VIDEO: We should all be thankful that God is not fair

We’ve all heard a million times: Life’s not fair. The first time we probably heard it was when we got punished for something by our parents.  Suddenly the realization dawned on us that until we left their house, life was never going to be “fair.”

Well, here’s a meditation to think on for Lent: God is not fair — not in the slightest bit fair — and thank God for it.

That, of course, is Mother Miriam. We’ve kind of adopted her as our Church Militant mom since she was up here in the summer, where we shot some interviews with her where she was our guest for a few days.

At Church Militant, we love bringing you these interviews with various notables in the Church — clerics, prelates, theologians, religious — each one in love with Our Lord’s Holy Catholic Church. The reason is pretty obvious: With all the confusion (and confusion is the watchword in the Church these days), you need to hear voices of clarity — Catholic clarity, with no ambiguity — not the slightest hint of doubt or wavering or ambiguity. One of the glories of the Church is Her brilliant clarity. It’s one of the shining jewels She wears.

But we know there are various people in the Church who revel in vagueness, who love the confusion because of the damage it causes. They want to refashion the Faith, the Church. They want to recreate Her in their own image. People like Mother Miriam and many others — we’d like to include ourselves in that number and all of you — are not going to let that happen.

In these first few weeks of 2016, Church Militant has brought or will shortly be bringing you interviews with Dr. Alice von Hildebrand, Bp. Rene Gracida, Dr. Charles Rice, of course Mother Miriam, Bp. Athanasius Schneider, Bp. Anthony Borwah and others to be announced later. We need to hear from people like this — dedicated committed Catholics.

One of the results of the confusion and Modernism almost omnipresent in the Church these days is the feeling of isolation it can bring for so many. As the Faith dwindles more and more owing to the confusion, more and more people feel deserted or left alone, thinking or wondering if they are the crazy ones for believing what the Church teaches because everyone keeps telling them that.

You are not crazy, and you are not alone.

These great minds we get to interview — minds imbued with wisdom and insight — should convince you that you are not alone, and certainly not crazy. They know in the end that whatever happens, the Church is right, and that is our great hope.

Ninety percent fewer seminarians; 35 percent fewer priests, and many are old; 92 percent fewer religious brothers; 90 percent fewer nuns and sisters — all in the space of just 50 years.

The drop in the numbers of men and women willing to give their lives for the Church has been beyond dramatic. Certainly, it isn’t news that there are enormously fewer numbers of priests, sisters and brothers than in days gone by, but what needs to be understood is why this happened.

It isn’t enough to just make it a simple, overly broad answer like “Vatican II caused it.” To whatever degree, the Second Vatican Council is involved, it only provided the means. It wasn’t gradual; it was a spiritual meteorite that hit the Church in the late 1960s. What we are feeling today is the lingering effect of it.

If the Church is going to rebuild Herself, we need to ensure that the same mistakes are not repeated. Facts have to be faced and examined objectively. Something was already present in the Church before Vatican II that allowed for the implosion of the Faith.Never forget that every bishop at Vatican II who signed the documents had been born, baptized, confirmed and ordained in the Old Rite. So the notion that the Old Rite — meaning the Traditional Latin Mass — is a cure-all is not well thought out.

The Church imploded when the TLM was the normal, usual routine. Something was already stirring in the souls of many laity and religious prior to the Council. Mass attendance before the Council was already on the way down before the Council, across the West. Obviously, it got a lot worse after Vatican II, but the dynamite was already laid.

The state of the Church in those days running up to the Council may very well have been a case of a mile wide and inch deep, in other words, the termites had already been at work for some time, so when the strong wind blew, it didn’t take much to bring the whole house down.

The same was true of religious orders at the time. They were burgeoning, busting at the seams. How did the convents and monasteries empty out so fast? Remember, it was not just the case that people stopped coming. It was the case that people stopped coming secondarily. The primary disaster was that the already professed left in droves.

