FACT CHECK: Biden Lies About Guns Killing More Kids Than Cars

I had already debunked this completely misleading claim from the CDC even before it spread widely and before Biden incorporated it into his gun control speech.

After the Uvalde school shooting, the CDC and the media are pushing a misleading claim that, “firearms were the leading cause of death for kids one and older for the first time in 2020.”

There’s no statistical reason for the CDC to group infants and teenagers together into the same category except to push a gun control agenda. 1-year-olds and 19-year-olds don’t have much in common when it comes to gun violence. And when the numbers are broken down, teenagers have catastrophically high murder and suicide rates, while babies are much less affected.

The CDC’s letter to the New England Journal of Medicine claims that “in 2020, firearm-related injuries became the leading cause of death” for “persons 1 to 19 years of age”.

The CDC buries the salient data in its appendix. It claims that the “increase was seen across most demographic characteristics”. Its own data however shows a massive increase among black teens and a fairly limited one among most other groups.

Nevertheless, in his gun control address, Biden pushed an even worse version of the same claim.

“According to new data just released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, guns are the number one killer of children in the United States of America.  The number one killer.  More than car accidents.”

Fairly few children are actually killed by guns.

Any statistical category that tops out at 19 years old obviously can’t be characterized as “children”. The majority of deaths in that category involve teenagers and gang activity.

NBC News’ fairly nuanced fact check makes the same point.

While gun and motor vehicle deaths increased substantially in 2020, the latest year final numbers were available, claims that more children and teens die due to guns than motor vehicles only hold up when 18- to 19-year-olds are included, a group that accounts for nearly as many gun deaths as  1 to 17-year-olds combined do, according to an NBC News analysis of data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The gap between vehicular deaths and firearm deaths is narrowing among 1 to 17-year-olds, and may close entirely, according to the CDC’s provisional and incomplete 2021 data…

Provisional data from 2021 shows a gap of 9 deaths separating vehicle fatalities from firearm deaths among children.

A key difference though is that while gun deaths are heavily concentrated among black teens in inner cities, car accidents are widely dispersed. This is the same issue as the mischaracterization of widespread AIDS risk in the eighties. The school shootings are the Ryan White of risk assessment. The data here is skewed by a very high rate of fatalities among a very narrow demographic.

The Johns Hopkins report on gun deaths in 2020 put out last month was much more revealing.

It had the numbers that should have been front and center at the CDC, such as, “In 2020, one out of every 1,000 young Black males (15–34) was shot and killed.”

Even though young black males only make up “2% of the total population”, they account for  “38% of all gun homicide fatalities” with a gun homicide rate “almost 21 times higher than white males of the same age group.”

“More than half of all black teens (15–19) who died in 2020—a staggering 52%—were killed by gun violence,” it shockingly observes.

So you have a very high death rate among 2% of the population that’s being narrative laundered to make it seem as if all of America’s kids are at risk.

Guns are the number one killer of black teens. But then again black men are unique in that they’re the only group for whom murder is the top cause of death.

Homicide doesn’t even make the CDC’s top 10 causes of death for men in America, but it’s number four for black men. In 2017, it caused 5% of the deaths of black men, more than strokes, diabetes, or most diseases. The only things more likely to kill black men than black-on-black crime are heart disease, cancer, and accidents.

Among black men under the age of 20, homicide is the leading cause of death at 35.3%.

It’s also the leading cause of death for black men from 20-44 years old at 27.6%.

Only at the age of 65 does homicide drop out of the top 10 causes of death for black men.

So all that the number Biden is quoting really tell us is that a population with high crime rates now has such a high death rate among teens that when combined with the general population, it distorts those numbers dramatically.

Children, thank G-d, do have fairly low death rates in America. And so that data set is the most vulnerable to statistical distortion which I’m sure the gun control advocates at the CDC knew when they decided to push these dishonest statistics.

This is also a reminder of why Republicans were right to block the CDC from doing any gun violence research. The CDC can’t be trusted and any gun violence research inevitably becomes dishonest advocacy for gun control.

Abortion Activists: How Far Will They Go?

We’re starting to see just how far abortion activists are willing to go to get their way.

Starting with violence.  A radical pro-abortion group claimed credit for the Molotov cocktail attack on a pro-life office in Wisconsin and promised “increasingly extreme tactics” ahead.  Pro-life workers received death threats after the attack.  Two hundred students surrounded two pro-life students at a high school in New Jersey, pushing and shoving them, and tearing down their signs.  Pro-abortion protesters in Los Angeles threw rocks and bottles at police, and beat one officer with his own baton.  So there you have it – abortion activists are even willing to attack the police to get their way.  Then you have politicians like Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot egging them on.  She issued a “call to arms” and urged citizens to rise up and “fight to victory” for abortion rights – no surrender.

Then there’s the vandalism.  Vandals spray-painted a Catholic church in Boulder with pro-abortion graffiti – “F- the Church”, “My Body, My Choice” and such and the like.  That’s just one report.  Other churches have been vandalized, too.  A pregnancy help center in Florida was vandalized over the Memorial Day weekend, with “If abortions aren’t SAFE then neither are you” spray-painted on the building.  This is just one report; many more many more pro-life organizations have been hit, recently.

So it’s not just spray paint; it’s intimidation, and it’s being attempted at the Supreme Court, too.  Illegal protests continue outside Supreme Court Justice’s homes, and the local Progressive DA won’t do anything to stop them.  Abortion activists are laying plans to shut down the Supreme Court building next Monday, to prevent the Justices from reaching their offices and issuing opinions.

Politicians in Progressive cities are signaling they won’t enforce state laws banning abortion if Roe v. Wade is overturned.  The cities include Austin, New Orleans, parts of Atlanta, Durham County in North Carolina, a Philadelphia suburb, Nashville’s county, and Fairfax, Virginia.  Sixty state and local officials pledged in 2020 not to prosecute abortion if Roe goes away.  None dare call it insurrection, but I will.

One thing to notice in all this is how organized it is.  These are not random acts of violence.  We see professionally printed signs, standard talking points, online coordination, crowdfunding, and other hallmarks of an organized effort.

