A greedy, self-serving bunch if there ever was one.

It’s time once again for the Fourth of July celebrations in America to get rolling and we thought we’d take the opportunity to point out a little something, a two-headed hydra, the Democratic Party and the U.S. bishops’ conference.

First, let’s look at the Democrats and this guaranteed losing stance.

Yep, all 10 Dem candidates on stage last week promised that their plan is to take your tax dollars and pay health care costs for illegal immigrants, and some of those tax dollars coming from actual citizens who don’t have health insurance themselves.

Turning to the second head of the hydra, the U.S. bishops have more than a dozen times issued pronouncements against Trump’s enforcement of current immigration laws, some of the exact same laws that Obama used to enforce.

Curiously, when Democrat Obama would make speeches or give interviews about illegal immigrants, the U.S. bishops just let it slide.

And why would the bishops not thunder against Obama, you might ask. That’s a good question. A question for the record that the Catholic establishment media never asks, because they can’t tick off their meal ticket.

There are really two reasons the bishops are down with open borders and staging photo ops at the border, and running off a flood of press releases damning Trump.

One reason is their miserable track record of running the Church has resulted in a depressing demographic reality.

For decades, Catholics were about 25% of the total U.S. population — for decades.

But as the Church of Nice, modernist homoheretics slowly tipped the scales and got control of the levers of power, the population of Catholics relative to the total population began to shrink.

Today, it’s down to about 21% of the population. And here’s the truth under those numbers, white European-descent Catholics, in relation to the total population, comprise only about 13 percent.

That is a falling off the cliff — without Hispanic Catholics, many of whom are here illegally, Catholics, who used to be about one out of every four Americans, are now only about one out of every eight or nine.

Most illegal immigrants in the United States come across that southern border and are majority Catholic, so the bishops have latched onto that reality and are using it to shore up their flagging numbers in the pews.

But more than that, money is the overwhelming factor.

Look at these financial numbers from 2016 for Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and Catholic Charities.

Catholic Relief Services received a staggering $426,943,000 in U.S. federal tax dollars. Those federal monies accounted for 65% of the agency’s total 2016 budget.

And Catholic Charities received a not too shabby $202,000,000.

The bishops are getting literally hundreds of millions of dollars from Uncle Sam, and much of this money is earmarked specifically for coping with illegal immigration and refugee resettlement efforts.

The government is not really equipped to administer programs of this size, so they contract the work out — in this case, a half-billion dollars worth of contracts to the bishops.

Interesting to note, the U.S. bishops get as much money from Washington as Planned Parenthood gets.

And here’s another deception by silence on the part of the bishops, they never tell people in the pews when they take up the annual collection for CRS and Catholic Charities that, presuming you are legal and a taxpayer, that you have already contributed to these collections through your taxes.

When Obama first came to office, the USCCB was directly paid a whopping $91 million dollars for Syrian refugee resettlement programs.

As a result, one out of every three dioceses in the country suddenly opened up a refugee resettlement office to cash in.

In fact, another $30-plus million also poured directly into the bishops coffers from Obama’s White House for other programs.

The child killer in chief must have been very grateful to the mitered class for having delivered him the majority Catholic vote in ’08.

But for the supreme show of hypocrisy from the bishops who are always so chest-thumping about welcoming the stranger and so forth — look at the places most of them live.

You couldn’t get past the gates or over the walls with a small army, and of course, Church HQ itself is completely surrounded with a gigantic wall built specifically to keep out potential Muslim invaders, along with others.

And that’s because walls work, which is why so many of the hierarchy have themselves safely ensconced behind them, including the Pope.

And oh yeah, if you somehow manage to get around or over those walls, you’ll get shot and killed — so much for the death penalty being “inadmissable,” to quote Bishop Robert Barron.

The U.S. bishops are simply opposed, flat-out, to border security in complete lockstep with their Democratic sugar-daddies.

They make the irrational argument that the “first duty” of government is to welcome the foreigner and the stranger, specifically as the Immigration Office at USCCB HQ says “to welcome the foreigner out of charity and respect for the human person. Persons have the right to immigrate and thus government must accommodate this right to the greatest extent possible, especially financially blessed nation.”

This is a total perversion of Catholic teaching; it’s Democratic Party talking points made to sound like Church teaching.

The bishops say the “second duty (of government)is to secure one’s border and enforce the law for the sake of the common good.”

So let’s think about this. The first duty of government is to let everybody in who wants to migrate, and the second duty is to enforce the borders.

Well, if you are letting everybody in, then what need does America have for borders and if anyone who want to migrate to the United States gets to come in, how long before the government no longer exists?

A nation is defined by its borders in the most fundamental reality.

But all of this would actually be an argument worth having if the bishops were not getting cumulatively billions of dollars from the government, much of which has been severely cut back by President Trump, and they themselves were actually not living behind walls and or had immigrants sleeping in their palaces.

Those swanky digs up in the woods of New York that Cardinal Dolan commandeered for himself — remember, that $4 million pad — it sure looks like you cram a few dozen immigrant families in there, Your Eminence.

Hypocrisy, money, privilege, sucking at the teats of the Democrats — what a dastardly lot.

Exactly how does a hierarchy maintain any independence when its very infrastructure is supported by federal tax dollars?

Want to know why pro-abort Catholic Democrats are never denounced? Just look at the issue of illegal immigration, the wall and the money handed to them and you have your answer.

When the basket gets passed next time in your parish to contribute to any of this, drop in a note saying, “No thanks, I already paid you with my taxes.”

VIDEO: What Does It Mean to be a Citizen of the United States?

Have you ever watched a naturalization ceremony? This is where people from different countries around the world apply for citizenship, learn English and pass a test, renounce their homeland, and swear loyalty to their new country, the United States of America. You occasionally see it on television, but Youtube! maintains a library of such services.

All U.S. citizens are descended from someone who took the same oath years earlier. With me, it was both sets of grandparents following World War I.

After a ceremony, someone typically speaks on behalf of the group. They talk about why becoming an American citizen is so important to them, such as the ability to vote; they talk about true freedom, and living in the land of opportunity, and their eyes swell with tears, as does their relatives and friends. It is all rather moving.

They come to America because we have so much to offer, and it’s not just public education, health care or other entitlements they seek, these are mere peripherals. They primarily come for freedom and the opportunity to better themselves. They do not want to feel oppression from a word said out of turn, and they desperately want to innovate, invent and earn knowing their work is their own and not the state’s. They come for the protection of the U.S. Constitution, a document which has stood the test of time.

