Record-Breaking Mexican Border Arrests, Caravan En-Route, Panama Warns 65K More

Illegal alien tells reporter they’re excited to break U.S. laws

Not only was the record for illegal immigrant apprehensions along the southern border shattered in 2021, the fiscal year, which ended in September, concluded with a bang—a final month spike of migrants from Haiti (132%), Turkey (89%), India (82%), Ukraine (81%) and even China (75%). The number of illegal aliens from Russia nearly doubled from 758 to 1,432 during the same period, according to year-end figures provided this month by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The chilling stats illustrate the magnitude of the national security and humanitarian crisis created by the Biden administration’s disastrous open border policies.

Federal agents apprehended an astounding 1,659,206 illegal immigrants at the southwest border in 2021, breaking the previous high of 1,643,679 in 2000. In fiscal year 2020, federal agents only arrested 400,651 on the southern border. The upsurge in just one year is difficult to grasp. Eight of the nine Border Patrol sectors saw triple-digit percentage increases in illegal immigrants over last year and one, Yuma in Arizona, reported an eye-popping 1,200.4% hike in apprehensions. The agency’s Del Rio sector in Texas had an unbelievable 542.7% surge. The Rio Grande Valley sector, also in Texas, saw a 508.7% increase and led all stations with 549,000 arrests. Del Rio reported 259,000 apprehensions which surpassed Border Patrol divisions in Texas and Arizona that typically see more traffic. Two other Texas stations, Big Bend and EL Paso, recorded apprehension gains of 331.9% and 256.5% respectively. Big Bend and El Centro in California were the only sectors that did not see six-digit apprehensions this year, though both reported major increases over 2020—331.9% for Big Bend and 115.4% for El Centro.

Most of the illegal aliens, 608,000, arrested by the U.S. in 2021 came from Mexico followed by the Central American nations of Honduras (309,000), Guatemala (279,000) and El Salvador (96,000). In the last month of the fiscal year, migrants from those four Latin American countries accounted for well over half (63.7%) of apprehensions along the Mexican border. The records show that 367,000 arrests included Haitians, Cubans, Brazilians, Venezuelans, and Ecuadorans. To top the year, Border Patrol encounters with Haitians rose from 7,590 in August to a startling 17,639 in September. The final month also saw big increases in migrants from other countries as well, including Venezuelans (71%), Romanians (49%) and Colombians (44%).

As the government released last year’s record-breaking figures, various Spanish-language news outlets report that the “mother of all caravans” (also known as the “march for liberty, dignity and peace.”) just embarked from the southern Mexican state of Chiapas, which borders Guatemala. One news story estimates that more than 4,000 illegal immigrants are in the caravan, which of course, is heading to the U.S. Another Spanish online article, which includes video of the caravan, says the group consists mainly of Haitians and Central Americans. Mexican authorities have reportedly committed to “respecting the rights” of the illegal aliens, allowing them to march through the country on the way to the American border. Mexico Foreign Affairs Secretary Marcelo Ebrard is quoted in a local news story saying that the government will act with prudence and caution in accordance to human rights laws, though he added that migrants are being fooled because they will not be allowed to enter the U.S.

It appears that the most recent caravan is just the beginning. A few weeks ago Panama’s foreign minister, Erika Mouynes, warned that there are more than 65,000 mostly Haitian illegal aliens ready to head north through Latin America. Since January, more than 86,000 migrants who arrived at the U.S.-Mexico border went through Panama, according to Mouynes. “We have been sounding the alarm for months about this,” the Panamanian official said in a Spanish news article published on September 29, adding that the numbers indicate migration will increase.

Biden released a ‘National Gender Strategy,’ and it is every bit as ridiculous as it sounds

If the Babylon Bee had been asked to write a “National Gender Strategy” to be posted on the White House’s website, it wouldn’t look any different than the document the Biden administration actually released last Friday.

The “fact sheet” contains every buzzword and policy that you would expect to hear from a progressive activist with a degree in gender studies

The four-page document begins by identifying “gender equity” as a “moral and strategic imperative.” Thanks to COVID-19, “we are at an inflection point,” the statement reads, as the pandemic has “magnified the challenges” that women and girls face — “especially women and girls of color.”

Given that the document asserts without any evidence that women of color have been hit hardest by COVID, it isn’t surprising that the document also promises “an intersectional approach” that “considers the barriers and challenges faced by those who experience intersecting and compounding forms of discrimination and bias related to gender, race, and other factors, including sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, disability, age, and socioeconomic status. This includes addressing discrimination and bias faced by Black, Latino, and Indigenous and Native American people, Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders, and other people of color.”

To improve “economic security,” the document calls for investments in “care infrastructure,” but nowhere is any real infrastructure ever mentioned.

The document promises to “dismantle the barriers to equal opportunity in education” so that women can “compete on a level playing field.” Never mind that women now make up 60% of all college students and are awarded two out of every three college degrees .

