Debbie Wasserman Schultz announced Sunday she is stepping down as chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee at the end of the party’s convention, which is set to begin here Monday.
The Florida congresswoman’s resignation — under heavy pressure from top Democrats — comes amid the release of thousand of leaked emails showing DNC staffers favoring Hillary Clinton over Bernie Sanders in the party’s 2016 primary contest.
Her announcement that she was leaving had pro-Sanders supporters cheering during a demonstration in Philadelphia and Donald Trump and other Republicans crowing about the disarray among the Democrats.

Dozens of Salt Lake City residents came together at West High School to protest recent developments within the Democratic Party.
“WikiLeaks? WikiLeaks? That’s exactly what we thought the whole time,” said Wesley Randall, a Bernie Sanders supporter.
Emails from DNC staffers released by Wikileaks appear to show the Democratic National Committee favoring Hillary Clinton over Bernie Sanders during the primary process. Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz announced Sunday she will resign at the end of the party’s convention, which begins Monday.
“It’s not okay to rig the primary, and that’s essentially what they’ve done here,” said Felicia Taylor, one of the two organizers of Sunday’s rally.
The rally started at West High School, where Sanders gave his second speech in Utah, and ended at Liberty Park, some 3.4 miles later.
“We even had one Hillary supporter come up to us and join us saying, ‘I used to be a Hillary supporter up until a couple days ago, but I’m with you now,'” Taylor said. “Then she walked with us the rest of the way.”
Donald Trump made the following remarks about Bernie Sanders and the DNC Convention during his acceptance speech:

Based on traditional campaigning markers and guideposts, experts predict Trump will go down in humiliating defeat to Hillary Clinton. I think they are wrong folks. Michael Jackson said, “I’m not like other guys.” I say Donald Trump is not like other politicians.
When Trump announced his bid for the White House, snooty political elites laughed, “Look at this idiot.” They had no idea that millions of Americans at home watching were saying, “Yeah! Right on! I like this guy!”
Polls continue to tighten between Trump and Hillary. I suspect some of Hillary’s lead is due to voters lying to pollsters that they will vote for the first woman president; similar to the Bradley Effect. In 1982, California voters did not want to be thought of as racist so they lied to pollsters saying they would vote for Bradley, the black candidate. Despite a strong lead according to the polls, Bradley lost his bid for governor.
Another thing that may cause voters to lie to pollsters is their fear of being on the wrong side of political correctness. Voters have seen what happens to anyone who speaks-out against Leftist’s sacred cow issues. Trump has become the king of political incorrectness. Therefore, some voters feel they must keep the fact that they agree with Trump a secret.
I believe the Trumpster will win the White House for three simple reasons. One: His name recognition. Two: His connection with the common man. Three: American’s disgust with the direction our country is going.
Admittedly, the following anecdotes are not scientific, but I think they are quite telling.
While in the supermarket checkout line, I saw the cover of the National Enquirer with an unflattering photo of Hillary. The headline read, “Crooked Hillary: Corrupt!” in large bold type. Folks, I do not ever recall a tabloid expressing such an in-your-face rebuke of a democrat politician. Something new is definitely happening this election cycle. The National Enquirer appeals mostly to low-info-voters. Its cover branding Hillary a corrupt political insider could be huge. The cover also plays perfectly into Trump’s narrative that voters have been shafted by professional politicians in both parties. “Vote for me, the outsider.”
I am chairman of the Conservative Campaign Committee. Our team traveled state-to-state during the primaries campaigning for Ted Cruz. I witnessed an unmistakable broad demographic of passionate Trump supporters.
Back home in Florida, I experienced that same Trump-mania in Irv, my white handyman. Irv is a low-info voter who worships Obama. Obama gave Irv a free phone. Irv believes Obama is committed to confiscating wealth from selfish evil rich people to take care of poor welfare recipients like his mom and sister. So you can imagine how shocked I was when Irv expressed his excitement about Trump becoming president. Irv said, “Trump is gonna clean this mess up!” This tells me that Trump has a remarkable connection with folks in both parties.
