Congressional Candidate Says Biden EPA Has Acted Like ‘Gestapo,’ Mistreated Residents In East Palestine Cleanup

A Republican candidate for the House of Representatives ripped the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Thursday, saying it was “mistreating residents” of East Palestine, Ohio.

President Joe Biden announced Wednesday he would visit the city where the Feb. 3, 2023, derailment occurred, fulfilling a promise to visit East Palestine made in March 2023. The derailment caused people to evacuate after chemicals were spilled. Dr. Rick Tsai, who is running for the House seat vacated when Republican Rep. Bill Johnson of Ohio resigned to become president of Youngstown State University, blasted the EPA and federal government during an appearance on The Vince Coglianese Show.

“I don’t think the world knows the whole truth about what happened here and is still going on in East Palestine,” Tsai told,  Coglianese, who is also the Daily Caller’s editorial director.

Officials warned of a possible “catastrophic blast” at the derailment site Feb. 6, 2023, and carried out a controlled burn of chemicals, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported.

“The government put the entity that caused this catastrophe in control of the clean-up and they’ve almost been like the Gestapo here, mistreating residents,” Tsai added.

Tsai has done his own testing of local creeks, saying he has found elevated levels of benzene, according to WKYC.

“As of yesterday or the day before, Ann Vogel of the Ohio EPA was saying they have no evidence of chemicals in our land or a creek,” Tsai told Coglianese. “I can give a seven-year-old a stick and teach him how to find these chemicals. I don’t know how the EPA doesn’t do it with their millions of dollars at you, know their beck and call.”

Former President Donald Trump visited East Palestine in February 2023, donating bottled water and pallets of supplies to assist residents in the town.

Mayorkas Impeachment Effort Progresses as Urgency at Border Intensifies

On Wednesday, the House Homeland Security Committee approved two articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for violating 12 immigration and border security laws. The move comes as traditional defenders of the Biden administration in the legacy media are now admitting that a “humanitarian crisis” is currently occurring at America’s southern border.

The articles of impeachment accuse Mayorkas of refusing to enforce multiple elements of the Immigration and Nationality Act, which requires that all illegal immigrants seeking admission be detained until they are granted asylum or parole. The articles note that Mayorkas instead “implemented a catch and release scheme … without effective mechanisms to ensure” that the migrants appear before the immigration court to determine if they can be lawfully admitted. The DHS secretary was also accused of making false statements to Congress when he claimed that “the border is secure” and that DHS had maintained “operational control” of the border.

House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green (R-Tenn.) stated that Mayorkas “refused to comply with the laws” and “has breached public trust,” commenting that he was “proud” to advance the articles. The Mayorkas impeachment now moves to a full House vote, with House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) declaring last week that the articles will be voted on “as soon as possible.”

The potential impeachment comes as the outlook on a Senate funding bill that would include provisions to tighten border security remains uncertain. On Tuesday, President Joe Biden claimed that he needs Congress to pass the bill in order for him to have the “power” to regain border control. But border and immigration experts say that Biden already has the power to regain control of the border through executive order by reinstating the Remain in Mexico policy, among other actions.

On Wednesday’s edition of “Washington Watch with Tony Perkins,” Rep. Gary Palmer (R-Ala.) contended that the Mayorkas impeachment articles were justified. “First of all, he committed a felony,” he observed. “He perjured himself in testimony before Congress multiple times. And I think he’s also failed to uphold his responsibilities, his sworn duty to faithfully enforce the laws of the nation.”

Palmer went on to detail what he saw during a recent visit to the southern border.

“I’ve been to the border multiple times, and literally my last trip, when 64 Republicans went down to the border in the first week of January, I broke away from the main group because I knew that the Border Patrol agents and local law enforcement would talk to me individually and say things that they wouldn’t say to the group while I was standing there,” he explained. “… As soon as [I] got to the riverbank, there [was] a group of men [that] came out from under the riverbank, waded across this little canal, and came up the bank right where I was standing. … They’re all young adult males from Venezuela and Honduras. For Mayorkas to say to the American people, much less to Congress under oath, with the threat of perjury, that the border secure, is…” Palmer shook his head.

He further described what happens when an individual presents themselves at the border.

“[The Biden administration has] thrown open the door. [Migrants] … turn themselves in to the Border Patrol. They’re processed, they’re given health care checkups, given cell phones. They’ll transport them wherever they want to go. Think about the 1.7 [million] gotaways. … [T]hat’s the thing that should frighten every American. We know we’ve interdicted 312 known or suspected terrorists on the terrorist watch list, but we have no idea who came across in that 1.7 million gotaways.”

Palmer concluded by urging believers to pray and vote for an expanded GOP majority in Congress and a Republican president in order to secure the border. “That’s another thing that people can put on their prayer list is we need to hold the majority. We need to expand our majority. Get the Senate. Get a Republican in the White House. And for God to give us one more chance to get the country back on the right track.”

Israeli Leader: The World Is Telling Hamas That ‘The Path of Terror Is Worth It’

“I go to sleep a dead man.” That’s the only way Liri Albag’s father can describe what it’s like to know his daughter is a hostage in Gaza. He holds up a picture of his beautiful girl before captivity — and another, the unrecognizable face of his 18-year-old looking dirty, dazed, and disheveled. Somewhere, deep underground, she waits for help that has not come. “I want to show to the world,” a pained Eli tells reporters. “This is the same girl — it is not different girls,” he pleads. It’s the face of a girl who’s seen unspeakable horrors. Horrors that will not stop if Israel does.

For Liri and so many others, the one blessing is that they do not hear the world telling the Jewish State to stand down. They aren’t near televisions where news reports scream for two-state solutions and political leaders without a daughter in Hamas’s hands call for an end to the invasion. They don’t know that barely five months removed from the massacre that killed 1,200 Israelis that their friend America is dangerously close to betraying them.

The lucky ones, the girls who survived weeks in those tunnels, talk like ghosts who have seen the worst of humankind. “Have you eaten enough today,” Agam Goldstein-Almog asks the female hostages still in Gaza. “Has he harmed you again? Has he asked you, again, if you’re married, if he could set you up with someone from Gaza? Has he entered your shower again, stripped the pajamas that he gave you, touched the wound from the bullet that he shot, that really hurt you? But his control hurt more.”

Knowing — and not knowing — is what’s hardest for Eli. “We know that some of the girls,” he pauses, “it’s very difficult to say this, [but] they attacked them, sexually, and we are worried.” When he asks the women who are released about whether they were raped, they look away.

Like all of the parents, he knows the stories. Agam and her mother saw the haunted faces of others who had been severely sexually abused. Through “great difficulty and tears,” the answer was almost always yes. “Suddenly, they had a friend to tell, someone they could unburden themselves to. We cried together.”

