Gun Control Works! Muslim Convert Murders Five People with a Bow and Arrow

Advocates of gun control should take note of recent developments in Norway, but won’t: On Wednesday evening, a convert to Islam in the city of Kongsberg, southwest of Oslo, began shooting at random people with a bow and arrow. Police confronted him, but police in Norway are unarmed, so they had to retreat when he began firing arrows at them. He was only apprehended 35 minutes later, after he had murdered five people. The lessons for foes of the Second Amendment should be obvious, and those aren’t the only lessons of this grisly incident.

The attacker was a Danish citizen and convert to Islam named Espen Andersen Bråthen. And he hadn’t embraced that religion of peace and tolerance that non-Muslim politicians in the West keep telling us about. According to the UK’s Sun, “Police said the Danish man suspected of the attack is a Muslim convert who was previously flagged as having been radicalized.” Chief of Police Ole Bredrup Sæverud stated that “there has previously been worrying information about this man linked to his radicalisation which the police have followed up… but in 2021, we have not received any warnings about him.”

So the police knew that Espen Andersen Bråthen could be dangerous, but they hadn’t received any reports about him lately, and so he was free and unsupervised to the extent that he was able to murder five people. It would be unrealistic to expect Norwegian police to be shadowing every dangerous person who may at some point commit a crime, but Bråthen does appear to be one who warranted a bit more attention than he received. According to the Washington Post, “Norwegian media reported that a court had granted a restraining order last year for the alleged attacker to stay away from two of his family members for six months after he threatened to kill one of them.”

Despite all this, the Sun claimed that Bråthen’s motive was “unknown,” and the Post noted that “the police attorney said psychiatric experts would assess him on Thursday.”

Maybe he is insane, but there is a long history of authorities in the West declaring that people who are obviously jihadis are simply mentally ill. In the real world, there is extremely strong evidence of what Bråthen’s motive was. He is a convert to a religion that reveres as holy a book that tells believers to “kill them,” that is, unbelievers, “wherever you find them” (Qur’an 2:191; 4:89; cf. 9:5). This applies to family members as well, for the same book says: “O you who believe, do not choose your fathers or your brothers for friends if they take pleasure in disbelief rather than faith. Whoever among you takes them for friends, such people are wrongdoers” (Qur’an 9:23). It depicts the patriarch Abraham as telling his unbelieving father that “there has arisen between us and you hostility and hatred forever, until you believe in Allah alone.” (Qur’an 60:4)

VIDEOS: Why Are Mail-in Ballots Wrong?

On November 16th, 2020 a video was posted titled This Is Why “Mail In Ballots” Are A Problem.


On March 29th, 2020 the president of the Crime Prevention Research Center told One America News that the first and, so far, only complete audit of 2020 election mail-in ballots shows about 6 percent of the votes cast were illegal.

On September 11, 2020 a local election official in New York state is warned that some people are trying to request mail-in ballots on behalf of deceased people.

On October 20th, 2020, MIT News‘ Peter Dizikes reported:

In elections, every vote counts. Or should count. But a new study by an MIT professor indicates that in the 2016 U.S. general election, 4 percent of all mail-in ballots were not counted — about 1.4 million votes, or 1 percent of all votes cast, signaling a significant problem that could grow in 2020.

The study quantifies the range of reasons for this, including late-arriving ballots, problems with ballot signatures and envelopes, and improperly marked ballots, among other things.

In an August 25th, 2020 Op-Ed column titled “Mail-in ballots: What could go wrong?” Peter J. Wallison wrote:

So the answer to the question about what could go wrong with mail-in ballots is this: plenty. Just in the recent primary election in New York, results in one race could not be reported until six weeks after the balloting as the representatives of rival candidates fought over the validity of mail-in ballots. As the Washington Post reported,

At the center of this mess is a massive influx of mail-in ballots — 403,000 returned ballots in the city this cycle vs. 23,000 that were returned and determined valid during the 2016 primary — and a system wholly unprepared to process them. It’s not just delayed results that are at issue: In the 12th District and in the primaries across the country, tens of thousands of mail-in ballots were invalidated for technicalities like a missing signature or a missing postmark on the envelope.

In New Jersey, as reported in the Wall Street Journal, 9.6% of ballots were not counted, because of deficiencies such as late delivery and lack of signatures. These controversies will not be settled by goodwill on both sides. They will eventually make it into the courts, and the inevitable delays in litigation may mean that the new Congress will convene on Jan. 3 without all the seats filled in both the House and Senate.

Infinitely worse will be the controversy over the presidency, as tedious ballot counts produce challenges to the validity of signatures, ballot delivery dates and whether a voter is truly a resident of the state in which the vote was cast. Several weeks ago, for example, the Wall Street Journal published an article by a voter who was once a resident of Washington state but is now a resident of Texas. A ballot was sent to his Washington home and dutifully forwarded by the post office to his Texas address. Clearly, he could easily vote in two states. How many partisans will resist this temptation? Imagine the fights that will occur over whether a particular voter is validly entitled to vote in Texas or Washington. Will the residency of every voter have to be verified?

California’s Mail-in Ballots

On July 13th, 2020 The Associated Press reported:

More than 100,000 mail-in ballots were rejected by California election officials during the March presidential primary, according to data obtained by The Associated Press that highlights a glaring gap in the state’s effort to ensure every vote is counted.

[ … ]

The California secretary of state’s election data obtained by the AP showed 102,428 mail-in ballots were disqualified in the state’s 58 counties, about 1.5% of the nearly 7 million mail-in ballots returned. That percentage is the highest in a primary since 2014, and the overall number is the highest in a statewide election since 2010.

Today California has implemented statewide mail-in balloting.

What could possibly go wrong now?

Mail-in Ballot Fraud

‘Impossible’: Analysis of 950 Military Mail-In Ballots in GA Show 100% Went to Biden.

Ballotpedia defines mail-in ballot fraud as,

“Absentee/mail-in ballot vote fraud occurs when an individual commits electoral fraud via absentee or mail-in ballot. Examples include attempting to vote more than once, attempting to vote using the name of another person, and attempting to vote while being knowingly ineligible to do so.”

On October 15th, 2020 Hans A. von Spakovsky and Kaitlynn Samalis-Aldrich in their article titled “More Examples of Election Fraud Prove the Left Is in Denial About It” wrote:

The 2020 presidential election is less than three weeks away, and many Americans have already voted early or through the mail.

Unfortunately, at the same time that they are exercising their franchise, there are others out there who are taking advantage of the vulnerabilities in our system to try to steal their vote or dilute the value of their vote.

Though many on the left downplay the threats to the security and integrity of the electoral process, such fraud really does occur, jeopardizing free and fair elections for the American people.

The Heritage Election Fraud Database showcases a sampling of close to 1,300 proven instances of election fraud. Yet, many other cases go unreported and other potential cases are not investigated or prosecuted.

Here are some examples of mail-in ballot fraud:

  • A German journalist who reports that he received three ballots at his residence in Washington, D.C., for the previous tenant, who moved five years ago; the landlady, who now lives in Puerto Rico; and the landlady’s deceased husband.
  • New Jersey residents across the state reporting that they have received absentee ballots for their deceased relatives.
  • Clerical errors that sent 1,400 Virginia voters two mail-in ballots for the general election.
  • Close to 100,000 New York City voters receiving mail-in ballots with incorrect names and addresses.
  • An acquaintance of one of the writers living in Washington, D.C., who received five ballots in the mail—two for him, one for his roommate, and two for individuals who haven’t lived at his address for years. Those ballots can be seen here.