So what was wrong just below the surface with all these vocations? That many would not ever come, while sad, is not shocking. What is shocking is those that had already dedicated themselves to the religious life, made vows, took oaths and so forth — that these would just chuck their vows aside.

And more to the point, as the Church tries to resurrect from this implosion, we need to be certain that we aren’t laying the groundwork for the same thing to happen again, if not at this moment, then somewhere shortly down the road.

All of this is the topic for this week’s “Mic’d Up,” a fantastic discussion about the collapse and resurrection of the religious orders.

What is needed in any vocation is love for the Faith. And it has to surpass the love of evil that enemies of the Church have. The zeal for evil among Planned Parenthood supporters, for example, is enviable. The degree of constancy and conviction that those dedicated to the destruction of the Faith have is astounding.

Venerable Bp. Sheen used to say: “The Communists have all zeal and no truth, and we Catholics have all truth and no zeal.” The religious orders ultimately fell apart because they fell out of love with Our Lord and His Holy Catholic Church. When the opportunity presented itself, and there became a choice between Our Lord and His Holy Bride, they looked at each and chose the lesser.

That can happen to any one of us, religiously professed or lay person. People have to love; their relationship with truth, with the Faith, must be enhanced and advanced daily. They must have a sense of mission; we must have a sense of mission.

The problem facing the Church today is that the sense of mission has been reduced to a watered-down emotionalism where the mission is your feelings. That’s not mission; that’s ego. We must be in love with Our Lord in His Church — not some in love with some imaginary feeling of being in love.

Love compels greatness; it compels sacrifice; it compels a vocation.

As an early “religious” once said, “If I have not love, I am a noisy gong and clanging symbol” (1 Cor. 13:1).

On February 5, 2016, the Alberta Islamic Welfare Association hosted a Family Day event for Syrian refugees and their families, along with members of the local Muslim community in Edmonton and the Imam Shaban Sherif Mady.

In his speech to the Syrian refugees, Shaban Sherif Mady greeted them, emphasized the merits of the people of Greater Syria in the eyes of Allah for defeating the Crusaders and the Tatars, and ended with a supplication to Allah.

The following is an excerpt of the supplication (originally in Arabic):

“O Allah! Strengthen the mujahideen [jihad fighters in the path of Allah] everywhere, make their hearts firm and strong, let them hit their targets, give them victory over their enemies.

“O Allah! Destroy the oppressors.

“O Allah! Destroy your enemies, the enemies of religion [Islam].

“O Allah! Whoever wishes good for Islam and the Muslims, bestow all goodness upon him.

“O Allah! Whoever wishes ill for us and wishes ill for Islam and the Muslims, make his plot [tied] around his neck and make him preoccupied with himself, and make his plan cause his own destruction.”…

VIDEO: Walmart Refuses To Make Cake with Confederate Flag But Makes Islamic State Cake

According to recent reports, a Walmart in Slidell, Louisiana just crossed a major line.

One local resident walked into the super store with hopes of getting a cake with a Confederate flag decoration on top. Walmart refused to make the cake.

Now, we are aware that the Confederate flag is controversial, but its not illegal. Southerners have stood behind the historical symbol as one of Southern Pride. Of course, liberals have tried to twist this into a racist symbol.

Now, Walmart may have been taking a stand, but Chuck Netzhammer wanted to see just how far the store would go to defend their beliefs. So the very next day, he went back and ordered a cake with an ISIS cake on it.

To his dismay, Walmart obliged.

“Alright, Walmart, you’ve got some explaining to do,” Netzhammer said in a video he posted to YouTube, which has since gone viral.

VIDEO: The Supreme Court Pause of EPA’s Carbon Regulations Explained

Why did the Supreme Court pause EPA’s Clean Power Plan?

The Supreme Court granted a stay of EPA’s carbon regulations—the Clean Power Plan.

The Wall Street Journal editorial board called it an “important rebuke to the political method of the anticarbon activists in the EPA and White House.”

