Lack of ‘Affirmation’ Is Child Abuse: New Biden Rule Applies Transgender Standard to Foster Care

Transgender orthodoxy may soon become a litmus test for parenthood, according to the logic of a new policy working its way through the Department of Health and Human Services under President Joe Biden.

A new rule in HHS’ Administration for Children and Families would apply the idea that any lack of “affirmation” constitutes a form of child abuse to foster care placements. Once that idea takes root in foster care, child protective services agencies might start applying it more broadly.

The rule would reinterpret the Social Security Act, which requires agencies to ensure that each child in foster care receives “safe and proper” care. The rule would lay out steps agencies must take to meet that requirement for “LGBTQI+ children,” defined as kids who “identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning, intersex, as well as children who are non-binary, or have non-conforming gender identity or expression.”

Before agencies place a child with a foster parent, known as a “provider,” that person must “establish an environment free of hostility, mistreatment, or abuse based on the child’s LGBTQI+ status;” receive training “to be prepared with the appropriate knowledge and skills to provide for the needs of the child related to the child’s self-identified sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression;” and must be able to “facilitate the child’s access to age-appropriate resources, services, and activities that support their health and well-being.”

As the Ethics and Public Policy Center’s Rachel Morrison pointed out for The Federalist Society, the rule does not define “hostility,” “mistreatment,” or “abuse.” However, it does clarify that “a provider who attempted to undermine, suppress, or change the sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression of a child, including through the use of so-called ‘conversion therapy,’ would not be a safe and appropriate placement.”

The proposed rule cites medical associations such as the American Psychological Association to claim that efforts to “undermine, suppress, or change” sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression “are not supported by evidence and have been rejected as harmful.”

The rule does not acknowledge that gender ideology has infiltrated these medical associations and that many doctors—including those who once embraced gender ideology—have warned against confusing children on their gender and putting them on a path to mutilating their own bodies.

Dr. Stephen B. Levine, a psychiatrist and early proponent of transgender medical interventions, joined and briefly helped lead the Harry Benjamin International Gender Dysphoria Association, which later became the World Professional Association for Transgender Health, the central medical group that organizations such as the American Psychiatric Association rely upon.

A member from 1974 to 2001, Levine served as chairman of the eight-member International Standards of Care Committee that issued the fifth version of the standards. He ultimately resigned his membership in 2002 upon concluding that the organization “had become dominated by politics and ideology, rather than by scientific progress.”

In a document opposing the use of Medicaid funding for experimental transgender medical interventions for children, Levine explains that “there is no consensus or agreed ‘standard of care’ concerning therapeutic approaches to child or adolescent gender dysphoria.” He notes that gender identity “is not biologically based” and “empirically not fixed for many individuals.”

Levine also warns that social transition “is a powerful psychotherapeutic intervention that radically changes outcomes” and makes it far less likely that young children will “desist” from a transgender identity.

Contrary to the transgender activists’ claims, many doctors have raised serious concerns about the long-term effects of “gender-affirming care.” Cross-sex hormones can weaken children’s bones and make them more prone to heart disease. So-called puberty blockers, often billed as fully reversible, involve introducing a disease into a child’s body and make puberty harder to start again, should the child change his or her mind.

European countries, long considered more “progressive” than the U.S., have found a lack of evidence for medical interventions on children and are recommending a “watchful waiting” approach for minors.

Ultimately, gender ideology rests on the claim that a nebulous gender identity is more important than an individual’s biological sex. If a biological male claims to identify as female, society must consider him a woman and allow him to enter women’s restrooms, prisons, and sports teams, even though some men pose a threat to women in intimate situations and enjoy biological advantages in many sports. Similarly, this ideology encourages bodily alterations to make a male appear female and vice versa, despite the lack of evidence that such interventions actually improve well-being over the long haul.

This idea is particularly harmful for children who are just learning what it means to be male or female. If a boy likes to play with Barbie dolls, that does not mean he is really a girl. If a girl likes to play with G.I. Joes, that does not mean she is really a boy. Yet the ideology behind transgender identity urges parents to abandon all sanity and declare that such kids are transgender.

Before you object, think about how nebulous “gender identity” actually is. It doesn’t rely on a specific set of standards that may be verified objectively. Instead, it relies on an individual’s claim that he or she experiences painful and persistent dissonance between an “identity” and his or her biology. Any attempt to resolve this dissonance through mainstream talk therapy is ipso facto a form of “conversion therapy” to be condemned as “harmful.”

Yet Levine argues that “affirming” a transgender identity is a “powerful psychotherapeutic intervention” that will set kids on the path to mutilation and sterilization—long before they have any concept about what their own fertility means.

Under Biden’s proposed new rule, any potential foster parent who aims to protect a child from this confusion and damage may soon face expulsion from the program. That means the process will be designed to weed out guardians who actually would take good care of the kids and enable guardians who would assist in harming them.

In this topsy-turvy world, biology takes a back seat to a child’s insistence that he or she is really the opposite sex, even if the child might just as well identify as Queen Elsa of Arendelle or a Tyrannosaurus rex.

The rule justifies this by claiming that kids in the foster care system are more likely to identify as LGBTQI+, i.e. to face gender confusion. This means they are more vulnerable to the damage of gender ideology, not less. They need someone to protect them from “gender-affirming care,” and Biden seems dead set on preventing that.

Sadly, the HHS rule is not the first time Americans have faced this type of policy. In my home state of Virginia, state Del. Elizabeth Guzman, a Democrat, supports a bill to expand the definition of “child abuse” to include disagreement with gender ideology.

California’s Democratic governor, Gavin Newsom, signed a bill turning California into a “sanctuary state” for “gender-affirming care,” which the law defines as an absolute right. The law gives California courts the ability to award custody over a child if someone removes the child from his or her parents in another state in order to obtain such “care” for that child despite the parents’ disagreement.

Ultimately, Americans cannot have it both ways. Either it is child abuse to deny a child’s transgender identity, or it is child abuse to encourage experimental medical alterations that will leave that child stunted, scarred, and infertile.

Those on the Left seem hell-bent on forcing gender ideology in the name of safety, and Americans need to stand up and say, “No.”

Thankfully, HHS’ Administration for Children and Families must read every single written comment that concerned Americans send in on the rule. Americans may make their voices heard by submitting comments at this link.

Transgender Suspect Threatens to Rape Christian Girls, Inject HIV in People Wearing Crosses, Copycat Nashville Shooting

Another shocking news story the media won’t cover because the perp is a member of the left’s protected client class.