Conclusion

The Atlantic reported on September 30th, 2020 that, “Democrats looking ahead to the presidential election urged people to stay home in November—and vote by mail.”

An August Wall Street Journal/NBC poll found that roughly half of Biden voters were expect to cast their ballot by mail for the 2020 Presidential election.

QUESTION: Did these Democrats cast their mail-in ballots lawfully?

If half of the 130 million votes cast in the 2020 election by Democrats were mail-in, then how many of these estimated 65 million mail-in ballots for Biden legally cast?

If we estimate that 6% were illegally cast then that’s 3.84 million illegal mail-in votes!

No one has seriously looked into this.

Voter fraud is real. Mail-in voter fraud is real. The future of free and fair elections is in jeopardy.

Today with mail-in ballots anyone, legal or illegally, can send in a mail-in ballot.

As we approach the 2022 mid-term elections do we have confidence that the election will be free and fair? With mail-in ballots now becoming the norm rather than the exception, we think not.

Freedom From Slavery is a Basic Human Right that Nevada Denies Many

By providing legal cover for the sex trade, Nevada is directly violating the Thirteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution. States cannot create conditions that allow slavery or involuntary servitude to flourish—including in the form of sex trafficking.

The NCOSE Law Center’s lawsuit representing survivors seeks to hold the state of Nevada accountable for protecting prostitution and profiting from it.

The Lawsuit Against Nevada, Explained

Nevada—a state which continues to profit from and provide legal cover for the sexual exploitation of women—has been hit with a lawsuit brought by the National Center on Sexual Exploitation Law Center and Jason D. Guinasso with Hutchison & Steffen, PLLC, on behalf of sex trafficking survivors.

In the United States, it is believed that prostitution generates over $14 billion in revenue yearly and five billion of that comes from Nevada. Nevada has legalized prostitution in certain counties, and benefits from the tourism driven by the belief that prostitution is legalized everywhere.  So, not only does the state of Nevada provide the commercial sex industry with legal cover, it also profits from the sexual exploitation of women.

Here’s what you need to know about the lawsuit against Nevada, as well as information on how you can help hold the state accountable for profiting from the sexual exploitation of women.

What happened to the plaintiffs who are suing the state of Nevada?

As a child, during a vulnerable time, Angela Williams encountered a man who became the first of many to sell her to commercial sex buyers. Ms. Williams was attending college in Houston and working two jobs to support herself when she was introduced to her first sex trafficker before she was even 18. Williams was groomed and forced to perform sexual acts on commercial sex buyers once she turned 18.

Ms. Williams was eventually able to break free of her sex trafficker, but ended up at a strip club in Houston where she met another violent sex trafficker. She escaped again but was soon trapped again in the state of Nevada. There, Ms. Williams was sexually abused, exploited, and trafficked time and again. Ultimately, Ms. Williams would be trafficked in Nevada from 2006 to 2017.

Doe was introduced to the world of sex trafficking in Las Vegas by a family member who promised her it was a “quick and easy” way to get money.

Plaintiff Jane Doe was subjected to extreme violence, starvation, and torture while being sex trafficked in Nevada from 2013 to 2018.  Jane Doe eventually ended up at a legal brothel in Nevada, where she was subjected to debt bondage and other forms of coercion.

Why bring a lawsuit against the state of Nevada?

The right to be free from slavery is a basic human right that Nevada denies many. Angela Williams and Jane Doe’s experiences are not isolated.

The sexual exploitation of women for profit happens every single day in Nevada and it has long attempted to normalize and profit from the regulation of prostitution in its state. The demand of commercial sex buyers is extremely high and Nevada pulls in profits of around $5 billion annually from the commercial sex trade.

The commercial sex industry directly subjected Ms. Williams and Jane Doe to slavery and involuntary servitude in the form of sex trafficking, due to Nevada’s system of regulated prostitution.

By providing legal cover for the sex trade, Nevada is directly violating the Thirteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution. The Thirteenth Amendment makes it so that states cannot create conditions that allow slavery or involuntary servitude to flourish—including in the form of sex trafficking.

What is the desired outcome of the lawsuit against the state of Nevada?

The plaintiffs are dealing with the repercussions of trauma and physiological damage and are seeking accountability and justice for the state of Nevada for protecting prostitution and profiting from it.

We know these two plaintiffs are not the only survivors who have been sexually exploited for profit thanks to the state of Nevada. Through this lawsuit, survivors are taking a stand and shining a light on the dark side of regulated  prostitution with which Nevada is complicit. It is clear that the state of Nevada is profiting from sexual exploitation and that it will continue to do so if left unchallenged.

China’s Stunning Green Energy Collapse Should Come As No Surprise

As reported in the FrontPageMag article “Red China Tried To Go Green, Now It’s Going Dark,” the U.S. is currently experiencing widespread supply chain disruptions caused in part by China’s disastrous renewable energy collapse, which has led to a severely crippled economy brought on by widespread power blackouts.

Democrats tout green energy as a “clean” and “renewable” source of electricity. They also say that producing green energy has minimal impact on the environment (that’s a flat-out lie). For those who have been led to believe that green energy is “clean,” I strongly urge them to watch Michael Moore’s jaw-dropping documentary, “Planet of the Humans.”

The 2019 feature length film exposes the Democratic Party’s push for subsidized wind and solar energy for what it is: a brazen environmental hoax that causes eye-popping harm to the environment, while funneling billions of taxpayer dollars to Al Gore and other inside investors in government-backed green energy projects.

Australia’s Green Energy Collapse

China is not the only country that got slammed by the green energy hoax.

A 2012 article trumpeting the alleged success of Australia’s green energy subsidies includes an image of a kangaroo back-dropped by a sun-drenched sky. The image was used to conjure the happy thought illusion of a future filled with a limitless supply of cheap and clean renewable energy. You can see that image here.

Three years later, in 2015, the Daily Signal published an article titled “In Australia, the Green Energy Fantasy Has Collapsed.” Excerpt:

“Following in the footsteps of Germany, Spain and Italy, Australia is the latest country to veer away from the duplicitous path of green energy mandates, taxes and subsidies. Earlier this month, Reuters reported the collapse of the wind power market in Australia, causing the country’s Labor government to pull the plug on state subsidies for the renewable energy industry. Without those subsidies, investor interest evaporates.”

While renewable energy was falling flat on its face Down Under, a procession of doomed-to-fail green energy projects were launched in the U.S., where billions of dollars of taxpayer subsidies funded wind and solar start-ups by politically connected allies of the Obama administration.

To gain support for what turned out to be a long trail of failed renewable energy projects, President Obama repeatedly assured American voters that the projects would not only save the planet, but would also produce an abundance of high-paying green energy jobs, the same thing that was told to voters in Australia.

Green Jobs Bull in Spain

Voters in Spain were given the same assurance. But in the birthplace of corrida de toros, government assurances that subsidized renewable energy projects would create an economic boom for the ages turned out to be a big load of green jobs bull.

According to a 2009 study at Madrid’s Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, promises of a green jobs bonanza proved to be pie in the sky. The study, conducted by Professor Gabriel Calzada, found that for every green job created, Spain lost 2.2 jobs in other sectors of the economy.

The result? Unable to remain globally competitive, Spanish manufacturers moved in droves to other countries, taking with them many of their most talented employees. With the beleaguered nation’s economy in shambles from having been saddled with stratospheric carbon taxes, unemployment soared to 26% in 2013, forcing Spain to put its green energy bull out to pasture.