Even the Left’s standard tactic of branding everyone who is not liberal a racist has not really worked on Trump. Numerous black and Hispanic groups enthusiastically support Trump.
Trump pretty much owns the evangelical vote. At the GOP convention, Dr Ben Carson exposed the fact that Hillary’s hero is Saul Alinsky who is a huge fan of Lucifer. Liberal media went nuts. They hate it whenever anyone dares to expose the truth about them and their agenda.
Republican turnout during the primaries far exceeded the democrat turnout. Yes, something unprecedented is fueling the Trump phenomenon.
To keep my blood sugar numbers good, I daily use an aerobic machine at my local gym. The gym has 20 TV sets hanging from the ceiling. Amazingly, Trump is consistently either the topic of discussion or being interviewed on at least five of those TV sets. No politician has ever enjoyed such free coverage.
Trump’s TV show has been on 14 years. Talk about name recognition, I suspect millions more people know Trump than know Hillary Clinton.
The FBI and DOJ giving Hillary a pass on blatantly jeopardizing our national security and breaking the law has some “Never Trump” people warming up to him. The same way the GOP and mainstream media allowed Obama to behave as king due to his race, they will allow Hillary to do the same due to her gender. Our nation as founded cannot survive another lawless, out-of-control, corrupt and narcissistic dictator running our country. Hillary our Queen; we her supplicants.
Some have said they cannot morally vote for either presidential candidate. They say, “Voting for the lesser of two evils is still evil.” Fine. God forbid that I judge someone for voting their conscience. However, I submit that sometimes life does call for us to make unpleasant responsible choices; to choose the lesser evil.
Two evil masters seek to purchase the same slave. The slave’s owner offers him the privilege to choose between the two evil new masters seeking to purchase him. One master is a tyrant. The other is a tyrant and a rapist; sure to rape the slave’s wife and daughter. Doesn’t the slave have a moral obligation to his wife and daughter to choose the less evil master?
As I stated, my belief that Trump will win is not scientific. It is based on three simple facts. The guy has huge name recognition. He has a unique connection with regular folks. Voters are not up for a third term of Obama channeled through Hillary. In this bizarre-o political season, those three reasons just might be enough to land Trump the Oval Office.

The Global Muslim Brotherhood Daily Watch (GMBDW) reported in October 2007 that current Democratic Vice-Presidential candidate Tim Kaine had a close relationship to the Muslim American Society (MAS), a part of the US Muslim Brotherhood closest to the Egyptian organization. According to a local media article cited in that post:
Democratic Gov. Timothy M. Kaine is far too close to a Muslim group that allegedly has ties to Islamic terrorism and espouses radical views, according to two local delegates. But a group leader says the charges are founded in racism.
Kaine should move to put some distance between his administration and the Falls Church-based Muslim American Society, said Dels. Todd Gilbert, R-Woodstock, and Clifford L. “Clay” Athey Jr., R-Front Royal.
It all started when Kaine appointed Dr. Esam Omeish, the president of the society, to the Virginia Commission on Immigration. Gilbert wrote to Kaine, asking him to reconsider the appointment after seeing online videos of Omeish accusing Israel of genocide against Palestinians and exhorting Muslims to “the jihad way.”
Omeish resigned less than a day later under pressure from Kaine.
But after some investigation, the delegates say the connections between Kaine and MAS appear to be deeper than just one appointment.
Kaine was the keynote speaker at the society’s Freedom Foundation “Standing for Justice Dinner.” He was photographed with leaders of the group, including Imam Mahdi Bray, the executive director of the foundation.
In an online video of a 2000 rally in Washington, Abdurahman al-Amoudi — who would later plead guilty to charges of funneling money from Libya to Saudi militants — took to the podium and declared his support for Hamas and Hezbollah.
Hamas, now the ruling party in the Gaza Strip, started a wave of suicide bombings against Israeli civilians in 1993, according to the nonpartisan Council on Foreign Relations. Hezbollah, which now holds a quasi-state in southern Lebanon, is thought to be behind the 1983 bombing of the Marine barracks in Beirut that killed 241 servicemen.
