauss Khan has disappeared from a political arena of France. Do you remember the Soviet document dated 1955? Organized crime was and is an integral part of Soviet Fascism. Today ISIS is running Libya’s oil or destroying the facilities to raise the price of oil on the market. Russia succeeds again and ISIS now infiltrated thirty-two countries… Does anybody in our Intelligence know this story?

I have to remind you another story, a list of military collaborations between the U.S. and Russia executed under the Obama/Putin joint venture:

  1. Killing of bin-Laden
  2. Invasion of Libya, conspiracy of Obama, Putin, and French Pres. Sarkozy.
  3. Benghazi, murder of the U.S. ambassador Stevens.
  4. “On 6 August 2011, a U.S. Boeing CH-47 Chinook military helicopter was shot down while transporting a quick reaction force attempting to reinforce an engaged unit of Army Rangers in Wardak province, west of Kabul, Afghanistan. The resulting crash killed all 38 people on board—25 American specialists … Fifteen of the Navy SEALs that were killed were members of the Naval… “

If thoroughly investigated, the listed events will open up a huge panorama of activities of the DNC leadership directed against the American Republic. Maybe our Intel is blocking information about my books and columns, because I am constantly writing about the Russian Connection? Maybe because it is the leadership of the Democrat Party that has the real treasonous connection with Russia. President Trump has not. There is no Trump’s Russia Tangle. My books and latest columns are analyzing the situation in this respect and will help a new appointed Special Counsel Robert Mueller to investigate the real Russian connection…

O’Reilly is right: “Allegations are not facts. Nobody’s searching for the truth anymore.”

I would also recommend to read my books to Jared Kushner, if he wants to serve the country. Contemporary Russia is our deadly enemy and a real awareness of it is imperative.

Observing a Memorial Day in the end of May, 2017, we paid respect to the memory of our soldiers, who sacrificed their lives for our freedom—a very touching event for many Americans. Widows and children of the Korean War and Vietnam are alive and were morning their spouses, fathers, brothers and sisters. I’d like to remind you that all recent wars had been instigated by the ideology of Soviet Fascism. Stalin started it in 1950 and all consequent wars, including the Middle East is a continuation of his policy and hostility to Western civilization. Special counsel Robert Mueller, investigating the Russian collusion, should be aware of that.

The Illusion of Marijuana As Medicine

Since speaking of the fantastical nature of medical marijuana, I have been bombarded with commentaries and concerns regarding the legal status of the plant in Florida. Sadly, most of the comments have been hateful, demeaning, and designed only to intimidate.

But hidden amongst the hate speech are some communications that honestly raise questions of a medical role for marijuana and report favorable experiences with its use.

So here’s the bottom line: As a physician, I completely acknowledge the pain and suffering of those afflicted with chronic and debilitating diseases and of the sometimes tragic shortcomings of our pharmacopeia, but the data supporting marijuana as a bona fide medicinal tool is simply lacking… and may always be.

Any honest discussion regarding medical marijuana must begin with the full acknowledgment of the secondary interests motivating it. Many pro-medical-marijuana advocates eagerly cite alleged conspiratorial efforts by pharmaceuticals to stifle its use, but they fail to acknowledge the millions of dollars pumped into the campaign for its legalization by the growing marijuana industry, and the even greater amounts of money some stand to gain from favorable policy decisions.

So, let’s be honest and admit that there are pecuniary interests on both sides of the issue striving to skew the conversation in their favor.

Asking the tough questions

With this admission in mind, I begin with one simple question: If marijuana is truly a medicine, then what about its pharmacology makes it so different as to allow it to bypass the scrutiny applied to all others medications? What is medically so different about marijuana that states can implement laws with insufficient study for the sole purpose of bypassing the FDA, and constitutional amendments are passed to allow for its use as a medicine?

The answer, of course, is nothing, which adds to the contention that something much bigger than the use of the plant as a medication — perhaps the quest to legalize its recreational use — is the true driver of the medical marijuana debate. If that be the case, then ransacking the nation’s health care system for the mere promotion of a recreational drug is dishonest, reckless, and dangerous.

Then there’s the pesky issue of the science.

First, marijuana is not one substance, but rather a complex of more than 400 biologically active compounds including, terpenoids, flavonoids, and over 70 cannabinoids. The interactions between these substances and their specific benefits are not understood. What’s more, their specific combinations vary between strains of the plant, growth conditions, the manner in which the plant is prepared for consumption, distribution methods, storage times, and storage conditions.

All this may be totally acceptable for a recreational product, but it is the death knell of a prospective medication.

What’s worse, there is very little data supporting the use of marijuana for many of the claimed indications.

What thorough marijuana study reveals

Perhaps the most thorough and objective review on this topic appeared in 2015 in the Journal of the American Medical Association.

Researchers studied 23,754 “hits” on their search engines. They arrived at 79 studies reported in 151 papers from all over the world (encompassing 6,462 participants) that the authors found were of sufficiently low bias and high scientific control to be taken seriously as scientific analyses. The researchers then stratified the collective results of the studies into varying levels of data quality to support a recommendation for the use of marijuana and its derivatives in health care. Neither, the cannabinoids nor marijuana, received a rating of high confidence in the treatment of a single symptom or condition!