Green Jobs Bull Returns to the White House

During the 2020 presidential campaign, Joe Biden promised voters he would lead the devastated Covid economy to an epic comeback by “Building Back Better.” How? By creating an endless stream of green energy jobs, the same bogus promise President Obama made.

Biden’s campaign website boldly stated that he would “make the largest investment in history in American innovation, including research to unlock and deploy new zero-carbon technologies for the future, and create stable, well-paying jobs across the U.S.”

Translation: Open wide, gullible Americans. You’re being fed a heaping plate of green jobs bull.

To trick voters to acquiesce to the knee buckling carbon taxes called for in the Green New Deal, President Biden is using the same renewable energy scam described in Michael Moore’s “Planet of the Humans.” Please be sure to watch the film and share it with your friends and family. Seeing it will forever change the way low information voters look at renewable energy.

The Elmer Gantry of Renewable Energy

Global movements that demand trillions of dollars in new taxes should be judged by the credibility of their most outspoken advocates. In the environmental arena, no one is more outspoken than Al Gore.

Few insiders have personally profited from the renewable energy scam more than the former vice president. When he left office in 2001, his net worth was estimated at $1 million to $2 million. Since then, his wealth has skyrocketed to $300 million. If the New Green Deal legislation he supports is enacted, he stands to become a billionaire.

Much of his enviable fortune has come as an inside investor in renewable energy projects that went belly-up, but not before politically connected insiders made off with millions, leaving hardworking U.S. taxpayers stuck with the bill.

Like all wealthy eco-preachers, the Elmer Gantry of Renewable Energy uses his immense wealth to indulge in lavish living. When asked by Rep. Marsha Blackburn during his 2009 testimony before Congress whether he personally profits from his advocacy of global warming, Pastor Al professed a vow of poverty: “Every penny I have made I have put into a non-profit deal, the Alliance for Climate Protection, to spread awareness of why we have to take on this challenge. And Congresswoman, if you believe the reason I have been working on this issue for 30 years is out of greed, you do not know me.” If you’ve never seen the tense encounter, you do not want to miss it:

Turned out Rep. Blackburn knows him quite well. As the proud owner of a gargantuan green energy fortune, Pastor Al looked her squarely in the eye and denied making even a penny of profit. If every penny he makes goes into a non-profit deal, how did he end up with $300 million? The same way his alter ego pilfered money from the Lord: by concealing his true stripes.

Take the RED PILL of SOCIALISM and You Will Surely PERISH

I spent my 23-year U.S. Army career fighting against the former Soviet Union. The communists sold the Russian people on the idea that socialism would set them free from the bondage of the Czar and make them equal.

It did set them free from the Czar and did make them equally poor. It also killed 60 million people under the dictatorship of Joseph Stalin. The Russian Revolution of 1917 created pain, suffering, destruction and death.

It destroyed the Russian, and after WW II, the East German, Polish, Czechoslovakian, Ukrainian, and all other countries lured by the siren songs of socialism into a deep, dark, cold and deadly place called Communism.

Socialism in America

Ayn Rand wrote:

“There is no difference between communism and socialism, except in the means of achieving the same ultimate end: communism proposes to enslave men by force; socialism by vote.”

In America we have now “elected” a socialist administration. Biden, his handlers and appointees make no bones about it.

To implement Socialism this administration and the Democrat controlled Congress are using mandates, government agencies and public policy to provide greater control over each and every single American.

Helping them are the legacy media, social media and even some well known Hollywood actors and directors.

The onslaught is relentless. Mask mandates, social distancing, mandated vaccinations, lockdowns, vaccine passports, etc. are all about control.

Add to these mandates for power and control are:

  • Environmental policies that are anti-fossil fuels and pro-green energy.
  • Anti-Christianity policies that create anti-Semitism and anti-freedom of religion policies that support causes such as abortion, vaxx mandates and giving a pass to Islamic extremism.
  • The growth of government over the people.
  • Efforts to disarm law abiding Americans.
  • And finally, the big lie that the Biden administration wants to unify Americans while supporting groups like Black Live Matter, Defund The Police, Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) and Antifa while demonizing parents who speak out about the teaching Critical Race Theory in public schools.

Conclusion

America finds itself at a tipping point.

As Ronald Reagan said, “Freedom is a fragile thing and it’s never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by way of inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people.”

The time for all men and women who value their freedoms to unite and stand together.

Our only options are peaceful civil disobedience or a second American revolution.

The time is now. Time to do what’s right not what’s easy.

The following 13-minute video was recorded in Shelby County, Tennessee which includes the incorporated cities and towns of Memphis, Arlington, Bartlett, Collierville, Germantown, Lakeland and Millington.

The recording shows people being restricted from entering a school board meeting by police, many because they are not masked.  It so reminds me of the East German Stasi who were ordered to kill those who tried to climb the wall, tunnel under or balloon ride to freedom to West Germany.  No, it’s not that bad, but this is how it starts.

There are a number of folks gathered outside the building and one officer speaks to them several times.  Throughout the video, he touches and adjusts his face diaper time and again.  Every time he touches that mask, he infects it with more bacteria and then breathes it into his lungs.  Dr. Richard Urso who spoke at America’s Frontline Doctors White Coat Summit commented that he wished masks worked, but there are zero randomized control trials in the last four decades that masks stopped the spread of respiratory illness.

This officer stated that school security is in charge of who comes in and who comes out.  What?!  Every parent who wants to attend the school board meeting should be allowed to.  Folks with medical exemptions for masks were not even allowed to enter.

The section for public comment at this public meeting has been disallowed to the people who will not follow and obey the orders of the hierarchy of Shelby County.  Many of the officers actually turned their badges around so you could not read their names or their badge numbers.  When asked for their names and badges, they walked away.  When police were inside the building, they were told to adjust their cameras and turn off the audio so the parents outside could not hear what was being said.

These parents were denied entrance to a public meeting that affects their own children.  And just who created the mask mandate?

Police Officer Thornton told the people he was going by the executive order of the Health Department of Shelby County.  Therein lies the truth.  This officer is just taking and following orders to keep his job, despite the order being constitutionally false.  We are seeing clearly throughout the country and even in Red States, control by those who were never elected.

In Charlotte Iserbyt’s 1999 book, The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America, on page 134, she exposes the truth of communism and the unelected powers who rule.

Her book states the following:

The Daily World of November 8, 1975 carried a very interesting article entitled “Planning is Socialism’s Trademark” by Morris Zeitlin.  The Daily World (newspaper of the Communist Party USA) was formerly known as The Daily Worker and was founded in 1924.  The importance of this article lies in its blatant admission that regionalism, which is gradually becoming the accepted method of unelected governance in the United States (unelected councils and task forces, participatory democracy, public-private partnerships, etc.) is the form of government used in democratic socialist and communist countries.

I beg of my fellow Americans to wake up and smell the decay of our Republic…we are dying.  The only thing that will save us is if more people like the folks in this video stand up and demand the freedoms God gave us and our founders recorded in both the Declaration of Independence and our Constitution and especially our unalienable Bill of Rights.

Stand for freedom, or ultimately, we’ll be on our knees in slavery.

While the Justice Department pursues ordinary parents as domestic terrorists for speaking out at school board meetings, it’s fair to say our leaders wouldn’t recognize a real threat to national security if it slapped them in the face.

