There’s an upside to the Alito draft leak

Why should close reading, historical insight and an abundance of footnotes delegitimate the Court?

The leak of Justice Alito’s draft of the majority decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, unfortunate as it may be, should not delegitimate the US Supreme Court.

If a snarky, plotting, election-related draft had been revealed, that would have truly delegitimated the court. But in the draft one only finds very solid scholarship, even if one disagrees with it. It’s exactly the sort of thing that one would have wished for in a profoundly serious, deeply researched opinion.

Why should close reading, historical insight and an abundance of footnotes delegitimate the Court?

As a pro-life writer, I actually was a bit disappointed in the draft’s content. It contains no mention of the horror of abortion, except for a few initial citations from Mississippi. Nor does it mention any of the procedural flaws of Roe, especially the lack of a factual record (re life and re women) tested at a trial proceeding. And, an even bigger gap, it doesn’t mention any of the arguments that abortion hurts women. (Justice Kennedy did better a few years ago.)

So I think Justice Alito bent over backwards to go easy on the supporters of abortion. His text only hammers hard at the surface incorrectness of the reasoning of Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pa. v. Casey.

In this regard, the leak has a silver lining. People will read through the draft opinion with greater care than they would ordinarily lavish on an actual Supreme Court opinion, where only the final result matters to most of us. Of course, even here many will be only concerned with where Alito comes out, but even then they will scrutinise it in order to figure out the best counterblow. And people find it plain exciting to read stuff that’s supposed to be secret.

Here is some evidence for my silver lining. The Washington Post yesterday published an annotated albeit somewhat simplified version of the text. I thought that both the abridgment and the textual comments were remarkably fair-minded, really devoted only to explicating Alito’s reasoning, not to unfairly debunking it.

Others are no doubt doing what the Washington Post did. This will soften support for Roe. If more and more people learn what an unfounded opinion it was, they will have less reverence for it. (I will concede that showing the extreme sloppiness of Roe does delegitimate the Supreme Court of 1973 quite a bit, but at the same time it elevates the legitimacy of the current Court. So I’m not sure how that eventually washes out in terms of the historical trajectory of legitimacy.)

I’m not denying that the main political event that we are seeing right now is the marshalling of the mob. But that would have occurred in any event, as soon as the Court announced its decision in June .

But maybe advance titillation is slightly better than a done-and-dusted announcement in June.

Schiff on SCOTUS Breach: ‘I Don’t Care How the Draft Leaked’

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) tweeted on Wednesday that he did not care how the draft of the Supreme Court opinion on Roe v. Wade leaked — despite it being an unprecedented breach in the Supreme Court’s modern history.

“I don’t care how the draft leaked. That’s a sideshow,” he tweeted. “What I care about is that a small number of conservative justices, who lied about their plans to the Senate, intend to deprive millions of women of reproductive care. Codifying Roe isn’t enough. We must expand the court.”

This is the same inveterate liar who tried to protect the identity of the leaker of former President Trump’s classified call with the Ukrainian president. He doesn’t care about the leakers in any instance in which the leak serves his Party’s corruption and power-mad agenda.

And he’s using the leak to push the Democrat agenda to pack the Court with Progressive Justices, because Democrats’ first impulse when thwarted is not to change hearts and minds but to change the institutions whose rules and laws obstruct the Democrat Party.

Yet, at the same time, the Capitol Hill Police was erecting a fence around the United States Supreme Court to prevent pro-abortion activists from storming the High Court and possibly harming the justices.

A little bit of irony, I guess, for that iron fence.

Where was Sleepy Joe back in 2020 when Black Lives Matter and Antifa rioters were setting fire to cities, threatening violence against white-skinned restaurant customers, and actually establishing seditious Autonomous Zones in cities across America, such as the one in Seattle that told residents, “You are now leaving the USA.”

Is there no end to the libs torturing our minds with inexhaustible deceit and fanciful illusions?

If you look at history, the root cause of such thoughtless trite, I believe, is Charles Darwin’s evolution.

If God can be removed from creation, then man can start paving an imaginative road of self-conceit.

That imaginative road is now on full display with such eye-popping phrases as birthing people, chestfeeding, and people who bleed (menstruation).

At Shout Out Patriots, we needed time to vent, bash and bring a biblical perspective to people who replace reality with fairy tale stories and pseudo-science illusions.

Doing so is our job as Christians and Patriots.

Was Ohio’s Primary A Sign Dems Are Heading For A Midterm Massacre?

Dem Turnout Craters In Ohio As GOP Votes Soar

Turnout for Tuesday’s Democratic primary in Ohio was down significantly compared to 2018 as Republicans showed up in even greater numbers, MSNBC reported.

Democratic turnout was down 27% in Ohio, a decrease of over 185,000 votes, MSNBC reported. Republicans, on the other hand, increased their turnout by 28%, securing 230,000 more votes.

“I wouldn’t base projections for the midterm off of the primary, but … if you’re looking for signs of Republican enthusiasm and a lack of Democratic enthusiasm, then you probably could point to the Ohio primary results,” Kyle Kondik, managing editor of election forecaster Sabato’s Crystal Ball, told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Republicans had a far more competitive Senate primary than Democrats in Ohio, with polling showing multiple different conservatives in the lead in the weeks prior to election day. Democratic Rep. Tim Ryan easily won the nomination with 70% of the vote.