Conclusion: the science supporting the use of marijuana or cannabinoids as a medicine is simply not there. In fact, only in the treatment of chronic neuropathic, cancer pain, and spasticity was any data found that rose to a level of moderate scientific quality.

Additionally, when marijuana was used for pain control it did not diminish the demand for opioids, thus eviscerating the contention that by allowing for the use of medical marijuana there would be fewer complications related to opioid use and opioid addiction.

Nausea and vomiting, HIV/AIDs, depression, anxiety disorder, psychosis, sleep disorders, and Tourette syndrome received either low quality support or very low quality support. Studies regarding other conditions such as the actual treatment of cancer, glaucoma, seizure disorders, Crohn’s disease, sickle cell disease, psoriasis, and Parkinson’s disease were so poor that they did not even rise to the level of meriting inclusion in the JAMA study.

Risks lacking known rewards

On the flip side, the risks of treatment with marijuana are not inconsequential.

First, dosing of smoked marijuana remains unpredictable. And although much of the medical marijuana debate centers on the effects of single exposures, insufficient information exists regarding the effects of repeated exposures. Approximately 10% of people routinely using marijuana become addicted, with a higher incidence amongst adolescents. Tolerance and down-regulation of receptors have been documented with repeated marijuana use. A marijuana withdrawal syndrome has also been recognized, as has an association with psychosis.

Despite the lack of scientific evidence to support the use of medical marijuana, the states have run the gamut on the list of scientifically unsupported treatments they will allow. For example, last year, Florida approved a constitutional amendment listing cancer, epilepsy, glaucoma, HIV/AIDs, PTSD, ALS, Crohn’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, MS, any medical condition similar to those listed above, and terminal conditions as ones for which marijuana may be used. And in Connecticut, the use of marijuana for the treatment of sickle cell disease and psoriasis is also allowed.

The endocannabinoid ruse

There are those, particular amongst the more vitriolic advocates, who misguidedly cite the endocannabinoid system as evidence for the benignity of marijuana use, suggesting that we should allow for marijuana’s medicinal use because cannabinoids are already existing inside our bodies. In fact, the existence of such a system should result in further caution against the proliferation of marijuana use.

The human body does produce cannabis-like substances, but they naturally exist in very small quantities, are precisely released, and linger for very brief periods of time. These endocannabinoids affect nerve growth and maturation, and guide intercellular connections during pruning (the process by which nerve cells find and refine their connections).

Exocannabinoids, on the other hand, those that are ingested or inhaled like marijuana, are long lasting, exist in higher quantities, and are relatively indiscriminate in their distribution.

The consequences of taking these substances from an external source are not only unknown, but potentially very disruptive to human development — an even more disturbing consideration since brain development continues until the age of 25 years. Such indiscriminate and physiologically disruptive effects may explain the negative behavioral and emotional changes associated with adolescents who are repeatedly exposed to marijuana.

Study and FDA approval needed

Yes, as a legislator, I am aware that in Florida, 71% of the electorate voted for the medical marijuana constitutional amendment. But such an outcome, promoted by monied interests, does not negate the fact that marijuana is not a medicine.

Like any other physiologically acting collection of substances, marijuana is a potentially dangerous, incompletely understood, and improperly controlled combination of chemicals whose benefits have not been found to sufficiently outweigh its risk.

I continue to call for the FDA and the federal government to devote resources to the study of this plant and its effects. With adequate support for well-controlled, scientific research, there may come a day when sufficient, meritorious information will be available to allow the FDA to provide health care providers with reliable prescribing information and for manufactures to create products known to be beneficial to patients.

But until such time, physicians need to shy away from the indiscriminate, and still illegal, use of marijuana in their patients, and states need to be leery of policies enacted in contradiction to federal law.

As for the advocates, if their goal is to legalize marijuana for recreational use, then let’s have that discussion and not use our nation’s health care system as a ruse for the promotion of marijuana’s greater acceptance as a recreational drug.

In the meantime, and despite the accusations, bully tactics, and vitriol, I will continue to evaluate the medical literature regarding marijuana with a scrupulous eye and a mind open to the strengths of both sides of the argument.

French Legislative Elections: Part 2 and Zionist interlude

Apparently the Right is divided and heading for a big disappointment in the coming legislative elections (1st round June 11, 2nd round June 18th). Determined, a few short weeks ago, to grasp a legislative victory from the jaws of an unfair presidential defeat, les Républicains are reportedly fissured and wobbly. Candidates and voters have wilted like cut flowers under the hot sunshine of Macron’s victory. Even though the party minus François Fillon has toned down the platform, they can’t stop the drift of the centrist wing to Macron’s La République en marche powerhouse. Whatever happens this time around, les Républicains will sooner or later regroup and fortify. But the Front National is really truly falling apart. Years of effort to turn the autocratic family affair into a pseudo-party cleansed of its disgraceful antecedents have come to naught. Marine the Chief messed up her campaign because she was micromanaged by several different lieutenants pushing incompatible unworkable policies. All bluff and bluster, they now look pitiful. And yet polls are predicting the FN and LR tied at 20%. I don’t believe it.

Is it really possible to poll overall percentages for more than 500 separate races where countless local factors will determine the outcome for thousands candidates? In some districts there are as many as 17 candidates in the 1st round.

