Clearly Sullivan is not a fan of President Trump nor his supporters. He calls Trump supporters in Utah a terrorist group.

How did Sullivan end up in Washington, D.C. on January 6th wearing a Trump MAGA hat?

CNN gave Sullivan a platform to falsely accuse Trump supporters in the January 6th Capital Hill violence.

Laura Italiano from the New York Post in a column titled Feds try to get anti-Trump Capitol ‘infiltrator’ John Sullivan locked up reported:

Accused Capitol rioter John Sullivan — an anti-Trump activist who allegedly infiltrated the off-the-rails rally — has a history of violence at protests and “thrives on chaos,” a federal prosecutor warned in a failed bid to lock him up as his DC case proceeds.

“He thrives on chaos,” DC-based federal prosecutor Bryan N. Reeves told a judge in Sullivan’s home state of Utah during a Zoom hearing there Friday night, at which he was ordered released to house arrest over prosecution objections.

“The defendant uses messaging apps to set up meetings and set up riots,” Reeves told the judge.

“He will pose as different members of organizations, even those that have disavowed him,” just to agitate people and make trouble, Reeves argued of the former Olympic speed skater and self-styled provocateur.

Sullivan also had plans to return to the Capitol on Inauguration Day, Reeves argued.

Conclusion

The legacy media and websites like the Poynter Institute’s PolitiFact continue to deny that Sullivan is an anarchist, let alone left-wing.  PolitiFact states:

Social media users and allies of President Donald Trump have continued pushing the baseless claim that it was antifa activists, not Trump supporters, who mobbed the U.S. Capitol.

Politifact goes on to state:

“Anti-Trump founder of radical left-wing group ‘Insurgence USA’ John Sullivan incited insurgence of U.S. Capitol,” said the text over one image shared widely on Facebook. The post originated on Parler, a social media platform targeted to conservatives.

The post was flagged as part of Facebook’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed. (Read more about our partnership with Facebook.) Other posts sought to link him to Antifa.

Here’s a video of Sullivan agitating a crowd and inciting violence.

America is in a war where truth and lies coexist in a dangerous mix. Social media is censoring the truth. Journalists are publishing propaganda and networks like CNN are endorsing the actions of people like John Sullivan.

Anarchists are the new normal. Peaceful protests, like that by Trump supporters in Washington, D.C. are being portrayed not as “mostly peaceful.” Rather they are being used to demonize Trump supporters in order to disenfranchise them.

Gird your loins. It is time for those patriots who love America to go on the offensive by telling the truth, which has now become a revolutionary act.

Law and Disorder

Americans were shocked by the assault on the U. S. Capitol that took place on January 6th, ostensibly by Trump supporters.

The US Capitol Police Chief, who has since resigned, stated:

“The violent attack on the U.S. Capitol was unlike any I have ever experienced in my 30 years in law enforcement here in Washington, D. C.”

Pat Buchanan noted: “What Americans watched was a mob occupation and desecration of the temple of the American Republic. And the event will be forever exploited to discredit not only Trump but the movement he led and the achievements of his presidency. He will be demonized as no one else in our history since Richard Nixon or Joe McCarthy.”

The fallout from last Wednesday will likely continue for a long time. The pitchfork brigade that frightened those in the Capitol for a few hours will likely become the face of “conservatives” on direct mail pieces of the Southern Poverty Law Center and their ilk.

But those inside the Capitol were not typical of the vast majority of conservatives, including those who attended the D. C. meeting. Pastor and columnist Larry Tomczak was there.

For wnd.com (1/6/21), he writes:

“The diverse crowd was overwhelmingly respectful but righteously angry. The gathered multitudes were a far cry from the boisterous, violent and destructive protests of Black Lives Matter, Antifa and far-left extremists.”

How are we to process all this? Dr. Richard Land, president of Southern Evangelical Seminary, commented on the attack: “Americans must always reject the resort to violence in pursuit of political goals. It is literally ‘un-American’ to engage in, or resort to, violent disregard of the law. This is not a question of conservative vs. liberal or Democrat vs. Republican. This is right vs. wrong.”

One now-repentant participant inside the Capitol is quoted in the New York Post (1/8/21): “My decision to enter the Capitol was wrong, and I am deeply regretful to have done so. Without qualification and as a peaceful and law-abiding citizen, I condemn the violence and destruction that took place in Washington.”

But, of course, if he’s looking for forgiveness from the left, he will not find it. There is no redemption from the left.

Part of the story that is so difficult to stomach is the double standard—the way the media treats protesters on the right versus those on the left.