“I have been labeled by the media in New York to be a supporter of Hamas. Anybody support this Hamas here?” al-Amoudi says in the video, drawing cheers from the crowd and fist pumps from Bray.
“I wish the added that I am also a supporter of Hezbollah. Anybody supports Hezbollah here?” he asks, drawing more cheers and fist pumps.

The convention’s schedule lists the group “Mothers of the Movement” as featured speakers on Tuesday, July 25, alongside former President Bill Clinton. Patrick Hogan from Fusion reports:
Having the “Mothers of the Movement” speak on the same night as Bill Clinton, however, is an interesting choice, given that the former president’s policies on welfare and crime have made him a particular target of that movement. He has also had several highly publicized and acrimonious encounters with protesters during the 2016 campaign.

Sybrina Fulton, Mother Of Trayvon Martin. The Democrats have attempted to play the Martin’s killing as a case-in-point of white police racism. There are just three problems: first, the man who shot him, George Zimmerman, was not white; second, George Zimmerman was not a cop; third, Trayvon Martin was by all available evidence sitting atop Zimmerman’s prone body and slamming his head into the concrete when Zimmerman shot him. Zimmerman was not only acquitted of a murder charge, the Department of Justice couldn’t find anything to charge him for either.
Lezley McSpadden, Mother Of Michael Brown. Michael Brown was a thug who strong-arm robbed a convenience store, then punched Officer Darren Wilson, tried to grab his gun and shoot him, and finally tried to charge him before being shot. This is true according to witness testimony; even Eric Holder’s DOJ could not find something wrong with the shooting. That didn’t stop the left from manufacturing from whole cloth a narrative of evil white police officers shooting black men surrendering by shouting “Hands up, don’t shoot!”
Gwen Carr, Mother Of Eric Garner. Eric Garner was not murdered by police. He resisted arrest and was placed in a submission hold by the cops; he then died of a heart attack because he was dramatically overweight. Garner had a long history of health issues ranging from diabetes to sleep apnea to asthma so bad that he had to quit a city job. Garner shouldn’t have died over selling “loosies,” but blaming his death on cop racism is asinine.
Maria Hamilton, Mother Of Dontre Hamilton. This case isn’t a household name because Hamilton grabbed an officer’s baton and hit him in the neck with it before the officer shot him. The officer was fired because Hamilton was a diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic.
Lucia McBath, Mother Of Jordan Davis. Jordan Davis was murdered by Michael David Dunn at a gas station in Florida. Davis was playing his music loudly in his car; Dunn confronted him, then got a gun and shot 10 rounds into the car. Davis was convicted of first degree murder. So what exactly is the problem with the criminal justice system or police, then?
Geneva Reed-Veal, Mother Of Sandra Bland. Sandra Bland committed suicide while in police custody. Rumors of an evil police murder and coverup circulated on the internet, but there was no evidence to back any of them.

Donald Trump “humbly and gratefully” accepted the Republican Party nomination for the presidency of the United States on July 21st, 2016.
The theme of Mr. Trump’s acceptance speech was to show the differences between him, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and the Democratic Party’s platform. Trump summed it up by saying:
My opponent asks her supporters to recite a three-word loyalty pledge. It reads: “I’m with her.” I choose to recite a different pledge. My pledge reads: “I’m with you the American people.”

We are going to build a great border wall to stop illegal immigration, to stop the gangs and the violence, and to stop the drugs from pouring into our communities.
By ending catch-and-release on the border, we will stop the cycle of human smuggling and violence.
Peace will be restored by enforcing the rules for the millions who overstay their visas, our laws will finally receive the respect they deserve.
We are going to be considerate and compassionate to everyone. But my greatest compassion will be for our own struggling citizens.
I have a different vision for our workers. It begins with a new, fair trade policy that protects our jobs and stands up to countries that cheat — of which there are many.
I’m going to make our country rich again. Using the greatest business people of the world, I’m going to turn our bad trade agreements into great trade agreements.