Transgender suspect threatens to rape Christian girls, inject HIV in people wearing crosses, copycat Nashville shooting: Feds

By: Blaze, November 24, 2023:

A transgender individual threatened to rape Christian schoolgirls, inject HIV into people wearing crosses, and carry out a copycat of the Nashville Christian Covenant School shooting, according to federal authorities.

Jason Lee Willie – a biological male who identifies as Alexia N. Willie – was charged on Nov. 7 with 14 felony counts of interstate communication of a threat to injure.

Willie – a 47-year-old from Nashville, Illinois – allegedly made the macabre threats in online videos and during streaming video calls.

In a ghastly threat from Illinois to Virginia, Willie purportedly vowed to commit a school shooting.

“We’re out here walking into your school, shooting your children, and I’m going to tell you right now, I’m gonna be one of them and the FBI isn’t gonna stop me, but I’m gonna kill your children out here,” Willie declared, according to the indictment.

“There’s a lot of transgenders out here that are tired of being picked on and we’re going to go into the schools and we’re going to kill their f***ing children out here, and that’s the end of it. We’re at war,” Willie reportedly said.

Willie allegedly made a subtle threat to carry out a copycat shooting like the one executed in March by a transgender individual who killed three children and three adults at the Christian Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee.

“A person in Tennessee walked into one of your schools and shot up a bunch of your Christian daughters,” Willie purportedly said. “That’s not the last of them…..

Ken Paxton Amidst a Witch Hunt of Legal Storms and Political Crossfires

This is nothing but a witch hunt, and yet again, Ken Paxton, Texas’s Attorney General, finds himself at the epicenter of a protracted legal saga.  But Paxton stands resilient. Beyond a victim’s perceptions, Paxton himself contends that these charges, dating back to 2011, are fabricated. As the narrative unfolds, and as a keen observer navigating through the storm, my perspective sheds light on Paxton’s position as both a victim of political attacks and a target of an insidious agenda, challenging the prevailing narrative.

At the heart of the controversy lies the presumption of innocence until proven guilty, a foundational principle of our justice system. Rather than viewing legal challenges as evidence of wrongdoing, they are seen as an integral part of a fair process, underscoring the importance of due process in pursuing justice.

The absurd claim is that Paxton defrauded investors by allegedly encouraging them to fund a tech startup. The twist lies in the assertion that, unbeknownst to the investors, Paxton was receiving financial compensation for promoting the venture. Despite these serious allegations, Paxton has pleaded not guilty, maintaining his innocence in the face of legal turmoil.

Paxton unequivocally asserts that the charges against him, which have lingered since 2011, are entirely fabricated. Despite the passage of time, he contends that the statutes of limitations on certain issues have been exceeded while simultaneously arguing that the laws in question were never applicable to him in the first place.

Instances of politically motivated attacks form a pervasive theme in the landscape. Paxton, targeted for his political stance, finds himself entangled in a web of calculated assaults that go beyond genuine legal concerns. The sheer number of these instances paints a vivid picture of a political battleground where Paxton is a key player.

Beyond the legal intricacies, Paxton’s tenure as Texas Attorney General is marked by positive contributions that extend far beyond the courtroom drama. His impact resonates in policy initiatives, legal actions, and positive outcomes attributed to his leadership, offering a nuanced perspective that transcends the legal battles.

Amidst the legal maelstrom, concerns loom large regarding fair treatment in both the media and the legal system. The bias witnessed in public discourse becomes a rallying point, fostering a sense of solidarity among those who perceive Paxton’s treatment as unjust and influenced by a narrative that borders on a subversion of facts.

Beyond the courtroom battles, Paxton’s legal disputes are viewed as instruments in a larger political game, part of a broader effort to undermine him politically. This perspective unveils a strategic dimension to the legal challenges, shaping the narrative of a political chessboard where Paxton is a major player ensnared in an unjustified imbroglio of deceptive moves.

Paxton’s resilience and determination, far from mere persistence, are hailed as defining traits. His ability to continue serving despite legal challenges is seen as a testament to his capacity to overcome adversity and emerge stronger. In the context of heightened scrutiny, these traits take on added significance.

Amidst the legal intricacies and the specter of a witch hunt, our trust in the legal process remains a steadfast guiding principle. We fervently hope for a fair resolution where truth prevails, shaping our overall perspective and influencing how we interpret the unfolding legal proceedings against Paxton.

Moreover, in an email circulated to his supporters shortly after the charges were made public, Paxton expressed confidence in his eventual vindication. Anticipating a thorough examination of the case, he articulated his expectation to be fully exonerated once the complete facts come to light.

As the legal odyssey unfolds, Ken Paxton has introduced a layer of defiance against the accusations. From his vantage point, these charges are baseless and part of a broader narrative that he expects will ultimately reveal his innocence. In the complex interplay of legal intricacies, political attacks, and the currently unfolding saga, Paxton remains resolute in his plea of not guilty, awaiting a full examination of the facts to clear his name.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s tireless campaign and forthright exposition of his vision assure the electorate and voters that the best-qualified public servant is at the helm in the office of the Attorney General. We can’t allow him to stand alone at this crucial moment.

And as the Court of Criminal Appeals takes center stage, the narrative of defending Ken Paxton is not just a legal battle; it’s a resolute belief in the innocence, resilience, and positive contributions of a public figure navigating a storm of unjust controversies and, of course, a political witch hunt.

The Theatrics of American Politics Reeks of Reality TV

Power dynamics, policy debates, and public perception intertwine in the conundrum of American politics, where, I believe, there is a persistent undercurrent of skepticism regarding the authenticity of political discourse. It might be possible that politicians, regardless of party affiliations, may share language coaches, orchestrating a grandiose performance akin to a reality TV show. This extreme thinking might challenge the conventional understanding of political dynamics and, therefore, posit that the adversarial nature of American politics may be nothing more than an elaborate charade.

Now let’s have a peek at the shared language coach puzzle with a perception that unveils the intricacies of political discourse and invites us to question whether the carefully crafted communication strategies employed by the new crop of upcoming politicians like Vivek Ramaswamy contribute to a more nuanced understanding of politics and governance or serve as a veil that obscures the true nature of their intentions and behind-the-scene collaborations.

On a hunch, both Democrats and Republicans may be engaging in a collective effort to refine their communication skills through shared language coaches. This notion raises questions about the apparent animosity displayed between political opponents. Could these individuals collaborate to craft a compelling narrative beneath the surface, playing different roles in a carefully choreographed spectacle?

To understand what’s currently unfolding in American politics, or perhaps what has been present for a long time, we need to examine the Good Cop, Bad Cop perspective with a discerning eye, recognizing the hidden interplay of political strategies, alliances, and the potential shared objectives that may lie beneath the surface of apparent ideological conflicts.

