Some Progressives Are Flirting With a $24 to $26 Hourly Minimum Wage

But as economist Thomas Sowell famously explained, “the real minimum wage is always zero.”

The #Fightfor15 is old news, apparently. Some progressive activists and academics are now arguing that the minimum wage should be closer to $26 an hour, claiming that this is the level it would’ve reached if wages had kept up with productivity in recent decades.

The online discourse all started after the publication of a recent piece from the left-leaning Center for Economic and Policy Research titled “The $26 an Hour Minimum Wage.”

“[A $26 hourly minimum wage] may sound pretty crazy, but that’s roughly what the minimum wage would be today if it had kept pace with productivity growth since its value peaked in 1968,” progressive economist Dean Baker wrote. “And, having the minimum wage track productivity growth is not a crazy idea. The national minimum wage did in fact keep pace with productivity growth for the first 30 years after a national minimum wage first came into existence in 1938.”

“Think of what the country would look like if the lowest paying jobs, think of dishwashers or custodians, paid $26 an hour,” Baker continued. “That would mean someone who worked a 2000 hour year would have an annual income of $52,000. This income would put a single mother with two kids at well over twice the poverty level.”

This favorable analysis of the prospect of a $26 minimum wage was reported in many left-leaning media outlets, such as CBS News and the Independent.

Perhaps relatedly, former-Labor-Secretary-turned-progressive-commentator Robert Reich recently tweeted out that “Today seems like a good time to remind you that if wages had kept pace with productivity gains over the last 50 years, the minimum wage would be $24 an hour. $15 is the floor, not the ceiling, of what working people deserve.”

To be clear, support for a $26 minimum wage is still not the majority position on the American Left. Yet the movement is gaining enough traction for the prospect to be worthy of evaluation—and it’s a frightening one.

Let’s assume, for the sake of argument, that Baker is right about productivity and wages, and ignore the fact that this disparity may itself be caused by government rather than private businesses (see https://wtfhappenedin1971.com/). This still doesn’t imply we should raise the minimum wage. Why?

Well, while it might sound idyllic for everyone to make $26 an hour, idealism can’t change economic reality. And, as economist Thomas Sowell famously explained, “the real minimum wage is always zero, regardless of the laws, and that is the wage that many workers receive in the wake of the creation or escalation of a government-mandated minimum wage, because they either lose their jobs or fail to find jobs when they enter the labor force.” (Emphasis mine).

Why is the real minimum wage zero? Because there’s always the option not to employ the worker at all. And if the minimum wage is arbitrarily set at a level above the value of the worker’s labor, employing them would be charity, not business. As nice as it may be to think that dishwashers would receive $26/hour, in many cases, businesses would invest in technology to do the job, hire illegal immigrants, or otherwise contrive to hire far fewer dishwashers.

“The state can legislate a minimum wage rate,” Nobel-Prize-winning economist Milton Friedman famously explained. “It can hardly require employers to hire at that minimum all who were formerly employed at wages below the minimum. It is clearly not in the interest of employers to do so. The effect of the minimum wage is therefore to make unemployment higher than it otherwise would be.”

Many studies have confirmed that a $15 minimum wage would kill millions of jobs in the US. We can reasonably assume that for a $24 or $26 minimum wage, the job-killing effect would be far more pronounced. In fact, the progressive economist who started this whole conversation, Dean Baker, acknowledged as much.

“The $26 an hour is useful as a thought experiment for envisioning what the world might look like today, but it would not be realistic as policy for local, state, or even national minimum wage without many other changes to the economy,” he wrote. “A minimum wage this high would almost certainly lead to large-scale unemployment, and that would be true even if it were phased in over five or six years.”

However, Baker doesn’t view this as an insurmountable hurdle. He argues that “we [would] have to make many other changes in the economy to make [a $26/hour minimum wage] possible,” citing massive regulations and taxation of finance, banking, and corporations. “These changes are well worth making.”

Of course, we all want to see wages go up. But as evidenced by recent raises for Walmart and Costco employees, this occurs in free markets naturally because employers are forced to compete for labor. It can’t occur with top-down force, at least, not without serious fallout.

So, here’s hoping that this misguided, extreme minimum wage argument doesn’t catch on among progressives. A $15 minimum wage would have bad enough economic consequences. To impose a $26/hour wage would do tremendous damage and leave many workers out of a job entirely.

Where’s Kamala? Harris Washes Her Hands of Flailing Joe Biden

As hapless, doddering President Joe Biden struggles and fails on every major issue facing the country, his equally unqualified and incompetent Vice President Kamala Harris is more or less Missing In Action.

For two weeks, since August 26, while Biden bungled the withdrawal from Afghanistan and single-handedly flipped the war on terror in favor of our jihadist enemies, Harris has wisely kept out of public view except for a brief ceremony where she swore in U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Ken Salazar on Thursday. Even then, she ignored questions from reporters.

Harris has not appeared publicly standing with Biden since August 20. Her  schedule has not included any mention of her weekly lunch with the president since July 23.

On Wednesday, Kamala plans to head to California to campaign for embattled California Governor Gavin Newsom in his recall election — not that that will help him any. Understandably, no one in her home state likes Kamala. But at least she won’t have to be in Washington D.C. to take any heat for the world burning on her and Biden’s watch.