So now we’re seeing how far abortion activists are willing to go to get what they want – violence, vandalism, illegal protests, attacking the police, ignoring the law, intimidation, and death threats.  If you can’t persuade people, smash’em in the face and firebomb their office.  It’s no longer about persuasion or winning the issue fair and square.  It’s about using any means necessary to get what they want and the hell with everybody else, starting with the unborn.  And it’s all supported by politicians who should be thrown out of office for their lawlessness.  The law means nothing to abortion activists and their willing accomplices in government.  Which is not surprising, because these people don’t even respect life itself.  My mother was the best political scientist I’ve ever known.  She said a society that does not respect life is in trouble.  Amen to that, and I will add a society that no longer respects law will soon find it no longer has the Rule of Law, leaving it to the worst and most ruthless among us to determine what goes on here.

Radical Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) slammed Congress on Saturday for being corrupt and full of “so much decay and moral emptiness” after failing to pass radical policies to “fundamentally transform” the country, as Barack Obama once put it so ominously.

“It’s just really wild to be a person that works in a corrupt institution, which is what Congress is,” AOC stated. “And to try and be a normal person surrounded by so much decay and moral emptiness — that frankly transcends party — is very difficult.”

Her lament comes after her fellow radicals failed to convince the Senate to pass the socialist “Build Back Better” package, thanks largely to moderate Democrat holdout Sen. Joe Manchin.

“It should not surprise anyone that Senator Joe Manchin went on Fox News to kill the Build Back Better Act — he’s been promising to do it for months, and some folks did not want to believe him,” AOC’s fellow “Squad” leftist Rep. Rashida Tlaib complained at the time.

Whether AOC qualifies as “a normal person,” as she put it, is a topic for another day, but it’s worth noting that conservatives and AOC finally agree on something: Congress is corrupt and morally empty.

Biden Seeks End to Title 42 While Closing Federal Training Center Because of COVID

President Abraham Lincoln’s historic Gettysburg Address concluded with this powerful and aspirational excerpt, “…that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom — and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”

It is hard to equate the actions of the current administration with any desire to truly provide a government of the people, by the people and for the people, except perhaps for the people who profit from the immorally bankrupt and corrupt polices of the Biden administration.

America’s borders and immigration laws represent our nation’s first line of defense and last line of defense against aliens whose presence is a threat to national security, public safety and public health. America’s borders and immigration laws are also supposed to protect Americans’ jobs and wages.

In point of fact, a review of a section of law that is an integral part of the Immigration and Nationality Act, 8 U.S. Code § 1182 (Inadmissible Aliens) will irrevocably prove my point.

Further substantiation of the nexus between border security and national security can be found in the official report, “9/11 and Terrorist Travel – Staff Report of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States.” This report focused specifically on the ability of the terrorists to travel around the world, enter the United States, and ultimately embed themselves in the country as they went about preparing to carry out a deadly attack.

The preface of this report begins with the following paragraph:

It is perhaps obvious to state that terrorists cannot plan and carry out attacks in the United States if they are unable to enter the country. Yet prior to September 11, while there were efforts to enhance border security, no agency of the U.S. government thought of border security as a tool in the counterterrorism arsenal. Indeed, even after 19 hijackers demonstrated the relative ease of obtaining a U.S. visa and gaining admission into the United States, border security still is not considered a cornerstone of national security policy. We believe, for reasons we discuss in the following pages, that it must be made one.

However, the Biden administration has, since its first day in office, sought to dismantle our borders and gut immigration law enforcement without explaining how these actions are in the best interests of America or Americans.

The most recent effort of the Biden administration to encourage a human tsunami of illegal aliens to flood the U.S. involved its plan to have the Center for Disease Control (CDC) terminate Title 42 on May 23, 2022. This strategy was the focus of my recent article, “Title 42 and Chaos on the Border.”

Fortunately, a federal judge blocked Biden from ending Title 42 last month.

Here is where things get really interesting. Title 42 was implemented by the Trump administration to help to discourage massive illegal immigration that would pose a threat to the United States as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and required implementation by the CDC.

Under the Biden administration, the CDC was requested to terminate Title 42.

However, on May 23 – the very same day that the CDC had planned to terminate Title 42 – the Brunswick News reported, “FLETC shutdown, rising cases show pandemic isn’t over.”

(FLETC is an acorn for the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. This is the facility where many federal agencies train their law enforcement personnel, both when they are initially hired and while in-service.)

Here is an excerpt from the report:

Even though many of us have returned to a life that is closer to pre-pandemic times, the virus still lingers over our society. We got a reminder of that this week at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center.

On Friday, FLETC announced it was suspending training operations at the center due to a rise in COVID-19 cases. FLETC had 168 positive cases of COVID-19 as of Thursday, according to Alan Shefveland, branch chief, FLETC public affairs.

When training was halted, there were 2,853 students representing 68 agencies on the grounds. Approximately 500 are remaining on base, though that number could change. FLETC housed 2,044 students at the center with 414 staying off center.

FLETC’s abrupt training suspension came just a few days after The News reported COVID rates were rising across Georgia again. Ginger Heidel, risk communicator for the Coastal Health District, told The News that the daily average of new cases rose by almost 200% in the last month. Heidel also said the health district, which covers an eight-county area including Glynn, McIntosh and Camden, is seeing similar increases locally.

Nevertheless, the Biden administration announced plans to appeal the federal court’s ruling on rolling back Title 42.

The Biden’s administration’s immigration policies are undermining national security, public safety and public health, and it is clear that Biden could not care less.

Biden’s utter lack of concern for the wellbeing of America and Americans is, to borrow a term, sick, and not consistent with providing for Americans or a creating government that lives up to President Lincoln’s aspirational goals for citizens of the United States.

EXCLUSIVE: Immigrants Travel To Schools With Warning: Socialism Is Deadly

Immigrants who have fled socialist countries are travelling to schools across the U.S. for free under a new program to teach students about the dangers of socialism.

The Dissident Project launched Monday with speakers set to “travel to high schools across the U.S. to speak to students about authoritarian socialism” at no cost to the schools, Dissident Project founder and Venezuelan-born economist Daniel Di Martino told the Daily Caller.

The speakers include activists from Venezuela, Cuba, Hong Kong and North Korea who have immigrated to the U.S. and are dedicated to speaking about how socialism has destroyed their countries.

Grace Jo, a speaker from North Korea, came to the U.S. after almost starving “to death as a child” under the country’s socialist regime. Two of her brothers and her father died from starvation, according to the Dissident Project’s website.