I am going to bring our jobs back our jobs to Ohio and Pennsylvania and New York and Michigan and all of America and I am not going to let companies move to other countries, firing their employees along the way, without consequences.
I pledge to never sign any trade agreement that hurts our workers, or that diminishes our freedom and Independence. We will never ever sign bad trade deals. America first again. American first.
I will make individual deals with individual countries. No longer will we enter into these massive transactions with many countries that are thousands of pages long and which no one from our country even reads or understands.
We are going to enforce all trade violations against any country that cheats. This includes stopping China’s outrageous theft of intellectual property, along with their illegal product dumping, and their devastating currency manipulation.
I have proposed the largest tax reduction of any candidate who has run for president this year, Democrat or Republican. Middle-income Americans will experience profound relief, and taxes will be greatly simplified for everyone. I mean everyone.
Excessive regulation is costing our country as much as $2 trillion a year, and we will end and it very quickly.
We are going to lift the restrictions on the production of American energy.
We will build the roads, highways, bridges, tunnels, airports, and the railways of our tomorrow.
We will rescue kids from failing schools by helping their parents send them to a safe school of their choice.
We will repeal and replace disastrous Obamacare. You will be able to choose your own doctor again.
[W]e will fix TSA at the airports, which is a total disaster.
We are going to work with all of our students who are drowning in debt to take the pressure off these young people just starting out in their adult lives.
We will completely rebuild our depleted military.
[T]he countries that we protecting at a massive cost to us will be asked to pay their fair share.
We will take care of our great veterans like they have never been taken care of before.
We will guarantee those who serve this country will be able to visit the doctor or hospital of their choice without waiting five days in a line and dying.
We are going to ask every department head and government to provide a list of wasteful spending projects that we can eliminate in my first 100 days.
We are also going to appoint justices to the United States Supreme Court who will uphold our laws and our constitution.
My opponent wants to essentially abolish the 2nd Amendment. I, on the other hand, received the early and strong endorsement of the National Rifle Association. And will protect the right of all Americans to keep their families safe.
An amendment, pushed by Lyndon Johnson, many years ago, threatens religious institutions with a loss of their tax-exempt status if they openly advocate their political views. Their voice has been taken away. I will work hard to repeal that language and to protect free speech for all Americans.

As “We The People” witness the ongoing presidential political race, it is very easy to see a clear and present difference between the two camps. However, it comes down to what voters genially desire. Not since the Gipper, Ronald Reagan took on and first defeated Jimmy Carter and for his second term Overwhelmed Walter Mondale has there been such an opportunity to choose between such distinct paths for America. On the left the direction simply continues on at the record speed of destruction that has been the hallmark of the Obama administration.
It is bad enough that Our economy is wheezing under the pressure of record debt and deficits. President Obama has pandered to the lowest dregs of society, some of which are diseased refugees who are hell bent on spreading their sick Islamic-sharia law philosophy. Through the dwindling power of the office he holds, the president has literally done nothing to strengthen America or shore up our national interests. He has only led from behind walking backwards.
Not only here in America, but throughout the majority of planet earth, nation after nation is suffering from the influence of Obama’s mission of appeasement toward millions of Muslims who are acting on their declaration of war against civilization. Our military is both smaller and weaker than it was before World War Two. Both race relations and economic opportunities have been dramatically deteriorated due to the progressive policies that aided both bad behavior and economic duldrums.
That is why at the outset of this column I mentioned the clear and present differences between the two presidential contender camps. Mrs. Clinton represents the continuation of the harmful and tyrannical regulations, the economic stifling and unalienable rights inhibiting policies and open border dogma of President Barack H. Obama. While Donald Trump continues to advocate the lowering of taxes, the lessening of regulations, the rebuilding of our military and the securing of our border. If unabated, the policies of Obama then Mrs. Clinton will deteriorate America beyond recognition. On the other hand, if the stated policy ideals of the Trump campaign are realized, then America will be number one again.