Harris Condemns America’s “Racism,” “Sexism,” & “Xenophobia”

On March 19, 2021 , Harris and President Biden traveled to Atlanta to show solidarity with the city’s Asian American community, in the aftermath of an incident where a white man had shot and killed six local Asian women as well as two white people. Though there was no evidence that the shootings had been racially motivated, Harris said in a speech at Emory University: said: “Racism is real in America and it has always been. Xenophobia is real in America and always has been. Sexism, too.” She also suggested that former President Trump was to blame for an alleged spike in anti-Asian crimes that had occurred in the U.S. during 2020: “For the last year, we’ve had people in positions of incredible power scapegoating Asian Americans, people with the biggest pulpits, spreading this kind of hate.”

Black Americans Left Behind Under Biden

Under President Trumps 4 year term, he concentrated on jobs. Heck -he concentrated on making everything in and about America Great Again. Jobs for all Americans, regardless of color, creed, religion or sexual orientation. He created a job market that ensured if you wanted a job there was at least one for you – in any or every profession. Things were great. Well, for anyone with half a brain things were great. ( Liberals unfortunately are in the less than half brain category ). America was strong. Powerful. Wealthy. The economy was the envy of every country. Everything was going well for the citizenry but that was the huge problem for the swamp whose sole intention is to keep we, the people, in bondage. We had to become reliant on the state. Trump had to be destroyed.

Remember, the swamp is as much a GOP problem as a Democrat problem. Corrupt politicians come in all sizes, sexed, colors and religions. From both parties.

In September, 2019 the unemployment rate for Hispanics was at a record low of 3.9% while that of Blacks sat at a record low of 5.5%! The lowest in history. Under President Trump blacks also recorded the lowest levels of poverty – ever. A phenomenal achievement in anyone’s book. Well – unless you are a mentally challenged liberal. Unfortunately close to half of America seems to fall into that sad camp.

Fast forward to 2020/21. After the blatantly stolen election of 2020 which illegally seated a pitiful and mentally deficient Socialist President into the people’s house, things have not been going so well for people of color and other minorities. You know, the ones that Biden promised in his campaign not to leave behind! Hmmmm – another broken promise. Well, let’s be honest, he hadn’t been able to keep one promise yet! He is good at leaving people behind. He just did that in Afghanistan. Intentionally. He is the spawn of Satan.

The trends of unemployment and economic lines and patterns for minorities, especially blacks, is not looking good. In fact it’s looking down right disastrous.

Now that most states are coming out of the insane restrictions put in place during the China Virus and millions of jobs become available, plus despite the doling out of countless millions of tax payer funded dollars ( well – just actually printed out of thin air ) there will be NO ECONOMIC PROGRESS for black households unless they are employed in real jobs. Inflation, a direct result of printing money endlessly, will harm black families more as their wealth and job creation carries on spiraling downwards.

August 2021 unemployment figures, for those that believe one single word this Administration spews out, fell from 5.4% to 5.2%. Black unemployment however rose from 8.2% to 8.8%! That was a 6% spike in just one single month. Just so you get the picture black unemployment in November 2019 under President Trump was at 5.4%.

So – I have to tell you all. Especially my friends of color. The Democrat Party is not the party that historically has ever been good to you. They have never and will never have your best interests at heart. From pushing abortion which murders a disproportionate amount of black babies to employment and financially secure futures, you will always be left behind.

Sad but true.

I am sure that is not a part of the dream.

130 Retired Top Military Officials Call For Austin And Milley To Resign Over Afghanistan

By Liz George, American Military News, September

A letter released Monday calling for the resignation and retirement of Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Mark Milley for their role in the “disastrous withdrawal” of the United States forces in Afghanistan now has the support of 130 retired generals and admirals, increasing from around 90 earlier this week.

Organized by the group Flag Officers 4 America, the veteran officers blasted the top military leaders for “negligence in performing their duties” surrounding President Joe Biden’s “disastrous” withdrawal that left 13 service members dead, as well as hundreds of Americans, and thousands of Afghan allies, stranded behind enemy lines amid the Taliban takeover.

“A fundamental principle in the military is holding those in charge responsible and accountable for their actions or inaction,” the group wrote in a press release. “There must be accountability at all levels for this tragic and avoidable debacle.”

In the letter, the veterans asserted that both Austin and Milley “should have recommended against this dangerous withdrawal in the strongest possible terms.”

“If they did not do everything within their authority to stop the hasty withdrawal, they should resign,” the letter stated. “Conversely, if they did do everything within their ability to persuade the CINC/President to not hastily exit the country without ensuring the safety of our citizens and Afghans loyal to America, then they should have resigned in protest as a matter of conscience and public statement.”

The group went on to say that the consequences of Biden’s “disaster” are “enormous” and will impact the United States for decades “beginning with the safety of Americans and Afghans who are unable to move safely to evacuation points; therefore, being de facto hostages of the Taliban at this time.”

“The death and torture of Afghans has already begun and will result in a human tragedy of major proportions. The loss of billions of dollars in advanced military equipment and supplies falling into the hands of our enemies is catastrophic,” the veterans wrote. “The damage to the reputation of the United States is indescribable. We are now seen, and will be seen for many years, as an unreliable partner in any multinational agreement or operation. Trust in the United States is irreparably damaged.”