The chief software officer of the Air Force just quit, warning China is winning the military cyber and artificial intelligence race, and there’s no time to waste.  Other experts have called for a ban on AI transfers to China. China has built three new missile fields, totaling almost 250 new silos bringing China to virtual parity with the U.S. in ICBMs.  The commander in charge of U.S. strategic nuclear forces warns Russia is on the same path and our own outdated missile capabilities need strengthening.  But Democrat Elizabeth Warren and her allies in the White House are pushing for us to disarm.

China now has advanced stealth drones that can fly for 20 hours and attack submarines.  They also have smaller attack drones that have been called ‘flying grenades’.  Moreover, China is steadily developing the ability to attack us from space, at a time when irresponsible Democrats in the House are moving to abolish the U.S. Space Force.

North Korea has new train-launched missiles, as well new long-range cruise missiles that might have nuclear capability.

Iran blocked international arms control inspectors from its nuclear sites last month. In case you don’t know, Iran is pursuing nukes and ICBMs that can hit U.S. allies and interests.

So what are our leaders doing while challenges to national security continue to mount?  Our woke Pentagon just made it easier for political appointees and congressional staffers to gain access to the crown jewels, the Defense Department’s most secret programs.  They will no longer be asked if they have foreign associations or have gotten themselves into debt lately.  Possible treason is not the only concern.  A critic inside the Pentagon said get ready for leaks to the press of highly sensitive information, because they are surely coming.  Meanwhile, a defense watchdog found the military is over-reliant on foreign pharmaceutical suppliers and can’t even be bothered to figure out where its medicines are coming from.

We are not being well-served by the chuckleheads in the Pentagon and the White House.  It’s time we demand better.  It’s time we demand our leaders get back to basics and focus on national security like they’re supposed to.  If you think all the woke stuff and chasing after parents as domestic terrorists is what’s important, all I can say is the world is a dangerous place and I hope you have a country left to be woke in.  But if you have any sense, start talking to your elected representatives about the importance of national security, and don’t wait until the next election to do something.  It’s your Republic.  Time for you to step up and maintain it, because our current crop of leaders won’t.

America Contracts Staff Defection at Mandate Injection Site

On Tuesday, the Biden administration launched the long-anticipated process to force employees to take the vaccine. The Operational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) took twice as long to draft the “Emergency Temporary Standard” as they initially predicted, but it finally sent the text to the Office of Management and Budget for review. Still, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki refused to give a timeline for a final rule, saying only “it should be an indication that it’s there and now it is being reviewed.”

Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wisc.) suspected the administration’s foot-dragging is a game, holding the rule so long that the advertised compliance deadlines “are occurring within the next month.” This keeps businesses guessing and pressures them to pre-emptively vaccinate their employees out of fear that if they wait until the federal mandate is issued, “it’ll be too late” for them to make the required changes.

Johnson predicted this shell game will be “devastating for our health care system,” as health care workers who refuse to get the vaccine are forced out of already understaffed health care facilities. These were “the heroes of the pandemic,” said Johnson. “They were exposed, some died, most survived.” But federal regulators are ignoring mounting evidence that natural immunity provides better protection than the vaccines, which have an increased risk of an adverse reaction. Most hospitals receive Medicare and Medicaid federal dollars and are therefore requiring their staff to be vaccinated under Biden’s federal employee mandate. Already, 4,700 health care workers have been fired for refusing to get the vaccine.

And it will be “devastating to our economy,” added Johnson. Workers forced out of their jobs over a vaccine won’t be confined to the health care sector. Employees at Southwest Airlines and American Airlines are suing their employers to block those corporations’ vaccine mandates. Johnson said “large trucking companies believe they’ll lose all of their truckers to the smaller companies” distributing goods less efficiently and disrupting the supply chain even further.

America has already stumbled into unprecedented economic hazards, said Dan Celia, president and CEO of Financial Issues Stewardship Ministries. “There is no history that is going to give us any indication” of how to respond. With a backlog of thousands of cargo ships waiting to enter western ports, the economy is still sustaining aftershocks from the giant supply chain quakes of the last 18 months — caused by factory shutdowns in Asia, international travel bans, and a ship stuck in the Suez Canal.

America is also suffering from a “self-inflicted energy crisis” that has raised gasoline prices 42.1 percent in the past year. Skyrocketing energy prices are one factor contributing to a 5.4 percent increase in consumer prices over one year ago, the highest rate in 30 years. Unions are responding by demanding higher wages, with up to 100,000 workers threatening to strike, even while a record 4.3 million workers left their jobs in August and many businesses struggle to find workers to fill jobs. On top of everything else is $28 trillion (and counting) in national debt, perched precariously enough to bury the entire system. “We have lost our ability to grow our way out of this,” Celia lamented.

To restore America to a sound financial footing, Celia prescribed economic growth and slimming down the government. Instead, the Biden administration is trying to shepherd another $3.5 trillion in spending through Congress, which will be paid for with more debt, more taxes, and more tax collectors. The Biden administration also continues to proceed with a vaccine mandate that could force more workers to leave their jobs. “Get a jab or lose your job” is not what the doctor ordered.

New Inflation Numbers See the Fastest Rise in 13 Years

That the American people haven’t stormed the Bastille and thrown this fraudulent administration out on its treasonous ass is a testament to the continuing power of the Democrat propaganda media.

Wall Street Journal: 

Is inflation still “transitory,” as the Federal Reserve and White House like to say? Not if you’ve been visiting the grocery store, gas pump, online retailer, or anywhere else across the U.S. economy. The Labor Department said the consumer price index rose 0.4% in September, up from 0.3% in August. This means the price level has increased 5.4% in the last 12 months and 6.5% on an annual basis so far in 2021. This is the largest year-over-year increase since 2008, and the details in the report add to the evidence that inflation is likely to be persistent (WSJ).

“Prices are rising, real wages are down, and Americans are struggling to get back to work—all hallmarks of Joe Biden’s Build Back Broke agenda. The War on America by Twisted Logic

We are living under a regime that’s increasingly totalitarian. And it is using an insidious strategy — call it disinformation, propaganda, gaslighting, indoctrination, or outright lying — to achieve the leftists’ political and social goal of a “Great Reset” of America. The regime’s enforcers, or boosters, are the media, academia, and Big Tech, who together control the narrative with faked statistics, slanted semantics, and endless repetition. They also deploy the psychological tactics of intimidation, shaming, and canceling. At the center sits the government, but the chain of command — who dictates to whom — is often unclear.

“Repeat a lie often enough, and it becomes the truth” is a principle often attributed to Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels. In America today, “woke” social justice warriors are using a continuous barrage of lies to achieve their Machiavellian agenda.

Four recent, egregious lies come to mind. In June 2020, Gordon Klein, a UCLA business school professor who has taught at the institution for forty years, was suspended for refusing a student’s request to provide an easier exam for black students. Black students, it was propounded, were emotionally distressed after the death of serial felon George Floyd in Minneapolis. The email exchange between Klein and the student, which went viral, was deemed “hurtful,” and the professor was unreasonably branded an “insensitive bigot.” Antonio Bernardo, the school’s dean, organized a smear campaign against Klein and sought permission to fire him.

Klein stood his ground, saying he was shocked by the student’s request, which he found “deeply patronizing and offensive” to black students. He also assessed, rightly, that granting the request would violate the California constitution’s prohibition of “race-based preferences in public education.” But such has been the effect of woke indoctrination that, incomprehensibly, students called for his removal and gathered 20,000 signatures on a petition demanding that he be relieved of his teaching duties.