The concept of politicians playing “good cop, bad cop” is not new. Still, the idea of it being a coordinated act adds a layer of intrigue to the current political landscape, including what’s happening in Texas right now. Thus, do we need to understand that politicians alternate between roles, presenting the illusion of fierce ideological battles while secretly working together behind closed doors? This dynamic could be a strategic maneuver to maintain public interest, perpetuating the illusion of a divided nation while concealing a more unified reality.

The notion of a reality TV paradigm in US politics arises from a video that has surfaced, where Vivek Ramaswamy, a Republican presidential candidate, is seen plagiarizing Barack Obama’s speech during a GOP debate. The line in question is: “So let me just address a question that is on everybody’s mind at home tonight: who the heck is this skinny guy with the funny last name, and what the heck is he doing in the middle of this debate stage?” Ramaswamy said this line at the beginning of the debate.

The line was originally from a speech Obama gave at the Democratic National Convention in July 2004. Obama spoke about hope in his speech, which would become the centerpiece of his White House bid. He said: “The hope of a skinny kid with a funny name who believes that America has a place for him, too.”

Reality television has become dominant in modern entertainment, shaping narratives, manipulating emotions, and blurring the lines between fiction and reality. What if American politics, too, has, by design or otherwise, adopted elements of this genre? From what I see happening all around, I do get the feeling that politicians are not just participants in the political process but actors in a grandiose reality TV show, where the stakes are not just policy decisions but the perception of power and influence.

This is all about the allure of spectacle, where the orchestrated drama, scripted narratives, and theatrical performances within the political arena try to keep the audience captivated, shaping perceptions and overshadowing substantive issues. The allure of spectacle distracts the public from underlying issues and fosters a sense of unpredictability, keeping viewers engaged in the ongoing political drama.

While the idea of American politics as a shared reality TV show may seem extreme, for now, it raises important questions about the nature of political discourse and the authenticity of public narratives. Evidence supporting such a theory may need to be made clearer. Still, the observed understanding challenges us to reconsider the motivations behind political actions and the potential influence of entertainment culture on the political landscape. Whether this theory holds water or not, its very existence underscores the need for a critical and discerning public capable of seeing through the interplay of politics, media, and entertainment in the 21st century.

Communist Cuban Dictatorship Embraces Hamas

The Communist dictator of Cuba, President Miguel Díaz-Canel led a march along Havana’s boardwalk on November 23rd 2023 demanding an end to the war between Israel and Hamas and freedom for Palestinians.

Díaz-Canel was accompanied by Cuba’s Communist dictatorship administrators including Prime Minister Manuel Marrero and Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez.

None of these people have been legitimately elected in free elections by the citizens of Cuba.

It’s interesting that these Communist Cuban dictators are marching for freedom for people other than for their own citizens who are prisoners of the Cuban Communist Party which they represent.

So the Communist government of Cuba supports Palestinian freedom of religion while it has a tight control on all of its own religious institutions and closely monitors and controls individual freedoms of religion in Cuba. Such hypocrites.

The Communist dictatorship of Cuba also arbitrarily detains Cuban citizens and harasses critics and jails and censors political opponents. Much like Hamas does in the Gaza Strip. Much like the Biden Administration does in the United States.

This march was not in support of freedom for Palestinians it was in solidarity with Hamas an evil malfeasance, a satanic force intent on wiping out the Jewish population from the face of the earth.

Cuba’s dictatorship has a serious problem with Jews

On Oct. 7 Hamas terrorists killed more than 1,300 Israelis, wounding over 3,360, and launching over 6,300 rockets. Hamas raiders entered Israel, murdering, raping, and kidnapping civilians. In a formal statement released that same day, the Cuban Foreign Ministry blamed Israel and its “accomplice,” the U.S., for the violence. In so doing, it continues to spread a false narrative that originates in Soviet-era anti-Israel propaganda.Cuban officials have been meeting over the last year with high-ranking officials from Iran and Hamas. Iran’s Foreign minister Hossein Amirabdollahian visited Cuba and met with Cuban president Miguel Diaz-Canel on Feb. 5 “for talks on issues of mutual interest and international topics,” according to a statement from the Islamic Republic’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On Feb. 25, Middle East Monitor reported that a Hamas delegation publicly visited the Cuban Ambassador in Lebanon. In that meeting, Ambassador Jorge Leon Cruz recognized “the legitimate right of the Palestinians to defend their land….The Palestinians are fighting for a just cause.”

On June 15, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi publicly met with his Cuban counterpart, Miguel Diaz-Canel, in Havana.

In short, both the terrorist group Hamas and its chief patron, Iran, have close relations with Cuba’s communist regime. The Cuban dictatorship aids terrorists in the Middle East, allows Hezbollah to maintain a base in Cuba, and provides intelligence to Hamas.

The Cuban dictatorship also has a history of domestic antisemitism. Cuban officials in 2019 barred Jewish children from wearing kippahs in school. Fidel Castro in 1994 prohibited the importation of kosher meat into Cuba, despite allowing Halal food, which complies with Islamic dietary laws. Castro supported the 1975 UN resolution equating Zionism with racism and opposed its repeal in 1991.

The Latest Horror Inflicted on Jan 6th Victim by Democrat Despots

A D.C. judge who found a J6 defendant guilty at bench trial yesterday warned the defendant (who has two special needs children) not to use the money his wife raised in GiveSendGo account.

This is so enraging – more so because our elected officials stand by playing with their puds and look the other way.

Julie Kelly, who is a righteous warrior and singular individual in this fight:

Yesterday, Judge Chris Cooper convicted Jeremy Groseclose of nonviolent offenses for J6. At the behest of DOJ, Cooper then warned Groseclose, who has 2 special needs children, not to spend money his common law wife raised to help their family.

Ivy Leaguer Chris Cooper, who married a top chief of Eric Holder at a ceremony presided over by Merrick Garland, wants to deny this family, already financially ruined, from spending money she raised from private individuals.

The line prosecutor asked Cooper to take Groseclose into custody right away—a man convicted of no violent crime with 2 small children right before Thanksgiving.

How can we send money to his family directly?

The United States of America or the United Nations Which Will You Choose?

Congress worked so hard to screw we the people once again, they had to take a break. What could be better at least they are not in DC spending on money on things to destroy us. So they are at home having a Happy Thanksgiving.  Are they worried about high gas prices, or making ends meet on a paycheck that hardly buys anything anymore, or paying that mortgage with their second job? No they are just going to tap into their donors and get all the money they need, while they spend our money on useless items that guarantee America’s destruction.