The legal immigrants understand the importance of the country, and are willing to fight for it. Quite often, they know more about the country than those born here. It is not unusual for such natives to be ignorant of our history and government, thereby taking it for granted, and opening the door for others to undermine it. They do not comprehend the blood, sweat, tears of those who worked and fought for such a country to exist.

The United States is not a homogeneous society consisting of the same race, the same religion, and the same tongue. It is a melting pot, which ultimately is our strength, not a weakness, where the knowledge and talents of all countries on earth meet and become one, American. Not surprising, our national character changes over time, e.g.; one moment we prefer isolationism, the next we’re a world power; we sympathize with the oppressed and have come to the aid of others on multiple occasions, thereby becoming a beacon of hope.

Americans are competitive, they appreciate a level playing field, but will rise to the challenge when one is not provided. They work hard and they play hard. They are fascinated by technology, the world around them, and the desire to be the best.

Americans are proud of our past. Sure we’ve made mistakes along the way. We even fought a horrific war among ourselves to settle a principle. However, when you realize this country started with nothing and evolved into a dominant world power, not because of autocratic rule, but because of a Constitutional Republic, our achievements are truly remarkable. Aside from the past, Americans aspire for the future.

There are a three things you should remember about the American character; first, they like to squabble among themselves much like a family, and as such, do not attempt to interfere; second, our weakness is we tend to react as opposed to plan (as evidenced by such things as Pearl Harbor, 911, Hurricane Katrina, etc.); even with this said, third, do not provoke them or underestimate their determination. They will rise to the occasion as they have proven numerous times. The story of America is incredible, and so are the American people.

FL Senator Joe Gruters Visits U.S. – Mexico Border says ‘Make no mistake: the crisis is real.’

In an email to constituents Florida Senator Joe Gruters stated:

“I just returned from the US-Mexico border in El Paso, Texas where I witnessed firsthand the illegal immigration crisis threatening our nation. Make no mistake: the crisis is real.”

“In fact, I believe every member of Congress should be required to visit the border before spouting off partisan rhetoric on the subject.”

Senator Gruters posted the below video of his trip to the border on the Florida Politics YouTube channel:

Senator Gruters announced that he will be conducting a statewide listening tour later this month with Jacksonville Rep. Cord Byrd to hear directly from Floridians on the issue of immigration.

“I don’t believe we should ever compromise when it comes to enacting common sense policies that promote public safety and uphold the laws of the land,” said Gruters. “I want to hear straight from Floridians and listen to their ideas on what additional reforms they’d like to see the legislature address next session.”

The quintessential example of “Chutzpah” is the young man who kills both of his parents and then pleads for mercy arguing that he is an orphan.

The Democrats have succeeded in providing an even more egregious example of demonstrating chutzpah by betraying their oaths of office and betraying their constituents and, indeed, all Americans.

The official report, 9/11 and  Terrorist Travel begins with the following paragraph:

It is perhaps obvious to state that terrorists cannot plan and carry out attacks in the United States if they are unable to enter the country. Yet prior to September 11, while there were efforts to enhance border security, no agency of the U.S. government thought of border security as a tool in the counterterrorism arsenal. Indeed, even after 19 hijackers demonstrated the relative ease of obtaining a U.S. visa and gaining admission into the United States, border security still is not considered a cornerstone of national security policy. We believe, for reasons we discuss in the following pages, that it must be made one.

The Democrats continue to refuse to provide the funding for DHS to address the border crisis that exists along the dangerous and highly porous U.S./Mexican border while complaining about the conditions in which illegal aliens, particularly alien children, are being housed in detention facilities that were never designed to handle the number of aliens currently being housed within their over-crowded confines.

On June 25, 2019 Fox News reported, “Dem-led House passes $4.5B bill to aid migrants at border, setting up showdown with GOP-led Senate.”

While the Democrats balk at the funding of a border wall that would deter the massive tsunami of unprecedented levels of illegal immigration and drug smuggling, their “leaders” are happy to spend huge sums of tax-payer provided cash on caring for illegal aliens who should not be here in the first place!

Of course I would be remiss if I fail to point out that the money for the border wall and other immigration law enforcement efforts was not provided by the Republicans when they controlled the House of Representatives, either.

Here is how that report began:

The House approved a $4.5 billion supplemental spending bill on Tuesday night to address humanitarian issues at the U.S.-Mexico border and to provide additional funding for food, water, medical services and stronger protections for unaccompanied children, among other things — setting up a showdown between the Democrat-led House and the Republican-led Senate.

The House bill, which passed 230-195, included specifics that would prevent the Trump administration from allowing any funding to go toward beefing up Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) personnel at the border, likely to become a point of contention with Republicans.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has outrageously and disgustingly compared immigration detention facilities with “Concentration Camps.”  In one fell swoop she managed to trivialize the Holocaust, stopping just short of denying that it even happened and comparing valiant immigration law enforcement officers with the Gestapo of Third Reich notoriety.

She co-opted the expression “Never again” that is the rallying cry to make certain that a Holocaust is never again permitted to occur, and has now voted against the spending bill that would fund any ICE- related functions, calling for the total dismantling of ICE, a sentiment echoed by many of her Democrat “fellow travelers.”

That she could make such outrageous remarks difficult enough to accept, but that Pelosi and Nadler, Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee and a Jew, have refused to call her out but actually ran to her defense is beyond any comprehension!

As an American, as a Jew and as a retired INS Agent I am triply infuriated by Ocasio-Cortez’s statements.

To provide a bit of clarity:

The Third Reich used its soldiers to round up citizens of the countries where the concentration camps existed.  They were deemed “undesirable.”  These troops would pull their victims, men, women and children out of their homes at gun point and transport them to the Nazi concentration camps that are also appropriately referred to as “Death Camps.”

The victims of the Holocaust who were held in the concentration camps were turned into slaves to build the Nazi war machine and, when through overwork and starvation became ill and unable to work, were slaughtered.

Other victims of the Holocaust were used as the subject of barbaric and horrific medical experimentation.

Many concentration camps had crematoria that operated constantly to incinerate the remains of the inmates, most often Jews.

Although the mainstream media has been quick to refer to the illegal aliens being held in immigration detention centers as “migrants” and “immigrants” and “asylum seekers,” they blithely ignore that these individuals are aliens who are illegally present in the Untied States.