Tristan Justice of The Federalist.com notes that in the last year there were 28 times that “media and Democrats excused or endorsed violence committed by left-wing activists.” He points out:

“Democrats and their allies in the media are ready to condemn riots now that the turmoil has shifted to fit their narrative.”

Justice adds,

“Incoming Vice President Kamala Harris encouraged her supporters last summer to donate to the Minnesota Freedom Fund, which provided bail money to the militant anarchists facing charges for setting fire to Minneapolis.”

Looting and stealing and killing and violence for months was called “mostly peaceful protests.” Some of the reporters saying these riots were “mostly peaceful protests” had burning buildings behind them. They were reminiscent of Baghdad Bob, spokesman for Saddam Hussein in 2003, who would report that his forces were winning while the viewer could see the exact opposite behind Bob.

For months, we saw looting and unprecedented destruction of people’s livelihoods. Many of the people financially hurt were the working poor, including minorities, whose businesses and dreams went up in smoke.

America is all about the rule of law. The creation of the U.S. Constitution was in response to a riotous situation.

Some commentators note that the frustrated Capitol protesters did not go as far as trying to spark an insurrection. But, interestingly, the Constitution came about because of a true insurrection. It was called Shays’s Rebellion (1786).

In her 1986 book on the creation of the Constitution, Miracle at Philadelphia, author Catherine Drinker Bowen says,

“Desperate farmers, ruinously taxed—‘by Boston,’ they said—and seeing their cattle and their land distrained by the bailiffs, had risen in revolt. With staves and pitchforks they had marched on county courthouses after the best Revolutionary technique, frightening sound-money men out of their wits and rousing General Washington to express disgust and anger that a country which had won a difficult war was not able to keep order in peacetime.”

Response to this ultimately led to the creation of the Constitution—something good out of the ashes of calamity.

Meanwhile, America’s need to repent and return to God could not be clearer. One of the worst potential outcomes would be to encourage more Christian apathy on politics. It is never a good time to quit doing the right thing, even after major setbacks. After all, as Calvin Coolidge said,

“If good men don’t hold office, bad men will.”

Amazon Web Services Censors Parler, Leaves Leftist Vendors Untouched

Following the January 6th Capitol attacks and social media’s censorship of President Trump, Amazon Web Services (AWS) just suspended Parler, the free speech social media alternative. Fortunately, Parler’s lawsuit means they won’t go down without a fight.

Many conservatives are readily accusing AWS of censoring conservative ideas, but a quick look at Parler’s actual content reveals they’re far from innocent. Death threats overran the platform in recent weeks, along with people planning acts of violent terrorism such as the January 6th attack on the Capitol. Parler’s current state is hardly a good alternative to Big Tech.

While AWSwanting to hold Parler accountable for terrorist content isn’t inherently a problem, AWS’s refusal to do the same to their leftist Big Tech vendors such as Facebook is blatant hypocrisy when literal terrorist organizations like ISIS maintain active recruitment profiles. Conservatives are censored simply for sharing non-violent “misinformation” — but death threats against those same conservatives are ignored by real people at Facebook. And in July 2019, Facebook briefly allowed a “list of dangerous people” (all conservatives) to have violence incited against them on the platform. The rule was only retracted due to backlash.

And on Twitter, even Iran’s terrorist leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, is allowed more freedom of speech than conservatives. His messages, which include calling Israel “a deadly, cancerous growth” and supporting groups “who oppose…the Zionist regime,” are up on Twitter to this day. Apparently, Twitter doesn’t have an issue with threats of genocide except when they’re said by conservatives.

We at 2ndVote oppose threats of violence and terrorism whether from those using conservative platforms such as Parler or from leftist users on platforms like Facebook and Twitter. The right to free speech and safety are universal. Unfortunately, Big Tech platforms only allow leftists to exercise those rights, while suppressing everyone else. We here at 2ndVote are doing our due diligence to find a platform that truly represents free speech so conservatives can ditch Big Tech without losing access to the communication that is the heartbeat of America.

How Cultural Marxism is Grinding Down the Military

“Cultural Marxism” refers to the process of grinding down western democracies by subverting the pillars of their culture, the structures and institutions of family, religion, education, politics, law, the arts and the media, as they provide the social cohesion necessary to a functioning society. Undermine the principles these structural institutions embody, and a capitalist society can be overthrown from within without firing a shot.

Like termites destroying the foundation of a house, cultural Marxists in our midst have since the 1960s worked via stealth and deception to radically transform every structural institution in America, including its armed forces.  When Barack Obama was elected president, radical transformation of the military accelerated at warp speed.