Unfortunately, because of years of dummying down of many generations of Americans, at least 40 percent of the American population along with illegal immigrants and refugees who are allowed to vote, it could be a tough battle to rebuild the United States to greatness.
When in Cleveland for the Republican National Convention, it was both comical and sad to witness Americans viciously attacking Trump and Trump supporters for simply wanting our national sovereignty and borders protected. I was haunted by a silly thought of a home owner allowing any and everybody to come in and take food, urinate everywhere, rape his wife and then attacking others who would dare to suggest he should protect the sovereignty of his own home. The progressive liberal movement reflects a destructive mental disorder that if left unchecked or stopped, could cause the utter elimination of the United States permanently from amongst the ranks of great nations. Which, by the way is and has been the goal of the democrats/progressives/liberals for decades.
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the underlying struggle between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton as well as some establishment republicans concerning the push for globalism. Most, if not all of the international trade agreements between the United States and our competitor nations have benefited everyone other than the United States. They weaken our manufacturing ability, while at the same time place America at an economic and trade disadvantage. Every one of our so-called trading partners have major multi billion trade advantages over the United states because of the foolish terms agreed upon by previous administrations and the current regime.
Because of the thinking and lack of concern for our national security and that of the rest of the civilized world, including Israel, the Obama administration has totally given in to the demands of Iran. As a result, the Iranians may very soon have the capability to wipe Israel off the map with nuclear weapons. Hillary Clinton agrees with that utter madness and will expand on that destructive mission by continuing to give in to Muslim dictatorships whose number one mission is oppression of all who are not Muslim. Presidential candidate Donald Trump has repeatedly spoken against the John Kerry method of appeasement at the expense of American security, prestige and stature.
The differences between the two camps are as extreme as night and day and the choice is ultimately up to us voters, barring any voter fraud of course. It is my belief that Donald Trump and Governor Pence represent a solid ticket that if elected will prove good for our republic on so many levels. It comes down to if Americans desire more destruction of America and the rest of the civilized world, or the rebuilding of this land of opportunity.
This final note. I must congratulate Cleveland for providing a most appealing backdrop for the republican national convention. That city’s downtown is both beautiful and lively with numerous great restaurants and attractions for every age group and taste. I also got to explore beyond Cleveland’s downtown core and was impressed with areas like Little Italy, Tremont, Ohio City, University Circle and beyond. All of those great travel articles I read about Cleveland before going there did not stretch the truth about that fun and appealing city by the lake one bit. Well done C-town.

Secure borders are synonymous with safety and that’s what Americans want in 2016.
“Making America Safe Again” was the focus of the first day of the Republican National Convention.
Sen. Jeff Sessions of Alabama and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani addressed the convention and unequivocally linked immigration to that vital goal, especially where the threat of terrorism is concerned.
Kent Terry — brother of Brian Terry, a Border Patrol agent who was killed on duty by illegal aliens — also spoke at the convention, as did two mothers and one father of children were slain by illegal aliens, saying that victims of criminal aliens needs to be addressed.
This means that there are about 10 percent as many ICE agent protecting the entire United States of America as there are cops protecting “The Big Apple.”
Early in his quest for the presidency, Donald Trump ignited a firestorm when he made the need for securing America’s borders a key issue for his candidacy, promising the build a wall to separate the United States from Mexico and getting the Mexican government to pay for that wall.
Many politicians were aghast at Trump’s candor. They had come to depend on the campaign contributions of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and other organizations and deep-pocketed contributors that have been feeding at the super-lucrative trough of immigration, seeing in that massive influx of foreign workers (both illegal and legal with work visas such as the H-1B visa) a way of greatly reducing labor costs by importing a cheap labor force that would drive down wages and even supplant American workers with far more compliant foreign workers.
However, the failures of our government to effectively secure our borders and effectively enforce our immigration laws to create a cheap labor force comes with a high price tag — the lives of innocent victims killed by criminal aliens and those killed by terrorists.