“All of us Dissident Project speakers came to America for freedom, and it is our duty to preserve that love for freedom among the youngest generation. That’s why we’re stepping up and doing our part so Americans never forget that this is an exceptional nation, that free enterprise and the rule of law made it great and that socialism can destroy it all like it did in our native countries,” Di Martino said.

The project was inspired by Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ legislation recognizing a statewide “Victims of Communism Day” annually on Nov. 7 and requiring Florida schools to teach students about “the evils of communism.”

“Honoring the people that have fallen victim to communist regimes and teaching our students about those atrocities is the best way to ensure that history does not repeat itself,” DeSantis said in a statement about the bill in May.

Starting in the 2023-2024 school year, students in Florida will be mandated to receive at least 45 minutes of instruction in their required U.S. Government class about the evils of communism. Potential topics to cover include “Mao Zedong and the Cultural Revolution, Joseph Stalin and the Soviet System, Fidel Castro and the Cuban Revolution, Vladimir Lenin and the Russian Revolution, Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge, and Nicolás Maduro and the Chavismo movement,” according to the bill.

Di Martino began the Dissident Project “after learning about Florida’s new curriculum.”

“I thought we needed a unified platform where schools could find immigrants from socialist countries to speak there at no cost to them so we could reach every single American,” he said.

The Dissident Project will focus its efforts in speaking to school districts in Florida, given DeSantis’ legislation, but will also advertise the opportunity to teachers across the country, Di Martino concluded. Teachers who wish to host a speaker can do so for free by filling out a form.

NORTH CARILINA: Preschool Shows Kids LGBT Flashcards Featuring A Pregnant Man

As the insanity of American society today gallops forward, it came to light Sunday that Ballentine Elementary School in Wake County Park, North Carolina has been using LGBTQ-themed flashcards featuring a pregnant man to teach young children colors.

In the first place, it is important to note that a “pregnant man” is actually a woman. She may have pumped her body full of male hormones and have undergone surgery such that she sports a beard and resembles a man in other ways, but she is still functionally a woman, as her pregnancy itself attests. The idea of a “pregnant man” is a fiction and fantasy of our present age, which wants to pretend that men can become women and women men, and that when they do so, this is something to celebrate.

And yes, forcing this nonsense on preschoolers is child abuse, and worse. Republican State Rep. Erin Paré called for a return to sanity, saying: “Schools should only be using age-appropriate materials, and these flashcards clearly do not meet that standard for a pre-school classroom.” The cards seem to have been brought in by one teacher alone, as school administrators acted quickly to remove them when Paré alerted them to their use. Paré said: “I hope schools across Wake County and the State of North Carolina will follow the example of Ballentine and respond swiftly when a parent expresses concern and ensure that materials like this are not being used to teach young students.”

So do I, but there are larger issues at play here. What was the agenda of the teacher who brought these cards to the school in the first place? Clearly he or she wanted to teach the youngest children that changing one’s sex is both possible and normal, and that those who do so are as ordinary and wholesome as apple pie. The child will then grow up free from what is of course being dubbed “transphobia,” and the world will become that much more tolerant, diverse, and peaceful.

What could possibly be wrong with that? Plenty. One may change how one looks cosmetically, but one’s sex is embedded within every cell of one’s body. To try to change that is to set oneself at war with oneself forever. A person who changes sex, or thinks he or she has done so, becomes dependent upon pharmaceuticals for the rest of his or her life, which is great for Big Pharma and no doubt one reason why the medical and pharmaceutical establishment has suddenly decided that this obvious mental derangement is something entirely normal and to be encouraged and celebrated.

The transgender movement is also repeatedly targeting the youngest of children, as in this case, and working for statutes that enable children to change their sex, or think they have done so, even without their parents’ knowledge or consent. This is part of a larger effort to loosen the bond between parents and children and to make children more attached to and dependent upon the state and its officials than upon their parents. When you want to set up an authoritarian regime, say, one with a Disinformation Governance Board and a Justice Department that targets parents who dissent from the Leftist agenda at school board meetings, the weakening of the parental bond dovetails nicely with your plans.

There is another effect of all this as well. Once a generation of children is entirely indoctrinated into the LGBTQ transgender perspective, this generation will have learned to abhor and despise traditional masculinity and femininity. These self-absorbed and deeply confused young people will also have been taught that the founders of this nation were all white male slave owners, racists, colonialists, and imperialists, full of “toxic masculinity.” When the nation faces genuine existential threats, these young people will be called upon to defend it, and they will sneeringly refuse. They won’t want to be part of the aggressive gun culture. They will know that wars never solve anything, and that fighting in them is wrong in all circumstances. They will know that gun-wielding right-wingers are actually terrorists, whom under no circumstances are they willing to emulate. They will know that they should be welcoming to the other, not hostile, and that they should eschew all “bigotry” and “racism.”

Now imagine that the same elites who would like to see a generation hooked on pharmaceuticals and hating masculinity are also socialist internationalists who abhor the very idea of the nation-state. How wonderful it will be for them once a generation has accepted the trans nonsense and all the rest of what children are being taught. The way to the realization of their plans will be ably and smoothly paved.

HOUSTON – Former President Trump traveled to Houston on Friday to offer support for the National Rifle Association and echo the group’s mission as it faces pushback from gun control advocates following a deadly school shooting in Texas this week.

Speaking from the George R. Brown Convention Center, Trump addressed NRA members and touted the work his administration did to preserve the Second Amendment during his tenure in the White House.

Trump’s remarks at the 2022 NRA convention came days after a shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, that left 19 children and two adults dead.

“The existence of evil is one of the very best reasons to arm law-abiding citizens and that is why one of the core missions of the NRA is to train, prepare and equip responsible American men and women with the knowledge and tools they need to defend themselves,” Trump said, highlighting efforts from the NRA to enhance gun safety measures.

“The NRA has 125,000 certified instructors,” he added. “These are highly trained, very, very capable people. They train an incredible 1,000,000 Americans to be safer. Gun owners ready to act when the situation calls… incredible job.”

Trump said his administration worked to stop the siege on the Second Amendment and told those in attendance at the convention that “those on the left” will soon come for guns of all types.

“Let’s not pretend that those on the left are just talking about limiting one class of gun or one category of ammunition,” Trump said. “They’re not doing that.

