J6 Committee Admits Its Show Trials Were An Election-Year Publicity Stunt

Key members of the since-disbanded Select Committee on January 6th admit in a new PBS documentary that the entire operation was an election-year publicity stunt.

On Wednesday, Frontline PBS published a new documentary, “Democracy on Trial,” chronicling the House committee’s work. Pivotal players on the partisan probe conceded in the two-and-half-hour documentary that the panel’s public performances produced for prime-time television were orchestrated as entertainment media.

“The one thing that we knew was the information that we have is compelling,” said Illinois congressman-turned CNN commentator Adam Kinzinger. “The thing we needed to do was tell that to the American people in a compelling way.”

The Jan. 6 Committee turned to former ABC News President James Goldston to produce their hearings that occurred just months before the 2022 midterms. The panel also hired another producer whose résumé included stints at Bloomberg, ABC News “Nightline,” and “Good Morning America.”

“I got a call pretty much out of the blue from the January 6th committee,” Goldson told the documentary. “They wanted a storyteller.”

“While they were brilliant lawyers,” Goldston added, “storytelling for a mass audience is not what they do.”

“To bring in a guy like this who would think outside the box really did prove to be fruitful,” Robert Draper of New York Times Magazine tells the PBS documentarians. “It was Goldston who really began to envision this as in a way a kind of miniseries that there would be sort of nine episodes and that these episodes would tackle particular themes.”

Trump wants the RNC Chair Fired … What We Need is a New Congress!

I have no doubt that former President Donald Trump thinks that Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, who is the niece of Socialist Republican In Name Only (RINO) Mitt Romney, needs to be fired.

In my personal opinion its not her fault that the RNC has had its lowest fundraising year in about ten years but the buck stops with her.

The fault sits squarely on the weak spineless Republican congress UniParty working hand in hand with the Communist Democrats trying to dismantle our Republic.

The conservative base of our country can no longer support a political party that has zero leadership and which no longer represents the core constitutional values of our nation.

The GOP have refused to submit a balanced budget, they will not impeach the criminal Marxist Joe Biden and they will not protect our borders.

The GOP have more excuses than a high school kid turning in his failed report card to mom.

The Republicans could easily block the weaponized judicial federal enemy of “We the people” by defunding the Biden Communist machine.

The GOP could do so much more to protect the fiscal security of our country. But they don’t.

Thus the RNC is having an extremely difficult job raising money. It’s down to a pitiful $8 million in cash.

Trump will be the Republican Party nominee for President by March of 2024 in my estimate and thus by virtue of this political win he becomes head of the GOP.

Trump though is actually an independent capitalist entrepreneur and not so much a Republican, but he’s stuck within this useless two party system.

The RNC needs a new leader but more importantly we need a new Republican congress with a backbone and a mindset of pure constitutional governance.

We currently don’t have that with the exception of a few patriots like Matt Gaetz (R-Fl) and perhaps only a dozen more.

Trump wants new leadership at the RNC as per his statement to Fox News.

“You have to understand, I have nothing to do with the RNC, I’m separate,” Trump told host Fox News Maria Bartiromo.

He also stated “ I would say right now there will probably be some changes made,”

But ultimately in my own opinion we only need new Republican congressional leadership that follows constitutional governance and who follows the will of the majority of Americans in our republic.

The head of the RNC is not the problem even if she is related to Socialist Republican in Name Only Mitt Romney.

The real problem is the Speaker of the House and thus the collateral damage falls on the RNC by losing its financial support primarily for the transgressions of the weak do nothing Republicans led Congress.

HAWAII: Long Lines Suppressed Republican Votes during the 2020 and 2022 Elections. The Honolulu City Clerk Plans to Do It Again in 2024

Election Day 2020 and 2022 were marred by long lines around Honolulu Hale and Kapiolani Hale forcing voters to wait hours to cast their ballot.

The Honolulu City Clerks’ plan for 2024?  A repeat performance.

Responding to an inquiry from HawaiiFreePress.com, the office of Honolulu City Clerk Glen I. Takahashi explains:

“Kapolei Hale and Honolulu Hale will continue to serve as Voter Service Centers in the 2024 Elections. The City also plans to establish ‘pop up’ voter service centers in Windward and Central Oʻahu during the 10-day in-person voting periods.“

The Clerk then implies his function is to suppress Election Day and Primary Day voting:

“To avoid long lines, we encourage voters to vote by mail. If in-person voter services are required, we encourage voters not to wait until the last day of voting.”

Hawaii Republican walk-in voters in 2022 outnumbered Democrats 2-1.

Democracy requires an election system that respects the voting rights of all citizens.  By placing behavior modification over voter participation, the Clerk is feeding Republican ‘election denier’ conspiracy theories.

After the November, 2020 Elections, Civil Beat reported: “…about 8,000 people showed up Tuesday, overwhelming the voter centers at city halls in Downtown Honolulu and Kapolei.”

“There were seeds sown of distrust,” said Sandy Ma, citing concerns with the postal system cuts that were floated earlier this year. “So it was foreseeable that people wanted to vote in person. There should have been more in-person places opened up.”…

Other mail voting states, like Colorado and Utah, tend to apportion one voter center for every 30,000 to 70,000 voters, according to an analysis from the Vote at Home Institute, which advocates for the adoption of mail voting laws.

Long lines weren’t the only obstacle for Election Day voters.

On Oahu, only two ‘Voter Service Centers’ were open on Election Day and Primary Day to ‘serve’ a population of nearly one million.  Voters from Laie made a 70-mile roundtrip to reach Kapolei Hale or Honolulu Hale.

On Kauai, the only Voter Service Center was in Lihue, requiring a 65-mile roundtrip for voters from Waimea or Hanalei.

On Maui, the only Voter Service Center was in Wailuku, necessitating a five-hour roundtrip from Hana.

On the Big Island, the only Voter Service Centers were in Hilo and Kailua-Kona.  Voters from Hawi or Naalehu faced a four-hour round trip to vote.

All of these Voter Service Centers were located in centers of public employment, effectively boosting union voters’ turnout.  The further from the seat of government, the harder to cast a ballot on Election Day.

Hawaii has no party-line voter registration.  The only measure of party preference comes in Primary Election ballot selection—and the distinction between mail-in and walk-in voters (including those who walk-in voted before Primary Day) is stark.

In the 2020 Primary, among walk-in Primary voters, the ratio of Republicans to Democrats was 79.4%.

In 2022 — after Trump was ‘robbed’ —  it was 210.64% — better than 2-1.

Desperately looking for proof that Trump was robbed in 2020, Hawaii Trumpsters have filed suit after suit –mostly without benefit of counsel– picking at secondary, tertiary and even imaginary flaws in Hawaii’s voting system.   Many of these suits were ghost-written by ‘Klean House Hawaii’—a group which has also repeatedly sued for the removal of the Republican Party from the Hawaii election ballot.  It should not be surprising that all of these suits have been quickly and easily dismissed by the Courts—but the baked-in ingredients of KHH failure feed conspiracy thinking.