Abortion is, of course, absolutely essential for the “health care” of women, according to the document, which also promises to “defend the constitutional right to safe and legal abortion in the United States, established in Roe v. Wade.”

If there is one document that best encapsulates how out-of-touch the Biden White House is with everyday concerns of voters, this “National Gender Strategy” may be it.

Children Shouldn’t Get COVID-19 Vaccines, Harvard Professor Says

Children should not get vaccinated against the virus that causes COVID-19, according to Harvard University professor of medicine Martin Kulldorff.

“I don’t think children should be vaccinated for COVID. I’m a huge fan of vaccinating children for measles, for mumps, for polio, for rotavirus, and many other diseases, that’s critical. But COVID is not a huge threat to children,” he said on EpochTV’s “American Thought Leaders” program. The full episode can be watched on EpochTV.

“They can be infected, just like they can get the common cold, but they’re not a big threat. They don’t die from this, except in very rare circumstances. So if you want to talk about protecting children or keeping children safe, I think we can talk about traffic accidents, for example, which they are really at some risk.

“And there are other things that we should make sure [of] to keep children safe. But COVID is not a big risk factor for children.”

Vaccinating older people and people of all ages with compromised immune systems against the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus, which causes COVID-19, has drawn support from most medical experts. But vaccinating healthy young people, particularly children, has triggered more opposition, in part because of how little risk COVID-19 poses to them.

Children are more likely to contract serious disease or die from the annual influenza, or the flu, than COVID-19, according to data and studies that Kulldorff has reviewed. Just 195 children under the age of 4 and 442 between 5 and 18 have died from COVID-19 in the United States as of Oct. 20, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Children are 15 times less likely to be hospitalized with the disease than individuals who are 85 or older, and 570 times less likely to die, the agency says.

“One example is from Sweden, during the first wave in the spring of 2020, which affected Sweden quite strongly,” Kulldorff said. “But Sweden decided to keep daycare and schools open for all children ages 1 to 15. And there are 1.8 million such children who got through the first wave without vaccines, of course, without masks, without any sort of distancing in schools.

“If a child was sick, they were told to stay home. But that was basically it. And you know how many of those 1.8 million children died from COVID? Zero. Only a few hospitalizations. So this is not a risky disease for children.”

When weighing whether to vaccinate children, the risk of vaccine side effects must also be taken into account, Kulldorff said. The main risk to young people seen so far is heart inflammation, which has occurred post-vaccination at much higher than expected rates. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) added a warning label to the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines over the summer about myocarditis and pericarditis, two types of heart inflammation.

“If you’re 78 years old, then it’s the no-brainer, in my view, because the benefits are so great that even if you have a small risk for some adverse reaction, the benefit far outweighs the risk,” Kulldorff said. “On the other hand, if you have already have immunity from having had COVID, then the benefits of the vaccines are much, much smaller. If you’re a child, even if you haven’t had COVID, the risk of serious disease or death is minuscule … So it’s not at all clear that the benefits outweigh the risks for children.”

Kulldorff was speaking ahead of an FDA advisory panel meeting. Members on Oct. 26 decided to advise drug regulators to authorize Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine for use in children between 5 and 11. They said the benefits of vaccinating the age group, such as the predicted decrease in hospitalizations, outweighed the risks, including estimated incidence of myocarditis.

Vax Hysteria: CDC Dirty in 1976 – Worse Today.

Ivermectin works both as a prophylactic and as a treatment with a very high success rate. This virus has a 99% survival rate, thus none of the “vaccine” hysteria makes any sense to a rational person, unless it’s about the money and power (or power and money).

Americans Remain Stranded in Afghanistan While Biden Looks On

On Tuesday, October 26 during a hearing before the Senate Armed Services Committee, U.S. military leaders faced intense questioning about the poorly executed American withdrawal from Afghanistan. Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) told Gen. Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin that he believes they should resign.

Hawley explained, “We had a rapidly deteriorating, frankly disastrous, situation in Afghanistan which resulted in the death of 13 soldiers…Hundreds of civilians and hundreds of Americans left behind. And in my view, that mission can’t be called a success in any way shape or form logistical or otherwise… I think there’s no other way to say it, and there has to be accountability. I respectfully submit it should begin with you.”

The Afghanistan upheaval Hawley referred to was discussed in greater length on “Washington Watch” Monday as Tony Perkins interviewed Congressman Pat Fallon (R-Texas), who serves on the House Armed Services Committee, about the shocking story of the Biden administration’s dishonesty on Afghanistan.

Tony asked Fallon whether he was surprised to hear that the administration had finally admitted that there are actually more than 100 Americans still stranded in Afghanistan.