So imagine being a parent or survivor and hearing the world’s demand that their tormenters be rewarded — that in exchange for this unspeakable cruelty they earn their own state. Ohad Tal, a member of the Israeli Knesset for the Religious Zionist Party, can only shake his head in disbelief. “It’s just unbelievable,” he told Family Research Council President Tony Perkins on “Washington Watch.” “I mean, basically what [these people are] trying to say is that Israel doesn’t have the basic right to defend itself. … Because, I mean, we didn’t initiate anything with Hamas, just to remind everyone.”

And yet now, leaders from around the globe — including some mixed messages from our own U.S. leaders, are “telling Hamas after the atrocities of October 7th that what they will get is a fully functioning state from the hands of America, basically, is telling them that the path of terror, this is the right path to go. It’s worth it. This is what we’re telling them, right? And I think it’s a huge mistake, not just for Israel. It’s a huge mistake for the world.”

Tal, like so many Israelis, has trouble believing how many countries have abandoned them after such an unprovoked and brutal slaughter of innocent people. “We have to understand that on October 7th, something unbelievable happened in Israel,” he insisted. “Something that’s really beyond imagination. I mean, Hamas fighters — but not only them, actually, because it was also Islamic Jihad and random Gazans who came into Israel [too] — penetrated into the kibbutzim, to the villages around Gaza, and basically butchered 1,200 Israelis [including] kids in their beds. They raped women, they beheaded babies. They slaughtered parents in front of their kids and took 240 of them into Gaza.”

He told the story of a father, whose name is Ohad — just like him — who was hijacked and taken “with his whole family — his wife Batsheva and their three kids — into Gaza.” “The wife, Batsheva, and two kids succeeded to escape, because they took them on motorbikes. … [and] she took three kids with her. But one of the terrorists didn’t give up — and took from her hands one of her kids into Gaza.”

“Just really try to imagine,” Tal said with emotion, “a mother that sees her husband and her son being taken away, brutally taken away from her to the unknown — to the terrorists of Gaza.” We are talking, he insisted, about an atrocity that is “unprecedented in human history.” And right now, as we speak, there are 136 hostages still in the hands of terrorists. “Among them babies. Babies,” he emphasized. “I mean, these are things really are beyond imagination.”

So when he hears politicians or protestors calling for a two-state solution, this Knesset member wants to remind people that Israel tried that. In fact, Tal pointed out, they gave up their own land in 2005 to make it work. That was a mistake, he admitted. Letting Hamas have functional control of Gaza didn’t fix anything. “Many people thought that, you know, if we will improve their economy, if we will allow Palestinians to come to Israel to work, to earn decent money, that will take away their desire to destroy us, that will create a better feeling that we are neighbors. But it didn’t turn out.”

And now, the idea that Israel should return to that after the evil and injustice they’ve experienced is ludicrous. As Rep. Scott Perry (R-Pa.) described it, what you’d have under this so-called “two-state solution” is a scenario “where Israel’s here, Gaza’s there: two different states, and one continues to attack the other.”

Because again, Tal explained, “within the Middle East, everything is very simple. … If you’re weak, we will come and bite you. This is how it goes. … You have to remember [Hamas] succeeded [in doing] something that all the Arab armies didn’t succeed to do in 75 years. They tried. They didn’t succeed. [Hamas] did it in one day. And if [they] get a state at the end of it, it means it was worth it.”

And what will happen then? “Radical Islam, because of it, will raise its head all over the world. [You] can already see it. It begins in Europe. You can already see they’re telling the Christians in Europe, ‘We want to apply Sharia rules here in your countries, you are our slaves.’ This is how they treat Christians in Europe today. This is what we want to see in America. This is what we want to see in the entire Western civilization, because this is what will happen ahead.”

So while the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) tediously go through the deadly work of smoking out Hamas, the world needs to understand that this is a very complicated situation, Tal reiterated. “… [Gaza] is not [as] small as people maybe tend to think.” And with the “unbelievable” amount of tunnels and underground facilities — “thousands of miles of them” — it’s not easy. He estimates that the IDF has destroyed about 20% of the tunnels, and of the 40,000 fighters, soldiers have killed about 10,000 — so “about a quarter.” “And this is after four months of fighting,” he pointed out. “So there’s still a lot of work that needs to be done. And it takes time, and we have to have patience. And I think also the administration here in America has to have patience and understand that it takes time.”

If they need to be reminded why Israel is doing this, the nightmarish images from October 7 should be more than enough motivation. “Along with other members [of the] Knesset, I watched a video of these inhuman acts, recorded largely by the terrorist themselves — the sites of the joyful mutilation of our people by the hands of Hamas death squads. [It] sent a strong and enduring message to all of us that we must reassess everything.”

The Palestinians do not want to have a state side by side with Israel, Tal insisted. “They want a state instead of Israel. And we will never accept that.” Look at history, he urged at Wednesday’s National Gathering of Prayer and Repentance. “Every time Israel has retreated from a territory, it has been attacked from there.”

“We need to send a very clear message that terror cannot pay nor be rewarded. This is a war between good and evil. There is no gray area. Humanity has to make a choice. … And I call on everyone present here today to stay with us. Stand on the right side of history. Stand with the good in prayer and action.”

The Congressional Uni-Party Continues to Bury America, like Venezuela, Deeper and Deeper into Debt

The Constitutional Republic of the United States is currently being run like a Communist Venezuelan “Democracy.”

The interest alone on the out of control U.S. national debt is approaching the annual appropriations price tag for our military and national security defense expenditures.

Megan Henney  from FOX Business reported,

The U.S. national debt is climbing at an astronomical pace and has shown no signs of slowing down despite the heightened scrutiny on government spending.

The national debt — which measures what the U.S. owes its creditors — fell to $34,088,375,076,993.31 trillion as of Wednesday afternoon, according to the latest numbers published by the Treasury Department. That is down about $21 billion from the $34,109,378,375,744.03 figure reported the previous day.

By comparison, just four decades ago, the national debt hovered around $907 billion.

The Congressional House Republican and Democrat Communist ran Uni-Party control all expenditures from the Treasury Department.

So the buck stops with those individuals in the Uni-Party congress approving the appropriations currently burying our nation in debt. Instead of a balanced budget they continue to fund useless back door Continuing Resolutions.

Our fractured political system Is ran by two incompetent political parties with massive corruption and the rampant tax and spend fleecing of the American tax payer will probably eventually collapse our economy.

The fake news media continues to blame former President Trump for adding 2 trillion plus to the deficit for his tax cuts instead of blaming the congress for failing to stop the insane spending.

This intentional internal attack on our republic by the Uni-Party Communists will eventually lead to another civil war in my opinion.

Our founding fathers did make sure to include a 2nd amendment in our Bill of Rights to prepare for and approve of this eventuality.

Right now we also have political prisoners incarcerated for trying to bring attention to a massive fraud election via a peaceful (for the most part) constitutionally protected 1st Amendment protest on the Capital on January 6th 2021.