T he group claimed that America’s adversaries are now “emboldened” to work against America “due to the weakness displayed in Afghanistan,” adding that China, Russia, Pakistan, Iran and North Korea all benefitted from the chaotic withdrawal.

TAKE ACTION: Senator Manchin, and other moderate Democrats, are threatening passage of $3.5 trillion socialist spending bill.

The House speaker, Nancy Pelosi, is trailed by reporters as she departs a meeting with fellow House Democrats about Joe Biden’s sweeping plan to expand spending on social programs, at the US Capitol on Monday. Photograph: Jonathan Ernst/Reuters

Please see bottom of article for individual emails prepared for you to send to the senators.

CNN published an article titled:  Manchin upends Democrats’ push to enact Biden’s agenda this month, calling for ‘pause’ on $3.5 trillion bill.  The article reports in part:

Sen. Joe Manchin, the most pivotal Democratic swing vote in the Senate, threw a major wrench in his party’s carefully crafted plans to pass a massive $3.5 trillion bill by month’s end, demanding they take a “strategic pause” before considering a sweeping bill to implement much of President Joe Biden’s agenda.

Manchin, who has long been skeptical of the staggering price tag, made clear Thursday that he’s also opposed to the timeframe Democratic leaders had been charting out for months, a position that now threatens both the larger Democratic-only proposal but also the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill that passed the Senate earlier this summer.

In a strongly worded op-ed published in the Wall Street Journal on Thursday, the moderate senator called on fellow Democrats to “hit a strategic pause on the budget-reconciliation legislation,” referring to the bill that can be approved in the Senate by just a simple majority — meaning all 50 members of the Senate Democratic Caucus have to support the bill or it will collapse since all 50 Republicans are expected to oppose it.

“Instead of rushing to spend trillions on new government programs and additional stimulus funding, Congress should hit a strategic pause on the budget-reconciliation legislation,” he wrote in the op-ed. “A pause is warranted because it will provide more clarity on the trajectory of the pandemic, and it will allow us to determine whether inflation is transitory or not.”

High inflation and gas prices caused by recent excessive congressional spending are hurting millions of American families and threatening our economy.   Fox News Poll reports: “83% worry about inflation, majority says benefits hurting economy.  Inflation tops the list of economic concerns for voters– ahead of taxes, unemployment, the federal deficit, and interest rates.”   The increasing gasoline prices and energy costs will likely go even higher with the left’s obsession with the New Green Deal which is part of the $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill.

It is fiscally irresponsible for congress to throw more money on the inflation fire that will break the budgets of more American families and burden them with entitlement programs that will endure forever.   Additionally, the $3.5 trillion plan will require much more money from the private sector to pay for more entitlement programs thus pushing America even closer to socialism while hurting our robust economy.  This bill will increase energy costs and our dependence on foreign oil thereby weakening national security.

Florida Family Association has prepared emails for you to send to encourage Senator Manchin and other moderate Democrats to stand firm against the socialist spending bill.  This is our chance to try to slow fiscal insanity and socialism.  It is important for your influence in this situation that each senator receives their own email without inclusion of email addresses for the other representatives.  Florida Family Association urges you to take the few minutes that will be needed to send all seven emails for this important situation.

Dear Senator (enter last name),

I urge you to oppose the $3.5 trillion spending plan because it will throw more money on the inflation fire that will break the budgets of more American families, burden the private sector with entitlement programs that will endure forever  and eventually hurt our current robust economy.  This bill will push America closer to socialism than ever before.  It will increase energy costs and our dependence on foreign oil thereby weakening national security.

Biden’s National Security Advisor Refuses to Call the Taliban an Enemy of the U.S.

My latest in PJ Media:

On Tuesday, Old Joe Biden’s callow national security advisor, Jake Sullivan, sat down with MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace, who asked him: “What is the Taliban? Are they now our frenemy, are they our adversary, are they our enemy? Are they our — what are they?” Sullivan refused to be pinned down, saying: “Well, it’s hard to put a label on it, in part because we have yet to see what they are going to be now that they’re in control — physical control of Afghanistan.” Sure. Sullivan couldn’t very well call the Taliban an enemy when he himself has strongly intimated that Biden’s handlers are about to start showering American taxpayer dollars upon them. The Taliban, however, clearly don’t see the U.S. as anything but an enemy.

A Taliban spokesman made that clear back in 2014, telling NBC News that Barack Obama’s trade of five Taliban commanders for deserter Bowe Bergdahl was the first time the “enemy,” that is, the United States, had “officially recognized our status.” Before that, in 2012, the leader of the Taliban at that time, Mullah Mohammad Omar, urged “every brave Afghan in the ranks of the foreign forces and their Afghan hirelings…to strike them.” He stated that “jihadist activities inside the circle of the state militias are the most effective stratagem. Its dimension will see further expansion, organization and efficiency. Increase your efforts to expand the area of infiltration in the ranks of the enemy.”

