Dear Comrades: A tale of the Soviet past & American present

Dear Comrades!

If you think the events of the January 6th “insurrection” at the U.S. Capitol – where angry protesters entered a government building and were shot at, with the FBI later identifying and arresting the participants – if you think such events will never be faithfully described in an award-winning movie, you are mistaken.

Such a fact-based movie had been made and released to critical acclaim last year, before the above events even occurred. It is titled “Dear Comrades!” and I watched it last night online. And so can you – on Hulu or any other streaming services. Unfortunately, you’ll have to watch it in Russian with English subtitles – because all the films that are being made in English by the left-leaning American studios have long ago stopped being consequential, realistic, meaningful, moving, or unforgettable.

Alright, I admit that any similarities between this film and what happened at the U.S. Capitol are purely coincidental.

It was the KGB, not the FBI that arrested people based on the photos of the crowd. It was the caring Communist officials, not the caring Democrat officials, who were scrambling to escape through the back door. It was the Soviet Politburo members, not the members of the U.S. Congress who summoned thousands of armed troops to protect them from the people. It was the KGB snipers, not Nancy Pelosi’s bodyguards who were shooting at the crowd. It was the local Soviet authorities, not the Washington Mayor that declared a draconian curfew. And it was the Soviet and not the American media that embargoed all the truth about the events.

After all, “Dear Comrades!” is about the Soviet state’s response to a spontaneous strike of factory workers in a Russian city in 1962. The people were shot at, the survivors were arrested by the KGB, and the rest of the city inhabitants had to sign non-disclosure papers stating that none of the above had ever happened. The blood-stained square was promptly covered with new asphalt and in the evening the authorities organized a massive celebration with happy music and dancing on top of the freshly disguised blood puddles. This has never happened in America, of course. Not yet.

The main character, a female Party apparatchik Lydmila, has her doubts in private, but publicly she believes that the repressions and atrocities must continue, because otherwise it would mean that all the previous repressions and atrocities had been in vain, and such a thing would be too terrible to imagine. As a result, like many other Communists, she has a tortured, disfigured mind, trapped within the narrow dogmatic constraints like a fly between two window panes. Her hypocritical faith in the system is tested when her own freethinking daughter goes missing.

Any similarity between this character and today’s virtue-signaling enforcers of the cancel culture who live in constant fear of being canceled themselves, is also purely coincidental.

Please watch “Dear Comrades!” and tell us about any other purely coincidental similarities you may discover.

Watch Tucker Carlson’s Interview with Harmeet Dhillon, Project Veritas Attorney on the Ashley Biden Diary

RELATED TWEETS:

TRANSCRIPT

Tucker Carlson, Fox News host: “So, here’s an interesting story. During the final days of the last election, Project Veritas, the journalism group, looked into a story about the missing diary of Ashley Biden, the president’s daughter. They didn’t run anything on it. So, just the other day, the FBI knocks down their door, looking for this — purely a political investigation...Amazing how that works. Harmeet Dhillon is a famous civil rights attorney and managing partner of the Dhillon law group. She represents James O’Keefe in this story. She joins us tonight with the very latest on it. Harmeet, thanks a lot for coming on. I mean, I don’t know what even to say aboutI mean, what is this?”

Harmeet Dhillon, Project Veritas attorney: “Well, our client James O’Keefe’s home was raided on Saturday morning by the FBI. They had a battering ram, and they threw him out in the hallway and took, you know, in handcuffs and took his phones. Now a lot of privileged information was on his phones, including communications with — by my count four dozen different lawyers over the years. And coincidentally, this publication came out this afternoon from The New York Times. Now, I can’t say with a certainty how The New York Times got this information, but I can say that they got it in a way that is illegal and unethical. And so, we have to ask that question. You know, what we have right now is a very disturbing situation of the U.S. attorney’s office and/or the FBI tipping off The New York Times to each of the raids on Project Veritas — current and former employees. Last week — we know that — because minutes after these raids occurred, they got calls from The New York Times, which is the only journalism outlet that knew about it. And they published this hit piece today, which is really despicable. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this low from The New York Times before — to publish people’s private legal communications. And by the way, what does it prove? New York Times? All it proves is that Project Veritas is an honest and thoughtful journalistic organization that sought legal advice before making various publications. That’s what Fox News does. That’s what The New York Times does. And that’s what every major journalism outlet does. So, I don’t know what ‘gotcha’ they think they were doing there other than they got themselves. Because they criticized Project Veritas for its tactics. And yet they sink so low, Tucker.”

Tucker: “We know for a fact that this administration leaks confidential information about its critics to news outlets, they did it to me personally. So, I know for a fact that they do it. Is there any way to catch them in the act of doing this? Which I think would be a crime?”

Harmeet: “Well, the first thing that we have done in response to the seizure of our client’s telephones, that include not just the legal information that I just mentioned, but also confidential source information, including sources in the Biden administration and in corporate America, and including donor information, which is also protected by the First Amendment. So, you have multiple First Amendment issues here. We asked the court to order a special master, to review this information and let the Southern District of New York prosecutors and the FBI look at it without somebody separating out this information. The government would not agree to do that voluntarily, but we went to court and today a federal judge did order the government to stop looking at these phones. So ultimately, we’re going to get some answers as to what was reviewed and what they did with it. It may be a long time. We may never know what they’ve done. The government still hasn’t admitted on your situation Tucker, that they did something illegal. I think they did. And you think they did. And there’s a lot of this going on. The DOJ has specific regulations about this. There’s also a federal statute called the Privacy Protection Act that protects journalists and their information from exactly this type of thuggish behavior. But what the DOJ has done in this case — they have blown federal law. They have blown the constitution; they have blown due process and civil rights. And now they’re communicating at some level for sure with The New York Times. So, this is a scandal of epic proportions and every journalist who isn’t worried and concerned about this should hang up their journalism card, ditto, all First Amendment lawyers as well.”