“We all know they want total gun confiscation, we know that this would be a first step,” he added. “Once they get the first step, they’ll take the second step, the third, the fourth, and then you’ll have a whole different look at the Second Amendment, which is, by the way, totally under siege. But we stopped it for four years. We stopped it.”

Trump also told the NRA members that “schools should be the single-hardest target in our country” and noted the need to mend the issues surrounding “broken families” and mental health. He also suggested that some teachers should be able to “conceal carry.”

The Moral Idiocy of Gun Control

Is it more moral to own a gun or to pay someone else to do it for you?

I was chatting with a horrified Swedish visitor who described a visit to Nevada.

“There was this grandmother, an elderly lady, and she took out a gun from her purse,” he told me, shaking his head.

We were having this conversation in a city which had racked up 77 shootings in just one month.

Few New Yorkers legally own guns. The NYPD has issued around 40,000 handgun permits in a city of over 8 million. That’s around one handgun for every two-hundred New Yorkers.

Don’t assume that the parts of the city with the most guns are the most dangerous.

The vast majority of handgun permits are in Staten Island, which has the lowest crime rate in the city, as opposed to the Bronx, with the highest. Manhattan has few legal guns relative to its population while the white working class areas of Brooklyn have some of the most legal guns.

The Daily News, which interviewed a criminologist as part of its anti-gun crusade, found that he was “puzzled”. “Some people see a mugging in the Bronx, and they want to get a gun on Staten Island,” he argued. “That’s not rational, but some people really want guns.”

Perhaps one of the reasons that there are fewer muggings in Staten Island is that more of the folks there can prevent them. Muggers, like most predators, prefer victims who don’t fight back.

Big city progressives find guns indefinably ‘icky’. It’s not only foreigners who marvel at a country where guns, even ‘big scary black ones’, are available everywhere. The propaganda of Michael Moore’s “Bowling in Columbine” and countless network news shows is that people who live surrounded by guns have created the conditions for mass shootings. And they have it coming.

But New Yorkers, like most big city dwellers, live surrounded by guns. These aren’t the guns that ride on trucks or sit in sporting goods store displays. They’re the guns flashed by a mugger under his heavy down winter coat, or shot by rival gang members exchanging fire in the 73rd precinct in Brooklyn which accounted for around 100 shootings in just one year alone.

And there are the guns worn more openly by the army of police officers, security guards, bodyguards, and others, many of whom live on Staten Island, who are hired to keep New Yorkers safe. Two years ago, Bond, an app that some have called ‘Uber for Bodyguards’ debuted, allowing New Yorkers to order their own security personnel. New Yorkers, who disdain guns, instead tap an app for bodyguards to escort them from their train stop to their office.

Most urbanites hate living in this kind of  world, but they hate the alternative even more.

Gun control isn’t policy, it’s culture. And while the media often goes on about “gun culture”, there’s little thought given to “gun control culture” for the same reason that fish rarely film documentaries on what it’s like to have gills and swim underwater.

Gun control culture means paying men with guns between $50,000 to $85,000 a year in the hopes that they’ll show up in under 10 minutes and do something useful when you call 911.

That strategy didn’t work very well in Uvalde. It doesn’t work all that well most of the time.

Before Uvalde, in the recent Buffalo mass shooting, a 911 operator hung up on a store employee calling for help. The cops arrived in 5 minutes: in time to talk the shooter out of killing himself in front of the store so that taxpayers can pay for his trial and a 50-year prison term.

And that’s what a fantastic response time looks like. But by then, 10 people were dead.

Gun control culture pathologically hates guns, but also hates the men it hires to wield them. Urban lefties threw an anti-police tantrum that was so successful that their cities are frantically trying to hire more police officers to keep up with the resulting crime wave on their streets.

Police defunding is deader than the thousands of additional murder victims in the Year of BLM.

Gun control is a fantasy that somehow making guns as illegal in the rest of the country as they are in New York will put a stop to all the violence so that urban and suburban elites won’t have  to choose between being victims or paying the armed men they disapprove of to protect them.

Eliminating guns isn’t actually on the table.

This is a choice between an empowered public of gun owners and an endless running battle between cops and thugs in a society where only criminals and governments have guns.

A nationwide New York or Chicago.

Most Americans don’t want to live in this kind of world. Neither does anyone else. That’s why the wealthy hipsters who poured into New York City after Giuliani cleaned it up are leaving. Those who can afford it, go to the suburbs or to wealthy enclaves in other parts of the city. While crime hasn’t entirely depopulated the city, it has put a stop to gentrification. A slow motion white flight is happening all over again even though its participants are too ashamed to admit it.

The sharp division between gun culture and gun control culture is the border of an affected distancing from life’s realities. Gun controllers aren’t necessarily physical cowards, but they are moral cowards.

The same sorts of people who think guns are ‘icky’ also don’t want to know where their meat comes from or to see the soldiers who come back from the wars. These are things that they pay other people to do because it preserves their illusions about the world and about themselves.

America is becoming a nation split between those hard workers who take responsibility for dealing with life’s realities and the managerial elites who only issue meaningless orders.

Faced with shootings, managerial elites apply rule-based abstractions to messy realities that they are incapable of grappling with. The Left is always good for easy solutions that take away agency from individuals and invest it in a central authority in order to solve the unsolvable problems of human nature. And the managerial elites are always suckers for the myth that getting everyone to follow the rules in line with some grand theory will solve everything.

The people who, as the champion of managerial elites, once claimed, “cling bitterly” to their guns, understand that life is messy and that there’s no grand fix, only a series of choices.

Gun ownership is an act of personal responsibility. By buying and owning a firearm, a man is saying that he also intends to take ownership of his personal safety and his choices. That doesn’t always end happily, but there’s far more moral self-awareness in that choice than there is in urban elites who hate guns paying the gun owners they despise to keep them safe.

The one thing we absolutely own in this world are our choices.

Gun control isn’t about stopping gun violence, but disavowing moral responsibility for preventing it, passing the buck to the cops, to society, and to some force outside our control. Gun control rallies are the virtue signaling of moral cowards seeking to blame someone else for horrors that they cannot cope with and that they do not intend to take any personal action to prevent.

Disarmament, national or personal, is not a moral stance, but the abandonment of morality.

Gun controllers have had a field day with the inaction of the Uvalde cops, but it never occurs to them that’s who they are, standing around, wringing their hands and waiting for someone to tell them what the plan is, so they don’t have to make any difficult choices in the face of a crisis.