The military exists to fight and win wars, with its senior commanders responsible for ensuring their respective branch is fully prepared to pull its weight in carrying out that national imperative. While President Obama was staffing the Pentagon with progressive activists more committed to social justice than combat readiness, America’s highest-ranking generals and admirals offered little pushback, perhaps in fear of being called racist and seeing their career abruptly end at a time not of their own choosing.

In deciding whose career would flourish and whose wouldn’t, Obama had military promotion boards select officers willing to aggressively implement his stated intent to “fundamentally transform the United States of America.”  With the military’s topmost commanders afraid of speaking out, Obama’s social justice warriors at the Pentagon were free to subordinate military preparedness to an endless trail of political objectives that methodically ground down one of America’s most vital institutions, its armed forces.

Column left

In an April 2016 article titled “Obama marches armed forces leftward,” the Washington Times reported this: “President Obama has become one of the nation’s most successful commanders in chief when it comes to at least one battlefield: the liberal agenda. Perhaps not since Harry S. Truman’s landmark 1948 order to racially integrate the military has a president unleashed his own collective social revolution on the Pentagon with such success.  In the process, the building also has become one of the administration’s loudest voices on battling climate change, even as its ability to fight one major war is in doubt due to budget cuts.”

White privilege indoctrination

Climate change wasn’t the only part of Obama’s progressive agenda meekly acquiesced to by compliant Pentagon brass. According to the same Washington Times article, Obama also had the military indoctrinate troops with “white privilege,” a real phenomenon that deserves discussion, but is exploited by cultural Marxists as a political bludgeon to create feelings of guilt and self-hatred among whites. A virtue-signaling Tweet by woke Hollywood actress Rosanna Arquette revealed the mindset that white privilege ideology seeks to create: “I am so sorry I was born white and privileged. It disgusts me. And I feel so much shame.”

“I’m being taught how not to be a man.”

Nearly four years after Obama left office, cultural Marxists at the Pentagon are still influencing military decisions.  FrontPageMag reported that the United States Military Academy is brainwashing the cadet corps with “toxic masculinity,” a theoretical male defect invented by militant feminists to make men more docile. The author of the report put it this way: “To emasculate a civilization, you indoctrinate its youth to believe that the natural traits typically associated with masculinity – such as aggression, competitiveness, and emotional self-control – are poisonous to society and even to boys and men themselves. You convince men – especially society’s warriors – to reject their very nature altogether.” As one West Point cadet said under condition of anonymity, “I’m being taught how not to be a man.”

Political correctness rules the military roost

Obama’s cultural Marxists in the Pentagon, including many who’re still there, infected every branch of the armed forces with stage 4 political correctness.  As reported by the Air Force Times, poor morale among stateside military units can be traced to politically correct changes in military culture.  The Air Force staff sergeant who wrote the article said this: “You’re allowed to be proud, and even proclaim that pride, in being black, Latino, homosexual, atheist or transgender, yet I cannot proclaim my pride in being a white, heterosexual, male Christian without serious reprimand.  This division is encouraged and supported by the Air Force.”

Military used to diminish Christianity

Obama’s social justice warriors at the Pentagon were tasked with purging vestiges of America’s predominant religion from military life, including the following unsettling instances, each of which ground down the morale of Christians in uniform:

  • Ordered removal of Nativity scene in dining hall of Guantanamo Naval Base.
  • Prohibited a Christian chaplain from ministering to the family of dead soldier.
  • Court-martialed a Marine for refusing to remove a Bible verse from her computer.
  • Threatened to punish an Air Force Academy cadet leader for writing a Bible verse on the whiteboard outside his dorm room.
  • Threatened to court-martial soldiers who share their Christian faith with colleagues.
  • Ordered the Air Force to remove a video tribute to First Sergeants because it mentioned the word “God.”
  • Ordered an Air Force colonel relieved of duty for opposing gay marriage on religious grounds.
  • Ordered a VA hospital to ban a high school choir from singing Christmas carols to sick and wounded soldiers.

Cultural Marxists in civilian society pile on

The Pentagon isn’t the only place in our society where cultural Marxists grind down the spirit of those who serve:

  • Using victim vs. oppressor ideology as an excuse, Marxist students at City College of New York demanded that the school’s ROTC program be kicked off campus.
  • San Francisco’s school board voted to dump the JROTC program from the city’s high schools.
  • Addressing a student who wore a Marine shirt to class, a public school teacher in California referred to members of the military as “the lowest of the low.”
  • Two men were arrested in Alabama for urinating on a war memorial.
  • In a letter dripping with anti-military hated, a group of 50 Microsoft employees demanded that the company cancel a weapons enhancement contract with the Pentagon.
  •  Former Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry suggested that military enlistees aren’t very smart.