I never saw a bigger bunch of thieves than those bobbleheads clapping for a dictator XI at their $40,000 a plate dinner using money they stole from We The People. But at least we did hear some good news it seems as though the liberal Jews have finally realized that giving money to organizations that hate you will get you killed. Let us hope they have actually stopped. 15 years ago when I discovered that a form of Marxism called Sustainability was dominant in college courses, I asked my University if they were sustainable AKA communist.  When they told me yes, I told them never to call me again and ask for a donation. Sadly it took 15 years and billions more dollars for the Jews to realize that they had just become useful idiots of the communist regime and were assisting in the Marxist takeover of their country.

It always amazed me that the billionaires are the first ones to give to organizations that are based on destruction of their country, or industry.  If they hate America so much, and we are so horrible, then just find another country and Good-bye. Then I realized they must be doing this to eliminate the competition and make more money while accumulating more power.  Look at who is funding the Palestinian riots.  Why the billionaire donor from Code Pink of course. Do these useful idiot rioters realize that all those signs saying gays for Palestine would get them killed if they actually went to GAZA. They are putting a noose around their own necks and stepping off the chair themselves. It is so sad to see the young people fight for a group of people that considers them as trash (infidels) and would sooner have them killed. Imagine if these same useful idiots fought for the country that gave them all the opportunity to amass the riches that they dreamed about. Ah the power of propaganda.

My real concern comes from what has happened this past week that most people have not connected the dots nor understand the depth of destruction we are about to face as our legislators legislate nothing worthwhile to help We The People. Those of you that think that any of these keebler elves will do anything other than add to the destruction of America should come down from the planet you not occupy cuz it’s not going to happen

Nikki Haley wants endless wars. She also thinks the Feds should control the  internet by forcing the carriers to turn over their algorithms and the people to expose their identity.  Say something the government doesn’t like and lose social credits of your CDBC card. She shouldn’t even be on that stage as she is NOT a natural born citizen.

Ron DeSantis lied to the people of Florida, got a law changed so he could run for office while being a part time governor with a full time salary. Of course nobody talks to Floridians. Our energy policy written by his donors Duke Energy and FPL  guarantees billions to China for useless solar panels and wind farms that are only accessible and useful 5.5 hours a day instead of using the abundant natural gas that we have. Our electric costs are up 30%. The insurance rates given to his insurance donors are now off the charts. For a simple home people are paying over $3,000. The state of course is now being overrun with illegals who will be living in those high-rises that he has allowed the developers to develop in their 15 minute cities which will be the new norm.

Our show this week will focus on 2 important topics: The OBiden take over of the internet which will eventually be turned over to the United Nations. UNESCO already has it guideline for total tyranny and control of language. This started in 2016 under Obama when he gave control of ICANN – the internet management of Addresses and Domain Names to a group of stakeholders and the UN, sighting failure to protect online activity as the cause.

UNESCO recently produced guidelines for Internet use. About 150 guidelines. UNESCO is committed to assisting Member States, civil society, and major digital players in embracing this text, so that platform operations fully align with our values and international human rights standards. Let us remain focused on our goal: combating hate speech and misinformation while preserving freedom of expression. Who’s values? Who’s goals?

Controlling the conversation through big tech and the media enable election manipulation so their people get in office. Hidden in the Infrastructure and Jobs Act recently passed without being read, OBiden look control of the internet through FCC regulations. Any Republican signing that bill should be primaried out of existence.

Read FCC Commissioner Carr’s letter of opposition to more government control. If this is implemented there will be no more free speech :

The Arab world has come together. Islam is now teaching how evil the West is and all they have to do is cite what we have done to ourselves.  The Koran says being gay is a criminal offense punishable by death. They tell their Muslim followers the West is anti-family, anti-god, anti-country which makes it easy to hate the Western ideology The Woke policies have destroyed the very fiber of the West and guess what that makes the Muslims right.

Listen to our show this week:  Alex Newman talks about what will happen if we allow OBiden to control the internet. We must pressure congress. Clare Lopez will talk about the facts of Islam.

Everything is connected. Nothing is random, Everything has a plan. All plans are lies. All Globalists want is MONEY, POWER, CONTROL Don’t give them yours. Challenge them with the truth. Doing Nothing is affirmation.

Is The U.S. Army Caught Up In A Push To Rewrite History?

  • The Army may be caught in a wave of efforts to atone for past systemic racism in the United States, exemplified in the plans to scrub Confederate references from Army sites, experts told the Daily Caller News Foundation.
  • However, a recent move to correct service records and grant clemency to more than 100 black soldiers charged in a 1917 riot was justified and likely not driven by an effort to rewrite history.
  • “Is this based on evidence that was presented to the Board of Corrections that showed discrimination, or is this a further attempt to rewrite history and ignore something that was a historical fact that historically happened? I think those are great questions to ask,” military attorney Davis Younts told the DCNF.

The U.S. Army may not have set out to rewrite its history of race relations, but recent changes to memorials, base names and service records suggest it has been swept up in a broader agenda to right perceived historical wrongs, experts told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Secretary of the Army Christine Wormuth approved overturning convictions of 110 black soldiers on charges related to a 1917 mutiny and changing their service records to show that they received honorable discharges from the Army in a ceremony on Nov. 13, according to a press release. Experts wondered whether it was the Biden administration’s commitment to social justice compelling the Army to take a major step following a yearlong drive to scrub racially offensive references from Army sites.

“Is the Army trying to rewrite history? I don’t believe it set out to do that specifically. However, it is actively participating in the progressive effort to rewrite our vision of the past at the national level,” Chase Spears, a former Army public affairs officer, told the DCNF.

“The court-martials of these soldiers were rife with significant errors,” William Woodruff, legal counsel at the Center for Military Readiness and a former law professor and Army JAG chief, told the DCNF. “I would characterize this as an attempt to set right a grievous past error and not an effort to re-write history. While the over emphasis on [Diversity, Equity and Inclusion/DEI] may have been a catalyst to look at these cases more closely, I don’t think it is an example of DEI run amok.”

Historians convinced the Army that racial prejudice interfered in the judicial proceedings, leading to a number of irregularities, The Wall Street Journal reported. Soldiers assigned to the all-black 3rd Battalion, 24th Infantry Regiment — later to become known as the Buffalo Soldiers — suffered under severe Jim Crow segregation and hostility when they ventured into Houston, the Texas State Historical Association wrote, citing previous scholarship and news reports.