Now in February 2024, Instead of securing our borders with walls and razor wire the Communists are trying to decide how much money to borrow from Communist China to build walls and put razor wire around judicial buildings in the swamp filled Washington, D.C.

This tax payer expense is for Trumps upcoming banana republic trial initiated by Biden’s Marxist weaponized Justice Dept.

Apparently the Biden Administration is afraid of we the people initiating action to protect Trump from their illegal fraud prosecution of our former President vice securing our borders.

As an example, over 7.7 million Venezuelans have left Venezuela, a nation that the United States Congress and Biden economic policies are emulating.

Where can Americans flee now to escape political persecution and the economic turmoil headed our way if our nation collapses like Venezuela?

My Venezuelan wife was granted asylum in the republic of Colombia for 10 years before relocating to Florida to be with me via the “legal” immigration process.

Let’s not destroy our republic with the Biden Uni-Party Marxist agenda as there is no place else left to go.

The majority of the 800,000 Venezuelans and two million plus Cubans living legally in the USA support Trump.

Those who have been granted U.S. citizenship will no doubt be voting for him. They have no place else to go for freedom.

So take a stand and vote in November 2024 to return Trump back to the White House. Our children and grandchildren are depending on us and Trump to keep them free.

Daily Caller’s ‘Rigged’ Reveals Radical Steps Democrats Have Taken To Undermine Elections

In Biden’s America, it’s easy to forget what normal feels like. We feel the impact of Democrats’ radical shift on virtually every issue and lose sight of the fact that things don’t have to be this way. In fact, only a few short years ago, Americans could basically all agree on the fundamentals.

Nowhere is this more clear than in our most time-honored tradition: safe and secure elections.

In the Daily Caller’s latest documentary, “Rigged,” we expose the radical tactics that brought America to the brink in the 2020 election. We prove that it’s not Republicans who have changed how they think about elections, but Democrats who have run off a cliff of extremism with only one goal in mind: to rig elections in perpetuity.

“Rigged” is available exclusively for Patriots subscribers. Subscribe here to watch now, and check out our collection of other original documentaries as well.

Catch an exclusive first glimpse below.

Watch a few minutes of the corporate media, and you’d think that Republicans have gone insane. In the Trump era, it’s said Republicans use every dirty trick in the book to “suppress” and “restrict” the vote. There is constant talk of the Republican “assault on voting rights” and overall “threats to democracy.” Major companies often use their market power to reinforce the party line, as in the corporate protests over Georgia’s voting reforms. Hell, not-Governor of Georgia Stacy Abrams still insists her ill-fated campaign was a victim of a “stolen election.”

But ‘Rigged’ shows what Democrats really mean when they use this sort of language. The Daily Caller spoke with Hans von Spakovsky, head of the Heritage Foundation’s Election Law Reform Initiative, who explained just how radical Democrats have become.

The first case to shine a spotlight on election integrity came in 2000, with a hotly contested presidential election that ended in legal battles, recounts, and eventually, a 537 vote margin of victory for George W. Bush in Florida. Seeing the need to restore confidence, Spakovsky explains how both sides came together in good faith to repair the “deep disillusionment” the American people felt toward the election systems. The 2004 Carter-Baker Commission put forward bipartisan recommendations for how to achieve common sense reforms: how to “maintain clean voter rolls,” “make sure people aren’t registered in more than one state” and ensure absentee ballots are handled “with very secure means.”

Yet today, when Democrats speak of voter “suppression,” what they really mean is anything that furthers these goals they once supported. Now, they even seek to reverse them. Examining how Democrats now work to “loosen up the rules around our elections,” Josh Findlay of the Texas Public Policy Foundation’s Election Protection Project explained the “three main functions” of Democrats’ election policy.

First, they aim to create “the widest universe of voters,” with pushes to lower age and citizenship requirements. Next, they want to “create as many ballots as possible,” flooding the country with mail-in and absentee ballots that require little identity verification. And the ultimate goal is to “get ballots in boxes” — giving Americans nearly endless and effortless ways to vote.

The media, of course, tries to conceal this with a bait and switch: the question, as Spakvosky points out, is not whether this results in “widespread” voter fraud necessarily, as the media assures us cannot happen and as 2020 proves is exceedingly difficult to substantiate. Rather the question that must be asked is, “are these elections we can have confidence in?”

As ‘Rigged’ proves, the answer is a resounding no. Democrats used to agree with Republicans on the importance of election integrity; now, they do everything they can to undermine it. There’s no way to trust a party that says they are cheating as they do everything in their power to make it easier to cheat. And it only makes matters worse when they attack anyone who opposes their efforts as the true danger to free and fair elections. There’s only one party that poses a “threat to democracy,” and it’s not the Republicans.

Watch ‘Rigged‘ now to find out all the ways Democrats have spent the past two decades working to undermine the safety and security of our election.

The Daily Caller’s documentary productions are made possible by our faithful Patriots members, and we wouldn’t be able to do it without them. To watch “Rigged” — and to help support future investigative documentaries — please consider subscribing.

The Real War in Israel Hasn’t Even Started

I wish I could say that I’m surprised by the content of this article.

It is clear that Israel is in a fight for her very existence of which the war in Gaza is just a part. She stands alone. No other power is going to send its troops to help her overwhelm a determined enemy even if its apocalyptic ideology really threatens us all. The Biden government, if it can be called that, does not even have the political will to maintain law and order in America’s cities or repel a massive invasion of illegal aliens.

This chilling and sinking realization must compel Israel to kill and crush the enemy without compunction and destroy its military as a fighting force. Left undone, life in Israel will not be worth living and the rest of us will be left wondering where and when the terrorists will strike at us. Any agreements with them are worth less than the paper upon which they are written.

The Iranian regime from whence a cascading fountain of unending lethal aggression flows must be removed from power if an enduring peace is ever to be established. This must be accomplished BEFORE the grisly ayatollahs get their blood-drenched hands on a nuclear weapon. Once done, this will derange all the calculations of every terrorist organization they finance and control as well as their calcified belief that they are in possession of a celestial warrant to terrorize, subjugate and kill the rest of us simply because we do not subscribe to the preposterous tenets of Islam with all of its ferocious hatreds as convincingly demonstrated on October 7th.

Matti Friedman: What If the Real War in Israel Hasn’t Even Started?

Take the current war with Hamas and multiply it by ten. That’s what war with Hezbollah would look like. And Israelis are not asking if it will begin, but when.

By Matti Friedman, January 28, 2024

SHLOMI, Israel — The undercurrents of Israeli life at this moment are darker than I’ve ever seen them: the daily photos of smiling young people, taken at some happy moment before their deaths in combat; glimpses of Israeli girls buried alive in Palestinian tunnels, a short drive from our border and utterly out of reach; a geriatric Israeli leadership uninspiring at best, deceitful at worst; devastation in Gaza; a wall of hate in the Middle East and in growing parts of the West.