It seemed Fallon wasn’t surprised. “This administration has proven one thing,” Fallon replied. “They first start by just ignoring an issue. It doesn’t matter how severe or dire it is, then they’ll deflect and then they obfuscate and then they’ll just spit out falsehoods. And then only then when they’re caught, will they admit the truth.”

“So right now, we’re looking at about three hundred and sixty-three American citizens, and just under 200 permanent residents that [have been flown out.] That number is not 100. That number is 500. And it doesn’t surprise me because they just hope against hope that their media allies won’t expose the truth.”

Tony pointed out that State Department spokesman Ned Price recently said that he would not confirm how many Americans are in touch with the State Department in total. But Price went on to explain that the number of people wanting to leave has grown, “because they were disappointed with what’s happening in Afghanistan.”

Tony asked Fallon, “Do you buy that?

“Oh, no, I don’t know anybody who had been living in Afghanistan, who doesn’t know who the Taliban are… these are folks that were shooting women for conjugating verbs or going to school. Anybody that dares not share their strict view and specific view of Islam will be repressed. So no, it’s nothing new. And it’s just again more obfuscation from this Biden regime.”

During the interview specific dates were discussed; these are highly relevant to piecing together the truth amidst the administration’s spin.

On August 30, Secretary of State Antony Blinken said, “We believe there are still a small number of Americans under 200 and likely closer to 100 who remain in Afghanistan and want to leave.”

On August 31, President Biden said, “Now we believe that about 100 to 200 Americans remain in Afghanistan, with some intention to leave.”

On September 5, Biden’s chief of staff said “We believe it’s around 100. We’re in touch with all of them.” Then separately, on September 10th State Department deputy spokesman Jalina Porter said. “So again, the situation on the ground is really fluid and about a hundred in that number that we have of U.S. citizens.”

With that in mind, Tony asked \Fallon, “does this call into question any type of intel or fact that we get from this administration when it comes to their foreign policy?”

“You have to suspect it because they’re breaching trust here,” Fallon replied. “This is propaganda. This is not information…They go with the lie and they repeat it enough times to where they think it just will. You know, it’s kind of like baloney against the wall, except lives are at stake.”

Congressman Fallon is not alone in his views.

On Friday, October 22, Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Nebr.), a member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, accused the administration of misleading the American public. “For weeks, their official number was ‘about a hundred’ and it magically never changed – as Americans slowly got out the total number never went down. Now they say more than 300 Americans are still in Afghanistan,” Sasse said in a statement.

On October 26, Family Research Council was separately told by sources on the ground in Afghanistan about one specific group of volunteers that is currently focusing their attention on 20 American citizens along with 92 family members, totaling 112; and 46 legal permanent residents (LPRs) with 254 other family members, totaling 300. Thus, despite U.S. promises and claims in the news media, these 412 individuals were left behind during U.S. evacuation efforts.

Meanwhile, there is increasing urgency among the many other volunteers who continue Afghan rescue-and-evacuation efforts. The New York Times reported earlier in October, that in the face of these efforts there has been an uptick in retributive attacks by the Taliban. U.S. Army Lt. Col. (ret.) and Congressman Mike Waltz (R-Fla.) reported that his office recently received a video of a woman who had served in the Afghan National Army who had been nearly beaten to death, her arms and ribs broken.

According to an Army Times account, tens of thousands of vulnerable Afghans, many of whom aided U.S. forces and contractors in the past 20 years of conflict, also hope to leave the country. In fact, a group of Green Berets stationed at Fort Bragg is spending long nights and days on a volunteer basis, working with allies in Afghanistan, trying to coordinate rescues.

“Their hands are tied everywhere they go,” the Army Times article recently reported about the Green Beret efforts. “And then they’re still watching all these people dying, that saved them half of the time, looked out for them, gave them information they needed, some interpreters for them. And now they feel they’ve left these guys in harm’s way. And that’s opposite of their ethos and just soul crushing.”

Truly. Yet as Christians we must continue to pray – and act – to bring aid and hope to those facing difficulty and persecution.

Students at a Loudoun County high school staged a walkout in support of recent sexual assault victims.

Broad Run High School, where the walkout took place, is the high school where an alleged attacker was transferred after he was charged with inappropriately touching a female student, Drew Wilder of NBC Washington reported. The teen was initially a student at Stone Bridge High School. A similar walkout took place at Riverside High School, also in the Loudoun County Public School district.

Students could be heard chanting, “Loudoun County protects rapists” and “why was a rapist allowed in our school?” One student said, “this isn’t a political issue, this is a human issue,” according to Wilder.

On Monday, a Virginia court ruled that there was enough evidence to find the teen accused of assaulting a female student in a bathroom guilty of engaging in “non-consensual sex.”

The teen, who identifies as “gender fluid,” is standing trial on two separate cases. The first involved an in-classroom incident at Stone Bridge, and the second involved a ninth-grader at Broad Run who accused the teen of sexual assault, originally reported by The Daily Wire.