The Republican House Caucus is pushing five ‘Election Integrity’ bills: HB1750, HB1751, HB1752, HB1753, and HB1754.

The suits and bills mostly challenge procedures of marginal significance such as voter signature verification or the use of photo images instead of paper ballots to conduct the two legally required post-election precinct audits.

Tellingly, none of the bills and only one of the lawsuits—BJ Penn’s unsuccessful August, 2022 election suit– challenge the obvious and glaring primary example of voter suppression in Hawaii—the hours-long lines and the hours-long drives  in 2020 and 2022 caused by the lack of Election Day polling places statewide.

Meanwhile at least one 2022 Republican legislative candidate—Samantha Decorte in SD22 Waianae–really may have been robbed.  Five primary candidates—including SD35 Democrat Nathan Takeuchi–may also have lost due to Primary Day voter suppression in 2020 and 2022.

Here are the numbers.

The ration of walk-in to mail-in voters in 2020 was 4.958% — almost exactly 5%.

In 2022, with far longer lines, the ratio dropped to 3.979% — almost exactly 4%–a 20% loss.

Were walk-in voters suppressed 20% more by the much longer lines in 2022?

Maile Shimabukuro ‘defeated’ Samantha Decorte by 40 votes in the 2022 race for Senate District 22.  But walk-in voters favored Decorte 571 to 99.  If 20% more walk-in votes had been received, Decorte would have won by 54.

The 20% figure accounts only for the relative effect of 2022’s long lines as compared with 2020.  It does not measure the effect of the long driving distances required for Election Day voter participation.

2020 and 2022 Primary races potentially affected by the suppression of Primary Day voters include:

  • 2020:  HD13 Decoite vs Ritte Democratic Primary—decided by 96 votes.  This margin is larger than others, but it is a two-fer.  Decoite was helped by the presence of a Primary Day Voter Service Center on Molokai where Ritte is hated.  Ritte, on the other hand, was hindered by the absence of any Voter Service Center on Primary Day in his Upcountry Maui haole wokester support base.  After winning the House seat, Decoite was subsequently appointed State Senator.
  • 2022: SD35 Chun vs Takeuchi Democratic Primary – decided by eight votes.  Cory Chun is now a State Senator.
  • 2022: SD24 Fernandez vs Lam Republican Primary – decided by 39 votes.
  • 2022: HD11 Cantere vs Halperin Republican Primary—decided by 17 votes.
  • 2022: HD45 Wilbur vs Oquendo Republican Primary—decided by five votes.

It might be easy to ignore the suppression of voters whose leaders are in on it, but democracy relies on the perception of electoral legitimacy.  If a section of the electorate believes the elections are fraudulent, then democracy itself loses legitimacy.

Daily Caller’s ‘Rigged’ Reveals Single Most Important Thing GOP Can Do To Stop Dems From Stealing Elections

We diagnose the mistakes of 2020 — where and how Republicans failed to counteract the Democrats’ schemes — to ensure the same dirty tricks won’t work in 2024.

The primary lesson from 2020 is that Republicans must be proactive. They can no longer sit idly by and trust the system will deliver on its promise of fairness and accountability. Democrats have spent years ensuring the system does not function as it should, with armies of lawyers and activists working to ensure the process is rigged to their benefit. Republicans must be equally shrewd if they are to swing the election law pendulum back to the middle.

“Rigged” shows how Republicans have closed some of the loopholes Democrats weaponized in 2020 — but there is still so much more work to be done.

“In 2020, I served as legal counsel to the Trump campaign,” explains attorney John Findlay in “Rigged,” “and one of my main responsibilities was running the president’s election day war room. I was in charge of placing lawyers in all of our battleground states … where we would do intake from those lawyers out in the field on those issues that were being reported in real time.”

Findlay details a host of abuses that surely had our Founding Fathers rolling in their graves. Rogue election officials around the country often changed procedures by fiat in the midst of the election. Bipartisan observers were kept out of the process. Rules were waived on deadline requirements, ballot curing procedures and how absentee ballots were to be counted. In the 25 critical states Findlay oversaw, there was “a lot of confusion” on the ground.

But the chaos was all part of the plan. By the time Republicans caught on, it was too late.

“If you go to challenge those ballots or inquire about those ballots, and the results show that it’s different than the race has been called, it looks like you’re overturning an election. It creates a presumption for the person that has been called to be the winner at that time, and you have to overcome that presumption,” Findlay explains.

This is the main reason Republican legal challenges never got off the ground. “Well, folks always say, court actions were filed and nothing happened with them,” explains Hans von Spakovsky, head of the Heritage Foundation’s Election Law Reform Initiative, “but that’s because all the court actions were dismissed by judges on procedural grounds.”

No one bothered “determining the credibility of the witnesses and the claims — they didn’t do that.”

No one wanted to be seen overturning an election.

Since 2020, some states have taken steps to strengthen voter identification and deadline requirements. But Democrats have already shown us what they plan to do this election. More preemptive legal action still needs to be taken to rein in rogue officials and ensure the chaos of 2020 can’t happen again in November. Procedures must be challenged before votes are cast, otherwise, it will be too late.

Dr. Katz sold his practice after 9/11 to return to his first love, involvement in Intelligence issues, by becoming Program Director for The National Intelligence Conference (INTELCON), and then Executive Director of The Intelligence Summit, and later, America Resurgent.

In addition, Robert spent 11 years in the U.S. military.

By Three AM, June 12, 2016, Muslim jihadi, Omar Mateen, had slaughtered forty-nine club-goers and severely injured fifty-three more.  Where only a short time before, music had vibrated the multi-colored darkened room, and young people at the crowded bar had raised their voices to compete with the cacophony of party people and band.  Now the floor was slippery with blood and eerily quiet with the fallen dead and those pretending to be dead.  It would be another two hours before police would bulldoze the exterior wall and take out the suicidal mass terrorist.

June 12, 2016 changed forever our nondescript little neighborhood.  Although I personally didn’t know the victims, I have been an integral part of this average little Orlando neighborhood for years.  I raised my kids here.  I know all the shops and can greet small business owners by name.  A trip to Publix is as much about running into longtime friends as it is about stocking the pantry.  We wondered if the pall that hung over our neighborhood in the massacre’s aftermath would ever go away.

