Marine General Explains the 9 Tenants of ‘Critical Military Theory’

“Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” – Sir Winston Churchill

“I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.” – Albert Einstein

“Only the dead have seen the end of war.” – Plato

Several of our readers sent us an essay by retired Marine Corps Lieutenant General Greg Newbold titled “A retired Marine 3-star general explains ‘critical military theory’.”

Lieutenant General Newbold begins by stating:

Many Americans, particularly our most senior politicians and military leaders, seem to have developed a form of dementia when it comes to warfare. The result is confusion or denial about the essential ingredients of a competent military force, and the costs of major power conflict. The memory loss is largely irrespective of political bent because all too many are seduced by a Hollywood infused sense of antiseptic warfare and push-button solutions, while forgotten are the one million casualties of the Battle of the Somme in World War I, or the almost two million in the Battle of Stalingrad in World War II.

This “warfare dementia” is a dangerous and potentially catastrophic malady, because the price for it could alter the success of the American experiment and most assuredly will be paid in blood. The condition is exacerbated and enabled when the most senior military leaders — those who ought to know better — defer to the idealistic judgments of those whose credentials are either nonexistent or formed entirely by ideology. [Emphasis added]

Under the current administration with memory loss and dementia taking on new life with the potential of war between Russia and the Ukraine we need to understand the words of General Newbold.

Biden and his national security team are acting like their lost in space with confusion and denial over the potential costs of war in Europe in the near term and the possibility of war between a nuclear capable Iran and Israel and Communist China and Taiwan after the Olympic games are over.

Lieutenant General Newbold wrote his essay to:

[E]xplain the fundamental tenets of a military that will either deter potential enemies or decisively win the nation’s wars, thereby preserving our way of life.

Here are General Newbold’s nine tenets of “Critical Military Theory”:

  1. The U.S. military has two main purposes — to deter our enemies from engaging us in warfare, and if that fails, to defeat them in combat. Deterrence is only possible if the opposing force believes it will be defeated. Respect is not good enough; fear and certainty are required.
  2. To be true to its purpose, the U.S. military cannot be a mirror image of the society it serves. Values that are admirable in civilian society — sensitivity, individuality, compassion, and tolerance for the less capable — are often antithetical to the traits that deter a potential enemy and win the wars that must be fought: Conformity, discipline, unity.
  3. There is only one overriding standard for military capability: lethality. Those officeholders who dilute this core truth with civil society’s often appropriate priorities (diversity, gender focus, etc.) undermine the military’s chances of success in combat. Reduced chances for success mean more casualties, which makes defeat more likely. Combat is the harshest meritocracy that exists, and nothing but ruthless adherence to this principle contributes to deterrence and combat effectiveness.
  4. A military should not be designed to win but to overwhelm. In baseball, you win if your total score is one run better than your opponent’s. In war, narrow victories incur what we call “the butcher’s bill.”
  5. Wars must be waged only with stone-cold pragmatism, not idealism, and fought only when critical national interests are at stake. Hopes for changing cultures to fit our model are both elitist and naïve. The failures of our campaigns in Iraq and especially in Afghanistan confirm this.
  6. A military force’s greatest strengths are cohesion and discipline. Individuality or group identity is corrosive and a centrifugal force. Indeed, the military wears uniforms because uniformity is essential. The tenets of Critical Race Theory – a cross-disciplinary intellectual and social movement that seeks to examine the intersection of race and law in the United States, but which has the unfortunate effect of dividing people along racial lines – undermine our military’s unity and diminish our warfighting capabilities.
  7. “The enemy gets a vote.” An objective lens for military theory is how the nation’s foes regard our martial ethos; after all, that is what constitutes deterrence…or lack of it. Ferocity, not sensitivity, prevails.
  8. Infantry and special operations forces are different. The mission of those who engage in direct ground combat is manifestly distinct, and their standards and requirements must be as well. Not necessarily better, but different. For direct ground combat units, only the highest levels of discipline, fitness, cohesion, esprit, and just plain grit are acceptable. Insist on making their conditions and standards conform to other military communities, and you weaken the temper of steel in these modern-day Spartans.
  9. Those who enlist in our military swear an oath to carry out dangerous, sometimes fatal duties. We call it “being in the service,” because it’s service to others….selfless sacrifices when the other option was often more comfort, freedom, individuality, and higher pay. Those who occupy the most senior ranks of the military must repay this selflessness with courage that is even rarer — moral courage. Civilian control of the military is indisputable, but its corollary is the ordinary principle that advice is sought, offered, and seriously considered before crucial decisions are made. My personal experience provides examples — the willful exclusion of military judgments in the build-up to the Iraq War with the attendant consequence that the invasion force was too shallow (thereby creating a vacuum which the insurgents quickly filled), and the decision to disband the Iraqi Army (the single most unifying institution in that country) after the collapse of the Baathist regime. A more recent example worth considering involves the Afghanistan withdrawal.

The Bottom Line

Soldiers train to win wars. One must never get into a war without a winning mentality and a clearly defined exit strategy like FDR’s “unconditional surrender” of Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan. Soldiers and our enemies understand unconditional surrender.

Don’t go into any war if you’re not all in. If you’re not all in then get out!

Adolf Hitler wrote:

“If you win, you need not have to explain…If you lose, you should not be there to explain!”

We have seen wars in our lifetime from Vietnam, of which we are a combat veteran of, to Afghanistan.

I have always known that we won the Vietnam war on the ground but lost it during the anti-Vietnam War street protests and in the halls of Congress in Washington, D.C.

I was serving in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne Division during Tet of 1968. I was there when we soundly defeated both the Communist Viet Cong and the Communist North Vietnamese Army. I was shocked to hear Walter Cronkite declare that the Vietnam War was lost on national television.

Today, I worry about putting our young men and women into battle without adhering to all 9 of General Newbold’s tenants.

Sun Tzu, in The Art of War wrote:

“The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting.”

And so ends this lesson on war and peace.

VIDEO: The Sinister Plot for Doctors to Rule the World

Here’s this week’s Shout Out Patriots Show: The sinister plot for doctors to rule the world!

The one thing liberals have perfected is to cloak evil in sheep’s clothing.

During the past two years, cities, counties and states have begun issuing proclamations declaring that ‘Racism is a Public Health Crisis.’ More than 200 such proclamations have been published so far, with some claiming the situation is so dire it’s an emergency.

But underneath this sinister cloak to help “Black and indigenous people of color,” the ultimate goal is for doctors to rule the world.

Sound far-fetched?

How can that be when we are STILL witnessing doctors using the Covid pandemic to control who we see, where we eat, where we go, what medicine we can take, what passports we must possess, and what jobs we can keep?

In this episode of Shout Out Patriots, we explain how the medical profession plans to use ‘Racism as a Public Health Crisis’ to ‘rewire’ society. (Rewire? What they really mean to restructure and control society!)

First, their goal is to have government agencies declare racism a public health crisis.

The second is to tie racism into virtually every illness suffered by blacks and people of color – diabetes, obesity, asthma, heart disease, and more.

Think I’m exaggerating?

Read this from the American Medical Association as it explains that illnesses suffered by blacks and people of color should no longer be attributed to biology but to racism:

“The AMA is committed to pushing for a shift in thinking from race as a biological risk factor to a deeper understanding of racism as a determinant of health.”

Get it? Blacks and people of color get sick because of racism, not flu bugs, not risky health behavior, not biology.

The third is to offer the cure. As we report in this episode of Shout Out Patriots, doctors are calling for a ‘rewiring’ of society.