Polls have continually shown the Republican Party increasing its lead over the Democratic Party when it comes to enthusiasm. The GOP had a 17-point enthusiasm advantage over Democrats in an NBC News poll released in March, up from the 11-point advantage it had in October.

The March primary in Texas had Democrats increasing their turnout by 4%, but Republicans increased their turnout by 27%. Five counties along the U.S.-Mexico border, which have large percentages of Latino voters, showed a turnout increase of 25% in the Republican primary.

All of former President Donald Trump’s endorsements in the Texas, Ohio and Indiana primaries have moved on to the general election with the exception of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who will face a runoff on May 24, Politico reported.

“I think his endorsement is valuable,” Kondik told the DCNF while adding that Trump’s record is likely to become more inconsistent as the primaries continue. “And I think Republicans believe it’s valuable, so they’ll continue to seek it.”

Google has the power to manipulate what you see online, targeting you with certain advertisements and burying search results they’d rather you not see. But can they go so far as to control the outcome of political elections? Absolutely, according to Robert Epstein, Ph.D., a senior research psychologist at the American Institute for Behavioral Research and Technology (AIBRT).

Epstein, a Harvard-trained psychologist who founded the Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies, likens Google to a dictator with unprecedented power because it relies on techniques of manipulation that have never existed before in human history. The free services they provide really aren’t free, he warns. “You pay for the with your freedom.”1

Google Uses Ephemeral Manipulation Tools

In the video above, Epstein speaks with Jan Jekielek, senior editor of The Epoch Times, about Google’s ability to control public policy, swing elections and brainwash our children. Google has the power “to censor content, to track our every move, to tear societies apart, to alter the human mind, and even to reengineer humanity,” Epstein writes in his report, “Google’s Triple Threat,”2 which he details in his interview with Jekielek.

The methods Google uses are ephemeral and leave no paper trail, making it very difficult to track and prove that they’re using humans as pawns, manipulating us via ways that we can’t counteract. Ephemeral experiences occur briefly, then disappear, and include things like a list of suggested videos on YouTube, search suggestions and topics in a newsfeed.

“They affect us, they disappear, they’re stored nowhere and they’re gone,” Epstein says. “It’s the ideal form of manipulation. People have no idea they’re being manipulated, number one, and number two, authorities can’t go back in time to see what people were being shown, in other words, how they were being manipulated.”3

Epstein and his team, however, have found ways to track Google’s invisible, almost subliminal, tools, including the search engine manipulation effect (SEME). According to Epstein:4

“SEME is one of the most powerful forms of influence ever discovered in the behavioral sciences … It leaves people thinking they have made up their own minds, which is very much an illusion. It also leaves no paper trail for authorities to trace. Worse still, the very few people who can detect bias in search results shift even farther in the direction of the bias, so merely being able to see the bias doesn’t protect you from it.”

Research by Epstein and colleagues has found that biased search results can change people’s opinions and voting preferences, shifting opinions in undecided voters by 20% to 80% in certain demographic groups.5 Internal emails leaked from Google talk about “ephemeral experience,” and the company makes a point to engineer ephemeral experiences intended to alter the way people think.

SEME, however, is just one of about a dozen subliminal tools that Epstein’s team has discovered. Others include the “search suggestion effect,” the “opinion matching effect” and the “YouTube manipulation effect.”6

Google Shifted Millions of Votes in 2020

As Epstein and his team began to preserve politically related ephemeral experiences, extreme political bias was uncovered on Google and YouTube, which is owned by Google’s parent company Alphabet.

In the days leading up to the 2020 Presidential election and 2021 Senate runoff elections in Georgia, for instance, they preserved 1.5 million ephemeral experiences and more than 3 million web pages, which were sufficient to shift “at least 6 million votes in the presidential election without people’s knowledge.”7

This isn’t an isolated incident. In 2016, Google’s search algorithm generated biased search results that influenced undecided voters, giving 2.6 million to 10.2 million votes to Hillary Clinton.

Epstein makes a point to state that he leans left politically, but despite Google’s bias working to support the candidates he supported, he can’t applaud it, “because rigorous research I have been conducting since 2013 has shown me how dangerous these companies are – Google-and-the-Gang, I call them.”8

Even displaying a “Go Vote” reminder on Google on election day in 2018, Epstein found, gave one political party an extra 800,000 to 4.6 million votes compared to what the other party got. What’s more, Epstein says those numbers are “quite conservative.”9 “In other words,” Epstein explained, “Google’s ‘Go Vote’ prompt was not a public service; it was a vote manipulation. This type of vote manipulation is an example of what I call the ‘Differential Demographics Effect.’”10

Epstein also had a monitoring system in place in 2018, which preserved more than 47,000 election-related searches on Google, Bing and Yahoo, along with nearly 400,000 web pages that the search results linked to. The political bias that was uncovered in the results may have shifted 78.2 million votes to one political party.11

Even the “autocomplete” feature that occurs when you start to type in Google’s search engine is a powerful manipulation tool. “A growing body of evidence suggests that Google is manipulating people’s thinking and behavior from the very first character people type into the search box,” Epstein writes.12 Just from this feature alone, Epstein’s research found Google can turn a 50/50 split among undecided voters into nearly a 90/10 split — all without people realizing they’re being manipulated.