Gun control is the moral idiocy of the irresponsible blaming those who have taken responsibility.

Regarding the subject of George Floyd . . .

I witnessed this myself.

I’m an airline pilot by trade – and have been for most of the past 20+ years.  I’ve flown both domestic and international.  When you do this job for this long, you tend to learn what ‘normal’ is in the (seemingly) endless number of cities we overnight it.  One thing about knowing what ‘normal’ is – it’s easy to spot ‘abnormal’ when you see it.

A thought recently hit me . . . and compelled me to do a little research.  You see, I was flying at a charter airline during the time of the Floyd incident.  I was flying a corporate jet, and things were anything but normal at the time.  Fear of covid-19 was near its peak, and as a result few were traveling on commercial airlines.  Hotels were mostly empty (at least the ones that stayed open), and the ones that were open were limiting the number of floors that remained in operation.   On May 7th, we flew a family home to Minneapolis from Florida.  When we landed in Minneapolis, our company told us there were no other flights scheduled for us – and to check into a hotel.  Our company allows its pilots to book their own hotel rooms – and gave us a general ‘rule’ as far as the cost for the room.  We typically stay at decent hotels – but rarely anything extravagant.  Since the demand that week was almost non-existent, prices plummeted at even the nicest hotels.  For that reason, we booked ourselves at one of the top end hotels near the MSP airport.

We ended up staying at this fancy hotel for nearly a week before we received orders to fly another charter.  During our week at this hotel, we were the ONLY two rooms being occupied for the first couple of nights . . . but later in the week, things changed dramatically.  Despite this hotel having (roughly) a dozen floors, only two consecutive floors were being used.  As I walked down the hallway on my floor one day I noticed a VERY strong odor of marjuana.  There was literally a cloud of blue smoke that covered the entire hallway on my floor.  Later, as I was in the hotel’s elevator, several occupants from the rooms on my floor were waiting to take the elevator.  They were all male, approximately 20-25 years old . . . and clearly belonged to inner-city gangs.

I grew up in Los Angeles in the 70’s and 80’s . . . so I know what street gang members look like.  Between the clothing, the (specific) tattoos, the body language, etc – I learned at a young age who to avoid.  And why.

As it turned out, both floors were occupied with these individuals.  For timeline purposes, it was almost a week before George Floyd would be ‘arrested’ by local police.  And we were just a few miles from where the incident would take place.

My colleague and I flew that day – and ended up in Detroit for the night.  Michigan – like Minnesota – was on a self-imposed lock-down.  We found an above-average hotel just outside of Detroit – and booked it for the night.  To our surprise, it was also filled with gang-banger-types . . .  just like the hotel in Minneapolis.  What I found even more odd was that – even with our pilot uniforms on – the gang-bangers would not make eye contact with us as we crossed paths in the hotel.  My colleague and I are both white males in our fifties – all the gang-bangers we encountered at both hotels were black.

So here we were – literally one week from THE watershed event that obviously my colleague nor I knew was coming.  It was an event that would ostensibly (and allegedly) spark an outbreak of ‘spontaneous’ riots in the streets in (mostly) large cities throughout America.  It was an event that would be shoved down our throats from the moment it (allegedly) happened.

But THEY knew.  In twenty-plus years of spending half of my work-week in hotels, I was seeing something I had never seen before.  Street-gang thugs were being staged in (mostly) empty hotels – and in this case . . . high-end hotels.  This all took place in the two weeks leading up to the George Floyd incident.  I also spoke to several pilots and flight attendants at commercial airlines who said these same ‘types’ were on their flights leading up to May 24th, 2020 (the date of the Floyd incident).

This is no conspiracy theory . . . I actually watched it happen.  So what REALLY took place as George Floyd was being arrested?  Was the whole thing staged?  Parts of it?

Who knew about it?  Who paid for the logistics in getting all the gang-bangers transported, lodged and fed?

And how did they keep them quiet?

This was clearly a HUGE undertaking.

I keep going back to the speech Obama made to a crowd of SEIU members – shortly before being inaugurated in 2009 . . . the one where he said he will assemble a CIVILIAN army that is every bit as well-funded as our military . . . and equally well-trained.

It would appear that he achieved his goal . . .

The Economic Theory That Explains Biden’s Response to the Baby Formula Shortage

In a famous lecture, economist Ludwig von Mises showed how government intervention begets more intervention.

Over the last month, president Biden invoked the Defense Production Act in an attempt to fix the formula shortage. In a statement, the White House highlighted that,

“The President is requiring suppliers to direct needed resources to infant formula manufacturers before any other customer who may have ordered that good. Directing firms to prioritize and allocate the production of key infant formula inputs will help increase production and speed up in supply chains.”

In other words, the government is now engaging in what economist Don Lavoie referred to as non-comprehensive economic planning. It’s imposing rules requiring businesses to operate in a way that bureaucrats believe will quickly resolve this crisis. But the planning seems to have failed. Since Biden invoked the DPA, the number of stores out of stock has increase to 70% according to ABC news.

While some may be surprised that the US government can so quickly command industry, it should be no surprise at all. In fact, some basic understanding of government intervention shows that this sort of result is seemingly inevitable.

There have been several good articles explaining the source of this infant formula shortage. FEE’s own Jon Miltimore produced a great story on the topic. But, to keep it short, Abbott, one of the country’s largest formula producers, had a plant shut down by the FDA due to safety concerns.

But how could shutting down one plant in the whole country cause this? Well, formula production is one of the most tightly regulated industries in the US. Because of this, it’s very difficult to enter the market, so there are a few firms that  dominate the industry. So, when one has problems, the national supply is severely impacted.

One of the most harmful regulations are related to WIC and SNAP programs aimed at providing taxpayer subsidized formula to low-income consumers.

As reported in Time, Congress, in a supposed attempt to limit the cost of this program, made each state select one company to have formula which can be bought with WIC and SNAP in 1989. Since up to two thirds of formula is purchased with WIC and SNAP, the winners of these bids are able to crush competition.

Furthermore, until recently, the FDA banned importation of formula that listed ingredients in an order not prescribed by US bureaucrats. This limit on imports further restricts competition on a basis unrelated to health.

Meanwhile Fortune highlights research that shows despite European brands meeting safety regulations by and large, the FDA still restricts these imports due to the instructions being confusing.