That would mean requiring employees to be subjected to anti-racist training, which is already happening in some cities and states.

That would also mean making demands for changes in housing, employment, and other ‘race-based corrections,’ as the AMA reports.

‘It’s going to require proactive action,’ says Georges Benjamin, executive director of the American Public health Association.

It’s also going to require putting un-elected doctors, lots of them, doctors like Anthony Fauci, in control of our lives.

Download or stream our recent episode of Shout Out Patriots to learn what we think about this plan to put doctors in control of the world. (For a better listening and viewing experience, download the episode to avoid buffering delays)

Inflation Is Costing Households $250/Month, Moody’s Analysis Finds

As economist Ludwig von Mises colorfully put it, inflation is when ‘money, like chocolate on a hot oven, [is] melting in the pockets of the people.’

Inflation is making headlines again this week. The federal government’s latest data show that consumer price rose 7.5 percent from January 2021 to 2022. That’s the highest rate of price inflation we’ve seen in nearly 40 years!

What does this mean for everyday American families?

new analysis from Moody’s Analytics reports that the average US household is paying an additional $250 a month thanks to this inflation.

“A lot of people are hurting because of high inflation,” Moody’s senior economist Ryan Sweet told the Wall Street Journal. “$250 a month—that’s a big burden. It really hammers home the point of ‘what is the cost of inflation?’”

This disturbing revelation brings into focus something we already knew about inflation: it hurts the working class the most. While $250 a month is hardly a noticeable increase for millionaires, that could easily strain a working-class or even middle-class family’s budget past its breaking point.

Price inflation also erodes Americans’ hard-earned savings in a way that’s just as painful as the government directly hiking their taxes. As economist Ludwig von Mises colorfully put it, inflation is when “money, like chocolate on a hot oven, [is] melting in the pockets of the people.”

That’s exactly what we’re living through. But this leaves us with a more important question: Why are we seeing this surge in consumer prices? Is it some abstract economic phenomenon beyond our control? Is it due to “corporate greed?”

On the contrary, inflation directly traces back to decisions made by our elected (and unelected) government officials.

“The most important thing to remember is that inflation is not an act of God, that inflation is not a catastrophe of the elements or a disease that comes like the plague,” Mises famously explained. “Inflation is a policy.”

The primary cause of today’s inflation is the decision by the Federal Reserve, America’s central bank which controls the US dollar, to create trillions of new dollars out of thin air to ostensibly “stimulate” the economy during the pandemic.

Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell openly admitted as much in an interview with CBS.

“[Is it] fair to say you simply flooded the system with money?” a reporter asked.

“Yes,” he responded. “We did. That’s another way to think about it. We did.”

“Where does it come from? Do you just print it?” the journalist followed up.

“We print it digitally,” Powell replied. “So as a central bank, we have the ability to create money digitally… that actually increases the money supply. We also print actual currency and we distribute that through the Federal Reserve banks.”

To understand what “flooding the system with money” looked like, just consider the following graph of the money supply—and how dramatically it soared at the start of 2020.

CLICK HERE TO VIEW MONEY SUPPLY GRAPH

How does increasing the amount of money out there lead to higher prices?

As FEE economist Peter Jacobsen has explained, “If more dollars chase the exact same goods, prices will rise.”

We’re watching this Econ 101 lesson play out before our eyes. And it’s a painful lesson indeed for the millions of American families that have hundreds more out of their monthly budgets just to tread water. Here’s hoping our policymakers learn from their mistakes before it even gets worse.

Clinton Campaign Paid Techs to ‘infiltrate’ Trump’s Home and White House Servers to link Trump to Russia

The biggest news story in the world – how much coverage is the treasonous media giving it?

Filings from Special Counsel John Durham this week allege the 2016 Hillary Clinton campaign was working to establish a “narrative” linking the Trump campaign to a Russian bank, in an alleged gambit one expert said was an effort to “infiltrate” Trump servers to that end.

Clinton campaign paid to ‘infiltrate’ Trump Tower, White House servers to link Trump to Russia: Durham

First on Fox: Lawyers for the Clinton campaign paid a technology company to “infiltrate” servers belonging to Trump Tower, and later the White House, in order to establish an “inference” and “narrative” to bring to government agencies linking Donald Trump to Russia, a filing from Special Counsel John Durham says.

Durham filed a motion on Feb. 11 focused on potential conflicts of interest related to the representation of former Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann, who has been charged with making a false statement to a federal agent. Sussmann has pleaded not guilty.

The indictment against Sussmann, says he told then-FBI General Counsel James Baker in September 2016, less than two months before the 2016 presidential election, that he was not doing work “for any client” when he requested and held a meeting in which he presented “purported data and ‘white papers’ that allegedly demonstrated a covert communications channel” between the Trump Organization and Alfa Bank, which has ties to the Kremlin.

The allegations, first reported on by Fox News on Saturday, are another layer to the densely, multifaceted Durham investigation into the origins of the Trump-Russia conspiracy theory, one that has continued long after Trump left office and that continues to produce fresh controversies on a regular basis.

Watergate was a nothing burger, a device which Democrats used to oust a sitting (Republican) President. This is high treason.

Trump demands prosecutions, reparations after explosive revelations in Durham court filing

“This is a scandal far greater in scope and magnitude than Watergate,” the former president says.

By John Solomon, Just The News, February 12, 2022:

Former President Donald Trump demanded Saturday that there be prosecutions and reparations after Special Counsel John Durham revealed in an explosive court filing that Hillary Clinton’s campaign plotted to infiltrate the Trump campaign and White House computer servers years ago to concoct false Russia collusion allegations.

Durham’s latest court filing “provides indisputable evidence that my campaign and presidency were spied on by operatives paid by the Hillary Clinton Campaign in an effort to develop a completely fabricated connection to Russia,” Trump said.

“This is a scandal far greater in scope and magnitude than Watergate and those who were involved in and knew about this spying operation should be subject to criminal prosecution,” he added. “In a stronger period of time in our country, this crime would have been punishable by death. In addition, reparations should be paid to those in our country who have been damaged by this.”

Durham’s court filing said lawyers for the Clinton campaign paid a technology company to “infiltrate” servers belonging to Trump Tower and the Trump White House to create an “inference” of Russia collusion in 2016-17, hoping to get federal agencies to investigate.

Killing Civilization: They’re Teaching Schoolkids ‘the Narrative’

For quite some years now, the term “narrative” has been common in political circles. It generally has a negative connotation as it’s used to reference a story line — an often largely fictional one — advanced by some ideologically driven entity for political gain.

This is why I saw a red flag Friday when, while writing an article on how leftist indoctrination permeates even conservative states’ schools, I read a line about what a common modern pedagogy dictates was necessary to be a “culturally responsive educator” (read: an educator responsible for cultural revolution). Two prerequisites for it, related the Federalist, are “the rejection of colorblindness and replacing instruction about facts with narrative stories.”

Now, the narrative-story technique can be very powerful and is often used in journalism. For example, a writer may open a piece with a tale about some person whose experiences relate to the article’s topic. A variation on this is to detail and portray sympathetically an individual whose plight, or what you characterize as such, serves as an anecdote in support of a policy the author is advocating, either explicitly or implicitly.

I don’t tend toward this technique myself. Instinctively I’ve always been a straightforward person; if I believe something is true and should be embraced, my default is to say so and explain logically why (I’m very male, in other words!). Moreover, I’d certainly agree with the paraphrase of history scholar Henry Thomas Buckle that goes, “Great minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events, small minds discuss people.” Tales are mainly about people and events.