In its eagerness to be seen as woke in the current racially charged atmosphere, UCLA chose to ignore the abject harassment of its professor, sided with the crybullies, and suspended Klein. Fortunately, an academic senate committee ruled that instructors are entitled to refuse requests to change grading schemes, and Klein was reinstated three weeks later.

But the retaliation against Klein and others continues. The professor, who was denied a merit raise and is suing UCLA, says the controversy devastated his consultancy practice. Apparently, businesses — like large numbers of college students and faculty — value being seen as woke over scholarship, justice, and integrity.

Washington’s Vaccine Lawsuits
In another case, nodding to the nebulous concept of “cultural relativism,” a federal judge in Detroit defended female genital mutilation (FGM), a procedure banned since 1996 in the U.S. The judge, Bernard Friedman, in 2018 declared the ban on FGM unconstitutional, then (on Sep. 28, 2021) threw out the feds’ case, accepting that the secretive procedure performed on nine minor girls, aged 7 to 12, was merely a “religious ritual.”

The lead defendant, Dr. Jumana Nagarwala, denied performing FGM and referred to the procedure as benign “shaving” — whatever that means. Federal prosecutors had acknowledged the existence of a “secret network of physicians” who were performing the ritual as “part of a religious obligation and cultural tradition” of the Dawoodi Bohra community, to which the girls, Dr. Nagarwala, and other accused belong.

Survivors of the procedure have described it as demonic. They say they have physical and mental scars to show that it went beyond just “a nick” or “shaving,” and that it amounted to “gender violence.” But even though the U.S. Constitution does not provide for absolute freedom of religion and deems certain religious practices crimes, Judge Friedman thought otherwise. His 2018 decision declaring the ban unconstitutional had been appealed by the U.S. House of Representatives, and in 2021, the STOP FMG Act was signed into law, giving federal authorities more power to prosecute those who perform the procedure. But with woke judges like Friedman at the gates, de facto FGM might well become permissible.

The third incident is about the debacle in Afghanistan. The only person under investigation for America’s avoidable surrender to the Taliban is Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller, a decorated Marine who’s in the brig for telling the truth about the Kabul airport suicide bombing and calling for accountability from military leadership. This while Biden has armed the terrorists with $83 billion in U.S. weapons and stranded thousands of Americans and Afghans who contributed to the U.S. effort in country. The incarceration of Scheller contrasts sharply with the absolving of Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the author of the disastrous withdrawal. This is the same general who bashed Trump and the Republicans, promoted BLM, and called up his Chinese counterpart to say he would warn of any American attack. A patriot has been silenced; a traitor is free to pursue his woke agenda for the military.

Perhaps the most bizarre of logic-defying anomalies that are becoming commonplace is the National School Boards Association (NSBA)’s letter to the Biden administration demanding that anti-terrorist laws such as the PATRIOT Act be used against parents protesting against curriculum content and school mandates. Parents have of late been extremely vocal against the teaching of the Marxist Critical Race Theory (CRT), the use of sexually explicit material in the classroom, the promotion of gender fluidity, and implementation of severe COVID-19 restrictions. The NSBA has asked the FBI, the Secret Services, and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to “investigate, intercept, and prevent the current threats and acts of violence” by whatever “extraordinary measures” necessary. Mischaracterizing the First Amendment right to assembly and protest as “hate crimes,” it has demanded the removal of protesters from school grounds.

Social justice warriors use such hyper-charged rhetoric about reasonable dissent to indoctrinate students and to marginalize and censor parents who object to their subterfuge. Virginia’s Democratic gubernatorial candidate, Terry McAuliffe, even argued that parents have no right to tell schools what to teach. Vetoing legislation that gave parents the right to decide on books used in schools, he said, “I’m not going to let parents come into schools, and actually take books out, and make their own decision.” Even when the books contained sexually explicit material. Not unexpectedly, U.S. attorney general Merrick Garland has instructed the FBI to mobilize against dissenting parents.

The examples cited illustrate how the cultural Marxists’ agenda has infiltrated our schools, universities, military, courts, and beyond. Together with the government, the woke cabal functions as a quasi-totalitarian regime that advances a deceitful agenda and suppresses — or “cancels” — all contrary views, disguising the truth beyond recognition. The dissonance, and concurrent unease, of the condoning of BLM and Antifa’s violence, the exoneration of military incompetence and treason, and the criminalization of legitimate dissent represents a series of “through the looking glass” moments for the average “unwoke” American. As ex-radical and conservative writer and policy advocate David Horowitz declares, “inside every progressive is a totalitarian screaming to get out.”

Teen suicide and transgenderism

I was sixteen the first time I heard my mother curse.

She was worn and weary — stretched beyond her maternal limits. From delirious dreams, I sat up, mumbling that I felt sick. From her own crumpled position in a bedside chair, Mom scrambled for the emesis bowl too late, triggering her exasperated expletive. Who could blame her, after our late-night trip to the ER and the projectile vomiting that began as soon as I walked through the hospital’s sliding doors?

I felt so bad about the mess I was making. I apologised profusely in between heaves, reaching out and cupping my hands to try to catch it, as if that would somehow help. Soon a thin tube was up my nose and down my throat, liquid charcoal slowly descending, making its way to my stomach to absorb the numerous prescriptions I consumed in my first major suicide attempt. Most of what had been in our downstairs bathroom medicine chest was now in me.

After sexual abuse at age ten, my subsequent years had been filled with suicidal ideation. I hated myself, and I hated my female body, scorning it as the source of my vulnerability and betrayal. As I developed, I sought an androgynous appearance, which for me was both a style and a shield. I could tie a man’s necktie as deftly and neatly as my father, I wore one so often.

At sixteen, I could not envision a healthy self, an “untainted” body free from shame. Suicide had long been a false siren in my imaginings, offering relief and a way of escape. I didn’t really want to die, but I needed help, and this attempt was my desperate cry for it.

Suicide obviously wasn’t the right answer, but were pharmaceuticals the solution? I immediately became attached to Dr. Richards, the soft-spoken, fatherly psychiatrist who was on call that night. I continued for several years under his care, but the main thing I got out of our sessions was his kind attention. I remember Transactional Analysis circles, Ids, Egos, and arrows, and very little else. Most interestingly, I was being treated for a “chemical imbalance”. My showing up at the hospital full of pills led to my being put on more pills, as if my problem primarily were somehow in my brain.

But as Robert Whitaker, a Pulitzer Prize finalist for his investigative journalism on psychiatric medicine, observes, “our mental health arises in environments, not just the inside of our head”. As I progressed from one medication to another to see what might help, Dr. Richards and I did not talk about the sexual abuse. Curiously, he insisted to my mother that my despair was so deep, there had to be an earlier trauma, something that happened before the age of two. My mother responded as insistently that nothing had happened before that fateful summer of abuse.

I can only shake my head now at this erudite physician’s puzzling over me. I am adopted, yet no thought of any effects from that primal wound ever crossed his or my mother’s mind. I realise now that my ER apologies have been operating in some form for most of my life: I’m sorry for being here, sorry for the trouble, sorry for the mess I am making. . . .

Adoptees happen to be overrepresented among those presenting at clinics with gender dysphoria. I can see my mother’s haggard face and imagine her plight had my 1980s gender-bending taken the form of “coming out as trans,” as it does today. Mom was already under so much pressure — vulnerable, afraid, and desperate to help. I imagine white-coated professionals telling her what parents hear today: to affirm my trans identity right away or prepare for a completed suicide. Are those really the only two options? For a movement that decries the binary, its commitment to this discrete dichotomy is relentless.