Both of those Taliban statements came after none other than Joe Biden himself sat down in December 2011 with Leslie H. Gelb of Newsweek/The Daily Beast “to do what he loves best–talk about foreign policy,” and declared: “Look, the Taliban per se is not our enemy. That’s critical. There is not a single statement that the president has ever made in any of our policy assertions that the Taliban is our enemy because it threatens U.S. interests. If, in fact, the Taliban is able to collapse the existing government, which is cooperating with us in keeping the bad guys from being able to do damage to us, then that becomes a problem for us. So there’s a dual track here: One, continue to keep the pressure on al Qaeda and continue to diminish them. Two, put the government in a position where they can be strong enough that they can negotiate with and not be overthrown by the Taliban. And at the same time try to get the Taliban to move in the direction to see to it that they, through reconciliation, commit not to be engaged with al Qaeda or any other organization that they would harbor to do damage to us and our allies.”

None of that was accomplished, of course, and now Biden’s handlers are poised to start the gravy train for the Taliban. When George Stephanopoulos asked Sullivan about the possibility of giving aid to the Taliban, the crack national security expert was no more forthcoming than he was when he was asked if the Taliban was the enemy, but he made it clear that the Biden administration is strongly considering giving aid to the Taliban, as long as the jihadis agree to a fig leaf of adherence to various “commitments.”

There is more. Read the rest here.

Americans Need An 800-pound Gorilla in D.C. to Lobby for their Families

Lyman Stone is a pro-family scholar affiliated with the neo-conservative American Enterprise Institute. A prolific writer and Lutheran missionary, his work has lately graced the pages of America’s Gray Lady, the New York TimesIn his recent missive to that paper, he advocates giving children the right to vote – all children, regardless of age. He argues that such a measure would be a long-overdue corrective measure:

…if we simply apply the same principles to children that we apply throughout the rest of our democracy, the logical conclusion is obvious: The voting age should be “at birth,” and parents should be able to provide whatever degree of assistance is necessary to enable their children to have their interests represented. That a child is too young to speak or walk is no argument against child voting, since many other nonverbal, immobile people who need daily assistance are also allowed to vote.

This is an intriguing idea. Yes, children are not getting a fair shake in the US or in any globalist regime. The reason is that globalism values everything solely on the basis of economic utility — sort of like Marxism with a government-subsidised corporate sector thrown in. Importing more consumers to prop up the economy is much easier than raising fertility. It doesn’t work in the long term, and ultimately destroys social cohesion. But that doesn’t matter to globalists.

Yet the materialist/consumerist globalist mindset has thoroughly set in among the population. Children are not a priority. We are having fewer of them. They are expensive, get in the way of career advancement and are a hassle. They don’t fit with a hedonistic lifestyle. That is how many have come to look at it. We are prisoners of our earthly ambitions.

It was demographer Paul Demeny who first proposed children having the vote back in 1986, his reasoning being that doing so would boost flagging fertility, as family size would have a political impact. This political clout would lead to pro-family laws. Ahead of his time, Demeny said, “Old people are currently the coalition that have a huge inbuilt advantage in representative democratic politics.”

Do they ever!

In a true democracy, children voting would certainly make a difference. But the United States is not a democracy, nor has it ever been one. This is a major reason Demeny’s idea, so astutely outlined by Mr Stone, may be a non-starter. Bear with me on this.

In 1787, as delegates left the Constitutional Convention at Philadelphia’s Independence Hall, an elderly lady asked Benjamin Franklin, “Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?” Franklin replied, “A republic– if you can keep it.”

America was founded as a democratic republic. Not as a democracy. That is a huge distinction overlooked by many among that shrinking segment of Americans who are even aware of Benjamin Franklin.

Now how does this relate to Mr. Stone and his far-sighted idea about giving children the vote? My bone to pick with him is not one of policy but of politics.

The more Mr. Stone and his colleagues in the commentariat tell us that the US is a democracy, the more people believe it. This false belief that our government is in any way democratic aside from the biennial pay-to-play slugfests known as elections bolsters its legitimacy. This is a huge disservice to American families because it deludes people into believing that what ails them can be remedied at the ballot box. Sadly, that is not the case. American families need to wake up and understand that they do not live in a democracy or a republic. We live in an empire with weakened democratic institutions that have a quite limited impact.

The US claims to have a representative government while children and generations unborn are saddled with crushing public debt, which will profoundly impact their lives. They have had no representation in this whatsoever. The American political class decided long ago to import new consumers to prop up the system rather than make life easier for families. And they continue to pile debt upon more debt. Not a fair shake for children.

Is a democracy or a democratic republic doing this? No.

The executive branch blithely ignores popular sentiment. The legislating judiciary frequently negates measures passed by popular vote or elected officials. Big Tech, functioning as a quasi-governmental public utility like the old telephone companies, bans and censors people at will.

As one who once toiled in the seat of the empire, I can tell you what the children of America need in order to wring any measure of consideration from the powers that be: a lobby.

Not just a lobbyist, but a full-blown children’s lobby to be known as the Family Lobby. If you don’t have a lobby in DC, you’re out of luck. Middle-class taxpayers don’t have a lobby. Look what has happened to them. Special interests have lobbies — just look at how well Big Tech, Big Pharma and the defence contractors make out.