“After a thorough review, the Board has found that these Soldiers were wrongly treated because of their race and were not given fair trials,” Wormuth said in the press release.

Historians John Haymond and former South Texas College of Law professor Dru Brenner-Beck co-wrote the petition precipitating the Army’s decision to review and amend records for the 110 Black soldiers implicated in the 1917 riot, according to the WSJ.

“It’s not political,” Haymond told the DCNF in an interview.

“There will be some people who say this is wokeism, or you’re attempting to excuse people who committed murder, there’s never any excuse for mutiny, American soldiers should never take up arms against their own population. I understand all that because I’ve felt all of that,” he added.

While prior “activist” approaches to the case arguing from institutional racism have not been successful, Haymond said he was able to prove “the Army violated its own legal processes.”

Army Board for Correction of Military Records in recent years reviewed the convictions and recommended vacating them, according to the Army.

Several months after the U.S. declared war on Germany during World War I, the soldiers were assigned to Houston along with seven white officers to guard the construction site for the Army’s Camp Logan training site, the WSJ reported, citing contemporary news reports.

In August, two policemen arrested a black soldier for interfering in the arrest of a black woman. Cpl. Charles Baltimore, a black military policeman in the 3rd Battalion, inquired about the incident, and one of the policeman bludgeoned him on the head after a verbal exchange.

Police fired at him three times as he fled; they caught and detained him for a short time, the TSHS wrote. But a rumor had already spread that the white policeman had killed Baltimore.

Battalion Commander Maj. Kneeland S. Snow ordered first sergeants to gather weapons and ammunition, anticipating conflict, according to the TSHS. Then an unnamed soldier shouted that a mob of white people was approaching the camp. The black soldiers, in a panic, grabbed rifles and began firing in the direction of the supposed mob. A non-commissioned officer, Sgt. Vida Henry, led more than 100 of the soldiers in the direction of downtown Houston.

By the end of the night, they had killed 15 white people, including civilians, and wounded 12 more. Two soldiers died from friendly fire incidents and two others died; Henry committed suicide, although Haymond said an unearthed coroners report disputes that finding.

The generally accepted narrative of the incident was that the black soldiers marched toward Houston thirsting for revenge, Haymond told the DCNF. But his research, drawing from police and Army records of the time, shows that that most soldiers believed they were following legal orders from the senior noncommissioned officer after commanders fled the camp. Once it became clear the formation was not defending against an angry mob, most turned back.

The Army made defendants prove they had never left the camp, reversing the burden of guilt on to the soldiers, Haymond explained.

Between Nov. 1, 1917, and March 26, 1918, the Army held three separate courts-martial proceedings and found 110 soldiers guilty of participating in the riot, the TSHS wrote. Courts sentenced 19 of the soldiers to death by hanging and 63 to life in prison.

“Somewhere in that group are men who rightly should have been court-martialed as individuals. But the government never built a case against them, never even identified who they were,” Haymond told the DCNF. “The ability to distinguish who is truly guilty from amongst the innocent is one of the greatest failings.”

Military attorney Davis Younts, without having seen all of Haymond and Brenner-Beck’s research, agreed that circumstantial evidence suggests racial bias drove how the cases of the soldiers were handled. However, the timing of the Army’s decision to revisit the issue more than 100 years after the soldiers were convicted — a case that Younts said had been largely uncontroversial and studied mainly for the role it played in supporting arguments against near-immediate executions — raises a question of the true motives behind the Army initiative.

“The Secretary of the service has extraordinary authority to do things like overturn convictions and grant clemency. This process has been in place for a long time. So it’s not as if it couldn’t have been done before,” Younts told the DCNF.

“Is this based on evidence that was presented to the Board of Corrections that showed discrimination, or is this a further attempt to rewrite history and ignore something that historically that was a historical fact that historically happened? I think those are great questions to ask,” he said.

The Army in recent months has hardened its stance on race and gender in response to Congressional pressure, arguing minorities have been unfairly marginalized from military service.

The changes come on the heels of a broader reckoning in American society with slavery and the discrimination that persisted after slavery was abolished. Following the death of George Floyd at the hands of a white policeman, Congress embarked on a campaign to purge Confederate references from military sites.

Floyd’s murder prompted nationwide riots and a wave of efforts to renegotiate the present to account for past racial discrimination or harm.

“No question this is happening as a consequence of the George Floyd murder and the fallout from those events,” retired Lt. Col. Thomas Spoehr, the former director of the Heritage Foundation’s Center for National Defense, told the DCNF.

In October, the Army completed a year-long process of renaming nine U.S. bases previously designated after Confederate leaders. Congress had established a commission to identify any references honoring the Confederacy and recommend ways to remove them, overriding a veto by former President Donald Trump to do so.

The Army “was fully onboard and supported the effort,” Spoehr told the DCNF.

“I never understood why we had bases named after mediocre Confederate generals like Bragg or Polk,” he said. But other examples, like taking down historical panels at West Point, the proposal to scrap the reconciliation monument at Arlington National Cemetery and removing paver stones from the Ranger Memorial at Fort Moore (formerly Fort Benning), “went too far,” he said.

“That is erasing history,” Spoehr said.

‘It is madness, it is delusional, to think that a representative of the people is above the people themselves.’

As most Americans are focused on the holiday season, there is something happening in Argentina and in Holland that is extraordinary.

In these two countries Javier Milei and Geert Wilders, two MAGA like/Drain the Swamp, leaders have been elected as the President of Argentina and Prime Minister of the Netherlands.

These two men are populists who love their countries. They were elected to return power back to their people. All they want is peace and prosperity for all.

They  were elected by an overwhelming popular vote by the people of Argentina and the Netherlands.

Here’s the newly elected President Javier Milei of Argentina on X:

Watch Prime Minister Geert Wilders telling the truth.

Here is a post on X by Israeli politician Eli Cohen about Geert Wilders.

Both of these men believe that the power lies in the hands of the people. They both believe in freedom of choice, freedom of prosperity, freedom to live, love and care for themselves and their families.

Sound familiar?

It should. Here is what President Donald J. Trump said during his inaugural address,

Today’s ceremony, however, has very special meaning. Because today we are not merely transferring power from one Administration to another, or from one party to another – but we are transferring power from Washington, D.C. and giving it back to you, the American People.

For too long, a small group in our nation’s Capital has reaped the rewards of government while the people have borne the cost.

Washington flourished – but the people did not share in its wealth.

Politicians prospered – but the jobs left, and the factories closed.

The establishment protected itself, but not the citizens of our country.

Their victories have not been your victories; their triumphs have not been your triumphs; and while they celebrated in our nation’s Capital, there was little to celebrate for struggling families all across our land.