While Russia and China were developing new and massively lethal weapons systems aimed squarely at America, President Obama allowed every branch of the military to fall into a shocking state of disrepair.  In 2018, the year after Obama left office, a jaw-dropping report by the bi-partisan National Defense Strategy Commission found that due to the atrophied condition of its armed forces, America could struggle to win, or could lose – lose! – a war against Russia or China.

Frontline troops witnessed the military’s decline under Obama:  “The Army I joined during Barack Obama’s first term was nothing like the Army I left at the end of his second,” former Army Ranger captain and Afghanistan War veteran James Hasson told Fox News.  Hasson’s book, “Stand Down: How Social Justice Warriors Are Sabotaging America’s Military,” describes how cultural Marxists in the Pentagon continue to grind down one of America’s most indispensable institutions, its military.

My Letter to The Superintendent of West Point

West Point’s current superintendent, Lieutenant General Darryl A. Williams, has taken a lot of heat over his lenient treatment of black cadets caught cheating on a final exam last summer. I believe he likely had little leeway in dealing with the scandal. Dating to Obama’s administration and possibly earlier, all military installations, including the four service academies, have been directed to inject Critical Race Theory into every facet of military life.

Like LTG Williams, his counterpart at the Air Force Academy is also African American.

Dear Lt. Gen. Williams:

“A cadet will not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do.” To someone like me who has never served, West Point’s honor code seems unambiguous: cadets caught cheating on exams will face severe punishment.

Last May, when I presume classes were being taught online due to the pandemic, 73 freshmen cadets were accused of cheating on a final exam in calculus. Your chief of staff, Col. Mark Weathers, told USA Today that although he is disappointed in the cadets for cheating, he did not consider the incident a serious breach of code, speculating that cheating might not have occurred had the exam been taken in the classroom, rather than remotely. I’m sure it wasn’t Col. Weathers’ intent, but that rationalization comes close to sounding like cheating at West Point is no big deal as long as it occurs outside the classroom.

Col. Weathers’ position on the scandal was not the only suggestion that leniency is in order. In a memo to faculty, you wrote that the honor code constitutes “an inequitable application of consequences and developmental opportunities for select groups of cadets,” with one of the select groups to which you referred apparently being the disproportionate number of African American cadets implicated in the scandal.

If you were suggesting that black cadets generally receive an inferior pre-college education and therefore should receive leniency, I wholeheartedly agree with the first part of that position: that black cadets as a group are disproportionately burdened by a substandard pre-college education.

If, however, you meant to suggest that systemic racism in K-12 public schools is the reason for that educational handicap and that black honor code violators should therefore receive special treatment, I could not disagree more.

Please consider the following examples of the type of substandard education meted out to millions of young African American students:

  • In 2010-2011, public schools in the nation’s capitalspent$29,345 per pupil—nearly $600,000 per each classroom of 20 students—yet the District’s 8th graders finished dead last in a nationwide proficiency test in math and reading.
  • According to a 2015 report by the National Assessment of Educational Progress, 96 percent of 8th graders in Detroit’s public schools tested not proficient in math, and 93 percent tested not proficient in reading.
  • According to a 2017 investigation by Project Baltimore, 13 of the city’s 39 public high schools had zero students who tested proficient in math. Zero! Going back to 2011, nearly 90% of Baltimore elementary and middle schools fell short of academic targets on state assessment tests.

Similar horrendous results can be found in every big city school district in America. Since 100% of these districts portray themselves as passionate champions of anti-racism, their collective failure to adequately educate our country’s most vulnerable children is obviously not caused by systemic racism. Instead, blame can be placed squarely in the lap of blue city school systems that have failed for decades on end to provide even a minimally acceptable education to generations of minority students.

Your words seem to suggest that the cheating scandal should be downplayed because a disproportionate number of the accused cadets belong to a “select group,” the members of which share a characteristic—skin color—that is totally beyond their control. That’s not much different than saying cadets of color are inherently unable to conform to high honor standards, which is, of course,  patently untrue.

African American cadets are not hapless young men and women incapable of overcoming prior educational disadvantages without cheating. As a group, they are blessed with just as much native intellectual ability as their white counterparts, and therefore should not, in my opinion, be given special consideration regarding consequences for honor code violations. Like everyone else, they should be judged by the content of their character, not by an immutable attribute they inherited at birth. Any lesser standard seems patronizing.

The phrase “inequitable application of consequences … for select groups of cadets” sounds like the language of “critical race theory,” one of the most pernicious political constructs foisted on the military during President Obama’s eight years in office, A form of victim vs. oppressor ideology (Marxism), critical race indoctrination is used to advance the false narrative that black people in America just can’t catch a break because the nation in which they live is an incurably unjust place plagued by unchecked systemic racism.