Tucker: “Yeah. And here’s The New York Times participating in the defense of the regime it’s supposed to be covering. I mean, it’s the deepest level of corruption. Harmeet Dhillon. Great to see you tonight. Thank you for this.”

Harmeet: “Thank you, Tucker.”

Lies, damned lies and the Steele dossier

The truth always comes out eventually.

Last week, Russian-born analyst Igor Danchenko, who lives in Washington DC, was arrested for making false statements to the FBI. While this may sound like another innocuous headline in these days of deceit, Danchenko’s arrest is the latest chapter in a breathtaking political scandal that renders Watergate child’s play.

All the way back in January 2017, BuzzFeedNews broke a bombshell story titled, “These Reports Allege Trump Has Deep Ties To Russia. It was the first time the public gained access to the now infamous “Steele dossier” — a 35-page intelligence report alleging that Trump planned his rise to presidential power with secret interference from Russia.

A media feeding frenzy began. For the next two years, America’s corporate press gave unending airtime to the Trump-Russia collusion story. It rose above every cheap shot about Trump’s diet, small hands or latest mean tweet to become the principal proof that Trump was an imposter: an illegitimate president and an existential threat to the global order.

It wasn’t just America’s national media that ran with the narrative. It quickly became a worldwide sensation. Australian taxpayers funded and endured thousands of articles on the ABC website, including a Four Corners special that claimed, “It’s the story of the century: The US President and his connections to Russia.”

The New York Times and the Washington Post were jointly decorated with the 2018 Pulitzer Prize in National Reporting on the story. Still today, the Pullitzer Prize website recounts of their heroic feats:

For deeply sourced, relentlessly reported coverage in the public interest that dramatically furthered the nation’s understanding of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and its connections to the Trump campaign, the President-elect’s transition team and his eventual administration.

There was only one problem: the Steele dossier was almost entirely fictional. Danchenko was the “source” for many of its false claims — and justice finally caught up with him last week.

That the dossier was bunk was already known. The two-year, US$32 million Mueller Report that probed the dossier and other sources found no evidence that Trump had colluded with Russia, even if the Kremlin did interfere in the election for its own ends.

By the time the Mueller Report was released, the damage to Trump’s reputation had already been done. But this was only the beginning of the scandal’s unravelling.

During Trump’s first year in office, it came to light that the Steele dossier had actually been funded by Trump’s rivals. The year previous, its author — former British spy Christopher Steele — had been paid to produce the bunk document by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee. Both Clinton and the DNC lied about their role in the scandal until it could be lied about no longer.

Other sinister events were taking place behind the scenes. The Obama-era FBI launched “Crossfire Hurricane”, a secret investigation giving the FBI powers to spy on Donald Trump’s election campaign.

In an exposé, the editorial board of the New York Post noted that “the Obama-Comey FBI and Justice Department never had anything more substantial than the laughable fiction of the Steele dossier to justify the “counterintelligence” investigation of the Trump campaign.” They continued:

President Barack Obama, in his final days in office, played a key role in fanning the flames of the phony scandal. Fully briefed on the “Crossfire Hurricane” investigation, he knew the FBI had come up with nothing despite months of work starting in July 2016.

Indeed, the Obama administration went on a full-scale leak offensive — handing the Washington Post, New York Times and others a nonstop torrent of “anonymous” allegations of Trumpite ties to Moscow. It suggested that the investigations were finding a ton of treasonous dirt on Team Trump — when in fact the investigators had come up dry.

The dishonesty ran deep. Subsequent investigations revealed that an FBI lawyer deceptively altered an email which was then used to persuade a federal judge to extend a surveillance warrant, allowing the spying on Trump’s campaign to continue. The shady lawyer avoided jail time, apparently because that’s how things are done these days in DC.

We often think of postmodernism in its impact on literature, the arts and popular culture. But the link between postmodernism and politics couldn’t be more apparent than in the Steele dossier saga. To borrow the words of postmodernism’s precursor, Friedrich Nietzsche:

What were we doing when we unchained this earth from its sun? Whither is it moving now? Whither are we moving? Away from all suns? Are we not plunging continually? Backward, sideward, forward, in all directions? Is there still any up or down?

America’s intelligence agencies were weaponised against innocent civilians for partisan political gain. Reputations and careers are in tatters. The global media has been willingly used in a relentless assault on truth and common sense. And now that the truth comes out, the guilty are silent.

Destroy a culture’s meta-narrative and you end up with any narrative at all.

Be careful, little ears, what you hear.

VIDEO: WATCH Biden’s Most RACIST Moments Caught On Camera

Biden Goes Full-Blown Racist During Live Speech at Arlington National Cemetery.

Biden then went on to tell a stupid joke/story about Satchel Paige.

Joe Biden suffers from a startling number of racial biases that are not favorable toward minorities in America, but his consistent “slip-ups” don’t seem to bother his woke left loyalists.

Watch this video to see some of his most racist moments caught on camera:

Daily Caller op-ed contributor Tim Murtaugh wrote a compelling piece on Biden’s decades-long habit of making overtly racist remarks, taking highly discriminatory positions and spending his time with known racists.

We can no longer assume that Biden’s behavior is a “gaffe.”

In just one day, Biden claimed that Latinos in America are resistant to vaccinations because “they’re worried that they’ll be vaccinated and deported.” More than 60 million Latinos are American citizens.

He then went on to describe how black Americans are against vaccinations because “they are used to be experimented on — the Tuskegee Airmen and others.”