Further, because Google’s persuasive technologies are so powerful, and many elections worldwide are very close, Epstein’s data suggest Google has likely been determining the outcomes of up to 25% of national elections worldwide since at least 2015.13

Google Is a Surveillance Agency

It’s important to understand that Google is a surveillance agency with significant yet hidden surveillance powers, and this is one of their primary threats to society. As noted by Epstein:14

“The search engine … Google Wallet, Google Docs, Google Drive, YouTube, these are surveillance platforms. In other words, from their perspective, the value these tools have is they give them more information about you. Surveillance is what they do.”

While surveillance is Google’s primary business, their revenue — which exceeds $130 billion a year — comes almost exclusively from advertising. All that personal information you’ve provided them through their various products is sold to advertisers looking for a specific target audience. Meanwhile, they also have an unprecedented censorship ability. By restricting or blocking access to websites, they decide what you can and cannot see.

The most crushing problem with this kind of internet censorship is that you don’t know what you don’t know. If a certain type of information is removed from search, and you don’t know it should exist somewhere, you will never know and you won’t go looking for it. This is how hundreds of millions of people have been deprived of learning the power of natural healing from me and many other clinicians who have been censored by Google.

For example, Google has been investing in DNA repositories for quite a long time, and adding DNA information to our profiles. According to Epstein, Google has taken over the national DNA repository, but articles about that — which he has cited in his own writings — have all vanished. As it stands, Epstein is worried for the future if no one steps in to stop Google’s power:15

“As the father of five children, I am especially concerned about what humanity’s future will look like if Big Tech is allowed to continue unobstructed on its path toward world domination. In the 1950s, British economist Kenneth Boulding wrote, ‘A world of unseen dictatorship is conceivable, still using the forms of democratic government.’

I am writing this essay because I believe that such a world already exists, and that unless we act quickly and decisively, the power that the technology company executives have garnered will become so firmly entrenched that we will never be able to unseat them from their invisible thrones.”

Epstein’s Six Top Privacy Tips

The first step to breaking free from Google’s dictatorship is recognizing that the manipulation is occurring. The next involves consciously opting out of it as much as possible. It’s especially important that children are protected, as they are among the most vulnerable to the onslaught of manipulation, which will have serious consequences to future generations. Epstein noted:16

“We’re trying to figure out how the manipulation works. But most importantly, we’re trying to quantify it … Because I think that what’s really happening is that there is a cumulative effect of, not just political bias, but a value literally a cumulative effect of being exposed to certain kinds of values, over and over and over again, on one tech platform, or after another.

And I think that the people who are most vulnerable to being impacted by that kind of process are children.”

Epstein has compiled six steps that can help protect your privacy online, noting that he hasn’t received a targeted ad on his computer or mobile phone since 2014 as a result. To take back some of your online privacy, for yourself as well as your children, he recommends:17

  1. Get rid of Gmail. If you have a Gmail account, try a non-Google email service instead such as ProtonMail, an encrypted email service based in Switzerland.
  2. Uninstall Google Chrome and use Brave browser instead, available for all computers and mobile devices. It blocks ads and protects your privacy.
  3. Switch search engines. Try Brave search engine instead, which you can access on the Brave browser and will not compromise your privacy and surveil you.
  4. Avoid Android. Google phones and phones that use Android track virtually everything you do and do not protect your privacy. It’s possible to de-Google your cellphone by getting an Android phone that doesn’t have a Google operating system, but you’ll need to find a skilled IT person who can reformat your cellphone’s hard drive.
  5. Avoid Google Home devices. If you have Google Home smart speakers or the Google Assistant smartphone app, there’s a chance people are listening to your requests, and even may be listening when you wouldn’t expect.
  6. Consider using a proxy or VPN (Virtual Private Network). This service creates a buffer between you and the internet, “fooling many of the surveillance companies into thinking you’re not really you.”

On September 7th, 2021 USA Today in an article titled, “White House asks Congress for billions in emergency funds for Afghan resettlement” Joey Garrison reported:

WASHINGTON — The White House is seeking billions in emergency funds this month from Congress to help resettle tens of thousands of Afghan immigrants into the U.S.

In a spending request Tuesday outlining “urgent needs,” President Joe Biden’s administration asked Congress to authorize $6.4 billion for Afghan resettlement efforts one week after the U.S. ended its military effort in Afghanistan. The U.S. is currently working to resettle Afghan allies evacuated from the war-torn country.

White House officials also requested “at least $10 billion” for recovery efforts from Hurricane Ida, and an additional $14 billion for other recent natural disasters – including Hurricanes Laura and Delta from last year.

Shalanda Young, acting director of the Office of Management and Budget, made the budget request Tuesday, less than four weeks before the current 2021 fiscal year ends Sept. 30. Together the requests total more than $30 billion.

The funding for Afghan refugees would support U.S. resettlement operations overseas and plans for as many as 65,000 vulnerable Afghans to arrive in the U.S. by the end of his month, according to the White House, and up to 30,000 additional Afghans over the next year.