West Point once had a zero tolerance policy regarding code violations—zero tolerance is what the 12 words of the etched-in-stone Cadet Honor Code strongly imply. As recently reported by NPR, a ‘second chance’ policy was put in place in 2015, sending the message that cheating is tolerated, provided it’s committed by members of “select groups,” and as long as it’s not done more than once.

If a code violation is tolerated once, why not twice? Or three times? Or ten? With the Pentagon soon to be hit by a new tsunami of social experimentation, further erosion of the honor code is all but certain.

The constant promotion of critical race theory and its first cousins—white privilege, Project 1619, political correctness, wokeness, etc.—is a major contributor to a sharp drop-off in feelings of patriotism in half of our country. Evidence that patriotic fervor has dropped like a rock on one side of the aisle is shown by a Gallup finding that less than a third of today’s Democrats are extremely proud of being Americans. Less than a third. Just as ominously, a 2019 survey by Public Opinion Strategies found that an astounding 77% of Democrats have fallen under the spell of socialism, the precursor of communism.

I presume you and your counterparts at the other service academies are under orders to inculcate critical race ideology into the institutions the four of you lead. If so, those orders must be obeyed. But doing so comes at a price.

Subjecting young, impressionable future military leaders to the poisonous idea that the nation they’re preparing themselves to serve is actually an incorrigible racist hellhole has a way of eroding love of country, likely causing some cadets and midshipmen to question whether their nation is worthy of being defended.

America’s deplorable history of slavery and segregation will always be a permanent stain on the legacy of an otherwise great nation. That unpleasant fact notwithstanding, it’s also a fact that a black child born in America today has the exact same legal right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness as a white child. As I’m sure you know, that wasn’t always the case.

There was a time in our country’s past when systemic racism was more than a political talking point. Having grown up in the Old South during Jim Crow, I witnessed real, unmistakable systemic racism with my own eyes. In that unenlightened era, black citizens were denied public accommodations, denigrated as lacking intelligence, forced to sit in the back of the bus and generally treated like dirt. When I enrolled at Georgia Tech in 1962, there were no black football or basketball players in the SEC, and only a handful of black students. But look at what’s happened since.

Although enormous strides have been made at mitigating racial injustice, no reasonable person would argue that things are anywhere close to being perfect. Fair-minded people agree that we must continually strive for improvement, but here’s something that’s almost never acknowledged: no nation in history has ever done more to correct wrongs once committed against an oppressed minority of its own citizens than has this great nation. If that was not so, you and Lt. Gen. Clark would not be wearing three stars.

Finally, in an 1838 speech in Springfield, Illinois, the future president who would end slavery in the United States said in so many words that if freedom in America is ever destroyed, its destruction will not come from the outside, but rather from within. The greatest threat our free country faces today is from the political party that churns the racial landscape as a means of achieving single-party socialist rule, the antithesis of the constitutional system that those in uniform risk their lives to protect and defend against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

Antifa supporter Daniel Alan Baker was arrested for plotting to murder Trump supporters and police on Inauguration Day.

He trained in Syria in 2017 with the YPG, was featured on VICE, and in 2020 participated in the CHAZ insurrection in Seattle, per DOJ documents.

Biden Says He Will ‘Defeat the NRA’ While in Office

President-elect Joe Biden on Jan. 8 promised to “defeat” the National Rifle Association while he’s in office.

Biden’s official Twitter account was responding to former Rep. Gabby Giffords (D-Ariz.), who was among 14 people wounded in a shooting rampage by Jared Lee Loughner in Tucson in 2011; six people died in the attack. Giffords had recounted how her life and community “changed forever.”

“But the attack did not break me—or the people I represented in Congress. We came together, turned pain into purpose, and found hope in each other,” she wrote, adding that she continues to work to “achieve a safer America.”

Biden responded, saying: “Your perseverance and immeasurable courage continue to inspire me and millions of others. I pledge to continue to work with you—and with survivors, families, and advocates across the country—to defeat the NRA and end our epidemic of gun violence.”

The NRA, which has more than 5 million members, seeks to protect and educate people about their Second Amendment rights.

While the association didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment on Biden’s post, its lobbying arm recently published an article that says Biden would “begin a concerted attack on the rights of American gun owners” after being inaugurated.

“We must be ready for the onslaught,” the post reads, adding that a Biden administration, if officials get their way, “will ban and confiscate the most-commonly-owned rifle in the United States” and “will arbitrarily limit the number of guns that can be bought per month,” among other measures.