The Tuskegee Airmen and Tuskegee Syphilis Study are not the same groups of people. The Tuskegee airmen were the first black fighter pilots to serve in the U.S. Army Air Corps.

The Tuskegee Syphilis experiment was an almost 50-year study that allowed scientists to leave black men with syphilis and other diseases untreated, because the researchers wanted to see how the 600 men’s health progressed through their lives.

This was not the first time Biden had conflated the Tuskegee events.

Biden also accused a black interviewer with being a drug addict after the interviewer asked him whether he had taken a cognitive test.

Why Biden’s supporters are so comfortable with an obvious, outspoken racist as their leader is presently unknown. The use of the term “gaffe” to describe Biden’s consistent mistakes is a verbal band-aid on his behavior.

At this point, Biden is exhibiting a form of confirmation bias, coupled with a mish mash of conscious and unconscious racial biases. Confirmation bias is defined as a “tendency to favor information that aligns with existing beliefs and attitudes.”

Biden’s administration has not done enough to mitigate his obvious racial biases. In an article by reporter Brianna Lyman, press secretary Jen Psaki cut off a New York Post reporter who pressed her on Biden’s authorship of the 1994 crime bill.

Just What You’ve Been Waiting For: Benetton is Now Offering a Unisex Hijab!

My latest in PJ Media:

As American society, and Western society in general, progresses from glory to glory and grows more woke by the day, the trendy Italian brand United Colors of Benetton is offering an exciting new item, just in time for the Christmas season: a unisex hijab. It’s described as a “unisex hijab in stretch fabric. Multicolor monogram print with Benetton logo joined to the G of Ghali. Small logo printed on the left side. This accessory belongs to the ‘United Colors of Ghali’ capsule collection, created by Ghali.”

One wonders who Benetton execs think will want this item. After all, the hijab is prescribed in Islamic law specifically for women. The idea of a man wearing one would be considered absurd because the whole idea of a hijab is to remove the source of temptation for men. If a man is tempted anyway and a woman ends up being sexually assaulted or raped, it’s her fault. Because the hijab is an important part of a woman’s responsibility under Sharia, many women have been brutalized and even killed for not wearing it.

There are, unfortunately, numerous available examples of this brutalization, and many others whom we will never know because such matters are often not considered news fit to print in Sharia states. In Mississauga, Ontario a few years ago, Aqsa Parvez’s Muslim father choked her to death with her hijab after she refused to wear it. Amina Muse Ali, a Christian woman in Somalia, was also murdered because she wasn’t wearing a hijab. 40 women were murdered in Iraq in 2007 for not wearing the hijab. Fifteen girls in Saudi Arabia were killed when the religious police wouldn’t let them leave their burning school building because they had taken off their hijabs in their all-female environment.

A mid-October incident in Egypt reinforced the idea that the hijab is a symbol of the oppression of women, and a pretext for their brutalization. A female pharmacist named Isis Mustafa went to work as usual at a health facility in the village of Kfar Atallah; however, on this day something was different: Mustafa was not wearing a hijab. According to the Arabic-language El Balad, Mustafa’s female colleagues were enraged. They set upon her, beat her, and dragged her by her uncovered hair.

So why would a man wear a hijab? To ward off the advances of other men? To remove a source of temptation from gay Muslims? In a majority-Muslim country, a man who wore a hijab would likely be considered insane. In the woke West in 2021, such a man is making a fashion statement.

There is more. Read the rest here.

The FDA is Holding Up Potentially Life-Saving COVID Treatments

We may already have potentially life-saving pills that can treat COVID-19 and drastically reduce the chances of death. It’s just currently illegal to prescribe or sell them, thanks to the Food and Drug Administration.

The treatments in question include a new pill to treat COVID-19 developed by Pfizer. The company says the pill was highly effective in its trials, reducing the risk of an infected patient dying or being hospitalized by 89 percent. According to the Washington Post, “The effect of the Pfizer drug was found to be so strong midway through the study that an independent committee monitoring the clinical trial recommended it be stopped early.”

Another company, Merck, has developed a pill it says reduces the chances of serious illness and death by 50 percent and requested FDA approval last month. It is still waiting on approval, although it was approved on November 5 in the United Kingdom.

As far as the Pfizer treatment is concerned, the request for FDA emergency approval has already been submitted. We’re literally just waiting on them to get their act together and meet (virtually!) to discuss it, and apparently the FDA won’t be doing so until after Thanksgiving. This means that the Pfizer treatments won’t start getting administered until December at the earliest.

To be clear, I’m not a doctor, and I can’t testify that these treatments are, in fact, as effective as the companies’ trials claim. But what I can say with certainty is that with 750,000 Americans having died of or with COVID-19 and thousands more dying each week, sick people should have the legal option to take these treatments if they want to.

As the Washington Examiner’s Tim Carney pointed out, “In the past 30 days, more than 37,000 people died of COVID in the United States, according to the CDC. Over the next 35 days, [the Pfizer treatment] could prevent tens of thousands of avoidable deaths. But instead, the FDA won’t immediately let Pfizer sell a drug it knows to be lifesaving.”

“This isn’t the behavior of a government set on maximizing public health,” Carney concluded. “This is a bureaucracy religiously devoted to its own tedious rules to the point of defeating its own purpose for existence.”

Indeed it is. This latest FDA failure offers a painful reminder of how entrenched, powerful government bureaucracies threaten progress and harm society. That’s a lesson worth remembering long after the pandemic ends.

Biden’s Democrats Are Working Feverishly to Cancel We The People

Cancel Culture: The practice or tendency of engaging in mass canceling as a way of expressing disapproval and exerting social pressure.