The Loudoun County Public School board initially claimed it was not informed about the “specific claims” relating to sexual assault allegations, though reporting from WTOP uncovered that the district’s superintendent sent an email to the board members the day of the assault.

Five former Virginia attorneys general have since called on the state’s current Attorney General to investigate the board over its handling of the scandal.

The UN is heading to Glasgow, Scotland, for “COP 26,” which is being billed as the most important climate conference since Paris.

COP 26 has been on hold for a year due to fears of COVID-19.

It seems the UN has learned the wrong lesson from the pandemic. Instead of realizing our economy is fragile and supply chains must be safeguarded, the UN has unfortunately learned that fear works in achieving tyrannical ends. CFACT’s Marc Morano has reported extensively at CFACT’s Climate Depot, that Team Warming has developed a severe case of lockdown envy, and views the economic dislocations wrought in the name of combating the pandemic as a blueprint for future lockdowns in the name of climate.

President Biden and “climate envoy” John Kerry are both headed to Glasgow anxious to “restore American leadership” on global warming. Having these two feckless seniors land in Scotland means the time has well and truly come for those seeking to use the UN climate process as an opportunity to hamstring American power and influence and shake Uncle Sam down for cash.

Here are just a few of the issues on the table in Glasgow:

“Net Zero” has become the buzzword to watch. The Biden Administration is pushing to electrify everything and to generate all that electricity with intermittent wind and solar which are not up to the task;
“Nationally determined contributions” are each countries’ individual plans pursuant to the Paris Climate Accord. Glasgow is the UN’s chance to rope America in while China, Russia and India skate free.
The UN is hoping Biden will pump billions into its Green Climate Fund with a heaping extra payout to make up for the funds the Trump Administration was unwilling to waste. Obama diverted the cash sidestepping congressional appropriation. Will Biden?
Loss and damage means placing financial responsibility on developed nations when extreme weather events strike poor countries. So far the U.S. has managed to steer clear of this one. However, activist-driven “attribution science” now wrongfully pins every natural weather event that comes along on climate. This has developing nations licking their chops. Biden and Kerry may be just the pair to surrender.
China continues to add coal plants as fast as its economy will permit, and now emits more greenhouse gases than the rest of the developed world COMBINED! China recently pledged to fight climate change by not helping Africans build their electric grids (while continuing to expand its own). China’s ploy to distract us? Demand America pay more!

One person to watch at COP 26 is Greta Thunberg. Watch for the unscientific, unsmiling young Swedish scold to continue to hector world leaders. Greta has been none too amused by international climate diplomacy recently saying, “ Build back better. Blah, blah, blah. Green economy. Blah, blah, blah. Net zero by 2050. Blah, blah, blah. Climate neutral. Blah, blah blah.” Greta may be on to something with her “Blah, blah, blahs,” but when she follows it up with a demand for Socialist “climate justice” she becomes one more opponent of individual freedom.

Socialism is not the solution to climate change or anything else.

The state of California released a jobs report Friday showing the highest unemployment rate in the nation. California alone represents one-third of the overall unemployed in the nation.

The California Employment Development Department September jobs report showed that the state gained 47,400 jobs since August but holds an unemployment rate of 7.5% which ties Nevada for the highest in the United States.

Additionally, unemployment claims rose to 80,700 last week which amounted to one-third of the total claims in the country.

The state’s Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom painted an optimistic picture of the report blaming the coronavirus pandemic for the slow growth but claiming that the state is “averaging record job creation.”

“Our economic recovery continues to make promising progress, with 812,000 new jobs this year and regaining over 63 percent of those jobs we lost to the pandemic,” Newsom said in a release. “As we continue averaging record job creation, our work is more important than ever to get more Californians back on the job and support those hardest hit by the pandemic.”

“Within the past eight months, California has created 812,000 new jobs, more than any other state,” Newsom added. “That averages out to approximately 101,500 per month.”

In June, and many times since then, Newsom has claimed that California is “roaring back” under his leadership but economic indicators, including the recent jobs report, have suggested that the comeback is moving slowly.

Since the beginning of 2018, California has seen 265 companies relocate their headquarters outside of the state – 74 of which left in the first six months of 2021, according to a new analysis published by the Hoover Institution, a right-leaning think tank at Stanford University. By comparison, 62 businesses moved outside of the state in 2020, while 78 relocated in 2019. In 2018, 58 companies exited the state.

The migration is taking place across a broad range of industries, such as manufacturing, aerospace, financial services, real estate, chemicals, health care and technology. The headquarter exits include Big Tech legacy firms such as Hewlett-Packard Enterprises and Oracle, but also smaller, rapidly growing firms like Darvis, which helps digitize hospital logistics, hygiene and documentation.

The biggest reason that companies are relocating outside of the state is finances: California is “too expensive, too regulated and too heavily taxed, both for companies and for the workers they hire.”