This said, I have on occasion used the narrative-story method, and it can be a legitimate tool. After all, as I may lament as I inform people I’m an alien, the humans aren’t Mr. Spocks — Vulcans operating entirely on logic. They’re emotional beings, which is why the most effective arguments incorporate not just logos and ethos, but also pathos, an appeal to emotion. It’s as when wooing a woman: We speak of capturing her heart, not her head.

Yet the woman is blessed if the man winning her heart is a knight in shining armor, not a charming devil, and she may not well be able to tell the difference because her passions have been engaged; she’s almost assuredly not analyzing matters logically. Related to this, the narrative-story technique is only legitimate in one situation: When harnessing the emotions in service to that knight in shining armor of ideas — Truth.

Tragically, however, the method is perhaps more often used to seduce people into accepting that devil of ideas called a lie. It’s a favored trick of demagogues because, since lies (theirs included) can’t be backed up with reason, it’s virtually the only arrow in their quiver. But, my, is this anti-Cupid ever good at hitting the heart.

For example, ask the average person — and in particular, most any liberal — how many unarmed black suspects are killed by police yearly. He virtually always won’t know, but will also often think he has a pretty good idea: Hundreds and perhaps thousands.

The real number is approximately 12 to 23, depending on the year.

Of course, the more naive could ask why people are so deluded on this matter. The media report on the police shootings of blacks incessantly, and any honest examination of the topic would have to put that perspective-lending statistic front and center.

It’s the result of deceivers “replacing instruction about facts with narrative stories.” The facts here reveal that there is no story. So the media simply withhold the facts and lean on the narrative, which through repetition makes people believe the facts are what they aren’t. Thus do we ever hear about the latest police shooting of a black suspect while the more common killing of white suspects is ignored.

Another term for a narrative-story is “anecdote,” and anecdotes are by definition anecdotal. And it is precisely because they can be true yet deceptive, as they may be unrepresentative of general phenomena, that they’re used by propagandists to manipulate public opinion.

This is why a resolution to favor narratives over facts in education should enrage us. Implicit in this is the admission that the facts would refute the narrative, and this is why leftist educators hate them: Facts are pieces of the jigsaw puzzle of reality. And reality is demagogues’ mortal enemy.

What’s so tragic here is that while children are easily manipulated with lies, they’re also very receptive to Truth because they don’t yet have ingrained political biases that cause them to run information through an ideological filter. Facts really can hit home with them.

Any teacher who’d subordinate facts to narratives should immediately be ousted from education, no further questions asked. For the person is at best fatally corrupted, at worst a conscious corruptor and, either way, will be a child abuser in the classroom.

Biden Administration Urges Court Not to Allow Release of ‘Secret Report’ on Dominion Voting Machines

Hmmm …. I wonder why.

Biden Administration Urges Court Not to Allow Release of ‘Secret Report’ on Dominion Voting Machines

By Zachary Zeiber, Epoch Times, February 13, 2022:

Top officials at a U.S. federal cybersecurity agency are urging a judge not to authorize at this time the release of a report that analyzes Dominion Voting Systems equipment in Georgia, arguing doing so could assist hackers trying to “undermine election security.”

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) was recently provided an unredacted copy of the report, which was prepared by J. Alex Halderman, director of the University of Michigan Center for Computer Security and Society.

The report discusses “potential vulnerabilities in Dominion ImageCast X ballot marking devices,” or electronic voting devices, according to the government.

While CISA supports public disclosure of any vulnerabilities and associated mitigation measures with election equipment, allowing the release of the report at this point “increases the risk that malicious actors may be able to exploit any vulnerabilities and threaten election security,” government lawyers said in a Feb. 10 filing in the case.

The case was brought in 2017 by good-government groups and voters who say the lack of paper ballots undermines the voting process.

U.S. District Judge Amy Totenberg, an Obama nominee overseeing the case, was urged by CISA to reject attempts to release a redacted version of Halderman’s report for now.

CISA officials want to review the information in the report and help Dominion resolve the vulnerabilities identified before the report is released. They said they weren’t able to provide a date by which they’ll be finished.

Totenberg must weigh the request against the wishes of Georgia Secretary State Brad Raffensperger, a Republican and one of the defendants, who called in late January for the release to happen immediately.

John Poulos, Dominion’s CEO and president, said in a statement released by Raffensperger’s office that Halderman’s review lacked “a holistic approach,” adding that Dominion “supports all efforts to bring real facts and evidence forward to defend the integrity of our machines and the credibility of Georgia’s elections.”

Plaintiffs, including the Coalition for Good Governance, also support the release of the report, David Cross, one of their lawyers, confirmed to The Epoch Times.

The plaintiffs said in a filing before a copy was sent to CISA that the agency should get a copy and begin its evaluation process, but that the evaluation “should not unreasonably delay the public disclosure of the report, which must be promptly disclosed to Georgia state and county election officials, and filed on the public docket, so that public officials can secure the upcoming May primary elections.”

They asked Totenberg to order them to file a redacted version of the report on the docket, which would make it accessible to the public, no later than March 4.

DHS Issues National Terrorism Advisory System (NTAS) Bulletin

Foreword by Fred Brownbill. This blog is VERY IMPORTANT if you still think we have free speech in this nation. Read the specifics here and in part 2. If you question the election results-terrorist. Question 5G-terrorist. I understand that this one is longer to read but take the time and read it from top to bottom. Links to both parts are at the bottom of the blog. Please share. Remember Facebook has a habit of removing truth.

National Terrorism Advisory System (NTAS) Bulletin

Release Date: February 7, 2022

WASHINGTON – Today, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas issued a National Terrorism Advisory System (NTAS) Bulletin regarding the continued heightened threat environment across the United States. This is the fifth NTAS Bulletin issued by the Department of Homeland Security since January 2021 and it replaces the current Bulletin that was set to expire tomorrow.

“DHS remains committed to proactively sharing timely information and intelligence about the evolving threat environment with the American public,” said Secretary Alejandro N. Mayorkas. “We also remain committed to working with our partners across every level of government and in the private sector to prevent all forms of terrorism and targeted violence, and to support law enforcement efforts to keep our communities safe. This NTAS Bulletin outlines the key factors that have increased the volatility, unpredictability, and complexity of the current threat environment, and highlights resources for individuals and communities to stay safe.”

The United States remains in a heightened threat environment fueled by several factors, including an online environment filled with false or misleading narratives and conspiracy theories, and other forms of mis- dis- and mal-information (MDM) introduced and/or amplified by foreign and domestic threat actors. These threat actors seek to exacerbate societal friction to sow discord and undermine public trust in government institutions to encourage unrest, which could potentially inspire acts of violence. Mass casualty attacks and other acts of targeted violence conducted by lone offenders and small groups acting in furtherance of ideological beliefs and/or personal grievances pose an ongoing threat to the nation.

While the conditions underlying the heightened threat landscape have not significantly changed over the last year, the convergence of the following factors has increased the volatility, unpredictability, and complexity of the threat environment: (1) the proliferation of false or misleading narratives, which sow discord or undermine public trust in U.S. government institutions; (2) continued calls for violence directed at U.S. critical infrastructure; soft targets and mass gatherings; faith-based institutions, such as churches, synagogues, and mosques; institutions of higher education; racial and religious minorities; government facilities and personnel, including law enforcement and the military; the media; and perceived ideological opponents; and (3) calls by foreign terrorist organizations for attacks on the United States based on recent events.

