‘This Never Happened’: Sources Close To Trump Rally To His Defense Over Atlantic Story

President Donald Trump was quick to deny a recent report from The Atlantic, which alleged that he had said a number of disrespectful things about fallen American service members — and in the days that followed, a number of others have gone on record to support him.

Trump claimed that the story had been invented to help The Atlantic “gain some relevance.”

First Lady Melania Trump made a rare public statement as well, saying that the story was “not true” and adding, “It has become a very dangerous time when anonymous sources are believed above all else, & no one knows their motivation. This is not journalism – It is activism. And it is a disservice to the people of our great nation.”

Former White House press secretary Sarah Sanders noted that she was there at the time Trump was supposed to have made the reported comments — and she said simply, “This never happened.”

Dan Scavino also said that he was with President Trump in France and called the report “complete lies.”

General Keith Kellogg, national security adviser to Vice President Mike Pence, also defended the president, saying, “The Atlantic story is completely false. Absolutely lacks merit. I’ve been by the President’s side. He has always shown the highest respect to our active duty troops and veterans with utmost respect paid to those who have given the ultimate sacrifice and those wounded in battle.”

Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert Wilkie joined CNN’s Dana Bash and offered his own defense of the president Sunday, saying that he had not heard Trump disparage American service members and adding, “I would be offended too if I thought it was true. Again, I think ‘anonymous’ are the same people that brought you fake heart attacks, fake strokes, Russian collusion.”

WATCH:

Former National Security Adviser John Bolton — who left the White House and the president’s favor in very public fashion — said in his book that weather and security were the primary factors that ultimately canceled Trump’s visit to Belleau Woods in France.

Bolton also told Fox News White House correspondent John Roberts that if the canceled trip had been the result of a presidential temper tantrum, he would have given it a full chapter in his book.

The Federalist’s Ben Domenech acknowledged the many hurtful things President Trump had said about his late father-in-law — Republican Arizona Sen. John McCain — but also noted that The Atlantic had not exactly “clothed itself in glory” with regard to journalistic integrity.

WATCH:

Domenech tweeted a similar sentiment when the story broke, saying, “I’m confident I have better sources within this White House than @JeffreyGoldberg, and I expect that upon investigation his anonymously sourced story will live up to the quality we can expect from The Atlantic under his leadership.”

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany called the story “garbage,” adding, “the liberal activists at The Atlantic are uninterested in the truth and they are only interested in peddling conspiracy laden propaganda.”

And they were not alone.

Fox News reporter Jennifer Griffin said that she was able to corroborate some details of The Atlantic’s story — but her sources were kept anonymous as well.

Bin Laden’s niece: ‘It’s very worrying that the left has aligned itself with people who share’ jihad ideology

The main story here is interesting enough, but there is something else going on here that is just as interesting. The New York Post says: “‘You look at all the terrorist attacks that have happened in Europe over the past 19 years. They have completely shaken us to the core … [Radical Islam] has completely infiltrated our society,’ bin Ladin continued. ‘In the US it’s very worrying that the left has aligned itself completely with the people who share that ideology.’”

What did Noor bin Ladin really say in the place where the New York Post has “Radical Islam” in brackets? It may be possible, since there is an ellipsis right before this, that Noor bin Ladin identified what she was talking about in a part that the Post didn’t quote and just said “It has completely infiltrated our society.” However, if she had said the words “Radical Islam,” with something else in between, the Jon Levine could easily have quoted her as saying “Radical Islam…has completely infiltrated our society.” So what did she say? “Jihad”? “Islam”? With Sohrab Ahmari and John Podhoretz on their staff, it’s highly likely that the New York Post is engaged in a cowardly sanitizing of Ms. bin Ladin’s language that they consider “Islamophobic.”

“Osama bin Laden’s niece says only Trump can prevent another 9/11,” by Jon Levine, New York Post, September 5, 2020:

Another 9/11-style attack may be just around the corner if Joe Biden is elected president, warns Noor bin Ladin, the niece of Sept. 11 terror mastermind Osama bin Laden.

“ISIS proliferated under the Obama/Biden administration, leading to them coming to Europe. Trump has shown he protects America and us by extension from foreign threats by obliterating terrorists at the root and before they get a chance to strike,” bin Ladin, 33, told The Post in her first-ever interview.

Bin Ladin (whose branch of the family has always spelled their name differently than her infamous uncle) lives in Switzerland but said she considers herself “an American at heart.” A full size US flag hung in her childhood room at age 12 and her dream vacation is an RV trip across America.

The stunning, Swiss-born bin Ladin says she is all in for Trump in 2020, calling the election the most important in a generation.

“I have been a supporter of President Trump since he announced he was running in the early days in 2015. I have watched from afar and I admire this man’s resolve,” she said. “He must be reelected … It’s vital for the future of not only America, but western civilization as a whole.”

“You look at all the terrorist attacks that have happened in Europe over the past 19 years. They have completely shaken us to the core … [Radical Islam] has completely infiltrated our society,” bin Ladin continued. “In the US it’s very worrying that the left has aligned itself completely with the people who share that ideology.”

While Trump has long been a polarizing figure in the United States, he is even more toxic in Europe, where views of US leadership have often plummeted since he took office. A 2018 Gallup poll found just 18% of Swiss citizens approved of his job performance.