Biden’s website says he has a plan to end “our gun violence epidemic” and boasts that he has taken on the NRA twice and won, referring to his help passing the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act in 1993 and in passing a 10-year ban on some weapons and magazines the following year.

“As president, Joe Biden will defeat the NRA again,” the site states.

Some of the proposals include banning the manufacture and sale of so-called assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, restricting the number of guns one person may buy per month to one, and prohibiting people convicted of hate crimes from owning guns.

On Thursday night, damning new footage showed CNN’s Jade Sacker inside of the Capitol with John Sullivan, the BLM member who was charged by federal prosecutors for inciting chaos on January 6th.

Sacker co-conspired with the liberal activist in order to cause chaos and make Trump supporters look bad.

The shocking video shows her and Sullivan celebrating and shouting “We did it!” when they got the footage they were looking for. When she asked Sullivan if he was filming, he said was going to delete it. He never did.

As you can see, Sacker and Sullivan are overjoyed with the fact that they got footage of Trump supporters “rioting”.

“Is this not gonna be the best film you’ve ever made in your life?!” Sullivan asks her.

Verified twitter user Amuse breaks everything down in further detail in a series of tweets.

“To make this clear. CNN was embedded with BLM/Antifa pretending to be Trump supporters taping them incite a riot. This is freaking huge. If CNN is allowed to maintain its press access anywhere in DC there needs to be a serious overhaul of our entire system,” he tweeted.

“According to sources she was working on a CNN project, but she’s done a lot of work for NBC and NPR. Sadly, as a ‘reporter’ she is exempt from every regulation and lockdown in the nation. She’s allowed to keep working while you and your children are stuck at home,” he concluded.

After helping to incite the wild protests, she was INTERVIEWED on CNN:

This is just more proof of how biased and evil the liberal media is.

Last week House Democrats reintroduced as H.R.1 a voting and campaign-finance bill that would grease the Democratic voting machine nationwide and restrict political opposition. They also introduced a bill to provide statehood for the District of Columbia that would guarantee Democrats two new Senate seats (WSJ). Meanwhile, we get this from The Daily Wire on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: “southern states are not red states.” They are, according to the Congresswoman, “suppressed states,” for which the “only” solution is “liberation … from economic, social, and racial oppression” (Daily Wire).

The Capitol protest is the Democrat version of the 1933 Reichstag fire which the National Socialist Workers Party (Nazis) used to seize almost unlimited power.

“Minnesota Man Pleads Guilty to Providing Material Support to ISIS,” Department of Justice, January 13, 2021 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

The Justice Department today announced the guilty plea of Abdelhamid Al-Madioum, 24, to one count of providing material support and resources, namely personnel and services, to ISIS, a designated foreign terrorist organization.

Al-Madioum, a native of Morocco and naturalized U.S. citizen, previously had been detained overseas by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and was subsequently transferred into FBI custody and returned to Minnesota. Al-Madioum entered his guilty plea today before Judge Ann D. Montgomery in U.S. District Court in Minneapolis, Minnesota. A sentencing date will be scheduled at a later time.

According to the defendant’s guilty plea and documents filed with the court, on June 23, 2015, Al-Madioum and his family traveled from St. Louis Park, Minnesota, to Casablanca, Morocco, to visit their extended family. On July 8, 2015, Al-Madioum left Morocco and traveled to Istanbul, Turkey. There, Al-Madioum met up with members of ISIS who aided his border-crossing into Syria. Once in Syria, the defendant joined other members of ISIS who brought him to Mosul, Iraq.

According to the defendant’s guilty plea, after Al-Madioum arrived in Mosul, he was administratively ISIS and received military training from its members. Al-Madioum was then assigned to the Tariq Bin-Ziyad Battalion of the Abu Mutaz al-Qurashi Division of ISIS, where he served as a solider for ISIS until 2016, when he was injured conducting military activities on behalf of ISIS. Following Al-Madioum’s injury, he remained a member of ISIS and continued to receive a stipend until his surrender to the SDF in or near Baghouz, Syria, in March of 2019. In September of 2020, Al-Madioum was returned to Minnesota.

This case is the result of an investigation conducted by the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force….

Is Biden Planning a ‘Covid Crisis’ Next Week When He Takes Power?

We have repeatedly written that, while Covid is a health issue as are all viruses, it has become a political weapon to control all aspects of our lives. Next week on January 20th, Biden will be sworn in as President. It is interesting that one healthcare worker has reported that she was informed that there will be a Covid Crisis announced during the same week.

Amazon has posted on its website the idea that Covid is a Crisis. If you happen to own an Amazon Echo Show, you will be bombarded with Covid information. NPR has done a series titled “The Coronavirus Crisis” to stoke fear in America.