DHS and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) continue to share timely and actionable information and intelligence with the broadest audience possible. This includes sharing information and intelligence with our partners across every level of government and in the private sector. Under the Biden-Harris Administration, DHS is prioritizing combating all forms of terrorism and targeted violence, including through its efforts to support the first-ever National Strategy for Countering Domestic Terrorism. Since January 2021, DHS has taken several steps in this regard, including:

  • established a new domestic terrorism branch within DHS’s Office of Intelligence and Analysis dedicated to producing sound, timely intelligence needed to counter domestic terrorism-related threats;
  • launched the Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships (CP3) to provide communities with resources and tools to help prevent individuals from radicalizing to violence;
  • designated domestic violent extremism as a “National Priority Area” within DHS’s Homeland Security Grant Program for the first time, resulting in at least $77 million being spent on preventing, preparing for, protecting against, and responding to related threats nationwide;
  • provided $180 million in funding to support target hardening and other physical security enhancements to non-profit organizations at high risk of terrorist attack through DHS’s Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP);
  • increased efforts to identify and evaluate MDM, including false or misleading narratives and conspiracy theories spread on social media and other online platforms, that endorse violence; and,
  • enhanced collaboration with public and private sector partners – including U.S. critical infrastructure owners and operators – to better protect our cyber and physical infrastructure and increase the Nation’s cybersecurity through the Department’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).

DHS also has renewed its commitment to ensure that all efforts to combat domestic violent extremism are conducted in ways consistent with privacy protections, civil rights and civil liberties, and all applicable laws.

This NTAS Bulletin will expire on June 7, 2022. This NTAS Bulletin provides the public with information about the threat landscape facing the United States, how to stay safe, and resources and tools to help prevent an individual’s radicalization to violence. The public should report any suspicious activity or threats of violence to local law enforcement,FBI Field Offices, or a local Fusion Center. Read the current NTAS Bulletin here.

PART II.

Additional Details

The primary terrorism-related threat to the United States continues to stem from lone offenders or small cells of individuals who are motivated by a range of foreign and/or domestic grievances often cultivated through the consumption of certain online content. The convergence of violent extremist ideologies, false or misleading narratives, and conspiracy theories have and will continue to contribute to a heightened threat of violence in the United States.

Key factors contributing to the current heightened threat environment include:

  1. The proliferation of false or misleading narratives, which sow discord or undermine public trust in U.S. government institutions:
    • For example, there is widespread online proliferation of false or misleading narratives regarding unsubstantiated widespread election fraud and COVID-19. Grievances associated with these themes inspired violent extremist attacks during 2021.
    • Malign foreign powers have and continue to amplify these false or misleading narratives in efforts to damage the United States.
  2. Continued calls for violence directed at U.S. critical infrastructure; soft targets and mass gatherings; faith-based institutions, such as churches, synagogues, and mosques; institutions of higher education; racial and religious minorities; government facilities and personnel, including law enforcement and the military; the media; and perceived ideological opponents:
    • Foreign terrorist organizations and domestic threat actors continue to amplify pre-existing false or misleading narratives online to sow discord and undermine public trust in government institutions. Some of these actors do so to encourage unrest, which could lead to acts of violence against the facilities, individuals, institutions, and organizations cited above.
    • Violent extremists inspired by a range of grievances and ideologies continue to target crowded venues traditionally perceived to be soft targets, such as commercial and publicly accessible facilities, public gatherings, certain government and state facilities, and houses of worship.
    • The recent attack on a synagogue in Colleyville, Texas highlights the continuing threat of violence based upon racial or religious motivations, as well as threats against faith-based organizations.
    • Threats directed at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and other colleges and universities, Jewish facilities, and churches cause concern and may inspire extremist threat actors to mobilize to violence.
    • As COVID-19 restrictions continue to decrease nationwide, increased access to commercial and government facilities and the rising number of mass gatherings could provide increased opportunities for individuals looking to commit acts of violence to do so, often with little or no warning. Meanwhile, COVID-19 mitigation measures—particularly COVID-19 vaccine and mask mandates—have been used by domestic violent extremists to justify violence since 2020 and could continue to inspire these extremists to target government, healthcare, and academic institutions that they associate with those measures.
    • Domestic violent extremists have also viewed attacks against U.S. critical infrastructure as a means to create chaos and advance ideological goals, and have recently aspired to disrupt U.S. electricand communications critical infrastructure, including by spreading false or misleading narratives about 5G cellular technology.
    • Some domestic violent extremists have continued to advocate for violence in response to false or misleading narratives about unsubstantiated election fraud. The months preceding the upcoming 2022 midterm elections could provide additional opportunities for these extremists and other individuals to call for violence directed at democratic institutions, political candidates, party offices, election events, and election workers.
    • A small number of threat actors are attempting to use the evacuation and resettlement of Afghan nationals following the U.S. military withdrawal from Afghanistan last year as a means to exacerbate long-standing grievances and justify attacks against immigrants.
  3. Calls by foreign terrorist organizations for attacks on the United States based on recent events:
    • Foreign terrorist organizations will likely continue to maintain a highly visible online presence to attempt to inspire U.S.-based individuals to engage in violent activity.
    • Supporters of foreign terrorist organizations have encouraged copycat attacks following the January 15, 2022 attack on a synagogue in Colleyville, Texas.
    • Foreign terrorists remain intent on targeting the United States and U.S. persons, and may seek to capitalize on the evolving security environment overseas to plot attacks. The Islamic State of Iraq and ash-Sham (ISIS) or its affiliates may issue public calls for retaliation due to the strike that recently killed ISIS leader Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi.

How We Are Responding

  • DHS and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) continue to share timely and actionable information and intelligence with the broadest audience possible. This includes sharing information and intelligence with our partners across every level of government and in the private sector. We conduct recurring threat briefings with private sector and state, local, tribal, territorial, and campus partners, including to inform security planning efforts. DHS remains committed to working with our partners to identify and prevent all forms of terrorism and targeted violence, and to support law enforcement efforts to keep our communities safe.
  • DHS’s Office of Intelligence and Analysisestablished a new, dedicated domestic terrorism branch to produce the sound, timely intelligence needed to counter related threats. The Department expanded its evaluation of online activity as part of its efforts to assess and prevent acts of violence, while ensuring the protection of privacy, civil rights, and civil liberties.
  • DHS’s Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships (CP3) provides communities with resources and tools to help prevent individuals from radicalizing to violence. In 2021, CP3 awarded about $20 million in grants through its Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention Grant Program. CP3 also partners with local communities to raise awareness about how to prevent violence.
  • In 2021, DHS designated domestic violent extremism as a “National Priority Area” within its Homeland Security Grant Program HSGP), resulting in at least $77 million being spent on preventing, preparing for, protecting against, and responding to related threats.
  • In 2021, DHS’s Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) provided $180 million in funding to support target hardening and other physical security enhancements to non-profit organizations at high risk of terrorist attack.
  • DHS is working with public and private sector partners, as well as foreign counterparts, to identify and evaluate MDM, including false or misleading narratives and conspiracy theories spread on social media and other online platforms that endorse or could inspire violence.
  • DHS’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) works with public and private sector partners – including U.S. critical infrastructure owners and operators – to mitigate risk against our cyber and physical infrastructure and increase nationwide cybersecurity resilience.

URGENT: New Research Turns Up Yet More mRNA Vaccine Dangers

URGENT: New research turns up yet more potential mRNA vaccine dangers

A preprint in Cell finds vaccine-driven original antigenic sin is deeply powerful. Also: vaccine-generated spike protein circulates in the blood and vaccine mRNA persists for months in lymph nodes

mRNA from the Pfizer and Moderna shots can be found in lymph nodes for at least 60 days after injection.