Noor, who said she regularly wears a “Make America Great Again” hat (and occasionally a Trump bedtime onesie), has had to confront many Trump-haters on her side of the Atlantic. During a recent trip to the grocery store while wearing the iconic red cap, Noor was accosted.

“I am minding my own business and this woman in her late 50s charges toward me and starts speaking very loudly and aggressively to me,” she recalled. “She’s yelling at me and saying how can I be wearing this and Trump is the worst president ever and she’s basically dumping on my beloved president … She told me three times, ‘You’re stupid.’ I kept my cool, and needless to say I kept my hat!”…

“You do have a situation now in America where you have people like Ilhan Omar who actively hate your country,” bin Ladin said, noting how Omar had urged “compassionate” sentences for 13 ISIS recruits busted in her home state of Minnesota.

“It’s an honor to be able to go and live in the United States and make the most out of all the opportunities,” bin Ladin said, choking up. “If she hates it so much why doesn’t she leave.”…

FLORIDA: Leftists Deface Trump Billboard with ‘F__k UR Guns!’

We conservatives know the double standard, hypocritical leftists have no  respect for our 1st Amendment unless what is spoken, written, demonstrated etc. supports their socialist Marxist message.

If what we say or do doesn’t support their socialist message; reflects conservative values or in this case our choice for re-electing POTUS Trump then the left thinks we don’t have 1st Amendment rights.  As a direct, local example, the following involves the defacing of Trump/Pence Billboards excellently erected locally by a team of volunteers – see their efforts.

WATCH THE WINDER HAVEN 912 VIDEO HERE

The co-leader of the volunteer billboard construction team wrote the following:

Hello to All

Some of you have already heard about the “attack” on our Trump BILLBOARDS. Severe damage was done to two signs at LeadFeather Gun shop and range. Please if you are on FB search “leadfeather” (see link below) and like the group. Will, the son of the owner Bill, has posted a response to this “attack” and offered a reward to arrest of these people. We are over 1,000 comments and shares at last count on their page. Please join this group, like and share.

I will attach a picture of the damage to one of the signs. damage was also done to two more that we are aware of so far. Please be aware that offensive language was spray painted on the sign.

Click here for the link to LeadFeather Gun Shop and Range FB Page and pics of the defaced signs.

LeadFeather Gun Shop and Range stated:

“After the local Trump precinct contacted me to ask to put up a Trump sign, I agreed! Only one week in and this is how the opposition responds! If your beliefs and values are not the same as theirs, they vandalize your property! Police were notified, additional cameras installed and a NEW larger and taller sign is on its way. $500 reward if your tip leads to the arrest of the assailant! Never before has your vote counted so much this year!!!!”

The irony and stupidity of these  “useful idiot” criminals who vandalized these signs on private property next to Overlook Rd, Winter Haven, FL is that new signs will be posted above these defaced signs and the defaced signs will help to motivate people driving by to support Trump and LeadFeather Gun Store and Range.

We will not be deterred – we are on the right side in this battle of good vs evil; Constitutional Republic vs. Socialism and with our help and the help of GOD, POTUS Trump will WIN again on November 3rd, 2020!

Kamala Harris: Profile of A Fake African-American

Even though she identifies herself as an African-American, Democrat Senator Kamala Harris from California has zero connection to Black Americans whose African ancestors were slaves in America.

Her mother, Shyamala Galan Harris, is from India and her father, Donald Harris, is from Jamaica.

Both parents emigrated to the U.S. in the early 1960s and Kamala who has a younger sister, Maya, was born in 1964.

After Kamala’s parents divorced, her mother moved to Montreal, Canada with her two daughters and took them to worship in Hindu temples.

In 1990, Harris got a law degree from the the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.

While serving as District Attorney of the City and County of San Francisco, starting in 2003, she had an affair with the then-married Willie Brown who was the Speaker of the California State Assembly.

Kamala is now married to a white lawyer, Douglass Emhoff. The couple has two children from his prior marriage and a net worth of $1.7 million.

The below article exposes how Kamala is just a typical rich liberal hypocrite who uses identity politics and class warfare to gain power, so she can push failed socialist policies down our throats that will destroy our economy.

Kamala Harris’s Ancestors Were Slave Owners

Rogan O’Handley noted in a tweet “Democrats will tear down statues of slave owners, but nominate the descendant of one of Jamaica’s biggest slave owners for Vice President.”

Dinesh D’Souza stated “Kamala Harris is directly descended from one of the largest slaveowners in Jamaica, Hamilton Brown—there is a even a town named after him, Brown Town. So doesn’t it follow she’s a beneficiary, not a victim, of slavery?”

As is revealed in the below article “Kamala Harris has a troublesome family history” she is descended from the 19th-century Irish slave owner Hamilton Brown, the namesake of Brown’s Town in Jamaica, who recruited massive numbers of Irish migrants to Jamaica to work on his sugar plantations after the British Empire abolished slavery.

The article that was written during the primaries includes information about how the Harris family’s slave-holding history is confirmed by her father, Donald J. Harris an economics professor at Stanford University who is the son of an English white man, Joseph Alexander Harris.

Kamala Harris has a troublesome family history

Sen. Kamala Harris’ (D-CA) 2020 Democratic presidential campaign has, among other things, pushed for reparations for descendants of slaves, but according to a February report by PJ Media, her family used to own slaves on their plantation in Jamaica.