That’s evidenced in part by the new destinations for the departing companies: States with lower costs, fewer regulations, lower taxes and a higher quality of life for workers are the leading choices for the businesses. Since the beginning of 2018, Texas has seen 114 companies formerly based in California relocate to the state.

According to Gov. Greg Abbott (R), meanwhile, Texas led job creation across the United States in September. According to Abbott, Texas had nearly twice the number of new jobs than California in September.

POLL: Growing Number Of Americans Want Increased Funding For Police

The number of Americans who want to see an increase in funding for local police has risen to nearly half since June 2020, according to a Tuesday Pew Research poll.

Forty-seven percent of Americans say spending on policing should increase in their community, up from 31% in June 2020, according to the poll. The poll found that 21% of respondents felt police funding should be increased by “a lot,” marking an 11% increase from the same period.

Meanwhile, calls for reducing police funding have decreased by 25% since June 2020, with only 15% of adults supporting a reduction in spending. Of the 15%, only 6% said that police funding should decrease “a lot,” according to the poll.

Additionally, the poll found that 37% of Americans think current police budgets should remain unchanged.

The poll follows a record-breaking nationwide murder increase in 2020, which also saw violent crime on the rise for the first time in four years. A separate July Pew poll reported that 61% of Americans felt violent crime is a “very big” issue the country is facing, up from 41% in June 2020.

“The demonization of the police has made our communities and law enforcement jobs less safe,” National Fraternal Order of Police President Patrick Yoes told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “We have seen violent crime skyrocket in cities across the county.”

“All Americans want and deserve to feel safe in their communities,” he added. “Our nation’s law enforcement officers put on their uniforms every day in every community in our country because of their unwavering commitment to serve the public.”

The poll was conducted from Sept. 13 to Sept. 19 among 11,505 adults with a margin of error of 1.6 percentage points.

‘Biden Is Not In Control’: The White House Is Constantly Cleaning Up Biden’s Comments

White House staff have made a habit of clarifying or outright rolling back President Joe Biden’s statements, leaving many critics questioning who is really in charge of the administration.

Few events have illustrated the White House’s propensity to edit the president’s comments than Biden’s performance at CNN’s town hall on Thursday. There, the president vowed that the U.S. had a “commitment” to defend Taiwan from Chinese aggression, and said he was considering a mobilization of the National Guard to alleviate supply chain chaos across the country. White House press secretary Jen Psaki nullified those statements the following day.

“There has been no shift,” Psaki said Friday of U.S. relations with Taiwan. “The president was not announcing a change in our policy, nor has he made a decision to change our policy. There is no change in our policy. Our defense relationship with Taiwan is guided by the Taiwan Relations Act.”

Psaki brushed away Biden’s comments on the National Guard in a similar fashion.

“Any President has the ability to use the National Guard from the federal level,” she said in a response to questions. “Requesting the use of the National Guard at the state level, which is often how it’s done, is under the purview of governors. And we’re not actively asking them to do that, and we’re not actively pursuing the use of the National Guard on a federal level.”

While the president’s critics were quick to highlight the White House’s apparent editing of the president’s comments, it not the first time the president’s public comments have received such treatment from his administration.

WATCH:

Biden received the same treatment from his military generals in late September, when Gen. Kenneth McKenzie, the head of U.S. Central Command, testified to Congress that he had, in fact, advised Biden to keep 2,500 troops in Afghanistan. The testimony contradicted Biden’s public comments on his chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan in August, when he claimed his military advisers made no such recommendation.

Biden has been at odds with his staff when comes to the administration’s response to COVID-19 as well. Biden contradicted Psaki on school reopening policy during another CNN town hall in February, during which he stated that Psaki’s assertion that schools would be considered “open” if they had in-person learning one day per week was a “mistake in communication.”

The White House has kept Biden’s unscripted interactions with the media to a minimum since he gained office. The press has been allowed to interview Biden in an extended one-on-one setting 10 times since Inauguration Day, compared to President Donald Trump Trump’s 57 times and President Barack Obama’s 131 times at the same point in their administrations.

It has been nearly 100 days since Biden held a formal press conference, a fact the Republican Party has pointed out on Twitter. He also has yet to sit down with a reporter from The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Associated Press, or Reuters.

White House staff members have admitted they worry any time Biden appears before the press on camera, fearing he will make another gaffe or abandon his prepared remarks and go off on tangents–tangents that might require a clarification or outright rollback from Psaki the following day.

“I know people who habitually don’t watch it live for that reason,” one White House official told Politico in September.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki indicated a similar sentiment earlier this year.

“A lot of times we say, ‘Don’t take questions,’” Psaki told Democratic strategist David Axelrod on his podcast in May. “But he’s going to do what he wants to do because he’s the president of the United States.”