But a central part of the dread in Israel is the possibility that the real war hasn’t even started.

Since October 7, most eyes have been on Israel’s south, but as the prophecy from the Book of Jeremiah reads, “the evil will come from the north.” The north means Lebanon, a beautiful, tragic shell of a country under the sway of Hezbollah, the “Party of God,” a fanatic Shia army funded and trained by Iran. This is the northern link of the Iranian encirclement of Israel, a strategy that often escapes Western news consumers accustomed to the fiction that the conflict here is “Israeli-Palestinian.”

When I spoke to one veteran military observer of the northern front, he used the term 10X—by which he meant that to imagine an all-out war with Hezbollah, take the current war with Hamas and multiply it by ten.

The Hezbollah strike force, known as Radwan, is bigger, better trained, and better equipped than the Hamas equivalent, the Nukhba, which was responsible for the carnage of October 7. If the Palestinians have fired 9,000 rockets since the beginning of the war, Hezbollah is thought to have an arsenal of 140,000—not including drones and mortars—with all of Israel in range. The army expects more than 4,000 launches a day, a scale Israeli civilians have never experienced. While this is going on, much of Lebanon will be laid waste by our air force and artillery. “If people truly understood what the war with Hezbollah will mean,” one officer told me this week, “everyone would be doing every possible thing in their power to find a diplomatic solution.”

Hezbollah has already lost more than 170 men in cross-border fighting since October 7, compared to 15 fatalities on the Israeli side. But what Hezbollah has already achieved, even without a full-scale war, becomes clear if you drive up to the border.

There’s more, much more, go, read the whole thing.

The Most Justified Impeachment in American History

Secretary Mayorkas willfully allowing millions to invade the country is not just a “policy dispute.”

As the House Homeland Security Committee advanced articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas over an invasion of the country by millions, Democrats and some Republicans argued that it was a “policy dispute” and not impeachable.

“Political and policy disagreements aren’t impeachable offenses,” former Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff argued in a Wall Street Journal op-ed. The Journal‘s own editorial board used that same line in its own subheader opposing impeachment, arguing that, “a policy dispute doesn’t qualify as a high crime and misdemeanor.”

Democrats have been making that argument all along.

The Democrat Committee on Homeland Security put forward a 45-page statement which mentions the word “policy” 45 times, and argues that, “Impeachment is an extraordinary remedy under the United States Constitution. It is not a tool for policy or political differences.”

“This is simply a policy dispute, a disagreement about how a different party is attacking a policy problem. And the Republicans are trying to abuse their power and the Constitution to convert what is simply a disagreement into somehow some way, a high crime and misdemeanor there is no crime, much less a high crime or misdemeanor here,” Rep Dan Goldman contended.

Impeachment is not an “extraordinary remedy”, it’s just the ultimate form of congressional oversight. Presidents are not kings, they do not have unlimited power to do whatever they please, and cabinet members may be appointed by presidents, but they must be approved and serve at the pleasure of two branches of the federal government, and not just of one single man.

The same Democrats protesting that impeaching Mayorkas is an abuse of power were responsible for sending Peter Navarro, a former Trump official, to prison for refusing to testify before their partisan committee. That was and is an extraordinary abuse of power.

Mayorkas, unlike Navarro, is a sitting government official. Impeachment, as Alexander Hamilton wrote in the Federalist Papers, involves those “offenses which proceed from the misconduct of public men, or, in other words, from the abuse or violation of some public trust.

Impeachable offenses “relate chiefly to injuries done immediately to the society itself,” he wrote.

It’s hard to think of a better example than allowing millions of illegal aliens to invade the country, and doing everything possible to wilfully impede the efforts of states trying to slow that invasion.

As the internet meme goes, Homeland Security had one job. Is our homeland secure?

Entire cities have been overloaded and are groaning under the weight of an invasion that has no precedent in American history. Major cities are swarmed, police officers are being assaulted in broad daylight and stores are being cleaned out by massive mobs of illegal migrant invaders.

There were 2.5 million encounters at the border in the last fiscal year alone. And that does not count the millions more who were never ‘encountered’. The same House Committee on Homeland Security moving to impeach Secretary Mayorkas had released statistics showing that there were 269,735 encounters in just the last month of the fiscal year.

Nearly 7 million illegal alien invaders have shown up on Mayorkas’ and Biden’s watch. They include tens of thousands of gang members and criminals, hundreds of terrorists and enough fentanyl to kill every American ten times over… and those are just the ones that we caught.

Is 7 million illegal invaders a policy dispute or a war?

Biden, Mayorkas and other officials claim that they’re helpless to act and that they’re doing the best that they can, and that House Republicans can fix the problem with a “border deal.”

All of that is a lie.

The Biden administration calculatedly set out to dismantle every border security policy. It ended construction of the border wall and sued Arizona and Texas for trying to fortify their own borders.  It fought in court to end Title 42 authority by claiming that the pandemic was over even as Biden tried to justify his massive student loan bailout plan because of the pandemic. It went to court to be able to not only release illegal alien invaders into America, but to do so without court dates.

When a court blocked the release of illegal aliens without court dates, Secretary Mayorkas denounced it as a “very harmful ruling.” During the negotiations for a ‘border deal’, the Biden administration insisted that preventing it from releasing illegal aliens into the country was a ‘red line’ that it could not compromise on. That’s because releasing them is the whole point.

You can file this under “treason” or “high crimes and misdemeanors”, but it is at its most elemental, a profound breach of the public trust with massively catastrophic consequences.

It is a “policy dispute” in the same sense that announcing China can freely invade California or that anyone born before 1959 can be freely killed without fear of prosecution is a policy dispute. In theory every policy position, no matter how horrifying, is a policy dispute. Public officials should not be casually impeached over policy disagreements, they should however be impeached when their malicious actions violate their duties and cause tremendous harm.

Of all the impeachments over the years, impeaching Mayorkas may be the most justified.

Past impeachments have often been partisan exercises or like the impeachment of Judge Alcee Hastings for bribery (who then became a long serving Democrat congressman) a matter of personal corruption where the overall public harm was either intangible or negligible.

The impeachment of Secretary Mayorkas is not a matter of personal misconduct. There is no evidence that he is stealing, conducting an affair, taking or soliciting bribes or corrupting the government for his own personal agendas. His only actual crime is following orders.

And that’s the only argument against impeaching Mayorkas. He’s not acting on his own.

Enabling the mass invasion of the United States is not the action of one man, but of an administration, which has used every federal agency at its disposal, including the EPA, to enable that invasion, which has dispensed a fortune to the invaders to encourage them to invade, and another fortune to the refugee resettlers to make sure that they never leave.