The story: Donald Harris, Kamala’s father, wrote the following in a lengthy essay for Jamaica Global Online in January of his family’s history:

“My roots go back, within my lifetime, to my paternal grandmother Miss Chrishy (née Christiana Brown, descendant of Hamilton Brown who is on record as plantation and slave owner and founder of Brown’s Town) and to my maternal grandmother Miss Iris (née Iris Finegan, farmer and educator, from Aenon Town and Inverness, ancestry unknown to me). The Harris name comes from my paternal grandfather Joseph Alexander Harris, land-owner and agricultural “produce” exporter (mostly pimento or all-spice), who died in 1939 one year after I was born and is buried in the church yard of the magnificent Anglican Church which Hamilton Brown built in Brown’s Town (and where, as a child, I learned the catechism, was baptized and confirmed, and served as an acolyte).”

The California Senator has also advocated for the legalization of marijuana, and in February she suggested that she and Jamaicans were generally known as big pot smokers. Her father voiced his distress over her remarks.

“My dear departed grandmothers(whose extraordinary legacy I described in a recent essay on this website), as well as my deceased parents , must be turning in their grave right now to see their family’s name, reputation and proud Jamaican identity being connected, in any way, jokingly or not with the fraudulent stereotype of a pot-smoking joy seeker and in the pursuit of identity politics. Speaking for myself and my immediate Jamaican family, we wish to categorically dissociate ourselves from this travesty.”

Judicial Watch Files Suit after Secret Service Admits to Destroying Records Related to Alleged Biden Altercation with Secret Service Agent

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch announced today that it filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security for records that the Secret Service claims to have destroyed related to a reported physical altercation between a Secret Service Agent and Joe Biden at a photo op in 2009 ( Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Homeland Security (No. 1:20-cv-02457)).

The lawsuit was filed after the Secret Service failed to respond to a July 14, 2020 administrative appeal challenging its claim that all files related to the 2009 altercation, “ha[d] been destroyed,” due to “retention standards.”

On March 29, 2020, the Gateway Pundit republished a 2017 report alleging that an unidentified Secret Service agent was suspended for a week in 2009 for “shoving Biden after he cupped his girlfriend’s breast while the couple was taking a photo with him.” “The situation got so heated … that others had to step in to prevent the agent from hitting the then-Vice President,” according to the report.

Judicial Watch’s FOIA request, made on May 12, 2020, sought:

All records related to a reported incident in 2009 in which a United States Secret Service Agent reportedly was involved in an altercation with, or attempted to strike, then Vice President Joe Biden during a photo opportunity.

The records sought shall include, but not be limited to, witness statements, the Agent’s statement, victim’s statement, alleged perpetrator’s statement, incident reports, investigative reports, communications among USSS personnel regarding the incident, and disciplinary records related to the incident for the Agent in question.

In a July 13, 2020 response to Judicial Watch’s request, the Secret Service appeared to confirm that a file on the alleged incident existed at some point, asserting, “[T]here are no responsive records or documents pertaining to your request in our files,” because “the above mentioned file(s) has been destroyed” due to “retention standards.”  The Secret Service added that, “[n]o additional information is available.”  It did not deny the incident had occurred.  In its lawsuit, Judicial Watch intends to test the Secret Service’s assertion that it destroyed all records about the incident.

“We had not been able to confirm whether the report about the alleged altercation might be true until the Secret Service itself suggested it destroyed records about the incident,” stated Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.

Trump vehemently denies report he disparaged military service, insulted dead and disabled troops

More lies from the left.

The military’s greatest cheerleader and supporters President Trump. No President has done more for the military.

The media lies. Everybody knows.

What we witnessed Thursday night into Friday morning was the deployment of the Death Star — the full Democrat-media complex on display, coordinating journalists, outside political organizations, tech platforms, and unnamed military sources.(Breitbart)

Just when you think that the MSM can’t go any lower, this disgraceful hit piece comes out. The report from the Atlantic naturally quoted anonymous sources.  In addition, the Atlantic is owned by a Biden megadonor. This is bullshit. President Trump loves our military.

Trump furiously denies report he disparaged military service, insulted dead and disabled troops

By Politico, September 4, 2020

President Donald Trump on Thursday vehemently disputed a report that alleged he criticized U.S. service members on multiple occasions, including asking that disabled veterans be excluded from military parades and referring to American war dead as “losers.”

Trump lashed out at The Atlantic’s report just hours after its publication, saying there is “nobody that respects” members of the military more than he does and calling the article “a disgraceful attempt to influence the 2020 election.”

Trump delivered a seven-minute rebuttal on the steps of Air Force One on his return from an evening campaign rally in Latrobe, Pa., according to a pool report, followed by multiple tweets.

According to the article, Trump canceled a planned 2018 visit to honor U.S. service members who died in Europe during World World I at the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery near Paris over concerns that the day’s rain would ruin his appearance, and because he didn’t think the visit necessary.

“Why should I go to that cemetery? It’s filled with losers,” Trump is reported to have said.

Trump said the weather conditions prevented him from flying by helicopter and a motorcade was deemed too disruptive to local operations.

Trump lambasted the article’s claims that characterized the president as cynical about military service, saying “they made it up.”