By: Alex Berenson, February 11, 2022:

Free-floating spike proteins circulate at high levels in the blood after vaccination.

Vaccinated people infected with variants of Sars-Cov-2 produce antibodies biased toward the original and now extinct variant – rather than the one that has actually infected them.

Conspiracy theories from Dr. Kennedy-Mercola’s We Hate Vaxxxines Digest?

No.

Findings from a preprint in Cell, among the world’s leading scientific journals. Almost 50 researchers worldwide collaborated on the work, which Cell released online two weeks ago.

The preprint has received little attention, possibly because it discusses the potential implications of its findings only obliquely. In discussing the fact that the mRNA hamper the immune response to new variants, the researchers offer extra doses as a potential solution, for example:

Additional booster doses may be able to compensate for relatively decreased binding to new viral variant antigens, potentially decreasing the public health impact of antibody response imprinting.

Nonetheless, the preprint’s findings destroy comforting fictions about the mRNA shots, including that the body quickly destroys the genetic material in the jabs – as Reuters and other “fact-checkers” have long insisted.

In fact, researchers found vaccine mRNA in the germinal centers of lymph nodes for 60 days after the shots (as long as they checked).

The germinal centers play a crucial role in the immune system, where B-cells – which help produce long-term immunity – mature and learn to make antibodies to infection more efficiently.

The researchers also reported finding vaccine mRNA outside the germinal centers, though rarely.

The mRNA shots cause the body to make huge amounts of spike protein. Vaccine advocates have generally argued that those proteins remain bound to the cells where they were produced.

But the researchers also said they had found spike protein in the blood following mRNA shots at levels as high as those produced by coronavirus infection itself:

At least some portion of spike antigen generated after administration of BNT162b2 becomes distributed into the blood. We detected spike antigen in 96% of vaccinees in plasma collected one to two days after the prime injection, with antigen levels reaching as high as 174 pg/mL. The range of spike antigen concentrations in the blood of vaccinees at this early time point largely overlaps with the range of spike antigen concentrations reported in plasma in a study of acute infection.

Aside from that, everything is fine and we have nothing to worry about.

Freedom Convoy Goes Global

FreedomConvoy USA “We have a right to resist and we have an obligation and duty to do so!”

This is the greatest gift America gave to the world. Freedom. We may be crippled now, under siege by a fraudulent regime that stole the election but the rest of the world has taken on the mantle of freedom.

Fight fascism. Now is the time.

Police fired tear gas at demonstrators on the Champs-Élysées avenue in Paris on Saturday shortly after a “Freedom Convoy” protesting against Covid-19 restrictions made it into the French capital.

Cars carrying protesters managed to get through police blockades in central Paris to snarl traffic around the Arc de Triomphe monument.

Reporting from the Champs-Élysées, FRANCE 24’s Catherine Norris-Trent said the situation turned tense shortly after lunchtime. “There are numerous police vehicles here and cars from the so-called “Freedom Convoy” – protesters who, despite the ban, have driven into Paris and they’re blocking this roundabout. Police have been trying to clear them out, they’ve been asking people to clear the scene and there have been scuffles here,” she said.

Dear New York Times Editor Dean Baquet: Why Such Negativity!

Good day Dean “Deano” Baquet,

I hope today finds you well, at your desk as the Executive Editor of the acclaimed New York Times.  We haven’t spoken in a while, so I thought we could touch on a few of Joey’s and his stellar administration’s recent accomplishments.  Frankly, it is tough to keep up with this administration and all they do, day in and day out.  As usual, your New York Times is at the forefront with its always unbiased, apolitical reporting.  I will regretfully have to include the opinions and factual reporting of those on the radical right.

Inflation, What Inflation?

It seems Joey, and the effervescent Jenny Psaki have been touting wage gains for 2021.  It came in at a very commendable 4.7%.  They have been repeating this fact over and over.  What is it that the radical right doesn’t get, Deano old sport?

Well, here is what Conservatives have been saying: what good is a wage gain of 4.7%, when the inflation rate came in at 7%.  Using elementary math, that is a net loss of 2.3% in purchasing power.  I can’t for the life of me understand why Goebbels protégé, Little Red Lying Hood, never mentions this minor detail.  Oh, by the way, that number has increased to 7.5% as of February 2022.  I think little Joey is confused, you want the number to get smaller, not higher…oh, that Joey.

Well hold on now, let’s be fair and hear what Joey Bidenflation has to say on the matter.  When asked by Lester Holt recently, “Mr. installed POTUS, when you said back in July of 2021 that inflation was temporary, the American people (who you work for) want to know what your definition of temporary is?”  The always diplomatic and charismatic Joey said, “well, you’re being a wise guy with me a little bit.”  Very Presidential like wouldn’t you agree, Deano?  Well, at least he didn’t call him, “a stupid son of a bit**.”  So, I guess we can consider that progress.  Conservatives point out that he should use this new found tough guy persona when he talks to Putin and Xi Jinping, instead of the trained lap dog which he now portrays.

Some Minor Details

The right projects such negativity, maybe this is why. As far as facts go (As per Fortune Magazine, for 2021):

  • gasoline, up 49.6%
  • heating oil, up 41%
  • -used cars, up 37.3%
  • natural gas, up 24.1%
  • new cars, up 11.8%
  • food, up 6.3%
  • Etc., etc., etc.

Well, you get the picture, I think there is only one thing we can summarize by all these numbers…………yep, President Trump is a racist!

Let’s not forget that number has increased again in the approximately 6 weeks of 2022, to 7.5% y/y inflation.  At this rate multimillionaire Nancy Pelosi, will have to cut down on her gourmet ice cream purchases.  Thank goodness her husband has the uncanny ability to time his stock trades just right, he is simply amazing, almost like he has insider information. I would hate to hear Ole Nancy not getting her fill of Chunky Monkey. I would have thought that Rum Raisin would have been the old girls favorite.

Masks Aren’t Needed……..Sometimes

Well Deano, it looks like some of the deep blue states are lifting mask restrictions.  This is on the heels of the infamous Stacey Abrams picture: where she is pictured maskless, while surrounded by mask wearing elementary students (extremely contagious carriers of covid).

Her spokesperson gave quite a few reasons for this, let’s look at some of them.

  • she did have her mask on.  Ah, maybe there was someone else who look’s exactly like Stacey in the school that day. Not very likely, eh Deano?
  • that she only took it off for a second to eat or drink something.  Consensus is that she may use more than a couple of seconds for that activity.
  • that this was a racial smear campaign during black history month to besmirch this tremendous leader of the far left liberal party, “a false political attack,” they say.  Hey, ya never know, maybe elected President Trump was behind the camera.

Maybe she was holding her breath during all these photos like the Mayor of Los Angeles, said he did, when he was at the Rams-49er’s game pictured maskless with Magic Johnson and Governor Newsom, repeatedly I might add.  Man, that guy must have been holding his breath all day.  Maybe Stacey and him are deep sea snorkelers or something with great lung capacity.  I don’t picture Stacey underwater, with the wet suit and spear gun, but that is me.

Stacey Shows Integrity

Then, finally Stacey owned up to it and apologized for lashing out against the science and going maskless.  See, what a great example for the children: when caught doing something wrong, try every possible way to deny it or lie and when all else fails, then own up to it.  Yes, a fantastic example.  Conservatives say it is right out of the playbook of the Vegetable-In-Chief, except little Joey never owns up to the truth in the end.  He just turns around and runs away, or calls you “a stupid son of a bit**”, or they cut his live feed off, or they manhandle the screaming press away from him, or he just feebly smiles and stares straight ahead…….sort of like someone’s  poor old Grandpa residing in a nursing home.