I wrote the following short piece a couple of days following the unspeakable attack as we were all processing this unprecedented horror:

“SINCE I HAVE BEEN TAKING, STRICTLY FOR PERSONAL ENRICHMENT, A NUMBER OF HOMELAND SECURITY AND TERRORISM CLASSES AT OUR LOCAL COLLEGE, I THOUGHT I HAD A PRETTY REALISTIC OUTLOOK AS TO THE PROBABILITY OF A TERRORIST ATTACK IN OUR AREA.   THERE ARE MANY REASONS FOR CENTRAL FLORIDA TO BE TARGETED.  MILLIONS OF PEOPLE A YEAR FUNNEL THROUGH ORLANDO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT – THOUSANDS A DAY. THE MOST OBVIOUS TARGET, THE TOURIST CORRIDOR, ATTRACTS AN INTERNATIONAL DIVERSITY OF MILLIONS.   WE ALSO KNOW THAT THE CRUISE SHIP PORT AND THE GAS PIPELINE RUNNING UP THE COAST ARE PRIME TARGETS.  I’M PREPARED FOR ALL THAT.   

“WHAT I WAS NOT PREPARED FOR IS THE MASSIVE, HORRIFIC MOWING DOWN OF A HUNDRED  INNOCENT YOUNG LIVES A FEW BLOCKS FROM MY KIDS’ HIGH SCHOOL AND A BLOCK FROM MY GO TO “FOUR CORNERS.”  THAT’S WHERE I DO MY GROCERY SHOPPING AND MY DRY CLEANING, POP INTO MY DRUG STORE AND MY POST OFFICE, AND MAYBE EVEN SWING BY MY LITTLE ACE HARDWARE.  ACROSS THE STREET FROM PULSE ARE A COUPLE OF SHOPS AND MOM & POP RESTAURANTS. BEFORE THE PULSE NIGHTCLUB OPENED, IT WAS LORENZO’S, A LITTLE ITALIAN PLACE WITH GREAT BREAD STICKS WHERE MY KIDS HUNG OUT AFTER SCHOOL.  THE GHOST OF THEIR FOOTPRINTS IS ALL OVER THAT PLACE.  THE PARK WHERE THE NATIONAL NEWS OUTLETS HAVE BEEN STAGING INTERVIEWS IS A COUPLE OF BLOCKS TO THE EAST IN AN OLDER RESIDENTIAL SECTION NEXT TO THE HIGH SCHOOL.  THIS IS OUR NEIGHBORHOOD.  THERE IS NOTHING NOTABLE ABOUT IT.  IT IS JUST A NORMAL LITTLE NEIGHBORHOOD WHERE NORMAL PEOPLE GO ABOUT DOING THEIR NORMAL LITTLE ROUTINES. 

“OUR COMMUNITY HAS FORTY-NINE FUNERALS TO GO THROUGH IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS.  FORTY-NINE!  FOR MOST OF US, IF WE DON’T KNOW SOMEONE WHO WAS THERE, WE KNOW SOMEONE WHO KNOWS SOMEONE.  AS A PERSON WHO WORKS WITH YOUNG PEOPLE, I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR FAMILIAR NAMES ON THE LISTS. THANKFULLY, NOTHING SO FAR.  BUT MY DAUGHTER HAS THREE FRIENDS WHO LOST SOMEONE CLOSE.  FRIENDS FROM CHURCH ARE ALSO SUPPORTING OTHERS WHO HAVE SUFFERED MULTIPLE LOSSES.  THE BROTHER OF A YOUNG FRIEND HAD PLANNED TO BE AT PULSE WITH SOME BUDDIES THAT NIGHT, BUT WAS JUST TOO LAZY TO GET DRESSED.  A NEAR MISS CAN TAKE YOUR BREATH AWAY.  THE UNFOLDING STORIES OF SO MANY LIVES OF PRODUCTIVE, ENERGETIC AND TALENTED YOUNG PEOPLE WITH SO MUCH PROMISE – SO MUCH UNFULFILLED PROMISE – ARE SHATTERING. 

 “LIVING A BLOCK FROM THE PARK WITH THEIR TWO YOUNG CHILDREN, CLOSE ENOUGH TO HAVE BEEN AWAKENED BY THE BARRAGE OF WARRING BULLETS, ARE OTHER FRIENDS WHO ARE NOW FACED WITH HOW TO MAKE THEIR CHILDREN FEEL SAFE IN THEIR OWN HOME EVEN AS, DAYS LATER, THEY CONTINUE TO BE CONFRONTED WITH A SWATH OF DETOURS, SQUAD CARS’ FLASHING LIGHTS, BARRICADES AT EVERY STREET CORNER, AND THE MEDIA INVADING THEIR PARK

“ALTHOUGH AT THE BEDROCK OF MY FAITH IS GRACE AND FORGIVENESS, THANKFULLY, IT DOES MAKE ALLOWANCE FOR RIGHTEOUS INDIGNATION – RIGHTEOUS ANGER.  THAT’S A GOOD THING BECAUSE THAT’S WHERE I AM NOW.  THE ENDLESS STORM OF BULLETS THAT OMAR MATEEN LET LOOSE ON JUNE 12TH IS HORRIFIC BEYOND WORDS.  BEYOND IMAGINATION.  THIS TIME IT WAS THE GAY COMMUNITY. LAST TIME IN SAN BERNARDINO IT WAS A SOCIAL SERVICE AGENCY.  NEXT TIME IT WILL BE ANOTHER UNKNOWN TARGET.  ISIS INSTRUCTS ITS FOLLOWERS TO FIGHT THEIR JIHAD IN PLACE IF THEY CANNOT TRAVEL.  IT HAS NEVER BEEN ABOUT WHO WE ARE.  IT IS ABOUT WHO THEY ARE AND THEIR TWISTED IDEOLOGY AND ESCHATOLOGY

 That was who we were seven years ago.  Then it seemed such a one-off for a “Pulse” to even occur.  There was, of course, the occasional “dirty mosque,” breeding the next generation of jihadis against Western Civilization; but with immigration largely tamped down under the Trump administration, the probability of Islamic terror attacks seemed pretty low.

The mosaic of our country is patterned much differently today.  When Biden ill- advisedly took his foot off the Trump immigration brakes, he exponentially accelerated the lack of controls guiding who and what is crossing onto our soil.  According to Customs and Border Protection data, the single year of 2022 saw 2.2 million illegals cross unimpeded.  Those are the ones we know of.  Among them, almost 11,000 originated from the countries of Afghanistan, Egypt, Iran and Syria.  If only one in ten of those is an Islamic jihadist, we have ushered in over one thousand illegals whose goal is to form cells, terrorize our citizens, and destroy our nation and all of western civilization.  It doesn’t take many.  It took a mere handful to take down the Twin Towers.  Today’s failed policy invites scores more Pulse massacres in scores more unremarkable communities.  Pulse will no longer be a one-off.  We need to be prepared for the siege of well-coordinated horrific attacks of terrorism that will, without warning, explode upon on our normal little neighborhoods where normal people go about doing their normal little routines.