“If they really exist, if people really exist that would have said that, they’re lowlifes and they’re liars,” Trump said about the anonymous sources quoted in article. “And I would be willing to swear on anything that I never said that about our fallen heroes. There is nobody that respects them more.”

The Atlantic said it stands by its reporting.

Former and current Trump officials were quick to come to the president’s defense with their own recollections of events.

“The Atlantic story on @realDonaldTrump is total BS,” Sarah Sanders said in a tweet. The former White House press secretary said she was “one of the people part of the discussion” on Trump’s canceled visit to Aisne-Marne and that Trump’s comments on the war dead “never happened.”

Antifa/BLM Rioters Now Screaming ‘Death to America’

My latest in PJ Media, written before they did it again in New York City:

Well, at least now we know where everyone stands. Journalist Andy Ngo reported that last Wednesday night, “around 700 black bloc militants and their supporters rampaged through Oakland, Cal. They chanted ‘death to America’ while starting fires and smashing cars and buildings.” The week before that, according to Townhall’s Julio Rosas, “An American flag was just burned outside the Kenosha County Courthouse. One woman screams, ‘Death to America!’ and kicks the fence.”

Understandably, this has delighted some Iranians. Iranian Ayatollah Lotfollah Dezhkam, Supreme Leader Khamenei’s representative in Iran’s Fars province, stated in a Friday sermon: “The shout of the Iranian nation [is] being heard from the mouths of the Americans themselves: Death to America!”

Dezhkam gloated over what he believed were signs of the imminent demise of the United States: “The entire world has seen with its very eyes that today, America cannot be the main decision-maker when it comes to strategic matters in the world. We are unequivocally informing the American administration, Republicans and Democrats alike: If you’ve shut your ears with cotton balls, remove them [so you can hear]. The sound of America being shattered and of its collapse, is being heard all over the world. The shout of the Iranian nation, which has been leading the fight against America for 40 years, is being heard from mouths of the Americans themselves: Death to America!”…

If we are going to restore some semblance of peace and sanity to the republic, we must make a thorough housecleaning of the educational system from top to bottom, so that students learn what is great about America, not just about what is evil or what the Left represents as being evil.

It won’t be easy. Rating America’s Presidents: An America-First Look at Who Is Best, Who Is Overrated, and Who Was An Absolute Disaster is one small attempt to begin to do this, to restore historical study to a sane, accurate, patriotic basis. If we do not now study and learn what once made America great, we will have no opportunity to make it great again.

There is much more. Read the rest here.

The Antisemitism Pandemic

Liberals who tolerate no bigotry from conservatives will excuse antisemitic leftists who call for the destruction of Israel.

Upon awakening in the morning, an observant Jew’s first thought is supposed to be directed toward G-d with the recitation of Modeh Ani (מודה אני), the prayer expressing thanks for the return of the soul to the body. Thereafter and throughout the day, observant Jews conduct their lives according to the commandments set forth in the Torah and values elucidated in sacred literature.

Knowing the laws regarding prayer, kashrut, charity, interpersonal and professional conduct, and how mitzvah observance relates to the proper functioning of society, reminds Jews of their relationship with G-d and His involvement in their daily lives. This reinforces the belief that G-d is continually engaged with the world and that every Jew has the innate ability to communicate directly with Him without need for intermediaries.

Jewish tradition similarly teaches that society cannot exist in a spiritual vacuum, a concept succinctly reflected by the words of Pirkei Avot (1:2) stating: “The world rests upon three things, Torah, avodah [divine service], and gemilut hasadim [acts of kindness].” This dictum is actualized when Jews live according to their law and tradition and recognize how belief and observance enable them to fulfill their mission as a “light to the nations” (אור לגויים‎).

But what happens when they abandon traditional belief and instead worship alien ideals that contravene Jewish law? Or when nontraditional movements and secular communal organizations conflate rabbinic values with partisan politics? The result is moral confusion that threatens Jewish continuity and excuses antisemitism in progressive and identity communities with whom many liberals find common cause.

Evidence of Jew-hatred among progressives and minority communities abounds and yet liberals often deny its existence or rationalize it as a response to imaginary Jewish indiscretions. Or they vindicate it by misrepresenting Jewish history, forsaking Israel, and shielding leftists from accusations of bias.

Radicals who preach the destruction of Israel or Jewish culture deny they are antisemitic by pointing to Jewish progressives who do the same. How can they be antisemitic, they ask, when “enlightened” Jews also reject their tradition and characterize Israel as a colonial enterprise? Even moderate liberals excuse radical hatred when they are ignorant of Jewish history or believe Torah values equal progressivism.

Nothing illustrates this more than their refusal to recognize antisemitism within the current protest movement or at the center of the revisionist Palestinian narrative.

Despite the myth of progressive tolerance, antisemitism has permeated leftist thought for generations – becoming especially shrill after the 1967 war – and has clearly infected today’s liberal mainstream. It seems that “radical chic” of the 1960s paved the way for left-wing antisemitism in the twenty-first century.

Jewish progressives who renounce tradition often seek spiritual fulfillment by sanctifying political ideologies and paying lip-service to rabbinic values they reject. Many who spurn tradition portray spirituality as progressive idealism, with typically implausible results. Some support the antisemitic Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (“BDS”) movement, Students for Justice in Palestine, or organizations like J Street or New Israel Fund. Others endorse Antifa or applaud Black Lives Matter activists who falsely accuse Israel of apartheid, support BDS, and honor Louis Farrakhan.