Meanwhile the American standard of living continues to decline. The pro-natalist agenda needs a lobby that knows how to fight in the swamp of public policy formulation. Pro-family advocates need to get pragmatic. There is an old saying that two things you don’t want to see made are sausages and laws. Believe me, it gets ugly to get anything done.

Giving children the franchise to be exercised through their families would certainly shake things up. But it is naïve to believe that this has any chance of being enacted. The well-being of society’s children does not concern our ruling elite. Mr Stone’s sentiments are noble. But children will not get the vote in America — at least under the current system of government.

The thinking in early America was that to have a say in society one should have a stake in it. Materially, this manifested in the property qualification for enfranchisement. Morally, this manifested in strong families. The family has more of a stake in society than any racial, ethnic, business, professional or educational lobby. Families are the building blocks of society upon which the prosperity and well-being of all else depends. You can’t fool Mother Nature.

Once upon a time American government was family-centred. Society was overwhelmingly comprised of nuclear families. The male head of the family voted on behalf of the family. When a son reached adulthood he was expected to head his own family and he would cast a ballot for them. The system was actually “one man, one vote”.

While the woke among us would regard such an arrangement as beyond evil — patriarchal, for starters — that is simply the way it was.

Over time emphasis shifted from families to individuals.  “A nation of individuals” was a mantra by the early 20th century. Hyper-individualism leads to a contagion of being out for number one. We see this in the “greed is good” ethos. We see this when one individual decides they are somehow offended and the majority must curtail their freedom of expression and modify their lifestyle to accommodate them.

In his 1978 Harvard University Commencement Address, Alexander Solzhenitsyn noted that in America “The defense of individual rights has reached such extremes as to make society as a whole defenseless against certain individuals. It is time, in the West, to defend not so much human rights as human obligations.”

The chattering class dumped Solzhenitsyn.

Now we’ve moved on from individualism to group entitlement, aka identity politics. Affirmative action, goals, quotas, and “equity” (as opposed to fairness) deny highly qualified people jobs and university admissions. Families nurture and educate their children only to see their generation-long sacrifice dismissed when their children are denied equal opportunity. The nuclear family is the Number One casualty of political correctness.

What America really needs is a spiritual rebirth. It will only happen when people are ready for it. A divided and confused multicultural society currently lacks the social cohesion to throw off the yoke of a family-unfriendly regime.

So I will join with Mr Stone in calling for the rights of children to be represented — through their families. Giving children the right to vote would be one way to do it. But a robust, proactive Family Lobby should first fiercely advocate for family-friendly incentives similar to those enacted in Hungary.

It can be done. A retrenchment of empire is certainly worth saving the American family. Why should there be a military presence in 150 countries when the homeland deteriorates? It is all a question of priorities.

The cardinal rule of American politics is that the squeaky wheel gets the grease. That is how the big lobbies as well as Black Lives Matter and the PC anti-monument types have been winning of late. They act up, politicians cave, laws are not enforced. In today’s America, these sorts of tactics are much more effective than voting. Some democracy!

Middle-class taxpayers and pro-family types are busy working and taking care of their families, so they usually don’t take their complaints to the streets. Perhaps there is a lesson in that. But for now, the best strategy is to beat the family-unfriendly globalists at their own game. We need that lobby.

Bringing in Afghan Refugees with All of Their ‘Luggage’

By Dr. Stephen M. Kirby

What’s not being talked about.

Afghanistan has fallen to the Taliban and American forces are withdrawing.  As with such ventures, this has resulted in tens, if not hundreds of thousands of Afghan refugees fleeing their own country.  And as night follows day, this has also resulted in calls by many American individuals and organizations to bring in as many of those refugees as possible, because we “owe” it to the Afghans.

To hear such claims, one would think that these many thousands of refugees will immediately become part of America, sharing our values and ideas, and contributing to our communities.

What is not being talked about are the values, ideas, and culture those refugees are bringing with them.

In order to better understand the people many are calling to be brought in by the tens of thousands, let’s look at some considerations about the society from which these refugees are coming.

National Security

There are two national security issues that must be acknowledged.

First, a 2019 study found that 13% of Afghans had a lot of (4%) or a little (9%) sympathy for the Taliban.[1]  This means that for every 100,000 Afghan refugees brought into the United States, we could expect about 13,000 of them to have varying degrees of sympathy for the Taliban.

Then we need to take into consideration that 39% of Afghans think that “suicide bombing” in defense of Islam is often or sometimes justified.[2]  If we use the 4% number for those with a lot of sympathy for the Taliban, this means that out of every 100,000 Afghans we could have up to about 1,560 Afghans believing that “suicide bombing” could often be justified.[3]

Combining these two issues means we could be bringing in a potentially significant base of support for a jihadist group; and that base of support could include a large number willing to engage in jihadist attacks in the United States using explosives.

VIDEO VAX HYSTERIA: CDC Dirty in 1976 – Worse Today. Tools to Fight.

45 years ago, the federal government, lead by the CDC, used fear to coerce millions of Americans into getting a “vaccine” for the Swine Flu. The shot killed more than the flu.

Sound familiar?

Today, it’s the same thing, only this time the folks in government are raking-in huge profits (Pfizer) along with the pharmaceuticals. Ivermectin works both as a prophylactic and as a treatment with a very high success rate. This virus has a 99% survival rate, thus none of the “vaccine” hysteria makes any sense to a rational person, unless it’s about the money and power (or power and money).