Arizona Election Law May Enable Non-Citizens To Vote In 2024 Presidential Election, Experts Warn

One of the most important states in the 2024 presidential election has a loophole in its election procedures that could allow non-citizens to cast federal election ballots, experts told the Daily Caller.

Democratic Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes crafted the state’s Election Procedures Manual (EPM) to permit individuals whose citizenship cannot be verified to register as a “federal-only” voter and cast ballots in upcoming elections.

“An otherwise eligible registrant who does not submit DPOC (proof of citizenship) and whose U.S. citizenship cannot be verified via AZMVD records or other record in the statewide voter registration database is registered as a ‘federal-only’ voter. A ‘federal-only’ voter is eligible to vote solely in races for federal office in Arizona (including the Presidential Preference Election (PPE)),” the EPM says on page three of its first chapter.

Hans von Spakovsky, a senior legal fellow at the conservative Heritage Foundation, told the Daily Caller he believes Arizona’s two-tiered voter registration system could enable illegal migrants to vote in the upcoming elections.

“I think it’s absolutely a possibility because if you aren’t requiring proof of citizenship, you’re simply going on people’s word that oh yeah I’m a U.S. citizen, you’re going to get aliens who register and who vote,” von Spakovsky told the Caller.

“The Justice Department, they don’t prosecute these cases, even though it’s a felony under federal law for an alien to register and vote,” he continued. “Aliens have an incentive, a voter registration card, which you get when you register, that’s a gateway for getting other kinds of ID.”

He referenced the I-9 form employers are mandated by the federal government to fill out and the fact that it allows individuals to use a voter registration card to establish their identity.

Ken Cuccinelli, a former top official at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and national chairman of the Election Transparency Initiative (ETI) expressed similar concerns in a statement to the Caller.

“Adrian Fontes could have used his elections procedures manual to help close the decade-old loophole regarding non-citizen voting in Arizona elections. Instead, he made it even worse — allowing non-citizens and individuals who have failed to prove their U.S. citizenship to vote in the Presidential Preference Election in 2024,” Cuccinelli said.

“Meaning, the same illegal aliens who have flooded across our open border at unprecedented levels in recent years could help decide the winner of the state’s Republican presidential primary in March. Because the manual is exempt from legislative review, we should expect nothing less from the most radical, far-left administration in the history of Arizona state government.”

The EPM cites the 2013 Supreme Court ruling in Arizona v. Inter Tribal Council of Arizona, a case brought by left-wing organizations challenging Arizona’s law requiring verification of citizenship in order to register to vote. The justices ruled in a 7-2 decision that the National Voter Registration Act preempted Arizona’s citizenship verification law, leading to the creation of the state’s two-tiered voting system.

“The National Voter Registration Act requires that States ‘accept and use’ voter registration forms created by the federal government. The federal form has a question about citizenship, but it only requires that a voter applicant swear under penalty of perjury that he is a citizen. It does not require the person to provide any documentary proof. Arizona law does require documentary proof of citizenship to register to vote. The Supreme Court has held that, for federal races, Arizona is required to accept the federal voter registration form and cannot impose any additional requirements, such as asking for proof of citizenship,” America First Legal (AFL) Senior Counsel James Rogers told the Caller.

“For state and local races, however, Arizona still has the power to require proof of citizenship. The result is that, in Arizona, voters have two options for registering to vote. Their first option is to fill out the state voter registration form, provide proof of citizenship, and then be able to cast a vote in federal, state, and local races. Their second option is that they can fill out the federal form, avoid providing proof of citizenship, and then only be able to cast a vote in federal races. This bifurcated system is unique to Arizona. More than 20,000 voters in Arizona have chosen to submit federal-only forms. These 20,000 people have thus avoided the requirement to prove their citizenship, but also given up the chance to vote in state or local races. It would be interesting to understand why these people have chosen to file federal-only forms, but it does not appear that anyone has ever investigated why,” he added.

Individuals will be registered as “federal only” voters if they submit a federal voter registration form and do not have the documentation required for verifying citizenship. Without verifying citizenship, a person cannot become registered for Arizona’s state-level elections.

If the County Recorder conducts a background check and cannot verify the registrant’s citizenship, the registrant “is entitled to be registered as a ‘federal-only’ voter based on the registrant’s sworn statement on the registration form that the registrant is a U.S. citizen. An otherwise valid voter registration form submitted to the County Recorder, but without accompanying DPOC, shall be accepted, entered into the database, and registered for federal elections,” the EPM states on page eight.

If the Arizona Department of Transportation, Motor Vehicle Department (AZMVD) records do not show the individual has a non-citizen authorized presence designation, such as an “F-Type” driver’s license, the person will be registered if they submit a sworn statement.

Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs and Attorney General Kris Mayes approved Fontes’ new EPM for Arizona’s elections in December. The EPM was last updated in 2019 when Hobbs was secretary of state and contained similar provisions about the “federal-only” voters.

In the 2022 midterm elections, Hobbs defeated Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake 50.3% to 49.7%, a margin of roughly 17,000 votes. Fontes became secretary of state after winning 52.4% to 47.6% over Republican candidate Mark Finchem in the most recent midterm elections.

In the 2020 presidential election, President Joe Biden defeated former President Donald Trump 49.36% to 49.06% in Arizona, a roughly 10,000 vote margin.

Trump is expected to be the 2024 Republican presidential nominee and run against Biden again in the November election. General election polls conducted in December show Trump leading Biden in the state, according to FiveThirtyEight.

Arizona’s illegal immigrant population peaked at an estimated 560,000 in 2008 before dropping by approximately 230,000 due to legislative measures designed to crack down on illegal migration, the Arizona Republic reported. The Migration Policy Institute estimated Arizona’s undocumented population to be 273,000 based on 2019 data.

An average of more than 1,300 migrants are crossing the state’s border each day as the Biden administration oversees record numbers of illegal migrants entering the U.S., NBC News reported in August.

Hobbs deployed the state’s national guard to the border in December to assist with stopping human trafficking and fentanyl smuggling after she requested reinforcements from the Biden administration and did not receive assistance. The federal government temporarily closed the Lukeville, Arizona, port of entry in December because of the illegal immigration surge and re-opened it in January, the Arizona Republic reported.

Border Patrol apprehended an estimated 18,900 migrants during the week of Dec. 8, the Border Patrol’s Tucson, Arizona, section chief said. Border Patrol agents from across the country were brought in to help process migrants “virtually” crossing Arizona’s border due to the migration spike, the Daily Caller News Foundation first reported.

Encounters at the southern border topped 2 million over the past two fiscal years, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) data shows.

“Non-citizens should not be registering and voting in American elections, period. Laws that require proof of citizenship to register and vote protect the integrity of elections. Unfortunately, liberal politicians and left-wing activists routinely attack the laws and safeguards that help states identify and stop non-citizen voting,” Honest Elections Project Executive Director Jason Snead told the Caller.