And it’s not just the policy of one man or one administration, but of a party that has spent decades conniving, scheming and maneuvering, since the Kennedy administration, to fundamentally transform immigration law in order to shift the national demographics and the political culture through laws, UN treaties, economic incentives and the neglect of existing laws.

Elected officials can advocate for laws, no matter how destructive, and they can even lie about the consequences of those laws, as JFK and Ted Kennedy did about the shift toward third world immigration, as LBJ did about the disastrous UN refugee treaty that is at the heart of our asylum problem today, and as Senate Democrats did about their amnesty in 1986. But that amnesty, part of another in a series of “border deals” became part of the trend of not only advocating, but ignoring and refusing to enforce immigration laws. And then creating anti-immigration laws, such as sanctuary cities and states, and a federal crackdown on state immigration enforcement.

Beyond a refusal to enforce laws, Obama initiated a unilateral amnesty for some illegal aliens as part of what was deemed “selective enforcement” and “discretion”. That already illegal policy evolved under Biden into virtually no enforcement for anyone except the worst of the worst.

Elected officials and appointees have certain responsibilities, regardless of their partisan agendas, and there are consequences for failing to uphold them. As a partisan political appointee, Secretary Mayorkas would inevitably work toward open borders, as has every Democrat before him, but that did not change his responsibility to his official duties.

Overseeing and implementing an invasion is incompatible with those duties.

Elected officials can have policy disputes, but appointed officials are managing the machinery of the state which must continue to run despite their partisan leanings. An anti-war secretary of defense cannot simply drive all the tanks into the ocean and announce that the United States will no longer defend itself against enemy invasions. And, contrariwise, a conservative EPA head cannot reject the concept of pollution and refuse to fulfill the responsibilities of his office.

That is what Secretary Mayorkas has done. He was following orders, but that’s no excuse. Cabinet members may be chosen by presidents, but they answer to two branches of the government. That second branch of the government is preparing to impeach Mayorkas for actions that have wrecked entire cities, trashed much of the country and cost countless lives.

No one died because of anything that Clinton or Trump faced impeachment for, but people have died in sizable numbers because of the action and inaction of Secretary Mayorkas and Biden. The murders, fentanyl overdoses and diseases spreading across the nation are a crime. They are a high crime whose origin lies with the policies of Mayorkas and the Biden administration.

If a political official willfully refusing to do his duty leading to an invasion of millions and the deaths of over a hundred people doesn’t justify impeachment, what possibly does?

The Great Sham of the United Nations

At long last, can America finally get out of the United Nations?

There is credible evidence that at least 12 staffers of the U.N.’s Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) were involved with the Hamas attacks of October 7 in which 1,200 Israelis were murdered. “One is accused of kidnapping a woman,” report journalists Ronen Bergman and Patrick Kingsley. “Another is said to have handed out ammunition. A third was described as taking part in the massacre at a kibbutz where 97 people died.”

And on Monday, Israel’s intelligence system released documents showing that “some 190 UNRWA employees, including teachers, have doubled as Hamas or Islamic Jihad militants.” Israel says that Hamas “methodically and deliberately deploy[s] its terrorist infrastructure in a wide range of U.N. facilities and assets,” and that about 1,300 UNRWA workers have some affiliation with terrorist organizations.

These are only the latest instances of how the U.N. has failed in its mission to promote peace and foster international justice. The catalog of the organization’s corruption, incompetence, and wasteful spending is too long even to begin here. Just consider one especially galling example: The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). UNFPA denies it uses its funds to promote abortion, but the (massive) evidence shows otherwise. Alliance Defending Freedom’s Elyssa Koren notes that “Western countries use the UN and its agencies to export abortion policy worldwide, primarily in countries where the practice is illegal or heavily restricted.” Koren says that from 2022 through 2025, UNFPA claims it has stopped (or will stop) a total of five million “unsafe abortions,” which means “these abortions were ‘safely’ provided by [UNFPA’s] partners, such as International Planned Parenthood.”

There currently are 193 member countries in the U.N. Only a handful are nations where their citizens actually rule themselves through elected representatives. And the U.S. often bears the brunt of the U.N.’s phony outrage, even though it is an organization populated largely by dictatorships, oppressive regimes, and nations unable to sustain order and peace within their own borders. These countries lack any moral right to assail the United States, whose generosity and commitment to human dignity make these other nations’ fake indignation repulsive.

Anti-Israel sentiment is entrenched in the U.N. As Jonathan Schanzer of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies said in recent congressional testimony: In the U.N., “the world’s leading human rights abusers emerge as leaders on human rights … the prevention or cessation of conflict only seems to matter when Israel tries to defend itself from terrorist attacks.” In 2022, for example, there were 15 U.N. resolutions attacking Israel, but not one concerning such oppressive states as China, Cuba, or Saudi Arabia.

In 2022, the United States provided the organization with $18.1 billion, roughly one-third of the total U.N. budget. The Heritage Foundation says this accounts for more than the contributions of 185 other member states combined. Yet in 2022, the U.S. was condemned by the U.N. for, of all things, our embargo against the cruel Marxist regime in Cuba.

The great irony is that while the U.N. needs the U.S., the United States needs the U.N. like a jagged pebble in a shoe. We have economic relationships of all kinds with nations large and small. NATO, ANZUS (Australia, New Zealand, and the U.S.), and the recent American-Japanese-South Korean security pacts operate well apart from the U.N. Our charitable organizations outnumber both in scope and financial aid those of virtually every other country put together.

In the U.N., resentment toward American power and hostility toward such friends as Israel and Taiwan grow each year. Many of the most vile regimes operating under the U.N. umbrella are America’s fiercest critics. At what point will enough be enough? Why continue in an organization the hypocrisy of which shines like decaying fish in the sun?

America needs robust diplomatic relations with the developing world, if for no other reason that China and Russia and their surrogates will woo emerging nations into their deceptively warm but ultimately brutal embraces otherwise. We don’t need the U.N. for any assistance in dealing with the global south.

American withdrawal from the United Nations is not about peevishness or indifference to vital international affairs. It’s about our self-respect as a republic. We can hope we still retain enough of that quality finally to retire from an organization that brings little more than loathing, rage, and moral squalor to our very shores.

Prosecution of Pro-Lifers Continues under Biden’s DOJ, with 6 More Convictions

On Tuesday, a guilty verdict was announced for six pro-life activists for violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act at an abortion facility near Nashville, Tenn. The Biden administration’s Justice Department brought the charges, which stemmed from a peaceful protest on March 5, 2021, in which a group of pro-lifers prayed and sang hymns at the entrance to the Carafem Health Center Clinic.

Video of the protest shows a group of approximately 20-30 pro-life activists peacefully praying and singing hymns while standing and sitting along the walls of a hallway leading to the door of the abortion facility, with a small segment of the group sitting directly in front of the facility’s entrance. Roughly two hours into the vigil, a number of protestors were arrested for blocking the entrance without incident.