Sen. Sessions also talked about how flooding America with more foreign workers than the number of new jobs that have been created has caused wages to decline, especially for middle-class workers, thrusting millions of Americans into poverty and also resulting in tens of millions of Americans leaving the labor force.
The 9/11 Commission, to which I provided testimony, made it clear that the terror attacks of September 11, 2001 (as well as other terror attacks) could not have been carried out if the terrorists had not been able to enter the United States in the first place and then been able to embed themselves (hide in plain sight) by acquiring multiple false identities and lawful immigration status by committing not only visa fraud but immigration benefit fraud.
Immigration is indeed inextricably linked to national security and public safety. We cannot protect ourselves from international terrorists and transnational criminals if we don’t prevent them from entering our country and then do nothing to seek them out if they succeed in entering the United States by one means or another.
While the U.S./Mexican border must be made secure, simply securing that porous border would not end the immigration crisis that undermines national security, public safety, and the economy of the United States. It is estimated that nearly half of all illegal aliens did not run that border but were admitted into the United States through ports of entry. None of the 9/11 terrorists ran our borders either.
The RNC leadership needs to hang a different sign on their walls: “It’s the Immigration Problem, Stupid!”
Securing America’s southwestern border, while absolutely essential, is only one component of the dysfunctional immigration system that must be quickly addressed.
The United States has 50 “Border States.” Any state that lies along our northern border as well as our southern border are border states, as are those states that have access to America’s 95,000 miles of meandering coastline. Any state that has an international airport is also a border state.
There is certainly no shortage of ways for aliens to enter the United States by evading the inspections process or by entering through a port of entry and then simply disappearing. The key to our immigration crisis is to also effectively enforce our immigration laws from the interior of the United States. This can only be done by having many more ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) special agents to enforce the immigration laws from within the interior of the United States.
Today there are only about 7,000 ICE agents for the entire United States. It is believed that fewer than half of them are actually assigned to enforcing the immigration laws while other agents are assigned to investigating violations of customs laws.
To put this in perspective, CBP (Customs and Border Protection) has more than 60,000 employees who work for the U.S. Border Patrol — which has well over 20,000 agents patrolling our nation’s borders and well over 20,000 inspectors conducting inspections of arriving cargo and people seeking entry into the United States at some 325 ports of entry across the United States.
TSA has more than 45,000 employees.
The NYPD has more than 35,000 police officers just to protect New York City. This means that there are about 20 percent as many ICE agents protecting the entire United States of America as there are cops protecting “The Big Apple.”
Furthermore, the notion that enforcing our immigration laws would, forgive the expression, “alienate” so-called “Latino Voters” is a massive lie perpetrated on America by those who are determined to erase America’s borders and end immigration law enforcement. Our immigration laws are utterly and completely blind as to race, religion, and ethnicity. As an INS (Immigration and Naturalization Service) agent, many of the aliens I investigated and arrested were not citizens of Latin American countries but came from countries from all over the globe — including Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, the Caribbean, Canada, and elsewhere.
America’s immigration laws were enacted to protect national security and the well-being and lives and livelihoods of Americans. The section of our immigration laws that defines the categories of aliens to be excluded from the United States is found under Title 8 U.S. Code § 1182: (Inadmissible Aliens) and includes aliens who suffer dangerous communicable diseases or severe mental illness, aliens who are fugitives from justice, aliens who are convicted felons, spies, terrorists, war criminals, human rights violators, and others whose presence would undermine national security and/or public safety.
This section of law also addresses the issue of protecting the jobs, wages, and working conditions of American workers. In point of fact, prior to World War II, the primary responsibility and authority for enforcing and administering our immigration laws was vested in the Labor Department. America’s political leaders who were part of America’s “Greatest Generation” understood that for America to do well, Americans had to do well.
The long-term viability of America depends on the well-being of our citizens. Effectively enforcing and administering our immigration laws to protect American lives and American jobs would strengthen our nation, help reduce poverty and enable America to once again provide the leadership that the safety and stability of the world desperately need.
When Bill Clinton first ran for the presidency, his campaign staffers posted signs on their office walls that said, “It’s the economy, stupid!”