The Daily Caller reached out to Fontes’ office to ask for clarity on the loophole and whether or not it would enable non-citizens to vote in Arizona. They did not respond.

House Judiciary Committee Subpoenas Fani Willis

The House Judiciary Committee sent a subpoena Friday to Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis for documents related to her potential misuse of federal funds related to her indictment of former President Donald Trump.

“On August 24, 2023, the Committee on the Judiciary wrote to you requesting documents in the custody of the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office (FCDAO) relating, in part, to its receipt and use of federal grant funds issued by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ),” a letter sent from House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan states. “Since that date, we have sent two additional letters, on September 27, 2023, and December 5, 2023, reiterating our requests. To date, you have failed to comply voluntarily with any of our requests.”

“In accordance with the attached Schedule instructions, you, Fani T. Willis, in your capacity as the District Attorney of Fulton County and head of the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office, are required to produce the following items in your possession, custody, or control, from the period of September 1, 2020, to present in unredacted form,” the subpoena reads:

  • All documents and communications referring or relating to the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office’s receipt and use of federal funds, including, but not limited to, federal funds from the Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, and Office of Community Oriented Policing Services.
  • All documents and communications referring or relating to any allegations of the misuse of federal funds by the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office, including, but not limited to federal funds from the Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, and Office of Community Oriented Policing Services.

Republican Georgia Lt. Governor Burt Jones announced members of a new investigatory committee Monday that will have subpoena power and are looking into Willis, the Daily Caller first reported.

The committee is bipartisan, with six Republicans and three Democrats, and will look into Willis’ relationship with her alleged lover Nathan Wade, and the alleged misuse of taxpayer funds. Willis has faced continued scrutiny over whether her indictment against Trump was politically motivated.

Are you frightened enough to cower in the corner or are you angry enough to act? The Globalists are hoping that they have fed you enough lies that being frightened is your only option.  They know if they can push you into that state of mind, they own you. You will do whatever they want to make the fear go away.  Once this crowd gets their hooks in you watch out.

If you are angry enough to act then what should you do? Pick your passion and do a deep dive. There are so many things wrong right now that something will fit.  Dig into that topic. Who are the players, where did the money come from. Who are they donating to? What is their goal? End game?  How is this impact the community? Country? You.  Who are the lobbyists in support of?

Do not succumb to fear because when you do they will own you. This is meant to wake you up and to wake up others. A warning. Prepare. Food, water, ammo and a heat source. Keep some cash in the house too. Anyone that does not see why the border is wide open is living in lala land. This is what happens when we vote for a President that is not a natural born citizen. Obama, Ramaswamy, Haley, Rubio, Cruz, Jindel, Shiva NONE of these people are natural born citizens. Vote for them you vote against our country and our Constitution. I just came across this article on the economy that no one wants to talk about.

Once we lose the dollar as the reserve currency the inflation will be off the charts. I don’t blame our allies for testing out something different than the dollar. The reckless debt spending is insane. That is Bidenomics. Print money, spend the money you print on the 1% so they can donate back to you and produce nothing except debt. I was a mortgage banker. You can’t run a house or country by skimming off the top and producing nothing but debt. I fear we are on a sinking ship. There is no fiscal responsibility in congress on either side. Call Congress Close the border, or close the government

And yes Trump added to the deficit . But he intended to make it, the deficit up, by selling oil/LNG as we have the largest reserve in the world. He was close as we were closing in on Energy Dominance.  When Biden closed Keystone and opened the border he condemned the U.S. to death by 1000 cuts. The Globalist goal was to bring America in line with the other poorer countries.

This week I saw many encouraging things happening. Gov Abbott and the stand for the constitution on the border with other states joining. Finally Governor Abbott stood for the people of Texas and America.

Frankly I was more impressed by the amount of young Americans waking up.  The one major thing from the out cry in the 60’s to today was in the entertainment industry. It seems as though some of the artists are finally getting what is going on and how that is impacting their lives.  I remember when Bill Ayers (Weather Underground mentor of Obama asked John Lennon to write a song to inspire the kids to revolt.  John Lennon wrote “Revolution” Ayers was not happy. Well it seems as though John’s son Sean has coined a few catchy phrases.

Sean Lennon, son of John Lennon, mocked DEI as, “Dumb Evil Idiots.”

He called ESG, “Exploiting Seems Good.”

Daily Caller’s ‘Rigged’ Reveals Radical Steps Democrats Have Taken To Undermine Elections

Watch a few minutes of the corporate media, and you’d think that Republicans have gone insane. In the Trump era, it’s said Republicans use every dirty trick in the book to “suppress” and “restrict” the vote. There is constant talk of the Republican “assault on voting rights” and overall “threats to democracy.” Major companies often use their market power to reinforce the party line, as in the corporate protests over Georgia’s voting reforms. Hell, not-Governor of Georgia Stacy Abrams still insists her ill-fated campaign was a victim of a “stolen election.”

But ‘Rigged’ shows what Democrats really mean when they use this sort of language. The Daily Caller spoke with Hans von Spakovsky, head of the Heritage Foundation’s Election Law Reform Initiative, who explained just how radical Democrats have become.

The first case to shine a spotlight on election integrity came in 2000, with a hotly contested presidential election that ended in legal battles, recounts, and eventually, a 537 vote margin of victory for George W. Bush in Florida. Seeing the need to restore confidence, Spakovsky explains how both sides came together in good faith to repair the “deep disillusionment” the American people felt toward the election systems. The 2004 Carter-Baker Commission put forward bipartisan recommendations for how to achieve common sense reforms: how to “maintain clean voter rolls,” “make sure people aren’t registered in more than one state” and ensure absentee ballots are handled “with very secure means.”

Yet today, when Democrats speak of voter “suppression,” what they really mean is anything that furthers these goals they once supported. Now, they even seek to reverse them. Examining how Democrats now work to “loosen up the rules around our elections,” Josh Findlay of the Texas Public Policy Foundation’s Election Protection Project explained the “three main functions” of Democrats’ election policy.

First, they aim to create “the widest universe of voters,” with pushes to lower age and citizenship requirements. Next, they want to “create as many ballots as possible,” flooding the country with mail-in and absentee ballots that require little identity verification. And the ultimate goal is to “get ballots in boxes” — giving Americans nearly endless and effortless ways to vote.

The media, of course, tries to conceal this with a bait and switch: the question, as Spakvosky points out, is not whether this results in “widespread” voter fraud necessarily, as the media assures us cannot happen and as 2020 proves is exceedingly difficult to substantiate. Rather the question that must be asked is, “are these elections we can have confidence in?”