“If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face—for ever.” ― George Orwell, 1984

“When someone intends to be hateful, it’s usually met with great resistance. Casual ignorance is harder to combat and has greater reach, especially when you command great influence.” –  Julian Edelman, former NFL wide receiver who played 12 seasons with the New England Patriots.

The Democrat Party and, their leader by default, Joe Biden are doing everything they can to cancel each and every Constitutional right of we the people.

Along with their allies Antifa, Black Lives Matter, Planned Parenthood, RINO Republicans, the legacy media and social media bigwigs are working in concert to stop anyone who opposes them and their policies.

One of their favorite causes is defund the police. An example is stopping Democrat Eric Leroy Adams, American politician and retired police officer, who is the mayor-elect of New York City even before he does his duty to protect the people of New York City.

Zachary Faria in a Washington Examiner article wrote:

Many Democrats say that entering the country illegally should not be a crime. Increasingly, they think committing crimes while here illegally should also be shrugged off.

According to GOP Senate offices and former immigration officials, the immigration provisions in the Democratic budget reconciliation bill would make illegal immigrants who commit manslaughter and domestic violence eligible for amnesty and protect them from deportation. An analysis of the provision was shared with the Washington Free Beacon, which cites the legal language and observes that cases of assaulting a police officer and lewd and lascivious conduct would also be among the crimes that may not lead to deportation.

The Democrats want to protect criminals and illegal aliens, we the people be damned.

Voiding the U.S. Constitution

The Biden administration is using executive powers and unconstitutional mandates to exert power over we the people.

One recent example is Biden telling companies to ignore a federal judge’s ruling against getting vaxxed. CNBC’s Spencer Kimball reported:

The White House on Monday said businesses should move forward with President Joe Biden’s vaccine and testing requirements for private businesses, despite a federal appeals court ordering a temporary halt to the rules.

“People should not wait,” White House Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters during a briefing. “They should continue to move forward and make sure they’re getting their workplace vaccinated.”

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit, considered one of the most conservative appellate courts in the country, halted the requirements Saturday pending review, writing that “the petitions give cause to believe there are grave statutory and constitutional issues with the Mandate.”

The Republican attorneys general in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina and Utah, as well as several companies, requested the pause. They argued that the requirements exceed the authority of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, which will enforce the mandates, and amount to an unconstitutional delegation of power to the executive branch by Congress.

Let us count the ways that Biden is canceling we the people

Under President Donald J. Trump there was a way that we the people could petition the White House with our concerns. Once a “We The People” petition campaign reached at least 100,000, the White House was required to respond. We the people are now excluded from interaction with Biden’s White House.

Biden did away with this two way communication between him, his office and we the people.

Here’s a list of some items that We The People are concerned about:

  1. Growing inflation across America.
  2. Covid jab mandates, which have been stayed by a federal district court judge.
  3. Open Southern borders.
  4. Unvetted Afghan refugees being allowed to migrate to America.
  5. Leaving American citizens, including the families of U.S. military, behind in Afghanistan.
  6. The Biden Build Back Better agenda.
  7. Biden’s radical policies to save the planet (e.g. Green New Deal) at the expense of Americans in particular and mankind in general.
  8. The recently passed infrastructure which was filled with pork and items that have nothing to do with infrastructure.
  9. Biden’s tone deafness when it comes to parents role in the raising and education of their children.
  10. Biden’s tax the rich mentality, which will in fact lead to taxing every working American.
  11. Biden’s efforts to shut down the fossil fuel industry.
  12. Biden’s efforts to control those who don’t comply to his mandates.
  13. The Democrats sham hearings on the peaceful January 6th, 2021 demonstration in Washington, D.C.
  14. Democrat Party support for teachers unions and the National School Board Association, which asked that the FBI designate parents opposed to Critical Race Theory and the indoctrination of children in public schools, be designated “domestic terrorists.”
  15. Biden’s giving illegal aliens $450,000, while ignoring we the peoples’ needs.
  16. Biden’s supply chain debacle. As we approach the holiday season and we the people go shopping for presents for Christmas will the shelves be barren? It appears so as we are seeing Biden and his handlers laughing at us and our concerns.

Biden: ‘Ever Think You’d Be Paying This Much for a Gallon of Gas?’

Conclusion

We the people are here to protect and defend the U.S. Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic and the U.S. Constitution was written to protect we the people.

While we have many foreign enemies, our most deadly is domestic. It is the Democrat Party, Joe Biden, the Biden administration, the Democrat and RINO members of the U.S. Congress and even the U.S. Supreme Court.

We the people see where this is headed. An economic disaster for our nation, for our families, for our children, for our grandchildren and for WE THE PEOPLE.

Vladimir Lenin said, “The goal of socialism is communism.” This is the same goal of the Democrat Party, et. al.

May God continue to bless we the people and keep us from bondage.

Biden Regime Has New Secret Weapon to Bankrupt Oil and Gas Industry

Real Wages Declined 0.5% in October Amid Mounting Inflation

Wages rose 0.4 percent in October. That’s good news, right? Not so fast.

New inflation data reveal that despite nominal gains, Americans’ real wages actually declined last month.

The latest Consumer Price Index shows that consumer prices rose 6.2 percent from October 2020 to October 2021—the highest price inflation level in more than 30 years. In particular, necessities such as food, fuel, and used vehicles saw stark price increases. On a one-month basis, from September 2021 to October 2021, prices rose 0.9 percent—significantly more than wages.

So, even though wages nominally increased, real purchasing power has declined. That’s right: Americans may think they’ve gotten a raise, but they actually got a pay cut.

“All told, real average hourly earnings when accounting for inflation, actually decreased 0.5% for the month,” CNBC reports. “So an apparent solid paycheck increase actually turned into a decrease, and another setback for workers still struggling to shake off the effects of the Covid pandemic.”