On September 16th, 2021 Nexstar Media Wire in an article titled “Florida to receive over 1,000 Afghan refugees in coming weeks, report says” reported:

The Biden administration began notifying governors and state refugee coordinators across the country about how many Afghan evacuees from among the first group of nearly 37,000 arrivals are slated to be resettled in their states.

California is projected to take more arrivals than any other — more than 5,200 people, according to State Department data for the Afghan Placement and Assistance program obtained by The Associated Press.

Alabama and Mississippi are each slated to welcome 10, U.S. officials said Wednesday. Hawaii, South Dakota, West Virginia, Wyoming and the District of Columbia are not expected to resettle anyone from the first group of evacuees who fled during the final days of the chaotic U.S. withdrawal last month.

The 2021 Inauguration of Joseph Robinette Biden Jr.

In order to understand what is happening we must look at deeds and not words. Words are just rhetoric, deeds via public policies, mandates and laws have consequences.

Before Biden’s inauguration, it was the federal government’s attacks on those who attended the January 6th, 2021 mostly peaceful demonstration in Washington, D.C. concerning the results of the 2020 presidential election. Many believed the election was stolen. Today there’s more and more information proving that hypothesis right. To understand watch the recently released documentary by Dinesh D’Souza titled “2000 Mules.”

After the inauguration of Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. we immediately saw a flurry of Executive Orders undoing those policies and programs that empowered American citizens and saw that power dramatically shift to the federal government and its agencies.

Then came the federal mandates. These mandates caused lockdowns that not only hurt businesses, both large and small, but also employees and consumers. Then we saw mandates on wearing masks, social distancing, getting vaccinated, getting booster shots, vaccinating children, and even vaccine passports.

Then we began seeing the federal government taking more control by designating parents who raised concerns about what their children learned, books in public school libraries and media centers and clubs and organizations that had the goal of grooming underaged children for sex designated by the U.S. Department of Justice, at the behest of the National School Boards Association, as domestic terrorists.

Then we witnessed  the dismantling of our immigration enforcement and border patrol systems which opened up our Southern, Northern, Pacific, Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico borders to any and all who want to come here illegally including known terrorists, drug dealers and human traffickers.

Then came the war on fossil fuels, our economy and the American culture. The war on fossil fuels led to higher gasoline and diesel prices, which led to higher costs to transport food, goods and services, which led to inflation not seen in decades and then led to stagflation. As we write this column the DOW Industrial Average is down 1,045 points and the NASDAQ Composite is down 626.47 points. Prices of homes are up, unemployment is up and the number of welfare recipients is growing.

Then came the pull out of U.S. forces from Afghanistan and the war between Russia and Ukraine.

We noted that George Orwell’s well-known dystopian novel, 1984, opens with this statement: “It was a bright cold day in April, and the clocks were striking thirteen.”

Well it was, ironically, a bright cold day on April, 27th, 2022 in Washington, D.C. when the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced the creation of its new Disinformation Governance Board. Fiction has now become dystopian public policy. Go figure.

Now we have Biden openly declaring anyone who wants to make or keep America great as “the most extreme political organization that has existed in American history.” Watch:

Actually, there was another group that was even more extreme than those who want to make and keep America great, it was the small group of fifty-six brave men who signed the Declaration of Independence. It was they, who fought in and survived the American Revolution, became known as our Founding Fathers. One of those extremist Americans was Thomas Jefferson, the founder of the Democratic Party. Go figure.

The Bottom Line

On on March 23rd, 1933 Adolf Hitler placed before the German parliament a “Law to Remedy the Distress of People and the Reich” – also called the “Enabling Act.” The decisive sentence in the five-paragraph law read:

“In addition to procedures prescribed by the constitution, laws of the Reich may also be enacted by the government of the Reich.”

It was under these conditions that  German parliamentarians were supposed to carry out the country’s most important vote since the founding of the Weimar Republic in 1919. The law in question would give Hitler’s National Socialist party unchecked powers over the German state.

Today, using the leak of a Supreme Court draft document which would give power back to the states on the issue of abortions and nullify Roe v Wade, Senator Schumer and Representative Nancy Pelosi are drafting legislation to give the power over the life and deaths of the unborn to the federal government, thereby ending our Constitutional Republican form of government as Hitler ended the Weimar Republic in 1933.

History is repeating itself as many of us sit back and watch. Those who do nothing will be doomed to a fate worse than death for you see if we give the federal government the sole right to abort our children then we are in effect creating another holocaust and the return of eugenics.

Eugenics, the forced sterilization of undesirables, was, like abortion, approved by the U.S. Supreme Court giving states the right to involuntarily neuter or castrate those who were deemed unfit. You see in Buck vs Bell the Supreme Court ruling led to 70,000 forced sterilizations in the first half of the 20th century. American eugenicists used forced sterilization to “breed out” traits they considered undesirable.

One need only read Earth Summit, Agenda 21, the United Nations Programme of Action from Rio.  They’re main goal is depopulation in order to save the planet.

Roe vs. Wade may be on its last legs! Rightfully so. It was bad legislation and it should never have been a Federal Law but one that each State should decide. That power belongs at the state level.

Human beings do not have a natural right to slaughter their babies at will. Especially to the degree that the left has taken it where abortion right up to birth is legal. How do doctors who take an oath to protect life justify this murder other than through their bank balances. How do they sleep? How could their family like what they do unless they are as empty morally and ethically as the abortionist? They do the work of Satan.