Graham Ledger speaks with Del Bigtree, founder of the non-profit Informed Consent Action Network, about why patriotic Americans must fight back against government forcing Americans to get a shot as part of the largest, most dangerous human trial in world history. Watch:

MUST WATCH — The Story of American Hero, Army Ranger Nicholas Moore

Nick Moore’s life is… “A riveting foxhole-level view of more than a decade of modern war.” – General Stanley A. McChrystal

Tom Trento interviews Sergeant First Class – Nicholas Moore (ret) in a two-part series about Moore’s, 14 years as an Army Ranger, U.S. Army’s 75th Ranger Regiment, fighting on the battlefields of Afghanistan and Iraq during the Global War on Terror, 1999 – 2013. From frozen mountaintops to dusty city streets and everything in between, Nick’s book, “Run to the Sound of the Guns” tells the compelling and deeply personal account of a husband and father who nearly lost his life ‘leading the way’ in America’s secretive global wars. In this interview Tom talks with Nick about his book and his years serving the country he loves.

In Iraq, Nicholas participated in the rescue of Private Jessica Lynch, hunted Iraq’s Most Wanted and experienced brutal street combat, including 160 night-time missions over one 90-day deployment in the insurgent stronghold of Mosul. While serving in Afghanistan, he was also part of the search and rescue operation for Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell (author of Lone Survivor).

Amazingly, Nick and was on the ground again and part of the recovery team when a Chinook helicopter, Extortion 1-7 was shot down resulting in the death of 38 men, including 17 Navy SEALs and one military working dog. It was the single greatest loss of special operations personnel to date.

Reid: You’re Not Pro-Life If You Oppose Vax Mandates And Abortion

Friday on MSNBC’s The ReidOut, racist propagandist Joy Reid declared falsely that Republicans can’t claim to be pro-life if they ban COVID mask mandates, “put bounties on pregnant women,” and support former President Donald Trump, who still lives in the heads of Democrats rent-free.

“You can’t call yourself a pro-life party if your policy goals are to allow the maximum number of people to die of COVID, including children, by banning mask mandates in businesses and schools and raising doubts about vaccines,” Reid ranted falsely.

“You can’t call yourself the pro-life, pro-family party if your policy goals are to put bounties on pregnant women and to force teenage girls to give birth after getting pregnant as a result of incest and rape…” she added. Democrats always raise the almost non-existent issue of pregnancy through incest and rape, because they see that as the weak link in the anti-abortion position.

“The Republican Party is a lot of things; anti-democracy, anti-voting, anti-history, anti-facts, deeply opposed to anti-racism,” she claimed, in a staggering example of leftist projection. Literally everything she said is in fact characteristic of the left, with the exception of the right’s opposition to so-called “anti-racism” — because anti-racism, as the left defines it, is racism.

“What they are not is pro-life,” she falsely concluded. The GOP is “now loudly and proudly the pro-death party.” What laughable projection. From the political weaponization of the pandemic, which has led to far greater numbers of death than the disease itself, to the genocide carried out through abortion, it is Progressivism that is the death cult.

Reid Claims That Fox News Anchors Want Their Own Viewers to Die of COVID

During a July 19, 2021 appearance on CBS’s The Late Show, Reid was asked for her thoughts about anchors on other television networks who questioned whether people should take the coronavirus vaccine. She replied: “Number one, it doesn’t make sense to me why folks at that particular network [Fox News], which I think we all know who we mean, would want to kill their own viewers. Their viewers are older. Their viewers are more susceptible to COVID. And I don’t understand what the point is of killing them because everyone on air at Fox has been vaccinated. I would put any money on it. They were vaccinated first. I’m sure they shoved little old ladies out of the way to get their vaccines first. They’re all vaccinated. They’re living in remote cabins… They’re all vaccinated. And so, if they’re telling you not to do it, you have to ask yourself why they don’t care about you when you’re their base. And again, the people who are saying this, what is in it for them for their own people to die?”

Thomas Jefferson: The Media Betrayed America

There is plenty of finger-pointing going on right now over who is to blame for America’s shockingly rapid decline. Joe Biden, Donald Trump, radical Democrats, Trumper Republicans, public education, universities, Hollywood culture, woke culture in general and so on.

But Thomas Jefferson would point to something far more fundamental in the nation’s decline: the media. In 1786, he wrote from Paris to James Curry:

“Our liberty depends on the freedom of the press, and that cannot be limited without being lost.”

Freedom of the press has been lost by being willingly given away in service to a single party, rather than a watchdog.

Yes, it is the radicalized Democrat Party making it happen in government at the moment. But it is the media that has betrayed Americans by becoming a one-party propagandistic organ of both misinformation and squashing real stories, rather than being information providers to the American public that Jefferson understood to be essential to the Republic.

Jefferson keenly had so much more to say on this In one of the letters that Jefferson wrote from Paris to Edward Carrington, whom Jefferson appointed as a delegate to represent Virginia in the Continental Congress, he makes perfectly clear the critical importance of unrestricted avenues of information to the American people.