Some “Migrant Workers” who toil on American farms are actually United States citizens.  The term migrant refers to workers who travel from job to job irrespective of immigration status.

Immigration detention centers exist solely to prevent illegal aliens from being able to gain access to our nation.  These aliens are held to protect national security, public safety, public health and the well being of America and Americans.

Most of the aliens who apply for asylum disappear within the interior of the United States when their applications are denied- not because the United States lacks compassion, but because their applications for asylum lack merit.

Many of these hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens are not criminals but should be thought of as economic refugees who will flood America with cheap exploitable labor, thereby displacing American and lawful immigrant workers.  Many will seek health care and various costly benefits and education for their children further burdening our public school systems that already lack the resources to provide quality education for hapless American and lawful immigration children.

Some may suffer from dangerous communicable diseases threatening public health.  And finally some may well be aliens with criminal histories and/or affiliation with violent gangs and narcotics trafficking organizations.  Finally, some may be involved with terrorism and may be “sleeper agents” seeking the opportunity to embed themselves in the United States until called upon to carry out a deadly attack or are tasked with a preparatory assignment to scope our locations, seek to recruit others or commit crimes to fund terrorism.  This is not conjecture by are issues that were raised during a series of congressional hearings conducted even before the terror attacks of 9/11.

Yet funding has never been provided to effectively enforce our nation’s immigration laws.

Having raised the nexus between failures of the immigration system and terrorism at the beginning of my commentary, it is important to note that on June 25, 2019 Fox News reported, “Sept. 11 first responders call sit-down with McConnell ‘one of the best meetings we’ve had.’”

Here is how the report ended:

The House Judiciary Committee passed a reauthorization bill for the 9/11 Victims’ Compensation Fund on Wednesday, where it will now move to the full House and is expected to pass with bipartisan support.

Advocates have rallied to keep the bill alive until 2090, the expected lifespan of first responders who developed illnesses from inhaling toxic fumes during recovery efforts and while clearing rubble at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and Shanksville, Pa. following the terrorist attacks in 2001.

More than 2,000 firefighters, police officers, federal agents and other first responders have died from 9/11-related diseases and that number is expected to climb over time, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s World Trade Center Health Program.

Critics have opposed making the bill open-ended, while advocates have cited the terminal illnesses that many first responders continue to face. More than 40,000 people have applied to the fund and over $5 billion in benefits have been awarded out of the $7.4 billion fund with about 21,000 claims still pending.

The slogan “Never forget” that implores and exhorts us and our leaders to make certain that America is kept safe from future terror attacks, is being completely ignored by politicians who refuse to fund meaningful immigration law enforcement.

These politicians are willfully undermining national security and public safety.

Trump 2020 Landslide

And with the wave of the hand – Trump ‘s election is secured.

Did you watch the Democrat debates? I tried to get through it all but only survived the first 45 minutes or so of each debate, the “A” list debate and the “B” list debate. These debates may have driven the last nail in the coffin for any chance for a Democrat to win the election against Trump. I did call a Trump historical landslide at least a year ago for the 2020 election in one of these weekly posts, but as the President said on Twitter the other day in response to the whether or not the candidates would provide illegal aliens with unlimited healthcare, “All Democrats just raised their hands for giving millions of illegal aliens unlimited healthcare. How about taking care of American Citizens first? That’s the end of that race!” – Donald Trump on Twitter. Yup-lights out-game over!

Bottom Line Take Aways

No American flags. No mention of America. Open borders. Killing babies even after they are born. Medicare for all, no private insurance. Raise taxes to the rafters. Socialism. Oh yeah, transgender women, (born as biological males), are to receive free abortions-boggles the mind. The deep state, the media, the left wing lunatics and the Democrats are imploding and panicking. Their party is over. Things will ramp up last quarter of this year and into 2020 as the deep-state de-class gains momentum, mark my words.

So, in a nutshell, there you have it. The Democrat party of JFK is dead and gone. And so now with these debates behind us and another 16 months of more insanity, our Democrat neighbors, many of them, will be voting for Trump. And according to recent surveys, 18% of the black community supported Trump in 2016 with 36%-39% supporting President Trump today. I agree with the President. It’s lights out, game over. Trump was the winner of these debates.

Action

All that being said, get out and vote. Get other Republicans registered and get them to vote. Let’s get busy on the swing states, the battleground states. The Democrats, independents, blacks and Hispanics are already coming aboard. In my opinion, voter fraud and election theft aside, Trump wins the electoral college and popular vote in a historic landslide. Focus. Get busy. This election will determine whether America has the chance to be resurrected or end up in the dustbin of history. Fight for what’s right as though your life depends on it. Why? because it does. Know your enemies well.

Ukrainian Refugee Charged in Deaths of Marine Bikers in New Hampshire

You’ve probably seen the news.  I know you saw the news about the crash that killed seven members of a NH motorcycle club the day they were killed, but did you ever see any widespread coverage of the arrest of the driver who is charged with their deaths?

I didn’t!  But, we learned from John Binder at Breitbart that “Volodymyr Zhukovskyy, a 23-year-old refugee from Ukraine” was charged with causing the terrible accident.

Now, we hear that ICE has placed a detainer on him.  But, it seems moot at this point.

Surely he isn’t going to be deported before he spends many years behind bars.

And, too bad they didn’t deport him before he killed these good people since he had had several previous run-ins with the law!

A Ukrainian national who came to the United States as a refugee — and who has a drunk driving conviction — has been charged with the deaths of five U.S. Marine Corps Veterans and two of their loved ones after allegedly causing a crash in Randolph, New Hampshire, last week.

Volodymyr Zhukovskyy, a 23-year-old refugee from Ukraine, was charged this week with seven counts of negligent homicide for allegedly killing five U.S. Marine Corps Veterans and two of their loved ones on Friday, June 21, when his trailer hitched to his pickup truck hit the motorcyclists.

The victims were riding motorcycles together as members of the Jarheads Motorcycle Club, a group of U.S. Marine Corps Veterans, their spouses, and loved ones.

A law enforcement official confirmed to Breitbart News that Zhukovskyy originally entered the U.S. on September 18, 2006, as a refugee from Ukraine.

Recently, his father told the Boston Herald, the Ukranian national [new American!—-ed] was able to secure a green card and adjust his refugee status in 2008 to become a permanent legal resident.

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency have a detainer on Zhukovskyy requesting that he be turned over to federal immigration officials should he be released from prison at any time.