The leaked draft majority opinion by Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito appears in itself to not be a crime. However, if that opinion was taken illegally from a computer say by hacking or was physically stolen using nefarious means, those would be federal crimes and the FBI should investigate. However, I do not trust the FBI to do a fair and impartial investigation. What a shame that the FBI has sunk to such lows that the leadership ensures they bang the leftist drum.

I believe this document was deliberately leaked to bring pressure on SCOTUS to review and maybe switch their decision to one more favorable to the lunatic fringe on the left. They expect riots and mayhem and wide destruction and hope that will intimidate the SCOTUS to change their decision. In over 200 years this has never happened. The DemonRats have politicized this and other subjects and will stoop as low as they need to achieve their evil ends, aims and ambitions.

Also interesting is the timing of this leak. 2000 mules, the new movie on the stolen election of 2020 by the Democrats and produced by documentary film maker Dinesh D’Souza has just been released so the possibility of that becoming a topic of conversation has been diminished. The MSM will ensure that and even Faux News has fallen into that trap.

Democrats nation wide have come out swinging. From Sniffer Joe all the way down to that old feeble gay fool and chameleon Charlie Crist are baying like hunting dogs for action to be taken to stop Roe vs. Wade being removed.

After all, none of these idiots were ever aborted but are all so very pro. Nothing like a proficient vacuum sucking the very lives out of their mothers wombs, destroying the bodies and causing pain to the babies.

Things are going badly for these leftist idiots. What with Twitter being bought by Elon Musk, a former libtard favorite child, and the expectations that evil, patriotic Americans may actually be able to espouse an opinion different to the left is unthinkable. After all, social media had controlled that for years, banning conservative thoughts, words etc. After all, we are just domestic terrorists threats to a One World Nation!! Deplorable’s!!!Plus we believe in God, morals, ethics, working for a living, sanctity of life and worst of all – the America and the Constitution! So now all these real domestic enemies, the real domestic terrorists, the real threat to our national security, the type that have real thoughts to destroy our beloved nation, see that possibly the right to abortion could become a state issue – where it rightly belongs – and there is a real possibility that as a huge majority of states will be Red after November, the chances that abortions will be freely available to anyone who for example maybe uses it as contraception, is getting remote. The chances of a Republican run state government allowing late term abortions is zero. There will be no real space in those states for the murder machine of the left, Planned Parenthood.

So they are distraught. After all, Planned Parenthood was developed to remove all blacks and other minorities considered inferior by Democrats at the time. All that work and it may be destroyed.

Democrats are calling for a federal law to be written as quickly as possible, ensuring abortion is available for all and everywhere. They are talking about ending the filibuster ensuring they only need 51 votes instead of 60 so the 50 seats they hold plus the laughing hyena VP Dumbo Harris’s vote, would ensure its victory.

That will come back to bite them in a future GOP controlled House.

Packing the SCOTUS with libtard, political whores, is also back in conversation. Judicial puppets to political masters, each one breaking their oaths as easily as you would squash a bug. Each getting richer and each being promised a life of plenty. Sickening.

Both measures will not be popular with the greater population of voters. Real ones – not dead ones!!

I personally think that the clerk or whoever that leaked this document committed treason. I believe that their action was 100 times worse than any lies the DemonRats tell about January 6th. I think that person is a total lowlife commie who cares nothing for the rule of law, our system of governance or our history. Trust me, in any other country they would suffer a fate worse than you can imagine.

Elon Musk Twitter Takeover: ‘EU Does Not Want Free Speech’ Warns Euro MP

A Member of the European Parliament has warned the EU “does not want free speech” after a European Commission official threatened Elon Musk over his takeover of Twitter.

Tom Vandendriessche, an EU-level representative for the Flemish nationalist Vlaams Belang party, has said that the European Union “does not want free speech”, accusing the supranational bloc of wanting to “outsource” censorship to Big Tech corporations.

Vandendriessche’s comments come shortly after one of the European Union’s unelected commissioners, Thierry Breton, issued threats to Elon Musk regarding his Twitter takeover, telling the pro-free speech entrepreneur that he must make sure the platform continues censoring content or face the wrath of Brussels.

In a statement provided by the MEP to Breitbart, Vandendriessche argued that Musk’s publicly-expressed goals for the Twitter microblogging platform are positive and in line with what he has argued for personally in the past — and that the European Union is threatening democracy through its harsh regime of outsourced censorship.

“The EU does not want free speech,” the Flemish MEP said. “That is dangerous for their system.”

“They therefore want to ‘outsource’ censorship to private players,” he continued. “They call that ‘taking responsibility’, but it is nothing less than flat censorship.”…

Vandendriessche’s statement on the Elon Musk takeover runs contrary to the views expressed by Europe’s ruling technocrats, with the bloc’s tsar for the Internal Market, Thierry Breton, demanding that Musk keeps Twitter’s regime of censorship in place.

“Elon, there are rules,” the EU bigwig said, before referencing issues around so-called “hate speech” and moderation. “You are welcome but these are our rules. It’s not your rules which will apply here,” he warned.

“If [Twitter] does not comply with our law, there are sanctions — 6 per cent of the revenue and, if they continue, banned from operating in Europe,” he went on to threaten….