Remember what then Chief-of-Staff to president elect Barack Obama Rahm Emanuel, Wall Street Journal interview on November 19, 2008,

“Never let a serious crisis go to waste?”

In my column “Biden and Democrats Go Full Fascist – 2021 is ‘The Era of the Fake Crisis'” I wrote:

Joe Biden and the Democrats have learned one lesson very well. Never let a serious crisis go to waste, even though there is no serious crisis.

Since the election of President Donald J. Trump the Democrats have created, out of thin air, crisis after crisis. Crisis allows tyrants to seize power and implement draconian laws to suppress and crush their opposition. We are seeing this playing out today in 2021 by the Democrats and their leader Biden.

I fully expect Biden to use this fake Covid Crisis to pass legislation that will undermine the freedoms of the American people. Biden will use Covid to fund his draconian programs as part of a bill that gives Americans some sort of a check. What we the people don’t understand is that this check will be used as a ruse to take away our lives, liberties and our abilities to pursue happiness.

The Covid Crisis will be used to foment the big lie that only government can save you. It will create fear, chaos and panic. This big lie will be spread by the legacy media and the truth censored by the social media platforms.

The year 2021 will go down in history as the beginning of the Democrat Party going full Fascist.

Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL, District 1) in an email explained in no uncertain terms how Democrats have ignored the Constitution in an attempt to undermine President Trump and his followers. Please read and watch the below video to understand how lawless the Democrats in Congress have become. They are drunk on their power.

TRANSCRIPT OF CONGRESSMAN MATT GAETZ’S EMAIL:

This has been a challenging week, and one that will be remembered poorly in the history of our Nation. Democrats have done monumental damage both to the institution of the Presidency, and to the legitimacy of the Congress.

On Tuesday, January 12, the House voted on H. Res. 21, a resolution calling on Vice President Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment, declare President Trump incapable of executing the duties of his office, and immediately assume the role of Acting President. The House voted on this legislation even though earlier that same day, Vice President Pence wrote in a letter that he would not take this course of action.

Part of the problem with H. Res. 21 is that it is fundamentally unconstitutional. The decision to deem the President “unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office” lies with the Vice President and the Cabinet — not with the Congress. The House cannot mandate Vice President Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment any more than the Vice President can force Congress to pass laws. The branches of government are, and must remain, separate.

H. Res. 21 also has no real effect whatsoever. The resolution is non-binding — it is merely an unconstitutional suggestion to the Vice President. The same suggestion could be made via a letter, a phone call, or even an email. (In fact, those would be more proper channels for this suggestion than a House Resolution).

I spoke against this misguided proposal, which nevertheless passed. My speech is below:

Wednesday was even worse. Less than 24 hours after passing H. Res. 21, House Democrats brought an impeachment resolution to the floor with lightning speed, claiming that President Trump had “incited insurrection” on January 6.

The problem is…he didn’t. President Trump’s speech asked protestors “to peacefully and patriotically make your voices be heard.” It is patently clear that the President did not provoke the violent riot that took place in the Capitol later that day, and many legal scholars agree. In fact, later that day, he told protestors again to stay peaceful, and then told them to go home. These statements were publicly available on his Twitter account — which was subsequently banned. (I would say “it’s funny how that works,” but there’s no humor to be found in big tech ‘colluding’ to silence the sitting President of the United States).

Yet the facts didn’t matter in the first wrongful impeachment, and they certainly didn’t matter in this one. It was simply an attempt by Democrats to punish the President because they don’t like him. Why else would they try to impeach a President with one week left in his term? In fact, the Senate portion of impeachment will not even begin until after President Trump has left office, and some House Democrats have indicated that they may wait until after the first hundred days of the new administration before sending the articles of impeachment to the Senate.

Impeachment in the absence of a crime sets a terrible precedent for Congress, and for the Presidency, in the future.

It is bad for America.

Guns Prevent Thousands of Crimes Every Day, Research Shows

How many lives are actually saved by gun ownership?

It never fails. A split-second after a mass shooting occurs, grandstanders and ideologues issue statements demanding new gun controls—even if the laws already on the books failed or the laws they want would have made no difference. Case in point: the tragic incidents in Dayton, Ohio, and El Paso, Texas, in early August 2019.

The message is clear: Guns cause violence. Tax them, take them, ban them, regulate them. Do something, maybe anything! Such knee-jerk, emotional responses are dangerous, writes Charles W. Cooke in National Review, “for when a nation sets up a direct pipeline between its emotions and its laws, it does not keep its liberty for long.”