Ditching fossils fuels will be a capital-intensive and generation-long transition, to the extent it is possible, and states must submit compliance plans as soon as this September that are supposed to last through 2030, or be subject to a federal takeover.

The legal challenges will take years, but the EPA hopes to engineer a fait accompli by bullrushing the states into making permanent revisions immediately. Once the Clean Power Plan starts, it becomes self-executing. If the EPA loses down the road, it will laugh that the opinion is too late and thus pointless.

The stay suggests that a majority of the Court won’t allow this deliberate gaming of the slow pace of the legal process to become de facto immunity for anything the EPA favors. It’s especially notable because courts tend to be highly deferential to executive regulation.

VIDEO: Terrorists to Register 1 Million U.S. Muslim Voters

Nihad Awad, Executive Director of the Council for American Islamic Relations (CAIR), calls for Muslims to use their mosques for Voter Registration and Polling Stations with the aim of registering 1,000,000 Muslim Voters!

According to the Investigative Project on Terrorism:

Nihad Awad is among the founders of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and serves as its executive director. In that role, he has attained a degree of political clout, invited to stand beside President George W. Bush at the Islamic Center of Washington days after the 9/11 attacks. Before that, Vice President Al Gore appointed Awad to a civil rights advisory panel for the White House Commission on Aviation Safety and Security.

These are influential recognitions for a man with past ties to Hamas, designated a foreign terrorist organization by the United States in 1995. In fact, Awad publicly declared “I am in support of the Hamas movement,” during a March 1994 symposium at Barry University.

Parents Outraged at ‘Racially Divisive White Guilt Video’

GlenAllenHSVirginia parents were in an uproar after officials at Glen Allen High School in Henrico showed students a controversial video as part of Black History Month.

The video, titled “Structural Discrimination: The Unequal Opportunity Race,” covers issues like racial profiling, manifest destiny and the “school to prison pipeline.” This animation was commissioned by the African American Policy Forum.

“Dr. King gave his life so that America would be a place where we are judged by the content of our character not the color of our skin,” radio personality Craig Johnson told WWBT-TV.

“Now we have poverty pimps being led by our current president Barack Obama who all they talk about is the color of skin.” The video depicts four individuals of different ethnicities running a race.

While two white individuals run the course, the other individuals are faced with road blocks like a pool of sharks and a police checkpoint.

It ends with the statement: “Affirmative action helps level the playing field.”

One parent wrote a letter expressing concern that the video was causing tensions within the school.

“Y’all are privileged. Get the – blank – over it,” read one of numerous tweets about the topic, according to that same parent.

Other relatives of students had a different view. “They are sitting there watching a video that is dividing them up from a racial standpoint.

It’s a white guilt kind of video,” Don Blake, whose granddaughter attended the assembly, said. “I think somebody should be held accountable for this.”

Bring Americans ‘Victimized by Immigration’ Out of the Shadows

COLUMBIA, S.C. /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) launched TV ads across South Carolina today encouraging presidential hopefuls to focus more attention on helping struggling Americans and less on making it easier for illegal aliens to take jobs, commit crimes and get in-state college tuition. The ads will air in all major markets in South Carolina hundreds of times over the next two weeks.

“For years Americans have been told that we need to bring illegal aliens out of the shadows. Here’s a better idea. Bring Americans victimized by immigration out of the shadows,” commented Dan Stein, President of FAIR. “It’s pretty simple.  If you want to be President of the United States of America, you need to put American citizens first.”

America’s broken immigration system has a devastating effect on Americans across the country. Workers lose jobs and experience wage depression. The burden of unpaid healthcare bills for illegal aliens is being passed on to taxpayers. Thousands of Americans have been brutally murdered, raped and assaulted by illegal aliens. Many of those illegal aliens have been deported on multiple occasions but return to the country to live in “sanctuary cities.” In many states, illegal aliens are given in-state tuition even though American kids aren’t getting the same consideration. In the tech industry, Americans are made to train their foreign worker replacements before being given pink slips.