Does Macron’s right hand man know what his left hand is doing?

Le Canard Enchaîné does not slumber and will not sleep. Having pushed François Fillon out of the race and into political oblivion, the muckrakers drew fresh blood from Emmanuel Macron’s right hand man, Richard Ferrand, Minister of Territorial Cohesion and parliamentary candidate in the 6th district of the Finistère. We have already reported on Ferrand’s indulgent donation to France Palestine Solidarité, one of those questionable charitable organizations with Islamist ties. Now it seems he was far more indulgent with regard to his companion, Sandrine Doucen. A lawyer directly involved in the transaction confirms allegations that Ferrand, acting as director of Les Mutuelles de Bretagne, saw no harm in the health insurance company contracting with Ms. Doucen in 2011 for the rental of a property she did not yet own as head of a company that did not yet exist when she made the bid. Monsieur Ferrand claims les Mutuelles got a good deal, the lawyer says they should have bought the property instead of renting from Ms. Doucen, Richard Ferrand says he and his companion are neither married nor joined by a civil contract. They hold no property in common. The whole affair is perfectly legitimate and voters know he is an honest man.

The parquet national financier (PNF) that investigated François Fillon within 24 hours of the Canard’s revelations concerning his wife’s employment as parliamentary assistant and rushed full speed ahead to the mise en examen that sunk his candidature sees no reason to investigate the Ferrand case.  Ditto for the jurisdiction of Brest. By the way, monsieur Ferrand also employed his son as parliamentary assistant because, he says, he was the only qualified IT technician in the region. Will voters turn their backs on Ferrand the way they abandoned Fillon? Apparently not. Because LREM has made a priority of moralization of political life. The inimitable ultimate moralizer François Bayrou, propelled to the Olympian heights as Justice Minister, has not descended to street level to scold or forgive or even acknowledge the eventual misstep of Richard Ferrand. Other members of the new administration have forcefully declared that there is no reason for Ferrand to resign because there is no Ferrand scandal, all of this is a distraction from the top priority Moralization project.

François Bayrou’s right hand woman, Marielle de Sarnez, is under investigation for an alleged falsified work contract for her EU Parliamentary assistant. A former member of Bayrou’s party claims this was systematic practice. Which confirms my position on the Fillon political assassination: whatever he did, it did not betray the gentleman’s agreement of French politics. If citizens want moralization, they should have said so before the campaign. But if they were stupid enough to be influenced by the manipulation they will probably give Macron the legislative majority he needs to clinch his power grab.

Zionist interlude

After assiduously following the presidential campaign for months and days, I ran out on the winner and his République and boarded an El Al flight to Israel on the 10th of May. Four hours and some minutes later, I landed in a paradigm shift. The first time I visited Israel more than 20 years ago I felt like I was picking up a conversation with close or distant family members that had already begun years or centuries ago. Since then, the impression is sustained and intensified. I’m there as if I’d never left, I leave as if I’ll be back the next day.

So many thousands of words composed with the sincere conviction that what happens here in France will resound and ricochet, such scrupulous attention to detail and earnest effort to make the twists and turns of French politics comprehensible to the outside world…and it fades to insignificance as soon as I am immersed in the chorus of birdsong and the symphony of sunlight of Eretz, the land, that small plot of land that amplifies beyond geography. So much substance in such an intense concentration, so much confidence solidly anchored in courage, the vitality, the energy, the constant overcoming of obstacles. And always a touch of bewilderment from my friends and colleagues. All of them are world travelers, recognized experts, original thinkers, active, experienced, well-informed and struggling to understand European surrender, American Jewish naïveté, stubborn Western refusal to recognize that Israelis are doing what has to be done to defend themselves against the same enemy that is hacking away at our common foundations.

Their children or grandchildren are in the army, in harm’s way. They’ve lost brothers and uncles, they’ve endured years of atrocious shahid attacks, car rammings, stabbings, and they aren’t asking anyone to shield them from realty or to fight in their place. They’re wondering why the proliferation of martyrdom operations throughout the Western world hasn’t led to acknowledgement of a distinct similarity. Instead of which they see powerful European nations and the United States of America responding with flowers and candles to yet another mass murder and still one more and so many you can’t even count them but there’s always a politician, an NGO, an academic, a concerned citizen to scold Israel for its “harsh treatment of Palestinians.”

Catch 22

When I turned on my computer that day and caught a glimpse of “…attack… 22 dead, 59 wounded…I thought the dateline would be Baghdad or Idlib. After reading my emails, I came back to the death toll… in Manchester. Biggest “terrorist” attack since July 7, 2005. Like survivors rising from the dust, feeling for arms and legs, we reach out to friends and family members whenever jihad strikes in their vicinity. All clear for my Manchester. But twenty-two, mostly young people, are dead. The joys of being in Israel are always mixed with tragic landmarks. The Dolphinarium; young people waiting in line at a concert hall on the beach. The Moment Café, now Café de Paris. Sbarro Pizzeria, the daughter of dear friends. Mike’s Place. And the gutted buses. Twenty-eight Copts assassinated in their bus on the way to Ascension services in Egypt. We pass the Hyper Cacher at Porte de Vincennes on our way to the airport in Paris.