“The people are the only censors of their governors: and even their errors will tend to keep these to the true principles of their institution. To punish these errors too severely would be to suppress the only safeguard of the public liberty. The way to prevent these irregular interpositions of the people is to give them full information of their affairs thro’ the channel of the public papers, & to contrive that those papers should penetrate the whole mass of the people. The basis of our governments being the opinion of the people, the very first object should be to keep that right; and were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter. But I should mean that every man should receive those papers & be capable of reading them.

Jefferson saw the media as unfettered providers of information to the American public as more essential than the government itself. Of course, this explains why the very First Amendment in the Bill of Rights includes both freedom of speech and of the press, specifically that the government should not “abridge” either. “Abridge” means to curtail a right or privilege. And both free speech and freedom of the press involves the American public being informed in the public square. Newspapers were distributed at the time of Jefferson’s writings and for more than another century, largely in the literal public squares of cities and towns, where speakers would also stand to give opinions from religion to politics to anything else. Is it not clear that Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and the rest act now as the public square?

Jefferson wrote:

“Reason and free enquiry are the only effectual agents against error…Reason and persuasion are the only practicable instruments. To make way for these, free enquiry must be indulged; and how can we wish others to indulge it while we refuse it ourselves.”

Yet top government officials, including White House mouthpiece Jen Psaki, openly call on all social media outlets, along with old-line corporate media, to ban “misinformation.” Let us be very honest about this, misinformation is the left’s euphemism for information they don’t want out or opinions they want squashed.

Psaki told reporters that any American banned from, say, Facebook (a major public square for free speech) for spreading “misinformation” should be banned from all social media outlets — all of the public squares of today. “You shouldn’t be banned from one platform and not others for providing misinformation out there,” she said. All public squares must be closed to those who disagree with the government. Closed for good. Memory holed.

That is a powerful member of the government calling on the media to spread the government request (so far a request) that the gatekeepers of the public square block and ban information that the government does not want Americans to get. There is plenty of misinformation floating around. There always has been. But a core essential of America’s grand success is that the government was not allowed to determine what was misinformation and what was not because any sentient being should realize that will lead to government censorship in about five seconds.

How does this work? Psaki’s boss, the President of the United States, has openly lied to the American people dozens of times just regarding the Afghanistan fiasco. But of course that is not the misinformation she is talking about. Questioning the innumerable irregularities of the 2020 election is the misinformation she is talking about, and the social media public square along with the corporate media immediately oblige. Reporting Hunter Biden’s laptop that could incriminate the Democrat running for President is misinformation. Reporting on it minimally now that the Democrat President is in the White House is not. This is also true of Covid, masking and vaccines. So epidemiologists at Stanford, MIT and Harvard who question the government’s pronouncements on Covid are literally banned by the public square of social media and mostly by the corporate media — in the same way Hunter’s laptop was and questioning the 2020 election remains — because they do not align with the CDC, which is part of the federal government.

But of course this is the whole crux; just some people are to be banned from the public square. WrongThink people, to use Orwellian terms, will be silenced. By the government. And the media is not just compliant, but act as censors themselves working in league with the government. It’s possible that Jefferson was so worried about the government infringement, rightly so, he never considered that the media would voluntarily give over their First Amendment rights to the government.

Video: Trump Warned in 2017 ‘Hasty’ Afghanistan Withdrawal ‘Would Create Vacuum That al Qaeda, ISIS Would Instantly Fill’

Watch. How different the world would look right now if President Trump was still in charge. Ugh.

Video: Trump warned in 2017 ‘hasty’ Afghanistan withdrawal ‘would create vacuum that al Qaeda, ISIS would instantly fill’

By America Military News, August 29, 2021

In a 2017 speech to American troops, Former President Donald Trump warned that a “hasty” withdrawal from Afghanistan “would create a vacuum that terrorists…would instantly fill,” including ISIS and al Qaeda.

“First, our nation must seek an honorable and enduring outcome worthy of the tremendous sacrifices that have been made, especially the sacrifices of lives,” Trump said at the time. “The men and women who serve our nation in combat deserve a plan for victory.  They deserve the tools they need, and the trust they have earned, to fight and to win.”

“Second, the consequences of a rapid exit are both predictable and unacceptable.  9/11, the worst terrorist attack in our history, was planned and directed from Afghanistan because that country was ruled by a government that gave comfort and shelter to terrorists,” he continued. “A hasty withdrawal would create a vacuum that terrorists, including ISIS and al Qaeda, would instantly fill, just as happened before September 11th.”

“The vacuum we created by leaving too soon gave safe haven for ISIS to spread, to grow, recruit, and launch attacks,” Trump cautioned. “We cannot repeat in Afghanistan the mistake our leaders made in Iraq.”

Trump said the security threats in Afghanistan and the broader region are “immense,” noting that 20 U.S.-designated foreign terrorist organizations are active in Afghanistan and Pakistan, making it the highest regional concentration in the world.

“No one denies that we have inherited a challenging and troubling situation in Afghanistan and South Asia, but we do not have the luxury of going back in time and making different or better decisions,” Trump said, adding, “We must address the reality of the world as it exists right now — the threats we face, and the confronting of all of the problems of today, and extremely predictable consequences of a hasty withdrawal.”