The “rush to treat” is a recipe for irreversible damage and regret. The brave detransitioned woman Keira Bell, who was put on puberty blockers after three one-hour sessions, knows this all too well. Her successful legal efforts to protect other young people from similar harms were overturned on appeal in the U.K. just a few weeks ago. Thus, the medicalised gender pathway has been reopened to children and distressed teens once again, with no oversight outside the questionable clinic required.

In acute situations of crisis, parents and young people need immediate help, as well as support to slow down and aim for the best long-term outcomes. This is similar to the wisdom of not making major decisions after a significant loss or in a time of grief. But that is not what is happening. Instead, parents are led astray by a rogue and en vogue “trans-affirmative” medical establishment, in which financial and ideological motivations override good clinical practice. As with Keira Bell, clinicians now often begin with suppressing puberty instead of dealing with suppressed problems.

In an excellent recent article, distinguished psychiatrist Stephen Levine reminds us that good clinical practice entails addressing any new symptom with the question, “Why is this occurring now?” When affirmative clinicians have patients presenting with gender identity conflicts, they may not even pose this question, thinking it irrelevant and in conflict with their concerns for “patient autonomy.” But Levine reminds us that “today’s passion can be tomorrow’s regret. Making a diagnosis of gender dysphoria is easy. Thinking about what it is a response to is not”.

Responsible clinicians who do want to explore and address the trauma that is quite common among trans-identified youth may be rebuffed by young people conditioned to look for the solution in a pill. Describing their own clinic experiences, a group of Australian professionals reported that “a large subgroup of children equated affirmation with medical intervention and appeared to believe that their distress would be completely alleviated if they pursued the pathway of medical treatment”. These magic-bullet beliefs were the product of peer influence, social media, and previous encounters with other healthcare workers.

The authors lamented that their efforts to explain the risks and engage in authentic therapeutic exploration “fell on deaf ears.” They also note that the “same overall dynamic also put many parents . . . in a difficult and untenable situation”. Parents almost always desire to be supportive and relieve distress, but they have a responsibility to seek out how best to achieve these goals while avoiding unnecessary risks and potential long-term harms. As recent legislation and court rulings show, concerned parents aren’t empowered. Medicalised affirmation is.

Elsewhere Levine describes what true informed consent looks like. It involves pointed questions, such as, “What have you considered the nature of your life will be in ten to twenty years?”

At sixteen, I couldn’t begin to answer that question, as I could not envision a long-term future. After my overdose, I resisted what became a two-month in-patient stay because I didn’t want to get behind in school. When Dr. Richards pointed out I had just tried to kill myself, I assured him that since that had failed, I was back to my other plan — escaping the pain of my current situation through early graduation. I harboured hopes that perhaps if I accelerated a move to the next stage of life, it would be different somehow. Finishing high school was as far as my envisioning went.

What would my life look like in ten or twenty years? At twenty-six, I was in graduate school, seeing yet another therapist, crying uncontrollably and saying it was finally time for me to deal with the sexual abuse. The best advice Dr. Richards, my gentle Jewish psychiatrist, had given me was to read Viktor Frankl. Perhaps my tears, so long suppressed, were finally bearing witness: I was facing things I could not change and finding “the courage to suffer”.

At thirty-six, I became engaged to the man who is now my husband and the father of my two children. The thought of making decisions at sixteen that would have precluded these outcomes, my two children most of all, makes me shudder.

Today, I calculate the odds of my making it whole-bodied through the age of Instagram and social media engineering as small. A double mastectomy would have been my chosen fate, as if my breasts were the thing that was wrong, and not what was done to them. I could easily have chased the next stage of transition rather than matriculation in hopes it would cure what ailed me. But successive graduations didn’t heal me any more than successive surgeries would have.

Advocates of “gender-affirming care” congratulate themselves for helping kids “live their best lives”. Yet, as the leaders at the Society for Evidence-based Gender Medicine recently reminded us, in the original Dutch study of seventy kids who took puberty blockers between 2000 and 2008, subjective ratings of their depression levels improved by only three points out of sixty-three after receiving the treatment. On a scale of zero to one hundred, the children’s overall functioning improved only four points. Other measures revealed no gains at all. All of the children then proceeded to cross-sex hormones. Fifty-six children went on to have surgery, one of whom died from post-surgical complications.

These are drastic interventions, leading to “improvements” that are minimal at best. There are worlds of difference between a few points on a psychological inventory checklist and robust future life outcomes such as marrying, having children, education, employment, and intact family relations. Overall well-being, both physical and mental, and authentic human flourishing should be the measure of success.

In the past, patients who were rejected for sex reassignment surgery seemed less apt to be upset, and no dire threats of impending suicide were given. In one study, eleven out of fourteen such patients expressed no regrets over not having transitioned upon follow-up.

What happened instead? The majority “found other ways of dealing with their gender problem to the point that they actually reported having less gender dysphoria”. Even the study’s authors — themselves supporters of transitions — admitted at the time that such a resolution was preferable to more invasive treatment methods. But that study is twenty years old now, and such wisdom and caution have long been cast off.

Joey’s New Digs

Well it seems that Joey is now doing his live (with enlarged teleprompter, of course,) speeches in a duplicate oval office across the way from the authentic Oval Office.  It comes with some nice scenery of the fake rose garden in the background, with lovely children’s desks for Joey and his sometime guests.  I’m pretty sure all previous Presidents did the same thing ……then again, on second thought, no former President has done this.  That’s Joey, always setting the trend.

Word is that this set was used for the show, The Dating Game.  There are now reports that Joey himself wants to try his hand at the show.  They could blow out the hair plugs for a younger look, and he could wear his dashing aviator sunglasses.  Then the young girls could start asking Joey questions.  Like for instance, what he does for a living. Joey could say his first job was working for a lumber company, like he said earlier this year, Boise Cascade was the company, I believe.  Little problem with that as the company has no record of this.  Ok, skip that.  Maybe he could tell them how he used to drive 18 wheelers cross country.  Well that may not fly, because there is no record of him obtaining a CDL license, required to drive such trucks.

This is where “Dr” Jill comes in handy.  She could whisper in his ear that he is the installed President.  You know, like the time she had to remind Joey he was running against President Trump, when campaigning.  You could barely see her lips move on that one, on the now deleted video………got to love the internet.  Well, Joey said he was getting tired of this game and wanted to go back to the real Oval Office and drive his big wheel around and play race car driver.  So, the Dr” got him an ice cream and his security team led him back.  Word is the contestants were given one of Hunter’s latest masterpieces for their trouble……  for $75,000, that is.  When the press asked Jen Goebbels Psaki who the contestants were, she said they were anonymous, this is our way of keeping the Harris administration transparent .  Hey, but that doesn’t make any…………..President Trump is a racist.

The radical right called this play-set studio absolutely ridiculous!  They say it is just the latest attempt by his handlers to shield him and his severe cognitive decline.  The installed Puppet they say, sitting behind an IKEA child’s desk, playing President is ludicrous.  Seeing as though reporters are no longer present, Joey no longer has to try to get  away and quick step it to the exit, when running away from questions.  Handlers are terrified he is going to start jogging and fall on his face numerous times, like the plane fiasco. Oh, I forgot, that was the wind (wink, wink). Conservatives ask, should we be all warm and fuzzy about having an installed President with access to nuclear weapons, who is unable to answer ANY unscripted questions?  This is the man leading the former number one superpower?   Maybe they could get “General” Milley to call all world leaders, even our enemies to, you know, give them a heads up if Joe is planning anything militarily. I understand Milley has vast experience with this sort of thing.  Some may call this treasonous……..well, if this is done NOW, I’m sure it would be considered treasonous.