Only one explanation fits all: jihad. I have been writing about it for 17 years, I’ve learned from specialists who know more and knew sooner, but I learn quickly. In my books and articles I patiently explain the mechanisms, the strategy, the specific examples as they occur. Israel is the key. Not because I’m Jewish and a Zionist, but because 21st century jihad conquest starts there. The persistent “Mideast Conflict” misconception acts as blinders and hobbles our resistance against today’s totalitarian juggernaut.

It requires colossal effort to admit such a monumental sustained error of analysis before finally drawing lessons from Israel’s experience and stop condemning Israel for doing what we must sooner or later learn to do. As British authorities systematically locate and detain members of the Manchester cell, families mourn their dead. Life is tragic. Young people may die in accidents, of overdoses, murdered by vicious boyfriends or diabolical rivals but these are precisely accidents of life. Those that died in Manchester are casualties of a war that is being fought as if it were criminality. In the UK as in France, intelligence services can’t possibly keep an eye on some 3,000 high priority security risks. They should be in preventive detention.

Europeans rightfully assert that nations with strict controls-e.g. Israel, Russia, the United States-are also vulnerable to death by “terrorism.” Yes, but there is a difference between losing battles and not fighting a war.

President Trump in Arabia and Points West

You follow a presidential campaign, listen attentively to candidates, observe their behavior and attitudes. Most of them are so far from fitting the bill that you can’t believe voters will choose them. But they do. And suddenly the candidate turns into a president ferried around in motorcades, meeting other heads of state in palatial surroundings, making decisions of international scope, squiring a first lady whose outfits are a subject of international attention, and you see before your eyes what it means to take power.

So, what do you think about President Trump’s visit? Will he make peace? The question was raised by various taxi drivers during my stay in Israel. I was invited to comment on the question on i24 news [French channel, May 21st, 9:30 PM]. The most emphatic discourse was delivered at my expense by the oversize driver of a rather shabby taxi that had picked me up at Givat Shaul in Jerusalem. When he asked my opinion, I astutely returned the serve and listened respectfully as he outlined, with increasing volume, his peace plan. Roughly speaking it was ’67 borders, divided Jerusalem and the rest after you sign. He said he lived just 3 minutes from my destination in the German Colony. Would his corner of the German Colony, I ask naively, be part of the Palestinian state? He lives, precisely, in Abu Tor and, yes, he shouts at me, he wants to live in a Palestinian state because, he’s furious, look at this, and pulls out an administrative document, do you know what this is, he hollers, boiling with anger. It was a 500-shekel traffic ticket. He had of course done nothing wrong. “They hate Arabs.” 500 shekels, he’ll work two days for nothing. And his little boy wants a new bicycle. It costs exactly 500 shekels. He’s enraged!

My informant tells me that Trump can make peace, because they’ll do whatever he says. But not with Abbas, he grabs the money. Arafat was good, everyone loved him, he didn’t grab the money. Hamas is good, they don’t grab the money. Who’s the man that will make peace? Barghouti. Everyone loves him.

As we arrive at my destination I feel a tinge of regret. Why did I give him the exact address? I could have picked a corner 2 blocks away. What’s your name, he asked. And I went into a cheerful riff about my jealous husband. What’s your name? Hani. Aha, I laughed, can’t you see my husband when I tell him Hani from Abu Tor is coming to visit me? On that bubbly note, Hani announces a price that’s 20 shekels over the normal rate-a sleight of hand with the meter-and while I’m looking for the small change he’s passing me his cell phone with a picture that I’m hoping isn’t a Daesh snuff video, no it’s his adorable little boy against a multicolor background and the upshot is he succeeds in making me forget I gave him a 100-shekel bill so the total ripoff is about 70 shekels. When I walk into the kitchen, M. is there, and I blurt out “I got ripped off by an Arab taxi driver.” She recoils. “It could have been a Jewish taxi driver.”

That’s true. But he wouldn’t have done it by peace processing me.

On the other hand, 70 shekels is not too much to pay for a live demonstration of peace processing strategy and tactics. The mixture of intimidation, humiliation-provoked rage, domestic politics, seduction and exploitation of children made me forget what I was doing, to his advantage, and he expects, with the unanimously admired leader Marwan Barghouti serving several life terms in an Israeli prison he will make Israel hand over its strategic depth and half of Jerusalem. I like the way he told me that Abu Tor is 3 minutes from the German Colony. If that’s not breathing down your neck…

So what did I expect from President Donald J. Trump in Arabia & points west?  A holy alliance with some 50 Muslim states against “terrorism”? An art of the deal approach to the 2-state solution? An everything must go closeout of the lessons of recent history? The ladies did not wear hijab, Bibi wasn’t welcome at the kotel, you’re both great guys ready to make peace and compromise, this is a fabulous opportunity, a swing through Yad Vashem noblesse oblige…

Am I supposed to believe that none of this matters? It doesn’t matter what the president of the US says in his maiden voyage, with a retinue of 900, to the heart of the problem? It doesn’t matter if the leader of the free world talks terrorism shop with his Muslim buddies that finance totalitarian Islam in our fair lands, stoke the fires of genocidal anti-Zionism, and subscribe to the Cairo Declaration of Human Rights? Of course they’ll be glad to have a Magen [shield of] David against Iran but that doesn’t mean they’re giving up their claims to Jerusalem, the Temple Mount and all that’s waqf under the sun. The close to 400 billion arms sale to Saudi Arabia clinches the sellout.