Former President Donald Trump said in a statement released Sunday that the U.S. is now a “laughingstock all over the world!” as he addressed the Afghanistan withdrawal and terrorism threat, among other issues….

In his remarks about immigration, Trump pointed out that many Afghans who fled their country after the Taliban takeover shouldn’t be in the United States. He noted that: “97 percent of people that came in from Afghanistan rushed the planes and shouldn’t be here. Those people must be checked very carefully because many of them will turn out to be strongly-related to high-level terrorism.”

“How stupid our country has become. So sad to watch when just 10 months ago we had none of these problems, and none either with bad economy, inflation, [and] fuel prices going through the roof,” he said.

Towards the end of his statement, Trump pointed that the U.S. troop withdrawal from Afghanistan should have been executed differently, referring to the 13 U.S. service members who were “needlessly killed” during a bombing outside the Kabul airport in August.

“We would have been out but we would have been out with dignity,” he said….

How Free Stuff Is Used To Addict The Urban Poor To Welfare

Lifeline is a federal program originally intended to provide low-income people with a free landline phone. Sensing a chance to get more poor people to vote for them, Democrats expanded the program to include free cell phones. To maximize the number of subsidized cell phone recipients, “free phone” vans patrol low-income areas of every Democrat-run city in America, a practice that has resulted in massive fraud.

The “free phones” van pictured above set up shop on a street in a predominately African American area of Baltimore. As revealed in this must-see report by the city’s Fox45 TV, within just three years of Barack Obama’s election, fraud exploded the number of subsidized phones in Baltimore from 6,000 in 2008 to 231,000 in 2011.

Baltimore isn’t the only place where Democrats have used free phones to addict the urban poor to government dependency. In a viral video that illustrates how readily poor people will vote for politicians who promise them free stuff, a welfare recipient in Cleveland, Ohio screamed at a TV reporter that minorities would be voting for Obama because he gives them free phones.

HOW DEMOCRATS DISINCENTIVIZED WORK

Prior to 1995, the federal government gave more money to states that increased their welfare rolls. The following year, President Bill Clinton signed into law major bi-partisan welfare reform that required those receiving public assistance to work in exchange for taxpayer-provided benefits.

Known as “The Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996,” the new law changed the rules by instead rewarding states that decreased welfare rolls. The encouraging result was a sharp drop in both welfare dependency and child poverty.

Thirteen years later, Democrats eviscerated the 1996 welfare reform law. Written behind closed doors with zero bi-partisan support, the 2009 stimulus bill passed into law by President Obama and a Democrat Congress effectively ended the requirement that able-bodied adults perform work in exchange for government benefits.

As allowed by the stimulus bill, the Obama administration replaced actual work requirements with the following “work” requirements: Bed rest, personal journaling, motivational reading, smoking cessation classes, weight loss classed, personal care and helping others with household tasks.

Proving that these activities were actually performed was done through the honor system. Defining leisure activities as work enabled Democrats to mislead voters to think that welfare recipients still had to earn their government benefits.

Under the new rules, welfare recipients were disincentivized to transition toward self-reliance, resulting in a return to record levels of welfare dependency and child poverty. The Democrat message to the urban poor: Keep voting for us and we’ll see that you keep getting welfare, this time with no strings attached.

HOW OBAMA EXPLODED FOOD STAMP ROLLS TO RECORD LEVELS

No one minds helping the needy, but Democrats have turned food stamps into a way of life for millions of able-bodied people—under President Obama, 13 million more recipients were added to food stamp rolls. In a move that helped explode food stamp usage to all-time record levels, the Obama administration ran ads designed to lure more people to apply for federal food assistance:

● Obama USDA pamphlet suggested holding food stamp parties to increase participation

“Host a social event. Make it fun by having activities, games and food, and provide information about signing up for food stamps!”

● To expand food stamp rolls in rural areas, the Obama USDA ran ads that denigrated and discouraged self-sufficiency

A 2011 USDA pamphlet revealed that local food assistance offices were rewarded for “counteracting” the pride that many rural Americans have in being self-reliant.

● Obama USDA’s “outreach” used Spanish-language ads to boost food stamp use among legal & illegal immigrants

To prevent taxpayers who do not speak Spanish from discovering the content of the ads, the USDA website did not provide English translations. When the ads were exposed in conservative media, the USDA removed them from its website.

According to a report by the Congressional Research Service, food stamp usage among able-bodied adults doubled after the Obama administration suspended work requirements.

THE PLIGHT OF URBAN AMERICANS IS WORSE THAN EVER

Over the last half-century, trillions of dollars have been spent to help lift the black underclass, with a mother lode of anti-poverty funding having gone to blue state governors and blue city mayors. According to Bob Woodson, a former executive of the National Urban League, 70% of the $22 trillion in anti-poverty funding never reached the disadvantaged people it was intended to help. Instead, the lion’s share was siphoned off by high level elected Democrats, who perpetuated inexcusably wasteful bureaucracies that devoured massive sums of anti-poverty funding in ways that did virtually nothing to improve the plight of the inner city poor.