In October 2022, the Biden administration’s Department of Justice (DOJ) announced that it was charging 11 individuals involved in the protest with violating the federal FACE Act, which bars individuals from physically blocking the entrance to an abortion facility. Six of the defendants were eventually convicted on Tuesday, with each facing “up to a maximum of 10 and a half years in prison, three years of supervised release and fines of up to $260,000,” with sentencing set for July 2. Four other defendants are scheduled to stand trial for misdemeanor violations of the FACE Act.

The Thomas More Society, which is representing the defendants, is expected to appeal the convictions.

The DOJ’s FACE Act prosecutions are the latest in a series of legal actions directed at pro-life activists under the Biden administration, in which at least 24 cases have been prosecuted since January 2021. At the same time, there have only been four FACE Act indictments of pro-abortion individuals related to a single attack on a pregnancy resource center in Florida, despite the fact that there have been hundreds of attacks that have occurred against churches and pregnancy resource centers during Biden’s tenure.

As noted by Family Research Council’s Arielle Del Turco during a House Judiciary Committee hearing last year, the FACE Act was originally designed to protect abortion facilities, pregnancy resource centers, and places of worship. The types of attacks committed against churches have included “vandalism, arson, bomb threats, gun-related incidents, and interruption of worship services — all of which are punishable under the FACE Act,” she emphasized.

The disparity in prosecutions has led to Congress taking notice. In October, Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah) and Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) introduced a bill to repeal the FACE Act, citing the biased enforcement that is being carried out by the Biden administration. “We need to repeal it and then stop giving authority to the Department of Justice to be able to go after [pro-life] people,” he told Tony Perkins in September.

In comments to The Washington Stand, Mary Szoch, director of the Center for Human Dignity at Family Research Council, questioned the priorities of the Biden administration’s DOJ in targeting pro-lifers amid a spiraling border crisis and the spreading conflict in the Middle East.

“As countless little boys and girls are being trafficked across the border and wars wage across the world, the Biden administration thinks the most important thing to focus on is prosecuting peaceful protestors attempting to save unborn babies from a brutal death,” she pointed out. “Yes, these protestors violated the FACE Act, but the Biden administration should consider spending taxpayer dollars to protect America’s border — not to stop non-violent men and women who are simply singing hymns while defending the unborn.”

Do The Iranians Already Have Nukes?

The most critical question to ask in the world of intelligence is “Why?”.

Iran is in a confrontation with U.S. forces in the Middle East. Three U.S. servicemen in Jordan were just killed in a missile attack staged by Iranian surrogates. At least 34 others were wounded, and eight were evacuated in critical condition. Iranian media is now making a big deal of playing up the recent night-time launch of a satellite launch vehicle and the placement of three indigenously designed satellites in orbit.

Why?

Why is Iran continuing to push the envelope with escalating attacks on U.S. forces?

Why do they seem unconcerned about provoking the United States?

Why is the launch of a handful of satellites something so important and something that had to happen right now?

Is it possible the “launch vehicle” in question has another purpose?

The satellites Iran says it placed in orbit were launched on a Simorgh rocket. U.S. intelligence has pointed out for years that this missile could potentially be aimed at improving and enhancing Iran’s ballistic missile capability. This launch may, therefore, have nothing really to do with the peaceful use of space and be part of an effort to develop true intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs).

But, here’s the real kicker. An ICBM carrying a conventional warhead is close to useless. It would be a very expensive, incredibly complex way of delivering what in the end would be the equivalent of a single bomb. It might kill a limited number of people. It might severely damage multiple buildings. It would not be capable of doing much more than that.

The only rational strategic military use of an ICBM is to deliver a nuclear warhead.

What then might the sudden rush to push the development of the Simorgh missile tell us about where Iran stands on its nuclear program? Might it be strong evidence that the Iranians, in fact, already have nuclear weapons and are now finalizing the work necessary to be able to deliver those weapons to their targets?

That, unfortunately, is entirely possible.

Experts have been warning for some time that Iran has already passed the point of no return. They must now be considered to be a nuclear threshold state, and we must recognize that we no longer have the ability to prevent them from acquiring nuclear weapons.

The International Atomic Energy Authority (IAEA) has warned recently that Iran has ramped up its production of the highly enriched uranium needed to make atomic bombs.

David Albright, a former UN weapons inspector in Iraq, has gone further. He has warned that Iran could produce enough highly enriched uranium for 12 atomic bombs in a matter of months and already has the technical knowledge necessary to build nuclear weapons.

The head of the IAEA is also on record as having stated the obvious.

“There’s no other country other than those making nuclear weapons reaching those high levels” of uranium enrichment, Rafael Mariano Grossi said of Iran. “I’ve said many times that this doesn’t mean that Iran has a nuclear weapon. But it does mean that this level of enrichment is one that requires an intense verification effort.”

That was in 2021, and the implication was clear. No matter what the Iranians say, they are clearly developing nuclear weapons and intend to acquire them. The only question is when they will cross the line.

Step back for a moment and consider the events unfolding in the Middle East and add in for the sake of argument the assumption that the Iranians have nuclear weapons and are finalizing the details of how to deliver them. Does what you are seeing make more sense now? Rogue states all over the world have long since assimilated the implications of North Korea’s decision to acquire nuclear weapons. It means that the United States cannot even contemplate direct military action against Pyongyang for fear of a nuclear exchange. Even setting aside the possibility that the North Koreans may be able to hit the United States the devastation that North Korea could inflict on U.S. allies like South Korea and Japan is sobering. Washington dare not act toward Kim Jong Un as it did against Saddam and Qaddafi.

Now think about the aggressive nature of the actions of Iranian surrogates, the continued Houthi attacks in the Red Sea, and the calls by various Iranian officials for attacks inside the United States. Is what you are seeing simply a reflection of the weakness and compromise of the Biden administration or is something else afoot? Might we be inching closer to the day that the Iranians will announce they are in possession of a nuclear arsenal, they have the necessary delivery capability, and any actions against them will cross a “red line” and necessitate strikes on Tel Aviv, Riyadh and other key targets in the Middle East?

Watch the video of the recent “satellite” launch. Ask yourself “Why”.  Ponder this question. Do the Iranians already have nucs?

‘Dems Want to Give Up U.S. Sovereignty’ to ‘New World Order’: Senator on WHO Treaty

The Democratic Party in general, and the Biden administration in particular, are eager to hand global governance institutions more influence over U.S. health policy, said the prime opponent of a new pandemic agreement.