“Regardless of ownership, all social media platforms must be responsible,” said a spokesman for Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

“That includes protecting users from harm on their sites,” the spokesman continued. “It is too early to say what — if any — changes will be made to how Twitter operates.”…

Only Internet Fascism Can Save Democracy

Won’t someone save democracy from the people?

Free speech on the internet endangers democracy, Barack Obama told Stanford University.

The widely hailed speech at Big Tech’s favorite university claimed that autocrats are “subverting democracy” and that democracies have “grown dangerously complacent.” In the slow parade of teleprompter clichés he even  warned that “too often we’ve taken freedom for granted.”

To Obama, the threat to democracy doesn’t come from government power, but the lack of it.

“You just have to flood a country’s public square with enough raw sewage. You just have to raise enough questions, spread enough dirt, plant enough conspiracy theorizing that citizens no longer know what to believe. Once they lose trust in their leaders, in mainstream media, in political institutions, in each other, in the possibility of truth, the game’s won,” he summed up.

Like every Obama speech, “Challenges to Democracy in the Digital Information Realm” didn’t offer anything new, just a distillation of familiar talking points and misplaced assumptions.

The assumption at the heart of Obama’s speech and that of the range of arguments depicting free speech as a cultural and national threat is that the purpose of discourse is state power.

Obama, like many post-liberal lefty critics of free speech, reduces speech to its social impact and its social impact to its political impact. This holistic integration is so fundamental to Marxists and many lefties that they don’t even think twice about the idea that everything we do is reducible to a move on the great abacus of social justice. The food you eat, the car you buy, and the words you say have the potential to either save or damn the planet and humanity.

This quasi-religious conception of mass social mobilization pervades American society. It’s the precondition for wokeness because the only possible moral justification for terrorizing random people on social media is the conviction that governance isn’t political, it’s social, and that the only way to avert climate change and social inequality is by controlling what everyone believes.

Wokeness collapses the distinction between the private and public spheres, and between government and individuals. In a national social crisis, the only conceptual framework through which the Left ever really governs, there’s no time for such liberal niceties as private spheres.

Obama’s speech neatly illustrates the fascism at the heart of this panopticon political project.

Introduce disagreement and you “raise enough questions” that people “no longer know what to believe” and then “lose trust in their leaders”, “mainstream media” and even “truth”. Stripped of all the Brookings Institute globalist prose, what Obama is really saying is that individual disagreement undermines the state. And that truth is dependent on public faith in the state.

This is a value system utterly at odds with the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, one which envisions an intimate link between individual speech and state authority that would have horrified King George III, but absolutely delighted Hitler or Stalin.

It assumes that there can be no other legitimate points of view other than the official one and that there should be no leaders except those who share them. Limiting the range of opinions is necessary to protect state power because there is no distinction between them and the state.

Or as a certain Austrian artist once put it, “One people, One state, One leader”.

When he was promoting his last book two years ago, Obama made the same arguments. “If we do not have the capacity to distinguish what’s true from what’s false, then by definition the marketplace of ideas doesn’t work. And by definition our democracy doesn’t work.”

The assumption that the democratic process leads to truth rather than choice, absolute rightness rather than people power, is an undemocratic paradigm. Its inevitable conclusion becomes that of Obama, that democracy must be protected by controlling the people.

Not only elections, but ideas, are too important to be left to the public.

Obama doesn’t want a marketplace of ideas because people might get the wrong idea and vote him and his political allies out of office. The explicit goal of internet censorship is to control election outcomes by filtering what information the public is able to access.

Like the provenance of a certain Delaware artist’s laptop.

Narrowing the range of acceptable information in order to narrow the range of acceptable opinions, candidates and political systems is the first fundamental trick of tyrannies. It takes a certain chutzpah and a stock of Orwellian buzzwords to redefine that as protecting democracy.

Obama complains, “China’s built a great firewall around the Internet, turning it into a vehicle for domestic indoctrination” and proposes a democratic firewall around the internet under a “regulatory structure” to be designed with “communities of color” to slow “the spread of harmful content.” The democratic people of color firewall will be so much better than China’s firewall.

Pro-censorship elites have the same assumptions as China about the interaction between speech, society, and the state which is why they, like Obama, arrive at the same conclusions. They can dress up those conclusions in buzzwords about “democracy” and “people of color”, but those are differences of style, not substance. The trains all end up at the same station.

Obama speaks about “bugs” in the Constitution. While he is always happy to critique America, the particular totalitarian bug here is deeply embedded into the leftist worldview which denies that people have individual agency, insists that everyone is a prisoner of their social context, and contends that the purpose of the society and the state is an enlightened intertwining. The bug, which is really more of a feature, directly leads to the same outcome as in China or Stanford.

A free society requires healthy breathing spaces between politics and life. The difference between a politicized society and a tyranny is only time. The question at the heart of this debate is “What is discourse for” which is really the question of, “What are people here for?” To believe, as the Left does, that people primarily exist as vehicles for political change is to enslave them.

That’s why every leftist revolution invariably slides toward tyranny along the same worn tracks.

The Founding Fathers believed that people would self-define their purposes. That was why America’s revolution uniquely led to freedom and why leftist revolutions lead to tyranny.

America defined freedom as individual power while lefties define it by the power of the state.