Barack Hussein Maskless?

Even, Barry Soetoro/Barack Hussein got involved with the mask controversy.  He was seen recently in Hawaii overseeing the construction of his mansion (not to be confused with his Washington or Martha’s Vineyard mansions).  He was photographed maskless as he was surrounded by mask wearing contractors.  He did not look happy at all, word is they got the wrong cut of marble for the master bath delivered from Italy.  I can understand his dismay, stuff like that drives me crazy.  But still Barack Hussein, you have to remember, THE SCIENCE!  I mean, what if there was a nursery school child running around maskless there, your life could have been in mortal danger.  Respect the science Barry.

Heels Up To The Rescue

Well Deano, things are getting very tense over there at the Ukraine border, very tense indeed.  Personally I’m not worried at all with Joey Talibiden at the helm.  Of course you can’t discount his all-star staff including General “I’ll give the enemy a heads up if we’re on the way” Milley.  Or Secretary of Defense Austin, or Secretary of State Blinkin, those great military minds who orchestrated the highly successful evacuation from Afghanistan.  These men alone should instill great confidence, but alas Joey has called in the big guns, yep Heels-Up Harris is now on the case.

After all her accomplishments on the Southern border, it is a no-brainer that she be put in charge of this mighty assignment.  Don’t you remember that commanding speech of hers, 100’s of miles away from the actual Southern Border.  What was it again, oh yeah, “Don’t come, Don’t come.”  It still gives me shivers, the same impact as a FDR, MLK, JFK or even a FJB (teleprompter) rousing speech, wouldn’t you agree Deano?  I mean ONE visit to the Southern border for approximately 40 minutes, before jetting to her affluent enclave in Brentwood California, in 13 months; what else do you want Conservative’s?  The woman is not a machine.  On a positive note, look at all the bakery’s she can sample pastries at between Brentwood California and the Ukraine border; see win, win.

Can Ya Spare a Room

It seems like those great innovators of California have come up with a great strategy to combat the homeless problem plaguing them.  The Mayor of Richmond, California, a town about 20 miles from Nancy Pelosi and Adam (impeachment expert) Schiff’s San Francisco.  Well Deano, he has come up with what I think is a fantastic idea.  Those with spare rooms in their house should offer them up to the homeless.  Why did it take so long for someone to come up with this trailblazing idea?  Just look at the benefits, if you’re a working parent, you now have live in child care.  You could come home to a home cooked meal every night by your new houseguest, perhaps share a can of beans and beef jerky.  Someone who can clean your house, sans the occasional syringe or crack pipe.  Hey speaking of crack pipes, Conservatives are asking if the Mayor got into one of Brandon’s $30,000,000 safe smoking kits , with this asinine idea.  No word if Hunter (famous artist) is eligible for the program, he is currently busy painting $500,000 pieces of artwork for …undisclosed buyers (there is that transparency thing little Joey is always talking about).

Any Rooms Available Deano?

I’m just curious Deano, will you be opening any of your spare rooms to the homeless?  I mean you’re not too far away in your toney affluent, highly non-diverse enclave in Larchmont, California.  I know your paper Pravda, sorry I mean The NY Times, often spotlights the homeless and the downtrodden.  I think this would be a great opportunity for you to back up the cause with the grand jester of opening your estate to the homeless.

Think of the ripple effect it could have.  Chardonnay Pelosi could open up her palatial estate to some of these individuals.  Word is she does get a little territorial with her $14 pints of gourmet ice cream and her extensive wine collection.  Hey maybe she could put Lt. Byrd, who murdered unarmed veteran Ashli Babbitt, in charge of security at the Pelosi estate.  Provided he doesn’t leave his gun unattended in the bathroom again, that silly goose.

Then we could move this idea onto the Clinton’s, Obama’s (he will soon have 3 mansions to house them), Schumer’s , Nadler’s, Cuomo’s (sorry, I think he is back in his 90 year old Mother’s basement), AOC’s, (she could pick up some more bartending gigs, while they do her housework), Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep (Harvey Weinstein, Roman Polanski fan), Lebron (what genocide in China?), Bruce, Leo DiCaprio (climate activists, unless flying around in private jets with models 30 years his junior), you see, the list is endless.

Well, that’s it for now Deano.  I hope to have more for you relatively soon.  I would like to discuss the article your “newspaper” ran a few weeks ago.  You seemed concerned with the amount of Republicans that are running for Secretary of State in vulnerable swing states. Your major concern is election integrity …….I’m sorry, I had to grab a tissue to wipe tears running down my cheeks …from laughing, that is.  Yep, we have to keep the integrity in check in those swing states, you know just like 2020.

I also want to touch base with you soon in regards to the new Mayor of New York, Eric Adams.  It seems a video has surfaced with him referring to white police officers as “Crackers.” I’d like to hear your opinion.  President Trump is a racist!

Astonishing, there was no mention of this video in your esteemed tabloid.  I did have a series of rather lively exchanges with one of your compensated Op-Ed contributors.  Ah, we’ll discuss that next time Deano, old sport.  For now, keep on “printing the news that’s fit to print.”  Your integrity to your profession abounds.

Sincerely,

Chris Cirino

Governor Ron DeSantis on Opposing Critical Race Theory: We Must Stop Teaching Kids to Hate Our Country

At a roundtable discussion in Miami on the border crisis, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) explained briefly why he adamantly opposes the racist ideological indoctrination of Critical Race Theory (CRT), stating that his goal is to have every child in the state know that they are a “Floridian and an American.”

“One of the reasons we’re opposing CRT in schools: We want all the kids treated as individuals. We want them judged on the content of their character, on their talents,” he explained. “We don’t want them separated into racial groups and pitted against each other. Every single kid is a Floridian and an American. and that’s what we want to make sure.”

“And we’ve got to stop dividing people. We’ve got to stop teaching our kids to hate our country, so that’s our mission, and we’re going to make sure we get that done this legislative session,” he vowed.

DeSantis spoke about Florida’s stance against CRT during his State of the State address earlier this year, touting the Parents’ Bill of Rights, which “provides parental rights relating to a minor child’s education, upbringing, & health care.”

“We reject the notion that parents shouldn’t have a say in what their kids learn in school. Indeed, Florida law should provide parents with the right to review the curriculum used in their children’s schools,” he asserted. “We should provide parents with recourse so that state standards are enforced, such as Florida’s prohibition on infusing subjects with critical race theory in our classrooms… Our tax dollars should not be used to teach our kids to hate our country or to hate each other.”

Critical Race Theory

8 Known Connections

Critical race theory (CRT) holds that because racism is so deeply ingrained in the American character, classical liberal ideals such as meritocracy, equal opportunity, and colorblind justice are essentially nothing more than empty slogans that fail to properly combat—or to even acknowledge the existence of—the immense structural inequities that pervade American society and work against black people. Thus, according to critical race theorists, racial preferences (favoring blacks) in employment and higher education are not only permissible but necessary as a means of countering the permanent bigotry of white people who, as CRT’s founder Derrick Bell put it, seek to “achieve a measure of social stability through their unspoken pact to keep blacks on the bottom.”

The 3 Greatest Economic Threats Facing America in 2022 [and Beyond]

An academic and an entrepreneur outline three of the most problematic issues of 2022.