For six consecutive decades, residents of our inner cities have been economically consigned to communities ravaged by urban decay, rampant crime, rat-infested government housing, sorry schools, generational poverty and chronic hopelessness, with each election bringing a new round of empty promises from the party that that uses welfare addiction and the race card to win elections. While the black underclass faces a daily struggle just to survive, the Democrats they helped elect live in new homes, drive new cars and dine at exclusive restaurants.

WELFARE KILLS THE HUMAN SPIRIT

By the mid-1980s, it was apparent that giving on-going welfare to able-bodied people was a counterproductive policy that inflicted lasting harm on the urban poor. Using government benefits to help impoverished people get on their feet is one thing; knowingly habituating them to welfare as a means of securing their vote is a cruel and cynical thing to do.

By continually pushing welfare on those already addicted to the demeaning lifestyle of government dependency, the Democratic Party is guilty of an unconscionable crime against the most vulnerable people in our society.

Except on Election Day, Democrats couldn’t care less about the urban poor. One day, white liberals will be filled with shame when will realize the unmitigated carnage their vote has foisted on generations of impoverished black Americans.

COVID-19: Science-Based Information

Before explaining why they happened, let’s briefly look at some of the horrific — and entirely preventable — US consequences of our mishandling of COVID-19:

Hundreds of thousands of Americans are needlessly dying,
Our economy is being undermined, with Trillions of dollars being wasted, and
We are lurching towards Communism, as dozens of hard fought for liberties and civil rights are being extracted.

But haven’t we been dealing with a disease of unprecedented historical proportions? NO! See this visual comparison of prior pandemics — and be aware that this shows an inflated death toll for COVID-19. (For example, the majority of COVID-19 deaths were preventable!)

The question now is: have we learned our lesson here, or does it have to get even worse before we wake up? The lesson to be learned comes from understanding how this tragedy came about…

The term “Science” is bandied about continuously. The obvious reason why is that when a product or agenda is officially endorsed by “Science,” it’s like getting the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval.

The problem is that 95%+ of the public (including legislators), have almost no idea what “Science” actually is. This leaves the stage open to a wide-variety of bad actors to step in and make false Science claims — knowing that very few will be aware of the deceit. Fewer yet will have the knowledge, time and commitment to publicly challenge these inaccurate Science assertions.

As a professional scientist for 50+ years, let me try to clarify some of the confusion. The best definition for Science is: Science is a Process, and the most recognized Science process is the Scientific Method.

Once we’ve grasped that, part two is the understanding that Science exists for one reason: to give us objective, competent assistance in solving our technical problems (e.g., like COVID-19).

Because of this powerful influence, there is a wide range of Science wanna-be’s. However, if we are paying careful attention, we can discard the pretenders when we see that they do NOT follow scientific protocol. Today, the biggest threat to real Science is political science. (Of course, having the word “Science” in the phrase is the first part of the deception.) Political science is actually just politics — but with a fancy name to make it sound more legitimate. Don’t be fooled.

We are being bombarded with numerous “politically correct” products (industrial wind energy) and agendas (climate change), parading about as if they are proven by Science. They are not!

So, it’s no surprise that COVID-19 policies have fallen prey to this anti-science (and anti-American) scourge. The bottom line is that self-serving parties will continue to use a strategy as long as it works. We need to expose the deviations from real Science in ALL of our technical policies — but here our focus is on COVID-19.

Below are some reports that should help you to be able to separate the wheat from the chaff. The first group are my small efforts at trying to educate the public about the charade we’ve found ourselves in. The second collection are some of the better materials I’ve come across from other parties. This isn’t an exhaustive list, but if you absorb what is here, you’ll be very knowledgeable about the unscientificness of COVID-19 policies.

One would think that as the guardians of their profession, that the Medical Establishment (FDA, CDC, WHO, AMA, NIH) would aggressively be defending their field from science pretenders. Unfortunately, regarding COVID-19, the Medical Establishment has become more a part of the problem, rather than a part of the solution. That’s what my first report outlines.

The second report spells out the most egregious failing of the Medical Establishment regarding COVID-19: that they failed to advocate any science-based therapies, when there were several reasonable options — any of which were superior to doing nothing.

Mayorkas Plans to Shield Immigration Fraudsters – After DHS Officer Arrested for Naturalization Fraud

I recently wrote an article titled, “Biden Administration Plans to Protect Immigration Fraudsters,” which was predicated on a Washington Times article published nearly two weeks prior.

In point of fact, the 9/11 Commission, to which I provided testimony, identified immigration fraud as a key method of entry and embedding for foreign terrorists and was the prediction for an article I wrote on the topic in 2017.