Progressives justify these affiliations by wrongly equating tikkun olam with “social justice” and claiming mussar-inspired introspection leads them to reject Israel. Clearly, they understand neither concept.

The result of such thinking is that liberals who tolerate no bigotry from conservatives often excuse antisemitic leftists who call for the destruction of the Jewish State.

Republicans ostracized Congressman Steve King for comments deemed racist during his tenure in the House, and the party ultimately stripped him of his committee assignments in 2018 and supported his opponent in the 2020 Republican primary. In contrast, when Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, or other Congressional Democrats made offensive or insensitive comments regarding Jews or Israel, Democratic leadership rushed to their defense and proclaimed them valuable members of the caucus.

This partisan hypocrisy runs deep and pushes Democratic priorities into the realm of the absurd. Whereas House Democrats last year held hearings on the threat of right-wing extremism, for example, they refused to investigate Antifa for domestic terrorism and instead treated violent protests where people were injured and property destroyed as “democracy in action.”

Neo-Nazis are not the ones instigating the civil unrest that is now roiling the nation and which has included physical violence, assaults on police officers and federal courthouses, and mob attacks against Jews, their businesses, schools, and synagogues.

Though liberals have made condemning racism against African-Americans and other minorities a litmus test for conservatives and Republicans, they have refused to regard anti-Jewish racism with equal seriousness. Only Republicans have made fighting Jew-hatred a moral priority, while House Democrats could not even pass a resolution condemning antisemitism (which was necessitated by comments from members of their own caucus) until they rewrote it as a generic denunciation of all hatreds and omitted specific reference to Jews.

Antisemitism is clearly at play in the 2020 presidential race, but establishment liberals will not acknowledge its pervasiveness. Moreover, they tout Joe Biden as good for Israel and the Jews without any critical analysis, irrespective of a record marked by many troubling incidents, including:

  • threatening Menachem Begin in the halls of the Senate in 1982;
  • blaming Israeli policies for terrorism against Jews while ignoring Palestinian antisemitic rejectionism;
  • falsely identifying the historically Jewish Ramat Shlomo neighborhood in Jerusalem as disputed territory and condemning construction there in 2010;
  • criticizing President Trump’s relocation of the US Embassy to Jerusalem in compliance with legislation that Biden himself had supported as a Senator in 1995.
  • serving as vice president in a virulently anti-Israel administration that consistently undermined PM Netanyahu and Israeli national integrity, and which in 2016 coordinated UN Resolution 2334 in an effort to deny Jewish sovereignty and erase the Jews’ historical presence from Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem.

Biden’s running mate, Kamala Harris, whose self-proclaimed affinity for Israel is inconsistent with her failure to attend this year’s AIPAC conference, desires to reinstate the Iran nuclear deal, and failed to condemn bigoted remarks by Ilhan Omar. Jewish voters should be apprehensive that Harris appeared to show greater concern for Omar’s welfare after her odious comments than the targets of her incitement.

Though the failure to condemn antisemitism among fellow Democrats should be an electoral red flag, it instead elicits silence from establishment liberals.

If Jewish Democrats were truly alarmed by surging antisemitism or existential threats to Israel, they would mobilize against the hate-speech of prominent athletes and celebrities. They would also challenge abhorrent commentary in mainstream media outlets that provide platforms for BDS advocacy and downplay reports of antisemitic acts committed by progressive or minority activists. Liberals prefer instead to put their slurs “in context” or blame President Trump.

Jewish voters can dislike Trump for his personality, politics, behavior, or job performance, but they cannot base their disdain on rabbinic tradition they know little about. Indeed, in the current political climate – where violent hatred of Jews and Israel has become acceptable among identity groups and progressive Democrats – they cannot claim that any current Democratic candidate is especially philosemitic or pro-Israel.

Authentic Jewish values are not synonymous with progressivism and do not demand allegiance to the Democratic Party. Accordingly, those who invoke Jewish tradition to justify partisan affiliations should learn what it actually entails before conflating it with ideals that are extraneous to or inconsistent with Jewish law.

Whereas most American Jews are nonobservant, many still yearn to express themselves spiritually – though they may no longer know how. In contrast, those who start the morning with “Modeh Ani” are familiar with their history, traditions and holy obligations, including the commandment to end their day by reciting the bedtime Shema affirming G-d’s oneness. Beginning and ending the day with words of prayer gives traditional Jews a spiritual template for conducting their lives from dawn to dusk. Can those who abandon Torah values for temporal politics say the same?

Study: America Hit By Roughly 550 Violent Demonstrations In Three Months

Data gathered in a Thursday study suggested that the U.S. experienced nearly 550 violent demonstrations since May 26, the day after the death of George Floyd.

The vast majority of U.S. states have experienced riots in the past three months with Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, Mississippi, West Virginia, Hawaii and Alaska being the only ones unscathed by violence, according to data gathered by The Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED).

There were a total of 7,750 Black Lives Matter-linked demonstrations in the U.S. in 2,440 locations across all 50 states, according to ACLED’s data.

Ninety-three percent of these demonstrations were peaceful, but that indicated that approximately 543 events were violent, according to ACLED’s statistics.

Violent demonstrations have largely been contained to 220 locations with Portland being the hardest hit location, the data show.