As 2022 unfolds, there’s much concern regarding the US economy and our geopolitical standing. According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the United States was once again the world’s largest economy in 2021, producing an estimated $22.94 trillion or 24.4 percent of global GDP. The number is especially impressive given the population of the US. at just over 333 million people, which is a per capita GDP of roughly $68,700, among the highest in the world.

However, we are concerned with the size, growth, and state of the US economy when comparing its transition from 1960 to date. In 1960, the US produced $543 billion in GDP, or just under 40 percent of the world’s $1.367 trillion global economy. When adding Canada and Mexico, North American GDP totaled $597.42 billion or 43.7 percent of the world’s GDP. In comparison, China in 1960 produced a GDP of $59.72 billion or 4.39 percent of global GDP.

Today, North America comprises only 27.9 percent of global GDP while China, now a country of 1.445 billion people, generates a GDP worth $16.86 trillion (17.8 percent). Including India, Japan, South Korea and all of Asia, total 2021 Asian GDP was 33.7 percent of the $94 trillion global economy. Clearly, North America has been outpaced by Asia since 1960.

While the reasons US competitiveness has declined since 1960 are many, we’ll focus on three of the issues that have been the most problematic, and if not remedied, will continue to be for decades to come.

The month of December saw US consumer price inflation at 7 percent on an annualized basis and the Producer Price Index up a record 9.7 percent on the year. As 2022 begins, many experts predict food inflation will increase 5 percent for the year. US holiday sales were partially fueled by stimulus checks and the child tax care credit that will no longer exist in 2022, thus presenting a potential major decline in retail sales in Q1 2022, but not necessarily accompanied by lower prices.

In addition to food inflation, we expect a high level of wage inflation across all labor markets in 2022. There is a clear shortage of labor in the United States, as evidenced by rising wages in 2021 for jobs from truck drivers to airline employees and $180,000 bonuses for many Apple employees. Perhaps the telltale sign of higher wages to come in 2022 is that the US unemployment rate has declined to 3.9 percent with 6.3 million Americans unemployed, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, and roughly 11 million job openings available. We believe the US chip shortage will improve in 2022 but remain an economic factor through early 2023, continuing to put upward price pressure on automobiles and electronic devices.

Our preliminary estimate for inflation in 2022 is 8 percent as inflation indicators like the 10-year Treasury Bond Yield, gold and oil are up in January. We believe, as did Nobel laureate Milton Friedman, that inflation is caused by government monetary policy. The Federal Reserve, through its open-market operations, must eliminate its years of quantitative easing by tightening the US money supply to bring inflation under control before it becomes an even larger and more difficult problem.

The US federal government continues to threaten to break up America’s largest companies. Should it?

Consider: On Jan. 4, 2022, the stock market value of Apple was worth more than Walmart, Disney, Netflix, Nike, ExxonMobil, Comcast, Coca-Cola, Morgan Stanley, McDonald’s, ADT, Goldman Sachs, Boeing and IBM — COMBINED. For a brief period during the trading of Apple stock on Jan. 3, 2022, Apple’s market cap or stock value surpassed $3 trillion … marking the first time in the history of global stock markets a company achieved a value at or above $3 trillion. Is the fact that only a few stocks — Apple, Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Tesla, Meta, Nvidia — seem to control the size, scope, and fate of the S&P 500 a problem? Is the index concentration of the S&P 500 itself a risk for the market? Is it a problem that the seven largest mega cap stocks account for nearly a third of the entire S&P 500 market value? Or are these companies simply among America’s finest companies in the areas of invention, innovation, and entrepreneurial leadership setting the stage for growth and change within the economy, making them companies government should laud and encourage rather than break up?

Simply stated, the top seven S&P 500 Stocks outperformed the remaining members of the S&P 500 by 33 percent in 2021 because American consumers and consumers around the world felt they had more to offer and purchased their goods, services, and stocks at record levels. Apple alone represented roughly 7 percent of the S&P 500 estimated market value of $42.5 trillion on Jan. 3, 2022. This market share was due to many factors, including the millions of devices, such as phones, watches, and iPads in use around the globe and the broad range of entertainment provided by Apple streaming services.

For the most part, we believe the “magnificent seven” are evidence of the best and brightest ideas and minds business has to offer. It would be counter to the short- and long-term best interest of the US to break these companies up. It is outdated for US antitrust laws to only regulate a company’s size, scope, and influence in the US rather than globally. As noted earlier, America no longer dominates the global economy as we once did.

Still, US companies should compete without government protections, favors or subsidies, to promote successful entrepreneurial activity, improve lives, and safeguard America’s position as an economic powerhouse.

As the US national debt has grown over the last 50 years, interest on the national debt is now among the top 10 items in the annual US federal budget.

The national debt recently eclipsed $30 trillion, which is almost $90,000 per US man, woman, and child, and roughly $239,000 per taxpayer.

Today, the US national debt is 127.55 percent of today’s roughly $23.4 trillion GDP, up from 53.33 percent in 1960 and even higher when compared to 34.5 percent in 1980. In addition, the current debt figures do not include the more than $3.25 trillion in state and local government debt.

Much of our current national debt is due to excessive government spending on unnecessary items. If the massive spending continues into 2022 and beyond, U.S. credit ratings will decline, while adding trillions of dollars to an already unsustainable budget deficit.

In 205 years, from 1776 to 1981, the total US national debt went from $0 to $998 billion. With an accumulated national debt of less than $1 trillion over the first 205 years of American history and a debilitating additional $29 trillion since 1982, perhaps there are lessons for Congress to learn related to a.) budgeting; b.) public policy; and c.) Consensus building in Congress prior to 1982 — lessons that will help restore the American competitive, free enterprise system and enhance opportunities for an ever wider range of Americans and investors from abroad.

Company Contrast: Valentine’s Shopping Guide

February is upon us once again and that means shopping for that special someone in your life. Although it can feel overwhelming to find just the right gift, don’t let the moral  weight on your conscience hinder you from making an educated choice on where to shop this year. Let us take the guesswork out of the equation for you as we compare companies for flowers, jewelry and candy this Valentines Day season!

Flowers

The two most popular flower delivery companies are 1-800-flowers and ProFlowers (owned by FTD). Taking a look at 1-800-flowers (2.49), we came across a mixed batch of information. Leaning left, we find that since 2007, the company has directed nearly $200,000 in monetary funds and in-kind donations to support the work of GLAAD – the leading LGBTQ+ media advocacy organization (source). They do, however, offer discounts for military and service members through Veterans Advantage. They also demonstrate reasonably environmentally conscious actions by supporting responsible sourcing and reforestation practices and by  participating in various recycling programs. .

Pro Flowers (3.00) (owned by FTD) was also researched but very little information was available concerning their philanthropic support and monetary donations and as such, can only be expressed as a neutral organization until more information is made available.

An alternative to these two organizations is Bloomsy Box who supports a “farm-to-table” style of service while also advocating and partnering with over 48 family farms and small businesses. By working with specific certified farms they ensure that toxic chemicals are used and by eliminating the middleman mentality that typically exists in the flower business, they are able to reduce waste. To see what they have to offer, click here.