The nuances escape me. If the brave new Mideast policy means pulling the 2-state “solution” out of history’s garbage heap, burnishing it with one’s own personal luster, and selling it for twice the original price, I have to reply that the deal is going nowhere. And if going nowhere with so much ballyhoo is some subtle way of outsmarting all the predecessors that went nowhere down the same rabbit hole, I repeat, the nuances escape me.

Which is why I will report in the very near future on a promising initiative piloted by my friend Mordechai Kedar: the 8-emirates solution.

Excerpts:

“Successful Arab leadership must be independent, local and firmly rooted with a traditional and homogenous sociological foundation. Israel and the world should recognize and support local leadership in the Arab Palestinian population centers that desire lasting peaceful relations as independent city-states

“The eight city-states would comprise the areas of Jenin, Nablus, Ramallah, Jericho, Tul-Karm, Kalkilya, the Arab part of Hebron and the Gaza strip. Local residents would become citizens of these eight independent countries.

“Complex problems require simple, workable solutions. The Palestinian Emirates vision is a viable alternative based on the Arab sociology of tribalism in Gaza, Judea and Samaria.”

I missed Israel apartheid week

It’s embarrassing but sometimes enlightening to make a faux pas. T., who knows about my interest in developing the Ethiopia-Israel connection, introduces me to O., an Ethiopian Israeli lawyer. What did I have in mind when I ask her if she goes “home” often? She smiles and says, “This is home, I was born in Israel.” In fact she’s been to Ethiopia once. And has already sketched out a typically Israeli development project with her non-Ethiopian friend. We’ll be working together in the near future. I call this photo of us on a windy afternoon on the Yaffo beach promenade is called “I missed Israeli apartheid week.”

Women in full Islamic dress (but not niqab) frolic on the Yaffo beach a few meters away from women in bikinis. Orthodox Jews, moderate and observant Muslims, tourists, yuppies, Russians, people to and from everywhere enjoy the beach promenade that goes all the way from the Northern Port of Tel Aviv to the Yaffo Port. They mingle in beachfront restaurants and cafés, Arab and Jewish restaurants offer delicacies all up and down the narrow Yaffo streets. The call of the muezzin is broadcast over and above rap music here, Mediterranean music there. Muslim families bring their rugs, barbecue paraphernalia, and shishas to picnic on grassy stretches behind the promenade. A young man on horseback gallops down the promenade leading a second horse by the bridle and you’re suddenly in Marrakesh! There is more juxtaposition than intermingling, but there too, I missed Israel apartheid week.

Friends and colleagues tell me success stories of proud to be Israeli Arabs. It’s not mushy and rosy, nothing is in this tough neighborhood. It’s a scattering and smattering, like the urban scene where shabby, dingy, crumbling properties stand side by side with the sleekly modern and everything is under construction and under repair. In the same way, the budding harmony of loyal Arab and Muslim citizens can flourish in a minefield of resentment, enemies within, brutal attacks.

Update Sarah Halimi

While I was in Israel, new and horrifying information about the jihad murder of Sarah Halimi was revealed. The victim’s brother, William Attal, has declared, based on the police report, that Kada Traoré beat and tortured his sister for one hour before throwing her out the window. She had twelve fractures on her face and body. The walls were splattered with blood. Neighbors heard the screams and tumult. One neighbor, sick with disgust at what he heard, recorded six minutes of the killer shouting allahu akhbar and koranic verses as he battered his victim. The “mentally deranged” but agile Traoré climbed from his family’s second floor apartment to the victim’s third floor balcony and smashed the window to burst into her apartment. The police, it is reported, were in the building waiting for reinforcements. For one hour. While a Jew hating madman pummeled and smashed a defenseless woman. The extent of his rage is no surprise to us. But the police? One hour? Waiting for reinforcements? They didn’t hear what the neighbor heard? How many years will we have to wait for a response from the authorities? A trial? A conviction. In the meantime, Traoré is in a mental hospital.

Now that the presidential election is over, the story bobbed up briefly in mainstream media. And disappeared.

N. said “She should have had a gun.” O., a journalist, said “I was in Belleville between the 1st and 2nd round, covering the election. I went around, spoke to people, I didn’t know anything about this murder. Nothing.

N.B. I’ll be reporting on the first round of the legislative elections from the United States. Back to Paris in time for the final round.

How Trump can change America’s ‘voice’ to win over Europe’s elites

European leaders seemed to gloat over the way they treated Donald Trump at the recent NATO and Group of 7 summits.

The newly-elected boy president of France, Emmanuel Macron, thought he could out-macho the U.S. president in what the media called a “white-knuckle” handshake. Macron weighs in at about 5’8” and 130 pounds, not bad for a 39-year-old who kissed the teacher as a teen.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel felt bathed in popularity when she dissed the president and the NATO alliance in public remarks at a Munich beer garden. “We Europeans must really take our own destiny into our own hands,” she told supporters.