As ‘Rigged’ proves, the answer is a resounding no. Democrats used to agree with Republicans on the importance of election integrity; now, they do everything they can to undermine it. There’s no way to trust a party that says they are cheating as they do everything in their power to make it easier to cheat. And it only makes matters worse when they attack anyone who opposes their efforts as the true danger to free and fair elections. There’s only one party that poses a “threat to democracy,” and it’s not the Republicans.

Have We had Honest or Dishonest Elections?

There are two radically different viewpoints about what happened in 2020. Which is the primary explanation? Let’s briefly outline each…

Position #1: Some intelligent people have told me that they believe that the Dems won in 2020 honestly, because: a) they had better messaging, b) they did a better job at getting out the vote, c) they had a better candidate, etc.

Position #2: My view (after 3+ years of intensive immersion into the election issue) is that the Dems won dishonestly, e.g. due to: a) voter fraud, b) voting machine manipulation, c) ballot processing incompetence, d) State officials unilaterally changing voting rules (using COVID as an excuse), e) illegal government support of political messaging, f) manipulation of search engine queries (e.g., Google), g) media’s intensive misinformation campaign, h) NGO influence (e.g., Zuckerbucks), etc.

Which position is correct is not an academic matter, as it has a HUGE bearing on what should be done in advance, to avoid a 2020/2022 repeat in 2024. Those who waste time, effort, and money on the wrong answer are inadvertently perpetuating the problem. I discussed this a few months ago in my post “How Did the Dems Win in 2020,” but apparently I did not go into sufficient detail.

Some examples (from independent experts) about why my position is what it is:

  1. There are zero meaningful mandated post-election audits in any state, any county, or any precinct in the US. (This Report [and short video] explain what meaningful audits are.) This is an ENORMOUS loophole that bad actors will instinctively exploit.
  2. A special statewide 2020 Nevada voter AUDIT identified 130,000+ cases of voter fraud! (Note: the difference between the Presidential candidates was about 35,000 votes.)
  3. A Court-supervised 2020 Michigan County voting machine AUDIT concluded that there was “intentional” ballot manipulation by some of these machines!
  4. In the only US legal case where a Judge actually examined 2020 ballot processing, he ruled that in a single 2020 federal race, the NY State (Democrat) election department violated state law in at least nine (9) different ways!
  5. An extensive Report by a retired Judge concluded that in 2020, Wisconsin election laws were violated in multiple ways.
  6. An analysis of the comprehensive list of 92 lawsuits related to the 2020 Presidential election concludes that several Democrat state officials substantially weakened election integrity by illegally usurping powers assigned to the legislature.
  7. A detailed statistical analysis of Pennsylvania’s 2020 Presidential election results by independent experts concluded that there were some 300,000 suspect votes. (Note: the Presidential candidate differential was 80,000 votes.)
  8. A detailed statistical analysis of Michigan’s 2020 Presidential election results by independent experts, concluded that there were some 200,000 suspect votes. (Note: the Presidential candidate differential was 150,000 votes).
  9. A detailed statistical analysis of Edison Research’s 2020 presidential election results by an independent expert, observed that there were some 4 Million negative votes listed. These were all attributed to “error correction.” It’s illogical to believe that there were that many errors — but if there were, it is an indictment of a horrifically bad election system.
  10. A detailed statistical analysis of Edison Research’s 2020 Presidential election data by an independent expert, concluded that there was a net of some 3 Million vote spikes in favor of Biden.
  11. A detailed statistical analysis of Edison Research’s 2020 Presidential election data by independent experts, concluded that just three (3) states changed the US election results — and in all of them the vote spikes far exceeded Biden’s margin.
  12. A detailed statistical analysis of Edison Research’s 2020 Presidential election data by independent experts, concluded that in those three (3) states: 95%± of their counties voted as expected, but the other outliers made the difference.
  13. A detailed statistical analysis of Edison Research’s 2020 Presidential election data by independent experts, concluded that the voting in 95%± of US counties was consistent with the 2016 election results. In other words, the claims that Dems: a) had better messaging, b) did a better job at getting out the vote, and c) had a better candidate, etc. — are provably inaccurate, as those don’t stop at county lines!

The Bottom Line

Yes, regarding the 2020 Presidential election, in some situations the Democrats did do a better job at messaging, getting out the vote, etc. However, the evidence is unequivocal (e.g., carefully read ALL of the above), that the PRIMARY reason for the 2020 Presidential result, is because of dishonesty, illegalities, etc.

Anyone who can objectively and thoroughly review this collection of evidence, and still think that the main reason that the Dems won in 2020 was because: a) they had better messaging, b) they did a better job at getting out the vote, c) they had a better candidate, etc., has been afflicted by Confirmation Bias. [This ailment is so pervasive, that it is called The Mother of All Biases! ]

Is there an antidote to Confirmation Bias? Yes— CRITICAL THINKING!

The Solution

Once we accept the Truth here, the question is: what can be done about it?

Several obvious answers come to mind: 1) immediately pass meaningful mandatory partial forensic audits in key states, 2) VOTE (and encourage other patriotic citizens to vote)!, 3) educate more of the public, 4) get more good people involved with the election process, 5) elect more competent representatives who will pass better election laws, 6) aggressively prosecute those who violate election laws, etc.

Again, the single most important solution to countering election shenanigans, is to have mandatory meaningful post-election audits. “Meaningful” would be a partial forensic sample audit, done shortly after the election. The quickest, least expensive, most impactful partial forensic audit would be a voter audit (akin to the Nevada 2020 audit). For more details see here (or watch the short video version).

Astoundingly, no such meaningful audits are legislated to be done in any state, any county, or any precinct in the country.

To have any hope for honest 2024 elections, we MUST fix this, immediately!

The Swiftian Candidate: How a Pop Star Might Impact the Presidential Election

For decades, celebrities have insisted on involving themselves in politics and political commentary, whether they have any moral or intellectual basis for doing so or not. Whether it’s middle-aged, wine-box variety feminists on “The View” or the latest thespian to mistake an increasingly-irrelevant acting award for a doctorate in political science, the rich and famous insist on airing their pernicious political positions in, more often than not, the most noxious, arrogant, self-aggrandizing terms imaginable. Even the legendary Narcissus would blush to hear a politically-charged Academy Award acceptance speech — at least all he did was stare at his reflection and leave the rest of the world alone.

One of today’s most prominent celebrities, however, was largely silent on the subject of politics for much of her career, but now has the potential wherewithal to sway nearly a fifth of voters in 2024. According to a new survey, country star-turned pop icon Taylor Swift’s endorsement would likely influence 18% of voters in America, including about 30% of voters under the age of 35. Of course, Swift is likely to endorse the incompetent, geriatric incumbent Joe Biden.