Criminal records obtained by the Boston Herald indicate that Zhukovskyy had multiple run-ins with the law dating back seven years.

Why do we need to be bringing so many Ukrainians I want to know!

I don’t know the answer, but I can tell you we are spending millions to bring thousands of Ukrainians directly from the Ukraine!

In fact, after the DR Congolese and the Burmese, Ukrainians are the third largest group of refugees entering the US during the Trump Administration.  Granted they are a mix of religions (no Muslims) and Ukraine has its problems, but why are they our problems?

Checking the data at the Refugee Processing Center for the years, beginning with the one this alleged murderer entered our country as a child (2006), we have admitted 21,071 ‘refugees’ from the Ukraine.

A couple thousand came when the Zhukovskyy family arrived in Massachusetts, then the numbers tailed off for a few years, but since Trump came into office the numbers are climbing steadily.

28% of that total of 21,071 (since FY06) have come during the Trump Administration.

In just the last nine months we admitted a little over 2,600 with 2,097 processed directly in from the Ukraine.

A legitimate refugee is one who has left the country of his or her persecution and fears being returned to it.

It is an uncommon practice for someone to be living where they are supposedly persecuted and then directly being declared a refugee and admitted to the US (they probably even have homes and businesses to sell!).

The number one ‘welcoming’ state for Ukrainians is Washington.  Massachusetts is number seven.

If Trump is reelected, I want to see the whole Refugee Admissions Program scrapped! Only a handful of the most dire cases should ever be admitted and I can tell you these Ukrainians aren’t it!

Unfortunately, Trump left the nine federal refugee contractors in place and recently they began their annual agitation for the number they want to see admitted to the country next year — that number is 75,000 for FY2020 which begins on October 1 of this year.

With too many Muslim migrants, “the continent could become ‘Muslim’ or ‘African.’”

“Only a ‘limited number’ of migrants should be permitted to reside in Europe”

According to globalist labels, these are the “racist“, “Islamophobic“, “intolerant“, “EU democracy-threatening“, “far right“, “Nazi” words of populists like Hungarian leader Viktor Orban, and Italy’s Matteo Salvini right?  Throw in Donald Trump too. Except, that they are not the words of  “populists” who have been logically and responsibly aiming to protect their citizenry and democratic heritage, but are constantly attacked and disparaged, even by the Pope–the blind guide sitting comfortably, wealthy and walled in at the Vatican. These words have been issued by a global leader that is deemed to be a top peacemaker who also teaches the young about how to be peacemakers: “The Dalai Lama”. His words of warning about Muslim migration should be on front pages of the news everywhere, but they won’t be, because they are not what globalists want to hear nor convey to the public. They fear that the Dalai Lama might influence citizens who have been duped into thinking that kindness and charity means to throw out all logic and fling open the doors to every and anyone regardless of their background activity or their goals.

The Dalai Lama went on to instruct:

“Dalai Lama: Europe Will Become ‘Muslim’ if Migrants Allowed to Stay”, by Thomas D. Williams, Breitbart, June 27, 2019:

The Dalai Lama insisted Wednesday that “Europe is for Europeans,” warning that if too many migrants are allowed to stay, the continent could become “Muslim” or “African.”

The Buddhist spiritual leader, who has been living as a refugee in India since fleeing Tibet in 1959, told the BBC that only a “limited number” of migrants should be permitted to reside in Europe.

The 83-year-old said Europe should take in refugees and offer them an education, but then send them back to their homelands.

“European countries should take these refugees and give them education and training, then the aim is return to their own land,” he said.

The BBC host asked what should happen if migrants want to stay in their adopted countries, to which the Dalai Lama replied:

“A limited number is OK, but whole Europe eventually become Muslim country? Impossible. Or African country? Also impossible.”

Asked what was wrong with the scenario of Europe becoming Muslim or African, he said: “They themselves I think better to their own land. Keep Europe for Europeans.”

This was not the first time the Tibetan leader has voiced these opinions……

Trump Should Act Quickly to Secure 2020 Census Question in Light of Court Ruling

EDITORS NOTE: Since the publication of this column President Trump has put forward the idea of delaying the 2020 Census until this lawsuit is settled.

The Supreme Court’s Thursday decision relating to the 2020 census split a baby that should have remained whole.

The question at hand was whether the Trump administration could add a question about citizenship to the 2020 census. The court found that adding such a question would not violate the Constitution, but that the administration’s justification for doing so—enforcing the Voting Rights Act—may have been “contrived.”

It sent the case back to the lower court for further findings.

That means the secretary of the Commerce Department, which controls the census, gets to fight another day and can justify its decision another way.

The Trump administration should not give up, but instead should fight to justify including the question before time runs out and the Census Bureau has to print out the census forms.

On the whole, we agree with Justice Clarence Thomas’ partial dissent that “our only role in this case is to decide whether the secretary complied with the law and gave a reasoned explanation for his decision. The court correctly answers these questions in the affirmative. That ought to end our inquiry.”

However, that is not what happened, and so the administration must act fast. Failure to do so would be a victory for a very well-organized left and for the administrative state.

This decision should have been uncontroversial and downright boring. Indeed, this issue should have never come to the court in the first place.

It was only there because leftist groups that have controlled the census for decades have spent two years throwing the mother of all tantrums. One can only conclude that they don’t want accurate data on the number of noncitizens in the country.

Conservatives should pay heed and recognize that if the census is this important to liberals, it is probably of some value to conservatives, too.

They should follow this 2020 census effort by eliminating all race categories from the 2030 census, as these constitute the warp and woof of the identity politics ideology that these advocacy groups push.

These challengers—including the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund and Asian Americans Advancing Justice—have pursued a full-court press, oratorically and legally, since the Trump administration announced two years ago it wanted the citizenship question reinstated on the 2020 census for the first time since 1950.

(Yes, reinstated. The question previously appeared on census forms dating back to 1820, at the recommendation of President Thomas Jefferson.)

The left’s unfair, inflammatory rhetoric has been over the top.

“The American people will not tolerate the Trump administration exploiting the census in order to carry out their racist and xenophobic policies,” claimed Michael Brune of the Sierra Club.

“This egregious citizenship question is a political effort to weaponize the census to redefine American democracy,” said Vanita Gupta, president and CEO of the Leadership Conference Education Fund.

On the legal front, these groups first filed a lawsuit against the administration in New York City, which culminated in the January decision by a federal judge in Manhattan (an Obama appointee) that the administration had violated the Administrative Procedures Act by acting in an “arbitrary and capricious” manner.