This is more than just bad news. The troubling inflation trend also reminds us why we mustn’t fall for what economists call the “money illusion.” As economist Peter Jacobsen has explained for FEE.org, what matters is not the number on your paycheck but what you can buy with it.

“This concept is called your real wage,” Jacobsen writes. “If you offer someone a larger number on their paycheck, but then tell them the larger number comes with the caveat that they’ll be able to buy fewer goods and services in the present and future, they’d be a fool to take the deal.”

Politicians, including President Biden, are quick to point to the fact that nominal wages are rising:

They have every incentive to try to take credit for rising paychecks, after all. But voters shouldn’t fall for this rhetorical sleight-of-hand. As this week’s ugly inflation numbers show, real wages are falling—thanks to the government’s poor policy making.

VIDEO: Biden Treason! Exposing U.S. Troops to Terrorists & Most Deadly Vax Ever

Joe Biden is literally killing American servicemen and women. Biden cares more about forcing the COVID shot into the arms of the U.S. military than he does about protecting our guys in hell-holes like Afghanistan. Biden is exposing our troops to terrorists and they are getting killed.

But he’s also exposing the military to a long-term potential death sentence by forcing them to participate (unwillingly or unknowingly) in the largest human clinical trial of mRNA spike proteins ever. Biden cares more about this political wedge issue (COVID vax) than he does about protecting our troops from actual, lethal threats.

CHAOS: Turkey Prices Up 41%, Home Heating Oil Up 115%, Food Prices Up 10.5%

“If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face—for ever.” ― George Orwell, 1984

22% of all U.S. Dollars were created in 2020 alone? Read that again. 1/5th of all U.S. Dollars were created in 2020. The shit has yet to hit the fan.

No Thanks! Turkey Prices Up 41%, Home Heating Oil Up 115%, Food Prices Up 10.5%

Thanksgiving 2021 is shaping up to be the most expensive in history.

Prices of processed turkeys are up 40.7 percent compared with a year ago, data from the Department of Labor’s Producer Price Index showed Tuesday. That’s even after falling a seasonally adjusted one percent in October.

By: Breitbart News, November 10, 2021:

It may be hard to even find turkeys in some parts of the country this year. The Wall Street Journal reported that turkeys were 60 percent out of stock. Cranberries, yams, and sweet potatoes are also low in stock.
Grain prices are 40.8 percent higher than a year ago, driving up the prices of our largely grain-fed turkey crop. Beef and veal prices are up 41.5 percent compared with a year ago. Overall, food prices are running 10.5 percent higher than a year ago.

Getting to the family Thanksgiving will be costlier with gasoline prices are up close to 90 percent, according to the Producer Price Index. Airfares, fortunately for passengers, are near where they were a year ago and still well below pre-pandemic levels.

Home heating oil is up 114.8 percent. Residential natural gas prices are up 28.7 percent. Residential electricity prices are up 5.6 percent.

Overall, the Producer Price Index—which measures prices from the point of view of sellers—is up 8.6 percent compared with a year ago, tying the record high set last month.

HART: Build Back Better BS

The Democrats’ lobbyist-driven “infrastructure bill” recently passed, but the Build Back Better plan (“Human Infrastructure”) plan is meeting resistance even though they named it something alliterative, which made it sound adorable.

I studied it, and the Build Back Better plan is a three-step process. First, the Dems take the money from us via taxes, then they borrow more to further mire our nation in debt, and then — and this is the important third step — they set about wasting the money.

I have asked for years for anyone out there to email me if their town got a bridge, a road or anything from Obama/Biden’s “shovel ready jobs” Stimulus Bill of 2011. We were promised infrastructure, for which most of us do not mind paying. But instead we got handouts to public sector unions and Democrat bagmen. Why should we think these bills would be any different?

To get the first bill done, Nancy Pelosi lied. She did her best to channel her inner Oprah and went around to congressmen saying, “And you get a road, and you get a road and you get a bridge.”

Many of the components of, and the demands in the purported “Human Infrastructure Bill,” are racial. CNN’s April Ryan said we should make sure we address racial inequality when we build roads — in short, roads are racist.  I thought we got rid of racial tensions when we got that lady off the pancake syrup bottle. But no. Apparently there is more work to do.

Thank goodness for Sens. Manchin and Sinema. They held the line on some of the insanity. The simple fact is there are ten million unfilled jobs in the economy, so why do we need government stimulus to get the economy going? Some of these government-dependent lay-abouts need to get off the couch and stop watching Maury Povich,  go take a help wanted sign down on almost all the businesses around town and make a living. Stimulus, if ever needed, is NOT needed when the economy has plenty of unfilled jobs.

The weak and watered down way the first bill was passed is partially because Joe Biden’s popularity rating is down to 37% now. Go to any sporting event in the South and many in the North, and you will hear vulgar chants directed toward Joe Biden. He is starting to think his name is Brandon.

He is still blaming others. And he notes that all great Democrat presidents were known by their initials. JFK, LBJ and now him: FJB.

Biden can no longer cloak his bad policies in self-aggrandizing goals of “social justice” and “economic equality.” Every time Americans go to the pump, they see how bad things are.

At the Climate Summit in Glasgow (you know, where government officials and billionaires flew private jets into meetings in other countries to tell us not to use waste fuel), Biden became a joke. The British press mocked his flatulence; even Joe’s acolytes in the media ran the story of his gassy emissions next to world leaders. But on the bright side, as Jen Psaki pointed out, that was the first time gas was below $4 in months.