The Biden administration has signaled its intention to adopt the World Health Organization’s (WHO) new accord on responding to global health pandemics such as COVID-19 or “Disease X.” The WHO Pandemic Agreement demands the U.S. turn over one-fifth of all vaccines and protective health equipment to WHO for redistribution, adopts a controversial “One Health” policy that makes human health no more important than animals or the environment, and encourages national governments to combat “misinformation” online. The WHO originally described the agreement as a “legally binding treaty” in December 2022 but changed its formal title to an “agreement” after the Biden administration realized it could not win Senate ratification, as the Constitution requires for an international treaty.

The Biden administration’s willingness to sidestep Congress on the WHO agreement — as it has on student loan “forgiveness,” an eviction moratorium, and other issues — troubles Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), who introduced the No WHO Pandemic Preparedness Treaty Without Senate Approval Act. But the bill is “not getting much traction here in Congress,” Johnson told “Washington Watch with Tony Perkins” on January 25, because the international accord has become “a partisan issue.”

“Every Republican except for the bill’s sponsor voted for my amendment, which would have deemed” the WHO agreement, which would give WHO greater authority over all Americans during deadly outbreaks, “a treaty subject to ratification in the Senate. And every Democrat voted against it,” said Johnson. “So, Democrats apparently want to give up U.S. sovereignty.”

Pro-life and pro-family advocates should be most concerned about expanding the WHO’s reach, power, and prestige, as it moves to polarize global health policy in favor of abortion, homosexuality, and transgenderism, say its opponents. At last month’s board meeting, WHO announced it may strike a partnership with the Center for Reproductive Rights (CRR), a well-funded pro-abortion lobbying group that pressures governments to enact lax abortion laws.

CRR is “one of the most nefarious, aggressively pro-abortion groups on the face of the Earth,” Rep. Chris Smith (R-N.J.) told Perkins earlier in the same show. That stems, in part, from its secretary-general, Tedros Ghebreyesus, who won his post with China’s endorsement. “I’ve known him for 30 years. He used to tell me how pro-life he was. He is absolutely pro-abortion.”

Smith, the co-chair of the Congressional Pro-Life Caucus, and his wife have tracked the influence CRR and WHO have had on global abortion policy for decades. Two decades ago, Smith entered into the Congressional Record “a document put out by the World Health Organization, and it’s all about the model legislation that they want for every country,” he said. WHO wants “no gestational limits, just like Biden is doing,” establishing a right to “abortion until birth.” WHO and the Democrats also believe pro-life physicians, who object to participating in abortions due to religious or moral reasons, should have “no ability to say no, no right of conscience. They say that is a barrier to access to abortion.”

Democrats and global WHO bureaucrats also oppose mandatory waiting periods, which have been shown to reduce the abortion rate and increase the number of babies born alive. “Very often when there’s a parental notification, or a waiting period, or some other small-but-necessary protection, women rethink it and they come to a different conclusion,” Smith told Perkins. “They want none of that.”

WHO is also scheduled to roll out a global health guidance instructing physicians how to respond to adults who identify as transgender — and stacked the group writing the guideline with radical transgender activists, most of whom have no medical background. One proposed member of the Guideline Development Group (GDG) previously took part in a global LGBT health symposium that “emphasised the need to provide [an] uninterrupted supply of … medical [hormone therapy] and gender-affirmative surgeries for trans people.” The minority of GDG members who have medical backgrounds often carry out, and financially benefit from, transgender procedures, creating a blatant conflict of interest.

WHO’s emphasis on climate change, and its lowering human health to the level of ecosystems, should also give Americans pause, said Johnson. President Dwight D. “Eisenhower, in his farewell address, warned us about four things,” he noted. “The final thing he talked about [was how] we cannot let global society fall into a state of ‘dreadful fear and hate.’” But both have been inflamed by extreme COVID-19 lockdown advocates and Green activists who perpetually flog the threat of “catastrophic climate emergency” while demonizing their opponents, he said. “This is what tyrants do. They control people. They take away your freedom based on a state of fear.”

Johnson said the end game of those promoting the WHO Pandemic Agreement and other destructive policies is “the New World Order, total control, a borderless world. That’s part of the strategy behind an open border here in America.”

He quoted a video produced by the World Economic Forum, “‘You’ll own nothing, and you’ll be happy.’ That’s basically their rallying cry. It’s sick. It’s frightening.”

“There are a lot of people,” warned Johnson, “in leadership positions who want to take your freedom away.”

He hoped other nations would recognize “that their national sovereignty, their health freedom may be taken away from them in this very dangerous negotiation.”

Report Catalogues Dozens of New Incidents of Persecution against Christians in the West

Religious persecution against Christians in the Western world is rising at an alarming rate, according to a new report from Family Research Council’s Center for Religious Liberty.

In the 2024 edition of “Free to Believe? The Intensifying Intolerance Toward Christians in The West,” the Center for Religious Liberty identified 168 incidents of anti-Christian hatred or discrimination from January 2020 to the end of 2023, including 33 incidents last year alone. Although 2020 (61) and 2021 (49) saw the most incidents of persecution against Christians, the majority were related to COVID-19 lockdown violations, but the report notes an increase in intolerance toward public and even private expression of biblical worldviews in the West.

The report states, “As the mainstream culture moves further and further away from a Christian worldview, Christian beliefs that contradict progressive secular values are increasingly denounced by the culture and wrongly portrayed as being hateful or bigoted.” It adds, “The past three years each having fewer incidents than 2020 does not necessarily indicate an overall decline in intolerance toward Christians. … Although FRC identified fewer incidents related to COVID-19 after 2020, incidents that we identified of Christians facing discrimination for their biblically informed beliefs increased.”

“This report is a warning call,” wrote FRC President Tony Perkins in a letter attached to the report. “It is shocking to see Western countries — the same ones we think of as free and open societies — take authoritarian measures against Christians simply trying to live out their faith. Hostility toward Bible-believing Christians is clearly and steadily rising in the West.” Perkins, former commissioner of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, added, “Religious freedom is the foundation for the human rights that Western democracies seek to promote abroad. Yet, the ability to promote this fundamental human right will be lost if we do not protect it within our borders.”

In comments to The Washington Stand, Center for Religious Liberty Director Arielle Del Turco said, “We remain clear-eyed about religious freedom conditions in Western democracies. It’s easy to take our rights for granted, but we are seeing governments across the West target Christians to be silenced, restricted, or fined for living out their faith or expressing their religious beliefs.” She continued, “Often, the pressure point revolves around Christians’ ability to speak about doctrine that contradicts mainstream secular orthodoxy on issues such as abortion, transgenderism, or same-sex marriage.”