There have been 38 incidents where riots damaged or brought down historical statues. Law enforcement deployed non-lethal munitions in 54% of the demonstrations where they were present, ACLED reported. A total of 5% of BLM protests have been met with force from officers, data showed.

ACLED also claimed that 50 incidents across the country in the past three months have featured armed individuals, and BLM protests have been recorded in South America, Africa, Asia and several violent demonstrations have been reported in Europe.

VIDEO: Trump Rips Media For Going Easy On Biden, Asking Him Questions ‘Meant For A Child’

President Donald Trump tore into the media on Friday for supposedly going easy on former Vice President Joe Biden during a press conference earlier that day.

“Read the questions you asked. They were, like, meant for a child,” Trump said during a press conference, referring to questions reporters asked the former vice president Friday afternoon.

The president was comparing the grilling he received about an anonymously-sourced article suggesting he called fallen soldiers “suckers” and “losers” to questions reporters asked Biden.

“Those questions were meant for a child. Smiles on faces of reporters,” Trump said.

“Not like you and you. There were smiles — what do you think? Take a look at those questions they asked him. They were not meant for grown-up, they were meant for a child,” he added.

Biden spent much of his time at the conference railing against Trump over a report Thursday in The Atlantic magazine, which cited four anonymous sources claiming the president disparaged fallen World War I soldiers during a trip to France in 2018.

The former vice president took questions for the second time this week after going a month without holding a press conference.

Several of the reporters’ questions focused on Trump’s supposed comments, while others homed in on the president in general.

“When you hear these remarks — ‘suckers,’ ‘losers,’ recoiling from amputees, what does it tell you about President Trump’s soul and the life he leads?” Atlantic staff writer Edward-Isaac Dovere asked at one point. Another reporter asked Biden what he thought about Trump mocking his mask wearing.

“I wonder if you worry that this kind of language that comes from the president of the United States can deter some Americans who are tuning into him to not wear masks,” CNN Political Correspondent MJ Lee Lee told the former VP. Trump joked at a Sept. 3 rally in Pennsylvania about Biden’s love for masks.

Numerous former and current Trump officials have dismissed The Atlantic’s reporting.

Former National Security Adviser John Bolton, for instance, reportedly told Fox News reporter John Roberts that he would have written a chapter in his forthcoming book had the president made such remarks. “I didn’t hear that,” Bolton, who was present the day Trump supposedly made the remarks, told The New York Times Friday.

Trump, for his part, dismissed the report as well.

“I would be willing to swear on anything that I never said that about our fallen heroes,” the president told reporters as he was exiting Air Force One Friday. “There is nobody that respects them more. So, I just think it’s a horrible, horrible thing … no animal, nobody, what animal would say such a thing.”

PODCAST: Burnt by Hate, Responding with Love

“My heart just dropped.” Scott Carpenter said it was “devastating” to watch the riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin. His father had started a business selling office furniture out of his garage 42 years ago. On Washington Watch with Tony Perkins, Scott explained how he had taken over the family business — that is, until the rioters burned his building and his entire inventory to the ground.

“We’re not getting rich over here,” he said. “We have a building, and inventory, and vehicles, and a couple of employees.” Scott said that Donald Trump, as a business owner, knows what it feels like “to have the rug pulled out from underneath your feet.”

Scott Carpenter and other families with small businesses have seen their life’s work and life’s savings literally go up in flames over the past weeks. “The building is gone. Everything in it gone,” said Scott. The Kenosha mayor has asked for $30 million to repair the damage to the city. Perhaps the celebrities donating millions of dollars to Black Lives Matter could put their fortunes to better use helping families rebuild their lives.

Meanwhile, Scott Carpenter has determined to respond to this hate-fueled destruction with the love of Christ. Listen to the interview to hear how he has used his burnt-out business to proclaim the gospel.

Will Our Votes Be Counted?

How big of a concern is mail-in voter fraud in the November election? In a CNN interview yesterday, U.S. Attorney General William Barr pointed out the very serious problems with proposed state-wide, or “universal” mail-in ballot systems because of the pandemic: “We are playing with fire.”

Just how big of a fire? As FRC’s second episode of Pray Vote Stand 2020 made clear, not only is the potential for voter fraud massive in a proposed state-wide mail-in scenario, but voter fraud has already happened time and time again in past elections.

The Left likes to say that voter fraud is a “myth,” but the facts beg to differ. The Heritage Foundation has tracked 1,296 cases of voter fraud in the last four years, which they say is almost certainly not all of them. In the last four national elections, 28 million mail-in ballots went missing. How big of an impact could this have? Consider this: the last presidential election was decided by less than 80,000 votes across a handful of states. In addition, things have gotten so bad with inaccurate mail-in voter lists that dogs and cats are now receiving mail-in ballots.

Right now, there are only four states that have used the state-wide mail-in ballot method, but because of the pandemic, more states are considering using this method, which is ripe for fraud. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton knows all about this type of fraud happening in his home state. “Two thirds of voter fraud cases deal with mail-in ballot fraud,” he said during the webcast. “We know for a fact that mail-in ballots create a higher risk of fraud and do go at the credibility of elections.” As one woman in Hawaii pointed out during the webcast, there is also the problem of people like her who have lived in different states receiving multiple ballots from those states. It seems that the old sarcastic adage to “vote often” may not be that hard to do after all in a state-wide mail-in scenario.