Obama is simply replaying what happens when liberation is treated as a collective enterprise, a journey toward rather than from, that can only be achieved collectively, through the exercise of state power rather than individually through personal choices. The internet, once individualistic, has become collective, and social media, the ultimate embodiment of that collectivism, has become the battleground between individualist expressers and collectivist censors.

Affirm Foundation: Scripture Helps Parents Combat Trans Craze [+video]

In a final rule released Thursday, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) surprisingly omitted a proposed change to bundle so-called “gender transition” procedures into private insurance plans. Dr. Jennifer Bauwens believes comments submitted by Family Research Council, other policy organizations, and thousands of individual citizens are the reason. “By backing off this rule, they don’t have to respond to our comments,” explained Bauwens, Director of FRC’s Center for Family Studies, who drafted FRC’s comment. “The science behind this ideology is really flimsy.” Federal agencies are legally obligated to answer every comment submitted to a proposed rule.” FRC President Tony Perkins agreed they “avoided responding because… a scientific debate… [would] expose what’s behind the curtain.”

Behind the curtain is a “social constructivist point of view,” explained Bauwens, which denies absolute truth. The error is ancient. Post-modernists may gild it in academic jargon, or popularize it with expressions like, “you do you” or “my truth is…,” but it finds common cause with Pilate (“what is truth”), who “hears the truth about Jesus” through his wife’s dream, but “listens to the crowd” instead and orders his execution.

All people living in rebellion against God have “exchanged the truth about God for a lie” (Romans 1:25), extending even to meaning and purpose of sex and identity. “The truth of God’s Word is that God has made us either a man or a woman, male or female. He’s done so for his glory,” said Dr. Owen Strachan, Senior Fellow with FRC’s Center for Biblical Worldview. “What we call gender dysphoria really begins in sin. We don’t talk about it that way today. We don’t trace it back to a moral cause. But honestly, this has been a problem since the fall of Adam and Eve.”

A worldview as fictional as the transgender ideology cannot coexist peacefully with any truth because that would expose its foundation of lies. In government, transgender ideologues are “not going to stop,” warned Bauwens. In the culture, they’re already winning the battle for children — even children of Christian parents. “I’ve heard from many, many parents,” said Perkins, whose “children have been inundated with this.” Families and churches urgently need to help children misled by the culture’s lies.

“We don’t help them,” said Bauwens, “by playing along with their concocted reality.” We ought to affirm their feelings are real without affirming that their feelings are right. Perkins agreed, “if someone says I feel like Batman… or I’m Superman. I can leap tall buildings, and I can run faster [than a speeding bullet], that’s fine. You might feel that way, but don’t try it.” “The only way to truly help people who are experiencing what we call gender dysphoria is to go back to the scripture,” said Strachan.

That’s why “the first duty we have as a father or mother is to teach our kids the scripture,” Strachan said. “If we tie them to the mast of God’s Word, we give them a solid foundation.” “Scripture is really a vaccination of the soul,” agreed Perkins. “It may not be in vogue today, but… it’s going to stand for all eternity. And if you stand on it, you’ll never, ever be disappointed.”

If our children are believers, they “are going to feel the wind in their face at some point,” added Strachan. “It’s not a positive world for Christianity. But we have God, and one man with God is a man in the majority.” Their faith will be tested and tried, and they will need to hold fast to Christ “as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul” (Hebrews 6:19).

What about parents whose children aren’t believers? I can’t save my precious three children at home in Arkansas,” Strachan said. “But what I can do is lovingly try to teach [them] the truth of God.” “Tie them to the mast and save them from the siren song,” Perkins summarized. Teach them that “God loved us unconditionally — that’s why he sent Jesus — but he didn’t affirm us in our sin.” Christ called sinners to repentance (Luke 5:32).

What about children caught up in the lies of the transgender ideology? “You keep sailing through the storm…. You don’t affirm their sin, but you love them,” said Strachan. “The culture’s understanding of love is affirmation,” but “the Bible’s understanding of love for sinners like us is repentance…. We do continue to hug our kids and try to have conversations with them and take them to ice cream,” Strachan added, but “we cannot affirm them in their sin. That’s not loving. That’s fundamentally hating them and setting them up for eternal destruction.”

To escape eternal destruction, every man, woman, and child must repent of their sins and trust in the righteousness of Jesus Christ alone for salvation. That good news is offered to all, even those led astray by gender anarchy. Those who find Christ find life. “God’s truth isn’t just true. It’s good for us,” Strachan concluded. The hard part is living like that’s true.

Cori Bush: ‘Folks Who Can Become Pregnant’ Will Lose Abortion Right

In an interview on MSNBC on Tuesday, radical Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) stated that after the leak of the draft opinion on Roe v. Wade, she’s worried about “the 36 million women” and “other folks, people who can become pregnant,” losing access to abortion.

Bush said, “You know, just hearing the president speak and hearing just the announcement that came before that that this is real, that this is what’s going to happen, it felt like a hammer came down. I’m thinking about the 36 million women, nearly half of the women of reproductive age between 18 and 49. I’m thinking about them in the U.S. I’m thinking about other folks, people who can become pregnant, and how they lose this access, the access to abortion.”

Fact check: contrary to Democrat dogma, there are no “other folks” besides women who can get pregnant.