Dr. Ben Carson went on the offensive against secular progressives, the political elite, media and Hillary Clinton who wrote a thesis on Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals” that was dedicated to Lucifer.

When Donald Trump introduced Indiana Governor Mike Pence as the vice presidential nominee, the media had a field day unearthing Pence’s past tweets and votes that appeared to disagree with his future running mate’s positions. On issues such as free trade agreements, some of Pence’s past views seemed closer to those of his former colleague, House Speaker Paul Ryan, than his new running mate.
But on one of Trump’s signature issues — his opposition to the resettlement of Muslim refugees from Syria — the Indiana governor took Trump-style executive action even before Trump. Way back on November 16, Governor Pence directed his state agencies to suspend payments to the agencies that profit by redistributing tax money to people from Syria.
Pence took that prompt and decisive action after it was revealed that at least one of the Muslim terrorists who massacred 130 people in Paris, France on November 13 had slipped into that country by posing as a Syrian refugee. Pence also relied on the October 21 testimony of FBI Director James Comey before the House Committee on Homeland Security.
Comey told Congress that it’s simply not possible to vet Syrian refugees adequately because there are no reliable documents or databases for those people. “We can query our database until the cows come home, but there will be nothing show up because we have no record of them.”
For Pence’s swift action to protect American citizens against the demands of foreigners, he was sued by one of the agencies that spends our tax money to resettle refugees. On February 29, an Obama-appointed federal judge named Tanya Walton Pratt blocked Pence’s order on the absurd basis that he was discriminating against Syrian refugees on the basis of their national origin.
Governor Pence appealed the Obama judge’s decision on April 11. Contrary to the claim that our government spends two years vetting Muslim refugees for terrorist sympathies before letting them in, Pence’s brief quoted an April 7 story by the Associated Press reporting “While the resettlement process usually takes 18 to 24 months, the surge operation will reduce the time to three months.”
Pence has tweeted his opposition to a complete Muslim ban, but he may change his mind by checking the polls. A series of recent polls proves that most Americans strongly or somewhat support temporarily banning all Muslims from entering our country.
In just the last month, a Reuters/Ipsos poll, an NBC News-SurveyMonkey poll, a Morning Consult poll, and a Fox News poll all found that Americans support Donald Trump’s proposal even if they don’t support him. These polls show that substantial numbers of Democrats, African-Americans, and people who voted for Obama in 2012 support a temporary ban on Muslims or people from Muslim-majority countries.
Those polls were completed before the most recent terrorist horror in Nice, France, which resulted in the mass murder of 84 and the injury of 200 more, when Mohamed Bouhlel intentionally ran over them with his truck. The terrorist’s apparent targeting of women, children, and families as he drove his truck in zigzag fashion to kill them has horrified millions.
The threat of terrorism is not the only reason to stop the refugees, who are bringing tuberculosis (TB) in both its active and latent varieties. TB is one of six “comeback” diseases that had been virtually wiped out in our country but are returning with refugees; the others are measles, mumps, whooping cough, scarlet fever, and bubonic plague.
The same judge ruled against another of Pence’s most important initiatives. On June 30, she issued a preliminary injunction against an Indiana law signed by Governor Pence that bans abortion solely for the reason of the child’s sex, race or disability (including but not limited to Down syndrome).
In India and China, abortion of baby girls based on their gender results in a disproportionate number of births to baby boys. This provides an additional reason to oppose immigration from these countries, because we do not want any immigrant groups that have far more men than women.
The same judge who blocked Pence’s proper actions concerning refugees and abortion also ruled in 2011 that Indiana could not stop tax money going to Planned Parenthood. How does it happen that a single Obama-appointed judge can block the enforcement of a state legislature and governor?
Trump recently experienced firsthand the overreaching by federal judges when Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg lashed out against Trump in comments that she has since expressed regret for saying. Apologies aside, Justice Ginsburg’s comments illustrated how politicized the federal judiciary has become, and both Pence and Trump are on the same page in opposing the runaway federal judiciary.