While South Carolina’s economy has improved over the last couple years, there are still thousands unemployed or underemployed, especially in the African American community where employment rates continue to lag far behind the white population.

“With U.S. manufacturing contracting, now more than ever our leaders need to stand up for working people in South Carolina,” commented Dan Stein. “Our so-called economic recovery is leaving whole segments of American society behind, and voters across the country understand that our immigration policies are undermining their fundamental interests. Maybe our leaders will finally get it if South Carolina voters send them a message at the polls.”

The TV commercial also raises the issue of crimes committed by illegal aliens against American citizens and features Jamiel Shaw, a star high school football player brutally murdered in Los Angeles by an illegal alien. More recently, Kate Steinle was shot to death by an illegal alien while walking with her dad in San Francisco. And in South Carolina, Joyce Dargan, a mother of two, was killed by an illegal alien just outside her home.

“Immigration is a critical issue in the 2016 campaign for a reason: Voters do not feel that their interests are being served by our immigration policies, or that the political establishment even cares about their concerns. The issues raised in these ads can no longer be ignored,” Stein concluded.

Video – Row, Row Your Boat into Islamic State Land

There’s no doubt the idea of the Islamic State is very attractive for many Muslim’s around the world. Behold – a caliphate was established in which every Muslim can plant roots and where sharia is the order of the day.

Because of this many Muslims relocate to ISIS territory and others donate money to the Islamic state.

Nevertheless, of late it seems not everything is rosy in the Islamic state and people, particularly in the West, are not so thrilled at the prospect of giving up a life of luxury to move to Islami- State land, especially when it is in the context of jihad.

Apparently, many Muslims understandably conceive the idea of jihad as something equating to certain death.

As a result, it is now tougher for ISIS to recruit fighters and therefore the organization has changed tactics. Instead of calling Muslims to join a jihad, ISIS is using a new slogan “migrate (hijrah) to the Islamic State.”

Jihad today, especially as viewed by ISIS, is a violent struggle against infidels or Muslims that are not properly implementing the laws of sharia.

The hijrah is a concept that describes the migration of the Prophet Mohammed from Mecca to Medina in 622 AD. That event marks the starting point of the Islamic calendar. So, when a Muslim performs hijrah, this is a re-enactment of the life of Mohammed and a connection with the roots of the faith. ISIS hopes this will be perceived as making one’s life more meaningful.

With this in mind, we can understand a new ISIS video clip published on February 2, entitled We Will Surely Cause Him to Live a Good Life (a translation of the Quran: Chapter 16 The Bee; Verse 97).

It should be mentioned jihad plays a role in the film but is not the main part. ISIS combines the principles of happiness and family values.

The clip begins with images of the Islamic State attacks on the West in order to show how bad things are in that part of the world, as opposed to the peaceful life in the caliphate.

Early in the video one sees happy children living in the Islamic state:

The clip’s title follows, with a blonde child in the background, giving the viewer the impression the infant is being held by a jihadist:

The clip portrays more serene images. However, the key scene begins pastorally, with a rowing boat making its way across blue water, with mountains in the background. Enter our hero. Abu Shahid the Belgian. He is sitting in the boat. Next to him is his young child. While Abu Shahid talks, his daughter rows the boat.

Our hero tells the audience of his hijrah (immigration), which he describes as a journey from slavery to freedom under sharia:

He relates of an idyllic state, which includes people from across the globe: Africa, Europe, Asia and America, in which there is no racism, the door is open for all and everyone helps their neighbor.

Father and daughter then prepare, cook and share a picnic with like-minded folk in the countryside:

There is no doubt the aim of the film is to recruit new fighters to the organization. ISIS is simply attempting to sweeten the pill.

If the Muslim’s in the West won’t fall for the softly-softly approach and particularly if Western nations start to strengthen liberal Muslims domestically, ISIS will probably face a tough challenge in recruiting new warriors.