Donald Trump is wildly unpopular across “old” Europe, from Sweden to Greece. He is especially despised by the media and the political class.

But the European elites have trash-talked America for decades, all the while riding on our backs for their national defense. This, of course, was Trump’s point when he called on NATO members to bear their fair share of the joint NATO defense burden, set by the Alliance in 2014 at 2 percent of each nation’s gross domestic product.

Defense spending is not popular in Germany, which prefers to splurge on massive public welfare programs to accommodate the recent influx of more than a million mostly unskilled Middle East and African migrants.

Merkel’s likely opponent in the Sept. 24 national elections, Social Democratic Party leader Martin Schulz, says meeting the NATO goal would impose an “enormous financial burden” on Germany, and “is certainly not the goal that my government would pursue.”

Germany currently spends just 1.19 percent of GDP on defense, ranking No. 16 out of the 28-member alliance, NATO figures show.

I lived and worked in Europe for nearly two decades and regularly return for long working and reporting trips. The European media is overwhelmingly anti-American, not just anti-Trump. It is hard to find objective information about the United States even in supposedly conservative media outlets, except in Britain.

Europe is awash with “fake news” when it comes to America, because it suits the interests of the cultural elites, who seek to promote a lifestyle of big government and political correctness — and, of course, their vast cultural “superiority.”

In the late 1970s, the French media despised President Carter because he was weak and so was the dollar. Terrible! The world was going to end because America was vulnerable.

In the mid-1980s, the same French media despised President Reagan because he was strong and so was the dollar. He was a cowboy and going to provoke a Soviet attack!

There is a pattern here. For the European elites, it is always hip to trash talk America. It is less hip — and far less common — to find hard information and level-headed analysis about the United States.

During the early days of the 2003 liberation of Iraq, a military analyst writing for the gray lady of French journalism, Le Monde, claimed that U.S. soldiers were shooting Iraqi citizens at will. “They face no sanctions when a soldier kills civilians,” he wrote. “They even shoot cows!”

That idiocy actually made the front page, as I reported in my 2004 book, French Betrayal of America. French media spin on the 2003 war was so bad that the French prime minister, Jean-Pierre Raffarin, finally told the press to chill out. “The Americans are not the enemies,” he said.

Trump has a powerful tool he could wield in the war of ideas to help Europeans break down the wall of fake news: the Voice of America (VOA).

But today’s “voice” itself has fallen prey to fake news and anti-American vitriol.

By its charter, signed into law by President Ford in 1974, the Voice of America serves the long-range interests of the United States “by communicating directly with the peoples of the world.”

Its broadcasts must uphold three standards: “VOA will serve as a consistently reliable and authoritative source of news. VOA will represent America, not any single segment of American society. VOA will present the policies of the United States clearly and effectively.”

Today, Voice of America has failed its charter, as any reader of BBGWatch, a blog established by former VOA journalists and editors, can see.

But a reinvigorated Voice of America, staffed by reporters and editors guided by a sense of patriotism and national pride — not partisan politics — can change the way the world views this country.

Imagine if Voice of America began broadcasting once again to Europe, starting with AM and FM radio? These command massive audiences, as the flourishing of commercial radio attests. But VOA is not there.

Imagine if VOA began pushing its daily English-language TV news bulletins over satellite into France, Germany, Sweden, and the like, presenting Europeans with actual news they were not reading in their local media?

There’s no secret how the overwhelming majority of European correspondents working in Washington get their news. They pick up The New York Times, The Washington Post and turn on CNN. Little wonder that their dispatches mirror the fake news that already dominates these once-great media organizations.

Imagine if those correspondents had to compete against a popular source of real news, especially if that source were called the Voice of America?

They might actually have to wear out some shoe leather. Talk to actual sources. Sing for their suppers. They might have to actually provide news to their audiences back home, not just the fake news and anti-American nonsense of the cultural elites.

The lack of accurate information about America in Europe would be comic if our European allies were not facing a dire extremist threat from political Islam, as well as a demographic time bomb from Muslim immigrants who seek to transform Europe, rather than assimilate to it.

The Voice of America can transform the image Europeans have of this country, and help them rediscover the values we hold in common.

Is that asking too much of U.S. taxpayer-funded journalists? I almost forgot: that’s just asking them to live up to the Voice of America charter.

Anarchy in Academia: Cry-Bullies Gone Wild

The recent events at Evergreen College would make a great Saturday Night Live skit if they weren’t so serious and such an alarming portent of future social chaos.

Academia trains the future leaders of society – if colleges and universities are breeding racist anarchist cry-bullies instead of thoughtful leaders who can listen to other points of view, the future for America is tyranny of thought and totalitarianism.

The racist and infantile demands of the Evergreen students expose the childishness of cry-bully functioning. Like two-year-olds screaming “I WANT WHAT I WANT WHEN I WANT IT” these student outbursts create cognitive dissonance for any rational adult watching. There is a sense of unreality that “this cannot be happening on campuses in America” – but it is happening all over the country at colleges and universities where cry-bullies have gone wild.

What is the source of their tantrums? Why are they being tolerated by the “adults” in charge? What is the purpose of cry-bullying outbursts?