That all changes – starting right here, and right now, because this moment is your moment: it belongs to you.

It belongs to everyone gathered here today and everyone watching all across America.

This is your day. This is your celebration.

And this, the United States of America, is your country.

What truly matters is not which party controls our government, but whether our government is controlled by the people.

January 20th 2017, will be remembered as the day the people became the rulers of this nation again.

The forgotten men and women of our country will be forgotten no longer.

Everyone is listening to you now.

Watch what President Trump said in his Farewell Address:

The Bottom Line

Do your feel that your government is lying to you? Watch this speech by Tucker Carlson on X,

As we approach New Years Day 2024, we the people must commit ourselves to returning power back to the people—forever.

November 5th, 2024 will be a seminal day in America. Will the American people vote to bring back power to we the people?

We pray that they do!

Confessions of a Different Kind of Democrat

David Carlin: The moral and intellectual leadership of the Democratic Party has fallen into the hands of ultra-radical “progressives” who are the sworn enemies of decency and common sense.

I used to be a good Democrat.  I was a Democratic elected official, serving twelve years in the Rhode Island Senate, two of those as majority leader.  I was even a Democratic candidate for the US House of Representatives, being trounced (alas!) in November of 1992.

But that was a long time ago.  I was a different kind of Democrat than the kind typical in the party today.  When I was born Franklin Roosevelt was president.  I still think of him as the ideal Democrat.  I also think very well of Harry S. Truman and John  F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson.

It was abortion that drove me out of the Democratic Party.  I have always thought of abortion as a kind of homicide.  The party increasingly embraced the doctrine of abortion “rights” – the right to kill very young human beings.  For a long time, I imagined it was possible to be a pro-life Democrat in a pro-abortion party.  I abandoned that fantasy sometime in the 1990s as I became convinced that being pro-abortion was an essential element of being a Democrat.

My alienation from the party began with abortion but it grew greater and greater with same-sex marriage and other things.  Today I am so alienated that I am willing to vote for Donald Trump, not my ideal, in order to keep a Democrat out of the White House.

In the old days (back in the 1920s,1930s, and 1940s), if you were a good Communist, you had to be morally and intellectually flexible.  Which is to say, you had to be ready, often at a moment’s notice, to change your most important political beliefs in order to keep in step with the latest version of the “party line.”

Comrade Stalin had a knack for sudden changes in the party line.  But the typical Communist was loyal to the party, and Stalin was the Mind and Heart and Soul of the party. And so, when the Great Helmsman changed the party line, the good Communist was able to make the needed mental and moral adjustments.

But this wasn’t always easy.  Sometimes it was so difficult that certain Communists, rather to their own astonishment, were unable to make the adjustments.  The most famous instance of such a hard-to-swallow alteration – or rather, 180-degree reversal – of the party line came in August of 1939 when Communists all over the world woke up one fine day to learn that Nazi Germany, until yesterday the most hideous of all enemies, was now a friend of the Soviet Union.  Comrade Stalin and Herr Hitler had become pals.

This drove more than a few heartbroken Communists out of the party.  But most Communists remained, though dizzy with confusion.  Stalin couldn’t be wrong.  After all, he was the lineal and legitimate successor to Marx and Lenin, who were infallible.  Good Communists argued themselves into becoming supporters of the new arrangement, and they cheered for Hitler in his war against Britain and France.

The party line did another reversal less than two years later when Hitler invaded the USSR.

Today’s Democratic Party also has a party line that often changes.  The party has no equivalent or near equivalent to Comrade Stalin, no single person, and not even a small group of persons (a Politburo), who can order a change in the official line.  Changes are the results of a collective party spirit (the Holy Ghost of the Democratic Party, so to speak).  We learned that the party has changed its line when mainstream journalists (the great majority of whom are fellow travelers of the party) announce that they have discovered this change.

  • The embrace of abortion rights. Most Democrats found this relatively easy to accept.  After all, the party believed in women’s rights.
  • The embrace of gay rights and same-sex marriage. This wasn’t hard to accept.  After all, shouldn’t everybody, including gays, be given equal treatment?
  • The belief that America is a “systemically” racist country and that almost all white people are racist. Many Democrats, especially older white Democrats, recoiled at this.  But you could persuade yourself, if you tried hard enough, that this new doctrine was no more than a slight modification of MLK’s (and LBJ’s) idea that blacks should have equal rights.
  • The belief in transgender rights. To date, this has proven to be tough for many rank and file Democrats to swallow.  Yet many party leaders, along with their journalistic fellow travelers, have converted themselves to transgender beliefs by arguing that this is no more than a slight modification of the already-accepted principle of equal rights for all, including sexual rights.
  • The belief in non-binary-ism. That is, the belief that many persons have no sex identity whatsoever, neither a born identity nor a chosen identity.  Many Democrats, and not just among the rank and file, are finding this, too, hard to swallow.
  • The belief that public libraries and public-school libraries should stock pornographic books for children to read. You can only convince yourself to believe this if you tell yourself that to do otherwise would be an instance of “book banning.”  If a librarian refuses to put on her shelves a book offering, e.g., charming illustrations of fellatio and cunnilingus, she is doing what Nazis did when they burned the writings of Einstein and Freud.
  • The belief that Israel is an illegitimate nation occupying stolen land; along with the corresponding belief that Jews generally, since most of them worldwide are in sympathy with Israel, share Israel’s shame and guilt. Many Democrats – though far from all – especially Jews, are finding it hard to go along with this belief.  Anti-Semitism is a bridge too far.

The moral and intellectual leadership of the Democratic Party has fallen into the hands of ultra-radical “progressives” who are the sworn enemies of decency and common sense.  Already they have ruined the Democratic Party – my dear old party.  Soon they may ruin the United States of America.

When the State Engages in Cancel Culture

Who comes to mind when criminal charges categorised under “war crimes and crimes against humanity” are levied? Likely a dictator, corrupt general, or other terrorist actor. But the world has been put on notice that even a grandmother and longstanding parliamentarian in Finland can fall prey to such odious charges when the state becomes ideologically committed to censorship.

“Hate speech” charges under the Finnish criminal code’s war crimes section for “agitation against a minority group” is what happened to the former Finnish Minister of the Interior, Päivi Räsänen, who has served as a parliamentary representative for nearly thirty years. On the basis of her simple and peaceful articulation of a Christian view of marriage and sexuality, Räsänen was criminally charged and dragged through the courts for over four years, beginning in 2019. If her case wasn’t such a serious warning shot to us all regarding the erosion of the basic human right to free speech, it would be laughable to consider that the legal persecution she faced started because of a tweet.