Economist Alex Tabarrok highlights how price controls may be playing a role in the shortage as well.

Policy analyst Gabriella Beaumont-Smith examines the trade restrictions on baby formula, which includes tariffs of up to 17.5 percent.

In short, the industry is tangled in a web of intervention which is killing competition.

It’s this abundance of regulation that makes Biden’s use of the Defense Production Act so unsurprising.

In 1950, economist Ludwig von Mises gave a lecture titled “The middle of the road policy leads to socialism.” In this lecture, Mises expounded upon a theory now known by many as “the dynamics of interventionism.”

Mises uses an example of the dairy industry to show how intervention unfolds dynamically. Imagine the government decides that the price of milk is too high for poor people to afford it. In order to remedy the problem, the government passes a price control. For example, “milk cannot cost more than $2/gallon.”

But another problem arises. At this lower price, dairy farmers can no longer sell their milk at a high enough price to make a profit. Instead, they would be better off exiting the industry. But if dairy farmers exit, there will be less milk to buy. If the government wants to continue to make milk affordable and accessible, they’ll have to bail out the dairy industry. One way they could do this is by setting a price control on feed for cows.

But then producers of cattle feed will make losses. So, the interventions must occur again.

Intervention begets intervention.

This dynamic is exactly what is occurring in the formula industry. FDA regulations have made it impossible in the current industry for sufficient competition to arise.

This lack of competition combined with FDA shutdowns exacerbates the possibility of shortages like this. The shortages lead to the executive branch using the Defense Production Act to control the industries which provide imports to the formula industry.

Again, intervention begets intervention.

Some may accept the argument but argue that now that we have a crisis, we need to use things like the Defense Production Act to end it.

I disagree.

Government bureaucrats have insufficient knowledge and incentives to craft regulations which actually help. The Defense Production Act won’t help, because the government does not effectively plan the economy.

Need proof? The Abbot formula plant was shut down in February. The politicians and bureaucrats in Washington had from February to May to create and carry out a plan which would prevent this crisis. They failed.

Rather than solve the problem by using the same means that created it, central planners would be wise to lay down their Excel spreadsheets and let the market solve problems.

Allowing consumers to give their money and provide profits to companies which best solve their needs is how babies get fed.

Time to clean up the web of intervention.

Why Our WOKE Military’s Having Problems Recruiting Young People Today

Pentagon’s Leftist Politics Causing Loss of Trust in Military – and a Recruiting Crisis

ANALYSIS – Despite the mounting global threats to the United States, and the increasing potential for significant conflict between great powers, the Biden Pentagon can’t understand why it is facing its worst recruiting environment in decades.

It is time they look inward and see how their own leftist policies at the Department of Defense (DoD) are mainly to blame.

While obsessing over woke leftist causes and ‘diverse’ recruits not normally interested in military service, the Pentagon is alienating the vastly greater number of patriotic conservatives who normally fill our military ranks.

At the May 5 Army posture hearing with the Senate Committee on Armed Services, top military leaders sounded the alarm about recruitment. The Christina Post reports:

According to top DoD leadership, this is the most challenging recruiting year since the beginning of the all-volunteer force almost five decades ago. The Army announced that even after being forced to cut 12,000 soldiers, it still cannot fill its ranks. In addition to this, the percentage of young Americans qualified to join the Army is now at the lowest point ever at 23%.

While an increasingly obese, unfit, and mentally unhealthy society is partly to blame for fewer young Americans qualifying physically or mentally for service, the Pentagon itself is a big part of the recruitment problem.

Much of this crisis is caused by a growing lack of trust and confidence in the U.S. military. And much of this among its core recruiting pool – conservative patriotic young Americans.

Note: 65% come from Red States – no surprise here

Currently, only 11% of all those aged 16-21 answered “definitely or probably” in their likelihood to “serve in the military.”

According to a Reagan Institute survey, the percentage of Republican respondents saying, “they had a great deal of confidence in the military,” dropped dramatically from 87% in 2018 to “53% in 2021.”

And look no farther than the current Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, General Mark Milley, for a prime example of why this is happening.

And its not just the Army – all the services have been corrupted at the top and at the Service Academies.

The loss of trust by many conservatives comes primarily from a perceived liberal bias at the top of DoD. Many conservative media sources have decried what appears to be DoD following “political” priorities of the Biden Administration, including perceived targeting of conservatives in uniform. The bias became so obvious that even traditionally liberal news sources have opined about the problem.

Note: There is no “perceived” liberal bias but a real socialist bias as evidenced by Biden SOD Austin immediately ordering a 60 day stand down for commanders to root out “extremists in the military which is code for Trump supporters.

The Atlantic, a known liberal source, published the following: “Where (Milley) deserves greater criticism is his congressional testimony from a few weeks ago … he went on to connect racism to the attack on the Capitol: ‘I want to understand white rage … What is it that made thousands of people assault this building and try to overturn the Constitution of the United States of America?’”

The “white rage” statement by General Milley infuriated conservatives, as it was perceived both as an endorsement of critical race theory and of partisan political narratives.

Note: Again this is no perception but the TRUTH – CRT instruction has been mandatory in the military of the O’Biden regime.

The bias perception was compounded by Bob Woodward’s and Robert Costa’s book Peril quoting senior military and civilian DoD leaders with statements undermining Trump and showing partiality to Democrats.

If the Pentagon doesn’t quickly step back from its far left, woke policies and rampant Democrat-linked politicization, conservative Americans’ trust and confidence in the military will only continue to plummet.

Note: Loss of respect and confidence continues and the problem is not the enlisted and junior officers in the trenches; the problem stems from the WOKE top levels among the General Officers and Admirals.

And with it, the recruitment numbers for our nation’s fighting forces.