Kamala’s Does It All

Not to be out done by all the hype Joey is getting with his new playhouse Oval Office, Kamala is shattering glass ceilings herself.  Where does this woman (are we still allowed to say that?), find the time to do everything?  For instance, the marvelous job she is doing securing our Southern border as the “Border Czar.”  Or being the last one in the room with Joey making key decisions on the Afghanistan debacle, sorry, what did Joey call it again….oh yeah, an “extraordinary success.”  Don’t you just love, little Joey? Then of course we have the important stuff, numerous bakery visits, rigorous, feet to the fire interviews with the View, CNN and of course, coin tosses at college football games.  Oh, and of course, weighing in on systemic racism, and various root causes.

Well her newest venture trumps all, I think.  Describing space exploration to random adolescent children!  Well done Heels, we’ll done.  But as usual the radical right has to be a Debby Downer and ruin Kalamity’s time to shine.

Conservatives point out this video was taped between August 11-13.  Sounds familiar, right Deano, well it should.  That is when Americans and assorted allies were running for their lives trying to escape Afghanistan and the Taliban (extreme terrorist organization.) They are also referred to as professional negotiators, by Blinken, and Peppermint Patti Psaki.  Don’t you just love this administration?

Well, Conservatives ask, how could Ole Heels be making critical decisions with Joey about Afghanistan, when in fact she is talking to adolescent children like they are toddlers about space, at the same time?  They said, this absolutely ridiculous segment where she tells children, “you’ll be able to see the moons craters with your own eyes—-oh my goodness! With your own eyes, I’m telling you. It’s going to be unbelievable.”   Oh, my goodness is right, and of course, insert some ridiculous inappropriate cackling.  Has this woman lost control of her faculties too, or was she on some type of medication?  With all that is going on in this country and abroad, this is how this incompetent administration tries to “hide” this buffoon and train wreck  of a “VP”? Just when you think this woman cannot be more inept, she surprises us time and time again. President Trump is a racist!

Here is the kicker Deano, old sport.  These ”random” children chosen for this Kalamity hour are child actors, with tryouts and all.   I hear even these child actors were mortified at her pitiful overacting performance.  When they questioned her staff, at first they denied knowing the children were professionals.  Then later, after caving in, they said it was out of there control, this is all on you tube, picking the children.  There’s that transparency thing again.  Is it a prerequisite to be a pathological liar, in order to work within any aspect of this installed administration?  On the bright side, we know who is a shoe in for this years razzie award!

Pelosi Gets Back To Work

Well Deano, after Progressives and moderate Democrats shot down Nancy’s promised vote on the $3,500,000,000,000 Build Back Communism bill 3 times, she left with her tail between her legs.  But don’t count the old gal out just yet.  She even held a presser yesterday saying this will pass!  Ya know how she knows that Deano?  I’m glad you asked.  Because Old Nancy said “the American people are heavily in favor of this legislation. Even if they don’t know what is in it!” Now I ask you buddy, how can you argue with that logic.  I’m sure lawyers all over use this same logic on divorce decrees, mergers and acquisitions, home mortgages and the like.  I mean, what could go wrong with this logic.

What’s A Little Stock Tip Amongst Friends

The right just can’t believe she actually said this.  They are suggesting getting the guy who cuts Joey’s mic, when he starts to babble incoherent gibberish, to work Nancy’s pressers too.  They do point out she has been very busy lately though.  She has been giving her husband investment advice as of late, I’m told.  I think the old boy made somewhere in the neighborhood of $5,000,000,000 on big tech stocks over the summer, trading stock options.  He was lucky, because days later the House Finance Committee passed several antitrust bills, that affected their stock price.  Talk about timing , eh Deano?    Nancy denies any impropriety, “devout Catholic,” that she is.  Also, sources say, she may be having a little cosmetic work done.  Just to keep up with Joey, I’m told.  Doctors have cautioned though that anymore work will place Old Nancy’s eyebrows on the back of her head.

Always Honest Reporting By The New York Times

I have to say Deano, that I look forward to reading your newspaper, each and every morning. I can’t describe the smile it puts on my face.  Sometimes it actually makes me laugh out loud.  It must be so gratifying to be in charge of those putting out this pristine, honest journalism.   Your publisher, A.G. Sulzberger must be so proud of carrying on this tradition, his great grandfather started so many years ago.  I don’t know what you’re paying Deano there Slushy, but he deserves a raise, for the integrity he instills in your publication.  Besides, it’s not cheap having multiple estates around the country, like Deano………just ask Bernie Sanders.

But alas, those radicals on the right see you as just the opposite.  Drawing comparisons to your paper as a propaganda rag, just one of the many corrupt tentacles of this installed farce of an administration.  They say the comparisons of The NY Times to Pravda, The National Inquirer, and The Star is totally unfair, as even these publications have more honest reporting and integrity.

Conservatives point out the incessant gaffes and abysmal failed policies from a cognitively challenged, pathological liar and his administration, are somehow always conveniently left out of your “newspaper.”  Second only to CNN, on the propaganda scale, they say.  They wonder how any of you tuck your children in and look yourselves in the mirror.  A special kind of evil, or derangement they say.   Hell bent on trying to destroy our once great country by deceit, lies, and incorporating deep pocket backers to do the dirty behind the scenes work.  But why, is the question?

Theories abound, on who is really behind it all?   Barack Hussein, Susie Rice, Clinton crime family, Georgie Soros, China, etc.  It really doesn’t matter, as long as the big guy gets his 10%, or $500,000 for one of his son’s masterpieces.

One last question.  I reached out to CNN to find out what happened to the Covid death meter.  You know that ubiquitous tote board on 24/7 during President Trumps tenure.  It seems to have miraculously disappeared.  Now that the headcount is over 700,000 deaths, I think little Joey deserves some recognition.  It seemed to be so in vogue last year, I just don’t understand it.  Don’t fret though Deano or Slushy, Joey said he has a plan to stop in in its tracks, campaigned heavily on that promise. Any day now, any day. Maybe he’ll announce it on Christmas.  The kids have to have something to look forward to, all their gifts will be on container ships, somewhere off shore.  Just another feather in Joey’s cap, man he must look like Geronimo by now!  Sorry, no disrespect to Elizabeth Warren.

Millions Died Thanks to the Mother of Environmentalism

On Jan. 24, 2017, PBS aired a two-hour special on Rachel Carson, the mother of the environmental movement. Although the program crossed the line from biography to hagiography, in Carson’s case, the unbridled praise was well deserved – with one exception.

Rachel Carson was an American hero. In the early 1960s, she was the first to warn that a pesticide called DDT could accumulate in the environment, the first to show that it could harm fish, birds, and other wildlife, the first to warn that its overuse would render it ineffective, and the first to predict that more natural means of pest control – like bacteria that killed mosquito larvae – should be used instead.

Unfortunately, the PBS documentary neglected to mention that in her groundbreaking book, Silent Spring, Carson had made one critical mistake – and it cost millions of people their lives.