In a similar case, a second Obama appointee in San Francisco held that asking a citizenship question is “unconstitutional.”

It was these cases that came before the Supreme Court.

The leftist organizations didn’t stop there. They kept throwing things against the wall hoping something would stick.

In early June, they released information in a document prepared years ago by a deceased Republican redistricting expert. The document was found by his estranged daughter among his possessions and forwarded to the challengers.

The so-called smoking gun document showed that if citizen population was used to draw electoral maps in Texas, rather than total population, Republicans and non-Hispanic whites might benefit—hardly earth-shattering news.

Indeed, the truth is that in other states, this would also benefit Hispanics—a large umbrella group that covers Americans of many origins, many of whom vote for Democrats.

In a move that evokes the left’s desperation during the Kavanaugh hearings, liberals trotted out the information, claiming—without any proof whatsoever—that the Justice and Commerce departments had “relied” on this information in making the decision to reinstate the citizenship question.

The administration’s lawyers vigorously denied this unsupported and unproven claim, which activists sent to the Supreme Court late in the game, well after oral arguments, as it was preparing to issue its decision.

Did these strategies play a role in the court’s decision? It’s hard to say. If so, then the justices who remanded the decision to the lower court gave in to an organized mob.

But let us all put aside the last-minute theatrics and the legal sleight of hand, and get right down to the point of this entire controversy.

My friend Jim Geraghty hits the nail on the head when he writes in National Review that many leftists want to live in a borderless world where the nation-state just withers away.

The problem is that democracy, the rule of law, and the very concept of human rights are territorially constrained and protected.

Natural rights may be universal, but the laws that protect these rights, and the cultures that underwrite these laws, are very much local to the nation.

Groups like the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Asian Americans Advancing Justice, La Raza (now known as UnidosUS), and the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials have for decades used the census to break up and divide Americans into racial and ethnic identity groups—a triumph for them and for identity politics, but a disaster for America’s sense of national cohesion.

These groups are examples of what the social scientist Peter Skerry calls “elite network insiders.”

These groups have “weak community ties,” but they win policy fights because they partake in “a process of specialization and professionalization by which politics become more and more an insiders’ game.”

The racial identities that they’ve intimidated the Census Bureau into adopting are “highly useful to elite-network insiders who are in need of some cogent category that subsumes the disparate population they aspire to represent.” But such categories do no good to the people themselves, or to the nation.

One of the platforms for these organizations is the Census Bureau’s National Advisory Committee on Racial, Ethnic, and Other Populations, where many have a seat.

As I wrote in Quillette a few months ago, few Americans have heard of this committee, but, “along with bureaucrats in other agencies, and various non-governmental ‘stakeholder’ groups on the left, the [committee] has for decades controlled the policy by which demographic data—the seedbed of identity politics—is collected and interpreted.”

On June 14, President Donald Trump issued an executive order to re-evaluate all national advisory committees and eliminate at least a third of them. The census committee, which fought the citizenship question so hard, should be one of the first to go.

So, what should happen now?

The Commerce Department should fight for the citizenship question by providing a new explanation.

The administration should then rescind the 1977 Office of Management and Budget directive that first artificially created pan-ethnic identity groups, such as “Hispanics,” as well as the 1997 revision of that directive.

It’s time we moved back to a culture and society where we consider all Americans to be one people—e pluribus unum (out of many, one)—that are not divided by their skin color or ethnic or family background.

To hell with sovereignty, justice and the safety of America’s citizenry.  Open borders allow cheap labor for American corporations, especially Koch Industries.  Libertarians Charles and David Koch bequeath massive election donations to many Republicans, and now to some Democrats, to keep our southern border a sieve. Enriching Republican coffers allows Koch Industries to be able to hire cheap foreign labor, whether legal or illegal.

Tucker Carlson recently had a six-minute segment exposing the Koch brothers. They consider controlling the border as racist, the notion of “America first” as fascist, and that drugs should be legalized, but what he didn’t tell you was that these Libertarians are devout pro-aborts, and heavily fund organizations promoting a new Constitutional Convention. Link and Link.  Statesmen like the 55 delegates who attended the 1787 Convention would be impossible to find today.  Amnesty remains the Koch brothers’ top priority, anathema to America’s citizenry and job security.  The Koch brothers hold views that have no resemblance whatsoever to what most conservative Constitutionalists believe.

Criminal Invasion

Our Senate Republicans are now weaker than Barack Obama was on the border. The criminal element, including child sex traffickers, MS-13 gang members, drug cartels, terrorists and third world country diseases, long ago eliminated in America, are just collateral damage to those who profit from illegal aliens.

Department of Homeland Security documents produced for the House Oversight Committee revealed that in October of 2018, the Customs and Border Patrol’s Office of Intelligence tracked one caravan with approximately 8,000 migrants who arrived just south of California by December of 2018 and established that 660 of the migrants had U.S. criminal convictions, and at least three are murderers.

President Trump declared a national emergency in February of this year to divert funds from the Pentagon to build a border wall, yet the Democrats are fighting him at every turn.  Congress also refuses to change the dangerous asylum laws attracting these migrants.  New voters…draining the country’s taxpayers dry.

Third World Diseases in America

It’s not just mumps, measles, scabies, the flu, strep throat, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus infections, different viruses, polio, Chagas disease, tuberculosis along with the possibility of typhus that border agents have to deal with, now it is the deadly Ebola virus from African illegals.  They made their way to the U.S. via Ecuador.  Hundreds of illegals from the Ebola ridden Congo and Angola have been dumped in San Antonio, Texas with 350 more on the way.  They made it across the Rio Grande River more than two weeks ago.

After being placed in San Antonio, the illegal immigrants are bused to a destination of their choice by local charities who spend “roughly $14,000 a week on bus tickets.  Interim Assistant City Manager Dr. Colleen Bridger said another 2,300 from the Congo and Angola will be coming to San Antonio and it’s overwhelming the city.  When she asked Portland, Oregon to take some of them, they refused, saying they were already overwhelmed.

The World Health Organization said one in four Ebola infections in the Congo are going undetected and that the country is experiencing the second-worst Ebola epidemic on record.  Yet, we are transferring these illegals throughout our country.  Ebola spreads in the human population through human-to-human transmission.
The virus may linger in men’s semen for more than two years; a new study suggests, but none of these Congo illegals are tested for disease.