  • Time Out Cards during basic training.
  • Mandatory instruction on Critical Race Theory.
  • Changing Chaplain’s Corps to entirely non-denominational.
  • Terrible Rules of Engagement for those in combat in Iraq & Afghanistan & elsewhere resulting in unnecessary deaths and maiming.
  • Afghanistan pull out travesty.
  • Allowing transgenders to serve and paying for sex change operations.
  • Facilitating Nation Building rather than Combat Readiness.
  • Islamization of our military.
  • Promoting traitors like Alexander Vindman.
  • Allowing enemies to capture our fully armed gun boats and run rings around a fleet of our combat ships.
  • Training emphasizing Diversity, inclusion and equity rather than combat operations that leads to such disasters as 2 modern destroyers colliding with merchant ships on the high seas and resulting in deaths of sailors.
  • Promoting a policy allowing military to refuse assignments based on perception they will be discriminated against because of LGBTQMxyz or other tendencies
  • Renaming every military post named after Confederate Generals (despite fact that Congress enacted a law stating that those who fought on side of south are considered US veterans) Following Civil War I (AKA the War of Northern Aggression, the war between the states etc.) our people’s representatives made a conscious decision to name many of our military installations after CSA generals in an effort to amicably re-unite our nation. At the time, our national wounds were still fresh and this effort was made to honor the bravery of the CSA military. The signs at the gates are set with steel posts in order to be permanent. The name of the installation is not fastened with Velcro(tm) and should not be changed just because a bunch of people who have no understanding of history, decided to throw a hissy fit.
  • Following guidance that Climate Change is the #1 threat to national security.
  • Relieving Commanders for displaying views against LGBTQMxyz.
  • Going soft on traitors like Bergdahl whose desertion in combat resulted in deaths of 6 US soldiers looking for him.
  • Changing physical fitness standards to gender neutral thus reducing any kind of reasonable standards – Reducing the standards and requirements for graduation from tough combat courses such as Rangers, Force Recon, Special Forces, Crucible, SEALs, etc. so that women could pass and be “qualified.”
  • USMC using rainbow colored patches and bullets in celebration of “Pride Month.”
  • Suppressing information on sexual harassment in military where the leading suspects are not heterosexual males.
  • Ridding the service of “toxic masculinity” and replacing many former warriors with pajama or Pillsbury dough boys.
  • Cancelling the culture of the former military that most of us were proud to serve and replacing the “warrior spirit ethic/ethos” feared by our enemies with something we are hard pressed to identify with that is no longer feared by our enemies.

And I’m sure you can think of other ridiculous military polices in place under O’Biden, Austin, Milley, etc. which have grossly undermined morale and the ability to fight and win in combat.

I know we still have brave, strong soldiers in the trenches today, serving honorably but for how much longer under these circumstances?

DeSantis Seeks 400 Members To Join Florida State Guard, One Director To Run The Force

Gov. Ron DeSantis is looking for 400 people to join the Florida State Guard, and a director to run the force.

The newly re-established Florida State Guard (FLSG) is the state’s civilian force that will assist in supporting state emergency response.

The state is seeking an individual with a strong background in military operations and culture to lead the men and women of the FLSG. The Director of the FLSG will be in charge of the 400 guard members and will oversee recruitment, training and mobilization of the force in the event of an emergency. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in military style operations, emergency management, leadership and problem solving, according to DeSantis. You can apply to be the Director of the FLSG here.

To be a member of the FLSG, Florida is looking for individuals between the ages of 18 and 60, to volunteer and train to ensure that the Guard is ready to step in when emergency strikes.

“If you love the state of Florida, have a desire to help your community, and have skills beneficial to protect the state from a disaster, we encourage you to apply to join the FLSG. Skilled Floridians with emergency response, law enforcement or military training are encouraged to apply,” according to a statement from DeSantis’ office. You can apply to be a part of the Florida State Guard here.

Applicants will be required to meet the same standards as the Florida National Guard:
  • Florida resident between the ages of 18 and 60, with a desire to serve the state.
  • Willingness to work in a team.
  • Tactical or emergency response knowledge.
  • Ability to pass a physical.
  • Ability to participate in annual weekend training.
  • Ready to be a part of history.

Destroying Our Iconic and Uniquely American Cowboys via Yellowstone, The Ranch and Outer Range

I grew up watching shows about cowboys like Roy Rogers, The Lone Ranger, Gunsmoke, Rawhide and Have Gun – Will Travel. In these television series there was the good guy versus the bad guy. The good guy always won and usually got the girl.

Fast forward to 2022 and we now have a new series of cowboy television shows called Yellowstone, The Ranch and Outer Range. I have watched all three series and was shocked as producers and filmmakers worked to destroyed our uniquely American and iconic cowboys and ranchers.

Each series has these things in common:

  1. Cowboys are now the bad guys.
  2. The families of cowboys and ranchers are dysfunctional.
  3. Cowboys are heavy drinkers.
  4. Cowboys are murderers.
  5. Cowboys and ranchers are violent.
  6. Cowboys and ranchers are oppressors of minorities, like the native American Indian, i.e. Yellowstone.
  7. Cowboys and ranchers are greedy.
  8. Cowboys and ranchers use guns.
  9. Cowboys and ranchers are uneducated, inept and prone to violence.
  10. Cowboys have serious challenges which they are not equipped to deal with.
  11. Finally, cowboys and ranchers are portrayed as vigilantes and above the law.

In other words the American cowboy and ranchers are portrayed today as evil.

Cowboys and Guns

By portraying our cowboys and ranchers in a negative light it impacts the actual families and children of cowboys and ranchers.

This is part and parcel of the anti-gun, cultural and social justice war being waged against Americans in general, and in the case of these three popular streaming television series, cowboys and ranchers in particular.

QUESTION: But why?

ANSWER: Ranchers and cowboys represent fly over America.

Ranchers and cowboys feed Americans and work their land for the common good. Also, they carry guns.

Today, guns are being targeted by those who wish to eliminate the single amendment in our Constitution that was written to stop a tyrannical president – the Second Amendment.

Yellowstone, The Ranch and Outer Range each has a anti-gun agenda. This anti-gun agenda is particularly noticeable in Yellowstone. For example, the Marlin Model 336 is a rifle seen and used throughout the Yellowstone series. But so to are AR-15 style rifles like the Daniel Defense MK18 AR, a rifle similar to the DDM4, made by Daniel Defense that was used by 18-year-old Salvador Rolando Ramos during the Uvalde Massacre on May 24, 2022.

In our column “CULTURAL ROT: The Left’s War Against Guns But Not Criminals” we quoted Joseph Robinette Biden Jr., who on June 2, 2022, in the White House said,

“I respect the culture and the tradition and the concerns of lawful gun owners. At the same time, the Second Amendment, like all other rights, is not absolute.”

Cowboys have a tradition and culture of the use of guns to protect themselves, their families and their ranches and livestock. Yellowstone, The Ranch and Outer Range are designed not only to denigrate our iconic cowboys and ranchers but also to attack guns.