This should not be a surprise, nor a puzzle to figure out. The pop star previously endorsed the Biden-Harris campaign in 2020, posting a platter of Biden-Harris campaign-sticker-style cookies to Instagram. Even before this, in the documentary “Miss Americana,” Swift lamented not having used her influence to criticize then-candidate Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election. She also blasted Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) in the 2018 midterms, calling the staunchly pro-life politician “Trump in a wig” and endorsing Blackburn’s opponent, pro-abortion Democrat and former Volunteer State governor Phil Bredesen.

In the wake of the 2022 U.S. Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade, Swift took to social media to defend abortion as “women’s rights to their own bodies,” posting a pro-abortion eulogy by Michelle Obama. She has also been a proponent of the LGBT agenda, calling on fans to oppose pro-family, pro-marriage legislation and legislators and announcing Pride Month dedications.

According to a New York Times report, Biden campaign aides and staffers are lobbying for Swift’s endorsement a second time around. “The biggest and most influential endorsement target is Ms. Swift,” the report states. “Gov. Gavin Newsom of California, a top Biden surrogate, all but begged Ms. Swift to become more involved in Mr. Biden’s campaign when he spoke to reporters after a Republican primary debate in September.” Apparently, the Biden team has even considered aligning campaign stops with Swift’s record-breaking “Eras” tour.

It seems ludicrous — laughably so — that a woman who’s made a career out of singing about picking the wrong guy is able to practically direct people how to vote. But setting aside the irony entailed by glancing at Swift’s catalog of songs and failed relationships, the fact that a single, politically-illiterate billionaire celebrity can effectively command a fifth of voters is disturbing, to say the very least, and actually reveals some of the chief flaws of democratic systems.

First and foremost, Swift’s political power is indicative of how far the Western world — America in particular — has fallen from God. C.S. Lewis once quipped in an essay, “Where men are forbidden to honor a king they honor millionaires, athletes, or film-stars instead: even famous prostitutes or gangsters. For spiritual nature, like bodily nature, will be served; deny it food and it will gobble poison.”

Christ the King has been forced out of the public square in secular Western society. In His stead, the masses now do exactly as Lewis predicted and worship celebrities, with Swift towering above them all. Without a God to worship, the public will inevitably worship lesser gods. This lesson is written throughout history: the ancients would worship and sacrifice to Zeus, Jupiter, Odin, Horus, and countless others. Without the revelation of the one true God, Perfection Himself, these false gods were but exaggerations of common human strengths and weaknesses.

Now, in the ages since Christ’s birth, death, and resurrection, a new sort of god has come to be. No more can men conjure gods in their imaginations, unseen beings responsible for thunder and lightning; instead, the public now worships those among them who are deemed to have transcended common human limitations: billionaire businessmen, cutting-edge scientists, and talented performers are all glorified in God’s place. Under the tutelage of the Serpent, man has usurped the throne of God — if only in his own mind. Where God invites man to become one with Him, man’s new idea of god promises that every man can become a god, and on his own terms, not on Someone Else’s. Without Christ at the center of the public square, man now gobbles poison, and Swift is peddling it with her views on abortion and sex.

In fact, Swift’s very few political statements directly contradict the noble notion of self-sacrifice inherent in a Christ-centered public square: endorsing the killing of one’s own children for whatever reason — career, reputation, economic ease, or just consequence-free sex — and supporting the sterile LGBT agenda, incapable of producing children or building families, in direct conflict with God’s design for human sexuality. Like the rest of the cultural elite horde, Swift buys into, repackages, and mass-distributes the Luciferian agenda. But unlike the rest of the cultural elite horde, her influence may be enough to alter the outcome of an election.

Finally, there is the alarming degree of political illiteracy prevalent among her fans. Self-declared “Swifties” willing and ready to base their vote on the pop star’s endorsement are not informing their political worldview but allowing someone else to form it for them. One politician’s endorsement of another is a means of informing the political worldview of citizens, a way of saying, “If my policies align with your priorities, then consider voting for this guy, there’s a lot of overlap.” But if swaths of Americans are prepared to vote for a candidate based only on one individual’s recommendation, these people are not bearing in mind the countless generations of Americans who came before them and fought, killed, bled, and died for their children’s children’s children to be able to choose for themselves their leader, instead of having a despot thrust upon them. They are not bearing in mind the God-given responsibility they have to form their consciences well and vote accordingly. They are not bearing in mind God’s commandments and designs and how those ought to be lived out in a virtuous society.

The ”democratic” part of our democratic republic is increasingly falling under the control of a handful of powerful, uber-wealthy cultural elites who dictate where political power goes and how it is exercised. Sounds an awful lot like tyranny.

As for his Nazis past, George Soros told Steve Korft of 60 Minutes, that his collaborating with the Nazis, was ”for me, it was a very positive experience,” “it was a very happy making, exhilarating experience,” “for me it was a very positive experience.”

“The Soros agenda is one of death and destruction in the name of open borders and ending Western Civilization,” Mike Howell, director of the Oversight Project at the conservative Heritage Foundation.

Soros Donations Aim to Turn Red Texas Blue

Billionaire Democrat donor George Soros is reportedly pouring cash into Texas to turn the red state blue.

The Texas Tribune in early January reported the Soros-backed Texas Majority PAC was pouring funds into “various regions” in hopes to sway the state.

In a new report from Fox News, the breadth of the contribution was revealed — showing Soros has contributed over $3 million to liberal groups over the last year to help Democrats gain some traction in the GOP stronghold.

In August 2023, the PAC had gotten hundreds of thousands of dollars from Soros’ Democracy PAC II, the outlet reported — yet hadn’t been publicly launched at the time.

The Texas Tribune reported former staffers of Beto O’Rourke’s gubernatorial run raised nearly $2.25 million last year.

“We need millions of more dollars and hundreds of more full-time staff to do this,” the group’s executive director, Katherine Fischer, told The Texas Tribune. “Texas Majority PAC works with partners across the state to create the conditions that will make flipping the state possible.”

According to Fox, recently released Texas campaign finance records show Soros’ Democracy PAC II has given the group $850,000 in contributions — and personally provided $1.4 million — accounting for the PAC’s entire $2.25 million in donations.

Mayra Flores, a former GOP lawmaker — the first Mexican-born woman to serve in the House — thinks Soros is pouring money into the Texas Majority PAC to boost Democrat turnout, and thwart GOP Hispanic leaders to win over other Hispanics who traditionally voted blue, the outlet has reported.

“George Soros and the Democratic Party are seeing people like myself that resonate with the Hispanic community,” she reportedly said.

“They resonate with me. I resonate with them. We have similar stories. I’m bilingual. I speak Spanish and English. We have similar stories, and we share that bond.”

Though most of Soros’ Texas cash has gone to the Texas Majority PAC, he’s also given hundreds of thousands of dollars to other groups working to elect Democrats statewide, the outlet reported.