Given the dangers such immigration fraud poses to national security and public safety, the Trump administration created a special unit to seek out aliens who committed fraud to acquire U.S. citizenship.

It is immensely disturbing that the Biden administration and Secretary of Homeland Security (DHS) Alejandro Mayorkas would seek to not only apparently dismantle the fraud unit created by the Trump administration, but actually shield immigration fraudsters from detection.

My previous article provided specific examples of terrorists and spies who sought U.S. citizenship to facilitate their nefarious goals. One of those examples related to a Department of Justice (DOJ) press release from April, 2021, about a federal immigration official from Nigeria who was charged with illegally obtaining U.S. citizenship under a false identity.

The information contained in the DOJ press release provides, what I believe is, the likely motivation Mayorkas had for seeking to shield immigration fraudsters from detection. However, we must remember the defendant Ifemembi still enjoys the presumption of innocence until the prosecution is completed.

Here is how the DOJ press release began:

An immigration services officer with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services was arrested this morning in Maryland on a federal charge that alleges he obtained U.S. citizenship under a false name.

The defendant is charged under the false name of “Karl Nwabugwu Odike Ifemembi,” but the criminal complaint in this case notes that his real name is Modestus Nwagubwu Ifemembi, originally of Nigeria. Ifemembi, 48, who previously resided in Aliso Viejo, but relocated to Rockville, Maryland, last year, has worked for USCIS for seven years. Ifemembi is charged in the complaint with one count of unlawfully procuring U.S. citizenship.

Ifemembi made false statements on various government forms to obtain U.S. citizenship, as well as employment with USCIS, according to the affidavit in support of the complaint, which was unsealed this morning.

The press release went on to explain:

After being granted asylum, Ifemembi attended the University of California, Berkeley, which granted him a bachelor’s degree in 2004, and then obtained J.D. from the University of Oregon, School of Law. Then, in late 2010, “Karlos Mourfy” applied for U.S. citizenship and asked to change his name to Ifemembi – requests that were granted in May 2011. Two years later, in 2013, Ifemembi was hired by USCIS, according to the affidavit.

During the investigation into Ifemembi, federal investigators traveled to Africa – including his hometown of Akuma, Nigeria – and searched his Orange County residence in 2019, obtaining evidence about his true identity, including baptism, school and financial records, the affidavit states.

Mayorkas’ checkered past was the focus of an article I wrote in 2020 which documented how he had been investigated by the Office of Inspector General when he was director of United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) during the Obama administration. Mayorkas was found to have acted improperly by demanding USCIS employees “get to yes” and approve applications, even when such approval would have been inappropriate.

Now let’s connect the dots and examine the potential link between the arrest of Mr. Ifemembi and Mayorkas’ ongoing effort to shield immigration fraudsters from detection and consequences for their crimes. (Make no mistake, naturalization fraud is a felony under 18 U.S. Code § 1425).

Additionally, providing false documents and making false statements in conjunction with immigration applications are also felonies.

It was during Mayorkas’ tenure in the Obama administration that Mr. Ifemembi was granted political asylum, lawful immigrant status, and ultimately, U.S. citizenship. It was during Mr. Mayorkas’ tenure at USCIS that Mr. Ifemembi was hired as an employee of that agency.

Mr. Ifemembi worked at USCIS for seven years.

According to the DOJ press release, the investigation that disclosed the allegations of fraud were conducted in 2019, during the Trump administration.

If Mr. Mayorkas takes his responsibilities and oath of office seriously, an audit must be conducted to determine who approved the defendant’s application each step of the way. The process by which he was granted a security clearance to perform his duties must also be reviewed.

Finally, a serious audit must be conducted into every case that Mr. Ifemembi handled to make certain he did not improperly approve applications — especially given the connection between immigration fraud and national security.

Remember — Ifemembi had a law degree. He probably could have earned more money practicing immigration law or other forms of law than he could earn as an employee of USCIS. Working for USCIS also exposed him to the possibility of having his alleged fraud being discovered. The obvious question is why he would assume that risk for less money than he might have earned by not working for the government. This suggests a serious possibility that he “earned” money by acting in a corrupt manner. The other — and even more disturbing — possibility which must be explored is that he could have used his position at USCIS to enable terrorists or criminals to game the immigration system to acquire lawful status in the U.S.

Consider that a 2011 report was issued by the House Intelligence and Counterterrorism Subcommittee on the growing presence of terrorist group Boko Haram in Nigeria, Ifemembi’s country of birth.

Just months ago, the Brookings Institution published a report on rising jihadi terrorism in Africa in the 20 years since 9/11.

In law enforcement there is a saying that if you find a coincidence, keep looking because you are probably on to something. That Mayorkas would seek to protect fraudsters just months after one of his former employees at USCIS was arrested for naturalization fraud is one hell of a coincidence!