Carson’s Literary Acclaim

On Nov. 1, 1941, Rachel Carson published her first book, Under the Sea-Wind. Although written for adults, the book had a child-like sense of wonder. Under the Sea-Wind told the story of Silverbar, a sanderling that migrated from the Arctic Circle to Argentina; Scomber, a mackerel that traveled from New England to the Continental Shelf; and Anguilla, an American eel that journeyed to the Sargasso Sea to spawn. “There is poetry here,” wrote one reviewer.

On July 2, 1951, Carson published her second book, The Sea Around Us. Two months later, The Sea Around Us was #1 on the New York Times bestseller list, where it remained for 39 weeks: a record. When the dust settled, The Sea Around Us had sold more than 1.3 million copies, been translated into 32 languages, won the National Book Award, and been made into a movie. Editors of the country’s leading newspapers voted Rachel Carson “Woman of the Year.”

In October 1955, Carson published her third book, The Edge of the Sea, a tour guide for the casual adventurer. The New Yorker serialized it, critics praised it and the public loved it: more than 70,000 copies were sold as it rocketed to #4 on the New York Times bestseller list.

Today, most people under the age of 40 have probably never heard of Rachel Carson. But in the early 1960s, almost every American knew her name.

Demonizing DDT

On Sept. 27, 1962, Rachel Carson changed her tone. Her next book, Silent Spring, which she called her “poison book,” was an angry, no-holds-barred polemic against pesticides: especially DDT.

The first chapter of Silent Spring, titled “A Fable for Tomorrow,” was almost biblical, appealing to our sense that we had sinned against our Creator. “There was once a town in the heart of America where all life seemed to live in harmony with its surroundings. Then a strange blight crept over the area and everything began to change… the cattle and sheep sickened and died… streams were lifeless… everywhere there was the shadow of death.”

Birds, especially, had fallen victim to this strange evil. In a town that had once “throbbed with scores of bird voices there was now no sound, only silence.” A silent spring. Birds weren’t alone in their suffering. According to Carson, children suffered sudden death, aplastic anemia, birth defects, liver disease, chromosomal abnormalities, and leukemia – all caused by DDT. And women suffered infertility and uterine cancer.

Carson made it clear that she wasn’t talking about something that might happen – she was talking about something that had happened. Our war against nature had become a war against ourselves.

In May 1963, Rachel Carson appeared before the Department of Commerce and asked for a “Pesticide Commission” to regulate the untethered use of DDT. Ten years later, Carson’s “Pesticide Commission” became the Environmental Protection Agency, which immediately banned DDT. Following America’s lead, support for international use of DDT quickly dried up.

The Global Killer

Although DDT soon became synonymous with poison, the pesticide was an effective weapon in the fight against an infection that has killed – and continues to kill – more people than any other: malaria.

By 1960, due largely to DDT, malaria had been eliminated from 11 countries, including the United States. As malaria rates went down, life expectancies went up; as did crop production, land values, and relative wealth.

Probably no country benefited from DDT more than Nepal, where spraying began in 1960. At the time, more than two million Nepalese, mostly children, suffered from malaria. By 1968, the number was reduced to 2,500; and life expectancy increased from 28 to 42 years.

After DDT was banned, malaria reemerged across the globe:

  • In India, between 1952 and 1962, DDT caused a decrease in annual malaria cases from 100 million to 60,000. By the late 1970s, no longer able to use DDT, the number of cases increased to 6 million.
  • In Sri Lanka, before the use of DDT, 2.8 million people suffered from malaria. When the spraying stopped, only 17 people suffered from the disease. Then, no longer able to use DDT, Sri Lanka suffered a massive malaria epidemic: 1.5 million people were infected by the parasite.
  • In South Africa, after DDT became unavailable, the number of malaria cases increased from 8,500 to 42,000 and malaria deaths from 22 to 320.

Since the mid-1970s, when DDT was eliminated from global eradication efforts, tens of millions of people have died from malaria unnecessarily: most have been children less than five years old. While it was reasonable to have banned DDT for agricultural use, it was unreasonable to have eliminated it from public health use.

Costing Lives

Environmentalists have argued that when it came to DDT, it was pick your poison. If DDT was banned, more people would die from malaria. But if DDT wasn’t banned, people would suffer and die from a variety of other diseases, not the least of which was cancer. However, studies in Europe, Canada, and the United States have since shown that DDT didn’t cause the human diseases Carson had claimed.

Indeed, the only type of cancer that had increased in the United States during the DDT era was lung cancer, which was caused by cigarette smoking. DDT was arguably one of the safer insect repellents ever invented – far safer than many of the pesticides that have taken its place.

Carson’s supporters argued that, had she lived longer, she would never have promoted a ban on DDT for the control of malaria. Indeed, in Silent Spring, Carson wrote, “It is not my contention that chemical pesticides never be used.” But it was her contention that DDT caused leukemia, liver disease, birth defects, premature births, and a whole range of chronic illnesses.

An influential author can’t, on the one hand, claim that DDT causes leukemia (which, in 1962, was a death sentence) and then, on the other hand, expect that anything less than that a total ban of the chemical would result.

In 2006, the World Health Organization reinstated DDT as part of its effort to eradicate malaria. But not before millions of people had died needlessly from the disease.

Lockdowns Coincided With Record-Breaking Drug Overdose Fatalities, New CDC Data Show

The sad yet inescapable conclusion is that in their efforts to halt one public health crisis, the authorities fueled another.

The first year of the COVID-19 pandemic will go down in American history as one of loss, economic suffering, and social strife. Not only did hundreds of thousands of citizens die of COVID-19, but the sweeping mandates and restrictions governments implemented in the name of slowing the spread had lethal consequences in their own right—the full scope of which won’t be known for decades. Yet new data confirm that fatal drug overdoses hit new highs between March 2020 and 2021, further illuminating the fallout of life under lockdown.

An astounding 96,000 Americans died from drug overdoses over that one-year period, the latest figures released by the Centers for Disease Control reveal. That’s a 29.6 percent increase from the previous year.

“This has been an incredibly uncertain and stressful time for many people and we are seeing an increase in drug consumption, difficulty in accessing life-saving treatments for substance use disorders, and a tragic rise in overdose deaths,” National Institute on Drug Abuse Director Dr. Nora Volkow said earlier this year.

The time period covered by the CDC’s new data includes the Spring of 2020, which was when many parts of the US endured their most sweeping and stringent government lockdown orders. Yes, correlation alone does not prove causation, but there’s no reason to believe that COVID-19 itself would cause such a huge spike in drug overdoses. It stands to reason that the isolation, mental health issues, unemployment, and more caused by the government’s responses to the pandemic, like lockdown orders, would be some of the main factors that drove this tragic increase.

The sad yet inescapable conclusion is that in their efforts to halt one public health crisis, the authorities fueled another. And drug overdoses are, unfortunately, not an outlier or exception. We can observe similar trends in domestic violence, mental health issues, and many other areas where the consequences of unprecedented interventions proved life-threatening in their own right. Taken together, it offers a painful reminder of why policymaking must be humble, and not fall victim to what Henry Hazlitt dubbed “the fallacy of overlooking secondary consequences.”

In Economics in One Lesson, Hazlitt decries “the persistent tendency of men to see only the immediate effects of a given policy, or its effects only on a special group, and to neglect to inquire what the long-run effects of that policy will be not only on that special group but on all groups.”

This perfectly describes the trap that elected officials fell into when responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. They thought they could drastically intervene in our lives using unprecedented restrictions and stop the virus’s spread. They didn’t succeed at that immediate goal. Yet the second-order consequences of their arrogance have proven deadly in their own right, and will continue to mount for decades to come.