TRUMP PEACE: After one year Abraham Accords has brought booming trade between Israel and Arab neighbors

For decades Israel was completely isolated in the Middle East. No longer. President Trump’s miraculous Abraham Accords has brought booming trade between Israel and her Arab neighbors. And it’s only the beginning. President Trump should be recognized as a hero to the Jewish people.

Trump’s Middle East peace is one of the greatest historical achievements in recent memory and yet many Americans haven’t a clue because the Democrat-criminal-media-complex has censored or scrubbed this monumental achievement.

Assessing Israel’s Trade With Its Arab Neighbours

By Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, September 2, 2021

By Tony Blair, Former UK Prime Minister and Executive Chairman of the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change

The paper we publish today shows what the future promise is of the Middle East. Where peace is in place, economies prosper. Where it isn’t, huge potential is being held back. This paper offers an overview of the long-term development of trade between Israel and Arab partners where a peace agreement is already in place: the Palestinian Authority, Jordan and Egypt. In the coming weeks, we will also publish our detailed analysis of these relationships.

What our research shows is that while Israel’s trade with Middle Eastern markets is already quite considerable, there is still significant, untapped potential for Israeli-Arab trade and economic cooperation. It also highlights how peace agreements have helped economic development—not only by opening up new trade routes but also because the sides enjoyed significant dividends from the agreements, as funds that would have gone on defence could be invested elsewhere. The peace agreements with Israel enabled Jordan and Egypt to access significant international aid, as well as preferential trade arrangements with the United States. The research offers a glimpse of what cooperation could mean for this region—in technology, culture and trade, as well as further prospects for economic development.

While Israel and the Palestinian Authority have close trading links, this research further highlights the growing dependence of the Palestinian economy on Israel in recent years. In 2016, Israel was the source of some 60 per cent of Palestinian recorded imports of goods and the destination of 85 per cent of Palestinian recorded exports of goods. If unrecorded trade is taken into consideration, Israel’s total share grows to two-thirds of imports of goods and more than 90 per cent of exports of goods. Moreover, the number of Palestinian labourers employed in Israel increased significantly from 40,000 in 2002 to 130,000 in 2016. To support a future independent and economically viable state, the Palestinian economy must be allowed to grow and develop beyond Israel.

Without a final status agreement with the Palestinians, Israel’s overall security-related costs will remain at a relatively high level of close to 15 per cent of GDP. Resolution of the Palestinian conflict could cut these costs, possibly by as much as half. The economic cost for the Palestinians of the continuing conflict with Israel is enormous—and we are now at the end of three lost decades of economic growth since the First Intifada.

It is, however, interesting to see beginnings of trade between Israel and Gulf countries. According to our analysis of figures, Israeli exports to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) bloc is around $1 billion. All Israeli exports to the GCC market are currently indirect, through third countries; sometimes channelled through Jordan or Turkey, but mostly via European and other non-MENA countries. Trade is growing, but to truly tap into the major potential of these markets, we will need a regional approach to the peace process, one that puts the Palestinian issue on a path to resolution. There is enormous potential if political constraints on exports to the much larger GCC and other main Arab markets can be removed.

This region is undergoing huge transition, where the ultimate goal should be open, rule-based economies and religious tolerance. Within this wider regional context, Israel’s capabilities and economic strengths should allow it to play a much more central role in regional economic cooperation. If political barriers can be removed, Israel’s contribution to the Middle East would be of critical importance, providing viable solutions to some of the overwhelming challenges of the region, including in the areas of water, energy and sustainable industrial development.

FLORIDA: Trump Flotilla Returns Sunday 9/12/2001 With Second Attempt At World Record Recognition

Florida is Trump country. President Trump must run for POTUS in 2024 and take down the Left.

Trump Flotilla returns Sunday with second attempt at world record recognition

By NFW, September 5, 2021

After hundreds of Donald Trump supporters showed up for a boat parade last year, organizers are hoping for another “Yuge!” turnout this Labor Day weekend.

On Sunday, organizers of the 2021 Patriots United Trump Flotilla will work to make history by becoming the “World’s Largest Boat Parade.” Boaters from around the world are invited to come out and join the flotilla, which will start its route west of the Brooks Bridge and travel under the Destin Bridge as the finish.

After the event, participants are invited to enjoy the local waterways or hang out at the famous Crab Island.

“You know you want to show people your boat and make history at the same time,” the event website says. “You don’t need an excuse to participate, but you know you want to!!!!”

The event is organized by Anne Ziegenhorn and Deidre Cannon, co-administrators of the “I’m a Florida Trump Girl” Facebook page, and David and Chandra Rich of Gas Monkey Propane, according to an event website.

In 2020, boats of all sizes sporting American flags and Trump memorabilia joined with another boat parade to make an attempt at the world record.

According to the Guinness Book of World Records’ website, their current record holder is a 1,180-boat parade held as part of the Malaysia Day celebrations in Kemaman, Terengganu, Malaysia, on Sept. 13, 2014.

This year, the Patriots United Trump Flotilla team is bringing in its own professional audit team to verify and certify the size of the local parade.

Registration for the event is $20 and is available at https://patriotsunitedtrumpflotilla.com/ through Saturday.

Funds raised after paying the registration, accountants and any other incidentals will be used to help provide explant surgery for women who have had adverse reactions to breast implants.