Even if Ebola isn’t an issue, there’s plenty of other contagious diseases from other parts of the world that are almost unheard of in the US. And right now, immigration agents are so overwhelmed with the sheer number of migrants that it’s difficult for them to conduct full-blown medical screenings.

The situation underscores the need for the federal government to put proper medical screenings in place to ensure that no one slips through the border undetected with a contagious health condition.

During European immigration to the U.S. through Ellis Island, if anyone was ill, they were quarantined for 40 days. Back then, if it was a spreadable disease, they were sent back to their country of origin to protect America’s citizens. Ellis Island was opened in 1892, and shut in 1954.

Legal immigrants receive medical examinations before they can enter the country, but not the illegals flooding our border and pleading asylum. In Texas, 550 African migrants were just caught and the Texas DHS head says they aren’t being screened for Ebola.

Who Funded the Trip?

Why isn’t the media asking who funded the airline trips for these people, and the food and necessities for this long trek from the Congo? Who is organizing these massive cross-continent trips aimed at helping hundreds of refugees to cross over our border, and if they are legitimate arrivals, what medical vetting is taking place before they make the trip?  None!

They didn’t swim across the Atlantic, that’s for sure.

Watch this French speaking Swiss journalist asking the Congolese illegals how they got here and who paid for it, despite the fact they have rolls of hundred dollar bills in their pockets.  They would not answer him as you can see in this five-minute video.

Note that these Congolese are saying, “Now we’re here, give us money to survive.”  They are given a paper telling them not to cooperate with ICE, that they are the police from the government.  Portland, Maine is being repopulated with these illegals and can’t accept more.

Los Angeles, California

Typhus, and even bubonic plague are showing up in Los Angeles.  Why?  In October of 2017, former California Governor Jerry Brown signed the bill that made all of California a sanctuary state.  According to the California Hospital Association, in 2014 health care for illegal aliens cost state taxpayers well over $1 billion a year. Eighty-four hospitals across California have already been forced to close because of unpaid bills by illegal aliens.  Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona have a crisis equally as dire.  The Texas Governor recently ordered 1,000 National Guard troops to the border.

Trash is a growing problem for residents in Los Angeles and as the garbage piles up, so do the rats, fueling concerns about flea-borne typhus, according to reports.

But the real problem is illegal alien homelessness and the trash and excrement from them living on the streets.  Deputy City Attorney Liz Greenwood, a veteran prosecutor, told NBC4 she was diagnosed with typhus in November, after experiencing high fevers and excruciating headaches.  Greenwood believes she contracted typhus from fleas in her office at City Hall East. Fleas often live on rats, which congregate in the many heaps of trash that are visible across the city of LA, and are a breeding ground for typhus.  Last year set a new record for the number of typhus cases, 124 in LA County for the year, according to the California Department of Public Health, and this does not even consider the health risks from mountains of human feces in San Francisco.

Dr. Drew Pinsky predicts a major infectious disease epidemic in filthy Los Angeles this summer, putting at risk thousands of lives.  Even the New York Times admits these Democrat run cities are unlivable.

Acting Homeland Security Secretary McAleenan

Former Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director Tom Homan accused McAleenan of resisting ICE and leaking about upcoming raids to the media prior to their taking place.  The nationwide operation was aimed at over 2,000 who have defied orders of removal and are remaining in the country illegally. The Washington Post and other media have reported that McAleenan doesn’t support the operation.

Five officials who spoke with the Washington Examiner confirmed McAleenan’s decision to go rogue and stymie the operation was what prompted the White House to call off the operation.  They said ICE was set to begin raids with court-ordered removals in 10 cities, including Houston, Chicago, Miami and Los Angeles.  Trump now says Congress has two weeks to reach a solution. Good luck with that!

One official claimed McAleenan “cares more about what liberals, the media, and ‘Never Trumpers’ in Congress think of him than achieving the express mission of his department.”

McAleenan needs to hear, “You’re fired.”

Tom Homan said he was glad when President Trump tweeted that the ICE agency would begin “removing the millions of illegal aliens who have illicitly found their way into the U.S.”  He said, “I’ve been pushing for months for ICE to conduct a nationwide deportation operation like the one the president has announced, to include family units that have been given their due process rights at great taxpayer expense and have been ordered removed by a federal judge.”

Americans for Legal Immigration (ALIPAC) claims Trump’s pledge to begin “removing the millions of illegal aliens who have illicitly found their way into the United States” is being received with skepticism by former and current Trump supporters who have been alienated or disappointed by Trump’s numerous broken campaign promises on immigration.  They believe Trump’s tweet is also new posturing designed to pressure Democrats into joining the Trump-Kushner-Graham Amnesty deal for millions of illegals about which ALIPAC is working to warn Americans.

Easy Access and Benefits for Illegals

“News reports have indicated that Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has been allowing migrants to board flights using a ‘Form I-862, Notice to Appear,’ which informs a released illegal alien of when to appear in court and is not one of the 15 forms of identification TSA accepts for air travel,” the conservative lawmakers wrote in a letter to DHS. “The safety and security of the American public should always be our priority.”

The Center for Immigration Studies states that the cost in 2018 per illegal alien was $69,570, or $69.6 billion per million illegal immigrants.  I would guess there are 60 million or more now in our country, how much is that costing us?  The American taxpayer is being raped by lawbreakers.

Democratic presidential candidate Kirstin Gillibrand wants to expand Social Security to people living in the United States illegally.  She is an immigration hawk and wants illegals to have the same rights as citizens.

Nancy Pelosi has actually thanked the parents of “Dreamers” for illegally bringing their children to America.

Since an illegal immigrant under former President Obama’s executive action can now get a Social Security number, the immigrant road map is clear, they may receive the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) without ever having paid taxes.  The EITC is the one that is responsible for billions in fraudulent refunds.

Judicial Watch reports that transgender illegal aliens get special treatment and hormone therapy, which isn’t cheap, under a policy started by Obama and continued by Trump’s Border Czar.  ICE gives transgender illegal aliens their own detention center in New Mexico that offers hair and makeup classes, a recreation area, gym, television rooms, a lab and pharmacy.

Just this month, the New York State Assembly passed a bill that would allow illegal immigrants in America to obtain driver’s licenses.

The Supreme Court has ruled that an immigrant living in the U.S. illegally who had a gun, a crime, can’t be prosecuted if he didn’t know he was in the country illegally. Huh? In a 7-2 decision the justices said in a crime where the status of a person is the “crucial element” to the offense, the government must prove the person was aware of that. Otherwise, it might just be an innocent mistake. The ruling could affect thousands of previous convictions.