You see these cowboys and ranchers are much like today’s law enforcement officers. In Yellowstone the ranchers have their own police force called “Livestock Agents.”

Jason Whitlock said,

“When your culture makes George Floyd the hero, real heroes stand down. Cultural rot has consequences.”

After watching Yellowstone, The Ranch and Outer Range we sadly say,

When your culture makes cowboys and ranchers the bad guys, real heroes stand down. Cultural rot has consequences.

Today we have people who celebrate criminals while attacking our Constitutional right to keep and bear arms. This is all designed to disarm us. As Keven Downey, Jr. wrote,

The 2nd Amendment isn’t about shooting deer… It’s about defending the Constitution against enemies foreign and DOMESTIC. It’s for when our elected leaders go rogue. It’s for when an entire political party of the United States goes full commtard and won’t stop shredding the Constitution until it’s dead, floating facedown in the Potomac, enveloped in adipocere. Defending our Constitution is way easier to do with magazines that hold 30 rounds of commie-stoppers.

The Bottom Line

Here is an FBI chart showing the types of weapons used for murders between 2015-2019. As you can see, over three times as many people were beaten to death as were killed by all rifle styles combined, and nearly five times as many were killed by knives.

But these facts don’t matter to Biden, Democrats and their social justice warrior allies. What matters to the likes of Biden and his administration is taking away our God given freedoms and gaining more and more power.

If you want more crime, anti-social behavior and civil disorder then simply demonize the police, cowboys and ranchers and idolize criminals like George Floyd.

I spent 23 years in the U.S. Army. I used guns of all types and calibers. I defended our nation using guns to stop our Communist enemies in Vietnam and during the Cold War with the former Soviet Union.

I grew up watching cowboys and ranchers doing these same things when it came to their families, ranches and communities. Guns save lives, protect families and secure our homes.

To kill the iconic cowboy is to kill our American culture.

It is no different than tearing down statues of Confederate generals, defacing statues of General George Washington or cancelling our culture using theories like Critical Race in public schools.

These times are dangerous times. Everywhere you look our institutions, icons and heroes are being  torn down and replaced with symbols and icons of pure evil.

REMEMBER: Without law and order there is no law and order.

Gird your loins. Tyranny is coming to America in the name of social justice for some but not for all.

We live in a wondrous new age in which men can be women. So why can’t bees also be fish? What if they identify, or their lawyers rather, identify them as fish?

They say that the law is an ass, but in this case it may also be a fish. Or a bee. Or whatever the Big Green lobby and the Dems who control the state say it is.

In the latest installment of a years long legal debate over whether bees are fish, a California appeals court has ruled that, for the purposes of the state’s Endangered Species Act, they are.

Environmentalists petitioned the California Fish and Game Commission to add four bumblebee species to the list of at-risk plants and animals governed by the California Endangered Species Act (CESA). Roughly 250 plant and animal species are protected by the CESA, which prohibits the import, export, possession, purchase, or sale of listed species. The Commission provided notice in 2019 that the four bumblebee species were candidates for CESA protection, prompting lawsuits from agricultural groups that were concerned about the costs of adherence to the new requirements.

They also questioned the Commission’s legal authority to designate bumblebees for protection. Insects aren’t a protected category under the CESA. Candidate species may include “a native species or subspecies of a bird, mammal, fish, amphibian, reptile, or plant,” according to the state’s fish and game code. And while California does protect some species of insect, these are listed under the federal Endangered Species Act. That left state officials without an intuitive avenue.

Rather than let pesky biological standards get in the way, they had concluded that designating bumblebees as fish was the most fitting way to get them protected under the CESA. Legally, a fish refers to “a wild fish, mollusk, crustacean, invertebrate, amphibian, or part, spawn, or ovum of any of those animals.” Because bumblebees are invertebrates—a protected subset of fish—the Fish and Game Commission argued that they could reasonably be designated as fish per the CESA’s terms.

What do words mean anyway? Isn’t the entire concept of fish something invented by dead white men who were probably racists?

The arguments heard by an appeals court last week primarily focused on one question: What does it mean to be a “fish”?

Apparently, we need to consult a biologist.

“​​We acknowledge the scope of the definition is ambiguous but also recognize that we are not interpreting the definition on a blank slate. The legislative history supports the liberal interpretation of the Act (the lens through which we are required to construe the Act) that the commission may list any invertebrate as an endangered or threatened species,” the 35-page ruling states.

Including California leftists. While they are invertebrates, sadly they are not threatened. Instead, as this case shows us, they do most of the threatening.

But you don’t have to know anything when you’re fighting for social justice.

Bumblebees and honeybees are in the same family (Apidae) but they are in different genera (Bombus and Apis, respectively).  The honeybee species name, mellifera, is Latin for “honey bearer”.   Perhaps the legislature is just confused about bees.  In Section 29414 of the California Food & Agriculture Code incorrectly defines “honeybees” as insects of the genus Apis Mellifica (rather than mellifera).  In fact, Apis Mellifica is a homeopathic remedy that is variously bee venom or an entire bee crushed and diluted in alcohol.  Because there is no species named “apis mellifica”, it seems that in California there are no honeybees and bumblebees are fish.

While all of this is easy to mock, the practical implication of this means that almonds (and almond-based products) and citrus products will once again become more expensive, more family farms will go under, and more environmental consultants in Marin County will get richer.

And so the verdict is unanimous, that the law doesn’t apply to environmentalists and that California farmers have no rights. And that words mean nothing.

When looking at the CESA, Justice Ronald Robie and two other members of the Court of Appeal for the Third Appellate District ruled the CESA’s language does, in fact, cover bumblebees and that the California state legislature had taken action to ensure this result.

“We generally give words their usual and ordinary meaning,” the analysis begins. “Where, however, the Legislature has provided a technical definition of a word, we construe the term of art in accordance with the technical meaning. In performing this function, we are tasked with liberally construing the Act to effectuate its remedial purpose.”

In other words, anything goes.

Robie is an environmentalist and Jerry Brown’s former director of the California Department of Water Resources. Which means that maybe he shouldn’t have been hearing this case.

I would love if this case could somehow move to the federal level with California’s Democrat machine and the entire media focused to defend “bees are fish”.

But if they can do it with men are women, bees and fish are easy. Just don’t ask them about the birds and the bees.