“And I think about what my mindset was at the time when I needed that help,” she continued, discussing her own decision to kill her baby. “And when we think — we have to look at it this way: When I went to get my abortion, I didn’t go to a gas station. I didn’t enter a fast food restaurant. I didn’t go to a bank. I went to a healthcare facility because abortion care is health care.”

Not for the baby, it’s not.

“And we are taking away — this will take away folks’ access to safe abortions,” she added. “And I’m thinking about those that have this need, and that need — that option will be gone.”

Fact check: overturning Roe v. Wade will not abolish abortions — it will simply give the choice back to each state.

We were on twitter and found a new account there, thank you Elon Musk, that tells the truth. The account is called U.S. Ministry of Truth and its twitter handle is @USMiniTru.

The U.S. Ministry of Truth twitter site describes itself thusly:

The United States Ministry of Truth, established by the Biden Administration to combat disinformation from political dissidents. | Oderint dum metuant [Hate fate]. | пароди [Parody]

Below is the U.S. Ministry of Truth‘s first tweet titled, “The clocks are striking thirteen. Welcome to the Ministry.” George Orwell’s well-known dystopian novel, 1984, opens with this statement: “It was a bright cold day in April, and the clocks were striking thirteen.”

Well it was, ironically, a bright cold day on April, 27th, 2022 in Washington, D.C. when the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced the creation of its new Disinformation Governance Board. Fiction has now become dystopian public policy. Go figure.

The Bottom Line

Ironically, on April 16th, 2016 we wrote a column titled “When Satire becomes Politically Correct Policy: DePaul University bans chalk for student safety.”

Here’s our full column:

In March we posted a political satire column titled “Students demand ‘chalk free zones’ after Trump 2016 graffiti found at Emory U.” The column stated, “Trump ‘chalking attacks’ are appearing on college campuses across America. It began on the campus of Emory University where ‘Trump 2016’, ‘Vote Trump 2016’ and ‘Trump’ graffiti was found on buildings, sidewalks and on benches written in chalk on the university campus.”

We concluded with the tongue-in-cheek, “The Keep Chalk on College Campuses (KCCC) free speech movement in a short statement said, “Chalk U!”

On April 4th, 2016 we posted a second political satire column titled, “After a #Trump2016 chalk attack on the White House Obama signs Executive Order banning chalk.” The column stated:

Today the Secret Service reported a “#Trump2016 – Make America Great Again” chalk attack occurred at the White House. President Obama, his family and the White House staff were evacuated to a secret location until the chalker and his/her associates are apprehended.

Josh Earnest, Assistant to the President and Press Secretary, at a White House briefing noted:

The first family and those of us working in the White House now live in fear of the chalkers who want to make America great again.

FBI Director James Comey has just briefed President Obama on this growing existential threat.

These attackers are using chalk as their weapon of choice and they must be stopped at all cost.

After meeting with his National Security Council, President Obama has signed an Executive Order making chalking a federal offense and designating members of Make America Great Again Chalkers enemies of the collective.

The Executive Order calls for the arrest of anyone carrying chalk in a concealed manner. It establishes a federal, state and local law enforcement Joint Chalk Task Force (JCTF) to combat this growing threat to our progressive way of life.

Anyone owning chalk must report it and register on a new national database of chalk possessors.

It appears that political satire has become politically correct policy at DePaul University.

On April 15th, Jazz Shaw from HotAir reports:

The struggle is real, my friends. We’ve already looked at the horror being inflicted upon special snowflakes around the country these days as #TheChalkening sends college students scurrying for their safe space. Who knows what sort of lasting damage could ensue if young adults turn a corner on their morning walk only to see a name or campaign slogan emblazoned on the sidewalk where they are walking, enshrined there for all time? (Or at least until the next rainfall.) Not everyone is taking this threat lying down, however. At DePaul University in Chicago, students will soon be able to perambulate around the quad without fear of such lasting mental scar tissue because the university has banned chalking the sidewalks after someone was tasteless enough to write the name of Donald J. Trump on the pavement. (Daily Caller and Campus Reform)

DePaul University will no longer allow students to chalk political messages on the sidewalks of its campus because of the “offensive, hurtful, and divisive” nature of pro-Trump chalking found on campus last week.

“While these chalk messages are part of national agendas in a heated political battle, they appeared on campus at a time of significant racial tension in our country and on college campuses. DePaul is no exception,” Depaul’s vice president for student affairs Eugene Zdziarski wrote in a campus-wide email obtained by Campus Reform…

Campus Reform reached out to DePaul to ask why university officials chose to respond to this particular chalking instance despite claims that chalking “regularly” occurs on campus. No response was received in time for publication.

The entire idea of “chalking” as a form of expression has apparently been a tradition at DePaul for quite some time, just as it is on sidewalks around the nation.

Today Biden and his administration have turned political satire into a new dystopian America with the DHS’ Disinformation Governance Board leading the charge to silence those who criticize them and their policies.

What can we expect as the Build Back Better future of America under Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. if fully implemented?

Perhaps the words of George Orwell will enlighten us when he wrote, “If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face – for ever.” Or as @USMiniTru put it:

We are in a time when telling the truth has now truly become a revolutionary act.

Welcome to 1984 in 2022 and beyond.