So what can concerned voters do about election integrity and to ensure their vote counts? General Paxton was clear: “Voting in person is the safest thing to do” and is best way to “ensure that our elections are fair.”

We’ve made it easy for you to register to vote in your state if you have not done so already. Simply go to PrayVoteStand.org/register to register and to access resources on how to host a registration drive at your church as well as the legal dos and don’ts for churches. It’s particularly important to encourage everyone in our spheres of influence to register and to vote, since four out of 10 Christians do not vote in presidential elections.

The broadcast also featured words of encouragement and conviction for believers. World Missions President for Church of God in Christ, Bishop Vincent Mathews made it clear that Christians must not waver in their knowledge of the truth: “We say that God must be supreme. Truth is objective. It is not subjective and relative.” Pastor Jack Graham of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas echoed a similar message, emphasizing how much elections matter for believers, particularly with the issue of liberal state officials shutting down churches during the pandemic while keeping bars and abortion facilities open. As Graham pointed out, the tumultuous and divisive times we live in demand that all believers take a stand in the public square: “Vote your conscience. Vote your convictions. We say vote your faith. Vote your Bible, and then stand. We cannot be silent and we cannot run away.”

SBC Executive Committee President Ronnie Floyd reiterated the need for repentance and for deep and prayerful examination or our consciences based on the Book of Haggai: “I believe this is the call to the American church today from our Lord and our God. He is saying, church, think carefully about your ways … America, think carefully about your ways.”

And be sure to watch the entire second episode of our Pray Vote Stand 2020 webcast.

What Pelosi’s Salon Scandal Says about the ‘Lockdown Elite’

There’s a deeper lesson to be learned from watching politicians who espouse egalitarian rhetoric indulge in clearly non-egalitarian behavior.

Nancy Pelosi got caught this week.

The House Speaker is in the proverbial hot seat after it was discovered she had her hair done Monday inside a salon in downtown San Francisco, despite a government order forbidding salons from providing business indoors.

Surveillance video circulated online (see below) showed Pelosi “with wet hair inside the salon, not wearing a mask.”

Pelosi took responsibility for the flap … sort of.

“I take responsibility for trusting the word of a neighborhood salon that I’ve been to over the years many times and that when they said we’re able to accommodate people one person at a time and that we could set up that time, I trusted that. As it turns out, it was a set-up,” Pelosi said. “So I take responsibility for falling for a set-up.”

There’s no need to go into all the details of Salongate and the potential political consequences pundits are discussing. The truth is, Pelosi’s hypocrisy isn’t that uncommon.

A casual look at 2020 shows examples of “do as I say, not as I do” have been rampant during the pandemic. Here are a few examples:

Earlier this week, Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney was compelled to publicly apologize after he was busted sneaking over to Maryland to enjoy dinner at a restaurant over the weekend.

Meanwhile, indoor dining remains forbidden in Kenney’s own city under orders imposed by the city.

“I felt the risk was low because the county I visited has had fewer than 800 COVID-19 cases, compared to over 33,000 cases in Philadelphia,” Kenney wrote. “Restaurant owners are among the hardest hit by the pandemic. I’m sorry if my decision hurt those who’ve worked to keep their businesses going under difficult circumstances.”

In March, New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio defended his decision to go to the gym during the pandemic while other New Yorkers were forbidden to do so.

Unlike Speaker Pelosi and Mayor Kenney, De Blasio didn’t sound particularly contrite or bothered by the hypocrisy.

“I need exercise to be able to stay healthy and make decisions,” de Blasio explained, adding that he was exercising in a “very socially distanced situation.”

In May, Democratic Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham found herself on the defensive when an Albuquerque news network accused the governor of breaking her own orders by purchasing jewelry from a store while all “non-essential” businesses were closed.

The previous month, during an April 3 press conference, Grisham explained why businesses must be closed. She also acknowledged the “tough financial times” and empathized with the “personal sacrifices” being made. Days later, she reached out to an employee at a high-end jewelry store—Lilly Barrack on Paseo, which was closed by state order—and arranged a purchase of expensive jewelry.

A spokeswoman for the governor defended the sale, noting the purchase was made remotely and the store remained “closed” during the purchase.

“The store was never ‘opened’ and a good safe process was followed,” spokeswoman Nora Meyers Sackett told the Associated Press.

Then there’s Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot. Earlier this year the Associated Press noted Lightfoot’s especially hard-line approach to enforcing the city’s strict social distancing policy, in some cases personally breaking up gatherings at private residences.

“Your conduct—yours—is posing a direct threat to our public health,” Lightfoot told one group of people allegedly flouting social distancing rules, according to the AP.

Lightfoot defended her closure of salons and barbershops, noting that “getting your roots done is not essential.” But she sang a different tune when it came to her own appearance, after it was discovered she arranged a private visit from a local stylist.

“I’m the public face of this city. I’m on national media and I’m out in the public eye,” said Lightfoot, who also banned political demonstrations on her own block even as her administration failed to protect business-owners and other “commoners” from violent riots.

These are just a handful of examples of politicians refusing to live by the same rules they demand others follow. (You can bet for every politician busted, a dozen got away with it.)

Pretty much everyone can agree it’s not a good look. Humans despise hypocrisy. It is “the only vice that cannot be forgiven,” the great English essayist William Hazzlit once observed.