Campaign finance records show Soros has donated at least $300,000 in the second half of 2023 to CTX Votes, and in December gave $250,000 to the Texas Organizing Project — which was criticized for bailing out a man charged with several slayings, including his parents.

E. Jean Carroll’s Tweets That The Jury Was Not Allowed To See

Tweets from the leftist slut accusing Trump of rape, losing criminal case and then being awarded over $80 M in a defamation case that Jury was not allowed to see.  Trump never even met her.
Our legal system is so broken!

I received this from a friend.

Those Trump-haters out there that watched with glee as DJT got taken to the cleaners by a Judge, a Jury, and a perverted woman (the accuser) he never met, in a civil court defamation case that really turned out to be the witch hunt of all witch hunts, should be taken aback by the accuser’s very sick posts (tweets).

Those tweets are shown below by our good friend, Royal…and remember that the Jury never got to see them.

The question is: Will these small-minded, Trump-hating people be taken aback by the revelation of these perversions produced by a very sick woman, E. Jean Carroll to be specific? My answer: NO!! Why? First, because they are small minded (Joy Behar is the poster child type); and second, because they are all likely stricken by that dreaded TDS disease.

In addition, the outlandish award of $83.3 million will never stand on appeal, but by then who will be paying attention…certainly not the legacy Media.

Royal is so correct when he says: “Our legal system is so broken!”

But wait, I’m not finished!!

Please mark it down that all of these court activities involving this pervert of a woman were civil cases dealing with her accusations of being raped by one Donald J. Trump.

Flash!! DJT was never found guilty of raping the Carroll woman in a criminal court. If he had, you can bet he would have been headed for jail and his days of running for a second term as President would have been over. That just did not happen.

But, oh, how the legacy Media had a field day in confusing the gullible public on that one. Fact: DJT was not found guilty of raping E. Jean Carroll. Period, end of story.

The legacy Media wanted America to believe otherwise. They too hate Trump because he’s got their managed news number. Fake news specialists!!

Please also note: The standards of proof and ultimate findings in a criminal case are very much higher than in a civil proceeding…the two standards are not even close. Actually, civil cases don’t even speak in terms of guilt or innocence, but only in terms of being liable or not liable. And, there is no (repeat NO) criminal consequences to a finding of liability.

Should Voting Machines be Scrapped?

Recap: The three main elements of election voting are:

  1. The voter,
  2. The machines, and
  3. The process.

All three need to be on the up-and-up to assure election integrity.

One of the core election integrity debates is whether using electronic voting (machines, etc.) is a net asset or net liability?

In researching this topic, I found it interesting how that key question was often subtly massaged. For example, a video is “Electronic Voting Machines: Do They Improve the Voting Process?” What exactly does improve the process mean?

Many people would say that waiting in long lines to vote is a waste of time, so if machines make things go quicker, they would be labeled as an improvement.

Considering what is at stake (e.g., that a President gets to largely determine our country’s policies for 4+ years), ballot accuracy for eligible voting citizens is by far the most important criterion. Sacrificing accuracy for speed makes no sense at all.

Another frequent justification for using voting machines is this type of claim: countries like Canada, Norway, and Australia have already experienced success with their adoption of electronic voting systems. However, it is not clear what they are calling “success” — speed or accuracy? In other words, how many of these “success” stories have genuine post-election audits?

Maybe I’ve missed it, but I was unable to find any evidence of meaningful, mandated post-election audits done in Canada, Norway, or Australia. I found it interesting that there were extensive provisions for auditing election-related expenses (e.g., stamps), but nothing comparable to audit election ballot accuracy!

A new major concern is the impetus to skip right over the effort needed to assure that electronic machines are accurate and secure, and go to the next level: online voting.

Here is a Left-leaning source sounding the alarm against this extremely risky election methodology. This Stanford scientist states that “computer scientists and security experts are nearly unanimous in opposition to online voting.”

To be able to answer the question posed by the Title, we need to be crystal clear about what our priorities are. As stated above, considering the enormous influence that our representatives have on all of us, the number one priority simply has to be accuracy. There are other legitimate factors (speed, cost, availability, accessibility, etc.) and we should make reasonable efforts to address all of these.

However, under no circumstances should accuracy be sacrificed for anything else!

A second fundamental matter we need to be clear about is that there are three (not two) major election process options:

  • low electronics (e.g., paper ballots, all hand counted),
  • moderate electronics (e.g., paper ballots, machine-scanned [and counted], and
  • high electronics (e.g., voting and tabulating are all done by digital machines.

When most people say “voting machines” they are usually referring to the third option.

Assuming that, the question is: are voting machines less accurate than the two main paper ballot options? My answers:

  1. Using hand-counted paper ballots is NOT a flawless option. We need to acknowledge that there are serious accuracy issues with paper ballots — e.g., here. Another example of the susceptibility of the low electronics version is drop boxes. Just because everything is done on paper, does NOT assure election integrity.
  2. The high electronics option is the most susceptible to hacking. Worse, it has the least amount of a paper trail — which makes this the hardest to meaningfully audit for chain of custody (accuracy). These are two killer weaknesses, with no reasonable solutions. This results in the least accurate of the three options here.
  3. Of the practical options available to us, the moderate electronics version (machine-scanned paper ballots) appears to be the best choice. However, it is critically important that proper (and uniform) regulations be placed on both: a) the voter (to assure that legitimate citizens only vote once), plus b) the electronic components (to minimize the possibility of ballot manipulation by electronics).

To optimize the accuracy of the best option (moderate electronics), at least two changes need to be made, for ALL states:

Make the paper ballot more secure.

As an example, on the Florida ballot, there is now a box (about ½ by ½ inch), at the top left of the ballot.  It is for the Supervisor of Elections to enter a special code that will not affect the reading of the ballot by the ballot scanner.  What could be done nationally is that every ballot would have a unique alpha-serial code (UPC or invisible) — but it would not identify a voter. If done right, it would make it much more difficult to mass-produce fraudulent ballots, for persons to vote twice, etc.

Have state-to-state uniform, meaningful electronics regulations.

Texas seems to have one of the better sets of election-related machine regulations. From what I know (and correct me if I’m mistaken) few states have that amount of specificity and oversight of election-related electronic components.

That there is no state-to-state rule and regulation uniformity, is very problematic. It’s an open invitation for bad actors to infiltrate the states with weaker rules (just like a bank with weaker security would more likely be a target of thieves).

As much as I’m concerned about federal involvement, having a requirement that all states code their paper ballots, plus having a national set of uniform minimum election machine regulations that states are obligated to comply with, makes some sense.

Final thought: No matter what choice we make about the voting mechanics, it is absolutely imperative that there are quick, forensic post-election audits. Currently, there are no meaningful mandated post-election audits. (Various versions of recounts are superficial deceptions.) For more info see the Report my team wrote on this topic.