If you are interested in a directory of Veteran Owned florists while shopping locally, VeteranOwnedBusiness.com allows you to search for specific businesses for a variety of your shopping needs all while supporting Veterans! Jewelry

Signet Jewelers Limited (1.57– the parent company to big names like Kay Jewelers (3.00), Zales (3.00) and Jared The Galleria Of Jewelry (3.00) is a popular choice when it comes to jewelry shopping. It is not, however, a great choice if you want your retail support to go to organizations that support a conservative mindset. Just a few of the actions that caused us concern are listed below:

Included in their 2020 Sustainability Report:

  • Signet Jewelers Limited openly states the incorporation of “Unconscious Bias” training for all team members.
  • Signet Jewelers Limited discloses $100,000  donation to Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) organization to raise awareness and continue to support LGBTQ+ rights and activism.
  • Signet Jewelers Limited discloses $100,000 donation to NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund.
  • Signet Jewelers becomes a member of the Human Rights Campaign’s business coalition for the Equality Act – a national sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) accommodation mandate that would undermine 1st Amendment protections for religious liberty.
  •  Signet enhanced and expanded health-plan benefits for same sex domestic partners/spouses and expanded the parental leave policy to include parental leave for all genders.
  • In 2020, Signet donated $53,000 to United Way of Summit County as part of an annual giving campaign. Since 1997, Signet has donated more than $3.23 million from annual team member giving campaigns. United Way of Summit County supports Planned Parenthood through monetary donations typically ranging from $100,000 to $200,000 per year.

Of course we were able to locate a few good qualities from Signet. For example, they “led a community outreach drive to collect donations in partnership with Valor Home -, a housing program of Family & Community Services that offers supportive, therapeutic housing for homeless and at-risk veterans. Team members raised more than $2,000 and filled two truckloads of donated emergency supplies, which included winter coats, bed pillows, comforters, sheets, gas and grocery cards, and toiletry items.” Their subsidiary, Zales does offer a 10% discount to active duty military and veteran service members. But when comparing the pros with the cons, it is easy to say which way this large company tends to lean.

Another frequently used jewelry retailer is Tiffany & Co. (2.57) (owned by LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton. But, unfortunately, they aren’t much better when it comes to moral and ethical high ground.

To start, Tiffany & Co. scored a 100 on the 2021 Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index which is used as a national benchmarking tool on corporate policies, practices and benefits pertinent to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer employees. Just like Signet, Tiffany & Co. is also a member of the HRC’s business coalition for the Equality Act. To take it a step further, Alessandro Bogliolo was a signatory to the CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion pledge, which includes the incorporation of mandatory unconscious bias training for employees, which is linked to critical Race Theory (CRT).

Since 2000, the Tiffany and CO Foundation has awarded over $90 million in grants, with $4-$6 million in average annual grantmaking over the past several years seeking to preserve the world’s most treasured seascapes and landscapes. However, they do take a strong stand to support the Paris Climate agreement in their Sustainability statement  and by being a signatory of the We Are Still in Pledge. They do offer 10% to military and service members but I would hardly consider that a reason to have my business – especially considering the various other companies that offer the same, if not better, discount.

There are other jewelry options out there with ethically sourced diamonds and materials that are made in the U.S.A. and provide military discounts like Wonder Jewelers, Qalo and Blue Nile Jewelry. But if you want to take it a step further why not shop with those that are also Veteran owned that supports Veterans in need?

Sword & Plough (3.14is veteran owned or partially staffed by veterans. Owned by two sisters, one of which was an U.S. Army Captain who served in Afghanistan, this patriotic duo donates 10% of profits or 2% of revenue (whichever is greater) to veteran nonprofit organizations such as Got your 6, Team Red, White & Blue, Team rubicon and Pets for Vets. They also donated more than $45,000 worth of Sword & Plough products to veteran organizations and continue to partner with other veteran owned companies. They boast a conservative and valiant effort to reduce waste and minimize their carbon footprint by incorporating thousands of pounds of repurposed military surplus materials in our product line, manufacturing exclusively in the United States, and using recycled materials in our packaging. And as if you needed more of a reason to give them your business – they make more than just jewelry, offering handbags and other items for those who may not be big into jewelry. For more on Sword & Plough visit their website here.

Brass & Unity is another option if you are still looking for something a little different in the bling department. Also owned by a U.S. Veteran and Afghanistan deployed survivor, B&U donates 20% of net profits to help rehabilitate soldiers & First Responders. These funds go directly to mental health programs, prosthetic limbs, therapy/rehab programs, food/shelter/clothing for homeless Veterans, and many more – including help for their families. More on Brass & Unity can be found here.

Chocolates

Last, but definitely not least is my favorite part of Valentine’s Day – chocolate! Don’t bother with MARS or Hersheys this year – they both score poorly in most of our focus areas. You may be tempted to go looking for other frequently purchased brands Like Godiva and Lindt but let’s take a closer look just to be sure.

Godiva (3.00), owned by Turkish company Ulker, supports the Paris Climate Agreement. They have taken an active role in sustainability by  supporting the “A Breath for the Future” campaign of the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture & Forestry since 2019. In 2020, Ulker planted 31,000 trees in total, throughout Turkey and in the last six years, their water savings (through various water management practices) amounted to 360,000 tons – equivalent to the daily water consumption of approximately 2.5 million people. Of course, being a foreign based company, there is not much information outside of environmental efforts that is pertinent to those of us here in the United States.

Owned by Lindt & Sprüngli (3.00), we look at two other very popular candy companies – Russel Stover Okay (3.00) and Ghirardelli (3.00). Based out of Switzerland, but with headquarters here in the U.S. as well, Lindt also expresses support for the Paris Climate Agreement in their 2020 Sustainability Report, while still supporting a strong and ethical approach to sustainability, such as reforestation, conservative water management techniques and reducing C02 emissions. But being a company based outside of the U.S. makes it difficult to assess where they would stand on American issues.

For this section I have two fantastic suggestions for sweets made in the U.S.A. and Veteran owned.

Firstly, Extra Ordinary Delights Fudge , which is owned by Aaron Hale – a 14 year veteran, military chef and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (E.O.D) team leader. In December of 2011, after a traumatic injury from an unseen IED while serving in Afghanistan, Aaron returned home blind. But with a resilient heart and motivation to do it all, Aaron and his wife started EOD Fudge and have since been featured on multiple networks such as FOX Business and ESPN. To see what amazing treats they offer such as fudge, candy apples and even pies, click here.

Second, we have Lift Chocolate where “Candy Man” owner and Chocolatier Lieutenant Colonel Brandon Busch offers all-natural, handmade gourmet chocolate treats. Brandon served as a heavy-lift helicopter pilot in the United States Marine Corps and two combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and continues to serve as a Forward Air Controller in the Marine Corps Reserve. To see Lift Chocolates exclusive Valentine’s Day lineup, click here.

I hope this article has provided you with several options to consider this Valentine’s season. If there are other brands you are considering, we urge you to search our scores before you venture out for that special something. Every little bit counts to making conscious choices for the moral and ethical support of our American standards.

Watch DeSantis on Mask Mandates: ‘The Science Didn’t Change —The Political Science Changed’

Spot on! DeSantis is awesome. What he would do to Biden or Harris on the debate stage. It would not be pretty.

WATCH DeSANTIS DESTROY DEMS ON MASKS: ‘The Science Didn’t Change —The Political Science Changed’

By The First, February 10, 2022

Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) took a moment out from talking infrastructure improvements to discuss the latest trend of blue states lifting mask mandates.

“These kids are so much happier being able to go to school without having to wear masks for 8 hours a day. Remember this: the medical science didn’t change, the political science changed.”

“They feel the heat. They know voters are tired of perpetual lockdown policies…they know they’re fixing to get whooped at the polls.”

DeSantis shared his message on Twitter:

“The medical science on forced masking children didn’t change — the political science did. In Florida, we never imposed state mask mandates, and we liberated children and parents from the local authorities that did. We hope every jurisdiction will follow suit.”