Aside from the Afghanistan pullout debacle, gas prices, inflation higher than Hunter Biden on a weekend and personal gaffes, Biden’s Secretary of Transportation (you know him as the lovable former mayor Pete Buttigieg of South Bend, Indiana), has messed up the supply chain. Even Black Lives Matters officials issued a stern warning to the administration that they would discontinue looting stores until the shelves are once again appropriately stocked.

The kink in the supply chain is causing clear problems for Democrats. The New Jersey race where a Republican almost won that dark blue state and Terry McAuliffe’s loss in Virginia to a novice Republican candidate are concerning to Dems. They could have just been blamed on the supply chain: 100,000 votes for McAuliffe from China, destined for Alexandria, Virginia, got stuck on a ship at the Port of Long Beach.

Putting “Mayor Pete” Buttigieg in charge of the unnecessarily big 55,000-employee federal government Department of Transportation was a mistake. Clearly the best fit for him would have been Secretary of Interior — Design.

Democrats have taken no responsibility for the terrible results that their policies have wrought. Biden blamed COVID and Trump. And Alec Baldwin blamed his assistant prop manager.

Biden Left Behind 100+ Family Members of U.S. Soldiers in Afghanistan

How bad was Biden’s retreat from Afghanistan?

While we mostly stopped talking about it, every week or so there’s a new revelation that shows that the administration lied about how many Americans it left behind and that the actual abandonment was worse than what was previously reported.

The Pentagon is stepping up efforts to get family members of U.S. troops out of Afghanistan, creating a database of the dozens who are trapped there.

Family members of U.S. troops.

If you thought that the Biden administration’s lies about a full and complete evacuation running on schedule were bad, they manage to get worse every week.

On Thursday, more than two months after the U.S. military withdrew completely from Afghanistan, Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Colin Kahl issued a memo asking any U.S. military personnel and DOD civilians with immediate family members who need help leaving Afghanistan to email his office.

I’m glad that the DOD finally found time to tackle this a few months later in between its commitment to telling servicemembers they’re racists who need to read Ibram X. Kendi and confess their white privilege.

There are still several dozen immediate family members of U.S. service members in Afghanistan, according to defense officials. Those include children, sisters and brothers, and parents. There are well over 100 extended family members still in Afghanistan, but it’s not clear how many of them want to leave the country, the officials said.

The Biden administration has been pushing this “not clear how many want to leave the country” talking point since Day 1. And yet it keeps turning out that all the people that Joe left behind enemy lines want to leave.

The official said there is real momentum to help get immediate family members out. “There is an increased desire to make sure that as we make this push that we have every situation accounted for,” the official said, adding that they are trying to “expand the reach” to make sure DOD personnel and their families are getting help.

In November. There’s “increased desire” after leaving them behind. I don’t even have the words.

The official said once the information is consolidated, the Pentagon will work with the State Department to extract family members who want to leave. The U.S. military will not have a role in actually getting the people out of the country, the official said.

Of course not. And, as usual, it’s not the whole list.

The Pentagon does not have a good accounting of how many DOD civilians still have immediate family members in Afghanistan, the officials said.

Back to more Diversity Equity and Inclusion training then.

The American Experiment

Is the Biden administration governing in a way that takes into consideration the will of the American people? Based on his plummeting poll numbers and crude anti-Biden chants filling sports stadiums, the answer would seem to be no.

Last week’s defeat of the left at the polls in Virginia and elsewhere was a reminder of the pushback of “we the people.”

Some leftist pundits said Terry McAuliffe lost his Virginia gubernatorial campaign in 2021 because he didn’t campaign to the left enough. Others remarked it was the alleged “white supremacist” factor that gave conservatives the victory. Of course, they say this while ignoring the victory of the lieutenant governor-elect in Virginia, Winsome Sears. She is the first black person to win that position in that state.

Last week’s election was a reminder of the genius of the founding fathers to build into the system the opportunity for “we the people” to correct earlier political mistakes.

Conservative columnist Star Parker made a comment about this principle once in a television  interview with D. James Kennedy Ministries.

She noted,

“What I’ve learned about this whole political arena is that the words of President Garfield are really true.  If you have recklessness and corruption in government, it’s because you tolerate it. Because of the beauty of the founding, they give us elections every two years, every four years, and every six years. So, in two years, we get to [elect Congress members] again; every four years, we get the president again; and every six years we get to determine who’s going to be our senate representation.”

Parker made this remark right after Biden’s victory about a year ago. She added,

“So, I’m just staying encouraged, because this moment in our history is only this moment in our history. History is long, and history is after us, but it’s also before us….We are now being tested…and it’s uncomfortable to have to get up and actually engage. But we’re called to do that. And we have that chance every two years, every four years, and every six years.”

Our political developments are a reminder of the American experiment created by the settlers and then the founders of America.

What is America in a nutshell? It is an experiment in self-government under God.

Some people want to remove the self-government part—but then they ultimately crown the government God. That scenario violates both parts of the phrase: self-government under God.

Others want to remove the God-part of the phrase. But when we have government without God, even self-government (without God), it all tends to break down because of the inherent sinfulness of humanity.

John Adams famously said, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

America’s founders designed things in such a way that we would be a self-governing people. The more people govern themselves the less outward government they need. The less they govern themselves, the more outward government is needed.

Knowing that we are all accountable before God, our founders understood the need for keeping one’s passions in check. As Thomas Jefferson noted, “Indeed I tremble for my country when reflect that God is just: that his justice cannot sleep forever.”

Self-government under God leads to greater freedom. The converse is true—bigger government under man (not God) constricts our freedom.

Why has America been so blessed—despite all our flaws—lo, these many centuries? I believe that the  first steps to self-government under God in America go back to the positive influence of the Pilgrims. 400 years ago this autumn, the Pilgrims who settled Plymouth held their first Thanksgiving celebration.