Policing scripture

As a devout Christian, Räsänen saw a discrepancy between the decision of her church’s leadership to officially sponsor the Helsinki Pride parade in 2019 and biblical teachings about marriage and sexuality. So, she penned a post on Twitter/X, accompanied by a photo of Bible verses from the book of Romans.

What followed was a total of 13 hours of police interrogations into Räsänen’s beliefs and interpretation of the Bible. The prosecution also dug up an almost 20-year-old church booklet that she had written about God’s design for marriage and human sexuality, in addition to pulling a couple of sentences from a live radio discussion that Räsänen had made on the topic in 2019. Lutheran bishop Juhana Pohjola was also charged with “hate speech” for publishing Räsänen’s booklet for his congregation.

Although the police recommended not to proceed with prosecution, the Finnish state Prosecutor General brought three charges against Räsänen in April 2021. At the trial before the District Court, the prosecutor presented Bible verses from the Old Testament with which she took issue, cross-examining Räsänen and the bishop on their theology. Thankfully, the District Court eventually handed down a commonsense decision fully and unanimously acquitting Räsänen and the bishop, stating that, “it is not for the District Court to interpret biblical concepts”.

Relentless

But this wasn’t the end of the ordeal. The prosecution appealed the ruling, dragging Räsänen before a higher court, and saddling the Finnish taxpayer with the cost. And last week, in a momentous victory for free speech, Räsänen and the bishop again were unanimously acquitted by the Helsinki Court of Appeal, which saw “no reason, on the basis of the evidence received at the main hearing, to assess the case in any respect differently from the District Court.”

While we may be tempted to take an “all’s well that ends well approach” with Räsänen and the bishop vindicated and the fundamental right to free speech upheld, we must not lose sight of the enormous toll taken as a consequence of the prosecution’s outrageous quest to silence and sanction peaceful expression.

Consider the burden Räsänen carried, including time spent, fees incurred, and the media storm she has had to weather trying to correct rampant lies about her views. Fortunately, the court has ordered the prosecution to cover the legal costs, but even so, for Räsänen and the bishop, the process has been the punishment.

And we can only begin to forecast the widespread chilling effect on the rest of society. Anyone who wants to express a view differing from current orthodoxies likely will proceed with caution lest they, too, fall victim to state-driven censorship.

Some might disagree with Räsänen’s convictions, as is and should be their right. But respect for disagreement is foundational to any healthy democracy, and protecting the principle of free speech is paramount. Vague and subjective “hate speech” laws, the likes of which were leveraged to shut down Räsänen, must be vigorously opposed. For so long as these laws stand, any of us could end up in this grandmother’s shoes, charged with “crimes” we hopefully can agree should be reserved for those who commit actual crimes against humanity, not peaceful Twitter posts.

Biden Admin Preparing To Finalize Barrage Of Methane Regulations

The Biden administration is gearing up to finalize a host of emissions rules and regulations in the coming months, E&E News reported Wednesday.

The rules and regulations are all focused on methane, a greenhouse gas that is more potent, but dissipates more quickly, than carbon dioxide, and align with the administration’s commitment to attacking climate change with a “whole-of-government” response. The Biden administration is aiming to finalize the slew of methane regulations in the coming months ahead of the 2024 election, which would make the rules more difficult for a potential Republican administration to scrap should President Joe Biden loseaccording to E&E News.

The White House is reviewing an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) final rule that would cut methane emissions from oil and gas production, refining, transport and storage, according to E&E News. The rule could be finalized on Dec. 2, when the U.S. hosts a methane summit with China and the United Arab Emirates at the upcoming United Nations climate conference.

The Biden administration and China committed to working together to control methane emissions last week, though the Chinese climate envoy has balked at calls to ditch fossil fuels and the country permitted an average of two new coal plants each week in 2022, according to the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air.

The EPA is also looking to finalize regulations for power plant and vehicle emissions in the coming months, according to E&E News. A separate EPA methane tax regulation from the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), Biden’s signature climate bill, is currently under White House review and due to become finalized early in 2024. The rule will be based on updated and more aggressive reporting standards.

Meanwhile, the administration is working with the European Union and other countries to craft new international standards to give low-methane natural gas privileged access to the European market, according to E&E News. While work on these standards is underway, it is unclear when they will become final.

The Department of Transportation (DOT) is working on a rule for pipelines for methane leak detection and repairs, according to E&E News. The agency had signaled that it would unveil the final rule in July, but it has not come out yet. The American Gas Association slammed the proposal as an example of “overreach” that sets “highly unrealistic” compliance timelines when the agency unveiled it in August.

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is also crafting a methane rule focused on leaks from oil and gas production on federal lands, according to E&E News. The final rule was supposed to be unveiled in September, but the White House has not yet reviewed it.

The Treasury Department is also working on tax credit eligibility guidelines for “green hydrogen” projects, according to E&E News. The guidelines for the sizable tax credits, made available for the IRA, will set the threshold for acceptable levels of upstream methane leaks from gas used to produce the hydrogen.

The White House, the EPA, the DOT, the Treasury Department and the BLM did not respond immediately to requests for comment.

‘Super Expensive’: NRCC Drops Video Targeting Dems For Thanksgiving Food Price Hikes

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) released a video Wednesday, first shared with the Daily Caller News Foundation, seeking to hold Democrats responsible for Thanksgiving food price increases ahead of 2024.

The online advertisement, titled “Thanksgiving in Biden’s America” and launched by the House GOP’s campaign arm, depicts how some of the feast’s staples “are more expensive again this year,” arguing that “you can thank Democrats” for the price increases. Local prices for canned cranberries, canned pumpkins and russet potatoes are all up 60%, 30% and 14%, respectively, since 2022, according to the NRCC.

“It’s super expensive and I’m sharing the cost with some of my siblings,” a grocery shopper can be heard saying in the video.

“Definitely more conscious about what we purchase,” another said.

WATCH:

Inflation has spiked under the Biden administration, which has been attributed by critics to record levels of government spending approved by Democrats. Biden signed the American Rescue Plan in 2021 authorizing $1.9 trillion in new funding for COVID-19 relief, as well as the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act, which added $750 billion to the deficit and sought to advance the president’s green energy agenda.

“Unsatisfied with their war on Christmas, extreme Democrats launched a war on Thanksgiving. That’s why your Thanksgiving meal costs skyrocketed,” Ben Smith, NRCC rapid response director, told the DCNF in a statement.