Although the report is “far from exhaustive,” some of the 2023 incidents in the U.S. include:

  • An Ohio pastor being fined for allowing homeless to sleep in his church;
  • A Texas church being charged excessive fees by a county utility company and seeing those fees doubled after the church noted its tax-exempt status;
  • The Oklahoma attorney general suing a virtual school board for approving a publicly-funded Catholic charter school;
  • An Oregon couple being denied a foster care license due to their biblical views on sex and gender;
  • A California library cancelling a Moms for Liberty event when a speaker expressed biblical views on gender and biology;
  • A Georgia church being threatened with fines for hosting a car show as a form of community outreach;
  • A Christian school in Colorado being denied a religious exemption from a pro-LGBT state discrimination law;
  • An Oregon church being threatened with fines for providing free meals to the homeless;
  • A school counselor in Indiana being fired for speaking out against her school district’s preferred pronoun policy;
  • A Vermont Christian school being barred from a state tuition program for upholding biblical values on sex and gender;
  • A Christian high school coach (also in Vermont) being fired for saying that there’s a biological difference between men and women;
  • An Arizona elementary school district ending a teaching partnership with Arizona Christian University;
  • A California teacher being fired for refusing to comply with a policy hiding students’ gender transitions from parents; and
  • A Colorado cake shop owner being sued for refusing to make cakes celebrating gender transitions, Satanism, or marijuana use.

In the United Kingdom, two town councilors were penalized (one was even arrested) for speaking out against a local Pride parade, a school chaplain was fired for telling students they don’t “have to accept the ideas of LGBT activists,” and at least six people were arrested or fined for praying outside abortion facilities or holding pro-life signs.

In Canada, a pastor was arrested twice for praying outside a library drag queen story hour, a church was fined for hosting in-person services in 2020, and a teen at a Catholic school was arrested for organizing a protest against biological men using women’s bathrooms. A Christian hybrid school was shut down in Germany, a Maltese health care worker was charged with a crime for sharing in an interview how he left the homosexual lifestyle, a Norwegian city denied Christian organizations community grant funding due to their biblical views on sex and gender, a woman was arrested in Spain for praying the rosary, and a Swedish bakery was investigated for refusing to bake a same-sex wedding cake.

Perkins noted, “This report is merely a sampling of the rise of actions by Western governmental officials that target Christians’ ability to practice and express their faith, especially in the public square.” He explained that the report “is a call to individuals to vigorously exercise their religious freedom while at the same time calling upon government officials to recognize and prioritize the protection of this fundamental human right so that religious freedom can continue to be promoted around the world.”

Whistleblowers Allege ATF Is Drafting Rule That Could Effectively Ban Private Firearm Sales

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is working on a rule that could effectively ban the sale of firearms between private individuals, agency whistleblowers told a watchdog group.

Empower Oversight, a nonpartisan watchdog representing one of the Hunter Biden Internal Revenue Service whistleblowers, says that ATF whistleblowers informed it of a 1,300-page document being drafted by the agency that would require background checks for all firearm sales, including those between two private individuals. The new rule would “effectively ban private sales of firearms from one citizen to another,” according to a press release from Empower Oversight.

Empower Oversight submitted a records request to the Department of Justice seeking more information about the rule.

The rule would “violate the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution,” according to Empower Oversight President Tristan Leavitt. Leavitt also said the rule would “circumvent the separation of powers in the Constitution.”

Empower Oversight points out that the ATF’s rule could redefine individuals who occasionally sell guns as being “engaged in the business of dealing in firearms,” thus requiring them to acquire a Federal Firearms Licensee and run background checks on whoever they’re selling to.

In the Firearms Owners Protection Act of 1986, Congress established that the term “engaged in the business” of selling guns “shall not include a person who makes occasional sales, exchanges, or purchases of firearms for the enhancement of a personal collection or for a hobby.”

Leavitt pointed out that the courts would likely strike down the rule and argued that it is likely a ploy to fire up the Democratic base during an election year.

Private background checks are popular with voters, according to polling data.

A poll conducted by Morning Consult and Politico in 2022 found that 81% of registered voters supported background checks at gun shows and for private transfers.

Support for background checks is lower among Republicans than among Democrats. A 2021 Morning Consult and Politico poll found that 77% of Democrats supported background checks for all gun purchases, compared to just 53% of Republicans.

While Americans are open to background checks, banning certain kinds of firearms is unpopular among Americans.

Only 27% of Americans supported banning handgun ownership as of October 2023, according to Gallup. An April 2023 poll conducted by Monmouth University found that more Americans opposed an “assault weapons” ban than supported it.

The Biden administration has consistently pushed for stricter gun laws.

President Joe Biden pushed a rule that forced people who owned pistols with arm braces to register them as short-barreled rifles, Politico reported. Pistol braces remain legal as states and gun rights groups sue the ATF over the rule.

Registering a short-barreled rifle with the ATF carries a cost of $200. The National Firearms Act, the law requiring the registration of short-barreled rifles, was last updated in 1986.

Short-barreled rifles are illegal in some states.

Biden also banned the sale of firearm parts lacking serial numbers, which can be used to construct “ghost guns,” and has continuously pushed for a so-called assault weapons ban, according to Fox News Digital.

Some gun rights groups are ready to fight the ATF’s rule should it come to fruition.

“The records of these sales will eventually end up in the ATF’s firearm registry database,” director of federal affairs for Gun Owners of America (GOA) Aidan Johnston told the Daily Caller News Foundation. The ATF maintains a registry of firearms sales, the Washington Free Beacon reported.

Johnston said GOA is “actively preparing to take legal action if and when Joe Biden’s administration releases their rule change.”

Empower Oversight and the ATF did not immediately respond to the DCNF’s requests for comment.

Capitol Police Won’t Bring Charges After Two Men Recorded Themselves Having Sex In Senate Office Building

The U.S. Capitol police announced Thursday that they will not be bringing charges against the two men who recorded themselves having anal sex in the Hart Senate hearing room.

“For now, we are closing the investigation into the facts and circumstances surrounding a sex video that was recorded inside the Hart Senate Office Building on the morning of Wednesday, December 13. After consulting with federal and local prosecutors, as well as doing a comprehensive investigation and review of possible charges, it was determined that – despite a likely violation of Congressional policy – there is currently no evidence that a crime was committed,” U.S. Capitol Police said in a statement.

“Although the hearing room was not open to the public at the time, the Congressional staffer involved had access to the room. The two people of interest were not cooperative, nor were the elements of any of the possible crimes met. The Congressional staffer, who has since resigned from his job, exercised his Fifth Amendment right to remain silent and refused to talk to us. Our investigators are willing to review new evidence should any come to light,” the police continued.

DAILY CALLER OBTAINED – EXCLUSIVE: Dem Senate Staffer Caught Filming Sex Tape In Senate Hearing Room

The Daily Caller first obtained leaked amateur pornography showing a congressional staffer having anal sex with an unknown man in the Senate hearing room. The alleged staffer can also be seen in a photo, naked on all fours, looking back at the camera on the table where senators often sit to ask questions during a hearing.

A source identified the room to the Daily Caller as Senate room Hart 216, the Judiciary Room.

The Daily Caller reviewed the chat where the video leaked and confirmed it was shared in a private group for gay men in politics.