Our recent Providence Forum documentary, THE PILGRIMS, makes the simple point that the Pilgrims just wanted to worship God according to their conscience. In pursuing this religious freedom in the New World, they helped cast a long and positive shadow on what would become the future nation.

As the hymn, “America the Beautiful,” points out, “O beautiful for pilgrim feet / Whose stern impassioned stress, / A thoroughfare for freedom beat / Across the wilderness!”

Ronald Reagan once observed,

“Here in this land, for the first time, it was decided that man is born with certain God-given rights. We the people declared that government is created by the people for their own convenience. Government has no power except those voluntarily granted to it by we the people.”

The founding fathers took and extended the Pilgrims’ concept of liberty under God. Our 40th president added,

“Oh, there have been revolutions before and since ours. But those revolutions simply exchanged one set of rulers for another. Ours was a revolution that changed the very concept of government.”

And for that, all Americans should be full of thanksgiving.

It’s the Weather, Not the Climate, Stupid!

Weather is the state of the atmosphere, describing for example the degree to which it is hot or cold, wet or dry, calm or stormy, clear or cloudy.

What is Weather?

According to BYJU’S

  • The day-to-day conditions of the atmosphere at a place with respect to elements like humidity, temperature, wind speed, rainfall, etc. is called the weather of that place.
  • Weather can be cloudy, sunny, rainy, stormy or clear. It is a part of the natural phenomenon which maintains the equilibrium in the atmosphere.
  • But conditions can be worse sometimes. When the atmospheric conditions are extreme or intense enough to cause property loss or life loss, such weather is termed as severe weather.
  • These also vary according to the altitudes, latitudes, and region and pressure differences. Tornadoes, cyclones, heavy rainfall, fog, winter storms come under this category. They are disastrous and hazardous. Proper disaster management and strategies are required to handle these conditions.

Weather is the key factor in our daily lives. The weather determines how we heat/cool our homes, how we dress to keep warm or fight the heat and how we live our lives. If your an Eskimo living in Alaska you deal with different weather conditions than someone who is living in Florida, for example.

Why are we so focused on the Climate?

Climate was in use in English for well over a hundred years before we began to use the word in the 16th century to refer to weather conditions. So climate is synonymous with the weather. Then mankind began to use the phrase climate change in 1956.

Skeptical Science, whose mission is to debunk climate misinformation by presenting peer-reviewed science and explaining the techniques of science denial, noted this about the phrase climate change:

“The roots of the term have been around since 1956, when a scientist referred to it as ‘climactic change’ in a paper. By the ’80s, ‘climactic change’ had morphed into ‘climate change’ and entered popular discourse.”

BYJU’S Factors Affecting Weather:

  • All the changes that happen in the weather are made by the sun. Because the sun has a very high temperature and it is a huge sphere of hot gases. It is the main source of heat and light for the earth. It is even the primary source of energy hence affects the weather.
  • The energy reflected and absorbed by the earth’s surface, the oceans and the atmosphere play an important role in determining the weather at any place.
  • Gases like methane, water vapour and carbon dioxide also play a role in determining the weather.

So is it weather or climate?

Why I’m a Conservationist and not an Environmentalist

I deeply care about the planet earth and about all of the creatures living on the land and in our seas, rivers and oceans. However, I am not a environmentalist. Rather I am a conservationist.

According to Merriam-Webster, a conservationist is “a person who advocates conservation especially of natural resources.”

In contrast, an environmentalist is defined as one “concerned about environmental quality especially of the human environment with respect to the control of pollution.”

Do you see the difference?

Conservationism

A conservationist uses what has been given to us to use. He or she does not want to control people but give people access to all natural resources but task people to use these natural resources for the good of all of mankind. Not to do so is blasphemy.

I believe that it is mankind’s duty to use our God given natural resources. I also believe that God tasks us to use them wisely. I believe in waste not, want not.

Environmentalism

Environmentalists, unlike conservationists, want to prevent mankind from using earth’s natural resources. Environmentalism wants to “save the planet” by sacrificing the lives, liberties and prosperity  of mankind.

An environmentalist is focused neither on nature nor on science. An environmentalist is focused on controlling pollution by controlling people. Environmentalists have killed millions of people (e.g. when environmentalists banned DDT which lead to the deaths of millions who succumbed to malaria in third world countries from infected mosquitoes).

In order to control the people environmentalists have over time pushed three myths (big lies):

  1. Myth #1: Human Extinction Due To Climate Change Is Imminent

Conclusion

I believe Theodore Roosevelt said it best, “To waste, to destroy our natural resources, to skin and exhaust the land instead of using it so as to increase its usefulness, will result in undermining in the days of our children the very prosperity which we ought by right to hand down to them amplified and developed.”

It’s not about pollution at all.

Environmentalists want to reduce the amount of CO2 in our atmosphere. They forget that it’s CO2 that feeds the plants and makes them green and grow faster thereby producing more for mankind to consume. Remember learning about photosynthesis in high school? Photosynthesis is when plants convert sunlight into energy.

According to AskNature.org:

or the first half of Earth’s life to date, oxygen was all but absent from an atmosphere made mostly of nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and methane. The evolution of animals and life as we now know it owe everything to .

About 2.5 billion years ago, —the first organisms that used sunlight and carbon dioxide to produce oxygen and sugars via photosynthesis—transformed our atmosphere. Later, algae evolved with this ability, and about 0.5 billion years ago, the first land plants sprouted.

Algae, plankton, and land plants now work together to keep our atmosphere full of oxygen.

Genesis 1: 27-30 reads:

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, ‘Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground.’ Then God said, ‘I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground–everything that has the breath of life in it–I give every green plant for food.’ And it was so.

Don’t fall for the environmentalist’s big lies. Believe in the truth. God’s truth.