Top all this off, with the National Review’s defense of birthright citizenship.  Neo-con founder William F. Buckley was a CFR member, a Yale Skull and Bonesman, and a CIA Agent, so this is not surprising, although there is nothing in the 14th amendment that guarantees birthright citizenship.  The anchor baby scam was invented 35 years ago by liberal zealot, Justice William Brennan, who slipped a footnote into a 1982 Supreme Court opinion announcing that the children born to illegals on U.S. soil are citizens.  Unconstitutional poppycock.

Conclusion

Laws are meaningless if there are no consequences or deterrence for violating them.

Ilhan Omar is arguably the most provocative Muslim public figure in the United States, giving the American public a steady stream of controversy since her arrival on the political stage.

However, to understand the impact she has on the public it’s important to look at the wider circle surrounding the freshman congresswoman. The fanfare uplifting her is worthy of an anthropological study in how cultures are crafted, and what values a culture exalts at the expense of another. 

As a vocal critic of Ilhan Omar — and given that I’m also a conservative Muslim woman — my own reflections as a public figure are sharply scrutinized by Ilhan Omar defenders. What I’m noticing in that I’m often told by Ilhan Omar supporters, “She’s more successful than you.”

This is said as an attack, said to shame and silence me. While I certainly don’t feel shame, what I do feel is total bewilderment. These sorts of messages tell me two things:

  • Success is still being measured by new markers
    The more visibility, public support and “space” one occupies (even in traditional spaces of power), the more “success” they’re attributed by the public.
  • Success is being used as currency to silence speech
    Greater “success” implies that one is somehow entitled to insulation from inquiry or critique because they are perceived to carry more value as a human being. 

If this is my experience, what chance does the average person have who doesn’t have two decades of experience in these conversations?

Another point: The more the average person is silenced in dialogue, the more chance that they’ll be pushed into fringe groups. The more they’re pushed into the fringe, the more they’ll resonate with outlier personalities, including extremists.

The emphasis on success in our day measured by visibility is deeply disturbing because of how it dehumanizes and devalues a human being. In the case of Ilhan Omar supporters, when they can’t defend her based on her track record or character — because it is often indefensible — they resort to personal attacks rooted in perverse value systems.

Unfortunately, there is no point in engaging pro-Ilhan Omar trolls or any other online accounts seeking bad faith conversations. They don’t understand that occupying a space in government isn’t the same as mastering that space and using it as an instrument for the betterment of all mankind. 

How we define success is a red flag for our culture at this hour. Take the interview Ben Shapiro gave with BBC’s Andrew Neil. Caught on a bad day with an uncharacteristically poor temperament, Shapiro stormed off the set but not before saying that he was more successful than Neil. Besides the fact that Neil is widely respected, the point here is that the assumption was that being more well recognized meant one was more successful, which implies a higher value. Shapiro implied he was entitled to the immature behavior he exhibited and reserved the right to silence Neil. Shapiro has since apologized. 

Whether we look at this issue from the lens of an individual or from the lens of simply a group of people who need to co-exist in a space, the fact remains this: As long as we continue to determine success and worth based on popularity, reach and access — we as a culture will all fail.

TDS Outbreak: ACLU Issues Florida ‘Travel Alert’ After Sanctuary Cities Ban

Is there a leftist organization that has not gone nutty as a fruitcake in the Age of Trump?

The latest to evince TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome) is the American Civil Liberties Union. The group has always been well left of center and trending further left. They’ve long not been fans of protecting, say, religious liberties when conflicting with the gay agenda.

But their reaction to Florida’s strong, new anti-sanctuary cities law is just precious in its nuttiness. It doesn’t even really attempt to make a legal or ethical case.

For Florida Republicans and Gov. Ron DeSantis, it’s simply a promise made and a promise kept. He tweeted:

“Earlier this year, I made a promise that we would ban sanctuary cities in Florida and today we are delivering on that promise. I am proud to sign the bill presented to me by the FL Legislature to uphold the rule of law and ensure that our communities are safe.”

First, the ACLU of Florida issued a “travel advisory” regarding Florida following the enactment of the law when Gov. Ron DeSantis signed it last week. A travel advisory! Like, don’t travel to Venezuela or North Korea. If you travel to those countries, you may be killed. If you travel to Florida…they may follow federal law? They might cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials? Alert!

But that was not the full extent of their radical response to a law that shouldn’t even be necessary except that the American left has tipped off a cliff.

Here’s the tweet that the national ACLU sent out regarding Florida following the law regarding cooperating with immigration authorities:

“Today, Gov. DeSantis signed the un-American SB 168 bill into law, a reckless expansion of state government and an affront to the democratic values we share. The law is anti-immigrant, unconstitutional, inhumane, and hurts our families and communities.”

Remember, this bill merely says that municipalities have to work with federal immigration authorities to enforce federal law. For 90 percent of American history it was a given that would be the case (excluding the Civil War, but kind of a different thing there.)

But now we need laws telling Democrat-run municipalities they are not allowed to openly disobey federal law. It’s still a little hard to imagine this is necessary, let alone that it could ever be controversial.

But now it’s unconstitutional? It’s unconstitutional to require that federal law be followed? It’s anti-immigrant to say that local authorities can’t shelter people living here illegally who have been arrested for a different crime? It hurts “our” families and communities to follow the law? It’s inhumane?!?!

It’s impossible to take the ACLU seriously anymore with such wild hyperbole. Too bad. Because I personally know there are at least a few reasonable people in the Florida ACLU who have tried to keep the organization from going full-blown radical partisan.

Obviously they’ve lost the battle.

Just go ahead and categorize the ACLU with the Southern Poverty Law Center and so many other groups that played some sort of honest roll at one point, but are now just Democratic Party hacks.

NEW YORK WILL PROVIDE ILLEGAL ALIENS WITH DRIVER’S LICENSES: Where is Gov. Cuomo’s MVP Award from terrorists?

On June 18, 2019 The New York Daily News reported, “Cuomo signs bill granting undocumented immigrants access to New York driver’s licenses despite 11th-hour concerns.”

Incredibly, the concerns were not about how this might impact national security, public safety or the immigration crisis on the border, but about how information in the DMV databases might help the federal government to enforce immigration laws and what needs to be done to prevent this from happening!