The complete self-absorption of infants and young children is an expected condition of infancy and early childhood. There is no “other” in their consciousness – they operate on the narcissistic principle of self. When that narcissism is advanced into adulthood it is not only shocking it is dangerous. Early childhood is distinguished by its narcissism and society’s acceptance of that narcissism because growing up is a process and early childhood is the beginning of the process.

The first sign of emotional development is the baby’s recognition of “other.” The baby begins to recognize his mother/caretaker as separate from himself. The baby learns that if he cries mother will come to him. As he gets older the child realizes that he is dependent upon the care of the “other” and the child only experiences ”other” as existing to meet his/her own needs.

Only when the child begins to understand that “other” exists as a separate self who is as important as his own self as the child is to himself can the concept of reciprocity develop and ethical living begin.

What is so stunning about the behavior of cry-bullies on campus is their complete unawareness of “other.” Their infantile narcissism keeps them insulated in a prism of self. They do not see the staggering hypocrisy of ordering all white students and faculty off campus. If all black students and faculty were ordered off campus the cry-bullies would go wild screaming RACISM! Cry-bullies do not see the hypocrisy of demanding respect when they behave so disrespectfully. If professors started screaming and swearing at them the cry-bullies would go wild demanding SAFE SPACES! Cry-bullies do not see the hypocrisy of demanding no homework at an academic institution.

The long-term consequences of a narcissistic perspective advanced into adulthood is that it is self-destructive. Thought precedes behavior. If an individual thinks like a child he/she behaves like a child. Childhood is distinguished by its powerlessness. Thinking like a child produces a victim mentality of blame and powerlessness that creates cry-bullies and temper tantrums instead of self-actualized adults capable of rational thought and constructive effective change.

The question is WHY would the “adults” in charge submit to the childish demands of a two-year-old? Why do ineffectual parents submit to the demands of their two-year-old?

Some are simply intimidated by the cry-bullying. Some are emotional children themselves and actually support cry-bullying. Some want to ingratiate themselves to the cry-bully and be their friend. Some are Leftists promoting anarchy. No matter what the motive, submitting to the demands of a two-year—old whether that child is chronologically two or emotionally two is a flawed strategy for the survival of a democratic America.

Parents need their children to grow into emotional adulthood and society needs its citizens to become emotional adults. A society of children is not sustainable – it will eventually collapse or be challenged and taken over by a society of adults. This is why the social chaos created on campus and advanced into society by the graduating cry-bullies is so dangerous.

Social chaos is the condition necessary to collapse American democracy and replace it with socialism -> internationalism -> globalism -> and ultimately one-world government ruled by the globalist elite. Social chaos is the agent of change for anarchists.

American campuses need an adult in charge to fend off the infantile demands of its cry-bully students. America needs adults an charge to fend off the infantile demands of the left-wing liberals promoting anarchy and the victim mentality of identity politics. American universities are the canary in the coal mine.

Candidate Hillary Clinton famously said that they (Democrats) need a public that is unaware and compliant. Unaware and compliant are the conditions of childhood. Children are powerless and can be exploited and controlled – exactly what Hillary wanted. When Hillary was unexpectedly defeated the Left went into overdrive to delegitimize, destabilize, and destroy Trump’s presidency. The “resistance” movement lead by EX-president Barack Obama is an attack on American democracy.

Americans voted for an adult when they voted for Donald Trump. If the Left and their cry-bully politicians fomenting anarchy succeed in their campaign to overthrow constitutionally elected President Donald Trump then American democracy will be destroyed and the globalist elites will be able to impose one-world government on the unsuspecting cry-bullies on campus who were duped into believing they would get social justice and income equality for their efforts.

One-world government is a binary socio-political system of masters and slaves described unapologetically in chilling detail by Lord Bertrand Russell in his 1952 book The Impact of Science on Society. The irony for these black student cry-bullies is that they are participating in their own destruction. There is no freedom or upward mobility in one-world government – only tyranny and totalitarianism.

The student cry-bullies will learn the hard way that their infantile behavior will reduce them to slaves like their ancestors.

VIDEO: Paris Accord is About Wealth Redistribution, Not Climate

Jason Devaney from NewsMax reports:

The Paris Climate accord’s premise is wealth distribution and it would not even have much of an impact on Earth’s climate, ClimateDepot.com founder Marc Morano said.

During an interview with Newsmax TV’s Steve Malzberg, Morano discussed the climate change agreement that President Donald Trump is reportedly leaning toward withdrawing the U.S. from.

“You wouldn’t even be able to measure the impact using the UN assumptions. This is according to a peer-reviewed paper by a statistician called Dr. Bjorn Lomborg,” Morano said.

“The UN has actually admitted the real reason for the treaty. They said this is not even environmental policy anymore, we will redistribute wealth by climate policy. That’s what they want, a $100 billion a year slush fund going to governments that are best able to keep your people locked in poverty.

Finally, Conservatives are Fighting Back!

For years, I have been extremely frustrated with my fellow Republicans and Conservatives allowing Leftists/Democrats to dictate how we’re allowed to fight for our ideas. Meanwhile, Leftists/Democrats can promote whatever violence inciting lie they deem necessary. Remarkably, despite overwhelming evidence proving otherwise, Leftists are still promoting the lie that black criminal Michael Brown was gunned down by a white racist cop while surrendering with his hands up.