We have been given great bounty and we are tasked to give thanks for it.

Remember what Edmund Burke wrote,

“There is but one law for all, namely that law which governs all law, the law of our Creator, the law of humanity, justice, equity – the law of nature and of nations.”

As we approach Thanksgiving Day 2021 perhaps we should bow our heads in prayer and be most thankful for our conservationists who give us food, drink and with this bounty, health and prosperity.

Virginia shows America’s school choice moment has finally arrived

It took a catastrophe like Covid-19 for many to recognize the depth of problems in U.S. schools.

For months, all eyes have been on the Virginia governor’s race as both Democrats and Republicans saw it as a battleground for things to come. As it turned out, Republican Glenn Youngkin easily won the seat in a state that Joe Biden carried by over 10 points not even a year ago.

While Democrats attempted to make this election about Donald Trump, Youngkin took a decidedly different approach—focusing heavily on education and the issues that have animated parents across the country during the pandemic.

In contrast, Youngkin’s opponent, Democrat Terry McAuliffe, elevated teacher’s unions, supported vaccine mandates for children, and sided with those who’ve pushed lockdowns and masking on schools as well. He even went so far in a debate as to say parents should not be making decisions on their children’s education when asked about controversies over curricula including critical race theory and sexually-explicit materials.

“I’m not going to let parents come into schools and actually take books out and make their own decision,” McAuliffe said. “I don’t think parents should be telling schools what they should teach.”

Unsurprisingly, these stances did not sit well with voters.

Families have endured almost two years of pandemic policy, with those with school-age children arguably suffering the most. Parents have had to scramble to school their children at home, rearrange work schedules, and deal with the growing anxiety and mental health issues their kids are facing as a result.

Parents have also gotten to see firsthand what’s actually going on in their children’s classrooms during this time, and many have not been pleased. To make matters worse, when they attempted to go through the proper channels to address these significant issues—their elected school boards—they were shut down, not allowed to speak, and ultimately labeled domestic terrorists by their federal government who attempted to sic the FBI on them in a coordinated attack between the Biden Administration and the National School Board Association.

For decades, libertarians and true conservatives have pushed for school choice in response to increasingly failing schools, disproportionate educational outcomes, and waste in the public school system. While budgets have bloated (schools now spend an average of $15,000 per year per student), outcomes have continued to worsen. On top of that, public schools have become government indoctrination camps that teach children one version of events, compliance, and what to think, instead of how to think. The results of this are evident throughout our entire society.

For those unfamiliar with the idea of school choice, it can take multiple forms. In recent years, the most popular approach has been education savings accounts (ESAs), which would function similarly to health savings accounts (HSAs).

Basically, families would receive the money the state already spends on their child’s education in a fund that they would then have discretion over and the ability to allocate towards a number of educational services. They could reinvest in their public school and stay if it is good, or they could use the fund towards private school, homeschooling, tutors, online courses, and supplies. They could also roll the funds over year after year (which would incentivize frugality) and ultimately pay for college with it as well.

Since most private and homeschooling options are far cheaper than what the government spends per child, this would mean children receive a far better education at a much better price. It would also reintroduce competition back into the educational market, forcing government schools to improve or lose funds. School choice would break children out of the racially-zoned education system too, which dates back to the policy of redlining. Redlining formerly prohibited people of color from buying homes in certain areas, forcing them into inner-city zip codes. To this day, zip codes are used to determine where children attend school, and notably, inner-city schools continue to be the worst—trapping whole families in generational poverty that a better education could help them escape.

Lastly, school choice puts disputes over policies like masking, lockdowns, mandates, and curriculum to bed. Parents should have the ultimate say in the environment they want their children to be educated in. School choice would allow people to peacefully group themselves with others who desire the same and therefore cease the unrest we currently see at school board meetings.

School choice used to be a third rail issue not even five years ago. I should know, I was working to pass it in Tennessee back in 2016 and 2017. Democrats didn’t want it for the reasons that they still oppose it—they work to protect the interests of unions and administrators vs families. But Republicans were hesitant at the time as well.

Those days are long gone. After the injustices in our education system were laid bare over the past year and a half, parents are rising up to demand control of their kids’ futures and looking for options to remove government from the picture. School choice is no longer a fringe issue. Indeed, many have become single-issue voters on it.

In fact, a national school choice poll now shows 67 percent of voters want school choice. And if the Virginia race tells us anything, it’s that parents are going to vote for it as soon as they get the chance.

Whom does your kid belong to?

While it is unfortunate that it takes a catastrophe like Covid-19 for many to recognize the depth of problems in our educational system, we can at least hope that a silver-lining of this pandemic is a permanent wake-up call for parents.

The actions taken and statements made on education during the course of the pandemic by the left have made it clear that they believe the nation’s children belong to them. Just the mention of school choice or parental control draws sneers from those who feel entitled to the cash cow each child represents in the system. For them, it is not about educational outcomes (clearly), but rather about control.

Economist Murray Rothbard wrote, “The issue which has been joined in the past and in the present is: shall there be a free society with parental control, or a despotism with State control?”

For too long, government actors (school administrators, teachers, unions, and politicians) were given almost total control over education. Homeschooling wasn’t even legal in all 50 states until the 1990s. Now, they are primed to lose even more control as demands for school choice and parental involvement in the classroom grow.

Rothbard also noted that, “…the State has been warring with parents for control over their children.” That’s also evident right now as unions attempt to gaslight parents over what happened in the schools over the past year and the left attempts to malign parental control over education as a racism issue.

But if Virginia is the bellwether many believe it to be, parents won’t be backing down this time around. School choice is now a “main character” in the public policy drama, and it’s not playing second-fiddle again anytime soon.