Liberty isn’t the only thing likely to be lost when gun laws are passed to appease emotions over reason, evidence, logic, and rights. Lives will most assuredly be lost, too. Lots of them.

This raises a point amplified in another context almost two centuries ago by Frederic Bastiat in his famous essay with a title that sums it up, “That Which is Seen and That Which is Not Seen.”

How many lives are actually saved by gun ownership? This is a supremely important question that the grandstanders and ideologues usually—and conveniently—ignore. It’s a matter that came immediately to my mind when I learned of an incident here in my own town of Newnan, Georgia, a few days ago. The headline in the Newnan Times-Herald read, “Man Hospitalized After Being Shot Outside Bar.”

A little after 1:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, August 17, police arrived at Fat Boys Bar & Grill to respond to a shooting. A customer had threatened other patrons, prompting the establishment’s security to forcibly remove him. Enraged at being kicked out, he declared he was going to get a gun “and shoot the place up.”

This very angry (and possibly intoxicated) man then busted the window out of a friend’s car in the parking lot, grabbed a .40 caliber handgun from inside the car, and began firing in the air. In the meantime, Ben McCoy, a man who witnessed all of this from inside his own vehicle, happened to have his rifle with him. Before he could use it, he was shot four times by the man wielding the .40 caliber handgun, who then fled into the woods.

Fortunately, despite being hit in the chest, stomach, left arm and right thigh, McCoy is recuperating, and the assailant was quickly apprehended. No one was killed, but the situation would likely have been tragically different if Ben McCoy and his rifle hadn’t distracted the gunman.

Of course, in this particular incident it’s most unfortunate that an innocent man was shot. Don’t lose sight of the fact that his very presence, with a rifle, still prevented what could have been a bloodbath that might have even killed him too. What’s far more common is innocent gun owners using or brandishing a weapon and saving lives without any injuries at all except sometimes for the assailant. I chose this example because it was local and I wanted to express appreciation to Mr. McCoy.

I checked online and found some fascinating numbers. A good website with footnotes and references to authoritative sources is GunFacts.info. There I learned the following:

  • Guns prevent an estimated 2.5 million crimes a year, or 6,849 every day. Most often, the gun is never fired, and no blood (including the criminal’s) is shed.
  • Every year, 400,000 life-threatening violent crimes are prevented using firearms.
  • 60 percent of convicted felons admitted that they avoided committing crimes when they knew the victim was armed. Forty percent of convicted felons admitted that they avoided committing crimes when they thought the victim might be armed.
  • Felons report that they avoid entering houses where people are at home because they fear being shot.
  • Fewer than 1 percent of firearms are used in the commission of a crime.

If you doubt the objectivity of the site above, it’s worth pointing out that the Center for Disease Control, in a report ordered by President Obama in 2012 following the Sandy Hook Massacre, estimated that the number of crimes prevented by guns could be even higher—as many as 3 million annually, or some 8,200 every day.

Another excellent source of information on this topic (and many more current issues) is the Gun Control page at JustFacts.org. (Full disclosure: I serve on the board of directors of JustFacts because I believe in the organization’s objectiveness, accuracy, and integrity.)

In “Defensive Gun Use is More Than Shooting Bad Guys,” James Agresti, founder and president of JustFacts, provided overwhelming evidence from multiple sources showing that defensive gun use is more common and effective than anti-gun fanatics like The New York Times suggest or will admit. Agresti says that “people who use a gun for defense rarely harm (much less kill) criminals. This is because criminals often back off when they discover their targets are armed.”

John Lott, author of the book, “More Guns, Less Crime,” is president of the Crime Prevention Research Center, another outstanding source for info on this subject. He writes:

By 66 percent to 32 percent, economists and criminologists answer that gun-free zones are “more likely to attract criminals than they are to deter them.” A 60 percent to 40 percent margin thinks that guns in the home do not increase suicides. And a 62 percent to 35 percent spread says that guns are used in self-defense to stop crime more often than in the commission of crime.

This may explain why even The New York Times hasn’t yet put a billboard up by its offices that screams, “This is a Gun-Free Zone. There are No Guns Here.”

If we can just confiscate the estimated 350 million guns in the country, you might ask, then won’t we eliminate the offensive use of firearms, so we won’t need any of those many defensive uses? Good luck with that. Is there any reason to believe that such a war on guns would be any more successful than the government’s war on drugs? Even a fifth-grader could tell you that it would be largely the innocent who would be disarmed. Criminals would have no problem keeping their guns or getting replacements on a thriving black market.

So that leaves me with gratitude for the Ben McCoys of the world, the law-abiding gun owners who are every bit as important as the cops—and likely even more so—in the effort to keep the innocent safe and sound.