Leftists can say and do disgusting things publicly in front of innocent children outrageously decreed by fake news media to have the moral high ground.

Here are just a few examples of what I am talking about. On Trump’s Inauguration Day at the anti-Trump Women’s March in D.C.,thousands wore what they crudely called p***y hats. My late mom would have been shocked and extremely embarrassed. Madonna boldly proclaimed her desire to blow up the White House. Fakes news media would have demanded the immediate prosecution of a tea party person saying the same.

In 2010, over a million Tea Party Americans gathered in Washington DC to oppose Obamacare. The peaceful polite crowd left the place cleaner than they found it. Fake news media despicably told our country it was a mob of haters against their black president. Leftists routinely trash the cites of their rallies.

Democrats countered the Tea Party with their own fake spontaneous movement called Occupy Wall Street. The assorted groups of anti-American fruits and nuts in attendance were highly praised by Democrats and fake news media. They were allowed to break the law; leaving mountains of trash and committing crimes which included rapes. Occupy Wall Street operatives disgustingly dumped a bucket of feces into the lobby of a public building.

With no rebuke from fake news media, Black Lives Matter protesters marched down a New York street chantingWhat do we want? Dead cops. When do we want them? Now!!!”

Recently, the California Democrat Chair instructed his audience, “All together now, f*ck Donald Trump!”

As a black Tea Party activist who has participated in over 500 Tea Party rallies, never have I witnessed such language toward President Obama.

Rush Limbaugh created a fake news media firestorm and was deemed a traitor when he courageously said because he loves his country he hoped Obama’s mission to transform America failed. And yet, fake news media celebrates the Democrats’ “Resistance Summer” movement against Trump. Is it a stretch to say that Leftists openly attempting to block Trump’s efforts to make America great again is an act of treason?

Vile Leftist activist Kathy Griffin published a disgusting photo of her holding the bloody beheaded head of President Trump. Imagine the tsunami of fake news media outrage had a Tea Party person published such a photo holding Obama’s bloody head.

Rabid Leftist Trump hater and TV host Bill Maher made mean-spirited incest jokes about Donald and Ivanka Trump. Again, imagine the furious anger and dire consequences had a conservative made such jokes about Obama and his daughters.

Do you see the pattern folks? Leftists lay down all kinds of rules for us, while they are allowed to behave without laws or rules of human decency.

Leftists’ ultimate goal is to silence all opposition to their mission to transform America. Emboldened by their successful removal of big-fish Bill O’Reilly from Fox News, Leftists are going after powerful conservative TV and radio host Sean Hannity.

Thank God, finally, conservatives are waking up and fighting back. Brian Maloney and Melanie Morgan have declared it time to stop the scalpings, launching “Operation Fight Fire With Fire.” I love it! Atop their list of extreme Leftists to push back against their lies is Rachel Maddow. Folks, I know you join me in thinking, “It’s about time!”

Candidly, I am still basking in the after glow of Trump’s election, thanking and praising God for delivering us from the edge of losing our country had Hillary won. But, we must stay engaged in the battle to preserve our victory. Freedom ain’t free folks. Enraged Leftists have cranked up their no-holds-barred opposition to Trump setting us free from Obama’s legacy to unprecedented levels. Even treason against their country is deemed an acceptable tactic to remove Trump from office to resume Obama’s transformation of America.

As God gives me strength, that ain’t happenin’ on my watch.

The Other Europe

Robert Royal notes that the progressive future can’t be great since it doesn’t concern itself with the future of children and societies fertile enough to reproduce themselves.

Last week, when the leader of the free world was (depending on which sources you paid attention to) either destroying America’s carefully constructed system of international alliances or shaking up the policy establishment at home and abroad to deal with the new world environment, something equally consequential – and more fundamental – took place, almost unnoticed, in Hungary.

I’ve mentioned in passing several times in recent days that I spoke at the Eleventh World Congress for Families that has just finished in Budapest. But it’s difficult to convey what an inspiring and hopeful – and unexpected – event it was.

We almost never hear about it, mired as we are in our political obsessions, but there are thousands of family and marriage activists and organizations at work around the world. Most of them were present in Budapest last week. And most important of all, outside of Western Europe, North America, and their offshoots in places like Australia and New Zealand, countries are not at all following the absurd and suicidal trends on marriage and children that we (falsely) believe have gripped the whole world.

Hungary is a leading example in Europe itself. Prime Minister and former anti-Soviet dissident Viktor Orban has succeeded in starting to reverse the disastrous trends in marriage and births that Hungary, like Western Europe, had been showing for years. This has been the result partly of social commitment, partly of specific policies.

The 2011 Hungarian Constitution, the first one adopted since it regained freedom after the fall of the Soviet Union, states this:

Article L (1) Hungary shall protect the institution of marriage as the union of a man and a woman established by voluntary decision, and the family as the basis of the survival of the nation. Family ties shall be based on marriage and/or the relationship between parents and children. (2) Hungary shall encourage the commitment to have children.

That may seem an empty gesture given the dominant culture of our international elites, but ten years ago, Hungary had a marriage rate of around 3.6 per thousand, the same as Southern European countries like Italy, Spain, and Portugal. Now it’s nearly 4.75, and steadily climbing.