So it’s no surprise to see these stories trotted out by partisan media and politicians in an effort to make political hay during election season.

That’s fine; politics is politics. But there’s a deeper lesson to be learned from watching politicians who espouse egalitarian rhetoric indulge in decidedly non-egalitarian behavior.

There’s a wonderful scene in the critically acclaimed 2006 German film The Lives of Others that demonstrates the stubborn persistence of hierarchy even in political systems built on ideological foundations of equality.

Directed by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck, The Lives of Others explores the quiet terror of life behind the Berlin Wall in East Germany when a Stasi captain is assigned to spy on a playwright who leaders of the Communist Party of Germany (KPD) suspect may have subversive ideas. (In truth, a high-ranking KPD official simply desires the playwright’s lover.)

The ideal of a socialist system is equality, but viewers quickly see there is little equality to be found in the communist state. Throughout the film we see members of the KPD enjoy power regular citizens do not, and we also see within the Party itself that hierarchy very much exists. The best example comes in a scene in a state cafeteria involving protagonist Gerd Wiesler, the Stasi captain, and his superior, Lt. Col. Anton Grubitz (a nasty fellow).

Wiesler moves to sit at a table near several young people of lesser rank, prompting Grubitz to point out that captains sit in the back. To Grubitz, the idea of high-ranking officers sitting next to underlings clearly is strange.

Even in a state where utopian socialism reigns supreme, inequality is not vanquished; in fact, it is exacerbated.

As the great economist Ludwig von Mises once observed, it’s impossible to extinguish hierarchy from human affairs.

“As there will always be positions which men value more highly than others, people will strive for them and try to outdo rivals. Social competition is consequently present in every conceivable mode of social organization,” Mises wrote in Human Action.

Hierarchy and social climbing will therefore be found even under “egalitarian” socialism, which Mises regarded as a totalitarian system. Social status will just be based on proximity to power, as opposed to competence and service, which are what tend to determine status in a free society.

“In a totalitarian system social competition manifests itself in the endeavors of people to court the favor of those in power,” Mises wrote. “In the market economy competition manifests itself in the facts that the sellers must outdo one another by offering better or cheaper goods and services and that the buyers must outdo one another by offering higher prices.”

Indeed in communist Russia, the Party elite (called the nomenklatura) had special privileges that afforded them a lifestyle that contrasted sharply with the poverty of the masses. As the Los Angeles Times reported in 1986:

Members of the so-called nomenklatura, numbering perhaps a million, have special holiday retreats, access to special medical facilities and—most resented by ordinary Russians—access to special stores that sell imported and Soviet-made goods that are simply not available in the regular stores. Many also have cars and chauffeurs.

As a practical matter, the privileges are hereditary, since children of the elite have an inside track on admission to the top universities—graduation from which guarantees them good jobs and a place on the nomenklatura list.

America is not a totalitarian socialist state, but the lockdowns gave Americans just a taste of how such systems work. Those with power and influence were able to enjoy perks that those without power could not in most cases (at least not legally).

Moreover, those exercising their power and influence to procure services and products other people could not get through a market economy saw little problem in doing so (at least until they were caught). Indeed, some clearly believed their position entitled them to such perks.

Statements from Lightfoot and de Blasio make it clear they believe their status as public officials grants them certain privileges regular people cannot reasonably expect to have. In effect, they fancy themselves as members of an American lockdown nomenklatura.

This proves Mises’s point: Hierarchy is unavoidable, even in states built on the promise of equality. And humans being humans, they naturally become aware of their position in the hierarchy and use it to their advantage, even as they continue to celebrate the ideal of equality.

Mises is not alone in this assessment, it’s worth pointing out. A celebrated English writer and former socialist ultimately reached this very same conclusion about socialism and hierarchy.

“All animals are equal,” George Orwell famously wrote in his great literary work Animal Farm, “but some animals are more equal than others.”

Kayleigh McEnany plays video of Pelosi getting her hair done on a loop during press conference

Watch! Speaker Pelosi is holding up $1.3 trillion dollars in aid for American families who desperately need it. All while she gets her hair done, and gorges herself on gourmet ice cream. Only the American people can put a stop to this open corruption, by voting the Democrats out of office in November.

Kayleigh McEnany plays video of Pelosi getting her hair done on a loop during press conference

By Washington Examiner, September 3, 2020

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany played the video of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in a salon on a loop during Thursday’s press conference.

“We found Nancy Pelosi going into her hair salon. We will be playing the video on loop for all of you to see during the duration of this introduction … Apparently, the rules do not apply to Speaker Nancy Pelosi,” McEnany said.

Pelosi was recorded in a salon in San Francisco at the end of last month, despite coronavirus restrictions keeping such establishments closed from March until Sept. 1.

“It was a slap in the face that she went in, you know, that she feels that she can just go and get her stuff done while no one else can go in, and I can’t work,” salon owner Erica Kious told Fox News this week.

“We have been shut down for so long, not just me, but most of the small businesses, and I just can’t — it’s a feeling — a feeling of being deflated, helpless, and honestly beaten down,” Kious said.

Pelosi has also addressed the video, calling it a “setup” and demanding an apology.

“I take responsibility for trusting the word of the neighborhood salon that I have been to many times,” Pelosi told reporters Wednesday. “When they said they could accommodate people one at a time, and we can set up that time, I trusted that.”