This is not the first time that the New York State legislature attempted to provide driver’s licenses for illegal aliens, but this time this dangerous and wrong-headed legislation has become the law of the state.

Back in 2007 then-New York State Governor Spitzer pushed for similar legislation that would have provided illegal aliens with driver’s licenses.

I testified before the New York State Senate on October 15, 2007 on that issue, in which I voiced my extreme opposition to the legislation.

When I addressed the hearing I noted that the preposterous claim made by proponents for issuing driver’s licenses, and an argument that was used during the most recent debate, is that since illegal aliens will drive “anyway” (with or without a license), a license would enable them to get insurance and they would learn to drive more safely. I told them that by this reasoning the State of New York should provide convicted felons with firearms training and carry permits since it is likely that they would also violate the laws and carry guns “anyway.” I then said that with proper training the criminals could improve their accuracy and thus would be less likely to hit innocent bystanders in a gun battle. Further, perhaps through training, they could be convinced to use trigger locks between bank robberies and drive-by shootings. With my tongue firmly embedded in my cheek I suggested that this would improve public safety immeasurably.

You can imagine their reactions!

The concerns I included in my prepared testimony then are as relevant today as they were then, with one additional critical factor: in the nearly 12 years since that hearing, while there have been no terror attacks carried out by international terrorists that involve the hijacking of airliners, there have been a string of deadly mass casualty terror attacks around the world and in the United States that involved terrorists using motor vehicles as weapons.

On June 14, 2019 the Justice Department announced the sentencing of a citizen of Yemen for his terrorist activities: “New York Man Sentenced to 20 Years in Prison for Attempting to Join ISIS in Yemen.”

The press release included this paragraph:

Following his return to the United States in September 2015, Naji continued to express his support for ISIS and violent jihad.  In July 2016, following the ISIS-inspired terrorist truck attack in Nice, France, that killed scores of innocent civilians, Naji told the CS how easy it would be to carry out a similar attack in Times Square, explaining that ISIS “want[s] an operation in Times Square” and stating that an ISIS “reconnaissance group . . . put up scenes of Times Square.”

Naji further explained, “if there is a truck, I mean a garbage truck and one drives it there to Times Square and crushes them . . . Times Square day.”

Terrorists have also used vehicles such cabs and passenger vans to conduct clandestine meetings and as a means of conducting covert surveillance on potential terror targets.

The TSA was created in the aftermath of the terror attacks of 9/11 and funded to the tune of billions of dollars. It currently employs more than 45,000 people and  maintains and uses so-called “No Fly Lists” to help prevent terrorists from gaining access to airliners.

Yet there are no “No Drive Lists” to prevent terrorists from being able to access cars and trucks.

Perhaps the efforts to enhance security in the commercial aviation sector have paid off or, perhaps the terrorists have simply shifted their methodology. In any event the use of motor vehicles as weapons has prompted cities to install numerous physical barriers to protect against such attacks but few barriers exist to prevent terrorists from gaining access to motor vehicles.

On August 20, 2018, CNN provided a synopsis of such attacks in an article, “Terrorist Attacks by Vehicle Fast Facts.”

Terrorists who have driver’s licenses don’t pose a risk only to those who live in the state where the license was issued. They can simply rent a car in New York and drive anywhere in the U.S. or travel to any other state and use their New York driver’s license to rent a car there.

Now New York, the state that by far suffered the greatest devastation on September 11, 2001 and has suffered other terror attacks, including one that involved a truck used to run down people on a bicycle path just blocks from the World Trade Center, will enthusiastically provide illegal aliens with driver’s licenses.

My dad taught me to drive. When he handed me the keys to our family car he told me that a car could be more lethal than a gun. And as we have seen all too frequently, that statement is accurate, dead accurate.

Continuing with my dad’s comparison of guns and cars, 18 U.S.C. § 922(g) is a federal law that prohibits certain individuals from possessing firearms that includes:

(5) who, being an alien- (A) is illegally and unlawfully in the United States; or (B) except as provided in subsection (y)(2), has been admitted to the United States under a nonimmigrant visa (as that term is defined in section 101(a)(26) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. § 1101(a)(26)))

The penalty for violation of this law is a maximum of 10 years in jail.

New York City Penal Code similarly prohibits non U.S. citizens (aliens) from possessing firearms.

Why then should illegal aliens be given the privilege of driving motor vehicles when their very presence in the United States is a violation of law and we may never know their true identities?

Drivers licenses, however, convey more than the authority to drive motor vehicles.

Illegal aliens, criminals, fugitives and terrorists seek to acquire identity documents such as driver’s licenses, particularly under false names to conceal their true identities and their movements and provide them with an illusion of legitimacy to which they are certainly not entitled.

My earlier article, “Immigration And The Unlearned Lessons Of 9/11,” included the link to an important New York Times article, “Roosevelt Avenue, a Corridor of Vice,” which reported on the nexus between illegal immigration, crime (including human trafficking, prostitution, narcotics), and the use of false identity documents, primarily by illegal aliens.

“Undocumented Immigrants” generally have no authentic and reliable means of identifying themselves. The New York Times article noted how important it was for the NYPD to shut down the fraud document vendors because of the dangers associated with providing such individuals with identity documents. However, for local officials to provide illegal aliens with authentic driver’s licenses directly violates the findings and recommendations of the 9/11 Commission which was behind the creation of the REAL ID Act.

It is all but impossible for state or local officials to properly determine the true identifies of “undocumented” aliens. Thus illegal aliens would be able to easily game the licensing procedures to acquire an actual driver’s license under false identities making the DMV no better than the fake document vendors who ply their trades in communities across the United States as described in the New York Times article I noted above.

It is remarkable that on August 4, 2004, MSNBC published an NBC report, “9/11 report light on ID theft issues,” which included this paragraph:

But in the nation’s most comprehensive look yet at what went wrong on Sept. 11., and what can be done to prevent the next terrorist attack, identity theft gets scarce mention. Buried deep within the 9/11 commission report — on about 10 pages, starting with page 393 — are suggestions for dealing with the deeply connected problems of terrorism and identity fraud.

Then there was this disconcerting paragraph:

Terrorism and identity theft go hand in hand, experts say.  The al-Qaida training manual includes provisions for trainees to leave camp with five fake personas, says Collins, who uses a copy of the manual to train law enforcement officials. Terrorists are regularly schooled in the art of subsisting off credit card fraud while living in the United States, Collins said.

In the hands of an illegal alien, a driver’s license may well become a license to kill.