While the average cost for a Thanksgiving table of ten has decreased by 4.5% since 2022, the price is still up by 25% at $61.17 since 2019, according to a report from the American Farm Bureau Federation released Nov. 15. Last year’s average Thanksgiving feast saw a record-high price of $64.05 compared to $48.91 from before the COVID-19 pandemic.

The NRCC is seeking to expand its majority in the House by targeting 37 seats held by vulnerable Democrats, including several that will now be open in 2024 following a wave of departures in Michigan, Virginia and California.

CEASEFIRE BETRAYAL BEGINS: Biden Admin Warns It Might Not Support Next Phase of War Against Hamas

The White House says it won’t support Israel’s plan to expand its operations into the south of the Gaza Strip unless it shows it will protect the Palestinian civilians there.

Why didn’t Biden voice the same concern for Russian civilians? And why wasn’t Ukraine pressured into a ceasefire?

In a Tuesday press call, U.S. National Security Council Spokesman John Kirby said the United States won’t support Israel “moving forward with operations in the south absent a clearly articulated plan for how they’re going to protect the lives of the hundreds of thousands of people” there.

Betrayal – “The deal is a disaster.”

By: Vic Rosenthal, November 22, 2023:

The government of Israel has agreed to a stupid, shameful deal with Hamas. If the government continues along this path – and it seems almost certain to do so – it will mark the turning point of the war in Gaza. In retrospect, it will be seen as the point at which it became clear that Hamas will retain control of the Gaza strip.

The details of the deal, as I understand them this morning, are that Hamas will return some 50 of the 240 hostages they are holding, women and children. The Red Cross will be allowed to visit the remaining hostages. In return, Hamas will receive a cease-fire of four days, during which Israel agrees not to fly (I presume both drones and manned aircraft are included) over the northern part of Gaza for six hours each day. There will be no flights at all over the southern part. Israel has agreed to extend the cease-fire for an additional day for every ten hostages released. In addition, Israel will release some 150 to 300 Palestinian women and teenagers imprisoned in Israel for offenses less serious than murder. Israel will allow fuel and an increased amount of humanitarian goods to be brought into Gaza.

Not so bad, right? Wrong – it’s a disaster.

The IDF has been rolling up Hamas in Gaza. Another week or two of fighting would be decisive. It would liquidate Hamas’ military capability and civil control. All that would remain would be to mop up. What would happen next is a difficult question, but it will not be relevant if Hamas remains in control or retains significant military capability.

A cease-fire will allow Hamas to resupply its soldiers, to rebuild damaged communications systems, to reestablish the chain of command where key commanders (who were specifically targeted by the IDF) have been killed. It will allow them to reinforce their weak points and those places where they expect the IDF to attack. It will allow them to repair damaged systems for launching rockets. The no-fly restriction will allow them to move remaining hostages to more secure locations and extricate key personnel from areas where they are in danger without being tracked. At least some if not all of the fuel, food, and medicine that will be entering the Strip will be hijacked for Hamas’ purposes. Fuel in particular is needed to operate generators that supply power for ventilation of the tunnels where Hamas operatives live and from which they fight.

In short, a few days of cease-fire translate directly into a much longer extension of the war. From the start of the ground invasion on 27 October and until 20 November, 66 IDF soldiers have been killed in combat in Gaza (this of course is in addition to the 1200 civilians and soldiers killed on 7 October, and the unknown number of hostages who are no longer alive). For every day that the war is extended, IDF soldiers will be lost. And some of the toughest fighting is ahead.

It must be assumed that the international pressure to stop the war before Israel obtains her objectives will not go away; rather, it will probably increase as a result of the cease-fire. The obscene accusations of “genocide” will only become louder. There is concern that the cease-fire will expand, ultimately to become indefinitely long. The pressure on the Biden administration to force Israel to stop fighting will only grow.

The provision to release hostages in groups will present insupportable choices for the government: how will it be able to tell the families that have children or parents still in captivity that their family members will not be redeemed, when others have? Indeed, as long as Hamas has even one captive, their leverage will remain. The well-organized families of the hostages have underlined their – totally understandable, but also tragically wrong – contention that the primary goal of the war should be to return the hostages rather than to defeat Hamas, by blocking the main highway near Tel Aviv on Saturday night.

Indeed, this aspect of the deal is the most dangerous part of it. The first group of hostages will be traded for women and teen-aged terrorists without blood on their hands; but surely there will be more expansive demands made for the next group. The more hostages are freed, the harder it will become for the government to hold out against the pressure to give in to the increasingly severe demands of their captors. And Hamas has already announced that its objective is to obtain the release of all Palestinians held in Israeli prisons, including (especially) the worst of mass murderers.

Ariel Kahane, writing in Israel Hayom today, compared the choices facing the government to those facing the Judenraten in the Nazi-controlled ghettos, who were asked to provide lists of Jews to be deported to death camps, or see the entire ghetto liquidated.

If Hamas is not decisively defeated, it will encourage Hezbollah to increase the pressure in the north, as well as possibly to undertake a hostage-taking operation of its own. It will put the wind in the sails of Hamas and other terrorist factions in Judea and Samaria. It will send a message to Iran, and also to Israel’s hoped-for allies in the Arab world that Israel is weak, unable to stand up to extortion, and unable to defeat a force which is more akin to a terrorist militia than a real army. It will be a massive blow to our honor and therefore our deterrence.

In summary: this deal promises an extension of the war, which will cost Israel in the lives of the best of her young men. It will result in the release of numerous terrorists, most likely ultimately including the worst mass murderers, those who should not even be alive, rather than free to kill again. It will enable the “international community” to put the brakes on the IDF, both in the way it fights and in the time it is allowed to do so. It will, in my estimation, allow Hamas to remain in control of at least part of the Gaza Strip, and perhaps to retain some hostages for further leverage. It will encourage Israel’s enemies and damage her attempts to make allies in the Middle East.

Psychologically, it reinforces the false equivalence between kidnapped hostages and convicted terrorists. It legitimizes terrorism and hostage-taking – consider the absurdity that Israel has agreed to blind her eyes in the sky, because otherwise they might find the hostages and be able to rescue them!

The deal is a disaster, a surrender to the monsters of Hamas that murdered, tortured, and raped our people and who have said that they will do it again if given the chance. It is open-ended in a way that can only lead to even worse acts of appeasement.

Our young soldiers overwhelmed their commanders in their desire to fight; some reserve units didn’t have enough weapons for all of those who volunteered. They are fighting ferociously and heroically. As of yesterday, sixty-six of them will not go home to their families, and many others have been so severely wounded that they will never live normal lives. They were winning, and the decision taken by the government is nothing less than a betrayal.
